  • This is such a lovely little place to stay ,the caravan is beautiful and everything you could need is thought of. We especially enjoyed the outside firepit, great for cooking meals on. Definitely a memorable experience ,would love to stay again sometime!

  • Our stay at Percy's Gypsy Wagon was, somehow, even better than we had expected. Despite the small size of the caravan, it was extremely well stocked, with lots of kitchenware and plenty of blankets (and a wood stove!). Andy and Vicky were kind, helpful, and attentive hosts, and Percy, Max, and the chicken were all delightful! I would highly recommend a stay here.

    Abigail2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • The wagon is truly fantastic! Perfect location and the hosts are great. They went the extra mile to make my stay special - nothing was too much.

  • Gorgeous cosy little spot! Exactly as described in the listing. Would recommend walking to the forest bakehouse for lunch!

  • Stunning, peacefully, tranquil, surreal, chilled, nostalgic I mean their would be so many ways to describe this place all of them good, thank you for allowing us to stay, it was brilliant.

    Stuart2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely unique place to stay to unwind and spend some time away . Communication with the hosts was great and thanks for recommending the farmers boy for dinner! X

    Stephanie2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • A perfect cosy and unusual escape from modern life!

    Sue2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • My friend and I enjoyed the most splendid three nights at the wagon (we gathered form the reviews that one night only would not suffice). It was great to settle in and get comfortable in the space. We loved how it felt only a few degrees off from camping; it was rustic but cozy and we made do in the small but cleverly-set up space. The adjacent outhouse was adorable and we loved the quirky decor. Andy and Vicky were the best hosts with whom I've ever had the pleasure of staying in my years of using Airbnb; they were present and helpful, offering great tips, taking our dishes to wash, and keeping our water jugs filled. Defiantly plan to book with them again and would highly recommend to others. One thing I will say is that the wagon may be a bit tight for taller guests; the bed, which spans the width of the wagon, fit my friend and me but we're on the shorter side; not sure my husband would have been quite as comfortable, so something to consider when deciding to book.

  • We stayed here for my birthday on the 20th March. It was even better than I could have imagined. Incredibly cosy and a wonderful escape during these stressful times! Andy was more than attentive and it seemed like there was so request too great. It’s an amazing location and the cabin has everything you could need - even hand gel!!!! We will be back with the dog next time to explore the surrounding walks! If your pizzas end up as bad as ours then we recommend the The Lyon Inn pub... the fish and chips were incredible - even as a takeaway. Thank you again. Beth + Fred x

  • This is the perfect place to stay if you just want to get away from everything. The log cabin is lovely and cosy and has heating if it gets a bit cold at night. I loved looking at all of the quirky items which were placed all around the cabin, they were a nice touch. The patio area is lovely too, I enjoyed relaxing by the fire in the evening and making pizza to cook in the pizza oven. If you want to get away from the stresses of every day life then this is the place to stay.

  • We really enjoyed our stay in this cabin. A beautiful secluded spot to relax and a lovely cabin. The host was very helpful and easy to contact throughout our stay. There was information about places to eat which helped us find a lovely restaurant called the Farmers Boy Inn which had amazing pies. We would love to visit again!

Nestled in the forest, in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the South facing cabin fronts a footpath that leads out into the beautiful landscape. It is situated within our garden, with its own access so you are free to come and go as you please. It lends itself to quiet activities such as writing or similar. It is very peaceful and ideal for a quiet retreat from city life and an escape into nature. The main attraction is walking and/or mountain biking.
The cabin is compact with a kitchenette for food preparation. With fridge combi oven/microwave, gas hob and cooking pots, utensils etc. A shower room with basin toilet and shower cubicle. The rest of the space is open for the sleeping area and sitting area. There is a standard double bed. Two easy chairs. There is a fold-out table for dining and two stools. An efficient wood burning stove will keep you warm in winter.
  • John’s space was very cosy and well equipped. The location was ideal and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would have loved to stay for longer.

  • The cabin was more spacious than I imagined. A super kitchenette, clean bathroom, comfortable big bed and a wood burner to keep you nice and cosy. It's situated on a pathway leading straight into the forest, so convenient for walkers. Even the endless rain didn't dampen my warm peaceful stay. I stayed for two night, will be booking for a whole week in the summer.

Responsible Travel - no bookings Apr/May-Coronavirus. Tasteful conversion of an old outbuilding “where the cider mill donkey once lived", Forest of Dean. A detached, clean & comfortable private escape for you to unwind & enjoy the views over an old perry pear orchard managed for wildlife. Neighbourhood of similar smallholdings & valley farmland with direct access to forest walks & perfect for stargazing. Friendly sheep & our pet alpacas Badger & Bracken may be grazing in the field nearby.
Literally just off the beaten track, a privately located & slightly elevated detached cottage arranged on one level with lovely views. We live further along the track and are on hand to help but equally we’re respectful of your privacy allowing you to completely relax and unwind. Open-plan living area with a well equipped modern kitchen area. Patio doors plus full length windows to take advantage of the far reaching countryside views & for wildlife watching. The bedroom has a king-size bed, with a quality feather-effect duvet & pillows (suitable for vegans). There are thick curtains for a good nights sleep, though if left open, you may watch the sunrise over the valley directly from your bed. Modern en-suite shower room with plentiful hot water & good water pressure. SPRING Wake to the sound of birdsong & take short stroll from the cottage & you’re in beech woodlands carpeted with scented bluebells & natural babbling springs. SUMMER Open the patio doors in the living area to make the most of the gentle valley breeze and enjoy the views. Sit outside at night & stargaze. AUTUMN Experience the beautiful displays of autumnal leaf colour in the adjacent woods & forage for chestnuts. WINTER A well insulated cottage for winter with modern electric radiators plus a cosy wood burner. Snuggle up in front of the fire and enjoy the views. Relaxing private garden area to the front of the cottage that overlooks a field & old orchard and down to a tree-lined stream with countryside beyond. Garden bench on a grassy lawn for your morning coffee or to watch the sunrise. Bistro set on a paved area that benefits from the late afternoon/early evening sun. The land is primarily managed for wildlife. Buzzards fly above along the woodland edge, green woodpeckers forage the field, squirrels climb along trees by the stream. At night you may hear the owls. A badger will often pass by on its evening route (dependant on the time of year). A small herd of family owned friendly Jacob sheep (some have been hand reared) are usually in the field next to the cottage. They rotationally graze with other neighbours so we can’t always guarantee they’ll be there. Our inquisitive pet alpacas Badger & Bracken are usually around. Sorry no dogs due to the proximity of the livestock. Facilities:- - The bathroom is a modern shower room with a large corner shower with plentiful hot water & good water pressure (no bath). - TV with built in DVD player - Drawer full of board games, playing cards, DVDs etc. - Books, local maps and guides - Cafetiere (no coffee maker) - Microwave, double oven & grill, dishwasher, washer/dryer, freestanding fridge/freezer. - Blankets for outdoor use in the evenings should you wish to sit outside longer to watch the wildlife and stargaze (kept in the monks bench). - Cosy real wood burner, first basket of logs free of charge. Extra baskets of logs - £5 per basket. Please note the soap provided in the shower room and kitchen is liquid hand soap.... not the solid bar variety.
A peaceful valley of scattered cottages, smallholdings and farmland outside the settlement boundary of Mitcheldean, in open countryside, on the woodland edge of the Forest of Dean. The area is rich in wildlife and the Gloucestershire Way and Wysis Way footpaths run opposite. St Antony’s Well can be found in beech woodlands with bluebells at the end of the lane. The large village of Mitcheldean is within a 20 minute walk where there is a Coop, convenience store, butchers, pharmacy, florist, library, takeaways, automated petrol station, car repair etc. The local brewery, Bespoke Brewery opens their brewery tap bar most weekends. Jolter Press, a local cider & perry maker has a bar that’s usually open on a Friday evening. Both are situated in The Mews, Mitcheldean.

  • This is a place not to be missed, we stayed during a few cold February days and enjoyed the cosiness not just of the logburner but the whole place. Really clean lovely shower room, comfy bed, fully equipped kitchen and cosy lounge area, with great views from every window. We want to return in summer to take advantage of that tempting bench which it was just too cold to sit out on when we got back from a day out, even with the blankets provided! Lucy was helpful with everything, and a great host.

    Wendy2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • The perfect place to relax. We loved everything about Perry Pear Cottage; especially the Alpacas and Flapjacks!! Lucy and Mark are wonderful hosts. The best place we have stayed. We will certainly be back again soon! :-)

    Karl2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • The pictures here don’t do Perry Pear Cottage justice; it is a beautiful open plan space, with incredible views from each window you look from. It couldn’t be more private, calming and comfortable if you tried. Five big golden stars!

  • Our stay at Willow Annexe was delightful. At arrival we were greeted by the two very friendly cats. The studio is very cosy with a wonderful view to the forest. We were impressed by the gifts left for us and the attention to detail that Lesley has put into it. The place is equipped with everything you need (kettle, microwave and a little stove with a pan, if you need to prepare something). Even though we have not met Lesley, she responded quickly to our messages and allowed us a late check-out, which is very good on a lazy Sunday morning. We recommend visiting Wye Valley and all of its surroundings. It is a perfect place for a romantic get-away in the countryside. Highly recommended.

  • Our stay at Gail’s was excellent! The space felt very homely and made for a wonderful base to explore Gloucester and the Cotswolds from. The dogs were wonderful and the hot tub was exactly what we needed after a long drive from London. We took a rental car that was a little bigger than we expected and this was a bit tricky on the driveway. We managed fine but if you are not a confident driver this might trip you up. Other than that, all you need to know is that you will love your stay here! Book now :)

  • Fantastic stay at Gail’s place for a weekend with a friend. It was really cosy and exactly what we wanted for a relaxing girly weekend. We thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub, the comfy beds, and the excellent dvd selection! We will be back!

  • What a view! This is an away-from-it-all space that you can't fail to relax in. The hot tub is a bonus, and the place is a charmingly compact space for two.

In the spring there are acres of bluebells only a walk away. The Accommodation is luxurious with towels, bathrobes, soap etc , dish washer and washing machine/dryer. There is breakfast left ready for guests and a complimentary bottle of wine, fruit and cake.
It's beautiful and quiet and in May the woods are carpeted with bluebells,
  • Our second visit to the Chapel and it doesn’t disappoint. It’s a beautiful space and Viccky has gone out of her way to make it cosy and very comfortable. A tremendously relaxing and beautiful space and a home from home for us now! Big thanks Viccky, we enjoyed all the cake and booze you left for us too! 😊

    Sarah2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you so much, it couldn’t have been any better! 5 * touches that made our weekend amazing! We only needed ourselves and some clothes. Would go back in a heartbeat and I’m sure we will xx

    Katie2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Simply stunning .... everything you could want and more. Would highly recommend this property!

    Cathy2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • A truly magical place, in a great location with exceptional hospitality. Everything you could wish for and many things you wouldn’t dream of is provided. We had a wonderful relaxing week, didn’t want to leave and hope to return soon. The photos do not do the place justice. The chapel is an absolute gem!

    Hannah2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Just returned from a wonderful couple of days at this beautifully restored chapel. Viccky was a great host from the moment we booked - quickly responding to our questions, to lighting the log burner before arrival to ensure a warm and cosy reception. Not to mention the homemade cake, glass of fizz and fridge full of breakfast goods that awaited us. Every little thing you could wish for Viccky had thought of - a 5 star stay in a beautiful location, thank you :)

    Georgina2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • We had a very relaxing and special couple of nights stay at The Zion Chapel. The photos can’t do justice to the space itself which is cozy, spacious and very well equipped. Our arrival and access was easy and trouble free, even though it was late evening and dark at the time. Indeed It may have been the perfect time to arrive at Zion Chapel as Vicky has already fired up the wood burner, turned on the pretty lights inside and left us a welcome gift of homemade cake and a bottle of Prosecco. It certainly helped us feel at home almost immediately. There was provisions in the fridge for a cooked breakfast, plenty of cereal, bread, milk as well as tea and coffee. The bed was very comfortable and we had a very peaceful night sleep. The rain shower was also lovely and hot. On the second day we left a chilli in the Aga to slow cook and set out to explore The Forest of Dean. We would highly recommend Zion Chapel to all our friends and family.

    Caroline2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely setting, fabulous little touches from the host. Made the effort to supply some home made Gluten Free shortbread which was incredible... It was a real pleasure to stay in such a tastefully refurbished property with everything we could possibly need from a wood burner to board games. Will be recommending to anybody who listens...

The Granary is a detached, self catering stone built character cottage, believed to be over 300 years old. It is converted from a former dairy and grain store, and retains many original features which gives this spacious king size bedded cottage a romantic feel. It is surrounded by fields and woodland and indeed the Gloucestershire Way runs right by the door as well as the Wysis Way and there are many Forest walks available directly from the cottage.
DUE TO CURRENT LEGISLATION AND COVID 19 WE ARE UNABLE TO TAKE BOOKINGS FOR PRIL AND MAY AT CURRENT TIME The Granary has been sympathetically restored to provide you with a spacious, clean and comfortable holiday cottage in the beautiful Forest of Dean. It has a delightful garden which has lots of birds and in the summer it is humming with bees and butterflies. The Granary has its own private enclosed cottage garden overlooking farmland. Some guests may be very lucky and see passing badgers, foxes, deer and even get a visit from the wild boar! The small holding upon which the cottage is set is situated in a picturesque valley within an area protected for wildlife in the Forest of Dean. The cottage has several other residents the chickens - their eggs are for sale subject to availability!! Sometimes the owners’ sheep graze in their adjacent field. Woodland rises away to the front and to the rear lies gentle farmland. The area is wonderful for walking, birdwatching, mountain biking or just letting the stresses of life seep away. The cottage is very central and is an ideal touring base for The Forest of Dean and within easy reach of The Wye Valley, Gloucester, the Cotswolds, Malvern, Brecon Beacons and Cheltenham. The Granary offers one spacious bedroom with king size sleigh bed with 'A' frame beams and ensuite shower room. The bedroom doorway looks out onto the garden and down the old stone Granary steps of the former grain store a lovely feature. It is also possible to sleep a child in a cot (travel cot and high chair are available upon request) or use the additional sofa bed in the bedroom. Please note for more than 2 guests there is an additional charge of £5 per night towards linens and towels etc. Spacious and comfortable lounge with original beams with Freeview TV and DVD player, french doors open out to patio and seating area and private garden. Separate downstairs WC and washbasin. Large, light and airy kitchen/diner with original beams. Well-equipped with electric cooker, microwave, dishwasher, fridge freezer, and washing machine. The cottage has gas central heating and this along with the electricity, linen, and towels are all included in the price. Parking directly next to cottage
The Granary @ Green Farm is located down a country lane with cottages and smallholdings. It is on the boundary of Mitcheldean on the edge of the Forest of Dean. The Gloucestershire Way and Wysis Way footpaths run close by and bluebells in spring and St Antony’s Well can be found in woods to the front of the cottage.
  • Really recommend this lovely little cottage! We went on a long walk locally - the forest really is on your doorstep. We self catered the whole weekend and the kitchen was very well equipped. Had no issues with the WiFi. Slept very well in the huge bed.

    Sarah2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Cosy & warm - more spacious than the photos show, and exceeded our expectations! This is our new favourite place to stay in the Forest of Dean.

  • An amazing property, comfortable warm and holmey with all the aminities a single or couple could ask for. Beautiful walks in urm... Walking distance and prity village in short driving distance (please try the local butcher!) well worth a stay!

  • If you need to get away and have a quiet couple of days to yourself then this is the place for you. When we walked in you were treated with a lovely welcoming package and a card. The place was warm, inviting, clean and there were plenty of things to do from board games, cards, reading and just going out n bout in the great Forest of Dean. Would definitely use again. Thank you Emma.

    Elaine2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Emma and David's cottage for 8 nights and it was absolutely brilliant. Fully equipped kitchen, large comfy bedroom, and a super cosy lounge with incredible views of the hills out the back door. So many thoughtful touches throughout the space including books and games, extra blankets, and even a welcome gift basket and fresh eggs - yumm! The location is close to many many walking trails, pubs, and shops in nearby towns and the cottage itself is off the main street, so expect really quiet nights. We HIGHLY recommend staying at Emma and David's cottage and wish we could have stayed longer!

    Ornella2020-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely little cottage that has everything you will need for a short stay. Everything works as it should, is perfectly clean and very comfortable, and the hosts left a lovely welcome package including a bottle of Prosecco Communication from Emma was spot on, as were the directions to the cottage. Happy New Year, Emma, and thanks again.

We are doing what we can in the light of the COVID-19 pandemic. This means we are only taking bookings through the Air BnB COVID-19 scheme to offer accommodation to responders until the end of June. If you are a responder, our space will offer you a safe, peaceful bolt hole 12 miles from Gloucester Royal Hospital and 17 from Cheltenham. Plenty of outdoor garden space and many walks on the doorstep for daily exercise.
Wren Cottage could be for you if you are looking to find somewhere away from it all surrounded by nature and birdsong. It is very peaceful here. There is an outside seating area that we are making available to you, although this maybe shared by another responder and social distancing will therefore apply. There is a separate laundry area with washing machine, drier, iron and ironing board. We are making this area available by appointment only to enable us to keep people safe in shared areas. Wren Cottage is a stone forester’s cottage with cosy lounge, wood burner and a well equipped kitchen on the ground floor. A winding staircase leads to a bedroom with a comfy double bed and an ensuite shower room. There is limited storage. Plenty of hangars, and some open shelving. Luggage can also be stored under the metal framed bed. I could provide storage boxes for you. We are currently able to provide loo rolls and plenty of antibacterial soap, but like many, we cannot get hold of any hand sanitiser Notes: Access via a single track unmade road with some potholes Parking is 30 metres UPHILL from the cottage
We have a guest feedback form and one of the questions we ask is "What did you like most about your stay?" The answer is almost always the beautiful location and the peace and quiet. There are many footpaths all over the Forest of Dean and you can access this network from the cottage door. There is woodland within a short distance, and there are lots of small streams and brooks, so the sound of water is often what you will hear on a walk; that and the birdsong. We are on the sunny side of the valley and almost at the top of the hill so you can sit in the sun in the evening with a glass of wine, and admire the views. The penalty for this however is that most walks from the cottage end with a 10 minute uphill walk. We have few neighbours and there are more animals here than people - 2 pigs, one donkey, sheep, hens, and lots of stunning horses. (These our our neighbours' animals not ours). he Forest of Dean is an extensive area of ancient woodland stretching from Mitcheldean in the East as far west as the River Wye and south to the banks of the Severn. The region is rich in flora and fauna, and is beautiful in springtime when the woods are adorned with successive carpets of wild daffodils (Newent), bluebells and wood anenomes. Early morning or dusk are the best times of day to spot some of the wildlife including fallow deer and wild boar. For avid bird lovers the Forest of Dean is a joy, with the possibility of spotting the goshawks at New Fancy View, the peregrine falcons at Symmonds Yat Rock, dippers nesting in the banks of a stream or the pied flycatchers which make their nests in the hollowed out trunk of an oak tree. In summer be sure to look out for the many and varied butterflies which reside in the Forest including the white admiral, purple hairstreak and sliver washed fritillary. The Forest is an undulating landscape and your walks may well be accompanied by the sound of a stream babbling along a valley bottom as well as strident birdsong. There are many views to be admired from the hill tops across Forest and rivers, towards the Malvern Hills or to the Welsh Mountains across the border. Try May Hill for the best vantage point over the Forest!
  • A beautiful cottage in an amazing location. With some amazing walks straight from the front door. House has everything you need for an amazing break.

  • Despite the best efforts of Storm Dennis and the flooding that ensued we have had a great time at Wren Cottage. Wonderful walks from the door straight into the woods as well as plenty of areas to explore futher afield. Karen was a great host, very welcoming with great communication. The cottage had everything needed for a comfortable stay with the log burner providing an extremely cosy atmosphere at the end of a days walking for us and especially our two dogs! Thank you again Karen.

  • Wren Cottage is a wonderful little treasure, the perfect home from home for my party of two adults and two dogs. Karen is a great host, good communication and very thoughtful touches on arrival. Would recommend staying here and would stay again myself

    Harriet2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was a delight and perfect for an individual traveller like I was, or a couple. It was cosy and the fireplace a good way to keep the place warm in winter (although there is also heating too). It was spotlessly clean and with good amenities. It was extremely quiet with a lovely aspect so if you’re looking for a getaway from the city life, this is a good place to get it. Not too far from the local villages and the walks in the forest were delightful. All round, a really nice stay!

    Ian2020-01-06T00:00:00Z

    Luke2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage is a real gem. Set off the beaten track with stunning scenery as far as the eye can see, this was the perfect place for a relaxing break. Karen offered the warmest of welcomes, and the little touches including biscuits, juice and fresh flowers were very much appreciated. The wood burning stove was made up ready to use, with plenty of wood for the weekend which we made good use of! Definitely worth a visit.

  • Tim’s cottage is just as described. It’s very clean and decorated wonderfully. The location is perfect for a quiet getaway among the countryside. The garden was lovely and the perfect spot to watch the sunset with a glass of wine after a day out walking. The beds were very comfortable and warm and the bathroom and kitchen had everything you needed. Tim was quick to respond to any messages throughout and was on hand for anything we needed. I highly recommend a stay here.

  • Such a clean and stylish cottage, it certainly has all the amenities you need for a getaway! Fantastic views and plenty of games for the family! I can’t describe how fabulous it was....just a perfect place! Can’t wait to hopefully go back soon.

    Karan2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • My family and I had a very relaxing time in the cottage. It was very clean, cosy and we felt very welcoming. We appreciate the Christmas decoration, our little baby loved the lights. :) Thank you! Definitely recommend.

    Elena2019-12-20T00:00:00Z
  • Hmm lots to say for this one. The kitchen has everything. No hand washing the dishes! For someone who doesnt have a dishwasher.... Just awsome. The place was beautiful. Very easy check in, private and you can see the attention to detail that went into the renovation of the space. For walkers, if you just pop over the other side of the hill, there is miles of forest to go walking in. Suggest you do your shopping at the coop in cinderford as they sell wood there. Be careful with putting out the trash, or a canine thief will try to scatter it everywhere. Highly recommended.

  • This farmhouse B&B really exceeded my expectations! It’s super. Directions given are excellent, and check-in instructions are super clear and photos help you find everything. Really appreciated the private entrance to the room I stayed in, saving interrupting anyone in the house if you don’t want to or it’s late. The rooms are thoughtfully & comfortably furnished, the shower is lovely and hot, fresh milk is provided in the room with tea, coffee, hot choc etc and the little jar of shortbread was a delightful addition. Breakfast is included and delicious - my eggs on sourdough were cooked to perfection, great coffee & OJ but Camilla will make you anything you fancy. Lovely farmhouse relaxed feel. If you have dogs, it’s really relaxed dog friendly environment with big open fields on the doorstep to walk in! Frank & Camilla are absolutely lovely, considerate hosts who are really friendly without being too involved, really happy for your dogs to be welcome anywhere and also do Horse Carriage rides with Cream Tea - which I’d love to try when the good old British weather finally dries out. Great hosts, great value, great location, great experience! Thanks both - hope to see you again soon x

  • A beautiful house full of character, cosiness and English country charm. The views from the nearby hill are delightful and Tilly was the most naturally attentive host. Louis the dog is a steady fellow and Hector and Hamish, the ponies did a great job of lugging us around the local countryside despite us having filled up on a hearty breakfast featuring some of the best poached eggs and granary bread I've had forever. Highly recommended.

I have a bed sittingroom over my garage which is detached from my cottage . Decent sized room, dining table/ chairs etc. Shower + toilet Kitchenette. Own front door from outside parking area. No TV as yet . Wifi being set up. Excellent situation on edge of the Forest of Dean. .... you need a car but good walks/ cycling close by. Plenty of pubs. I can try and help with anything you need to know and make tea or coffee any time!!
I can add one small bed for a child but flat not toddler friendly because of stairs , no gates and garden very wild and steep. Babies no problem.
The neighbour is beautiful, full of trees , walks , rivers a d not far from Welsh border, Worcestershire and the Cotswolds. Horse racing.. Chepstow, Cheltenham not too far.
  • This place is fantastic! We really enjoyed it, there are lots of thoughtful touches and it’s a really cosy space. I’d highly recommend it!

  • Ruth is very nice and helpful. The location is slight difficult to find but you can simply give her a call and she will find you. It is a 15 minutes walk down to town centre with take away, restaurants and supermarkets. There is even a great view for sunrise with her place. You will have your own cabin with private bathroom, kitchen and "living dining bedroom". There is even heat mat on the bathroom and kitchen floors. It is so sweet. Breakfast and some fruits, TV, WiFi are included. The kitchen is fully equipped. There are too much to say. You should try living yourself. It is a place and a cabin that I definitely want to go again and again.

Lovely locations we cycled everywhere and didn’t need to move the car. Highlight were cycling the trails and taking in the country air, we even got to see some wild boar while out biking.

  • We had a fantastic stay at The Halt, and this was without doubt one of the most comfortable and cosy Airbnb’s we have ever stayed in! Terry was a great host and gave us some useful tips for exploring the local area. We have never visited this area of the UK before but would recommend it to anyone and would love to come back. If we do then we will definitely stay with Terry and Maxine again! Book and you won’t be disappointed! A great find!

A spacious, modern, self-contained and fully outfitted studio apartment in the popular Forest of Dean village of Blaisdon. Five minute walk to an iconic Gloucestershire pub and a ten minute drive from the Forest of Dean itself. The property is quiet and peaceful with gardens which straddle the Longhope Brook flowing through the property. Several picturesque foot bridges cross the brook from which you can view the gardens and the many wild birds that feed along the stream.
The Loft is a studio flat suitable for a couple on a romantic getaway, or as a peaceful retreat for those on an active holiday enjoying the many outdoor offerings of the Forest of Dean. The living area has a large picture window which overlooks the pretty Longhope brook and provides an opportunity to sit restfully and admire the rooftops of Blaisdon village as you look up the valley. The galley kitchen is fully fitted with a modern oven, refrigerator, and double burner induction hob. The dining table extends to seat four, and we provide four place settings, so it would be quite reasonable for you to be fully self catered, and entertain a second couple for dinner if you wished. Or you can take a stroll through the village to enjoy the lovely Red Hart pub which is famous in the area and a popular destination for both locals and visitors. You are also welcome to walk through our beautiful gardens which surround the property as well as enjoying the many public footpaths which surround Blaisdon and the Longhope valley. If you wish we can supply an inflatable mattress which would be suitable for a third person . We do not have a cot and the flat is not really suitable for small infants.
Blaisdon is a popular village in the Forest of Dean area. It comprises a number of historic properties built along Blaisdon Lane. At the center of the village is a lovely pub, the Red Hart, which is well known in the area for good food but with a local atmosphere. The village is on the edge of the Severn valley with a multitude of footpaths through the fields on the valley floor and up the hillsides into the forest.
  • Lovely place to stay on the edge of a pretty village village in Gloucestershire. I would definitely come back. Had a restful time. Great host. Very helpful and friendly.

  • What a lovely place to spend New Years. The flat is modern and clean with all the amenities and a massive picture window that looks out on the river and the valley. Kristi recommended nice walks in the Forest of Dean, and their local pub just up the street is lovely. Would love to come back in summer, or autumn when apparently there are more apples than they know what to do with!

Awaken in a sleeping loft when morning light enters through a skylight slotted between century-old beams. Cook breakfast in a full kitchen as a grandfather clock chimes the hour. This former stable of stone and brick is comfortable and fully updated.
The Stables is a one bedroom barn conversion, that many years ago used to be (you guessed it!) the old Stables here at Daniels Farm. The original owner of the stables, Harry, had a particular sense of humour. He named the two horses kept here, Tom and Dick. This obviously led to him becoming the talk of the town! After being lovingly converted in 2005, I'm afraid that these days there's no hay in sight. You enter through an old fashioned 'boot room', with utility facilities and a downstairs bathroom. This opens out into a large country kitchen with a dining area. Straight ahead is your private patio, and to the right you can walk straight through to the separate living area. Fitted with a sofa bed, as well as an additional sofa, the old oak beams and old stable features transport you back in time. Moving upstairs into the bedroom, you should know that we can make it up as two Single beds or as one Super King. There is also an ensuite for your comfort. Most importantly, you can lie in bed and look across the countryside to the River Severn. (TIP: For an even better view in the morning make sure to convince your holiday partner to cook you breakfast and bring it to you in bed!)
The house is one mile from the village of Blakeney, where there's a local shop, post office, and an award-winning fish-and-chip shop. The nearby town of Newnham has a quaint and colourful high street with a butcher, hairdresser, and gift shop.
  • Spent three days at The Stables, Yvonne was very welcoming and took time to meet and greet and explain everything. The Stables is a very comfortable property, very homely and extremely well priced. Close to the local village of Blakeney with Lydney less than 10 minute drive away. Thoroughly recommend a stay. Neil from Newquay

  • Thoroughly enjoyed my birthday break at The stables. Yvonne was very friendly and helpful from booking g to checking out, nothing was too much trouble and she was able to be flexible with the times to work around our baby, which as new parents was really appreciated. The homemade scones were best I've ever tasted and melted in the mouth (I wasn't brave enough to ask for the recipe ha ha). I'm a hobby baker so I've had my fair share over scones over the years! The super fresh milk was udderly delightful (sorry, had to get a pun in there somewhere!) And really made our complimentary tea and coffee taste that extra bit special. There was loads to do in the area and the stables has lots of information on attractions and walks. I stayed with my husband and 6 month old daughter and there was lots to do for us, would like to come back when she's bigger to go to Puzzlewood. There is a shop, chip shop, restaurant and post office just 1 mile away but 10 mins in the car and you will be in Tesco to get all the essentials. The kitchen has everything you need... from small ramekins and egg cups to plenty of plates and glasses. Great to see that recycling is encouraged during your stay with all facilities provided. Accommodation spotless and well looked after, towels, loo roll, dish washer tablets, air freshener etc all provided. The 2 showers were both hot and clean. This was particularly helpful as when baby was napping we could still shower without disturbing her. Selection of DVDs were helpful when not much on TV in the nights. Accommodation was lovely, warm and peaceful. Access and parking to accommodation is ample and easy. Thoroughly recommend staying here and would/will love to come back again! Thanks so much, Yvonne!

  • Lovely home, Yvonne was a great host and the house was perfect for what we needed. Sofa bed could have been a little more comfortable but other than that it was just what we were looking for! Thanks

  • The Stables was a lovely weekend retreat. Despite Storm Dennis going on outside the place was comfortable and cosy. The kitchen was well equipped - we opted to cook both nights instead of venturing out into the storm and we had everything we needed. There was board games provided as well as a tv. And we were really impressed with the little touches - Yvonne had put out fresh flowers and home made cupcakes. She even popped over and showed us around the dairy farm. Overall, a lovely place to stay in with a host who goes above and beyond.

  • We stayed in this lovely little cottage for a 2 night break away from city life. Yvonne was friendly and waiting for us apoun arrival. The cottage was spotlessly clean with everything you need. Huge kitchen and lovely bedroom with a really comfy bed and en -suite The cottage has a real home from home feeling with lovely views. Yvonne's freshly baked cakes were a lovely little welcome touch as was the little jug of fresh milk straight from their cows. We did not go for any walks due to bad weather, however there are lots of local walks and pubs within a short walk or drive. Thank you to Yvonne and her husband for a wonderful stay.

    Alison2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • Had a lovely weekend here. The place was ideal and exactly what we were after. Would definitely stay again if we were to go back to that area

    Matthew2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful renovated stable on a hill. It's a very spacious and clean space, very clearly taken care of for their guests. The fresh milk, and homemade scones were such a lovely little touch. Although we used it for more of a base for our busy weekend, it was such a perfect respite. We had a perfect stay in the Stables, the hosts were accommodating to our late check in time, and left us to settle in. Thank you for the gorgeous weekend. Oh and the stars! When the sky was clear overnight, it was absolutely stunning.

  • The cottage was beautiful, cosy and had possibly one of the best equipped kitchens. Jenny and Jemima had put the heating on so that when we arrived in the late evening, we could cuddle up straight away with a glass of wine. There were some lovely touches with milk, eggs and biscuits there for us to use. There was a folder full of info on the cottage and excellent tips on the local area. On our second day we were able to walk straight from the cottage out towards the Wye Valley, completing a loop along Offa's Dyke to Tintern and then back along the Wye Valley Walk. Well worth it! Lovely place to stay - you'd be daft not to book!

    Kathryn2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • An absolutely brilliant time at Puzzle Tree. The welcome was immediate and appreciated. The cottage was spotless, beautiful and with all the amenities you would expect plus more. Jenny and Jemima have created a warm and comfortable space to escape from it all and the added touches like milk, welcoming chocolates and the easy to use information book were greatly appreciated. This cottage is also located close to beautiful walks and places of historical importance like Tintern Abbey, definitely worth a look if not yet seen. We can highly recommend a break at Puzzle Tree Cottage. Thanks again for a wonderful stay.

  • We had such a relaxing and wonderful stay at puzzle tree cottage. It was a warm and cosy place, well stocked with lots of thoughtful touches. Lovely views and wildlife around. The hosts J and J were incredibly friendly and easy to reach if needed. We would love to visit again!

  • Jenny and Jemimas place is a beautifully appointed. It has everything you could possibly need for a perfect stay. It was spotlessly clean and had obviously been well thought through. The location is off the beaten track charming. With peace and quiet if you want it, but plenty to do if you want to explore. I would thoroughly recommend

    David2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • The place is spotlessly clean, everything you need in the kitchen, a bed you don't want to get out of, washing machine and easy to work heating to dry your riding clothes. Oh, did I mention I'm a mountain biker? there's Forest of Dean on the door step, Black mountains and Cwmcarn less then an hour away, Afan and BPW a bit further. There's a space to store the bikes and a hose to wash them. Not a place for you if you want to check your FB every 5 mins as there's no phone signal or wifi in the cottage (you can pick up a weak signal just outside or use Jenny's landline in an emergency. We'll be going back there later this year.

  • Thank you so much for everything the place was an absolutely stunning place stay. We switched our phones off and forgot about the world outside and basked in the blissful silence (it was like being in a perfect romantic movie scene). We saw so much beautiful widlife and even when it rained it was still so cosy. The hosts were wonderful leaving us to ourselves with everything we needed and also kindly towing our stuck car out of the mud on drive home too. We could not be happier with our stay and can not wait to go back already.

  • Gorgeous surroundings, and extremely cozy and comfortable hut. Gillie was quick to respond to any queries and offer help, but the amenities are such that I was able to cook and clean etc. without any hassle. I don't drive but found it easy to get to and from Gloucester via bus, which stops at the top of the road about 10 mins walk away. Can't overstate how great it is for walking. • Super hosts Gillie & Libby. Beautiful location and superb accomodation. Extremely cosy and quiet. Exactly what we wanted. Highly likely we will return again in the future (as have others, according to the numerous delighted & returning customers in the guest book).

  • What a find- although we don’t live too far away the total peace and quiet was amazing- a real hide away! We received a very warm welcome from Libby. Breakfast was delivered right on the pre arranged time, a real treat! 100% would recommend a stay here...

    Nina2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Gillie was fantastic host with great local knowledge. The Hideaway Hut is a tranquil, cosy place. Beautiful area, lots of wildlife and perfect for long walks in the countryside. Highly recommend

  • Spent 2 relaxing days working and resting at the hideaway hut. Clean, peaceful, comfortable and secluded. Perfect

    John2020-01-15T00:00:00Z
  • The location is perfect for escaping from the world - secluded with stunning views and surrounded by wildlife. The shepherds hut itself is incredible - the attention to detail is evident throughout. Gillie is a fabulous host, very friendly and on hand if you need anything but not imposing. We had a very special weekend here and will definitely be back! I dare you to not fall in love with this place! Thank you so much Gillie x

    Chelle2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Can’t say enough good things about this little find... seriously stunning and private location. The hut is well equipped - we even made muscles and frites on/in the wood burner as there is an stove/oven like space. It was fun doing tea “bear grylls style” as Robbie called it upon check in. The kettle, toaster and microwave were helpful too of course. Beautiful fire. We felt really cosy and warm the whole time - although tip ;) bring your slippers for the wooden and tiled flooring. We enjoyed lovely walks at May Hill close by and also just behind the hut itself so you can have a car free break! A real treat to rest and relax. Reading or watching a movie. Lovely touches throughout - Gillie and Robbie are delightful hosts! We’re looking for dates for our next visit :)

Our cosy yurt is situated in a secluded corner of our large garden, which has access to the Forest of Dean. The yurt has a wood burner and is insulated with thick yak's wool - perfect for colder nights. There is a very comfy double and a pull out double sofa bed which is great for kids. A shower room, with electric shower, hot running water, and a flushing toilet is 20 meters from the yurt, as is a small kitchenette with hot water and power. Outside there is a fire for cooking.
We are in a quiet hamlet a mile from the nearest village, and from the yurt you can walk directly on forestry tracks into the Forest of Dean. All the forest has to offer is a walk or short drive away. The yurt looks over rolling farmland and is nestled in a quiet corner, surrounded by trees and mossy ground.
Peaceful, quiet, and perfect for star gazing, and literally situated on the South Eastern edge of the Forest of Dean. We have regular visits from deer, owls, and voles, as well as the usual squirrel and small garden birds. Sometimes you can hear wild boar snuffling in the field next to the yurt.
  • Lovely little yurt. Great for a quiet little get away. Very cosy with the fire going in January!

    Bethan2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Brilliantly quirky place! Perfect for getting away from everything. If you like the outdoors lifestyle, you'll love the yurt. Would definitely recommend :-)

    Nuala2019-11-09T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic weekend with 3 of us in the yurt. It was spacious and the beds were comfortable. We went in November but with a fire on it was very warm inside - a great place to stay.

  • Lovely yurt in a very pretty part of the world. Private, and a fun place to go back to basics with the kids (outdoor cooking and no electricity). Myself and my 4 year old enjoyed it very much.

The Forest of Dean is known as a popular destination for walking and cycling enthusiasts and Workshop Cottage is an ideal base for exploring the Forest of Dean and the Wye Valley and its many tourist attractions.
  • We spent the last few days at workshop cottage with our 7 month old baby. We loved every second of it, the cottage is beautiful, there is even a brook right next to it!!! Everything was so clean and perfect, Annette even got us some gluten free bead and cookies!!!! The fire in the evenings was just amazing. We cant thank Annette and her husband enough for letting us stay there. ❤️❤️❤️

    Cristina2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Annette was a wonderful host. We recieved a warm welcome and nothing was to much trouble. The workshop cottage was beautiful, very homely & of a very high standard. We managed to go for a lovely meal yesterday despite the storms but just relaxing at the cottage was perfect the rest of the time. Would highly recommend this place & we would love to return again. Thanks Annette for everything we really appreciate it.

    Kelly2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here - the only thing we would have changed was the weather! The log burner was used extensively to dry out our soaked clothes and warm us up after coming home from a walk. The cottage was cosy and comfortable and very clean! It was nice to recharge and our dog Bryn loved running around in the outside space. We hope to return in slightly nicer weather!

    Johanna2020-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing little cottage, lovely hosts, great location for walks and escaping the rat race! Cottage was warm and cosey, plenty of room, everything I needed, super clean and definitely a home away from home!

    Jay2020-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • Annette’s place is wonderful, set amongst endless trees and rolling countryside, with a babbling brook for added measure! The cottage is very cosy but also a great space, with big comfy bed, large, well-equipped kitchen, and comfy living space - all looking out over the lovely countryside. It’s also incredibly quiet, with birds your only neighbours! We had two long walks through the forest, ending with tasty pub lunches (recommend The Tudor Farmhouse and The Woodmans Inn). Annette was lovely and a great host, quick to respond and so welcoming. We are definitely coming back, but for longer! Highly recommend.

    Nick2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • This is a wonderful place to stay with a wonderful host. I would definitely recommend anyone to stay.

A cozy 'shed' with twin beds and heating for chilly nights. Situated within the owners property, sited in the centre of the Forest of Dean a mere 100 yards from one of the best mountain biking and cycling centres in the UK. The 'bike shed' looks out over the forest and bike storage. Fantastic location for walking, biking, canoeing the River Wye and exploring this wonderful location. The private washroom is 20 yards from the 'shed' up and down some well lit steps in the owners property.
The bike shed is within the owners garden. The bike shed has twin beds, complimentary tea, coffee and water. Access to washroom is up and down some well lit steps. Access to washroom is up and down some well lit steps. There is bike storage and facilities to wash your bikes. The garden is used daily by the owners family and pets (dog, cat and two free range chickens). The property has direct access to the forest with a variety of walks. We are located almost opposite Cannop cycle centre (pedalabikeaway) and its fantastic mountain biking downhill trails- one of the best in the UK.
We live in a small quiet village with forest all around. There is direct access into the forest over a small brook. We have constantly changing views as the trees go through the year. The birds and wildlife bring a morning chorus and evening song,(often very loudly). Wild boar and deer often pass the gate. The Wye valley offers walks, canoeing, riding and peregine falcons. We also keep honey bees. The Forest of Dean has some fantastic attractions for everyone including Clearwell Caves, Hopewell colliery, Puzzlewood, Secret forest, Perrygrove, steamtrains and MaryRose pottery to name a few! Nearby is a butterfly farm and maze and River Wye boat trips.

Danby Cottage is located in the Forest of Dean. So close to nature there's a good chance of seeing wild deer right outside the front door! Forest walks, parks, cycle paths, activity centres, craft centres, pubs and places to eat are all within walking distance. After a long day you'll be able to sit back and relax in the garden in the summer, or by the log fire in the winter! Our extended cottage has been designed specifically for family living with a large living dining room.
The living dining room has a wonderful pitched ceiling and log burning stove for those winter evenings. Our downstairs and garden are completely accessible to wheelchair users. The cottage is surrounded by forest and there are lovely walks in all directions. The kitchen is well equipped for keen cooks and has a lowered worktop for wheelchair users or young cooks who want to help! The cottage was extended in 2007 and great care was taken to make the whole building sustainable. We won a gold for green tourism which we still maintain.
The cottage is in a very peaceful and quiet setting. The area has a very interesting agricultural and industrial history of which there are many remnants to visit. Puzzle wood was once Roman ironworks, Hopewell coal colliery still welcomes visitors, clear well caves was once the source of ochre used for painting and the Forestry Commission have done much to enhance their sites for visitors, including Go Ape and the Sculpture trail. The Speech house is now a hotel with good grub but was once the Verderers Courthouse.
  • We found Jill's house a fantastic refuge in the midst of storm dennis, great location with the forest pretty much on the front door step and the open plan living room was a fantastic place to relax and watch the birds outside. our kids didnt want to go home.

    Joel2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • It is a lovely cottage to stay in and would really recomend it. There are lots of walks and places to visit very close by which is great. Amentiies in the kitchen were the best we have seen.

    Jade2019-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • What a great garden especially for bird watchers. We loved the open plan living room which is a great space and there are lots of lovely walks in the area and many paths to follow. There is an accessible double bedroom downstairs with a hoist and wet room en-suite. Just be careful when you are cooking as the smoke alarm is very sensitive and incredibly loud, which could be an issue for an autistic guest. A very enjoyable stay.

    Liz2019-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • Fabulous location for bird watching and exploring the forest. There is a pub about 10 minutes walk away and also a local store close to the pub. Jill supplied extra bird feed which kept the birds coming into the garden. Super place for forest walks and trying to track down the elusive deers and wild boar.

    Anita2019-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • If you want a quiet weekend away in the middle of nowhere this is the place for you. It’s tucked away in the middle of some woods down a little track but is a beautiful property. We were 3 couples and an 8 month old baby, more than enough room for all of us to relax and chill.

    Sara2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • Jill’s cottage is a beautiful and cleverly designed space. The living area is spacious and bright and the view from the bifold doors is brilliant. Beds are comfy. The accessibility of this property is wonderful for those with mobility issues (the downstairs bedroom is kitted out to aid wheelchair users and includes a wet room) and also for people with smaller children (we loved being able to carry our 10 week old around without obstacles!) It is a great place for children with space to play (there are even toys and books to use) and is located close to so many attractions - we would definitely bring our family here again!

    Lucy-Ann2019-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect nature getaway. Sorrounded by Woods. Walking distance from the village pubs. Friendly local people. Could not have asked for more. Will return.

    Harsha2019-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • Jill place is amazing! Beautiful lighted rooms, wonderful garden, comfortable facilities, great kitchen and a perfect location to explore nature! It is special that they have such a passion for nature and share sustainable practices with hosts using solar energy, and incentivising composting, recycling, etc. Airbnb could have a badge for green hosts! I surely recommend and would stay there again.

  • The Hut on the Hill is a terrific place to stay. Peaceful and beautiful. Couldn’t ask for more considerate and warm hosts either.

  • Super place to chill out, amazing views of the Severn and beautiful surrounding landscape. The Hut on the Hill lives up to its name “on the Hill” which gives the great views. Lots of local pubs with great food and very easy to find. We felt very relaxed, the host provided milk, bread, cereals, butter, jams, tea and coffee which was very welcomed

  • The hut is everything you'd hope from the advertised pictures and more. A perfect place for a cosy getaway, and comes with a great location and great view. I left having accomplished some good hiking and a refreshed, peaceful mind. I'll definitely be making plans to return.

  • Beautiful setting! Thanks for having us, we had a lovely time in the hut.

    Emily2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • This is a beautiful cosy hut in the most fantastic location. The views are stunning and it’s very peaceful up on the hill. Although the kitchen is small it has a really good hob and an all singing, all dancing microwave so you can cook just about anything. Lovely comfy bed, very clean and an absolute joy to stay in. We will be back!

  • Went with my girlfriend for a weekend away. We were blown away by this place. Superbly decorated and with an attention to detail I've never seen before. It was beautiful and equipped with just about every amenity you could think of. A welcome basket with lots of goodies from marshmallows to prosseco, and an info book that had everything in the area, most of which wasn't further than 20 minutes away due to the great location. It didn't have wi-fi but we didn't even need it, as we spent more time walking, cooking, and drinking by the fire, the things you SHOULD be doing on a getaway. Well impressed and would definitely book again.

  • My partner and I can not recommend this place enough, from the house itself to the lovely owners. The views are spectacular whatever the weather, and you have everything you need there to enjoy a relaxing break away. Very clean, and beautifully decorated. The hosts couldn’t do enough and were very helpful and informative about the surrounding areas. We would love to come back again.

  • The Apple Loft exceeded our expectations. It was spotless and we were so impressed with both the quality of the cottage and the thoughtful touches and extras put in by Jenny and Jemima. They seem to have thought of everything, down to the last detail. The kitchen was stocked with tea, coffee, sugar, milk and an amazing welcome hamper full of treats...which was very much appreciated! We had a fantastic experience and have great memories of enjoying the stunning views through the window. We also thoroughly enjoyed meeting their pet sheep. Jenny and Jemima were fantastic hosts. Their communication throughout the booking process was brilliant. We felt extremely well looked after throughout our stay as they were on hand if we needed anything. We had a wonderful time and we honestly cannot recommend staying at Apple Loft enough. Thank you both.

  • The property is so beautiful and stylish, it is clear that great attention to detail has been applied throughout. Lovely touches throughout for extra comfort. Gorgeous views from the barn style windows and amazing amenities. The pictures show a lovely location however they really don’t do this amazing property justice. Can’t wait to book and return. 10/10

  • Thank you so much for our stay - what a wonderful property and great hosts!

    Tim2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • The best Airbnb either of us have ever stayed in. Beautiful, cozy space perfect for a weekend away from the city. The hosts were really friendly and flexible re check-in and check-out and all communication was smooth. Being off the grid with no WiFi and signal was a blessing and gave us the peace of mind and the chance to switch off that we needed to make the most of such a lovely property and part of the world.

  • Jenny and Jemima's place is even more beautiful than the pics. We spent a very relaxing couple of days there. Stunning countryside with easy access to some lovely walks; great local tips for food and stuff to do; stylish and beautifully finished space (particularly loved the bath & windows). Looking forward to returning again in the summer.

  • The Apple Loft is a beautiful cosy little space perfect for a weekend to get away from everything. We arrived on our first trip away together to a warm welcome from Jenny & Jemima and then didn’t see them again until we left - we didn’t need to! The apartment had everything we needed, was sparkling clean and had lovely touches throughout. The location couldn’t be much better as you’re not far from loads of interesting places no matter which direction you go, and there are loads of guides to give you ideas as well as some handy tips in the information pack. From the start it was easy to communicate with Jenny & Jemima and we got a great feeling immediately. They certainly put a huge amount of care and attention into this apartment and we’ll be back to visit again!

  • We had a lovely stay, Peter was the perfect host who catered to our every need (including providing us with umbrellas whilst we were waiting for a taxi!) and we wished we could have stayed longer to make the most of the beautiful location. Would definitely return and wish Julie a speedy recovery.

    Heaps2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed here before and, as always, had a very relaxing, comfortable few nights. It’s worth every penny just for the view out the back windows at breakfast!

    Tom2019-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic hospitality from Julie, comfortable bed and great breakfast. We would definitely recommend a stay in Julie’s home if you are in the area, we thought it was fantastic value for money & would stay again.

    Alison2019-06-28T00:00:00Z
  • A relaxing quiet countryside getaway break. It is difficult to pick out one thing that made the stay outstanding as Julie had put a lot of work into making guests feel welcome. Everything exudes quality and good taste from arriving at the property to the locally sourced sausages and bacon.
