Places to stay in Waynesboro
I’m not going to try to convince you to stay at this Airbnb but instead address the issues that guests have complained about in reviews. This listing is priced accurately and cheap because there isn’t much besides 2 king beds, bathroom, washer/dryer. There is a bit of noise from upstairs when people walk around but that stops no later than 11pm. Please keep in mind when reviewing that you’re not paying very much to stay here. If you’re going to complain, please stay elsewhere.
Full access to lower level and yard. Unfortunately no kitchen on the lower level and not much furniture because I just moved in. I will be adding furniture and more amenities very soon! Perfect if you’re looking for a private spot to relax and sleep for the night. Check-in: 7pm Check-out: 12pm If you need an earlier check-in, let me know and we might be able to work it out. The reason it’s 7pm is so I have time to clean before each guest. Heating is provided through 2 space heaters which adequately heat the entire space. There is also a wood burning stove if you would like to bring some wood to burn. Brand new toilet! Installed on 6/21/19 Please keep in mind that this is a finished basement and not a hotel. I’ve received 3 star ratings because there’s not much besides the 2 king beds. Also it tends to be a bit noisy because I like to play music and the floors are squeaky. Please keep that in mind before reviewing my place! Thank you!
Very beautiful architecture around this area. There are great restaurants and a park nearby.
  • I can't say enough positive things about this location and the host! He was quick to respond and super accommodating! The place was fantastic and conveniently located. He will definitely stay there again!

  • David was easy to communicate with. It was a great place to stay overnight with my dog while I was travelling. (The bed is super comfortable!)

    Liz2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • David's place is located on a quiet street in a quiet neighborhood and is a 20 minute walk to Basic City brewery and Blue Toad cidery, not to mention all the other breweries and wineries within driving distance. As described, the suite has two king beds and is spacious and clean. Also worth noting is the water pressure in the shower is 10/10 amazing. Additionally it's worth noting that the suite stays pretty dark so if that's something you prefer for sleeping in then this place has it. The Wi-Fi was fast and reliable. Self check-in/out is very straightforward. Really all of the essentials are here and done very well for the price, making this stay an excellent value in my opinion. I hope David continues to operate and improve upon his Airbnb and I would absolutely stay here again if the opportunity presents itself.

  • Not a single complaint! My dogs and I came through as we were moving across the country, it was a nice comfy cozy place for the night. Could easily stay several nights here

    Kiersten2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Super great host! It’s exactly what he described it as. Location was also great. Only 30 minutes away from Wintergreen and a lot of breweries in between.

    Yarumy2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • I thought the place was very cozy and comfortable. The listing description and pictures are very accurate although i didn't hear any music really and you can't really hear people talking. The location is fantastic and you can see mountains right out the door. I briefly met the couple and they both seemed very nice. You will have plenty of privacy here. Thank you for being pet friendly, it is helpful!

  • Great stay, fantastic beds

    Wyatt2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • David's place was exactly as described and exactly what we needed for a quick overnight stay. The hot water and pressure in the shower was fantastic. Beds were very comfortable.

Our guesthouse is located in the historic Tree Streets Neighborhood of Waynesboro, VA, an official Appalachian Trail town, located at the southern end of the Shenandoah National Park. We've aptly named the guesthouse "The Stable" because it was originally built and functioned as a stable. It has since been converted into a cozy cottage for guests.
"The Stable" is located in our backyard, but has its own private entrance and porches. Boxwoods that line the neighborhood also provide privacy for guests. This is a 2-story guesthouse with a small kitchen that has an oven, microwave, coffee maker, toaster oven, and fridge. Basic dishware and cooking utensils are provided, along with coffee/tea and basic seasonings. Central heat is available and window air conditioner is located in the bedroom.
Our neighborhood is located just 4 miles from the Appalachian Trail and the southern entrance to the Shenandoah National Park. The famed Skyline Drive and Blue Ridge Parkway are just minutes away and Charlottesville is a quick 25 minute drive. Hiking, Skiing, Wineries and Breweries are all within a quick commute.
  • Really cozy little spot, very happy with everything, would definitely stay here again.

  • A wonderful, cozy place to relax in Waynesboro

    Laurel2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • The stable was beautiful! Their home, backyard, & guest home were all aesthetically pleasing! I couldn’t even tell that it was repurposed into an extended stay apartment from a stable. They gave helpful tips for the area, it was located not even 5 minutes from the southern entrance into the Skyline Drive of Shenandoah. They had very quick response times & were great with communication. They had helpful tips for the house as well.

  • While I did not get to stay here because of travel restrictions during this pandemic, Adam was quick to book and cancel my trip. He even was going to check and see if the owners would issue me a refund due to the circumstances. Nice guy. Very quick responses.

  • This place is as described and they were all very prompt with any needed information and in answering any questions. Nice hideaway in the m middle of Waynesboro. I enjoyed the rustic, simple life feel of it. I felt like the only thing I was missing was a proper old feather style fountain pen and ink!

This cabin sits on a 5 acre lot close to I.64 and Rt.250. It has nice mountain views from private back deck. It is close to (5 mins) the Blue Ridge Parkway and Skyline Drive. Also a short drive to all the local wineries and breweries. A Great location for hikers and cyclists! The Cabin is cozy/rustic with character. It has everything you should need to make your stay comfortable. Due to the coronavirus, we’re taking extra care to disinfect frequently touched surfaces between reservations.
Afton and Veritas wineries ( two of the best in the region) are located on the same road. There are several breweries and distilleries close by for your enjoyment too! The Cabin is rustic but very comfortable. There is a large kitchen/ dining room with a large farm table and large window that looks out to trees and the mountains. There is a nice small deck at the back which offers some outdoor space and privacy, nice spot to have your breakfast or just a cup of coffee!(if it's not too hot or humid!) There is a cozy living room that has a sofa bed and a very comfy chaise lounge (my favorite resting place!) the bathroom is located off the living room. The stairs leading to bedroom downstairs is a little STEEP but with rails on both sides it's safe (but probably not suitable for the elderly people or people with mobility issues or very young kids who need supervision). As you go down the steps you will need to " duck" your head slightly to avoid banging it against the overhead! (ouch). The bedroom is a large room that is the size of both rooms upstairs. There is one queen and one full size bed on each side of the room, offering some semi privacy. There is a laundry closet at one end of the bedroom, that you are welcome to use, there will be laundry soap available.
The Cabin is in the old neighborhood of Afton, close to the post office and former Afton depot. A quiet hamlet. it is also very close to the old historical Blue Ridge railroad tunnel that was built in the 1850's. At the time it was built, it became the longest tunnel in the USA. It is now being restored into a future recreational destination for hikers/cyclists as a trail that will connect Afton to neighboring city of Waynesboro. It really is a ni
  • My girlfriend and I stayed here while road tripping from Nashville to Maine. It was a little out of the way from our route but 100% worth it. The space is extremely comfortable, well stocked, and clean. Wes was very responsive and courteous. 10/10 would recommend.

    Samuel2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay at Wes’s place. The cottage was relaxing, had great aesthetic, and views of the mountains. We especially liked using the record player, the puzzles, and the coffee grinder! The kitchen was stocked with everything we could possibly need—Wes is really the host with the most! The heating worked great and we thought the beds were warm and comfortable as well. We loved the Blue Mountain Brewery just 7 minutes away from the Airbnb. We would love to come back sometime and would recommend this cabin to anyone!!

    Lauren2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Wes’s cabin is such a cute little place! I loved my stay here. It’s about two miles from where the Blue Ridge Parkway and Skyline Drive run into each other, and there’s tons of wineries down Rockfish Gap. The cabin is very quaint while still being well-appointed, and there are awesome touches all over. Even the doorknobs are gorgeous and I loved the old wood floor. I definitely recommend the space; it’s unbelievably precious and at such a great price!

    Kathryn2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful location, super peaceful and the cabin itself is so wonderfully decorated, was the perfect place to get away for an anniversary! Wes was fantastic, the amenities were lovely & just had the best time! 5 stars all around!

    Ash2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Great place, low price definetly worth a visit

    Stephan2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Wes’s cabin. Had everything we needed and hope to go back again soon!

    Amy2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Wes’s place really feels like staying in your own personal home, but away from everything. He has a wonderful record and DVD collection amongst many other amenities he offers to his guests. He also welcomes you to anything in the fridge/ cabinets, which was so nice. He’s really thought of everything, and all those extra touches made our stay beyond wonderful. The cabin is also in a super ideal location and has nice views. Definitely worth it’s value.

    Alexis2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • As most others have mentioned, this is a really nice and cozy stay in the Afton, VA region. Wes is extremely friendly and accommodating. There are a lot of wineries and breweries nearby! I highly recommend this cabin for a weekend getaway. My favorite part about the cabin? The cozy little nook in the living room that is perfect for reading and snuggling.

With the Coronavirus I have to leave after one night. I decided to come back in Canada before a possible border closure. Wise but sad decision!

  • Colleen’s place is absolutely adorable and well kept! We walked in a lot later than expected after a very long car ride and immediately felt hugged by this charming little cottage. Beautifully and tastefully decorated and had everything you could need provided. The dvd collection even kept us up later than we had planned because there were too many movies we wanted to watch! If you’re looking for a great bungalow for a weekend or even just overnight stay, this is for you. We will definitely be back.

    Becky2019-05-12T00:00:00Z
  • Colleen and Paul's place is great! Unbeatable views, friendly dogs (not in the home), and clean, cute cottage. Really couldn't have asked for more.

    Leanne2019-05-04T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful home away from home! Spacious, super clean, comfortable beds, beautiful views of mountains and farm setting! The host also provided us with Farm fresh eggs, and a wide variety of dvds to choose from. I’d definitely recommend.

    Natalie2019-04-28T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful little cottage on a quiet farm. Near the city of Waynesboro to get food and stuff to do. 30-45 mins to Charlottesville for even more stuff to do. Owner thoughtfully left us fresh farm eggs and fresh made quick bread. Fully stocked kitchen and LOTS of movies. Needs a few more kids movies (more Disney and pixar). They have an Atari which kept my kids busy. Cows and chickens to watch. Only a shower in the bathroom so maybe not the best for families with very small children. Sparkling clean house with comfortable beds.

    Brenna2019-04-20T00:00:00Z
  • The farm is beautiful and Colleen and Paul are wonderful hosts. We arrived late because of traffic and they had the lights on for us and homemade bread and eggs from their chickens! The kitchen is well stocked and cottage was cozy and just what we needed for a weekend out of the city.

    Amy2019-04-15T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing cottage on the farm. Colleen is a wonderful hostess and this is a perfect place to unwind

    Ruchi2019-04-03T00:00:00Z
  • If you are looking for a peaceful and beautiful location, Colleen and Paul’s cottage fits the bill! We really enjoyed the experience! Colleen couldn’t be more gracious and welcoming to the area, sharing tips on favorite places to visit, eat, etc.

Cape Code style House hosted by Digger Jay. A great place centralized close to Harrisonburg, Staunton, Waynesboro, and Charlottesville. Located in Augusta County Virginia, you are close to the Blue Ridge mountains and Allegheny mountains with plenty of camping, hiking, fishing and hunting areas, and very good restaurants. Come join us for wonderful fall foliage. Take a ride across Rt 250 west through the Allegheny mountains. Taste some of our fall apple butter and wild edibles.
  • 10/10, would recommend. Jay's place is in a great location relative to downotwn Staunton and the room is as advertised. Jay is very welcoming, hospitable, and flexible.

    Hannah2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Digger Jay's is a terrific place in the heart of a fascinating ecological, geologic and cultural region. Staying at his place was like being a guest at his home rather than just a nightly roomer. He and his brother in law are very kind and interesting and excellent for conversation. The room is charming and replete with Tinkerbell images along with fascinating articles as to Digger Jay's expert wildcraft and foraging expertise and business. Really a great time! Convenient to Staunton, the American Shakespeare Center, and the Blue Ridge Parkway.

    Brina2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Jay was a wonderful host; great to talk to. Great centralized location with lots to do within 30 minutes. My son and I had a great time and would definitely be back. I saw a couple reviews said about dogs, but we didn't hear any. Thank you for a great stay!

    Shaun2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Jay’s for a night, driving through the Shanendoah Valley and it was exactly what we needed. Good location, comfortable bed and a good nights sleep. Jay is really nice and is easy to get hold of.

  • Jay is a thoughtful and accommodating host, and a sincere and sweet person. I highly recommend staying with him!

    Sera2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely rustic home literally minutes off I-81. The host sent check-in instruction which was great since we arrived late and didn't want to bother anyone. The best part was the cat who came over to check on us and later came by and purred us to sleep.

My place is close to Western Albemarle wineries, breweries, Skyline Drive/Appalachian Trail. The house is located on the Route 76 bike trail, and walking distance to Pollack Vineyards. Easy drive to Crozet, Charlottesville, Waynesboro. Private and inviting room and bathroom, with private entrance. Also available for use is the deck and gazebo located at your entrance.
  • Andy's place was very cute and had a gas fireplace to keep the space nice and warm!

    Jordan2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Andy’s place was perfect for us. We were visiting Charlottesville for a quick weekend trip. His spot was out of the way enough to feel relaxing, but not so far as to be a chore. Perfect for visiting the breweries located out near Crozet/Waynesboro. The place is clean and very comfortable. Communication was great as well. Give this place a try!

    Tony2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely room and bathroom, Andy was very quick to respond. Perfect if you’re travelling the Blue Ridge Parkway or the Skyline Drive.

    Paul2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely room with its own entrance in a great location - Minutes from a few of our favorite wineries and breweries. Andy was very nice and very communicative. A great spot!

    Annie2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Andy's place! Easy check-in and private entry. Comfortable bed and coffee available in the morning. ~30-40 min drive to Wintergreen for skiing. Thumbs up all around!

    Lenna2020-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful experience, and the accommodations served their purpose perfectly. Thank you for you hospitality!

    Octavia2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • Check In was super easy and Andy’s place was almost like a completely private stay since the bedroom and bathroom were separated from the rest of the house like a guest suite. The fireplace was a nice touch and we loved the updated bathroom! (Jack and Jill sink, jacuzzi tub that we couldn’t figure out how to work, and decent size shower). There were also some brochures left out to inform us on the area, and a French press coffee maker that we used in the morning. In addition, a fridge was available for us to store our dinner leftovers and a hair dryer and some shower amenities. Our only complaint was coming home from dinner the backyard is not very well lit, so we had to use our phone flash lights to guide our way and since the room is a house attachment, you can hear the next door TV, dog, or kids. If we ever return, we would definitely stay here again, though!

  • The photos simply did not do the interior of this home justice! Gorgeous kitchen and family room, with really unique decor and furniture. We loved it for a weekend get away. We had three couples who each got a private area in which to sleep and then the others on the trip shared the queen bunk room, which worked out great. Amanda was extremely communicative and had speedy responses. A wonderful host!

This beautiful 3 bedroom, 2 bath home is nestled in a safe and quiet neighborhood in the center of Waynesboro. Located just 30 minutes from Charlottesville and 15-20 minutes from many local breweries, distilleries, and vineyards. Enjoy the comfort of a family friendly neighborhood within walking distance of restaurants. Explore Charlottesville one day and the Shenendoah Valley the next! Recently updated to include a coffee maker with coffee provided and a 55” smart tv!
Newly purchased grill now available for use! Remember this is a fully functioning family home. We are very laid back and work hard to make the place accommodating for guests but there are clothes in the drawers and closets and toys put away in the play room. There is a lot of table space to set clothes if you prefer to unpack. :) We have a small dog who will leave with us when you come. Dogs are allowed, as long as they are clean and don't chew!
We live in a nice quiet, family friendly neighborhood. We are within walking distance of a sheets, a Mexican restaurant, and a Japanese restaurant. We are a short drive to many wineries, breweries, shopping, and indoor and outdoor activities.
  • Roomy home. Very convenient to the Blue Ridge. The home has a very nice kitchen. The master bedroom is huge and the bed is comfortable. There isn't a place to hang clothing or any dresser drawers to use, so you are not really unable to unpack. It's not problem for a day or two. But if you plan to stay several days, this could be annoying. Overall, it's good value for the money and I would definitely stay again!

We easily could’ve stayed there the whole time, but the location was super convenient to other attractions in the area. We highly recommend!

  • The location is absolutely unique and beautiful, the interior is very comfortable and thoughtfully done, the setting is really perfect for a couple. When we found ourselves short of salt and cooking oil, the owners (at the brewery) were generous to provide it and save us a longer run to the grocery story, that was very kind. We very much enjoyed our stay and would return and recommend this property to anyone.

  • This was a perfect place for a weekend getaway with my friends! We felt very safe. The location was great for all of the breweries and the price was great also. We will definitely stay here again when we are in the area!!

  • Our stay at the Farmhouse was awesome! It’s super cutely decorated, and everything we needed was there. Sarah was quick to respond and helpful with checking in/out. This place was the perfect size for me, my husband, and our golden retriever, Charlotte. She loved playing ball in the large field beside the home. We hope to be back next year!

  • Sarah's place is amazing! We loved everything about our stay

  • Cute cottage. Clean and well maintained. Owners are close should you need them. Great location near multiple wineries and breweries.

    Dawn2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Sarah’s place was absolutely beautiful. We loved her space, it was cute and nicely decorated. It felt like a home and not just an apartment. A con that didn’t really affect us was that the person who stayed in her AirBnB before us took the house keys, so we didn’t have a set. However, it didn’t bother us since we only stayed a night. Also the main/full bathroom is in the master bedroom. So, if anyone wanted to use the bathroom they would have to go inside the bedroom. Additionally, parking is difficult since it’s in a small community with limited paved roads. Nevertheless, this barn house is a gem and comes highly recommended!

  • Great escape

  • I have been staying at airbnb's now for 2 years, and this was by far the most enjoyable visit we've had.... I have a son who is blind and has autism, and he loves to sing. Dana's daughter is also blind. They visited us downstairs in our private basement which had EVERYTHING you could possibly need, and her daughter and my son sang together for about an hour. It was so refreshing..... CAN'T WAIT TO STAY WITH THEM AGAIN NEXT YEAR!!!!

  • A nice Airbnb for our trio to Harrisonburg! The commute wasn’t too far. The space was clean and comfortable with a decent amount of space. Just FYI - as it’s getting into winter now, the front stairs do get super icy! We would stay here again!

    Josephine2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • Loved our stay here! Beds were comfortable and the apartment bigger than I expected. Convenient to great hiking areas as well as plenty of wineries. Would definitely book again!

Incredibly spacious, bright, cozy, clean, and homey. Nicely stocked kitchen & mountain views. "Larger than we expected. Great beds &linens." Awesomely located Minutes from Shen. Nat. Park, Skyline Drive, Blue Ridge Pkwy, wineries and the Brew Ridge Trail. Hike - Bike - Relax. We like questions: Can we bring our dog? May we just rent 1 night midweek? Do you charge full price for kids under 10? Make a detailed inquiry -you may like our answers. Alongside the future Blue Ridge Tunnel Trail
Located 3 minutes from The Nelson 151 Trail. The trail provides a convenient way to sample Nelson County's many wineries, cideries, distilleries and breweries along scenic Route 151 and there are even more scattered around Nelson County. For best pricing, when making a booking request please describe the total # in your party, the number, and ages of any children traveling with you and if you intend to bring a dog(s)- please describe - we have a crate kennel we'll set up for you (pet bedding not provided) if your pet is crate trained and you would prefer to leave yours at home. There is a pet fee. The house is over 100 years old and has been thoroughly modernized. The unincorporated Village of Afton was established in 1859 with the opening of a train station and Post Office. Richmond families escaped the heat of summer at the nearby Afton House Hotel. Air-conditioning changed habits and the Hotel was converted to a home that unfortunately burned to the ground in 1963. The freight station shipped tons of fruit from the surrounding orchards. The Albermarle Pippin (or Newton) apple was made famous by Thomas Jefferson and was one of the first apples exported to the U.K. when Queen Victoria lifted import duties on Virginia fruit to encourage the availability of her favorite apple. The train station closed and demolished more than 50 years ago with a replica built as an attorney's office. The original rail line to Crozet's tunnel was replaced in the early 1940's with another line about 50 feet to the south. Amtrak's Cardinal still comes through 3 times a week in both directions during the afternoon making its way between NY-Chicago and unscheduled empty coal trains move westward with varying degrees of frequency. We estimated from 0-3 times per day on average and most often during the day but they also come through at night, there is, as stated, no schedule. The active track lies about a football field's length below the house. We live just 15 minutes away and are available in case of an emergency up or to answer questions: local history, hiking, biking, restaurants etc. The tax rate is 10.3%. Airbnb collects the state sales tax of 5.3% and the Nelson County Transient Occupancy of %5 is included in the posted rates Discounted special offers may be sent for mid-week getaway visits and for visits of 5+days. 30+ night rates are custom quoted and are limited as to occupancy and scope. Stays of 90+ days are exempt from sales tax, contact us for information, occupancy and other terms are subject to change for any 30+ day guests; please make a detailed inquiry.
The house is on a private dead-end lane a stone's throw from the once thriving rail-stop Village of Afton. The highway was once the main thoroughfare over the mountain. There's a lot history but other than the Post Office, occasional empty coal train and Amtrak passenger train passing by there's not a lot going on.
  • This is a such a cute place in a great location. We were right down the road from two of our favorite wineries - Afton and Veritas- and very close to all the breweries, cideries and wineries of the Nelson 151 corridor. The house was clean, warm and cozy - the master bed was so comfortable. I wish it had been warmer to enjoy that beautiful starry sky and welcoming fire pit. Maybe next time!

  • The Afton Cottage is a delightfully cozy and wonderfully kept home-away-from-home with some surprisingly stylish and modern updates! Me, my GF, and our two pups stayed for a long weekend and could not have been more pleased. Tom was super responsive during booking, leading to checkin, and even when our power got knocked out from a crazy wind storm that blew through (Tom had already called Constellation Energy before we'd even realized the power was out!). His place was immaculately clean, and had all the amenities we were looking for: An updated, fully-stocked kitchen, a beautifully updated bathroom with a giant vanity (the lady was quite pleased!), and a cozy bed to crash in at night! The location was also fantastic: 5 minutes from Skyline Drive, 8 minutes from Blue Mountain Brewery, about 20 minutes to half-a-dozen others, 30 minutes to Wintergreen Ski Resort. We were never at a shortage of things to do! Additionally, you're within 15 minutes of Waynesboro, VA which has grocery stores, restaurants, and any other creature comforts you might be missing. All-in-all, we had a wonderful time, and would absolutely stay again. We're already planning a trip for next fall and will absolutely be booking this spot if we can!

  • Looking for a relaxing weekend in the mountains, but in a house that has all your normal luxuries? This is the place. Wonderful views, and a quick 5-10 minute drive to Blue Mountain Brewery and several Vineyards. Looking forward to booking again.

  • We had an amazing stay! The house was clean, organized, and supplied with everything we needed. Tom was helpful in making sure we had directions and came to turn on the lights for our arrival. We are already planning on coming back soon!

    Rachel2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • This is THE best family home in Afton. My wife, three young daughters, and I stayed three nights for a wedding at a local vineyard. The home was immaculate, could not have been more convenient to hiking, vineyards, breweries, and so much more. Best part? The precise location felt so secluded and peaceful. It’s a rare treat to find something close to the fun but private. Thank you for making a great weekend truly wonderful!

    Mike2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • Extremely clean, well stocked and centrally located place which puts you into many wineries, trails, antique stores and orchards within 5-10 minutes. Hosts are extremely responsive to questions and/concerns, which were non-exsistent for our family. Kitchen is very well stocked with appliances, oil, spices as well as detergents for kitchen, dishwasher, clothes and body. It slept our family of 5 comfortably. Great place, great locale, extremely private, but it is close to train tracks which go by a few times a day, but for a very brief stint. We found it to not be bothersome at all and definitely not a reason to not choose this place. Enjoy!!!

    Tamara2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • I am selfishly hesitant to write a good review because then the world will find this place. We booked it for convenience for a family reunion in the area, but would maybe book it again without letting the family know! I have high expectations of Airbnb and this home was above and beyond. The owner has thought of every amenity, large and small, to make this a home away from home and a pleasure to stay, enjoying coffee on the front porch, reading on the back porch, awesome renovated bathrooms and open floor plan kitchen/living area. The location is perfect for exploring the Blue Ridge Parkway, the wineries of Nelson County, small towns, or just retreating and never leaving. Just a great experience.

  • My husband and I have visited many B&Bs and this is by far the best we have ever visited. Dana has paid attention to every detail and has put her heart into creating a comfortable beautiful space! Very comfy beds, plush towels and robes, beautiful furnishings original to the home. The breakfast was out of this world and this is the only place that has ever offered the option of breakfast in the dining room or breakfast in your room. We will definitely be back many times over and tell everyone we know that they will not be disappointed.

  • This house is large, well decorated, VERY clean and well cared for. The kitchen is fully equipped and coffee/creamer/sugar readily available, as is the laundry with soap and dryer sheets. The room was comfortable and the other guests were very friendly. Overall, we had a wonderfully comfortable stay and will visit again when we get to Waynesboro.

  • Adam’s place was comfortable, clean, and enjoyable. It’s close to downtown Waynesboro, with plenty of parking. It will be my choice next time I need to stay in Waynesboro.

    Mike2019-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • I didn’t see Adam, his Airbnb was self checkin which was seamless and easy! The space was very clean and had everything you needed for a quick stop over in Waynesboro. It’s located in the center of the tiny town. It is a shared bathroom, and a few additional guest rooms. No issues there except a guest who had her tv very loud in her room which she was super polite about adjusting once we asked! I’d definitely recommend if you’re looking for a stopover in Waynesboro.

    Sarah2019-10-09T00:00:00Z

  • Having known the Swett family and this home for the last few years all I can say it is as beautifull as they are. My out of town family stayed here the weekend of my sons wedding and they could not have had better accommodations. Everyone loved the home and it was the perfect location. They have thought of everything to make your stay here better than you could imagine. Stay here!! You will not be disappointed. Thank you John and Barb!

    Kelly2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely house - amazing decor, it's almost like Joanna Gaines was here. Lovely location in proximity to hiking and wineries making it a perfect locale for girls weekend or family fun. Many of the friends I went with were so enamored with the house that they are claiming they will be back with their families for future fun!

    Andrea2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • A previous review stated that the pictures of this home doesn’t do it justice. When I read that, I was pretty skeptical. Until we arrived, they were so right! This is my dream house, not an exaggeration. The bedrooms are well appointed and the master and en suite are gorgeous with plenty of room. There is a game room that my kids loved playing on the Xbox and they have a variety of board games for the whole family to play. My absolute favorite room was the kitchen. There was plenty of counter space and utensils and a large window overlooking the backyard which is gorgeous. This home has everything you need for a short or long getaway. Cannot say enough good things about the owners, they were amazing! Can’t wait to come back.

    Erica2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had an incredible stay at John and Barb's place. The home itself is super stylish, clean and comfortable, with even the smallest touches in place that made our stay the best it could possibly be. John and Barb also were wonderful hosts - they answered any questions, let us fish in the pond and feed the fish, and -- along with their lovely neighbors -- thrilled the kids with some farm equipment adventures. We made some great memories and can't recommend staying here enough!

    Gary2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • This is a beautiful and clean house. Our family had so much fun. Barb is so thoughtful. Every detail about our stay was perfect!

  • There is no negative i can point out with this property. Our family was in true easy comfort staying in this lovely home. It is centrally located between Staunton and Charlottesville. Close to hiking, wineries, breweries and fishing, with lovely views. we will return if the opportunity arises.

  • Barb and John have made this place not only beautiful and welcoming, but by their outstanding kindness and generosity they make you feel like family. They had many thoughtful touches throughout the house such as a huge supply of food and snacks (which my kids devoured), an air purifier and multiple tv spaces so we could all spread out when we wanted. The view from the back yard when the sun comes up is breathtaking. And probably the hi light of our stay was when John not only showed my children the fishing pond, but spent the whole time helping them catch fish after fish. Thank you both so much for a wonderful time.

Richmond families were often traveling to Afton to escape the heat and humidity. The most notable were James and Sallie May Dooley of Maymont, who built Swannanoa Palace and Gardens on top of Afton Mountain as their summer “cottage”. Neighboring us is this 23,000 square foot fully marble Italian Villa built in 1912. Our home is the old gatekeeper’s cottage when the formal entrance and marble gates still stood to serve those who wished to travel up to the beautiful Swannanoa. Swannanoa is privately owned and open seasonally for tours.
You are just walking distances to the beautiful historical landmark, Swannanoa. Minutes away from Waynesboro, near many local wineries, breweries, Skyline Drive, Blue Ridge Parkway, Appalachian Trail, Wintergreen Resort, University of Virginia, Charlottesville, and Staunton.
  • The cottage is in the perfect location. Beautiful scenery as far as eye can see and the house is perfect. You are 15-20 minutes from all of the great attractions and 30 minutes from Charlottesville if you want to head into the “city.”

Relax during your visit, with tea at the nearby Anne Hathaway Cottage Tea Room or a glass of wine at the Ox-Eye Vineyards Wine Tasting room. Follow-up with ice-cream at The Split Banana Co!

  • We live our stay at Robert and Alaina’s place and we can’t wait to visit again soon! The beds were super comfy and the place was cozy and had everything’s out need for a short trip. It was in walking distance to downtown and the walk from the house to downtown was one of our favorite things about our stay in Staunton!
