Holiday rentals with lake access in Shannondale

I needed a break after selling my home and retiring - this little spot was just the remedy for me and my pup. Rustic, but clean and comfortable. Private, but convenient for amenities close by. I enjoyed my stay there immensely and would highly recommend it for those looking for a quiet getaway in a beautiful locale.

We all loved our stay! Beautiful home & view. Our dogs loved the fenced in yard. Becky was so kind and made sure we were all set up for a great stay. We can't wait to visit again.

Our family loved our stay at Ken's place. The house was extremely clean, the listing gave us a great feeling going into the rental, and we were not disappointed upon arrival. The property and scenery were fantastic. Our kids loved going out onto trails, creek, hot tub, local lake, and feeding the animals. We all wish we booked a longer stay and we will be back in the near future.

Fantastic property, fantastic hosts. A+. So many amenities, nothing was overlooked. Very clean and orderly. Loved the layout. Screened in porch was perfect, patio, hot tub, use of kayaks, freshly baked bread, entire interior was awesome. I’m telling you, nothing was overlooked in making our stay so memorable. We had an amazing time at this beautiful riverfront home in Harpers Ferry! It was fully equipped with everything we needed for a perfect stay. The screened-in porch was our go-to spot for relaxing, and the hot tub was a highlight after long days of exploring. We also had so much fun with all the games provided—it made our group nights unforgettable. The house was clean, spacious, and very comfortable, with a peaceful location that let us truly unwind. A huge thank you to Morgan, who was super responsive and helpful throughout the entire process. She answered our messages quickly and gave us all the info we needed, making everything smooth and stress-free. Highly recommend this place for a group getaway. We’re already planning our return trip!

Absolutely the Best Airbnb Experience We’ve Ever Had! This was our first vacation with our 9-month-old daughter, and it couldn’t have gone more perfectly. The house was exactly as described—immaculately clean, extremely spacious, and thoughtfully designed. We loved everything about the space. The hosts were outstanding—very responsive and checked in with us multiple times to ensure we had everything we needed. We even had the pleasure of meeting Deb while they were working on a nearby property—she was so warm and friendly! We’re already planning to return to one of their homes this fall because the experience was that incredible. We also loved how much there was to explore in the area. Highly recommend—this was easily the best stay we’ve ever had. Thank you for being so professional, welcoming, and kind!

It rained almost every day, but the house was nice and cozy, perfect for reading and doing puzzles. We had a relaxing time which is what we were after

What a lovely place to stay! It is beautifully decorated and has all the amenities that you could want. It's also very private, with a gorgeous, wooded back yard. One of the things I noticed as soon as I walked in is how spacious the 2-bedroom unit is. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit and will be back again!

Robert's place was unbelievably peaceful. We enjoyed the view of the near mountain, the sound of the river wrapping around the property, the soothing acreage of organically grown waving grasses (harboring deer and foxes), a few stands of small trees, a plethora of bird houses near enough the house and a deck for taking it all in! One end of the Deer Rapid suspension bridge is right at the end of the driveway. We brought tubes expecting the river to be lazy like it was in 2023 but this time it was far fuller! Had we more time, we would have rented kayaks, had smores every night or hiked up the way. Everything was user friendly; we appreciated the printed binder, too! The overall cleanliness and air quality of the apartment and drinkability of the tap water were particularly good and worthy of mention! We felt the generosity of the host in every thoughtful detail. We encountered one little problem but which Robert bent over backwards to rectify, again showing great kindness. Such peace!

I’ve stayed here multiple times when coming into town for a hike. It’s quiet, functional, easy get away from the city.

I took a short walk through the neighborhood to a path in the woods surrounding a small lake, so peaceful! And I enjoyed meeting the wild rabbits in the backyard. Kitchen is well equipped although I am not a big fan of Keurig coffee makers. I was busy during the day and mostly avoided the family noise coming from upstairs, finding it very peaceful and I slept comfortably. I would definitely stay again if in the area!

Such a great stay! We needed a weekend out of the city and this was the perfect place. Close to plenty of restaurants and things to do in Fredrick but far away enough that you can relax and enjoy the views of the river and the quiet.

Beautiful home in a beautiful area. The booking process had extra steps that I've never had to do before like uploading a photo of my driver's license and answering several questions about our family. I felt a little uncomfortable giving all that info out, but we had to book last minute due to a family funeral and didn't have a lot of options. All in all we did have a nice stay. Everything was beautiful, well organized, and suited our needs.

The cottage was exactly what we wanted for our family mountain getaway. We loved the Mountain View, hot tub and surrounding scenery. WiFi worked perfectly well. It had basically everything we needed. Unfortunately we couldn’t enjoy the river because it flooded prior to the stay but that would have been icing on the cake. Would highly recommend this rental for a scenic outdoor WV getaway!

We had a wonderful stay at this Airbnb near Luray. The views were absolutely stunning — peaceful mountains and rolling hills all around. We visited the Luray Caverns, which were truly breathtaking, and made a stop in Woodstock for some amazing BBQ. The house was cozy, clean, and perfect for relaxing with friends. We spent our evenings laughing, playing games, and enjoying the quiet. It was the perfect spot to unwind and make lasting memories.

Only needs a weekend spot to attend a wedding in Winchester. The house is way up on the mountain, so going in/out was a bear. Pretty much get what you need before heading up. The morning view across the valley is beautiful. The house had everything I needed. Bring bug spray if you’re going to go walk around.

The house was beautiful, spacious and spotless. Furniture and beds were very comfortable and well-appointed. Views were amazing. Quiet and serene environment. Josephine was very responsive and helpful. They did not require tedious clean up before check-out. We would stay here again.
