How to fully explain this location? First, we were there because our daughter was graduating from the University of Alabama. So we had 19 family members all together, not all staying there, but celebrating there together. It was only an easy hour drive to campus. The house was really more than expected. It is listed as a 200 year old home, which it is. They have modernized it and are continuing to work on it, as needed. We had plenty of room for all of us. The downstairs outdoor patio was fantastic. We spent a lot of time out there and on the first floor, as many were older and didn't do stairs. But, upstairs was beautiful and full of great things to see and ponder. The house has history, character and is beautiful. The homeowners were kind, friendly and informative. We loved hearing more about the house from the 7th generation owner. Julia Tutwiler lived there for years! Alabama history right there! Thank you, Sidney, for sharing your home. We had a fabulous, memorable time there.

Jay and Eddie were very responsive and kind. The place was as described and clean and has everything you could need in a quiet neighborhood. Appreciate their help on our short notice request and they were accommodating.

Barden is an excellent host. The grounds are beautiful. I was unable to get up the ladder in the pecan shelling house and Barden offered us either the house or the outbuilding. We chose the outbuilding which was perfect for our stay. Would definitely stay again!
