House holiday rentals in Saint-Yrieix-sur-Charente

This is a beautiful place to stay on the banks of the Charente which we enjoyed from the canoe but just loved seeing it flowing along edging the grounds. We came on the train which is a very easy journey from Paris to Jarnac. It is then less than an hours walk along the cycle path or quicker along the very quiet road. The market in Jarnac is excellent and there’s some nice cafes and bars. In Bourg Charente itself the bar tabac sells morning baguette and croissants, especially good to put an order in the day before. Also in the village La Ribaudiere restaurant was absolutely amazing and an experience not to be missed. So this is a great place to stay if you are car free like us but bicycles really help too especially with direct access to the 400 km path La Flow Velo. Lots of fun! Thanks to Andrea and Dominic.

We fell in love with this living space where we disconnect from the arrival The house is beautiful and thoughtful❤️ I am delighted to have spent my birthday down there and in addition sun at will. Wow!! Marie's house was beautiful and in lovely, tranquil surroundings. We were a party of 5 and the house and amenities were perfect. It was great to have a swimming pool to cool off from the summer sun. We booked for a week at a late stage but from the first enquiry to Marie and throughout our time there Marie was always very quick and helpful to respond. We absolutely recommend this wonderful house and host, but hopefully there will still be the opportunity for us to book again when we are in the Charente.

We stayed at Elodie’s house for four months and it was a great stay! The home is beautiful and clean. Location is great for peace and quiet while being close to Cognac. Last but not least, the hosts Elodie and Greg are welcoming and helpful with anything you might need. Will definitely stay again!

What a fantastic converted barn we stayed in at Christine’s gite. It was spotlessly clean, and immaculate exactly as described on Airbnb. A lovely swimming pool and very responsive hosts. We had the most amazing quiet and peaceful time exploring the local towns and villages and nearby castles.

House perfect for 2 people. To be integrated: a staircase to serve the mezzanine which can be a little rough but perfectly secure.

Perfect location to discover Angouleme and its area . The house is well-equipped, sleeps very well, quiet, and the small garden allows you to have coffee in the sun!

a charming house in a quiet residence, close to everything, clean with the comfort described , we were there for a wedding weekend, so we went back and forth hoping not to have disturbed the neighbors too much with our comings and goings. only the rainy weather was against us . I highly recommend for a relaxing moment rest in the area . We were there so good that we would have liked to extend it. If I have to come back it will be with my eyes closed. kind regards

We had a wonderful stay in this perfect home for a family! The place is as described: spacious, very clean, quiet and surrounded by nature. Florian is an exceptional host: responsive, kind and very attentive. Whether you need to rest or take care of yourself indoors, everything is planned. We would definitely recommend this address and will be happy to come back!

We had booked Hermine's house for 9 nights, were very, very friendly received by the co-host Mélanie, who looked after us very nicely in person or by phone during our entire stay with all questions. The house is very nice, cozy and tastefully decorated. The kitchen has everything you need. For us, the location was ideal because we like peace and seclusion. The surrounding villages are very small and tranquil, but you can shop nearby. We did some bike tours, the paths are well developed. We also enjoyed Angoulème very much. All in all a nice stay and perfect care! Merci beaucoup à Mélanie! Note: The stairs to the upper floor are beautiful but not suitable for people who are not good on their feet. You must not enter with shoes, it has no handrail and is very irregular and smooth. But that was no problem for us.

Very good stay with Daniel and Christine, a very nice welcome with a little attention. Very quiet places for a relaxing holiday. Covered pool and Jacuzzi is great to enjoy it in all weather. Large and very functional house, small fenced garden and large garden with several games. Really pleasant stay with everything you need for a good holiday. With the bonus of good recommendations about the area and a little bit of very nice history ☺️
