We are renting out an entire old house that is over 100 years old, located in the rural area of Noto, Shikamachi. This is not a tourist destination.Surrounded by fields and mountains, you wake up in the morning to the sound of birds, and at night it is surprisingly quiet.The kitchen is lined with tools for a lifestyle that includes fermentation, such as miso and pickles, which has been passed down in this region.The greatest feast in this house is the "everyday life" where nothing special happens. We used furniture inherited from local homes and flooring from a demolished temple.It is a space where the time of this land remains, with the scratches and tree rings intact. This accommodation is standardly room-only. We also offer experiences such as campfires, plant dyeing, and making local home-cooked meals upon request (reservation required).The guides are local people who have lived here for a long time. Noto cottage "Hinoki no ie" is a wooden house with Onsen (Hot spring). Surrounded by the nature of the Noto area, it's located right in-between of Kanazawa and Oku-Noto (about 1 hour by car which is recommended) making it convenient for sightseeing. You can relax in the living room, the tatami room or the cozy open space. The bath, made of hinoki (Japanese cypress) When you step into the bathroom your whole body is enveloped in the scent of the wood. The house is also very close to the ocean.
