Kid-friendly holiday rentals in St. John

If you find yourself in St. John and want a beautiful secluded space with a great view, do not hesitate to stay here! The road getting up to it is extremely steep so if that is hard for you, that would be the only issue. Our jeep made the climb up and down no problem, but it was the steepest road I have ever been on! Other than that, the space is perfect for your homebase. I highly recommend Coffee on the porch for sunrise before your adventure of the day. A great clean space that just feels good to be in.

Beautiful, clean, eclectic villa in a great location!! Host representative met us at check in and walked us through everything. House was super clean and the view was great. Definitely want to arrive during daylight as the driveway is a little tricky the guest time up. Also, recommend 4 wheel drive vehicle. Having the beach chairs and cooler was a great addition for our adventures. Location is great for beaches and islands exploring. Was a great place to spend our 25th wedding anniversary:)

This was our second visit to St. John, and Villa Nesta was the perfect spot for us! If you’re looking for a perfectly appointed house, with breathtaking views, peace and quiet, a friendly and helpful host, and easily navigable roads to and from local beaches and restaurants, look no further. We especially loved the gorgeous back deck and the tranquility of the outdoor shower. We had one full day of rain this trip, which we took as an opportunity to stay in, relax, and simply appreciate the seascapes all around us. We will absolutely be back!

Place was great! Easy to find and Theresa helped me w/ the door code in a pinch (my fault not reading the instructions carefully 🫣).

We loved our stay at the Yellow Flamingo. we traveled with 2 adults and 2 kids the size of adults(14 and 12). Honestly, I was very pleased with the condo. Based on the pictures and previous experiences with smaller rentals, I was afraid we were going to be cramped or the kids bed was going to be too small. I was pleasantly surprised they had enough room to share the sofa and we had enough room to maneuver around each other. We were very pleased with the location too it was a quick scenic drive to any of the main beaches. The view from the pool was great! The pool had a ledge to sit and was about 6 ft deep in the middle. The kids were slightly disappointed they couldn't touch bottom. This was the only complaint from them and it didn't matter because they got their water fix at the beach. The kitchen setup was great because we were able to fix quick dinners easily. Our host could not have done anything more to make our stay better.

I don’t have adequate words so soon after leaving to express the feeling that stays with me after being at orchid house for a week. All I can say is that my heart is full. If you are a person who isn’t looking for fancy, and whose idea of contentment is lying in a hammock listening to all the sounds of life teeming around you, this is a place you’ll never want to leave. Wonderful hosts and truly an extraordinary place. A work of art in every way. So grateful to have experienced it!

Best location to stay! We were a <5 min car ride from the ferry. Walking distance to many restaurants. There was plenty of parking available nearby. The host was very responsive and offered tips, car reservations, and other excursions. The only con was the amount of stairs to get to the apartment but that was clearly stated in the listing and not too much of an issue for us. It was actually beautiful to walk up and have a beautiful view of the sunset in the distance.

Viewtiful lived up to its name. Sunsets, sunrises, sunny days, cloudy days – each hour brought new delights. We never tired gazing from our mountaintop abode. The house itself is wonderfully equipped and laid out. The kitchen had all the tools we needed to cook many meals. The living room was comfortable. The bedrooms were spacious and also afforded lovely views. And the hot tub and pool were most refreshing. The many guidebooks and maps were quite useful as we planned our island adventure. The joys of the house itself were surpassed only by the friendliness, efficiency, competence, and availability of our host, Mary-Eileen and her ever helpful husband, David. Mary-Eileen met us in Cruz Bay and led us to the house, explained and showed us everything, made great recommendations, and kept in touch and responded quickly to any and all queries we had. She is an exemplary host and truly enhanced our holiday. She made a wonderful trip even better than we could have possibly expected.

My 10-year-old daughter and I had a great stay! Tricia and Dave were super kind and communicative, giving lots of helpful suggestions and were there whenever an issue arose. A few things to note: — the space is just below their home, and you can definitely hear them upstairs when they’re home — they provide so many helpful things to make your time there wonderful: beach chairs, towels, snorkel gear, Floaties, etc. — the listed address is not correct, so be sure to follow directions listed or maybe ask them privately for the correct address. I had no problems with GPS on the island, and I have Verizon — there’s no AC, but they do a great job of providing fans and ventilated windows — be sure to sleep with all lights off. We left a light on for the comfort of my daughter, the first night, and woke up to a lot of bugs inside. Lesson learned! Overall, a great stay, and we would happily return!

We had a wonderful stay at True Blessings. Laurel is a great host and would quickly reply to any communication. It is perfect for 2 people. We loved sitting by the bar on the deck with our morning coffee and the evenings we cooked at home.

We had a wonderful stay in the Papaya suite! The porch was our favorite part - it was bigger than anticipated with a beautiful view. The studio was as described, and was a perfect spot for mid-day showers and naps, and settling in for the evening. As we learned, most everything is uphill in St. John, and though the driving was a little nerve wracking at first, we felt at ease after the first few trips to the suite. The location is very close to Cruz Bay, but is not walkable due to the narrow, windy roads and steep hills. We had a Jeep rental which was perfect. We appreciated that the suite had beach chairs and a cooler for our use.

Amanda was a fantastic host, very communicative with clear instructions. The place was clean, beautifully maintained, and exactly as described.

We always enjoy staying at Casa Tua. The last two years we were in #3, going back to #1 next year, we like a little extra space. Highly recommend

Thelma is a local who knows everything! She and her husband helped me through my three days here, including calling taxi, finding bus stop and luggage storage etc. Couldn’t ask a more supportive host! Also their place is very cozy and clean, with a lovely cat nearby.

We absolutely loved our stay here. The location couldn’t have been better: close to town, local markets, and the stunning North Shore beaches but still felt like our own private escape. Mornings with coffee on the balcony and evenings watching the sunset were awesome. The king bed was comfortable, and the whole place had a peaceful, welcoming vibe. The hosts were super kind and helpful, offering great local recommendations. Don’t miss dinner at Morgan’s Mango—it was one of our favorite meals! This spot truly gave us the best of St John. We’re already dreaming about coming back.

We had a wonderful stay! We needed a place for two nights within walking distance of Cruz Bay- this was the perfect spot. Bridget was there to greet us and their whole family was lovely. Location was great- short walk to Dolphin Market for groceries- and we even hiked to Salomon Beach!

We had a wonderful stay! The place was perfect and I would not want to stay anywhere else. It was very clean, had a nice view, and was extremely walkable to Cruz Bay restaurants. The studio was a good size for my husband and our 2 kids. The resort and the amenities were great. Everyone was super nice and helpful. The pool was warm and the hot tub very nice. There were elevators which was nice for me being very pregnant. The staff were very friendly and willing to help with anything. Would 100% stay here again.

My fiancé and I stayed here for our annual trooical getaway. We're from the mountains of Colorado so we're very active and adventerous. This place was perfect! Close to the Red Hook ferries, some great restaurants, and everything was very driveable. We had a rental car and I'd recommend it for this location. It made life very easy. We enjoyed multiple dinners at home because the windows really do look like that and they're SPOTLESS. Enjoy that patio but definitely light a bug candle. We did everything! Hiking, snorkeling off beaches, snorkeling using boat charters... everything. We love this island and Veronica's little condo was exceptional. We did lose power for 1 night. I would recommend blasting the AC the minute you get back to prepare for having to go a night without it and do not open the windows if it happens. Just ride it out. Blame WAPA. I use a CPAP machine and brought a travel battery. I strongly recommend you do the same and bring battery banks for phones at least.

Our stay in St. John’s was great! Charlie was a great host. He was extremely welcoming, responsive and gracious. The Airbnb has a separate entrance and feels very private. The grounds are beautiful and well kept. The place was well equipped with essentials needed for cooking, the beach, and toiletries. My mom and I do a girls trip every year and we would be happy to stay here again!

I don’t think the description fully captures how stunning this condo really is, it was absolutely beautiful. Jeffrey was an incredible host, always responsive and ready to help with anything we needed. The only thing I’d suggest is adding a full-length mirror, but aside from that, everything was perfect. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Palmy Daze is a lovely island condo. Upon entering you are met with view of Cruz Bay, once on the deck you are at eye level with a tree bursting full of coconuts and beautiful trees in bloom, so many ! The pool is visible through the foliage from the deck. The interior was immaculate, wood floors and the wooden spiral staircase were polished to an amazing shine. Couch was very comfortable, fully equipped kitchen, plenty of towels, and beach equipment! Both beds were very comfortable and the linens were of good quality and smelled so good! There are 2 portable air conditioners that we didn't need as the breeze from all the large windows and ceiling fans were great. Huge thanks to Trevor who picked us up with the jeep at the ferry dock and drove us to PD. He was also kind enough to have 6 gallons of water waiting for us in the condo. Both Trevor and Dena answered any questions immediately. I'm sure I'm leaving something out, but it was all very good!

Amazing unit with an incredible view! Steps away from downtown cruise bay and the beachfront restaurants. The unit is great for a couple or a small family. Felt much more spacious than the photos made it seem. The check in was smooth and the facility and pool was well kept. Definitely will look to stay here again when visiting St John!
