Turn left downstairs and walk for 5 seconds to find a little-known hidden gem recommended by the Michelin Guide, a Kyoto old machiya restaurant. Step out of the accommodation and you can taste the flavours of the ancient capital of Kyoto in a space full of history. The food is delicious and the prices are very reasonable, making it a rare local experience. In addition, if you turn right outside the building, in less than a minute, you will find a street of gourmet restaurants in the old townhouses [Kagariya Koji Kaikan], where you can also taste famous Kansai specialties. There is a 7-Eleven downstairs with a wide selection of rice balls, bread, coffee, fruit and various meals. About a 3-minute walk away, there is also [Gekiyasu Supermarket], the most worthwhile and cost-effective supermarket in all of Kyoto, with a wide range of fresh produce, seafood, fruit, bread and everyday items, and prices are generally more affordable than nearby supermarkets! The room features a comfortable double bed, a private balcony and a large kitchen that retains the Showa style, allowing you to experience the irreplaceable real life of Kyoto. It is suitable for 2-3 people to stay comfortably. In March 2026, the bathroom and bathtub were completely renovated. Aluminium doors and windows, a washing machine and basic cooking equipment combine retro features with modern comfort. The building has a lift, making it easier to carry large luggage, a pram or travel with the elderly. Family and friends travelling together can book multiple rooms separately; rooms with the same first English letter in their names are on the same floor.
