The Boat House is a unique space which sleeps 2 in one bedroom/sitting room. Fully centrally heated and completely renovated last year, the property has a wonderfully sunny patio where you can relax after a busy day exploring the area. The accommodation comprises of one large room upstairs which has a Feather and Black bed which can be split into twin beds or made into one large double bed. This room also has two armchairs and a TV with a large inbuilt desk set under a window which looks out towards the Broad and the moored boats. This is a wonderful space for the budding writer or for enjoying breakfast. The original staircase (fairly steep) leads down to the kitchenette (please note, no oven) and wetroom. The wetroom has underfloor heating. There is a pub and a cafe in the village, both 5 minute's walk away which serve lunch and evening meals (only the pub serves the latter). There is also 'The Ship Inn' in South Walsham which serves meals and is just over a mile away. The apartment is dog friendly, we accept one well behaved dog. HOT TUB RENTAL £75 per short break. The tub is filled and heated for your arrival and comes with a chilled bottle of prosecco! Homemade cake, fizz and balloons for special occasions £30
Ranworth is a beautiful village in the heart of the Norfolk Broads. There is a nature reserve in the village which has a thatched visitor centre on stilts at the end of a boardwalk which overlooks Ranworth Broad. From here you can take wildlife trips on the Norfolk Wildlife Trust boat. There is a huge array of birds and wildlife to observe and listen to here. The rare swallowtail butterfly can often be seen in the garden. Ranworth church which you can see from the property is known as the 'Cathedral of the Broads'. Climb up to the top of the tower and enjoy wonderful views of the village and views all the way across to the coast. The church is known for it's beautiful rood screen and antiphoner and is well worth a visit. There is also a cafe here. A few minutes walk from the accommodation is the staithe which is host to the many boats which visit the village. Here you will find a pub, shop (closed from November until March) and cafe. It's a great spot to have a meal or a drink and watch the world go by. There are walks in the area and you may also like to visit the nearby Fairhaven Woodland and Water Gardens, which comprises of 53 hectares (131 acres) of beautiful ancient woodland, water gardens and a private broad at South Walsham. Amongst the many things that make living here special, are waking up to the sunshine with the mist hanging over the broad (with the boom of the bittern in the distance if you are lucky!), listening to the owls hooting late at night and drifting along the river on a boat. There is so much to see and do here not only in the village but also in the rest of the Broads. We are also close to many beaches. Winterton beach is a favourite both with locals and our guests. There is cafe right on the beach and a cosy pub in the village of Winterton. Norwich is only half an hour away with it's wonderful shops and museums. Wroxham is 15 minutes away where you can hire a boat to explore the waterways and there are fishing jetties on the River Bure, about 10 minutes drive away. Imagine Spa in Blofield Heath has a range of relaxing treatments available too, again only 10 minutes away!
  • We stayed at the Boathouse and it was absolutely amazing! Jane was very thoughtful we was left with some cookies which was a nice touch. Jane sent me a huge message beforehand explaining how to gain access, directions and things to do whilst we was there. Hot tub was an amazing touch with free champagne. I asked Jane to put up some birthday balloons beforehand and she did with no fuss about paying etc which was lovely. When we arrived there was alpacas in the field behind the boathouse which was lovely. Would you 100% go again!!

  • Wow! A charming, high quality and very special place to stay. The attention to detail and cleanliness are exceptional. So many little touches that were very much appreciated. Lovely views of Ranworth Broad to the front, and to the Church and Alpacas to the rear; and what a treat the Alpacas are to watch from the hot tub... Our only disappointment was that we did not book more nights! Thank you Jane, so much.

  • The perfect get away!! Jane was a lovely host and the boat house is amazing. The hot tub was ready as soon as we got there which was nice and relaxing. Jane also had a homemade cake, Prosecco and balloons ready for the arrival for my boyfriends birthday. Will definitely be back in the future!

  • A lovely place to go for a relaxing weekend, very clean and has everything you need. 100% recommend going here!

  • My boyfriend and I spent a lovely 4 days at Jane's Boat House in February. The place is just as lovely as it looks in the photos and the views from both sides are very picturesque, even in gale force winds and lashing rain! We loved sitting at the front window overlooking the broads and boats - it was so relaxing and peaceful. Similarly, the sheep and alpacas in the field to the back kept us amused chasing each other around. So sweet! The Boat House is so cosy, warm and snug and the bed is so comfortable. There are also sweet little touches dotted around like freshly cut flowers and sea shells decorating the bath towels. Despite the weather we did manage one evening in the hot tub which was wonderfully relaxing. Jane provides big robes to put on afterwards for the dash back into the warmth. As other reviewers have mentioned, the stairs are very steep but thankfully there are hand rails on both sides so you soon get used to them. Just make sure you have at least one hand free and don't attempt to go down laden with crockery and glasses! We enjoyed a couple of lovely meals out - the first in the Ship Inn just down the road in South Walsham and the other a little further afield in the King's Head in Holt. We also visited the Malsters for a few drinks which is only a 2 minute walk away. The beach at Winterton is a lovely place for a long walk. Jane wasn't around when we first arrived but the self check-in is very easy with the use of a key safe and means that you don't feel like you are disrupting anyone's day. When we met Jane on the second day she was very friendly and welcoming and definitely strikes the right balance between letting you know she is always on hand whilst ensuring you have complete privacy during your stay. All in all we had a fantastic time and are already thinking about when to go back. The Boat House is the perfect location for a long weekend of total rest and relaxation.

Charming quaint cottage approx 150 years old with beams and a large inglenook fireplace. Like home from home with all you need including WiFi & a Smart TV including Netflix. A lovely secluded garden with Hot Tub, close to blue flag sandy beaches and award winning restaurant - both just a bike ride away! A warm welcome awaits you!
An old cottage with a large inglenook fireplace which is very warm and with great Wifi access. The TV is a modern HD Smart TV. Brand new kitchen/diner and a great HOT TUB in a private secluded garden!! Please note the large walk in Shower Room is located downstairs! Lovely award winning restaurant not far from cottage, or the local pub in the other direction - both a short distance from the Cottage. Long sandy blue flag beaches just a bike ride away! What more could you want from a holiday cottage? Sorry no pets!
There's a very welcoming pub - the Star, a short distance from the cottage or the other direction an award winning restaurant The Ingham Swan ((website hidden)) which you have to book about 2 weeks in advance!! Weavers Way paths all around, long sandy blue flag beaches (Cart Gap, Sea Palling, Waxham & Horsey), and Seals at Horsey from November - February! Lovely coastal paths through the dunes etc.
  • The cottage is perfectly situated in the countryside, only a couple minutes drive to local pubs and about an 8 minute drive to Tesco. Star gazing in the hot tub was amazing and then coming inside to sit by the log burner playing cards & scrabble, it really felt like a nice break away from everything. Shelley had left us butter, eggs, bread and milk so we were able to make some coffees and scrambled eggs on toast in the morning before we headed to Horsey to see the seals. The house has a very cosy vibe and would recommend visiting in either winter or summer. This is a perfect getaway for couples but if you are bringing children I would recommend visiting in summer when they can go play in the large garden or visit the beaches, especially as Great Yarmouth is only a short 30 minute drive away! The cottage had everything we needed in terms of towels, hair dryers, kitchen utensils and appliances etc. Just perfect, thanks so much again for having us!

    Amelia2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • Shelley's cottage could not be more perfect. A clean, cosy cottage with a hot tub that's just perfect for star gazing - even in cold, windy February! Can't wait to visit again!

  • This pretty spotless cottage is ideal for a relaxing break, a nice pub nearby and close to some beautiful beaches

    Nicola2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful cottage! We thoroughly enjoyed cooking meals in the kitchen, playing games in front of the fire and looking at the stars whilst sitting in the hot tub. The eggs, bread and butter were also a lovely unexpected touch. Would strongly recommend and hope to come back some day

    Nicky2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Very good and clean cottage. Great for couples in a fairly quiet location with plenty around it to do. Hot tub was great.

    Andrew2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely cosy little cottage in a quiet rural location. We loved the hot tub and the real log fire! A great base for exploring the local beaches and other sights.

    Simon2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Just spent the weekend here with my daughters. We all loved it! The cottage is spotlessly clean and very cute. Shelley had left bread, eggs, butter and milk for us. The cottage has neighbours either side but is very private still. The hot tub is amazing. Lovely and warm even when the ground was frosty! Would definitely book again! Thank you Shelley :-)

Sandy Lodge is a home set in the sand dunes with a terrace and gate leading directly up and over to the beach. It has three bedrooms, a sunny lounge with wood burning stove and well equipped kitchen and bathroom. Check us out on Vimeo 'Sandy Lodge Sea Palling'
Our home has 3 bedrooms, can accommodate 4 adults only in 2 double beds and there is 1 single bed, but as this room leads off of the double we consider this a children's room. There is a sunny lounge with a wood burning stove heating the lounge, kitchen and front bedroom. The two back bedrooms (one leading off the other) have 2 small plug in radiators. The kitchen is well equipped with a dishwasher and washing machine. The bathroom has a bath and powerful shower fitted over it. There is a heated towel rail that can be switched on and off, but it's hot so take precautions with children. We will supply enough wood and kindling for one nights fire and then you can purchase any other wood and coal from the local shop in Sea Palling or local farm shop. Please take precautions with children as there isn't a fire guard around the hearth or stove. PARKING for 2 cars ONLY at any time and please consider our neighbours when entering and leaving the parking space. Do not park sideways in front of the gate. Please keep noise to a minimum on the terrace in the evening. Only guests booked into the chalet please as it’s a relatively small space. THERE IS NO CLEANING FEE so PLEASE leave everywhere as CLEAN and TIDY AS YOU FOUND IT also if you move anything could you put back where it was originally. If you use the wood burning stove or BBQ please leave clean for next guests and don’t tip ash onto bank behind as this is a Fire Hazard STRICTLY RECYCLE PLEASE READ THE PROPERTY MANUAL LISTED ON THIS SITE BEFORE YOUR STAY
Sea Palling is a friendly village community. It is a stunning location all year round with a beautiful beach. There is a seal colony at Horsey, opportunities for birdwatching and stunning skies day and night. A 10 minute walk into the village leads you to a well stocked shop and post office, beach bar with ‘pub’ food and amusement arcade and cafe that are OPEN ALL YEAR. In season it's possible to hire bikes, buy fresh fish and there is a fish and chip shop/cafe. There is a lovely cafe a couple of miles left along the beach at Cart Gap called Smallsticks and another if you turn right, in season, at Waxham Barns. The popular Nelson's Head Pub is a few miles away at Horsey, near the National Trust wind pump. The Lessingham Star, a couple of miles away in the opposite direction, has previously won Camra rural pub of the year. Stalham is a short drive, about 12 minutes and has a number of second hand shops plus a Tesco supermarket. There are a couple of well stocked farm shops within a mile or so of Sea Palling. There is a good old fashioned safe feel about Sea Palling. If you want to get in the car, North Norfolk is equally stunning and we're on the edge of the Norfolk Broads for boat trips.
  • Very enjoyable four nights in this cosy beach cottage tucked in behind the sand dunes. Thank you.

    Peter2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • The house is wonderful, so lovely nestled in the dunes, and directly next to a beautiful clean sheltered, white sand beach. Communication and check in was all easy and helpful. We didn’t meet, but Karen is a great host. Our first morning there we walked to the beach and we saw a rainbow and a seal, in the evening the stars are stunning! we were there in early January and the weather was nice, we played on the beach all day. Shops and food are a short walk away. great arrangement of space in the house for sleeping, cooking and relaxing by the fire. Fast wifi and nice garden. Horsey beach is a short drive to see the amazing wild seal colony with their babies. I was there with my parents and a two year old, we all loved it so much. This is what air bnb should be like, thank you to Karen for sharing your lovely place!

  • The Lodge is in a lovely location down a quiet lane and to get to the beach you go through the gate straight onto the steps that lead over the dune onto the beautiful beach There are loads of things to go to, experience and see nearby including the seal colony at Horsey The Lodge has a personality of its own, beautiful without being fussy. Karen has added lots of extra touches like hot water bottles, games, waterproof ponchos etc. The wood burner made it feel lovely and warm and cosy. Everything is clean well thought out and well maintained Karen kept in contact with us to ensure we had everything we needed. We loved everything about Sandy Lodge and I would have no hesitation to recommend this as a very nice place to stay

  • Our stay was very lovely. The room was even better than the pictures - it was cosy and comfortable and had all you needed. The local pub was excellent and only 1 minute’s walk. Hosts were lovely, helpful and flexible. Would recommend!

  • Charming private space. Very warm hosts. Great walks nearby. Great pub and excellent BEERS.

  • Irene and Richard’s house is a wonderful, peaceful spot in the heart of Norfolk. The village has a great pub and a community shop that stocks essentials and is open every day. My daughter was with me and we discovered a lovely park about two minutes drive away too. Irene welcomed us personally, and showed us round the Little Laundry. It has everything you need, and Irene had also added some lovely little touches that went over and above what we expected. Their house is just through the garden but it’s very private if you want it to be, or Irene and Richard are lovely to chat to if you need help or advice on the area. Thoroughly recommend this little house and will hopefully be back soon!

    Zoe2019-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • Had an amazing stay at ‘Little Laundry’! Irene was very welcoming and we felt at home from the moment we arrived! Comfy bed and loads of little ‘personal touches’. Great pub close by and lovely little village setting. Hope to visit again soon.

    Emma2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Irene provided a lovely welcome and introduction to the Little Laundry. Though in the garden of Irene and Richards house, the space is very private and there are 2 little garden areas. We really enjoyed sitting out in the sunny barbeque area in the morning having breakfast. The space is one room with a small kitchenette area, bed, chair and table and separate toilet and showet. It has a lot of character and Irene and Richard have really thought through the little things that might be needed in a home from home e.g. hot water bottles, candles, hand held fans. There were also some nice touches with fruit, cakes etc. that were provided as well as tea, coffee and milk. The pub, (a couple of minutes walk away), was great. We really enjoyed our overnight stay at the Little Laundry.

A pet friendly brick and flint cottage in the heart of Happisburgh on the Norfolk coast. The Gig House is perfect for summer breaks or winter escapes alike and is ideally located just 10 minutes from a glorious sandy beach.
The Gig House sleeps: 2 adults and a baby/toddler. We welcome pets - up to 2 large or medium dogs or 3 small dogs, 2 cats and any pet in a cage - and charge £25 per dog or cat per visit. We live across the courtyard and, hopefully, will be there to welcome you and to deal with any questions or requests at any time during your stay. It is located in one of Norfolk's most picturesque coastal villages. The village itself is now famous for the oldest evidence of human activity outside of Africa with footprints discovered on the beach to be over 900 thousand years old. The cosy local pub, within 50 yards of the cottage, echoes the local connection with Sherlock Holmes author Arthur Conan Doyle who visited many times and wrote one of the detective mysteries here. There is also a small shop and post office in the village. In fact the local villagers will proudly boast of the number of other illustratrious visitors who have been drawn to this unique place from Robinson Cruso author Daniel Defoe, cricketer W.C. Grace, sculptors Henry Moore and Barbara Hepworth, poet John Betjeman, writer PD James and even the Queen Mother once arriving by helocopter to visit a cousin who lived in the village. The village is a must for those who enjoy the English countryside and its beaches in all seasons. Parking is in the courtyard or on the very quiet lane outside the house. Bus stop 20 m from Albion Cottage but with an infrequent country service. Train station 7 miles away. All week long bookings start on a Saturday and short breaks start on a Monday or Friday, except at Christmas. We do not accept short breaks (less than a week) at peak times (school holidays). Out of season we can be more flexible with length of stay and start day. If you have a larger party this property can be booked in conjunction with Albion Cottage at a special rate (property also on Airbnb).

There is also a small shop and post office in the village In fact the local villagers will proudly boast of the number of other illustratrious visitors who have been drawn to this unique place from Robinson Cruso author Daniel Defoe, cricketer W.C. Grace, sculptors Henry Moore and Barbara Hepworth, poet John Betjeman, writer PD James and even the Queen Mother once arriving by helocopter to visit a cousin who lived in the village. The village is a must for those who enjoy the English countryside and its beaches in all seasons.
  • Beautifully designed cottage, very lovely touches including the delicious scones. Liz is super helpful and really knowledgable about the geology and archaeology of the area. A wonderful stay!

  • A lovely little retreat to stay in a lovely village in Norfolk. We loved the thoughtful touches which included fresh flowers and scones with cream and jam. A cozy place just right for two people and a dog. It was very well equipped, very clean and had homely touches. Located in a quiet village, a quick walk to the sea.

  • A great little cosy stay. The house is small but for two adults, a 6month year old and a big dog, we had plenty of room. Small kitchen with everything you need. Bedroom was warm and cosy and bathroom was really nice and very clean. Location was great. A five / ten minute walk to the beach and easy drives out to the main areas. Very quiet little village with local shops about a ten minute drive away

    Chris2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Cosy little spot. Walking distance to the beach & pub. Would love to return in the summer.

    Maggie2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Such a lovely home with thoughtful touches. Liz gave us some tips on the local area meaning we got to see seal cubs on the beach, experience great walks and enjoy good pub food. Would definitely recommend!

    Elaine2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely stay in this quiet, cosy location only a 10 minute walk from Happisburgh beach. A lovely base from which to explore the Norfolk countryside and to then retreat to at the end of the day. A lovely space with nice touches such as scones and clotted cream on arrival, fresh flowers and spare blankets. It was easy to find and somewhere we loved spending time. Would recommend it to anyone!

    Adam2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • The Gig House is a splendid place to spend a few days. Cosy, and with everything you could want for break from the everyday. It sits in the lee of the huge Happisburgh church tower and is close by to a very good pub with excellent food. The beach is a short walk away and there are any amount of footpaths. We saw great flocks of birds passing overhead at dusk and great skeins of wild geese coming in from the sea in the mornings. Lots to do in the general area, but a nice quiet traditional village to come back to! The Gig House is clean and attractively furnished, Liz, the owner was welcoming and eager to make our stay a success. We’d thoroughly recommend it as a base to explore the area or just as a bolt-hole from the pressures of the daily round.

The cabin has been hand built by a local boat builder out of timber. The compact interior is light and bright with a hand crafted feature window in the bathroom. The cabin is situated at my home within the garden. It is just a 2 minute walk down a footpath to the beautiful sandy blue flagged beach of Sea Palling. The location is the perfect base for walkers, cyclists, seal spotting, fishing and watersports. The Norfolk broads are close enough to cycle to and Norwich is just 30 mins drive.
The space has been loveingly crafted and furnished. The double bed has a 6 inch memory foam mattress. A kettle, toaster and fridge have been provided along with tea, coffee, milk and biscuits in your welcome pack. Eat out options are listed in the cabin info pack. The bathroom has an electric shower, heated towel rail and mains drainage WC. Outside- guests have a surf shower and area to enjoy the sun.
The cabin is just a 2 minute walk along a quiet footpath to the wonderful blue flagged beach of Sea Palling. The North Norfolk coastal path crosses the track at this point. The area has many excellent walking and cycling opportunities. Seal spotting and bird watching are also very popular. Water sports such as surfing, SUP and kitesurfing can be enjoyed in the ‘bays’. The Norfolk broads are a national park and are stunning throughout the year. These water ways are popular for boating, canoeing and kayaking.
  • The perfect cabin for a wonderful long weekend away! X My sister and I stayed here for a long weekend in March, the cabin has such a warm, spacious feel with all you need! We spent our time walking along the beach, swimming in the sea, taking in local sites and the nearby pubs, enjoying a cup of tea and reading a book by the fire and also just feeling the sun shining through the doors into the cabin! Rebecca, the host is so lovely and friendly and made us feel very relaxed and at home! We didn’t want to leave and will definitely be back! Xx highly recommended

  • Wanted a little private 3 day retreat to unplug / meditate / read etc. The cabin was perfect for this, short walk to the beach which was clean and refreshing. Lots of info on local area and very clean!

    Dan2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Rebecca's cabin is delightful, clean & compact with everything you need, due to clever use of space. Perfect for our stopover while walking the England Coast Path, close to the route & beach. Communication was excellent, as were directions & welcome. Entry was easy. We had a warm, cosy, comfortable & quiet night. The tea, coffee, milk, water & biscuits were much appreciated. Can thoroughly recommend.

Situated just outside Winterton-on-Sea in the hamlet of East Somerton next to picturesque ruins of St Mary's Church, Old Church Barn is a stunning barn conversion with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. With a footpath just outside the cottage, it's just a 10-15 minute walk from Winterton beach or a 2 minute drive. Old Church Barn has two bedrooms (one is downstairs with an ensuite) and an upstairs bedroom with a second bathroom. Downstairs there is a large living room with a smart TV and woodburner, and doors leading to the rear patio. The well equipped kitchen is a cook's delight and includes two ovens, an electric hob, a microwave, integrated fridge, freezer and a dishwasher. There's a dining area with seating for four people. The downstairs bedroom has a comfortable king size bed, TV and ensuite bathroom with a shower, wash basin and WC. Upstairs on the mezzanine level you'll find the second bedroom which has a standard double size bed. Please note the headroom in this bedroom is restricted. There's a second bathroom containing a bath with a shower over it, wash basin and WC. Opposite the second bedroom is a dressing room or chill out area with bean bags which also has restricted headroom. Outside there's an enclosed patio area to the rear, and the front garden is also enclosed with a small lawn (the garden has been fenced and enclosed since the pictures were taken). The outhouse contains a Belfast sink with hot/cold water as well as the washing machine. Old Church Barn has free wifi and off road parking for two cars. Up to two dogs are welcome at Old Church Barn by prior arrangement.
  • Great stay at the barn for the weekend, it's a beautiful place with lots of space and plenty to do in the area. The guest book provided loads of useful information on the best beaches to visit and we loved both the local and the seal beach. Lovely extra touches of fizz, biscuits and crisps on arrival too

    Jessica2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic stay - location was perfect, just a short walk from the beach. The recommended walks in the book were great! Will definitely be back to Winterton.

  • Loved loved loved this barn. We’ll most definitely be back. This place was perfect for dogs - lovely enclosed garden in front. And they even supplied a box of dog towels. The bars itself was immaculate and very stylish. And the local advice and tips were brilliant! Five stars from us.

    Andrew2019-11-22T00:00:00Z
  • A fantastic barn in a very beautiful spot, walking distance to a gorgeous beach. It was the perfect house to come back to after chilly walks. Couldn’t have asked for more, and have already recommended it!

  • A perfectly located and beautifully equipped house with a short walk to the beach. A dog walkers paradise! Hopefully we will be back again soon

    Dan2019-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • Our family of four, along with our small dachsie, had a fantastic five-day stay in this stylish holiday home, which exceeded our expectations in every respect. Perfect for lazy days indoors, offering all mod cons, beautiful decorative touches, attention to detail and thoughtful touches - down to the torch for late-night digestive walks after dinners prepared in the perfectly equipped kitchen. An ideal location to get away from it all! We enjoyed the lovely walk to the beach and to the nearest pub, along with plenty of excursions detailed in Rachel’s guest information booklet. We look forward to returning to this cosy and idyllic gem at some stage soon. One of our favourite Airbnb experiences in the UK!

    Kristina2019-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay at the barn. It's really nicely finished inside and out. Great to be able to take the dog and an easy walk down to the beach. Always nice to have a log burner too, even if it's not really needed. Overall we had a thoroughly enjoyable time.

Situated on Walnut farm, which is a quiet and friendly touring caravan park, nestled between the beautiful dog friendly sandy beaches of north norfolk and the broads. An ideal base for exploring the area, and for wildlife watching. We are a two minute drive from Horsey, where thousands of seals have their pups on the beach each winter, it’s an amazing sight
This modern static on Walnut farm has 2 bedrooms a bathroom, kitchen, dining area and spacious lounge. It is set in its own private garden, within our touring caravan park. The static is centrally heated, so comfortable all year round
Walnut Farm is a quiet touring park. We don’t have a noisy clubhouse, just peace and quiet. Situated on the Norfolk coast, and only a stones throw from the broads, there is plenty to do. The Seal colony 2 minutes down the road at Horsey is fascinating, and you can see them with their new pups up on the beach in the winter. There are 2 cafes and a selection of pubs locally. The night sky is a sight to behold, on a clear night, the low light pollution gives you an amazing view.
  • Clean place and great hospitality

  • The Caravan is in a superb spot, perfect for taking the dog for a few days away. Very own dog walk, as well as a secure area around the caravan. The inside is spacious and well laid out too. Helen was very accommodating.

Stone Cottage is a traditional cottage with a modern interior located right behind the sand dunes and beach. It has a sheltered, walled garden and a conservatory.
The bedroom is spacious with views over the walled garden and the sand dunes, and has a king sized bed. The room has a TV with DVD player, wardrobes and plenty of cupboard space.
Sea Palling's stunning sandy beach is popular all year round for nature lovers and dog walkers alike. The large colony of seals at Horsey is just four miles away but Sea Palling gets its fair share of seals too. Sea Palling is close to the Northern Norfolk Broads. There are wildlife tours at both Horsey and Hickling.
  • I really can't fault Jason's place and can recommend stone cottage without hesitation, its clean, warm, cosy and a real home with every thing you need and if you have dogs the garden is superb. The beach is two minutes walk away, turn right and walk to Horsey to observe the grey seals or turn left and walk to Eccles or Happisburgh or further. The local pub is just great, its like stepping back in time, the people are just so welcoming and friendly, it's just a beautiful part of untouched England.

  • This was a lovely well cared doe cottage with all that was needed to make our stay comfortable. If the weather had been bad it would have been a very comfortable place to be. The conservatory was lovely and there was so much space in the garden. The area is beautiful and the cottage is so close to the beach, beautiful beach walks. It was lovely to be able to entertain our friends, thank you very much Jason for being happy for us to do this. I will definitely recommend to friends and would book again if we stay in this area again.

  • Cosy and warm. All amenities as described with a thoughtful welcome hamper. The stars at night are a real treat.

  • What an amazing place at the kestrel, so cosy, quiet and perfect for walking the dog. I encountered my very first lighthouse on our Christmas day walk, which was on my bucket list of things to see/do (super excited about that). Loved looking out of the skylight at night whilst in bed just watching the stars. A perfect place to wine down and distress. Will definitely return. Also a big thank you to Marcel for the welcome pack of Christmas treats and even a little something for marlie our dog. Very much appreciated. What a perfect way to spend our Christmas away.

    Kiesha2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • Had a fantastic few nights at Kestrel holiday barn. The accommodation is clean, bright, warm and comfortable and is equipped with everything we needed. The enclosed garden is ideal for the dog. The whole place is great for anyone who wants a break at the Norfolk coast.

    Jenny2019-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • This was an absolutely gem! The host is extremely responsive and helpful and his suggestions of where to visit and things to do made our trip absolutely fantastic and better than we had hoped. Perfect not just for dogs but for our newborn daughter too. Would absolutely revisit

    Jess2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • A clean, roomy and warm accommodation with everything you should need for a perfect stay. On arrival already had milk in the fridge, plus tea/coffee/sugar, and a welcome basket for both humans (and canines if you're bringing them). It was very quiet all around so slept very well. A good size Tesco store is 4 miles up the road with the cheapest fuel in the area plus you can shop for your provisions very easily instead of bringing it all with you. On this occasion I didn't get to visit the beach and beyond for some walking due to all the rain but you are also within 40mins each way of plenty of places to visit including Great Yarmouth, Cromer, and several National Trust properties so things to do in all weathers. Would highly recommend a stay here. If there are more in your party there are other properties to hire within the same grounds so you can all be together in up to 4 different homes.

    Debby2019-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • What a lovely place! Very dog friendly with some extra unexpected touches. Comfortable stay and a great location for some brilliant walks. We had a very relaxing stay. Thank you Marcel!

  • Beautiful location situated a few minutes from a very quiet beach. The Kestrel was as described, very clean and thoughtful touches for children and dogs. The bed was very comfortable and we had a travel cot set up for our son, although we were also offered a single bed for him! The kitchen has all the utensils and dinner-ware you need for a stress free holiday.

    Philippa2019-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is secluded enough while close to the beach (by car) and very dog friendly. The patio is enclosed so dogs can play safely. It has a shared sauna that was surprisingly comfortable and well made. The cottage itself is light and modern, and while the bathroom is less modern it has a lot of accessibility aids which may help those with issues. Kitchen well equipped and a lot of nice touches like coffee, tea and milk and even a bottle of wine.

  • Pot Luck is amazing!! A little peace of heaven. Me and my family just got back from a weekend there. It is everything we hoped for and more. We felt like we were away from everything whilst there and although we only traveled from Norwich, my kids said they felt like they had a ‘holiday’ Pot Luck is beautifully styled and has everything you need for a fabulous stay. It is situated literally a two minute walk over the dunes to the beach and at night time we left the windows open to hear the sea - bliss!!! Amenities are great and it seemed everything has been considered. Beds are amazingly comfortable, the kitchen is well equipped and the veranda was a lovely sun trap to have an afternoon brew or glass of wine. Thank you so much for the stay Polly, we will be back!!!

  • Pot Luck is a stylish chalet filled with thoughtful extra touches to make your stay feel really luxurious. Newly built, Pot Luck is a good mix of brand new house with a lovely homely feel. Polly has gone to great lengths to make sure you have everything you could need or want here to make you comfortable, so you can relax and enjoy your break. We loved the outside space; the big Norfolk skies under cosy blankets or watching the kids playing on the lawn from the verandah. In the evenings, we loved getting cosy beside the wood burner on the comfy sofa. The location of this house is perfect. Just across the dunes is a beautiful, sandy beach which is where we spent most of our days. Or, you could walk 20 minutes to Sea Palling to find a chip shop, playground, pub and arcades. Something for everyone! My family and I can't wait to come back here in the warmer weather. I wouldn't hesitate to recomend Pot Luck to anyone looking for a comfortable, restful Norfolk break. Pot Luck is a little gem.

    Louise2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • I can’t think of a more perfect spot to hunker down, wind whipping over the dune behind this surprisingly spacious, elegantly appointed beach house. Polly has thought of absolutely everything, outfitting the kitchen so thoroughly that we weren’t even tempted to go out for food and just stayed in making lovely breakfasts and meals to have while the wood burner cast a cosy glow. It was even warm enough in the mornings to have coffee on the back patio, the dunes creating a wind-free sun trap. Polly is the consummate host, really lovely to deal with and it’s clear that she’s put so much thought into Pot Luck, whether its visitors are families with young children, couples looking for a getaway or a group of friends. The proximity to the beach makes Pot Luck even more special, and we were rewarded with glorious views in all directions and acres of smooth sandy coastline. Bird-watchers can see dozens of species that flock to this part of the North Sea coast, and there’s often a seal or two bobbing around not far from shore. The proximity to the beach was too tempting, though, and we were rewarded with glorious views in all directions and acres of smooth sandy coastline. Bird-watchers can see dozens of species that flock to this part of the North Sea coast, and there’s often a seal or two bobbing around not far from shore. Across the dunes and inland, flat, marshy Norfolk stretches for miles, with its beautiful skies occasionally pierced by a church tower or windmill. A few miles up the coast, the red-and-white striped Happisburgh lighthouse is worth a visit, especially on the Sundays when you can climb to the top.

  • As the 1st guests to stay at Linda's place we are pleased to report... it was lovely! Spotlessly clean, comfy bed, high pressure shower, beautiful touches such as a loaf of homemade bread, jams, milk and juice were all appreciated. A lovely quiet cottage. Plus our dog pips had a gated space out the front which was useful too. Linda and her husband were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Thank you for allowing us to stay 😊

  • Superb gem of a place. So many lovely touches like hot water bottles and board games. Kitchen very well supplied. Lovely pleasant space. Loved having a morning cuppa on the sunny decking. Would happily visit again.

  • This is a lovely little get away, amazingly close to the beach which is perfect for everyone and especially dog owners. The place is very well kitted out and stylishly decorated and the hosts were fantastic. We’d definitely recommend this place and we’ll likely come again too.

  • Chalet One is a beautiful holiday home in a great location, just a few minutes from the beach. Despite horrible weather we were warm and cosy inside and could barely hear the wind howling outside. The bed was really comfortable and everything was furnished well. Daphne and Sarah have gone to a lot of thought with the extra touches and you can see the love they have put into the chalet. The kitchen was well equipped with some really thoughtful snacks left for us and the dog! The beach at Bacton is lovely and long making it perfect for chucking a ball for the dog. The site itself was quiet and clean and I'm sure it's beautiful in the summer- you can see the sea from the chalet windows!

    El2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Super well thought out space great base for local area and access right to the beach for the family or a couple to enjoy, local cafe was dog friendly and they were super kind. Many thanks

    Sarah2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • My little dog and I stayed at Chalet One during the throes of Storm ‪Ciara‬, possibly the windiest day of the year! The chalet was warm and cosy, and we spent a lovely weekend walking, chilling and reading. Saturday was glorious and we were able to hike for miles on the beach which is just a few minutes walk from the chalet. It is wonderful - completely unspoiled. The chalet is compact and has a nice beachy feel without being overly ’themed’. There is unlimited Wifi and Daphne and Sarah have thought of just about everything to ensure a restful stay - including a really comfortable bed. I would definitely book again.

Situated in the heart of the Norfolk broads, surrounded by stunning farmland ,the detached pump house was part of the original mill complex. Set over two floors it has a sitting, dining kitchen area, with a shower room leading from it. Steep stairs lead to a twin bedroom, with two single 3ft beds and storage. Just one mile away is SeaPalling village with its glorious Blue flag beach,pub/restaurant, and post office shop. Unfortunately definitely not suitable for dogs.
We live in the mill house,so are not too far away if you need anything. Please note that phone signals & WiFi in this area can sometimes be unpredictable, but we have a landline available for emergencies.
Five mins drive from us there is a farm shop and a farm butchers. Within 20 mins drive there are several country pubs / restaurants. Lots of broads facilities ie boat hire , canoeing, fishing, birdwatching, beautiful beaches, country houses and parks. Seals with pups can be seen at Horsey beach which is 5 mins drive away , from Oct to feb.
  • A cozy little pumphouse that overlooks farmland and forest, only a few minutes to the coast where we saw the seals pupping. Derek was kind enough to provide some very thoughtful amenities. 10/10 would recommend/come back in a heartbeat.

  • A cute cottage nestled in the middle of norfolk countryside. The cottage had everything i needed, a welcome gift of bread, butter, milk and eggs was a special extra touch. Views from the porch were anazing, spotted a barn owl and a kingfisher. Farm shop close by for supplies and Sea Palling for miles of sand and so many seals. I loved it.

  • Just go for the quiet and amazing views from the property. For a small building everything worked really well, it was clean and functional with nice personal touches. The stairs are quite steep, but no problem once you get used to them. The hosts were on hand if you needed them. If you want peace and quiet, beautiful views, then this is the place

    Mia2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Derek was a fantastic and very helpful host and we had a wonderful stay at the Marsh Mill Pump house, such a beautiful and quiet place. The house has everything you need for a short to medium stay and lots of local recommendations were provided. All the Norfolk beaches and the Broads are only a short drive away, a fantastic location to explore Norfolk. We would definitely recommend staying here and hope to be back at some point.

  • The pump house is in a lovely peaceful rural setting. It was so relaxing looking out over the fields on the decked area. Compact but comfortable, characterful and clean We found it convenient for exploring this part of Norfolk - we had a lovely short break and would love to return when we get the chance.

  • My girlfriend and I loved our two-night stay in the Pump House. It was very clean, a charming size and Derek even left some eggs and bread for us for breakfast. The WiFi is good, the beds are comfortable and the little decking area is the perfect place to enjoy your morning coffee from. Or a glass of wine in the evening.

There is a local post office and general store as well as a fish and chip shop so you never need to go far for anything! Also Horsey is a lovely dune walk away where you can see the seals on the beach in their natural habitat. For those seeking more nightlife and amusements then Hemsby and Great Yarmouth are both a short drive away or for those seafarers amongst us the Norfolk Broads are also close by. Hope to see you soon at April cottage.

Set between the Broads National Park and the coast this is an ideal location for the beach, walking, cycling, boating and bird watching. A characterful, quirky cottage with beams and an inglenook fireplace dating back to the mid 18th century. Set in a conservation area, over looking a magnificent church and churchyard. Ideal for both summer and winter breaks.
The comfortable sitting room has a TV, with freeview and Netflix. Alternatively there are a selection of board games. The large inglenook fireplace, with wood burner, is the focal point of the house. There is a dining area for 4. There is WiFi. The kitchen has everything you will need for your stay including a washing machine. The downstairs bathroom has a heated towel rail and power shower. Upstairs there are two good size bedrooms. Both have double beds, one king size and one queen with goose down duvets. There is plenty of storage space. Both rooms have heaters. Bedroom 2 leads into bedroom 1. Linen and towels are provided. The sunny, decked garden has an eating area, BBQ, seating and shade. To the rear there is off road parking for one car. There is plenty of on road parking. Pets are welcome. Dog secure garden. This is a very dog friendly area. They are welcome in most pubs, some restaurants and on many beaches.
Martham is a friendly, busy village with a good range of amenities. There is a fish & chip shop, a Co-Op, pharmacy and two pubs. There is also an excellent traditional village butcher, selling local produce and homemade pies. The cottage works perfectly as a location both summer and winter. Martham and Hickling Broads and Winterton Dunes are both areas of outstanding scientific interest. Norwich is a short drive away. Ship's Timbers is a one bedroom thatched cottage full of character with a lovely secluded garden - perfect for a couple. It's a short five minute stroll to the beach, and the cottage is perfectly located in the centre of Winterton-on-Sea, walking distance from the local Fisherman's Return pub, fish & chip shop and post office/village store. The living room has a comfortable sofa and armchair, a dining table for two and TV/DVD player. The kitchen leads off the lounge and has a cooker, microwave and fridge/freezer. The downstairs bathroom is through the kitchen and includes a bath, washbasin, WC and a shower over the bath. A traditional Norfolk Winder steep staircase leads up from the lounge to the light and airy bedroom with a stunning king size four poster bed. Please note that as the stairs are very steep the cottage is unsuitable for the elderly or infirm. Guests are advised to use the handrails for safety. Behind the cottage is a fabulous private garden with a patio area and outdoor seating for two. The garden is fully enclosed and two dogs are welcome at Ship's Timbers by prior arrangement. There is off road parking for one car.
  • Great location. Minutes from the beach, cafe, pub and shop. Great little cottage with a lovely garden to relax in. Perfect!

    Jill2019-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful quaint cottage with the most comfortable bed ever, strong wifi and lovely private garden! Less than 5 min walk from the sandy, dog friendly beach with dunes, grassland just opposite for easy walking. Fantastic pub is a 2 min stumble away and chip shop and local shops are friendly and good value. Take note of the advice that the cottage stairs are steep as they really are but it wouldn't stop me going back again. Brilliant that I could leave my dog in the cottage if needed, but the whole area is super dog friendly so you probably won't need to. I will definitely visit again. Thank you!

Part of a barn and stable complex, a picturesque converted brick and tile self contained annexe with en-suite, lobby with kitchenette and direct access to pretty shared courtyard garden with exotic plants and water feature. Location is unrivalled, set in the heart of the Broads National Park, two minute walk from Womack Water and river and five minutes to Ludham village pub and shop. Scenic river and marsh walks, nature trails, swimming pool, cycleways, beach and boat hire are all close by.
Accessed from the courtyard garden and comprises a kitchenette with fridge, sink, microwave, toaster, portable hob, tea and coffee making facilities. The bedroom and living space has double bed, chairs, breakfast table, storage and book shelf. The en-suite has it's own bath and shower, together with towels and toiletries. Under floor heating provides cosy warmth for early and late season visitors. You can be assured after each stay the annexe is thoroughly clinically cleansed throughout with medically approved cleaner and in this difficult time any wish to remain isolated will be respected.
This unique location is close to Womack Water and river and the pretty village of Ludham with thatched cottages, church, pub with restaurant, village store, butchers and tea room. Other attractions close by and within easy walking/cycling distance include historic St Bennets Abbey, How Hill Gardens and Nature Trail and only a short car journey away Wroxham Barns Craft Centre and the beautiful sandy beaches of the Norfolk coast. Horsey Gap is a real treat and probably the best place in Norfolk, particularly late October through to February, when the adult seals and seal pups can be seen in abundance. If you have the time these and many more are all well worth a visit.

The master bedroom at the front of the cottage has a comfortable kingsize bed, and the second bedroom has twin 2'6" single beds which can be converted to a kingsize double bed on request. • This place is just perfect, I honestly cannot fault it. Immaculately clean with everything you could possibly need. Big comfy sofas with cosy blankets to snuggle up on at night in front of the log burner. Extremely comfortable beds. Amazing shower! A treat to come home to after a day of walking on the beach, which is just beautiful, and when we went had the added bonus of seals everywhere! Like being in a nature documentary every day. Beach cafe is great too! Thank you!

    Tori2020-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great cottage, ideal location super close to the beach and perfect for dogs. We had a fab time- the cottage is beautiful and is fully equipped. Would highly recommend!

  • Rachel is extremely responsive to all messages. The cottage is lovely, everything was spotlessly clean and tidy and there were lots of little extras (milk, bread, apple juice, a very nice pie). We loved the shower and the beds were very comfortable too. It's in a great position, within walking distance to the Dunes and also the sea. Although we didn't take our dogs it's perfect for dog walkers. We would all recommend Rachel's lovely cottage with no hesitation. x

  • Very clean and comfortable accommodation. This terraced cottage is a bit of a tardis- surprisingly spacious. The box of goodies was a nice touch. The location is excellent- very convenient for the Broads and Norwich. The most outstanding aspect is the superb, vast and sandy beach which is literally a 2 minute stroll from the front door.

    Suffolk2019-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • The delightful Beachcomber nestles perfectly into the picturesque surroundings of Winterton-on-Sea. The property delivers everything for a perfectly relaxing holiday. A box full full of goodies warmly welcomed us on arrival and we found lots of helpful info to hand to help ease us into our holiday. The accommodation is spotlessly clean and the garden is an idyllic place to enjoy. A short gentle stroll to the village shops, chippy, tea-rooms, pub and beach mean there is no need to leave the village until you really must! A gem of a holiday home.

    Deborah2019-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at the cottage. Perfect place to walk to the beach quickly, grab fish and chips and get a drink at the local pub! The cottage has a great garden and feels really big! The kitchen diner is a great space to spend an evening in!

  • Great house in a great location in a lovely village. House has a fantastic kitchen and bedrooms/bathrooms very clean and comfy. We really enjoyed visiting the beach and exploring the area. Great that there is a small shop so very nearby for all the essentials.

  • What a gem to have found this place, it was better than I had anticipated, it was such a close walk to get out onto the dunes for some off lead adventures for the dogs and everything we needed to return back to a cosy home from home, lit the fire and settled down for the evening. It was beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean, and super comfy beds making us feel so welcome. The Fisherman’s Return is a wonderful pub down the road which offers just the warming food that you need after exploring the beaches with the blustery winter weather. Idyllic winter get away

Liz made our dog Ernie feel very welcome and there were lots of great beaches and walks nearby, as well as excellent pubs. Happisburgh itself is lovely too - very quiet and peaceful. We hope to return!

  • This is a stunning cottage in a gorgeous village. The decor is beautiful and everything was so comfortable. We would certainly come again.

  • lovely house. great spot. excellent hosts

    Andrew2020-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • Exactly as it looks in the pictures, but hard to see the attention to detail. From the Morris wallpapers to the wick trimmers and chestnut roasting pan the house is true to its' roots. The fires were easy to light; cosy and snug, just what you need after a bracing walk along the sands. ..... UK winter breaks don't come much better than this and Liz's tips were spot on..... go on.....book it!

The Water Cabin is a recently renovated 1930’s cedar-clad cabin located on the bank of the River Thurne, in the heart of the Broads National Park. It is the ideal retreat for a romantic getaway or family holiday at any time of the year.
The Water Cabin has two bedrooms (sleeps four) and open plan living room, kitchen and dining room. The bathroom has a large walk-in shower and bath. Outside, there is a large decked area, a generous sized garden and an adjacent boat dyke with river frontage and moorings. The cabin has river views to the front and countryside views to the rear.
The Water Cabin is situated in a friendly community of riverside properties on the bank of the River Thurne in Repps with Bastwick. Neighbours will be a mix of residents and fellow holidaymakers. The Broads National Park is made up of manmade rivers that are medieval and home to quarter of UK’s rarest wildlife. There are more than 200km of navigable lock free rivers and open water. In the Broads you will see the swallowtail butterfly, the Norfolk hawker dragonfly, the marsh harrier, the bittern and the crane. One of the best places to visit to spot all five is Hickling Nature Reserve. The Broads National Park is home to a quarter of the UK’s rarest wildlife. There is nowhere else in Britain where you go for a walk and see a swallowtail butterfly sunning itself upon a flag iris. Nowhere else, where on the same footpath, you’ll see a flock of cranes cross the sky like oriental wallpaper. By the time you’ve put down your binoculars you’ll have already noticed the hares boxing in the meadow beyond and the Chinese water deer breaking cover from the willow trees. The air is filled with the hum of dragonflies, some as large as your fist. Was that the sound of a cuckoo? The water is flat and clear as a mirror and upon it a grebe glides as though in state, before disappearing beneath the water’s surface. Beneath the shade of the sails of a heritage mill seems the perfect place to stop, to listen to the song of the swifts and the sway of the reeds. Because the Broads National Park is home to a quarter of the UK’s rarest wildlife and there is nowhere else in the country where you can see all of these creatures in one place, except here.
  • A place to contemplate, relax and be inspired. Great waterfront location, I'd be happy to spend the whole time indoors....beautiful details and styling a must see/stay.

  • The water cabin is absolutely beautiful- a fantastic place to relax and watch the world go by. Fiona was an excellent host.

  • The cabin is as amazing as it looks in the photos. We had a great time and enjoyed every minute spent in the cabin. Would recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing time in a amazing space. Fiona and Bobby were lovely and really thoughtful.

  • Great hosts who were professional and responsive. The welcome pack was extremely generous and very much appreciated. The cabin is stylish, clean and well thought out. The skylights and vaulted ceiling in the lounge create a bright and spacious property. The location is peaceful and it doesn’t take long to find yourself settling into the pace of life on the river. We left well rested and refreshed. My father uses a wheelchair and my mother walks with two sticks. Mum had no issues accessing the property and Dad was able to gain access over the front step with the help of an able bodied companion and once inside was able to access all areas, including the outside decking. We hope to return in the future.

    Paul2019-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • Really great place to get away from it all and relax.

    Michael2019-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our week at the cabin, was beautiful & peaceful. Such a stylish space and lovely to have the deck and garden right on the water. The kitchen is well stocked with all the things you need to prepare a proper meal which we really appreciated - we have a toddler so all our evening meals were at home. We had lovely weather during our stay but would have been fine even if not as it's such a lovely space to relax in. Loved the books dotted around as well - a really nice touch. And when it was too chilly to sit out on the deck in the evening we watched the sky changing colour and the birds passing through the windows from the comfy sofa. We didn't miss internet / tv at all, was lovely to have a proper break.

  • The Hay Barn at Winterton is a great place to have a peaceful and quiet holiday. The accommodation is warm and cosy, very well equipped with everything to make your stay stress free. The underfloor heating and wood burner fire are a bonus to add to that feel. We stayed over New Year, and Hay Barn is ideally located to explore all that the area has to offer. The short walk to the village and beach is an added bonus. Particularly loved the local biscuits, jam, and eggs as a welcome on arrival. The Hounds also loved the locally sourced Dog treats included in the welcome. We also really enjoyed making friends with the Hens in the yard. Thank you Emma & Neil for a great stay at Hay Barn.
