Farmstay holiday rentals in Salt Spring Island

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Foxglove Farm - it is a beautiful property, featuring chickens/roosters, organic produce and a large deck to enjoy our meals at. Our host was friendly and reliable, and made us feel right at home. I cannot recommend this property enough - and definitely suggest purchasing their ‘produce basket’ to enjoy farm fresh eggs and veggies. We cannot wait to come back one day!

We loved (!) our stay at Peter's remarkable home on Galiano Island. It is situated on what is probably the sweetest spot on Montague Harbour -- overlooking the comings and goings of sailboats and other watercraft in this sheltered and lovely bay. When sunset comes around, the panorama views are just the best. And it comes with its own private dock, a very short stroll away. The views from the home's wrap-around porch and from the deck chairs on the patio are really great, and there's nothing lacking on the inside either in terms of appearance, comfort, and charm. Inside and out, this place is an absolute gem, and it was a privilege to stay there. Thank you, Peter, for making it available, and thank you for being such a great communicator in response to my many questions about ferry times and directions and everything else. I hope we have the good fortune of staying here again someday!

This stunning location boasts incredible design and beautiful surroundings. Staying in the Sanctuary house and the Ecovillage was certainly a delightful experience. If you care about sustainability and the environment, this place is a fantastic attraction in itself, offering the opportunity to live in a sustainable community and connect with like-minded individuals. It's important to mention that this isn't a typical vacation spot: there are restrictions in place, such as prohibiting non-biodegradable personal products (organic and biodegradable alternatives are provided for free); you must squeegee the walls and dry the floor after showering; and there is no kitchen—just a sink, a mini fridge, an electric kettle, and a few mugs. Additionally, the main entrance door lacks a lock, and the bathroom lock was non-functional, though this seems to be a temporary issue. Despite these points, we enjoyed a comfortable and pleasant stay, and Brandy was very nice and friendly.

We had a great time at Lydia’s farm cottage. We enjoyed meeting the goats and pot bellied pig. The garden out back had great strawberries and blackberries, as well as others. The location was great for our kayaking and whale watching trips out of Deer Harbor, as well as great hiking at nearby Turtleback mountain. All in all, a quiet and relaxing home for our first visit to Orcas Island.

This place is a gem! We brought our four small children here (ages 2-7), and it was great for all of us. There were lots of toys and games for them plus non-breakable plates and glasses. We enjoyed relaxing with amazing views from the porch. The kayaks were lots of fun! Such a great, relaxing family vacation spot. Bob is a wonderful host, too! It felt like we stayed at a friend’s beach house.

I have to say that this was the BEST Airbnb experience I’ve ever had. Everything was so artfully curated and I felt like I never wanted to leave. Kate is a great person and I would definitely recommend taking her up on her horse lessons. I’ve been riding my whole life and she is a fountain of knowledge in so many ways. I would definitely recommend coming to stay at her cottage and see for yourself the care and beauty of the land and what orcas has to offer. I will definitely be back!

My extended family enjoyed every minute at Jennifer's place. She was a fantastic host- excellent communication, friendly and generous. The view from the house is amazing and the property peaceful. The kitchen is very well stocked and we enjoyed cooking dinners in. The beds were comfortable and we all had plenty of space. We enjoyed the firepit, the hot tub, the goats and chickens, and the fresh garden. We were lucky enough to see the new baby chicks that had just arrived. We could not have asked for anything more from this stay. This is a very special place and we're grateful that Jennifer shared it with us.

We loved our stay at Jody’s place. It was such a beautiful, peaceful location. Jody was an amazing host and very responsive. I would definitely stay here again!

Tara’s place was perfect for our stay in Salt Spring Island! The cabin was absolutely beautiful, cozy and clean, and Tara went above and beyond to make us feel at home. Super clear check-in/check-out instructions, tons of local recommendations, and always so responsive if we had any questions. And we loved having the company of the goats and alpacas :) Would absolutely love to stay again if we make it back to Salt Spring and would recommend her place to anyone looking for a Gulf Island getaway

Frankly, not enough text space to summarize this whole place but will try my best. First holiday for my wife and myself as first time parents with a newborn, the hosts were incredibly accomodating & ensured the best fit for a little family and new borns first holiday, they were most welcoming and hospitable. Farm products available for purchase are top quality and freshly made from the farm itself - perfect! A tour was provided free of charge and we got the full history of the site and the buildings with a closer look into the architecture and livestock onsite. The Granary was spotless and pristine, the interior decorating/furniture suited the history of the restorated Granary. The building has such character inside and out - the best part is, all the restoration materials were from the existing Granary itself! Scenery surrounding is beautiful, listen to the sounds of the variety of birds and trees, grab your binoculars and get out on the deck! Bath, unreal. Wifi, who needs it? 10/10

The accommodation was well-furnished and spacious. Kitchen and bathroom were generous and well-equipped. So grateful we could walk through the farm as much as we liked. A bowl of freshly- picked strawberries from our hosts was a lovely gesture. We’d love to stay again.

This was one of my favourite airbnbs I’ve ever stayed! The photos do not do it justice. The cabin is beautiful and cozy. Our favourite part of this stay was the two border collies that followed us around we absolutely adored them. The skylight above the bed at night with the stars was unreal.

Valeries’s place lives up to the reviews and description. Very well kept little cottage adjacent to the main house, the overall property is stunning, worth exploring! True Airbnb experience. They were extremely kind and provided us with treats throughout our stay. Welcomed us with a bottle of wine. Provided breakfast basket on our first morning. The espresso machine did not work but they offered to make us coffee, I had a delicious cappuccino. I would 100% come back.

My stay at the Oystercatcher was exactly what I hoped it would be. There was lots to do and restaurants to eat at nearby. In the evening I came back to the lovely farm and enjoyed my time on the deck. Will be back!

We loved staying at Bernadette's! The location was beautiful and it was so fun to watch all the animals from the deck. It was super clean, the bed was comfortable and the tour of the farm was so fun! We hope to stay for longer next time.

Adam's home is a perfect place for a group. Huge commercial kitchen, pool / fuse ball tables and a large sectional couch for get togethers. Rooms are massive with balconies. Hope to return. Thx, Adam.

This is a stunning, restful, get away! Would have liked to stay many days. As a horse person I absolutely loved being around them. Bonus to have a piano to play! Comfortable beds, fully functional kitchen and nice to have additional half bathroom. We sat out on the deck in the evening to enjoy the night sky. Attentive hosts. Highly recommend. Wish we could have stayed longer.

This place is absolutely wonderful!! Spacious, spotless, comfortable, quiet and in an idyllic setting. Fresh flowers, fruit, granola, eggs added a level of specialness to this already great place. Aaron was friendly, helpful and communication before and during our stay was great. This will be our 1st choice when staying on Gabriola. It’s a special place.

We had a lovely stay at this 1940s cottage. It is located in an area that provides a lot of privacy. The views from the house and outdoor patio were stunning! We enjoy walking to the little beach and spending alone time there looking for various sea critters. We saw seals swimming in the water from the house. The house is wonderfully decorated and the bed was very comfortable. Our messages to Caitlin and Susan were returned quickly and always contained helpful information. We highly recommend this lovely stay on Orca island! Thank you for the unforgettable memories!

The property is absolutely beautiful and Heidi is the perfect host. Upon check-in, we were greeted with flowers, a basket of fruit, and makings for a great breakfast. The space is large, clean, and very well appointed. The property is so nice that it was difficult to leave to explore the Island! 🤣 Heidi was very warm and welcoming. She made sure that we were happy and was very responsive. Communications were wonderful. We were a group of 8 and never felt like we were in each other’s way. Thanks you for a wonderful visit!!

Nice house and very good host!

We absolutely loved our stay at this beautiful, quirky home. We had lots of space to come together and our own little nooks to retreat for some quiet time. The kids loved learning to swim in the pool. We all enjoyed exploring the property which is full of little discoveries and surprises to delight. Waking up to birdsong was so lovely. It's close to beaches (drive or bike) and trails (walkable). We are already planning our next visit. Thank you for your hospitality.

We had a great 3-night stay at Bonnie and Dave's place. We enjoyed the peaceful rural setting, the hot tub, and the outdoor fire pit. Bonnie and Dave even let us put up our tent in front of the Airbnb, so that my husband and son could have a bit of a "camping" experience--something our son had wanted to do all summer. The kitchen was well-equipped for making family meals, and we appreciated Bonnie's freshly baked muffins, eggs, and other food she left for us. The location of the Airbnb worked well for a fun day trip to Salt Spring Island via the Crofton ferry, being only a 15-20 minute drive from Crofton, and it was only about a 40-minute drive from the Kinsol Trestle section of the Cowichan Valley Trail, which we enjoyed biking along. Bonnie, Dave, and their dog, Sawyer, were away during our stay, so we didn't get to meet them on this visit, but they were always prompt, helpful, and friendly with all their communications. Thanks again for a great stay, Bonnie and Dave!

We were 2 couples visiting the province for a family gathering. This place was absolutely perfect for us! Spacious, clean and beautifully decorated homes. The gardens are gorgeous and we grew attached to all the lovely animals outside the front door! The rural setting was close to all the urban places we visited....and we enjoyed getting to know the surrounding area. Krista was responsive and helpful....and gave us lots of great tips! This is the best airbnb experience we have ever had!
