Philippe responded quickly to my questions before we arrived, gave clear instructions and his place was easy to find. The private parking and laundry facilities were much appreciated and the garden setting was lovely. He and his wife were usually around to make sure everything was working for us and he made a reservation for us at a recommended local restaurant, which was a great experience. It was very hot while we were there for the walk into town across the bridge, but there is a local bus, with the stop right near the apartment. We stayed for a week and found Amboise to be a good base for visiting this part of the Loire Valley. We would certainly recommend Philippe's place and would stay there again ourselves if we were ever back in the area.

La Quintessence was the perfect place to stay for a long weekend in Amboise. The apartment is spacious and comfortable, with everything you could need to use. Sophie is a great host, with a long list of great recommendations which made the weekend easy and enjoyable. I would definitely come back!

Very well maintained, arranged and decorated house. Very quiet. There is every comfort and nothing is missing! It's very spacious. The small deckchair area, table/barbecue are a plus to enjoy the outdoors. Fred was very welcoming and attentive. A very good place to stay with family or friends and explore the region. You can't find a better service that perfectly matches the description on the site. The humility of our hosts in relation to their "novitiate" in AirB&B and their desire to receive any criticism or proposal for improvement are very commendable. But as it is stated in many reviews published before mine, Jean-Noël and Cathy are already at the top. Also, any improvements will be minor details compared to the general situation. Thanks again to them for the pleasant stay we had at their place.
