We had a wonderful 3 days in Zoe's gorgeous apartment! It was lovely and homely and had everything we needed, and is only a very short walk to the shops, restaurants and cafes. There are plenty of walks to do around this area and we only used the car when we wanted to go to pubs that were a bit further out! Zoe was great at communicating in the run up to our stay and was a fantastic host to deal with. We felt in the end that 3 days was not quite enough and we hope to come back soon!

The apartment serves as the perfect base for those wanting to explore the Lake District. The ground floor unit is small but everything is beautifully laid out and well thought of. The kitchen is separated from the rest of the living space and it is clear that a lot of thoughts went into making this welcoming and comfortable. I would not hesitate to recommend this unit to anyone.

Great little find in Windermere. My wife and daughter stayed here for three nights. The apartment is spotless and really well decorated. Good location for exploring the Lakes. Sainsburys is a minutes walk away along with plenty of other useful shops. Parking was useful in the small courtyard.

I will be recommending this beautiful hidden gem of an apartment to everyone I know! By the end of the three days it felt like home and I looked forward to returning after a busy day exploring the Lakes! Zoe was great at staying in touch and Windermere is a great base for adventuring to the other Lakes.

A fabulous flat just a stone's throw from Windermere town centre. Clean and well equipped, it has everything you need for a short break. We stayed for four nights and absolutely loved it. Highly recommended for couples

It was great to have a spacious room with seating and a tv to catch up on the news. Particularly nice to have our own bathroom amenities. On arrival we realised we had the name of the road and postcode but the name of the house was missing, it is Hillside and is about half way along the road. Rebecca had asked us to provide an approximate arrival time this enabled Rebecca to keep a lookout for us and she saw us searching and gave is a excellent welcome including a cup of tea. Rebecca and Paul were great hosts and gave us helpful advice.

If you're coming to Windermere I would definitely recommend to stay there. The accommodation was absolutely lovely and the dog as well. The house and room were very clean, cozy and lovely. So perfect for us. Also in the morning Rebecca served warm and nice breakfast. Rebecca made us feel very welcomed. We bothered her so much in contacting and so on. But she was so kind and helped us. I don't know how to thank her. Again I would definitely recommend to stay.

Rebecca and her husband were very nice, friendly and very welcoming . The room was better than i expected and very clean, tidy and comfortable even the bathroom was very clean and spacious. I was with my own, she even called me to check that i was fine . The house is near the train station but you have to walk alot to get to the lake which is good if you like walking but you have to go back before the sunset because it will be very dark. But it was a great experience, thank you Rebecca

Rebecca runs a beautiful, family-run home. We arrived later than planned and were welcomed like old family friends and a cup of tea, a nice touch after a long delayed journey. The house is clean, comfortable and well located for both Windermere and Bowness. The room is large and very comfortable, and has some lovely views as its situated on a hill. Would definitely recommend!

Rebecca's house is big and quiet, clean. His husband is also very kind and easygoing. Good for living!

Great directions from Cecilia if I had read them properly! Cecilia is quick to respond to your messages and everything went really smoothly. Ivy Cottage is hidden away up a wooded driveway and in a lovely location with lots of wildlife. The cottage is warm and well equipped and has everything you need. There is a comprehensive guide both to the accommodation and the surrounding area and our only disappointment was that we could not stay longer. We hope to visit again in the future.

We really enjoyed staying at the Ivy cottage, it was perfect cosy get-away for a couple! Also, the location is great - it's really close to Windermere but at the same time feels like in the middle of nowhere and the only thing you can hear is birds singing!

We felt very welcome and our host even had maps of the area for us to use. the apartment was very spacious with what appeared a well equipped kitchen (we ate out!). Was situated just out of town, could easily walk it if needed, with plenty of walks in the immediate area. will hopefully stay again.

Cecilia was the perfect host. When we arrived she gave us a warm welcome. She explained everything we needed to know about the cottage. She also gave us tips on the area and what to see along with booklets of information and maps. Clear instructions for the cottage were also left with everything you could think of. The cottage was lovely and cosy. It was immaculate and it had all the utensils and pans you could need. All in perfect condition. The location is great. Just a short walk from Windermere and surrounded by public walks. I would definitely recommend staying here. We had a fantastic time.

An absolutely gorgeous cottage that is perfect for a stay in the Lake District! On first approaching the property you are treated to a lovely English country garden with handy off street parking. The property is decorated to a high standard with a fantastic view over the hills and maintains from the living room. The location is quiet and secluded but is only 15 minutes walk away to either Windermere or Bowness-on-Windermere... Sarah was a fantastic friendly host who was great on communication and provided a straightforward check in on arrival. My wife and I were very impressed with our stay and would definitely recommend Sarah and this fabulous property to anyone planning a trip to The Lakes 5/5 stars

Set half way between Bowness and Windermere, easily walking distance to both. Set off the main road in a quiet area with wonderful views. The cottage is perfect - everything you could want especially the comfy bed which was great after long walks. There is a cottage adjoining which would be great to book bother and go with friends. Sarah was lovely and the communication was great. Can't wait to go back !

I would highly recommend this comfy flat, situated in the centre of Windermere. It is quirky with lots of charm and very homely. We only stayed two nights (4 adults) but wish we could have stayed a few more. John was very helpful with great advice and lots of local knowledge. If you're looking for a quiet getaway then you should definitely use this as your base. The parking is great and there are some really cool bars / eateries in the area. Myself & 2 mates entered a cycle sportive and needed somehwere close and functional for a couple of nights. From start to finish, John was very helpful answering any questions very quickly and offering more and more helpful information. Appartment was brilliant (great selection of CD's John) right in the centre of town, private off street secure parking & ticked all the boxes. Definetley recomend this appartment.

The room is really great, clean, adequate facilities, from the railway station is also close, cost-effective. The landlord was very good, the day of departure also let us leave luggage to five pm.

Lovely little place :) Such a good place to stay if you've not got transport when you're there, it's just up the road from the train station and is perfectly located for coffee shops and the other places. It's a lovely 20min walk down to"Lake" Windermere. If you're driving, it also has space for parking which for us, was just what we needed. The accommodation has lots of little things that you would forget you need, so that was great. Had a great stay, thank you very much :)

The location of this place is perfect. Its located right in the centre and has the benefit of private parking. Sharon does make it clear this place is small; there is no lounge/dinning area but we found it warm and cosy which is what you want at the end of November. The space has everything you need for a perfect base to go and explore the lakes. We took our small dog and found the space very adequate for our needs. We will recommend to friends and family and likely go back again in the future.

We arrived Windermere on a rainy day and Carolyn kindly offered to pick us up and on the day we left Anthony had sent us back to the train station as well. The location is within walking distance from Windermere and it only takes about 15mins to walk to town Bowness as well. We absolutely feel like home at Carolyn's place where the room is cozy and clean, we got all we needed, the breakfast is totally fresh and nice as well. If I ever visit Windermere again I will definitely visit Carolyn and Anthony again!

The house is beautiful, clean and warm. We were welcomed by the host Anthony at the Windemere train station where he drove us to the house. The house is very close to both the Bouness Ferry Pier and the Windemere train station, both takes around 15 minute of walking. Host Carolyn is very helpful and friendly, not only she prepared breakfast for us, but also print out maps and transportation timetables. It is one of my best airbnb experience so far! Highly recommended!

Carolyn and her partner are very nice host. We loved staying there and talking to both. The house is very clean, everything is so well managed. Breakfast is her USP and Carolyn shared the recipe too. They helped us plan our day tour with valuable suggestions.

It was a great experience, the house was absolutely beautiful and so the (URL HIDDEN) was clean and tidy and the hosts were lovely, always making sure that we were ok. They left a little bottle of champagne in our room because they knew I was celebrating my birthday, that was very nice. The breakfast was excellent, everything homemade and the location of the house is very close to all amenities. My sister and I had a great stay at Carolyn's. The room had everything you could ask for, including magazines! Breakfast was amazing with lots of choice- fruit, cereal, homemade jams and croissants and toast. Thank you for having us. We would happily stay again!

I'm the first guest to live in her house. And it was proved to be a wonderful experience through my two days' stay. If you talk to her, Helena is a person with passion and enthusiasm and also positive attitude to life. I was impressed with the talk to her in the first night of my stay. You will inspired by her different life experience. I know people are tend to choose those most lived room and those with more good appraisals. But why not try some place people choose less, you may discover something new and exciting!

Great central location, comfy bed. Nice touches such as paintings and fresh flowers. Didn't meet Helena till just about to leave as she was away. Quite noisy (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) I never met, so all felt a bit strange. Very damp patch near window as radiator leaking.

The flat is in the perfect location and there are a lot of nice restaurants and supermarkets around. Dot is so nice, friendly and easy to communicate with. We strongly recommend this flat to everyone.

This room is as good as described. The position is great -- just next to the center of Windermere, and it is also very quiet that guarantee a sound sleep. The view from the window is peaceful. Dot is very nice and always willing to help. A wonderful choice.

Dot's place is the best location to stay at for a Lake District trip if you are not driving on your own as Windermere is connected with both rail and bus services. The ensuite room is as beautiful as shown in the pictures and Dot is always reachable for any advice.

This is a really lovely, clean room. Dot is really nice and helpful. I felt warm to be live with her. Also the location is good. It's easy to go other views. I think if you want to travel at Windermere, this house is the best choice you choose. ^_^

Windermere is a small town with beautiful scenery. Dot treated us as family members and gave us instructions for all kinds of activities in Lake District. It was a so lovely house. We had a nice walk in the town.

Dot's place is clean, cozy and makes you feel at home. It's about 10 minutes from the train station and has got some good eateries around! There's a bus stop just a stone's throw away - pretty convenient to travel around, even to the other side of the lake - and some very nice short walking trail/places nearby too! Ask Dot for recommendation! :))

We found the Den very comfortable, well equipped and convenient in every way for our few days walking in the southern Lakes area. Peter and Ali were very helpful, friendly and welcoming. Local amenities and services are excellent. We travelled from London by train and relied on the local buses which were efficient and reliable! A visit to Blackwell Arts and Crafts House (1 and a half miles up the road) is a must if you are that way inclined. We look forward to a return visit even if we can't have the same glorious weather guaranteed!

We had a great stay at Peters accomodation. It's very quaint, comfortable and warm. It's right in the heart of Bowness on Windermere and has shops , restaurants and the Lake just a few steps away. Really great communication and seamless check in. Appreciated the parking pass which we made good use of. We will certainly stay again when we come back to the Lake District. Highly recommended.

Perfect

The Den is a perfect little hidden gem, tucked away down a tiny alley but still just moments from a tiny shopping street in the heart of beautiful Bowness. We had a wonderful holiday here, walking, boating and sunning ourselves in the gorgeous Lake District. Peter and Ali were incredibly friendly and helpful, but also gave us plenty of space to get to know the area and enjoy the lovely little flat. We loved making log fires in the cosy living room, cooking and relaxing on the huge and amazingly comfy sofa and bed! Bowness is easy to get to, but feels a million miles from the hustle and bustle of the rest of the world. It's charming and delightful, and surrounded by incredibly beautiful landscape and literally on the edge of stunning Lake Windermere. This was a perfect mini holiday and we hope to be back soon!

My boyfriend took me away to the Lake District for my birthday and this place could not have been better for us - it was located just off one of the main pedestrian streets so was a perfect location but also felt tucked away from the huste and bustle. The apartment is beautifully decorated and feels very homely - we were more than happy to have a Saturday night in in front of the TV with a takeaway. The hosts, Peter and Ali, were great at communicating and also gave us plenty of great tips on where to eat etc. We also were delighted with the fact we could use the spa facilities in a nearby hotel - we used the gym and the swimming pool twice over the weekend. Could not recommend this place enough - really hope that we'll be back soon!

Enjoyed a wonderful one night stay at Jane and Steve's place last weekend. The house is beautiful and in a really quiet, peaceful location. Super comfy bed, cosy bathroom with great shower and we had use of the spacious guest living room (with fire) and utility/small kitchen. The continental breakfast was good and left out to enjoy at a time of our choosing, a nice touch. Although we only got to meet Steve, as Jane was away - he was very welcoming and super friendly. Had a lovely chat with him in the morning. Really appreciated the great communication with regards to check in time and arrangements. Very flexible and totally accommodating to our needs. Fantastic hosts, brilliant location and at a very reasonable price. Thanks for a delightful stay guys!

When the first time I saw Jane and Steve's house, I was surprised and wanted to say "wow" loudly. It's so big and good design. The room is exactly same to the picture in the website. I fall in love with the room design especially the color setting, and I believe I will never forget it anymore. Also they are so considerate and picked us up in the train station. What's more, they share useful information when we travelling the windermere. I have great time there and thanks for their friendliness.

Jane and Steve were great hosts, really friendly and welcoming. We appreciated their advice on which places close by were worth seeing (and where to get the best curry in Bowness). The room itself was just what we were looking for, and actually bigger than the picture suggests. The house was a short walk from the town centre, but still quiet. All in all, this is a great place to explore the Lakes from.

Jane and Steve were the most welcoming hosts. The home was easy to locate and accurate to listing. The bedroom and bathroom were nice and clean and very peaceful. Since we were on our honeymoon, they arranged to have prosecco and chocolates for us, which was very thoughtful of them. The location was great as walking to town only took 5 to 10 minutes. We would definitely love to stay here again if we were in the area and would highly recommend to others!

It's really a quite great and fantastic experience! Amazing house and beautiful garden. Jone and Steve are very friendly and enthusiastic. The room is warm and clean, and we have a so comfortable sleep. By the way, Jone and Steve have two very cuuuuuute Yorkshire terriers, they are all friendly and lovely. Great little cottage, perfect for exploring the Lake District.

Wastwater cottage is the perfect place for a few days away. Located within walking distance of both Windermere & Bowness, there is easy access to shops & restaurants, as well as everything the wider lakes has to offer. The cottage is well equipped, with a good kitchen, living space & double bedroom. Everything you need and with absolutely stunning views.

Carolyn was very welcoming. Her bedrooms was very comfortable and clean. My parents really enjoyed staying at her place. Location was excellent for people with/without excess to cars. It is located at a residential area and a walking distance to nearest town bowness-on-windermere. Would definitely stay there again on my next trip to Windermere.

This house is in a great location, is an ideal size and has a really well equipped kitchen. Staying in Windermere was perfectly central. The bed was comfy too. The house could have been cleaner, which made me a little concerned but I am sure that was a once off.

Sharon's house has enough place for us to do cooking and pack up. And very convenient place, just 5 minute walk to city center and railway station.

The four of us travelled up from Wales for a family wedding in Windemere, Sharons place proved perfect for this occasion. Her flat is very beautiful, decorated lovely, comfortable and is bigger than it looks in the photos, was a lovely little home for us for 3 nights! Everything we needed was there for us including all kitchen supplies etc. The place was very central to Windermere town, close to cute little shops, cafes etc and maybe a 10 minute drive to the lakes. Five stars all round. Lovely little place, good value, immaculately clean and the view is out of this world. Great base for exploring the Lakes on a budget.

We had a lovely stay in lake district , visited end of Sep 2015 for 2 nights. Very well located , petrol station just opposite. Our host was flexible with timings to collect the keys , which was very helpful as we were driving from a long distance.The caravan was clean & tidy with all necessary equipment.Picturesque views from the caravan. My parents loved the gardens around. Would highly recommend to my friends.Good internet connection available as well.

We had a very pleasant stay at this accommodation. Liz & Nev were warm and helpful. The accomodation was comfortable and the kitchen was extremely well equipped. I recommend this listing for a quiet and relaxed stay at the Lake District.

The cottage was lovely. Neat as a pin withe everything you need.

Had a fantastic stay. The caravan was immaculate, spacious and had everything we needed including unexpected extras like towels and milk. The shower was hot and powerful and the heating efficient and easy to use. The location was great for exploring the area. Thank you for a lovely break!

Liz and Nev's caravan was as described, comfortable and well-equipped, close to the main road between Kendal and Windermere. Lovely views over countryside from the living room window and the central heating was good for cool evenings. The location was good for the south Lakes area.
