Kid-friendly holiday rentals in South Hill

The house was spotless and well kept. Beautifully decorated and restored. Brittany was a pleasure to deal with - instructions and communication were perfect. We stayed for 3 nights over Memorial Day as we were in Ithaca for Cornell graduation. Perfect location as it was under 2 miles from campus but away from the madness surrounding graduation. Views were beautiful. Could not have asked for a better Airbnb for our needs. A great place to stay and highly recommend it.

We really loved the cabin. It was comfortable, clean and really well equipped. The location was perfect - in peaceful surroundings but close enough to Ithaca, Cayuga Lake and the beautiful state parks. Janelle and Aaron are such lovely hosts. We would definitely stay here again.

This was such a lovely AirBnb, clean, comfortable and just a 10 minute walk to Cornell University. From check-in to check-out Randi and her husband were just wonderful -- they left us snacks and even bought us organic milk from a local dairy. The greatest hosts I've ever had at an AirBnb and just a lovely home in a beautiful, nice area.

This place is truly unique. It's a get away space for musicians who share it when they aren't using it. The place has been built up and settled in. It's gorgeous, the location and the barn architecture. But it's not uptight. It feels like late 60s - early 70s rock and roll, or like classic country music. Maddy's family has a phenomenal record collection and the stereo sounds SO good. The albums we brought came to life there. There's also an excellent book collection, lots of rock and music stuff but also philosophy, literature, eco books, and classic kids book (lots of kids books and a massive toy trunk with toys for kids of all ages!). The kitchen has got pretty much everything you need, and all the basic amenities and appliances. Around about are lots of area lamps, interesting hangings, colored glass, rugs, throws, and well cared for house plants. Finally, the pond and field have not been chemical killed. So, there are lots of birds, frogs, fish, and nests.

We had a great stay in Deanna’s lovely home, which was a short ride away from Cornell’s campus! Great communication and we appreciated the flexibility for an early check in.

It was a nice quiet neighborhood and walkable to the downtown area, just what we were looking for.

Very close to commons, easy parking, super clean, very family friendly, i could tell every thoughtful accommodation had been made for small children, my kids didn’t want to leave!

Linda is an excellent host and the place is peaceful and cozy. She was proactive in communicating instructions and very welcoming. There is a lot of tour recommendations and local guide tips inside the house. It was a comfortable stay and the surrounding is serene

I originally booked a hotel for my visit but am so happy I switched to Carolyn’s Airbnb instead. Easy check in, and everything was super stocked in the bathroom and kitchen, which was a nice surprise! Responsive and friendly host. Will definitely come again if I have the chance!

When we walked in the airbnb, I though someone was playing piano next door, but there was a soothing piano playlist on the TV. The heat and air was already on and set at a comfortable temperature, as well, which was lovely because it was cold and rainy. There were books with suggestions on what to do around the area. We had everything we needed here, and we were very thankful that bottled water was provided! We actually ran into Christopher and he is such a friendly man.

Jerry's place was very easy to find, and in a great location for my business trip. The studio apartment was immaculate (excellent job by his cleaner!) and well supplied with all the conveniences and appliances needed- the photo I saw didn't show a microwave, but I was happy to find one there. The shower? Bliss. Great pressure and ultra-modern style. Other reviewers have mentioned the street noise, but I've lived in a city before and had no problem falling asleep. Two fans and an air conditioner kept the place at a comfortable temperature. For me, as a mobility-challenged person, the apartment wasn't as good a fit as hoped. The stairs to the second floor are moderately steep with a turn at the top, and the mattress is lower than usual making it difficult for me to get up from the bed. If you have physical issues that way, just be aware of this and make your own determination. Also, one tenant has a cat, and if you have an allergy to them, you'll want to know that.

Friendly, responsive host. Good, clean amenities. Bit of a walk to campus but if you don't mind a small hill or two it's a pleasant one. Just what we were looking for. Thanks!

Well equipped and roomy kitchen with nice view of the backyard garden and forest. Nice spot for early morning birding! We loved the large sitting room and chairs on the front porch. Quiet and private! Kim was super helpful. Loved pur stay!

We stayed at George's place on a quick overnight and arrive late. So sad we didn't have more time to stay here. The apartmement is on the top floor so there are stairs to climb but it is just adorable and so charming! The view or Ithaca Falls from the living room windows and the sound of the falls in the morning was spectacular. Would definitely stay here again!

Great location around lots of amazing hiking. The apartment felt private and had everything we needed. Shower pressure was amazing and we loved relaxing in the hot tub after a full day of hiking. Would definitely recommend staying here.

This is by far one of the best Airbnbs that I have stayed in. The location was perfect and the place was clean. It was super cute and perfect for me and my two daughters. The hot tube was an added plus too!! Would absolutely stay there again! The hosts were super friendly and so helpful. They felt like family. ❤️❤️❤️

Great stay! Wonderful visit with 3 adults, we gave my mom the larger room and my sister and I stayed in the room with the trundle bed. The living room area was so nice to spend time planning our day or visiting together at the end of the day. Great walking to breakfast and dinner spots. The location will be even better when the renovations are done by the water. Parking was easy and a great home-base for visiting the manyFinger Lakes locations. My mom said the pillows were so comfortable! Great that there was a hair dryer and even a steamer if someone needed it! Many coffee and tea options in the kitchen.

Wonderful place to stay, very private, very convenient. It's very clean. Hosts were unobtrusive and communicative via app. Instructions were clear. Our party consisted of 2 adults and 4 children, ages 8 to 12. The accommodations worked very well. Cozy space, we really only needed to be there to shower and sleep. Would stay again.

Our family came in for a concert, and this location was perfect. Beautiful condo, with a perfect location on the lake. With access to the pool, hot tub, life sized chess board, gym and the lakeside trail, we were within steps of a brewery, salon, restaurants, playground and an ice cream shop. Within walking distance of CMAC -- which we saw many people do. No need to bring your own towels, the condo has 4 for your use. The owners were quick to respond when we weren't able to get the door open (trick: turn the lock all the way to the right and lift the door handle up as you open) and super kind/prompt if I had other questions. We'll def be back. Thanks for letting us stay in your beautiful place!

Diane’s lakeside retreat has definitely earned all these five star reviews! It’s even better than the photos. The view is spectacular, the place is spotless, the bed and furnishings so comfortable. Full of thoughtful touches. Perfect for two people. Believe the hype!
