Farmstay holiday rentals in Shenandoah River

An extremely welcoming place that had many things to do and accommodating our autistic children very well! It was a shame we didn't get the chance to make s'mores! We would love to come back to this place sometime since it is so peaceful and homey! We watched older movies that we forgot about! Thanks for the DVDs!

We were in town for a wedding and this place was perfect for 5 of us. Everything was exactly as advertised. Would definitely stay there again!!!

Too little space to describe how much we loved The Spring House. I needed a little getaway after a busy year of teaching and this was just the thing. Ilse made check-in super easy and was so accommodating with our schedules. The scenery was BEAUTIFUL, nestled on their little farm and though we were close to their farmhouse it felt so secluded and private. Waking up to birdsong and coffee on the porch will be a lifelong memory. I hope to come back soon and have already been raving about this spot to all my friends ✨🦋

I had a wonderful stay at 7 Elms. I had to come to the area for a work event in Gainesville, and my team and I decided to stay at this AirBNB. It was so lovely. Such a cool restoration of an old farmhouse, and the property was serene and wonderful. We didn't have time to explore the area, as we were working so much and long hours. the only thing I can speak to is the grocery store - and it had everything. We saw a bunch of wild animals during morning coffee time, and that was really special. I don't think I've actually ever seen groundhogs in person, and there's a hysterical duo that run the show. The hosts were easy to communicate with.

Wow, Sylvanside was breathtakingly beautiful! It might be one of the most peaceful and gorgeous places I've stayed at through Airbnb. The grounds were perfect for strolling around, looking at farm animals or wildlife. And inside, the Hunt Box was comfortable and perfectly appointed. I spent a fair amount of time just staring out that beautiful bay window in the bedroom. Highly, highly recommend if you want to get away from it all (while still being within fifteen minutes of great restaurants and breweries). I can't wait to come back!

Jimmie and Jacki were super great hosts! Quick communicators. Helpful during our stay. Willing to be flexible as we were in town for a wedding. Was a great Airbnb!

Best Airbnb experience, the place was spotless, well stocked and had incredible views. Easy drive from DC, great hiking in the National park nearby. The hot tub was fantastic, secluded so you relax. I didn’t use the barn space but it looked amazing. I loved the fire pit. I can’t remember seeing many sunsets without houses or buildings in the view… here you can. This is the one airbnb I would want to come back to consistently. Great hosts, perfect for a getaway to West Virginia for some peace and quiet. Next time I’ll stay longer now that I know what to expect.

I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of my stay here. It is a piece of Heaven tucked away on acres full of trees and nature. James and Alix are fantastic hosts who are available for anything, and they offered recommendations for hiking, restaurants, etc. The studio space was exactly what I needed, had everything available for cooking meals, laundry, a heated bathroom floor, huge shower, and a comfortable bed. I had my morning coffee on the screened-in porch, which has a perfect view of the property. Roo, their sweet pup, was there to greet me every time I left and returned (which was inviting and comforting). I will definitely be back!

This place was beautiful, quiet, clean and had so many extra amenities. The heated pool was great, even on the rainy days! We enjoyed the HBO Max on multiple TVs in the house and even on the porch! The creek was great too for the kids to explore. We were glad we had saved the check in key code ahead of time, as we had no reception until on the cabin’s wifi. Brandon was VERY responsive when we had questions. We definitely hope we are able to stay at the cabin again! Just wish we didn’t have to leave!!

We stayed at this Airbnb for a bachelorette weekend with six adults, and it was absolutely beautiful—both inside and out. Three of us stayed upstairs, while the other three used the bunk beds, which were surprisingly comfortable and conveniently located near a full bathroom on the same floor. We were especially relieved to have a screened-in porch, which made it easy to enjoy the outdoors without worrying about bugs. The house was thoughtfully stocked with essentials, including a charming coffee bar and plenty of towels. Overall, we’d absolutely recommend this spot for a fun and relaxing mountain getaway!

My husband and I spent our first night away after our kiddo was born and it was wonderful! Being able to relax with no agenda (or nap schedules) in such a beautiful place was amazing. The school house was so nice and we loved all of the little school house decor throughout the place. Everything was clean and pristine! The hot tub was a wonderful way to unwind! We spent less than 24 hours here but it was worth it. Hope to be back again! Thank you for letting us stay!

This is our third time staying at Carolyn and Dan’s and it will not be our last. My husband and I truly can’t say enough positives about this amazing place and even more amazing couple. We were a combined bunch of 8 adults and a 3 yr old. We had an incredible time, despite having a week of mostly rainy weather. There is plenty to do in the house and it is very comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked with small appliances and utensils. The house is kid-friendly and has all you need to entertain the kids and accommodate toddlers. The location is quiet and secluded, but close enough to a variety of attractions to keep you busy in good weather. We had a precious time and were sad to leave. Jenny was very communicative and responsive. She provided us with all the details we needed to enjoy the stay.

The Great Escape was a true escape! Both the tangible and intangible amenities are top-notch. The location of the home was perfect, not far from the city, quiet and serene. With easy access to everything. The view of the mountains, sunsets, and sunrises are beyond beautiful. The home was clean, peaceful, and beautifully decorated. The positive, encouraging words posted throughout the home reflected the love and peace that is present! The daily devotional on the sofa table was certainly comforting. Heather (the host) was quick to respond to my messages and inquiries. She was very gracious. We had a wonderful stay and highly recommend this listing. I will definitely stay here again in the future. Note if traveling with elderly travelers. There are no grab bars available, and in order to access the front door, there is a long stepped walkway with no hand rails.

Beautiful place, everything was top of the line quality from the appliances to the softest bed linens. It’s like going to a high-end spa in the mountains. All the essentials are there. We even had a s’mores kit for the fire pit. Bed was super comfortable! The setting was very peaceful and relaxing and felt very private even though the friendly hosts were nearby if you needed anything. The farm animals including a baby goat on the property are super adorable. While enjoying the hot tub you are at harmony with the wilderness- we even saw a deer pass by. Highly recommend this Airbnb!!!

We had a very relaxing and comfortable stay on this beautifully kept property. I enjoyed sitting on the front porch with my coffee to listen to the birds and take in the scenic views. We took advantage of the hot tub after a long day at wineries :) Very clean, all the amenities you could ask for (I can't even think of any that could be added?!), and very easy checkout. Host messaged a couple of times to ensure we had everything we needed. Enjoyed our stay and would definitely book again!

Loved staying at the Bunkhouse! Really nice and quiet. Perfect getaway for when you want to get out if the city. Lots of cool things to do close by. Maureen was super friendly and fast in all her communications. Would definitely love to come back!

You would be hard pressed to find a better place to stay. The house was very comfortable and relaxing. When we’re back in the area this will be our go to place.

We really enjoyed our stay. The decor is unique and bold but also very comfortable. The alpacas are great too. My kids loved feeding them off the porch.

Joan was a wonderful host! Very helpful with things to do in the area and a wealth of information about the property! The Mill is very eclectic and has such awesome decor! We loved all the care and love that has been put into this home. It has a great hot tub ,water wheel, lights and a very soothing creek below the Mill. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay!

This AirBnB was just as described and exceeded our expectations! It was so peaceful and relaxing that we wish we could have spent more time just enjoying the place itself! It does take 45 min-1 hr to get to Shenandoah National Park, but there are lots of wineries and restaurants nearby! We had a great stay and would definitely visit again if we find ourselves in the area again!

We had a wonderful stay here! Matt and Kelly were communicative through our visit, instructions for check in/out were easy to follow, and the house was so cozy and secluded -- exactly what we hoped for! We would absolutely love to stay here again in the future!
