  • We spent 3 nights here for my mother in laws 70th birthday celebrations. We were a party of 9 in the end. It was the perfect setting. The grounds and castle are beautiful. All Rooms were clean and beds were very comfortable. Only problem we had which was our fault, was 2 family members are disabled. One stayed in the downstairs bedroom. Other in the clock house as neither of them could managed going upstairs due to it being a spiral iron staircase. The clock house shower wasn’t suitable for the family member staying there as they needed a walk in shower. So it meant they had to come inside and share the downstairs shower also which was fine. But worth mentioning to any further guests that may have more than one disabled person in their party. We all will strongly recommend this property. Claire and Adrian very helpful when asking about outside catering companies. Which we didn’t end up using as it was really easy getting a Tesco’s delivery to the property. Check in and directions were excellent. This was a stress free few days away. We would all love to return in the future and can imagine how lovely it would be in the summer months.

  • Exactly as stated, this is a great, characterful place to stay with wonderful hosts that respond quickly to communication.

  • Fabulous place. Good facilities for catering. Great open relaxation areas. Function but beautiful bedrooms. House lovely and warm. Clock house great for any guests that can’t manage the stairs and nicer than described. Loads of room for parking and grounds would be lovely in dry weather. Great, unique quirky place.

  • Firstly, the photos on air bnb do not do the castle justice. It is simply a stunning place that feels so authentic. The grounds surrounding the castle are also fantastic and given we had the right weather, a lot of time would have been spent outside in the massive gardens utilising the bbq they have. The dining room was a personal favourite of mine and if we didn’t want to cook there was 20+ places that delivered to the castle on Just Eat. (Nacho cheese was an excellent takeaway) Adrian and Claire were lovely hosts and got back to me so quickly about any queries I had during the week. I can’t fault anything during my stay at longs park castle. I’d previously seen some reviews that made me a tad bit skeptical of the place prior to my arrival but I don’t know why I was worried because as I said, I couldn’t fault the place. Myself and friends had a brilliant break and will definitely be returning in the summer at some point. Thank you Claire & Adrian! ☺️

  • Can’t give this place enough stars. The communication with hosts Claire and Adrian before our stay was wonderful. We were given extremely detailed instructions about the check in and using the house generally. Although the check in did not require meeting them, they responded to our messages within minutes from check in to check out. We visited as a group of friends having a university reunion and the castle is just the perfect place for this type of event. The novelty factor of staying in a castle, complete with coats of armour and four poster beds was amazing. Although it must be an old building, it was extremely warm (the hosts sent very clear instructions about the hot water and heating) and the hot water worked for all of us. Lots of the rooms are en-suites and there are a few standalone toilets/bathrooms as well. The beds were comfy with very clean bed linen and towels provided. The only thing to be aware of is that there is capacity in the main house for ten people and the remaining beds are in an outhouse which has two doubles and two Z beds. The outhouse was absolutely fine but not as nice as the main house. Worth bearing in mind when planning sleeping arrangements. All in all, I can’t recommend the place more. Huge amounts of fun and lovely hosts.

  • A truly magical place for adults and children. We loved eating meals at the large dining space and enjoying wine together. It rained quite a bit whilst we were there but still plenty to do and space within the house and separate games room. The downstairs bedroom was perfect to put our three year old down to sleep on the evening before transferring him up to bed with us later on as it’s right next to main living area. Elderly may struggle with stair case, however double bedroom downstairs and toilet and shower plus the lovely annex which is perfect for older people again with own kitchen and bathroom. Washing machine meant we could wash wet clothes and space to dry them. In between showers driveway which was safe and enclosed meant we could enjoy ball games and not get muddy. Kids loved climbing the fallen tree by the play area. We took some amazing photos both inside and out. A great place to stay for all ages. Supermarkets and town of Trowbridge only 9 min drive. Nature reserve - we had a lovely walk. On way home we stopped off at Bradford on Avon which again was beautiful. Thank you Adrian and Claire our half term break was magical.

  • This is an absolutely amazing and gorgeous location suitable for a larger family looking for a special location, hen du, stag du and special group events. The rooms are more spacious than you think and the beds are very comfortable. The location itself has a lot to offer with facilities such as the games hut and one thing we were not expecting was the sheer space to park vehicles - 7 cars fit comfortably there! We hired for a hen du and stayed when Storm Dennis hit! It created a unique atmosphere that we cozied down with as it affected our original plan to spend most of the day in Bath (close to the venue). Whilst we still went in we did in fact spend most of our time at the Castle playing group games and getting cozy. Due to the storm we experienced a few issues as a group that were unavoidable (no one can control the weather after all!) The hosts answered when called and were very happy to help with the various issues storm Dennis had thrown our way and swiftly responded which is what you want from a host! General good to know notes: The venue is closer to the road than first thought, and the gate opens into a spacious car Park. Definitely bring slippers or indoor shoes as the stair cases leading to the upper rooms are metal and cold on the feet due to the nature of the building. The venue is close enough to Bath for a visit There's shops within driving distance but take away companies generally either won't deliver or will charge large delivery fees - we just went and collected! Overall a gorgeous location with thoughtful hosts and one that I would love to visit again.

Charming Grade ll listed cottage tucked away at the top of Catherine Hill in the oldest part of Somerset market town Frome. Moments from the heart of the town but quiet and secluded. Open plan ground floor, exposed beams, stairs up to mezzanine bedroom .
This dear little cottage is small with the illusion of space. The unique factor is the sleeping platform above the sitting room. The stairs up from the sitting area are quite steep but the bedroom is cosy with the double bed in the centre to maximise headroom(6ft in the middle, 2ft6ins outer edges). Absolutely fine for sitting up in bed, but no leaping out and running to the chest of draws in the corner - the beams aren't very forgiving if you are over 5ft! Ideally this is for two people, but the sofa-bed in the sitting room allows for another person, or even 2, but the bedroom platform is open plan so privacy is in short supply!
This is surely the prettiest part of Frome, around almost every corner is a surprise and a camera moment! If you can have a bustling sleepy town then this is it. Catherine Hill which leads off Catherine Street is steep and cobbled and your route into the main part of Frome, just a 5 or 10 minute stroll depending on your agility! Independent shops line Catherine Hill and make a wander fun and interesting, it's like a little community filled with creative and like minded people where everyone chats with everyone. Occasional stops for tea or coffee are optional! History surrounds you in this part of town. The first Sunday of each month during the summer sees an independent market line the streets around Catherine Hill, and at the Cottage you have virtually front row seats!
  • Cannot fault this charming cottage. Location is perfect for town, and yet so tucked away. We adored it! Helen had left little touches throughout (milk, juice, bread, well-stocked basics in the cupboard) so it felt just like home and no problem when you forget the odd item! Such an easy check-in and lots of info left for us. Perfect!!

    Maxine2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • A really great location for exploring Frome and the cottage is extremely clean, comfy and cosy. Helen is a very attentive host too. We are both looking forward to our next stay already.

    Jon2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Fabulous location literally right in the centre of Frome - everything is a few minutes walk away. Tiny cottage, but with everything you could possibly want. Helen was excellent at communicating, left us bread/milk/OJ/tea & coffee - her cottage is really lovely. Highly recommend and we will be back.

    Lucy2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Such a beautiful cottage in the perfect location, Helen is a lovely and welcoming host! Would stay again!

    Connor2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fabulous stay in Helen’s cosy cottage, it was perfect for a couple of nights in lovely Frome. The cottage is clean, homely and very comfy, and Helen couldn’t have been a better host. Highly recommend and hope to be back soon. Thanks Helen!

  • Absolutely loved staying in this beautiful home! The chapel has been beautifully renovated to a very high standard and the little touches are what made it for me (the fresh bottle of milk). Loved it so much that I'm thinking of making it an annual tradition. Thank you Penny for sharing your space!

    Giselle2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • This converted chapel was a beautiful place to stay. It felt cosy and spacious at the same time! It was wonderfully furnished and the whole place was really stylish. We will definitely be back.

    Elizabeth2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Completely and utterly impressed with this beautiful, quaint and so well equipped accommodation. This is hosting at its very very best. Penny has thought of absolutely everything to make your stay soo homely and comfortable. Was so easy to book in and check out. Fantastic stay while exploring the surrounding area which offers a varied amount of things to do. The local New Inn just a short walk from the accommodation serves delicious food. As we drive home we are already planning a return trip as we enjoyed this one so much. Thanks Penny for having us.

    Angela2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had a very comfortable two-night stay in the chapel. The building itself and the décor are both lovely and there were plenty of thoughtful touches – Penny has great taste and attention to detail. There was also useful info on-hand including things to do locally, the interesting history of the chapel and helpful visuals for how to use the sofa bed. We would definitely stay here again and would thoroughly recommend to anyone looking for a quirky and cosy retreat in the Bath area.

    Faye2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • This place is simply beautiful. Secluded, spacious and homely it offered exactly what I was after to surprise my partner for a lovely little romantic break away. The host sent through a welcome message with all the details on gaining entry, where to go if you wanted to eat out and the contact details if you needed anything. There was a lovely little rest of goodies on arrival (drink and shortbread) along with milk in the fridge. The bedroom in the mezzanine area is spacious and the bed very comfortable! The kitchen has everything you need and the shower room, although downstairs from the bedroom, is light and fresh and has all the toiletries. We ended up eating at The Bunch of Grapes in Bradford-on-Avon, which the food was amazing! Would definitely recommend if you’re happy to spend that little bit more. Could not fault it or the service. Following night we ate at the local village pub, The New Inn. Again lovely, decent pub food, with very good portions. Again could not fault. Will definitely look to return at some point.

  • We spent a magical night here in this amazing Shepherds Hut. It was so cosy and had absolutely everything we could need. Barbette brought us a basket of an gorgeous breakfast in the morning - fresh eggs and warm croissants. Heaven! Book if you can for a truly special stay.

    Louise2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • This place is bursting with charm and delightful features - a very well done renovation of a shepherds hut, as residents of a small space we were very inspired by the gorgeous design and clever space-saving features. So much to explore around there, such a beautiful place; we would love to come back at a different time of year and see more

    Tash2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Barbette was a great host. It’s a lovely hut, very cosy on a cold winters night. Fantastic location for Centre Parcs (for the spa) and Longleat.

  • Amazing place, really enjoyed staying here! Thank you very much :) was perfect.

    Victoria2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at the shepherd's hut after a long drive and a day out at Longleat safari festival of lights. The hut wasn't too far from Longleat which was great! Barbette was a lovely host, she kept the fire on for us for when we arrived which kept us nice and warm and cosy all night. The hut looks like what they are on the photos but just looks that extra cuter and has got more character in actuality. We were also greeted in the morning with Barbette's breakfast basket which was a nice surprise! Lovely host and lovely property and not too expensive either! 👍🏼👍🏼

    Kisca2019-12-03T00:00:00Z
  • It was such a lovely stay! Really nice location and they are very friendly! We'd stay again for sure!

    Frankie2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely time staying in the Shepherd's Hut while visiting Longleat Safari Park. Rebecca looked after us and provided a lovely breakfast basket each day. The hut itself is conveniently located for Longleat, and really cute and cosy with the fire going. We appreciated the little touches - the lavender sprig, milk in the fridge, and jazz on the radio. We were sad to return to reality at the end of the weekend! Nicola & James

*** An imposing special home in a very private and secluded setting *** Here's your chance to be Lord or Lady of the Manor! Set within a local preservation area, within several acres of its own private landscaped gardens. The house is a Grade II listed treasure and is the last remaining intact manor in Frome. Enough bragging! We don't live in the house, so it is perfectly set up for large groups to be together or splinter off and disappear into little areas for quiet contemplation or proper human chats without social media! Nestled in it's own little valley, on the edge of the beautiful market town of Frome. This 400 year old Elizabethan mansion is hidden behind tall stone walls within its own parkland like landscaped gardens. Entry is via a sweeping gravel driveway flanked by huge 300 year old beech trees. It can be booked in conjunction with the Coach House (see photo's) which is on the grounds (see property below) to sleep a further 8 to 9 guests in luxury. All 9 bedrooms in Manor have window seats offering views over the lovely gardens. Many bedrooms offer wash basin and shower and the larger ones have writing desks and seating. The Manor has magnificent interiors with fine decor; gold leaf, oil paintings, tapestries, oak panelling, busts, wall hangings. The large central staircase glides up 3 floors with impressive galleried landings. In the lounge a giant chess table and pieces, plus secret passageways and cupboards. There is a stone flagged patio with pub style benches to seat 20 next to a commercial sized BBQ, you will need to supply charcoal and implements. There is croquet lawn, victorian gazebo (not covered) and an ornamental pond plus fountain. Near the west wing is an original underground bomb shelter which was twice the size but has been partly bricked up for safety and then themed as a nineteen forties living room. Many regular guests gave us WW2 treasures to put inside. This 400 year old house boasts many original features including 500 year old oak beams which used to come from old galleon tall ships. You can still see where the ribs of the ships fitted into the beams. There are many amusing items like a novelty double base which opens up as a cocktail cabinet in the music room. In the Lounge a grandfather clock concealing a music system, open the base door and control music to the lounge and dining room. Below the grand staircase you will find a cupboard which contains a humorous doll size living room with doll sized period furniture, people kept pinching the dolls so we glazed it over so please do not try and crawl inside. Whilst preserving the features we have installed modern technology as much as we can; automatic ventilation in bathrooms, sensor lighting which comes on and off as you enter communal rooms, push button electric gates, digital keyless entry. It's not your usual cold draughty Manor, there is central heating in every room including corridors. All bedrooms have double four poster beds except the music room (9th bedroom) which has a pulldown double bed which can be pushed up and the room can be used as a function room for pre-dinner drinks as it is next to the lounge and dining room. All the bedrooms are themed. Eg pictures, ornaments, books etc all revolve around the theme. Eg there is the Ship Bedroom with model ships dotted around and a ships bell on the wall. There is the Teddy Bedroom which boasts over 80 cute little teddy bears dressed to perfection in different outfits (doctor, policeman, nurse, chef etc). We started collecting these and things got out of hand! There’s a dog room, cat room, ladies room, music room etc etc. The bedrooms range from average to huge with two bedrooms having and extra single bed in it plus a further pullout bed underneath. The house is ideally situated a few minutes from Longleat, half an hour from the Royal Spa City of Bath. The beautiful grounds of Stourhead make a lovely day out in all seasons, Wookey Hole is very popular too. We just love the place and we hope you do too! T O U R: Lobby: After entering through a large wooden entrance door you are greeted by a modest lobby with panelled ceiling, gold leaf chairs, tables with fittings, wall hangings and framed oil paintings start with a style that is continued throughout the house. At the end is the grand staircase, this impressive galleried oak staircase ascends to two more floors which contain six more bedrooms which all overlook the grounds. Library: On the first floor you will find the panelled library, it's not huge so don't be over expectant. It has an extensive wall to wall book collection and large decorative ancient bibles. A reading desk overlooks the west side and sets the mood. We used to provide board games but the bits were always going missing so we suggest you bring some, who doesn't love scrabble or monopoly? Drawing Room / Lounge: Many years ago, before our time, the drawing room was opened up to the lounge, this now offers a large open plan living room which is great for large social gatherings. Large Elizabethan style thrones face each other across an oversized chess board coffee table with hand carved giant chess pieces. See if you can find the secret door in the panelling that leads to the central staircase. At the lounge end, leather chesterfield sofas which we arranged in a horse shoe shape around four coffee tables. Another large throne (for her ladyship or his lordship of course) is strategically placed. The room boasts two original inglenook fireplaces and original 400 year old Tudor rose embellished plaster ceilings. Several window seats provide views over the lawns, central to these is an authentic Manor House "must have" an ornamental full size suit of armour. Sorry, an original costs thousands, but it looks the part and is good for a selfie. Please don't drag it to the garden or downtown (I've seen the face book picture!) as I am on my second one and can't get any more. Dining Room: A magnificent room. The main features of the dining room are the walk-in fireplace with original bread oven. Remember that this was the original kitchen where everything was done around this giant fireplace. The mahogany block floor was put in by the fabulous Victorians and has been lovingly restored. An enormous rosewood dining table with central tier for displaying food sets this dining room apart. Unlike traditional long tables where guest at one end can't see or hear guests at the other - this huge square shape table allows 18 guests to see and interact with each other at one table. You can squeeze more in if they sit at the corners but it is admittedly quite a squeeze. You can seat 4 more in the room at the servery tables around the edge. The rich red walls are adorned with wall tapestries, drapes, torches, flintlock guns, and ornamental animal heads (not real). This room is just ideal for a banquet, murder mystery party, medieval feast or simple get together meal. Kitchen: Suitably located near the Dining Room is a farmhouse style kitchen that is well equipped and large enough to prepare a five course meal for twenty. Matching rosewood cabinetry has been overlaid with red granite to provide plenty of nice clean work surfaces. A large but simple to operate six burner gas range and double oven for cooking with overhead extraction. The kitchen has pleasant views over the small enclosed back garden, ideal for monitoring the smaller children or the dogs in confinement from the Manors main sprawling grounds. Be careful to show them the spiky privets which we allow to grow for security. Breakfast Room / Pantry: Just around the corner and you'll find the breakfast room, don't get excited, it's very small, but has an "L" shaped breakfast bar seating three people, matching rosewood cabinets containing a generous array of crockery, pans, dishes etc many in a six foot shelved cupboard displaying almost everything in one area at a glance. A large group friendly fridge is kept here as it was too big to get in the kitchen. Utility Kitchen: Continue through the pantry past the second downstairs W/C and into a second utility type kitchen. It's quite small but more functional with large catering style splash backs. It is in this kitchen that you find the freezer, dishwasher and washing machine, another microwave and kettle, iron, ironing board, brushes, mop and bucket etc. It is an ideal place for outside caterers to organize their food, or to chuck all the messy dishes for later keeping the main kitchen clean. Games Room: Opposite the second kitchen is the games room a compact room with air hockey and darts (behind the door) and giant jenga (sometimes kept under the servery in the Dining Room. We couldn't squeeze any more in here as we had to fill it with laundry cabinets so the bedding was kept dry and warm. Hopefully it's enough to entertain children and 'the older boys' of the group. Music Room: Opposite the Lounge, the Music Room is decorated with a music theme, all the instruments in this room are ornamental eg please don't wrench them off the walls for a session! A window seat next to the piano overlooks the driveway. There is a central chandelier and stone fireplace. The double bass / cocktail cabinet is in here. This room is ideal for pre dinner drinks and when night comes a double bed, hidden inside a panelled wall, pulls down to instantly convert this room back into a bedroom if you need a ninth bedroom. West Wing: From the music room you can access the ground floor of the west wing. Along a corridor and into the rear lobby is the old servants' quarters. From here you will find a double bedroom and bathroom. Just like the other bedrooms, this bedroom has a view of the gardens and a double four poster bed. The bathroom is fitted with a traditional looking but modern slipper bath, separate shower cubicle, wash basin and toilet. The dark wood panelled ceiling does make it quite dark. If like us, you will probably find yourself just standing and staring at things on the walls that you hadn't seen the other day. We found tons of artifacts in the huge loft and cleaned them up and put them out. It makes for a very interesting and memorable stay. We see many guests return year after year wanting to do it again. Seeing grand old beautiful buildings being brought back to life and hearing of people enjoying these yesteryear treasures is our passion and we hope that you will leave the house with fond memories and just a little twinkle ; ) Ok, that's everything I hope. It's a lovely house with a lovely warm spirit. Relax, have some fun and enjoy yourself! Below is some info about the bedrooms ..... Themed bedrooms / bedroom facilities and sizes: Some guests like to allocate bedrooms to certain guests before they arrive. Therefore please find a list below. They are typed in order as you go through the house. I'm afraid that we do not have a layout plan but here's some info that may help. Bedroom 2. • Wow, what a gem of a place. The lion, the witch and the wardrobe came to mind on entering this house. We came to the UK for business and pleasure. The pleasure part was to spend time with our families. Staying at the Manor afforded us the space to all be under one roof with quality time and that is what we got. We loved cooking in the place because we had everything we needed to put a grand meal on the table. On arrival I expected to Manor to be on the cold side, it's a big place to heat, but it was toasty warm. Our hosts had the foresight to put the heating on and make it welcoming. The hot showers were superb with amazing water pressure, well done. There was no shortage of instructions of how and where to find and operate everything. There is a grocery store within walking distance and an easy walk into the beautiful town of Frome. Would I come back to this property, we are already considering our return for next year. Thank you Adrian and Claire

  • We hired both the manor and the coach house for a birthday celebration and had a fantastic time. The Airbnb description doesn’t do the house justice - it’s a gothic Alice in Wonderland house of curiosities, full of unusual artifacts and surprises in every nook & cranny! It’s walking distance to all the shops & restaurants in Frome so easy to get to by train. The owners were very helpful & super-quick to answer queries.

    Kaye2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • My friends and I had a lovely and fun week at Adrian’s and Claire’s. I recommend it big time for a large group of people for a weekend get away!

    Kelly2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay in this fantastic quirky house for a hen party. There was loads of space and everyone enjoyed exploring the different rooms and extra bits. Adrian and Claire were very responsive and happy to answer any questions we had about the house and local services. The level of information provided about the house definitely exceeded that provided elsewhere. It's perfectly located for Frome and close to the station for anybody travelling by train. I would definitely recommend this place for large gatherings.

  • A quirky duo of properties - perfect for a murder mystery. My guildies loved the atmosphere. Location made it a great base for exploring the area - Bath, Wookey Hole etc. Excellent and friendly communication. Super hosts!

  • This house is brilliantly bonkers! We stay in large house every Feb half term and, hands down, this is the best value we have found in 20 years. Like Bagpuss, its a bit saggy, baggy and loose at the seams, but it is hundreds of years old and dripping with quirky charm. The house was warm, clean and well equipped. Most guests reported comfy beds and the kitchen was well equipped. Frome is 15 mins walk and good for a potter. Lots of lovely walks. We would return without hesitation.

    Liz2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic house for big groups. Quirky and cosy. We had a great time!

    Nikki2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • The annex is a fantastic place to stay, lots of room and very homely. The added extras of the bean bags, wii, breakfast items were all great. We found the location to be really good for longleat and walking distance from pub/shop/takeaways. Loved the information about what the annex had been before!

    Katy2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely, self contained annex ... One of the best air b and bs we have stayed in.

    Laura2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time and would thoroughly recommend staying here. For us it was a convenient overnight stay after a Center Parcs spa day and before a day in Bath. The place is wonderfully clean, clear information about how to use the amenities and lots of nice touches to make our stay so comfortable. It’s lovely and quiet and I had the best nights sleep I have had for ages. We didn’t end up going out on the evening because we had so much fun playing on the WII games!

    Rachel2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • A sweet immaculate tiny private annexe house in good distance for many Wiltshire and Somerset attractions. Space to park, though it’s a tiny dead end lane so smaller car manoeuvring easier. It’s embedded in a housing estate with local shops walkable. Living areas are warm and cosy, but bring your slippers for the kitchen is a bit nippy. We had a lovely peaceful stay!

    Debs2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay and It was an ideal base for visiting Bath. The annex was cosy, warm and comfortable with a spacious lounge and fully equipped kitchen. The milk, eggs and bread were very welcome. Matthew and Charis are perfect helpful hosts.

  • We booked very last minute and are really glad we did. Sarah and Dave are great hosts, offered advice for a local dinner, and made check-in really fast and painless. Their room (with ensuite) was clean and comfortable, exactly what we needed for a quick overnight hideaway. The breakfast counter, including milk, cereal, juice, toaster and egg poacher is a great touch - saved us on buying breakfast. Couldn't recommend more. Thank you!

Very quiet room as it does not face a road but instead looks over a park with a very lovely oak tree. Westbury is a convenient location for it's transport links. You can get a direct train to London in 1hr25m, Bristol in 35 mins or Bath in about 25 mins. Westbury train station is about a 5 min drive from the property (20 min walk). The area is safe and quiet and there's an area nearby with a good pizza place, a wine bar and a Tesco Express.
This listing is for 1 room in a 3 bedroom house, however we are also renting the room adjacent to this one so, if you are travelling as a family, you can book both rooms if needed. In the park that's pictured there is a small children's play area which might be useful to know if you're travelling with little ones. There are only 2 of us living in the house. I work from home so I'm in most of the time and my wife works in Bath.
The house is in a residential area, situated right next to a quiet park. Within 6 minutes walking distance is a local shop as well as some local restaurants and a wine bar. A little further out is Aldi and then the town centre is about a 25 minute walk from the house. If you're looking for a scenic walk then it's really nice to go up to the White Horse - it's the famous horse which has been carved into the hillside at Bratton Downs. You can park at the top and walk right up to the horse. There's quite a large area you can walk around up there with great views from all sides.
  • William & Sheyde are great hosts, very good communication and very friendly. The room is ideal for a business trip, good internet and a comfy bed.

  • Will and Sheyde are a relaxed and down-to-earth couple. They were very welcoming during my stay and had an air of being very used to being around new people. This meant that they were easy to approach for advice and company. Their home is exceptionally clean, warm and comfy. I can't fault any part of my stay. I would seriously recommend you consider staying with them whenever you visit Westbury.

A Super clean, homely and still modern, beautiful place, you can tell he loves hosting people immediately. He made me feel right at home, and even drove me to the train station in the next town, when I missed my train to work! Nick is a real Superhost!

  • Any review of Laurel House must start with Hayley and Steve. Two lovely people rightly proud of their lovely house and who looked after me so, so well. It did really feel like being a house guest. I had their lovely little single room with a balcony, a bit chilly to try, and the oh so comfortable bed. Bathroom was immaculate with a lovely big bath which after a long journey I took full advantage of. Breakfast was lovely and when I took over the breakfast table to do some paperwork for an hour before departing Steve continuously fed me coffee. If someone wanted to learn how to be the perfect Airbnb host, staying a night at Laurel House would set them on the right path.

Not quite a barn and not really a cottage, to let. Therefore, a "Barnlet"! Birch Barnlet is 1 of 3 barnlets which are individually self contained or ideal for a group of 3 couples, all set in the gardens of our house. Bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and living area! Great base for Bath Christmas market - a short car or train journey away. Loads of walks, beautiful countryside and close to Longleat ( 11 miles). Simple, cosy space. Perfect for a couple looking to get away from all things busy...
A cosy little place for two that has a great location with accessibility to lots of interesting places - Longleat is close, with Stourhead and Stonehenge also not far away and you can see the Westbury White Horse from your patio. Bath, Frome and Bradford on Avon are all worth a visit. The nearest town is Trowbridge, which has several restaurants and an Odeon cinema. Two local pubs - The Farmhouse (Southwick) and The Moon (Rudge) - this is a charming "real pub" which is about a 30-40 minute stroll.
The property is on a lane (about a mile from civilisation), with neighbours on both sides, but other than that, we share the area with lots of fields, cows, horses and birds. There is a farm shop about a mile away, with a mini Tescos a bit further.
  • We booked Hayley’s place for a long weekend. Hayley is simply amazing, she’s friendly, communication with her was very easy and quick, she gave us a lot of useful information about the area, the things to do and places to go. The bungalow is located in a lovely place, between farms where if you’re lucky enough can see and meet some new friend, called sheep, cows, horses. We loved so much the style of the interior, we felt so cozy in there. We spent some relaxing mornings and nights here, and had everything in the kitchen to make breakfast or cook, bake something proper. We are pleased to could stay here and would recommend it to anyone who needs a bit of escape from any big city life.

    Szilvia2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice place in a peaceful location, had everything we needed for our week stay. Great hosts who were very friendly and helpful with their local knowledge. Would stay there again anytime.

    Luke2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay Hayley was great and went above the call of duty to give directions , check in , heaters on all fab when we arrived The wine and biscuits were an added touch. Will definitely stay again loved the accommodation x

  • Was a perfect stay for a long weekend away in Bath. Super quick responses, easy checkin, exceeded expectations. Highly recommend.

    Josh2019-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • A real little slice of paradise! Hayley is wonderful and sent us detailed instructions on how to find the Barnlets. The use of the Three Word App provided the best directions as the postcode sends you straight passed the gate. Check in was super easy with a lock box so the fact we arrived slightly earlier than expected wasn’t a problem. We stayed in Birch and it was so good we are already looking at when we can return. The kitchen was small but perfectly formed with everything you could need. Including the added bonus of a few little extras to see you through the first night. The two comfy armchairs looked out over the field as we were at the beginning of the block of three. There is no tv or WiFi which was actually very restful and peaceful. We listened to the rain and the sheep instead. The bedroom was a lot bigger than I had expected with a full wardrobe and chest of drawers. We both slept well despite the mattress seeming a little tired and passed it’s best. The bathroom is off the bedroom and again a good size with a spacious shower at the end. The shower didn’t have a lot of power to it but was lovely and hot. The water supply in general was quite noisy, especially when you flushed the toilet, so we made sure it was a reasonable hour before doing so! Lol The whole Barnlet is filled with beautiful beams and a lovely neutral decor. We were there in December and it was warm and cosy. We visited the Festival of Lights at Longleat Safari Park, which is approx 20 mins away. Bath is about 30 mins the other way so it was perfectly situated for both. All in all we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Hayley and her Barnlets. We will definitely be back to hide from the world. Next time we will bring a couple of board games with us as well. Perfect for a get away from it all sort of break. Thanks Hayley

    Jules2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • Hayley’s place was the perfect weekend get away - very chilled, perfect distance to visit the city of Bath and lovely to come back to after the busy Christmas markets. Very easy check in and local recommendations for dinner made our visit even better - thanks for a great stay!

Located 10 miles from Bath and 10 mins drive from Bradford on Avon, this converted stables is situated in the village of Hilperton, not far from the market town of Trowbridge. The house is one of three, converted from stables once owned by the farmhouse opposite. The deep window sills and 2ft thick walls gives it a cottage feel that's cosy in the winter and cool in the summer. The property is south facing and has a front garden to enjoy the sunshine in the summer.
It has private parking in the carport to the side of the house for 1 car, plus street parking if necessary. The house has a double bedroom and separate bathroom, with a shower over the bath. Downstairs is a comfortable lounge/dining area and separate kitchen with all the necessary equipment.
Besides the city of Bath and the historic town of Bradford on Avon nearby, there are plenty of walks plus a great little café down the road. There's also a local pub 5 mins walk away called the Lion and Fiddle which specialises in Gurkha style cooking.

You will have a single comfy room in a quiet house and neighbourhood. There is a bathroom with a shower. In the morning a simple breakfast of bread, butter and jam is provided. Off street parking is available and plenty of on-street parking close by. We are well-situated in a quiet road, only ten minutes’ walk from the centre of this thriving Somerset town. This modern house is a stone’s throw from the cobbled streets, independent shops and a brilliant selection of cafes and restaurants.
The bed is a single with the basics for a comfy stay. The shared bathroom is newly renovated and has a shower cubicle. I have been a little over zealous with a cleaning agent and there are now bleach marks on the walls of the shower. There are steps up to the house and the bedroom is up a flight of stairs. The kitchen can be used by agreement.
Frome is a vibrant town. It dates back to the middle ages and mixes old and new in a truly unique way. You will find independent shops scattered among brilliant restaurants and cafes. On the first Sunday of every month, from March to November, you will find the centre of town transformed into a market place. Independent traders from all over Somerset visit and set up their stalls and you will be fascinated by what is on offer. The food is pretty good at these events too! The house is in a quiet neighbourhood but with easy access to the centre of town and public transport links. When you stay with us you will realise how close you are to the places you’ve always wanted to visit. Glastonbury is just up the road. You can walk up to the Tor in the morning and then shop in the designer outlet ‘Clark’s Village’ in Street in the afternoon. Or why not visit Bath? You will discover Roman Britain and Jane Austin within a short walk of each other with shops and restaurants in between. If you fancy a day in the open air you can choose between Longleat and Stour Head. And only an hour away you can find one of the most world-famous landmarks of all – Stonehenge.

  • I really enjoyed my stay at Elizabeth’s. It was exactly as expected and looked just like the photos. The communication from the host was excellent - I had no issues with checking in or worries about anything. The pretty estate that the house is on is very quiet; perfect walking distance from the stunning town centre of Frome. My car was safe on the drive. There is a supermarket right across the road; it has everything that you need. The house is cosy and I was allowed to use the kitchen - great to prepare your meals if you have agreed before. Breakfast was a nice touch - toast with butter and jam with hot beverage. My room had a very comfortable bed with delicious biscuits/tea & coffee/kettle. Plenty of space to hang a few clothes for a few days. Desk and chair. The Wi-Fi was fast and stable with a good signal in my bedroom. I slept soundly here. I loved the powerful shower and decent bathroom. The place was sparkling clean and I would definitely recommend staying here. Elizabeth is an interesting, intelligent lady a we had a good chat. I will stay there again. It’s a superb base to see lots of interesting places. Excellent value for money. Thank you.

  • Nicole’s place is idyllic; it is surrounded by beautiful countryside which makes for great walks and a peaceful break. The house is spotlessly clean and has a big open plan kitchen and living room area, which was perfect for our family over Christmas. Nicole also added thoughtful touches like putting up a Christmas tree and festive lights outside, which was appreciated. If you’re looking for a rural retreat (but with easy links to nearby cities) then you can’t go wrong with this place.

She even rented us for the night, the whole first floor of the house, with private bathroom and even breakfast for next morning. The place was super cozy and wish to come back again on future trips. Thank you so much dear Pauline and well done for everything.

  • Excellent accommodation- very clean and comfortable with extra touches to make it special.

    Wendy2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful breakfast! Bread, biscuit, milk, coffee, yogurt, jam, butter...everything you need for a energetic morning! Although this place is stated private room, actually it is the entire upstairs level with private bathroom. The place is sparkling clean and Pauline welcome us to use the shower downstairs because the bathroom upstairs is bath tube, which is very catering. The front yard is spacious and can easily accommodate our car. We would definitely recommend it!

    Darren2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Great place, quiet but close to amenities. Really good location for longleat. Clean, with the extras such as breakfast and tea/coffee facilities being really welcome. Pauline accommodated us arriving earlier than expected and was very nice to us. Would recommend

    Emily2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Pauline was a great host and we had a nice time staying at her place. We would definitely come back if we need a place to stay in Warminster

    Ioanna2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Pauline's place is immaculate and it is lovely to have use of your own private bathroom and additional room. Although the rooms are within Pauline's home it is on a separate floor and space from the rest of the house so it feels really private. Pauline was super speedy with replies and was flexible when we asked if we could change our arrival times. The bed itself was super comfy I'd love to know where you get your duvet from! The room is great value for money and I will definitely be getting in touch with Pauline if we return to Warminster.

  • We had a lovely stay at Paulines & were very impressed with the accommodation & space. The location was perfect for us with a visit to Bath & Longleat, would highly recommend.

    Sophie2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed in The Tack Rook for two nights whilst we went to Longleat Safari Park which was only 15 minutes away. The pictures don't do this justice. Everywhere was very clean and cleaning/washing up products included along with hand soap/toilet rolls. The kitchen utensil drawer is well stocked with whatever you could need. The rear outside space is private and peaceful. Wish we could have had more time to enjoy it. We will definitely stay here again if we visit the area in the future.

    Phil2019-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely accommodation which is exactly as described. We spent the weekend visiting Longleat which is a short drive away, passing the white horse on the way! We were greeted by our very friendly and accommodating host who gave us some great information about the local area. The accommodation was beautifully clean and the kitchen offers everything you are likely to need on a visit. Would definitely visit again and will recommend this accommodation very highly

  • Lovely place out in the Wiltsbury countryside.

    Christyna2019-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • We booked last minute for a 2 night stay at the Tack Room and we were not disappointed. We were greeted by Jinder when we arrived who was very polite and and welcoming with great knowledge of the area. The farm is set in beautiful countryside and and the Tack Room was exceptionally clean with all the necessary facilities required inc cutlery, crockery, cleaning equipment etc. The location is perfect to explore the local area. The White Horse is less than 1mile away. Longleat is a 15 min drive. Stonehenge is 30min drive. Bath is also a 30min drive. I couldn’t recommend enough and will certainly stay there again when we return.

    Mandeep2019-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • The location of this venue is extremely quiet so you need a car. The tack room was so well equipped, we didn't cook but the host thought of everything from tea towels to a bottle opener. It was very clean and comfortable. Location is great for Longleat and not far from Bath.. THe hosts were very friendly and helpful but also did not bother you. Would definitely recommend for couples and families if you want it quiet but local pubs for food etc not far and very good.

  • Pam and Michael have been the best hosts I’ve had the pleasure of staying with. They are friendly, thoughtful and kind and the house is extremely comfortable, immaculate and has lots of little extra touches that make all the difference. I’ve stayed twice with them now and both times they’ve gone the extra mile to make my stay relaxing and enjoyable. Best hosts ever.

    Franziska2018-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • Pam is a fantastic host and a very nice person. The house is spotless clean and lovely decorated. Pam provides a great breakfast to make sure you have a good start of the day. It is a very good location with good bus connections and only about 12 minutes walk to the station. I wish I could have stayed a bit longer, not just two nights.

    Bernd2018-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • I was very well received. The owners were very careful with my wellbeing. The room is very nice to rest. And they could solve my problem to charge my phone. And gave me a charger as gift. They made a wonderful dinner when we were talking through Google translate. Excellent!

    LucasBeatriz2018-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • I cannot speak highly enough of my experience of staying with Pam and Mike. I was immediately made welcome and offered some tea, and I felt they would do anything to make my stay enjoyable. Later, Mike drove me to the Railway Arms. My room was quiet and comfortable, with tea/coffee and a TV, and the breakfast excellent. This is an example of just how good AirBnb can be. Thanks!

Having enjoyed letting out my double en-suite, I’m now opening up a single room at a lower rate. It has fewer amenities but I hope might be suitable for people coming for work purposes or single travellers who don’t need much space. Although I call it a single, it actually has a double bed, so very comfortable for one person. You will need to share my bathroom, but it is right next door and has a full bath with shower over - and only shared with me!
Although the room is small, it has a double bed, and there are shelves, a bedside table, a small desk/table and chair. There is a kettle and items for making drinks, and I provide some snack breakfast items to start off your morning.
Frome is a wonderful little market town, full of amazing independent shops and cafés - "best place to live in the south west" according to the Sunday Times. It is just a 10 minute walk to the centre down the attractive cobbled Catherine Hill - recently voted 14th prettiest street in Britain. On the first Sunday of every month (Mar - Dec) the whole town centre is taken over by the Independent Market full of quirky artisan and vintage stalls, delicious local foods and live music. There are also plenty of places to visit nearby. Longleat is just a 15 minute drive and it is only half an hour to Georgian Bath, Wells with its glorious Cathedral Close and Glastonbury's famous Abbey and Tor. World famous Stonehenge is only a 45 minute drive.
  • Great accommodation, room was very clean, spacious and cosy.

  • Jane's place is a fabulous find. I stayed in the single room, which is really comfy with a roomy double bed and lovely thoughtful touches, including kettle, coffee, tea and breakfast snacks. The WiFi was fast and reliable and there is even a little desk if you want to do some work. Jane was friendly and welcoming and was super-responsive: booking me in at very short notice! Everything was clean and Jane has taken real care with decorating the rooms with fun travel-themed accessories! The room was also great value and in a good location - just a short stroll into the old part of town and 25 min walk from the train station. Would highly recommend!

    Polly2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • My first time using AirBnb and my experience was amazing. Great room, great service and great communication, Jane was amazing in accommodating my request. The single room is quite spacious for a single and the double bed is so comfy. Would definitely use again when in Frome.

This lovely two bedroom former milking parlour in the tranquil hamlet of Brokerswood is within the grounds of a farmhouse dating back to Tudor times. Located at the edge of the ancient Selwood Forest, on the Somerset/Wiltshire border, this rural retreat is ideally located close to the historic City of Bath, Longleat House and Safari Park, Stonehenge, Salisbury and is just 3 miles from the artisan market town of Frome. A direct, fast train service to London departs from nearby Westbury.
The Old Dairy is an entirely self contained, detached property with private parking directly outside. The cottage itself has a boutique feel with super comfy beds and a warm cosy atmosphere: Spacious lounge/diner Separate kitchen 2 very good sized bedrooms; 1 double and 1 twin room (twin beds can be attached on request to create a cosier double) Bathroom with full size bath and shower. There is a big 'smart' TV in the lounge, as well as a DVD player and playstation with a selection of films and games.
Brokerswood's most notable landmark is the Grade II listed 'Tin Church' and the fabulous woodland landscape. At weekends and during school holidays, activities including canoeing, archery and 'Tarzan trail' high ropes can be enjoyed within the woodland - contact The Wiltshire Outdoor Learning Team for bookings. The picturesque Fairwood lakes, open daily, are less than a mile away - with a great cafe, sunny terrace, play park, soft play area and fishing (inc rod hire) for children and adults. Part of the Wiltshire cycleway route, Brokerswood is a great base for exploring the surrounding countryside using the public footpaths, bridleways and woodland trails. The area is very popular with horse riders and cyclists. There are countless quintessentially English pubs in the surrounding villages - closest, and within walking distance is 'The Full Moon at Rudge'. There are excellent restaurants and bars in Frome and Bruton and even more choice in nearby Bath.
  • We were very pleased with Georgia's place. It was warm and inviting. There we're many thoughtful touches and such cute decorations. There were no stairs which was perfect for my mom. My sister and I stayed in the room with two single beds and my mom stayed in the room on the other end of the house with the bigger bed. The beds we're extremely soft and comfortable. There was milk, orange juice, fresh eggs, croissants, bread, butter, jams, honey and cereal. Netflix was a nice option. The surroundings we're beautiful. This was one of my favorite places to stay and we would definitely stay here again.

    Sharon2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay in the Old Dairy. Georgia has left us a wonderful breakfast - fresh eggs, bread, orange juice - and all of the rooms were very clean, warm and cosy. Thanks for having us!

    Liv2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed here for a weekend and managed to visit lots of local landmarks, eat at some lovely places, whilst still finding the time to relax. We also visited Longleat Safari which is only 20 mins away. Lots of thoughtful little touches from Georgia (breakfast that lasted all weekend, luxury bath salts) my son also found a chocolate on his pillow that he was very excited about! There is so much to do nearby, but equally if you just want to chill out and relax, it’s the perfect place for that too! Thank you Georgia and Arron. I have already recommended the old dairy to several people!

    Kerry2020-02-23T00:00:00Z

    Leah2020-02-21T00:00:00Z

    Tom2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Gorgeous stable/annex conversion in rural location. 10 mins away from supermarkets etc. and perfect for a country escape. The property is much larger in person and has all the facilities/amenities you’d have at home. Thoughtful touches such as locally sourced fresh milk, bread and pastries were ready for us on arrival. As well as luxury toiletries such as bath salts, essential bath oils which made us feel like we were at home. All in all I’d say that this was the best Airbnb I’ve ever stayed in!

    Jordan2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • The Old Dairy is gorgeous. Not only does it look lovely but it is so easy to live in too, everything has been thought of. We had a fabulously relaxing 4 day break, the Dairy had everything we needed for a new year relax. Georgia was a wonderful host recommending gorgeous pubs to have dinner and the fabulous farm shop very near by. I felt she genuinely cared whether we had a brilliant stay. My son is absolutely smitten with the dog. The local area is lovely and plenty to see and do.

  • I had a fabulous experience very staying at the studio. It is a great little spot if you want to visit Bath and Bradford-on-Avon. I didn’t get a chance to look around the town, but it seems lovely and it was in good proximity to the train station if you want a quieter area but close enough to get to Bath quickly! Marsha and Dave were absolutely wonderful hosts and went out of their way to make sure my stay was good. This studio felt safe as a solo traveler and they left toast, tea, coffee and yummy marmalade for me. From the soft sheets, to the towel warmer, to the shower head, everything was great! I hope to return.

  • Before choosing to stay in Tracey's home, I read previous glowing reviews. I found them all to be true. Tracey's home is spotlessly clean and nice and warm, including the bedroom, (the radiator can be turned off if you prefer a cold room). Her home is well located and the area is nice and quiet, especially at night. I had a shelf in a kitchen cupboard and one in her fridge, for food, and it was easy to cook in her kitchen. There was ample parking. Tracey was very considerate regarding the shared use of the bathroom. She has a nice shower, and informed me, (without me needing to ask), that it would be fine if I wanted to have a shower both in the evening and morning. Tracey is a very special person. She made me feel like I was staying in a good friends home, and I would definitely like to return sometime in the future.

  • This is the second time I have stayed at Tracey's and, once again, I found it to be a true 'home from home'. It is quite impossible to put into words what a great host Tracey is - she is accommodating, hospitable and a fantastically engaging conversationalist yet never intrusive and she is on hand to help and advise as necessary yet you never feel you are being watched or monitored. I wholeheartedly recommend this Airbnb for anyone needing to stay in this part of the country for either work or leisure.

  • Excellent person! Excellent house!

    Jose2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed at Tracy's place for just over a week and found it perfect for what I needed - a quiet space with ample facilities and a charming, considerate host. I have no hesitation in recommending Tracey's place to stay and for the price its a real find.

  • A warm welcome in a nice friendly home - great value! Private parking was a big plus and Tracey was kind enough and environmentally conscious enough to let me charge my Electric Vehicle one night which extended my touring range! Lots of thoughtful touches that I hadn’t expected but was very pleased to find - like tea and sweeteners, a hairdryer in the room, lots of local information etc Above all Tracey was an interesting and welcoming Airbnb host - highly recommended!!

  • Really nice place to stay, clean warm and accommodating, Tracy is a lovely person, so easy to get on with

  • Great place to stay, amazing host

    Stu2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • This is a super let. The whole house was clean, functional, quiet, well located and perfectly described in the listing. As far as Tracey is concerned, it really is impossible to understate how fantastic she is as a host - readily available (yet never intrusive); flexible; considerate and really went the extra mile to advise on travel plans, local amenities and train times. 100% recommended. Many thanks.
