Very friendly and welcoming hosts. A really lovely little bothy in a beautiful spot. Perfect for a weekend break. We were breaking a journey north but it would be ideal for a few days walking or cycling. Thanks so much Marcelle and Alan and the dogs!

We really enjoyed our stay in this lovely little cottage. The attention to detail and the welcome pack made us feel at home straight away. Even the dog was included with a blanket and water bowl. It’s in an excellent location to explore Hadrian’s Wall and the Roman forts, as well as Corbridge and Hexham, both worth a visit. These are only a short drive away from the village of Wall itself, which is very picturesque and peaceful. All in all we had a great break in a great place.

An absolutely beautiful accommodation, comfortable & large in a glorious setting. Zoe is so friendly, unassuming & helpful. Encouraged us to wander around her lovely garden, the very old courtyard & surroundings. Her dogs & cats add to the pleasant home stay atmosphere. The breakfast supplies, tea & coffee were very generous. Zoe booked us into a nearby pub for dinner which was a good idea as they can be very busy. There are a number of things to see in nearby towns. We would have loved to have stayed for much longer & will definitely return to Zoe’s if we ever get back to the UK.

We stayed here for 2 nights with our 11 year old grandson to show him Hadrian’s Wall. John and Claire are delightful hosts who made us feel very welcome, giving good advice on where to eat and walk the dogs along the river. The flat, independently situated within a part of their lovely house itself (but with own entrance) is light and airy, decorated in excellent taste with very comfortable beds with good linen. The starter 'breakfast pack' was much appreciated; Claire and John make their own jams , marmalade and honey. We enjoyed use of the pretty summer house in the extensive garden to sit out in the evening sun and admire the planting. As former B and B hosts ourselves, we appreciate what goes in to make guests feel at home but most importantly, enjoy the hosting experience. This is a new corner of Northumberland for us to discover and we would very much like to return to enjoy the area.
