Quando chegamos aqui, não havia casa. Havia um terreno, araucárias e uma ideia grande demais para nós três. Vieram a madeira sob chuva, as janelas no frio, o primeiro inverno. Veio o fogo antes da noite, a neblina descendo pelo vale. Devagar, quase sem perceber, este lugar virou casa. A 1.540 metros, a nuvem toca o telhado, o frio chega antes do relógio e a noite não escurece — ela se abre. Foi por isso que ficamos.
