This area is called Shimawara, one of the six former flower districts, and is the oldest of them, so you can see old traditional Japanese-style architecture within walking distance. The location of the hotel is in a place where you can walk to downtown area of Kyoto and famous temples. It is a very convenient place.

Guesthouse Keiko is a cozy and beautifully decorated traditional Japanese guesthouse, located just south of Kyoto Imperial Palace Park and a few meters west of Teramachi Street. Major bus routes and the subway are just a few minutes’ walk from the front door, making it easy to explore Kyoto. The downtown area is about a 10-minute walk away, and Nijo Castle is also nearby. You can easily reach the Gion area by bus as well.

Machiya Stay in Gojo, Near Gion and Kyoto Sta.

The house was an Ochaya (literally "tea house")before and we renovated it, which is an establishment where patrons are entertained by geisha. We kept the original structure and make it much more modern and comfortable. The river in front of the house is the must-see in Kyoto changing from cherry bloom to maples. The best location near Gojo bridge and Kiyomizuーgojo sta. can make it very convenient to all the famous spots.
