Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Southeast Portland

We loved our stay at Gail’s. The unit was quite spacious, and we felt right at home. The bed was also very comfortable! We also really appreciated the thought put into the local recommendations, and we used a few of them! The neighborhood is very peaceful and walkable.

Perfect place for our stay. Felt safe and off the beaten path even though the location had easy access to dining and drinks with a short uber. Just a studio style but had everything we needed in the small space. Felt so much more at home than a hotel and checkin/out was 1000x easier. Wish we could find more places like this in other towns! Thanks Tim for the emergency snacks and great coffee selection too!

This was the perfect location for our trip. A home away from home that allowed us to easily plan day trips. Its central location and parking spot in the driveway made getting around and back home easy. Bed was on the firmer side, which I enjoyed but my wife liked a bit less, due to being a side sleeper. Everything was very clean aside from one bar of soap with a hair on it left behind. I only mention it because I had to hear about it from the wife. :) I think the rain shower made it up to her though. Otherwise, very clean, and I’m sure cleaner than a downtown hotel. Overall, just a very homey, quiet place. The bottle of wine and chocolate were a nice touch. Would wholeheartedly recommend this rental.

We always stay here when in Portland. It's a great location for us and the surroundings are familiar. Easy access to Tri-Met and PDX. Hosts are wonderful.

Pros: - Perfect location for walking to restaurants and shops. - Beautiful quiet neighborhood that's still close to downtown and accessible. - Bus lines go right down Hawthorne a block away. - Unit is pleasant and efficiently lead out. - Very comfortable couch and bed. -Reliable internet. Cons: - Unit is pretty small. Think studio hotel room. But it worked just fine for me. I stayed a full week. Great stay, thanks!

The apartment was spacious and well equipped. A meal could easily be prepared in the large kitchen, laundry done, and even ironed. Zanna was very responsive when I mentioned that certain products were running low. Also very nice to have the use of a private patio with table and chairs. I will stay here again if I plan to be in Portland for several days.

Quick one-night stay while I handled some moving stuff (used to live in the neighborhood but we are moving out of Portland). Having lived in the area I can tell you that this is a great location to explore the city from if you want an alternative to a downtown hotel. Tucked away just enough for peace and quiet but very walkable and convenient to public transit. The space itself is a cozy basement apartment. No kitchen per se so you won't be cooking but there's a mini fridge, microwave, and some dishes etc. Bathroom was very nice and I slept well in the bed. I don't think there is independent climate control but the day I checked in the high was something like 97 and it was quite cool inside. All in all a nice spot with a welcoming host.

This was our second time staying here, and it was just as wonderful as the first time. Clean, comfortable, cozy, and had everything we needed. The location is just what we wanted for access to Reed College. Terrific experience.

It’s always pleasant to stay at Matthew’s place. It’s so convenient for my purposes. I’ve stayed there several times over the past several years and will continue to do so.

We were so happy to be back in Portland and Peregrine’s place made our visit that much better! Beautiful house with lovely porches, gardens and within walking distance of great food and coffee. The accommodations were thoughtful and the bed sooo comfortable! Will definitely stay again!

The apartment was clean and private, located in a great quiet neighborhood with a beautifully impressive pine tree just outside the back deck. Easy to walk to nearby Woodstock shops, and the Reed College walking trails. Sue was a responsive and friendly host, I highly recommend this spot!

This place is a gem! Absolutely gorgeous cottage garden neighborhood. Plenty of parking. Close to shopping and restaurants on Hawthorne. I would recommend bringing some earplugs incase you want to sleep in, and Steve’s family is up earlier. Generally, sound was not an issue though.

My brother and I stayed here just for one evening before a long hike up Mount Hood and it was lovely. We went to bed super early at 6pm and it was quiet and peaceful the whole time. The beds were comfortable and Justin communicated well with us. Justin’s place is also located centrally to SO many great restaurants and other things close enough to walk to and in a beautiful historic neighborhood. His place is charming, well appointed, and affordable as well. We’ll be back!

A big, comfortable space in an excellent location. The full kitchen is an amazing added bonus! This space is well-lit with natural light and a great view of the owner's garden. I definitely will stay again when I am in the area.

It's a basement apartment, has some cool art, decent kitchen area, bed is very firm, then - pretty much the expected daytime noises (one or two early evenings as well, but not bad - and I tried to stay close to Eastern sleep schedule, so that's my adjustment to make, not the host's), a little musty, a steep set of steps... but priced well for the area and had what I needed for easy access to the area while visiting my daughter.

This is a pristine, cozy apartment. Everything you need in beautiful setting and very walkable to great restaurants, shops, and a nice walk to Mt. Tabor Park. Dave is a wonderful host. I will be back.

Great place, very clean, lots of amenities. A little hard to find and chack in, but the photo directions from the host really help. There is a grocery store about a 1 min walk from the apartment which was really handy. Close to the water and centrally located. Overall, very nice.

Taylor & Jordan’s place was amazing! The pictures do it justice, but being there is the ultimate! The decor, furnishings, and the entertainment were outstanding. This is truly a 5 star experience! If you want the best place and location in Portland, this is it. The views of the mountains and easy walkable access to the Willamette River make it that much more an enjoyable experience. I will warn you, the place is so nice that you will want to stay indoors to enjoy all that is to offer. Taylor & Jordan are great hosts who are attentive. Their care taker, Daniel, happened to be on the grounds when we arrived. He introduced himself and offered to assist with our luggage. I know for sure, this will be our go to when we return to Portland! Thank you Taylor & Jordan

Great value and it was above my expectations when I walked into the house. I had a great use of the kitchen and the AC was definitely a huge bonus during the summer heat. Rich was very good in communications and I felt like I was well taken care of

I loved staying at Bina's place. it was clean, quiet, located right next to public transportation downtown, restaurants, and across the street from Whole Foods.

This was the perfect respite after a long week of moving cross country. The beds were comfy and the kitchen encouraged baking, which my spouse did. It is right on a busy street but not too noisy. We could just step right outside and find great restaurants, books stores, and even a plus sized thrift store. We loved staying in your beautifully decorated old home. We will definitely recommend it to our friends and family when they visit us.
