Guesthouse holiday rentals in Shenandoah River

An extremely welcoming place that had many things to do and accommodating our autistic children very well! It was a shame we didn't get the chance to make s'mores! We would love to come back to this place sometime since it is so peaceful and homey! We watched older movies that we forgot about! Thanks for the DVDs!

I can't wait to go back! The house itself was more than comfortable for 2 very large dogs and my husband and I. The property is very serene, private and just beautiful! Sitting outside you can watch their 3 horses in the pasture or look at the lake (or walk around it) with it's gorgeous white water lilies. If your looking for a place to destress or just looking for a quiet area, this is the place. My dog's go 160 and 114, so you can bring your pups here too

This is a beautiful, private place with amazing nature. We saw deer and hummingbirds, and they were pretty close to us. This place has a wonderful cat (Mr. Moo) who will give you much love! It is a bummer that we didn’t see dogs, but we got to see the chickens and got eggs from them! Amazing place! Although we may not hear beautiful sounds like others mentioned, we felt the peace and mindless presence. We enjoyed our time, and it was a perfect place for our short retreat.

We had a great stay! Check in instructions were clear and the space was clean and well-kept. Check out was a breeze as well. Monica was always responsive and friendly.

Very beautiful Airbnb !!! Private and very quiet neighborhood , everything we needed was in the unit down to the Keurig pods , extra perk for the rice cooker and Instapot. The bed was spacious and very comfortable It was like being in our own oasis Lots of memorable moments and will always cherish our time there Check out as a breeze and will definitely come back again if we need another get away

Loved the place. Terrific ambiance. William was a great host and very friendly and helpful. All the extra candy was a very nice touch as well.

Martha's place is a lovely retreat. There is enough privacy between the main house and the guest house. The guest house is spacious and comfortable with a great screened in porch and access to the pool. It's in a quiet and peaceful area. I look forward to coming back again.

My boyfriend and I had a wonderful weekend at Scott and Christi's place. It's very peaceful and we appreciated how friendly and helpful they are. There are ducks, horses, and chickens on the property which you can appreciate from the screened-in porch while sipping your coffee. The drive to Charlottesville is relatively short and very scenic; the house is also close to many popular wineries. We also got some snacks upon our arrival! I appreciate the little ways Scott and Christi went the extra mile to make our stay an enjoyable one!

The bed is probably the most important thing for us when choosing a rental. The master bedroom bed was excellent. The second bedroom, not so much. But if you don’t have back issues, it’s ok. We are really bed snobs 🥺

We enjoyed our stay at the loft. Linda was very helpful and responsive when we had a few minor issues/questions during our first day check in. You could tell Linda put a lot of thought into ensuring guests had all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay. We had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The A/C thermostat and some of the light/fan switches were located downstairs which was a minor annoyance if you need to make frequent adjustments. This was not a big concern for us, just something to note for those who have limited mobility going up and down stairs. Overall we had a great stay and would recommend it to others.

Alma’s place was fully renovated, beautiful finishes, gorgeous floors, super comfortable beds and impecable bathrooms. Kitchen was modern and had everything needed for cooking. Excellent location and walking distance grocery store. Alma was friendly and promptly answer all of our questions. She also allowed us to leave our luggage before check in time. We had a wonderful time and will be back for sure!

My husband and I had a delightful stay at Chris Zarconi's Airbnb. We were in town for our son's graduation, and having this lovely place to come home to in-between events, was very comforting and peaceful. I enjoyed morning coffee listening to the birds outside the sliding door. The neighborhood was lovely and I was able to walk each morning. I would definitely come again should I need a place to stay in DC.

I traveled with my mother for the weekend and had a pleasant stay. It's super quiet with beautiful greenery everywhere! I loved the big, beautiful painting on the wall. We had everything we needed. There are many places to shop, just a short drive up the road. Stacey was there when we arrived. I recommend booking your stay.

Enjoyed a great stay here during World Pride! Very walkable to the Metro. Felt safe walking around late at night. Space was clean with a very comfortable bed. Would definitely recommend!

La Casita was perfect for our needs. It’s great for a couple of small family and packs a lot into a small space. The house is well-maintained and is in a great location for events at UVA, as well as easy access to downtown Charlottesville. Laura was friendly and responsive, and provided clear instructions and useful information. We would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful place, just as described. Clean, quiet, comfortable, bright and airy, even on the rainy day when we checked in. Best check in directions, with photos, we have encountered in a while. We will stay here again next time we visit Alexandria.

Peaceful, bucolic accommodations, close to areas in Northern VA and DC especially if traveling by car.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The place was cozy and private with our own bathroom/shower, microwave/mini fridge, and washer/dryer. Everything was just as described and the complimentary water bottles were a nice added bonus. Would stay again!

A beautiful peaceful setting with lots of wildlife around. Christina was always very responsive whenever I asked a question or needed something. a great place to stay near to family to celebrate Thanksgiving.

We really enjoyed the caretaker's cottage located within minutes of our family gathering nearby. We appreciate the efforts made by John and Fiona to retain the historic authenticity and charm of the property while adding some 21st century amenities. The only regret is that we did not accept the offer of fresh eggs from their henhouse. Perhaps next time...
