Holiday rentals with a fireplace in Sudden Valley

This place felt like an exhale I didn’t know I needed. Surrounded by trees and the sound of the river nearby, it offered space to slow down, to listen inward, to just be. We spent a full week in this cozy spot. Walked to breakfast in downtown Bellingham several times. It seemed like everything we did was just a 10-15 minute drive, weather biking Galbraith, a trip to Costco for a pre wedding party, or into Fairhaven for the wedding we easily moved around town. When we needed recovery this place was great for chilling to music or watching a movie. We cooked several meals in the kitchen and found everything we needed to make them delicious. My wife, adult son, and 93-yr old mom found the place roomy enough for personal space,too. I think three couples could easily coexist there. Thanks for sharing this gem,Nick!

What a perfect place for us! It was so comfortable, with great beds, linens and towels! The neighborhood is quiet and close to town at the same time. Having the garage was extra nice for my husband (-: Donna was very responsive to the couple of questions we had, and super nice! This is an annual trip for us and hopefully this will be available when we come next summer!

What an amazing home!! We loved the cottage decor with all the little nooks to hang out, books and games, telescope, cozy blankets. The views from the living room and patio were spectacular. We spent our mornings watching hundreds of herons fishing in the low tide! Walking down the beach to the southern point was so quiet and peaceful. Then ending our nights back out on the patio with a fire - such a relaxing time. Dawn’s home was also so great for our pup. He loved basking in the sun on the patio and exploring the water just steps away. Driving the short loop toward the ferry is well worth the amazing view of Mt Baker, and we enjoyed a little ferry trip to Lummi island, although the cottage is so comfortable and relaxing, we would have been happy not leaving at all during the day too!

We came here as 3 moms on a Mother's Day weekend getaway. It was everything the doctor ordered: peace and quiet, a beach within walking distance, birds all around and the delightful town of Fairhaven just up the road. We loved the comfortable lived-in feel of the house. So many Airbnbs these days are without personality; this is a home that has been lived in and loved, filled with the books and art of a family that loved their home and its beautiful setting. We watched birds, took hikes, completed a jigsaw puzzle and explored the shops of Fairhaven. It is hard to ask for anything more. The beds were comfortable, the view from the deck was amazing, it had everything we needed - without being remotely pretentious.

Merlyn was responsive from the very beginning, assisting with the scheduling and making sure the home accommodated what we needed!

We were in town for our boy’s state baseball tournament but we will be back to Bellingham just for this place. This house was incredibly beautiful and the view is second to none! We saw bald eagles right off the back deck and sailboats on the bay. What a spot to rest! The hosts were great and very accommodating. We read the reviews about the train noise so we were aware going in. We actually enjoyed watching them go by from the back deck and the noise was noticeable, but didn’t bother us at all. They have a photo album of the construction process that they did as a family and it’s amazing to see what they went through to build this beautiful home. I’m a carpenter by trade so I could really appreciate the craftsmanship of this home. My wife’s favorite artist is Andrew Wyeth and she was thrilled that they had 2 of his painting in the house. Everything we needed, they had and we look forward to coming back!

The place is small, but it is really comfortable for a few nights. It was very clean and organized. We really like the common shared area where they have the pool table, a fireplace, and some nice and cozy sofas. We went there both nights, and it was mostly empty with the whole place for us. We didn’t cook, so we cannot evaluate the kitchen.

Vicki is the consummate host and truly an ambassador for Orcas Island. She makes sure that you have the best guest experience but also have your privacy. She gives excellent recommendations for excursions and restaurants. Robin Song Studio has breathtaking views of the water and is nestled in the forest. It is such a cozy place. We had such as peaceful and relaxing stay. Thank you, Vicki!

This waterfront inner bay location is an ever changing view of tidal events, birds, and a beautiful garden. Every hour of the day had something different to observe and enjoy. Faces east for moonrise and sunrise views. A lovely setting, kind hosts, and close enough to Edison for dining, art galleries, and a small village stroll. Plus the king bed was incredibly comfortable so sleep was a dream. Recommend adding a visit to Bow Sanctuary sauna and sessions to add a wellness experience.

Peggys was such a wonderful host and a great communicator. The studio was very clem and the location was spot on. It was very close to everything especially the ferry harbor, which was super convenient for us since island hopped everyday. Would recommend and definitely would stay again.

Audrey's place was absolutely fantastic! Very nice, beautiful and clean. Next to beautiful trails, ravine and park. We felt right at home. The home itself is very beautiful and it has everything that one may need. It was nice meeting Audrey in person. We would definitely recommend this place.

Nancy’s home was so comfy and cozy for our family. Lots of space for everyone and extra blankets to snuggle in. We definitely stay in this home again. Thanks for the great weekend!

What a beautiful and peaceful retreat! The backyard garden is absolutely breathtaking, and there is a beautiful view of the bay. The furniture, bed, pillows, and linens were all very comfortable. It was nice to have everything we needed in the kitchenette. We also, really liked the heated tile flooring! Everything was just as pictured and described, and it felt very clean. We had a very quiet, peaceful stay!

We used the house for a wedding. Hosted the brides immediate family and wedding party. Stayed with 13 people and a dog. Lots of space for everyone. Wedding party enjoyed relaxing in hot tub and used pool. House was very clean with plenty of beds plus four very thick fold out mattresses. Sun was excellent to deal with and it was completely contactless service... always responded to messages within minutes. The property is amazing and very quiet and peaceful.

I had an amazing stay at this Airbnb! The host was incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to address any issues promptly, making the entire experience stress-free. The home has such a warm and cozy ambiance that it truly feels like a home away from home. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a comfortable and welcoming stay.

Absolutely beautiful. It is so peaceful here and Anne's home is truly a luxury experience. I loved how spacious the house was - my daughter could be watching a movie on the other side of the house and I wouldn't hear a thing. The pool is beautiful and serene. We loved the massage chair, the bidet toilet (my first time using one of these), and the wonderful shower. The area is an upper-end suburb with cafe's, restaurants and some shopping nearby. There are sidewalks everywhere to walk and the ocean is just a half mile or so away. We mostly did day trips to the city but did have one day in the area checking out open houses just for fun. There are so many enormous, gorgeous houses in this area we were happy to spend an afternoon hopping from one to another. Teresa and Anne were lovely, attentive hosts. We enjoyed the few times we spoke to them and were grateful to have them as. hosts. I highly recommend this home for a quiet, beautiful, luxury stay.

My favorite part about staying with May was the personal touches, such as a welcome sign with my name on it. What was even more touching was the surprise wedding gift (I was staying at the airbnb leading up to my wedding). There are a few tiny details I personally would prefer to be different but upon bringing them to the hosts attention they were receptive and considerate of what I had to say.

We had a wonderful stay at Yuanyuan’s Airbn! It was very clean and included amenities and recommendations for local restaurants and services that were very helpful. The beds were very comfortable and the air conditioning was wonderful to have. Yuanyuan was very friendly and check in and check out were very easy. We will definitely stay here again when we return next year. Would highly recommend this Airbnb.
