Places to stay in Walkerton
This cozy, lived-in, old-style farmhouse in the small town of Walkerton is located on a quiet street surrounded by friendly neighbours. It's walking distance to the local Catholic high school, Tim Hortons, the Fire Hall, the downtown, and the beautiful Saugeen River Trail. 40 minutes from Bruce Power.
My partner, my dog Rufus, and I live on the main floor. We will share the parking and laundry facilities, also located on the main floor.
There are many vegetarian/vegan friendly cafes and restaurants in downtown Walkerton (about a 5-minute walk away), as well as a beautiful walking trail with a launch for kayaks and canoes. There are many local shops, a pub, and several eateries all within walking distance and/or a short drive away.

*Now CLOSED till spring, thanks!* The bunkie has a great view of the rising sun with farm fields in the distance. You can listen to the crickets all night by the camp fire. It's a quiet rural area (please note it is a GRAVEL road), good for couples, solo adventurers, hunters, someone looking to be outside of town. The bunkie is located approx. 30 feet behind our home. We have 2 large dogs on site (live in the house). For allergenic reasons and safety of other animals, we do not allow pets.
Very quite road, at night it's nice to sit by the camp fire and listen to the crickets and look at the stars. Neustadt is 10 minutes away and boasts a collection of small antique shops, craft shops and a general store that has all the necessities. There is even a micro brewery that has a tasting room. Hanover is 15 minutes away and has lots of stores and dining options. Durham and Mount Forest are 15 minutes away which also have lots of shops to visit as well. Owen Sound is ~60 min away with a huge selection of dining and entertainment options. There is a 350 acre managed forest that hiking and hunting is allowed in on the next concession over (5 min drive) there are many other managed forests nearby that allow hiking and hunting as well.

Come out to the country and stay in this bright, spacious, clean, charming, completely private 2 bedroom country suite within a house set on Ontario farmland. Walk the fields of Grey County, visit shops in small surrounding towns, tour farmer's markets, come for a festival, to visit the beaches of Lake Huron or Georgian Bay, day-trip to Blue Mountain Village or the Grotto in the Bruce Penisula, or just stay at the farm and get in some peace and relaxation in.
The house on the farm has two levels. Both levels are the full size of the house at 1500 square feet of bright, open-concept space. The Suite is completely separated, with your own access and complete privacy. The Superhosts utilize the other suite from time to time. The Airbnb suite is a large, bright, open-concept space, with lots of windows with direct access to a balcony that wraps around from the kitchen to the deck and back yard, the hot tub and firepit. Very comfortable, to make you feel right at home, with lots of amenities. Very clean, cozy, uncomplicated, modern, the option to bbq, cook or just reheat your meal, a special getaway suite in the country close to Durham, Hanover, Mount Forest and surrounding Grey Bruce areas. We offer nightly, weekly, and monthly guests the opportunity to visit Ontario farmland, visit with the farm animals and relax in the fresh air the country brings. Relax by the fireplace, watch a movie, read a book, go for long country walks. Soak in the tub or the outdoor Hot tub before retiring to your comfy king and queen beds. Don’t forget to take the carrots that are left in the fridge for you to go say 'Hi' to the horses with! If you do not see the dates you need during the summer months we also have a 30ft RV, travel trailer set up on the property that is listed under my profile as well. Set in a private setting by the pond, with deck and fire pit, glamping in the country with all of the conveniences and amenities required to have a cottage getaway on the farm as well!
Convenience is only 2 km away in Durham, Ontario. The beautiful Saugeen river runs through it. Gas stations, liquor store, beer store, grocery store, convenience stores, restaurants, churches, etc. Other things to note of the area; A Friday market runs all summer 1/2 block west on 10th street in the Civic Park in Hanover. Every Tuesday venture up to the Keady market. Lots of local restaurants in the area. There is a Paramount drive-in theatre open Tues, Fri, Sat, and Sunday the end of May until Labour Day weekend just 15 minutes away.
  • Enjoyed our time here! Listing is exactly as pictured - quiet and clean space. And fun to meet the horses!

    Denise2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • Truly a five star home! Hot tub was nice to soak in daily. The robes and crocks to wear were added touches! Highly recommended!

    Ray2020-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • Just a wonderful time. The space is great and modern but nicely secluded within nature. They have some very friendly horses so it was an nice escape away from city life. Catherine and Thomas couldn’t’ be more welcoming and caring on our arrival. Checking in on us and ensuring our stay was up to standard - which it was. Defiantly a top AirBNB experience and hosts.

    Jordan2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Catherine’s place is a perfect quiet getaway. It is big and bright with very comfortable beds and lots of nice touches for the guests! I highly recommend!

    Blythe2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Catherine and Thomas’ place was wonderful! The suite is quite spacious and very clean with tons of natural light. The large property is absolutely stunning and perfect for a get away from the city hustle and bustle. The hot tub was a great place to relax & unwind! The horses and pony were very friendly and love to see us come visit them with carrots in hand! Overall the experience was great & I would definitely recommend Catherine & Thomas’ place!

    Brette2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • I can’t leave a review for the very place as unfortunately I had to cancel my stay due to weather conditions, but I can witness Catherine has demonstrated a fantastic customer support by warning me in advance and being helpful in the cancelation. I trust she is an excellent host, caring for the best of her visitors.

    Sylvain2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Myself, my girlfriend, our daughter and a couple of classmates booked a 3 day 2 night stay but unfortunately due to weather were only able to stay the one night, but that one night we were there went above and beyond expectations! Catharine and Thomas were in the unit below which was nice if we needed anything. The place was beautiful, there were notes posted all around the place with directions for what to do and not to do,very clear. They had breakfast in the fridge for the mornings along with milk and cream for the coffee and tea, and also carrots to feed the horses! They also had some pamphlets for some restaurants around the area, a computer to use and of course wifi. The hot tub was just the cherry in top. Over all for the time we were there it was a great experience. Thank you catharine and Thomas for your great hospitality!

    Aaron2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • This place was beyond what we expected. The host was super helpful and was very easy to communicate. The horses and the hot tub was def a cherry on top. We had an awesome stay and would recommend my friends and family for sure. Cat so sorry about the mess we made and fully taking responsibility of that! I should of been more careful. Thank you

The Chepstow Mill is a century and a half old Grist mill on a private 8 acre pond with a one-bedroom miller's cottage. Enjoy the incredible mill space filled with hammocks, ping pong table, darts and more - take a nap over the rushing water running under the mill, or relax on the incredible 800 sqft deck off the miller's cottage over-looking your pond: a row boat is included!
When you book a stay at the historic Chepstow mill and cottage you have full access to the cottage, the mill, and the pond. The one bedroom cottage is a four-season dream over-looking the pond. Full modern kitchen (and outdoor bbq), modern three piece bathroom, sunny bedroom and casual living space, all in my signature style that mixes vintage and modern to create a comfortable, familiar retreat. A few steps away, and connected by a deck and walkway over the water is the Chepstow mill, built in 1867. Inside the mill you’ll find spaces to relax, dine, play and sleep if you have extra guests. There is no plumbing or heating/cooling in the mill, and so, sleeping arrangements are flexible: There is a 3” foam queen mattress that can be brought to the cottage’s living room floor if you’d all rather camp out in the cottage, as well as a blow up mattress. On the flip side, the comfortable vintage bamboo sectional is a great space to get some shut-eye if everyone wants the experience the mill! Additionally, the cottage has a concrete pad and 220v power for an RV. There’s a row boat for exploring the pond which is alive with activity (get a close-up on it all with the binoculars provided). A snapping turtle, a large blue heron, and several families of geese call it home. You can fish and paddle in the summer, and skate on it in the winter. The pond is environmentally protected, and changes with the seasons. It will fill with wild grasses by late summer and you’ll be entertained by an incredible chorus of bullfrogs. On the deck you’ll find Muskoka chairs, a bar-height dining table to enhance the view over the railing, as well as a couple of loungers and an umbrella. There’s also a huge bbq, and a kiddie pool that makes an excellent place to dunk your feet with a drink in hand! There are also a couple of chairs on the porch of the mill which take you back in time.
Chepstow is a tiny community in Ontario, and the mill is at the core of its history. The mill and cottage sit just off the main road in town, neighbouring the beautiful Chepstow Inn and further up the road, the church. There are several unique towns within 25mins or less of the mill - In Paisley you can rent kayaks or canoes and explore the Saugeen River (the mill pond connects!). Walkerton has incredible trails; the coastal towns of Lake Huron like port Elgin and kincardine offer unparalleled beaches and dining. Mildmay has a fantastic pool, and every town has an antique store worth pillaging!
  • This space is absolutely lovely and I would jump at the chance to return. The cottage is wonderfully decorated and spotless. The view across the pond and the gift of the morning sun is an amazing way to start each day. The decks and mill space would be a treat to use in the warmer months. Even in February you can hear the water. I wish it had been warm enough to enjoy it during my stay. I highly recommend!

    Holly2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely time. The photos of the mill don’t do it justice. So pretty!

    Jessica2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • Jenn's cottage is lovely and is a great place for a getaway! We had a great time and would definitely visit again in the future.

    Valerie2019-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • Such a nice place that it makes it hard for the pictures to show it all. Jenn was great to work with.

    Avid2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • This little cottage is super cozy and is decorated quite well. You have great views of the pond from the cottage and from the amazing wrap-a-round deck. The mill building is quite truly an amazing place, showcasing the building, the signs (inside & out) and the old equipment! The parking is also quite nice, lots of room and even a poured pad at the one end. The close proximity to the road was no issue for us but may be for a light sleeper (ATV's and other vehicles driving by at all hours). I would definitely recommend both Jenn & her cottage! I will definitely be going back :)

You can see our home on the property as you drive up the driveway. There are no other visible neighbours … only deer, cows and squirrels :) The treehouse and cabin are nestled in a small forest, overlooking the fields and pond. We also have a vintage restored airstream and it is located on the pond. The pool, our home and barn are also visible from the treehouse, and yet both areas remain private. Want to walk the 100 acres? Let us know and we will share the marked trails and route for you to enjoy! It's beautiful !
  • A DREAM COME TRUE! We were welcomed by Lynne and friendly staff on a long gravel road to begin our stay. We loved the picturesque field of grass, cedar and pine trees that lay foreground as we opened the windows of the treehouse in the morning. Great weather allowed us to spend an entire day lounging poolside, enjoy meals outdoors and manage a walk around the vast property. There's so much attention to detail in both residences, from repurposing old ladders to using twigs and branches as hooks and curtain rods. Overall this place is a gem that needs to be seen to be appreciated!

  • This Treehouse and Cabin is absolutely stunning! I did my due diligence and read up on the listing - some friends would say that I stalked the place prior to booking (those people would be right lol). Yet, none of that prepared me for this gem. Unreal property! This is such a unique find and was perfect for us girls to get away for a few nights and unwind. I’ve had so many friends and family reach out who also want to book this now. We had a party of 6 and felt well taken care of. The host was quick to address any questions or concerns. Lynne left us gals gift bags which was such a kind and thoughtful gesture. The space was perfect for us girls - there was lots of room to have our own space. The cabin doesn’t get as much attention but the upstairs room in there was gorgeous. Every details was well thought out and we spent major overtime in the pool. Go ahead and just book it - you’ll join the long line of fans. We will be back!

  • This little slice of heaven is by far the most amazing place that we have ever stayed! Nothing even come close to comparing to this. From the moment we pulled in the laneway and met Lynn, until the time we left, we felt like family. Lynn’s attention to detail goes beyond any of our expectations. The treehouse, cabin, pool, bathrooms, and everything in between were absolutely stunning. Small touches such as fresh flowers in vases throughout, some beverages to enjoy, and a small gift were extremely thoughtful and so kind. Our getaway there was timeless. It is an amazing place to be able to reconnect without the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Lynn’s husband Mike was around a bit and was also super welcoming and extremely nice. Neither of them were intrusive and were extremely considerate of our space and time alone on their property, yet only a text away if we needed anything. We are forever grateful for our experience at the Treehouse. We are now going to make it an annual trip. We made memories to last a lifetime and our hearts were full when we left!! Stop thinking about it and just book your time there. Dates fill up fast and there is no question as to why. You will not regret it!! One last note... make sure you take a second to go down the slide!! We all have a kid left in us and this is a great way to reconnect with that :D

  • Amazing retreat! Much better than the photos. A must come vacation place. All of us really enjoyed the time here. Strongly recommended.

  • Nothing truly matches up to this hidden gem. The attention to detail is everywhere. For three days I kept noticing more and more little design features and amenities all over the property. It is very obvious that there is a lot of love, care and time going into this property to make sure guests are blown away when they arrive and it continues as you wake up each morning. The customer care is so personal. I truly felt like our happiness mattered and the staff and family would do anything to help (and they did when we reached out). I loved the fact that we were living in the great outdoors but still experiencing all of the luxuries a luxury hotel. Simply a beautiful place to unwind and relax.

  • Lynne and Michael have created and shared a space that one could only dream of visiting. Everything is pristine, Lynne has thoughtful touches everywhere and you truly feel like you are in a far away place. The vibe is positive and the atmosphere is so relaxed, my girlfriends and I had such a wonderful time and I am so grateful to have had the experience. Thank you for sharing your piece of heaven with us!!! This magical place is one to not be missed!!!

  • Where do I begin? I honestly don't know if I can summarize the experience I had here in a few short paragraphs ... but I will try. Let's start with before we got there. From the moment I booked, Lynne was sending me info and answering all of my ridiculous and frantic questions. I booked for a bachelorette weekend and she made sure that all the ladies and I were taken care of. It can be difficult to coordinate so many people and their varying personalities, but she was completely supportive and relaxed about everything. Lynne is positive, cheerful and exudes a calm, welcoming energy. She is clearly passionate about what she does and extremely professional. We couldn't have asked for a better host! When we got there, the space blew me away. Pictures DO NOT DO THIS PLACE JUSTICE! It was a total escape from the stresses of city life. The treehouse, cabin and outdoor spaces were all sooo beautifully designed! As a lover of design, I was in HEAVEN! It's worth it just to experience the shower there. Also, I have never been so excited to use an outhouse. (There is a running toilet, but trust me...you will want to use the outhouse. It is PIMPED OUT!) It's obvious how much love and care Lynne has put into all the details. It was like living in a dream for 2 days...and I didn't want to wake up! The price seemed high to some people at first, but in reality it's really not. When we got there we quickly realized what goes into making the spaces so spectacular. The price is more than fair and 100% worth it! I am SOOO grateful I got to experience this place. I would go back in a heart beat! THANK YOU SO MUCH, LYNNE!!!! <3

    Ki2019-05-26T00:00:00Z
  • Stop reading reviews and book the Treehouse now. Seriously. Stop wasting time. Book it or someone else will. The Retreat is unbelievably relaxing, instant responses from Lynne and her team with any questions and concerns you may have, it’s clean, it’s quiet, it’s designed and decorated beautifully, etc etc etc. I don’t have a single complaint about our experience. Thanks again Lynne!

This spacious, 30-foot ‘couple’s’ trailer is parked on our country farm property, all set and ready to enjoy! Come visit Grey County from June to October with lots to see and do! The idea here is to come for a couple of nights, during the week or weekend, to get away from your busy life, relax as one with nature, and in comfort, in Jayco RV style! Enjoy sunsets, staring at the stars, while you sit by the campfire (wood provided). Book your summer 2020 stay now before the dates book up!
This very comfortable Jayco Whitehawk 30 foot trailer is set up in the country amongst nature. You get the camping feel with being in nature, sitting around the campfire, but having the "glamping" feel which includes running hot and cold water, electricity, A/C, a night to watch the satellite TV if you want. Wifi is available, just steps closer to the house on the property if you need to be "on" but the idea is to "switch off" for 1, 2 or 3 days (max because of the holding tank limit), enjoy the country charm of walks along the pioneer laneway, to pet the horses, to watch some other farm animals, or just sit and listen to the birds and watch the sunset and enjoy the fire. Minutes from town with all that you require to enjoy your stay. Only 2 min from the town of Durham, 15 min from Hanover or Mount Forest. The Saugeen River is close by, with lots of provincial park space for swimming and hiking, you are 45 min from a beach on Lake Huron (Sauble, Kincardine, Port Elgin beach) or Georgian Bay (Wasaga beach), or a ski-hill village to walk in the Blue Mountains or the caves there. For international visitors, the Toronto International airport is 1.5 hours drive, you are 2 hours from downtown Toronto. The Grotto of the Bruce Peninsula is 2 hours north from here.
West Grey is a piece of Ontario that must be discovered. The Bruce trails are close, the Saugeen river for canoeing, and many swimming holes or beaches, and fishing spots. The small towns that surround the area all have little spots to offer in the way of food and drink and antiquing or shopping.
  • Awesome experience! Couldnt have asked for a better ! They were extremely kind and supportive.

    Peter2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Catherine's place is a gem in the countryside! Check-in was easy, Catherine greeted us, introduced the entire farm to us, showed us around the place, helped us with more fire woods. She made sure we have enough fire woods to burn at night, enough blankets for sleeping, and she even prepared bath ropes for us to enjoy the hottubs and many towels! Thanks Catherine, you are very attention to detail! The RV is very new, Catherine mentioned she didn't even get much chances to use it yet. The space is sparkling clean, and spacious for three people. The kitchen has everything you would need to. And the fridge has all kinds of sauces and breakfast that Catherine prepared for us. The farm is beautiful!! There are bulls, cats, horses on the farm. There is a little private trail that leads us the beautiful field with round hay bales. The field is so beautiful during sunset, you have to see it in person. Forgot to mention the century old barn, the RV is right beside it which made our stay felt very unique. At night we set the fire and watched stars. We had so much fun during our stay! Overall the experience is way way better than I had imagined. Beautiful people, beautiful farm. If you are looking for a unique and comfortable countryside experience, this is the place to stay at! You will love it!

  • Catherine and Thomas are kind, very hospitable and engaging. I had a wonderful time at the farm. It was a dream to listen to the birds everyday, spend time with the horses and be in nature. I highly recommend booking here. I can't wait to return. If I could give 10 stars I would!!!

  • Great experience ! Catherine is super a super nice host

    Sika-Rose2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Catherine & Thomas were fantastic. I was very excited about the idea of spending a night or two in an RV and it was just as great as i thought it’d be. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants to come out of their comfort zones and enjoy nature with beautiful view, cows, horses and hottub. Hope to come back here soon!

    Paul2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • One of the best Airbnb experience we've ever had. Catherine and Thomas are really nice and responsive to all our questions and requests. The amenities are also much better than we expected from an RV. Basically it got everything we need for a small family. They even provided breakfast and variety of sources in the fridge. The best part is the surprisingly pleasant "farm" life there. We watched the cows roaming around, fed the horses they kept, walked the private trail with our little dog and saw the endless wheat field. In the evening we also enjoyed the fire pit where everything is well prepared. Should definitely try their fancy hot tub next time.

    Jerry2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • Catherine was such a good host and went above and beyond for us and our stay. We were greeted with a fire and a tour of the property. They supplied us with a stocked fridge full of breakfast food for the morning, and the RV was spotless and looked brand new. The hot tub is amazing and in the morning we got to pay a visit to three of her horses which were gorgeous! I couldn’t be happier with our stay, and I highly reccomend it to anyone considering.

    Evan2019-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing vacation in Catherine's RV. Her and her boyfriend were very welcoming and one of the most thoughtful and wonderful hosts I've ever met! They gave us not only privacy, but also everything we need. It was our first time staying in an RV and we wanted to relax and spend time in a quiet place, so it was perfect! We had a BBQ, made a fire in the fire pit while watching the stars and fireflies at night(there was soo many stars). We fed the horses, had beautiful nature walks, and enjoyed a very relaxing luxurious hot tub. I would love to come back as soon as I can! Definitely recommended.

This is the perfect get away place for all creative people: artists, writers, poets... In the heart of the farm land, 12 miles east of Kincardine, stands Gino Cavicchioli's studio, the old Kinloss United Church, circa 1874. Open concept with a loft, sleeps max 4, min 6 nights stay from April to Dec. Min 1 month stay from Jan to the end of March.
This studio / house was the old Kinloss United Church. We carefully preserved the country church look on the outside during the renovation, while the interior was transformed into a sculptor studio with high vaulted ceiling and a comfortable sleeping quarter on the loft. There is one double bed on the loft, one couch opens up to a double bed on the main floor. Sleeps max. 4 (2 couples). The studio was uniquely decorated with the owner, artist Gino Cavicchioli's sculpture works, including a 10' x 6' casting of the relief of philanthropists Mr & Mrs Juravinski. For the music lovers, we have an upright piano waiting for your creative touch. Gino Cavicchioli is a Renaissance man. His works are in the collections of some of the most powerful figures of his generation such as George Bush, Margaret Thatcher and Mikhail Gorbachev.
Gino's Sculptor Studio is located in the heart of the farm land, 12 miles east of Kincardine Ontario and the shore of mighty Lake Huron. Black horse golf and country resort is only 2 minutes drive down the street. There are two resorts with inland lakes nearby. Daily pass and boat rental are available for purchase throughout the operating season (Silver Lake & Fisherman's Cove).
  • Amazing place, we really enjoyed our stay, big hug to Jing & Gino, thank you!

  • Jing and Gino’s place was amazing. Beautiful natural light streaming into a huge space. We rented to write music away from the demands of city life and it worked perfectly. Inspiring!

  • My name is on this review page a bunch of times for a good reason - this place rules and we keep coming back. It’s fantastic place for a creative retreat and I can’t recommend it highly enough!!!

  • I have written a lot of reviews of this place and my opinion hasn't wavered: it's a wonderful space and it has become very dear to me. Make your next masterpiece here!

    Graham2017-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • We come to this place all the time to play music and it's just the best - far enough from distractions to be a great place to work, but still an easy drive into town or to the beach. I can't wait to come back!

    Graham2017-05-25T00:00:00Z
  • This was my first time at the church! It was just as described in the description and by other guests. Checking in was easy, checking out was equally easy, I had no trouble finding the location with Jing's clear directions. The location is very quiet at night time, and relatively quiet during the daytime. But it is helpful to know it is not 'dead-quiet' during the daytime since the road it is on is not a side-road. But hey this was a great retreat from the city where I'm from. The space was expansive, well lit, well heated, and comfortable. The kitchen was well-equipped with a microwave and stove and fridge. Upon check-in I experienced a hiccup but a quick text message to Jing and she was able to get it addressed. After a few days this place really started to feel like a good base camp for my daily forays out to Kincardine and exploring the countryside. The bed was comfortable and firm, the bathroom was exactly as expected. I was able to spend my energy on resting and recuperating from burnout, which was my goal. Thanks to Jing and Gino for being great hosts!

    Dagner2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • A unique space, warm and welcoming. Even though it was once a tiny church, it has a cottage feel - a relaxing and fun/quirky atmosphere. It's great to be welcomed to a place where the motto is: "Our home is your home -- take off your shoes, sit back and play the instruments or curl up in one of our comfy chairs and share our books - and if you can't completely cut yourself off - well go ahead and sign in - the wifi works." Oh, and its sparkling clean with lovely soaps! THANK YOU, Heather and Doug. We'll be back!

  • Great vibe to the space and fantastic acoustics - plus no shortage of nearby trails and a healthy selection of places to eat out at should one want to. An ideal get away!

  • This is a very unique space, worth experiencing!

    Melanie2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • Heather's place is fantastic. It is refreshingly unique, in an era when so many Airbnbs have come to look exactly the same. Heather and Doug were very nice and welcoming and we chatted for quite a while when we arrived. I feel like this is the sort of experience Airbnb originally intended and has become less and less common.

Log home on private 100 acre property, away from the noise and bright lights. With an additional 150 acres of Saugeen conservation right next door. Walking, and private ATV trails. Great for hikers, bikers, atv's and sledders. We are very biker friendly Harley and ATV owners. Happy to show you some great riding roads or ATV trails. Great local swimming hole just minutes up the road.. Enjoy a walk through the private pine forest, with trails.
Come and Stay with Rick and Laura. You will have your own private entrance from the side of the house to the one room with ensuite bathroom, and separate private entrance with stairs up to the loft. Bar fridge, toaster and coffee maker. Unlimited high speed internet with free Netflix. We have 1 bedroom on the main level with a King double bed and living space upstairs that has a double bed, a single bed and a couch, with walk out deck, (TV is located there). There is a 2 piece washroom upstairs as well, with the private shower off bedroom one on the main level. The peace and quite here is unbelievable, and the night time stars are many. There are amazing trails for walking or ATV's. Use the fire pit, wood provided. You can walk for hours all on private property, with access to the Saugeen Conservation lands. See deer, and all kinds of wildlife. There is even a resident bear in the fall. As avid motorcycle enthusiast, we welcome riders and motorists traveling up the peninsula to take the Chi-Cheemaun ferry across to Manitoulin Island. The ferry in Tobermory is just 1:45 minutes away, and I have personally done the ride several times. IMPORTANT: Please Google "Heavens Acres" in West Grey to find exact location. Google has updated the inaccuracy of our address, but your GPS may have not.
This unique spot is very private and away from the hustle and bustle. Whether you just want to get away for the peace and quite or sit around a campfire and enjoy the stars, we are sure you will love the property and everything it has to offer. There are many Mennonite and Amish people living in the community, some who settled here in the 1850's. Our property was a farm in the 1850's and has a long history of being a retreat for Torontonians. We will leave a book upstairs with information on this particular property. Once called the "Tamarack" the property hosted many tired visitors passing through Dornoch on there way to Owen Sound or Toronto. Laura and I love our place and welcome others to enjoy it as well. The 'boys' Cooper and Clifford (2 beautiful, well trained., and well behaved dogs) were were next to greet us! The property is a nature lovers dream come true and the guest loft is absolutely amazing. All the comforts of home plus some added extras we didn't expect...(hot choc, tea, coffee, real cream, fruit, breads, honey...) We hope to return again...and again..... Looking forward to a night around the Fire pit with Laura and Rick and the boys. These are the type of people you meet and hope to have in your life always and forever!!

They have a beautiful property away from traffic and noise. Rick took us out with his ATV which was a great experience for our daughter. All in all, it was a great stay and we would recommend it to anyone. Thanks again!

  • We just returned from a weekend at Heavens Acres. We had a wonderful stay in the country. Our room was clean and comfortable. Coffee, tea, hot chocolate and some breakfast items were left in our room for us to enjoy which was an added bonus. Also, we  were treated to home made cookies during our stay which were delicious! We travel with our 2 dogs and were happy to find an accommodation that was pet friendly. Lots of room on the property for the dogs to explore. We also enjoyed a campfire on our last night. Thanks again!

  • Jo is an excellent host- the apartment was extremely clean and beautifully decorated- everything looked like new. She has thought of everything- the place is fully stocked with cleaning supplies, pots, pans, cutlery, dishes, even oil, salt, pepper, herbs. Also includes coffee maker and kettle. Lots of space in the closet which also includes drawers. It is a central down town location 3 minute drive from grocery stores. Jo also let me know of fun community events that were happening and she was very friendly!

  • Irene is a warm and welcoming host. We really felt like she was sharing her home with our family. Her welcome basket, comfortable beds , well stocked kitchen, decor, beautiful location all added to our lovely stay. It was wonderful to have access to the canoe , kayak and paddle boat . Beautiful afternoons of reading our books on the swing and heartwarming chats around the bonfire at night. Beautiful memories were created... we are so grateful 💝

    Carole2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome! Everything was just perfect! Irene is a wonderful host. She is so thoughtful that she left a special candle for me as she knew I like to meditate. This place has everything that one could need. The kitchen is very well stocked! Loved everything!

    Resham2019-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • Irene's place was a wonderful spot to getaway from the city and relax. Hanover hideaway has everything you would need for a comfortable stay. The kitchen is fully stocked with cooking equipment to keep any chef going. Essential spices and cooking supplies were provided. The master bedroom has a wonderful king size bed with cozy linens. Lots of extra blankets, towels and pillows make for comfortable surroundings. WiFi was fast and consistent. Outside of the cottage, there is plenty to enjoy on the lake -- we made use of the BBQ, canoe, kayak and paddle boats and enjoyed lost of time on the water. The outdoor swing lounger is an amazing comfy place to kick-back. From booking through to check-out, Irene was very prompt with communication, and flexible. She even provided us with a very nice welcome basket to enhance our stay at her place. The surrounding community is friendly and welcoming -- we even enjoyed end of summer live music and fireworks from the fire-pit as the community celebrated labour day on the lake. Would certainly recommend and stay again!

  • Irene’s place is so warm and cozy. It’s the perfect beach house with an amazing kitchen. There was everything we could possibly need and she left us little thoughtful gifts for my son. The water was great and the neighbours were so exceptionally nice and even took us on a boat ride. The bed was super cozy as well. Great fishing for my little guy and it was so nice to have a bonfire every night. It was hard to leave and definitely left a piece of my heart there in Hanover.

    Ana2019-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • Irene's place was perfect, super cozy and right on the water. Perfect for families or just a quite stay. Irene herself was super helpful, responded to question quickly, and even left us a gift basket! Defiently hope to return!

    Ashley2019-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • Our family absolutely loved our stay. The cottage was beautiful and well maintained, and the neighbours were friendly and made us feel right at home. I would highly recommend this cottage.

    Bridget2019-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • We did not want to leave! Irene has thoughtfully provided everything you could need or want at her cottage. She had a wonderful goodie basket waiting for us when we arrived. Lake Rosalind has so many activities on it and the community on the lake were thoughtful, caring and respectful. All the beds and furniture (inside and out) were comfy. Loved sitting on the deck with a good book and soaking in the breeze. It was exactly what our family needed!

Welcome to the 2 bedroom attic level of J Switzer Properties. This clean, newly renovated apartment has all the conveniences and charm that makes your stay cosy and private. Windows to the north, south, east and west allow natural light to flood in. The space is newly carpeted as well as new gas hot water heat and modern air conditioning by a mini split. Enjoy this approximately 750 sq feet space. The open concept kitchen/livingroom (front)is away from the bedrooms (back) making sleeping better.
If stairs don't bother you, the feeling of being on top of the world, nestled away in the charming and quiet two bedroom apartment. People below 6 feet tall will be just fine in this space as it is the newly renovated attic of my building. For those of you taller than 6' maybe one of the other 8 furnished suites/apartments in my building would be better.
I lived in this apartment 10 years ago and fell in love with the brightness and the feeling of privacy.
  • This is a cozy, well kept space.

This Modern compact Suite allows Easy Living for the person(s) staying in the grey Bruce area. Being centrally located approximately one hour from wonderful beaches to the north West and southwest downtime it's a pleasure touring around discovering the area. You will find this location very walkable. Grocery stores are close by as are restaurants, personal care, gyms, stores, a great game store that holds game nights, an arena and aquatic center, Hospital, many churches and schools.
I have been a landlord for over 20 years and 10 years ago started converting the apartments one at a time to short-term. This apartment was entirely rebuilt in 2017. The comfy double bed is separated from the kitchen and living area by a custom closet. This allows for privacy. The triple glazed window muffles outside noise. For those who love to cook but usually find themselves short of time, you will find a fully set up kitchen. In the living room area, curl up on the sofa and enjoy the beautiful gas fireplace.
There is always lots of activity in the area. Between festivals, service group dinners, sporting events, the library, or maybe just going out for a drive and check out all the small surrounding towns there's no need to ever be bored.
  • Fantastic place. Jo is more than welcoming and helpful. Place is super clean and modern. Nothing even close to bad to say about the experience

Ahhh 9' ceilings and a loft feel to this new studio apartment will not disappoint.
So often you have to be away from home but the thing that's usually missing is a great kitchen. On site laundry is just steps away. It's like home but better. Hanover is a walkable town and you will find yourself in the middle of it all.
The location has lots of service businesses all close by. CAT6 connecting for your laptop makes working from home so much easier. No dropped signals. There are fibre optics and an upgraded wifi set up as well throughout the building. Parking is located behind the building. Look for parking spot 1B.
  • Beautiful area, great restaurants, lovely, clean, fashionable place with plenty of extra touches!

    Joy2019-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • First off, Jo was an absolute angel. She really goes above and beyond to make sure you feel at home on vacation. The pictures don’t do the loft enough justice as it is spacious and far more cozy. In addition, it was extremely clean. Mary Jo has also taken the extra step to include cleaning products, personal hygiene products and pamphlets on all the fun things offered in Hanover. We are definitely going to stay here again and will recommend this Air BNB to anyone going to Hanover. 5+ stars!

  • We had a lovely time at Cole's cottage. It is was spacious, clean and comfortable. We had a great time here and would stay again. The only thing we were a little disappointed by was the lack of comfortable outdoor seating/outdoor table options. There are two white plastic chairs around the firepit (one of which was broken) and several outdoor chairs on the front deck that did not have any cushions. Luckily, we had some camping chairs with us so it wasn't a huge issue, but something that people should keep in mind if hoping to spend time outside. Also important to mention that the kitchen is FULLY stocked. You really do not have to worry about bringing anything to cook with and having a coffee bar set up was incredible. Overall the interactions with Cole were very pleasant and he replied very quickly to a question we had during our stay.

    Stephanie2019-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a fantastic weekend. The cottage was clean, fully loaded with board games, cards, movies and a great sound system. Cole was a great host who was very easy to get into contact with and we look forward to going back!

    Katey2019-06-02T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome place to stay and Cole was very easy to work with. We didn't have great weather while we were there, but we still enjoyed ourselves. The sound of the birds and the frogs at night were awesome. Hanover is very close by. There's a microbrewery that has very good beer and good conversation. If you're looking to unplug and get away from work, internet ect... and reset, you'll find the peace and quiet here very welcoming. The cottage itself is very nice and very clean. It has pretty much everything you'd need for your stay. We really appreciated all the dishes and cookware there. I'm sure that we'll stay there again at some point

This operational beef farm is close to great views. You’ll love my place because of the location to the Saugeen River(summer) and snowmobile trails(winter), the outdoors space, the neighbourhood, and the ambiance. The space is good for couples, business travellers, families (with kids), and big groups. It included a private den and spa like bathroom. Private wood lot.
Close to beaches snowmobile trails and the Bruce Trail. Nature at its finest.
Bruce farmland in the southern part of beautiful Bruce County.
  • This farmhouse location is very picturesque. The accommodations are just as they are seen in the pictures - the bedroom is spacious with a lovely cozy fireplace and a very comfy bed. The bathroom is very new with a gorgeous walk-in shower and a soaker tub. Tammy is a lovely and engaging host. The quiet and solitude you can find here is amazing. I heartily recommend!

    Luanne2019-11-06T00:00:00Z
  • The farm is just that perfect little stay that would be great for one or two to get away from the fast paced life of the big city and modern life. Ray and Tammy have a beautiful space carved out in their home for that perfect little retreat and it is nicely priced. Tammy is keen to look after any questions you may have and her response is spectacular. The area is so quaint with fully matured centuries old farms that will just mystify you and invite you in to a slower paced life. Great for those who love scenery. Truly picturesque this fall.....a gem really! I highly recommend anyone in the GTA to use Ray and Tammy’s spot to get away from it all. They are wonderful people and look forward to making your stay a pleasure. God Bless your ventures on the farm. Slow down and enjoy ya’ll, Dan

There are an abundance of farmgate and local markets, craft breweries in Neustadt and Blyth, nearby, and cultural events and festivals all summer long. The cottage is an easy drive to the Lake Huron shoreline for sunsets or a beach day, and the fishing just down the road is pretty sweet.
  • Joanne was a fantastic host and went above and beyond to make sure that we enjoyed our stay. The cottage was just what we were looking for: cozy, comfortable, well equipped and well located. Would highly recommend for a quiet getaway! Thanks Joanne!

We didn’t explore the property too much, but the scenery is very nice from what we saw. Joanne greeted us upon our arrival and was very friendly. We also found the beds to be very comfortable

  • We had an excellent stay at Eagles Nest. Our 2 year old loved watching the horses over the fence, running around the meadow and dancing to Beatles records! We were under a heat advisory for a large portion of our stay and we still found it managable without air conditioning. Joanne was very thoughtful, easy to reach and went out of her way to make our stay comfortable and relaxing. We day tripped a bit to the beach and whatnot, but we could have easily entertained ourselves at the cottage the whole time with all the trails, books and records to explore. I highly recommend a getaway to this gem.
