Places to stay in Titchwell
Forget-me-not Cottage has been refurbished in February. It is a lovely cottage, very cosy and relaxing. It has all the things you could need for a holiday very close by. We are dog friendly at the cottage and welcome your pooch. The cottage will be cleaned thoroughly before your stay. We have buckets and spades for you to take to the beach to make the perfect sandcastle - you’re never too old to make a sandcastle :-) please do not hesitate to contact me for further details.
The cottage is 5 minutes away from the beach, Hunstanton golf club and The Neptune, a Michelin star restaurant (booking required). Also close by is Titchwell for bird watching. Sandingham is a 10 minute drive away. Petals Tea Rooms is great to stop off at for afternoon tea or a cuppa and a slice of cake. Also in Hunstanton Town, which you can walk to is a swimming pool and another lovely beach with arcades and a funfair. 2 minutes walk away is the local, The Lodge, which offers lovely meals and a great beer with garden. There is a play park directly over the road from the cottage and a local shop which offers fresh croissants and other delicious treats.
Old Hunstanton is the place to be. There are leaflets at the cottage to let you know of the many places nearby to visit. I can also advise you further if you would like details
  • This is a lovely cottage with everything you need, in a perfect location. North Norfolk is really special for birdwatchers in winter, so it's great to have a warm cosy cottage to come home to, dogs and all. It's literally seconds away from open fields, pubs and a Michelin starred restaurant, but with everything you need to be fully self-catering. And the beach is only a few minutes down the road.

  • The cottage was perfect for our stay in Old Hunstanton. We visited with our 2 young children and dog. It had everything we needed, high chair, travel cot and plastic kitchenware. The cottage was very clean and beautifully decorated. We really enjoyed visiting the beach, lifeboat station, beach cafe, pirate playground and local pub.

  • Really lovely child and dog friendly cottage in a great location. Local pub (literally next door) was excellent, also had a really nice meal at the Rose & Crown 10 mins away. A perfect weekend getaway!

  • Cottage is beautiful and has everything you would need. Great for walks in the beach for you and dogs. The location was perfect for walking around exploring. We went to The Lodge bar and restaurant, the food was lovely and the setting nice, they also allow dogs in there so perfect for us! Definitely recommend!

  • We loved staying at Forget me not cottage. It was perfect for our little family (including Mabel the dog)! The cottage is very dog-friendly with Old Hunstanton beach a 5min walk away with miles of wide sandy beach for Mabel to run on. The lodge pub is also very convenient....a mere 2 min walk from the courage with excellent service & food. We really enjoyed our stay & will book again if we go back. Other local tips - Gin Trap Inn in Ringstead - food was great & has a choice of over 100 gins! Burnham Market worth a drive out too for a selection of pubs & restaurants.

  • A great apartment, really comfortable and in a brilliant location with a beautiful view. Enjoyed having so much useful stuff in the kitchen too - weighing scales, measuring cups, baking trays - meant we could do a bit of cooking and baking during our time away! Check-in instructions were promptly provided and easy to follow. Thanks Amy for a great stay.

    Dotty2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • The flat was beautifully clean and well-equipped and made even better by the thoughtful gifts left for us. Amy is a great host and her communications were prompt and informative. It’s a beautiful area for walking and we would recommend the footpath to Brancaster Staithe and the White Horse pub for drink and dinner.

    Sarah2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful apartment in a perfect location. So close to the beach which was perfect for long walks and relaxing! We loved it and will definitely be back!

  • This apartment is spacious, spotless and well located to Brancaster beach and the local award winning Ship Inn. We didn’t hear a peep whilst there apart from the howling wind however this did not dampen our stay. The apartment is nearby to neighbouring Burnham Market and Thornham which made visiting other places nice and easy. Amy was in good contact before and during our stay. Thanks for a great stay and the bottle of vino!

  • Delightful cottage, one of several in a lovely private location close to all the amenities available in Thornham. There's a super large field that leads to the deli/cafe where they welcome dogs and have an amazing menu with delicious food. The cottage is in a very quiet off street location, it was very windy when we stayed but we didn't hear a thing. Safe for our two dogs to be off lead too. Very clean, comfy bed, hot bath, well stocked kitchen and lovely welcome basket for humans and dogs; what more could you ask for :) Thornham is a great location and has three pubs and two cafes all within safe walking distance. All very dog friendly, even on a wet and must day! Thank you Corrine, we will be back!

A beautifully presented attractive brick & chalk barn, set in a small development in the small coastal village of Titchwell, renowned for its amazing birdlife and beautiful beach. • The most gorgeous cottage a short stroll from the beach. Caroline was an amazing host, so kind and helpful. The cottage is spacious, beautifully decorated and perfect for a few days away. We’d love to come back.

  • The Old Bakery is a wonderful place to stay. Really cute little village with the beach just down the road and a great pub (The Ship) even closer. A welcome pack including coffee pods, tea, milk, water and lemon cake was a really nice touch, very much appreciated as we arrived on a very wet and windy afternoon. The property is inviting and cosy yet also stylish. From the Nespresso machine to the Dualit kettle to the GHD hairdryer to the Designers Guild linens, attention has been paid to every detail. The property was exceptionally clean with plenty of fluffy towels provided. Caroline was a great host, excellent communication and absolutely lovely in person. We would definitely stay here again.

  • Exceptional AIRBNB. This is a very stylish house with a very well equipped and pretty kitchen, an extremely comfortable bed, spacious living room and it has everything you need for a great stay. It is close to a number of walks directly from the door ( including to the massive beach) and it is also only a short walk to a good pub that has very good food. It was our first time in north Norfolk and would wholly recommend the cottage and the area.

We have 5 friendly Mups n Pups! Fireman's Cottage was built in 1623 and sits in the grounds of Hunstanton Hall and Park. The grounds are only open to the public on Thursdays and even then people must be on foot and keep to the top roadway. A 14th Century moat runs through the garden, separating the cottage from Hunstanton Hall Tranquility in an idyllic location! Such peace and quiet to hear and see wildlife: Muntjac deer, Buzzards, Owls etc The Norfolk coast is a big draw for birdwatching
PLEASE READ carefully :) ... Within these historic walls reside 5 friendly, furry DOGS/pups. Because we are aware that our communal hallways/landings are dog/puppy runways and therefore far from immaculate, we are not fussy about people entering these areas in their shoes; nor do we wish to be judged as such, especially as we are forewarning people. If a completely spotless environment is what you require, then our humble abode will not suit your style :) This is very much a traveller's place for rest and respite, a living home, not a glamourous hotel. The Eves bedroom is on the 2nd floor which has a lovely view through the velux window. The room has a Kingsize bed, single wardrobe for hanging space and drawer space in bedside tables. There are two solid oak high stools to sit and look out of the window as well as a small armchair underneath a reading spotlight. There is also a desk and computer table where a laptop could be used. There are no kitchen/cooking facilities but a fridge and electric kettle are provided along with cups and saucers and drinking glasses, and the use of a microwave could be made available along with dishes and cutlery, but the guest(s) would be responsible for their own washing-up. A sponge-cloth, washing liquid and a teatowel are provided in the bathroom. The bathroom is next door to the bedroom for the sole use of the guest(s). There is a DVD player and we can offer a small selection of films etc to borrow. We can also provide some board games which can be requested upon arrival (Scrabble, Backgammon, Monopoly etc). Because of the nature of the location, guests must respect the privacy of the other properties and residents and not go wandering around. Please take note again: 5 friendly dogs live here. We can accommodate a guest dog with prior discussions, because of our gang and the bedroom generally being kept dog-free:) 1 mile walk to the beach, door to dunes. Motorbikes and bicycles can be securely parked
Although the area is named as Hunstanton Park, it is privately owned by the Le Strange Estate, who equally own Old Hunstanton beach. There are a few residents in the surrounding dwellings who, like us, own their own properties including sections of the roadway, it is the woods and farmland that the Estate own. There is an incredible amount of fascinating history surrounding the area. The village of Old Hunstanton originates from the 13th Century. It is divided by the coast road. The Cottage being on the side of the original village, duck pond, 14th Century Church and the Hall of course. The village has places to eat and drink:- Caley Hall Hotel, The Lodge, The Ancient Mariner, Le Strange Arms Hotel and The Neptune (Michelin star restaurant). There is also the Post Office/village shop and The Old School Hairdressers/Barbers and Beauticians. The beach is approximately 15 minutes walk from door to the dunes across the golf course. There is the lovely Old Boat Cafe by the beach, opposite the RNLI station Old Hunstanton beach is fantastic for sunsets, walks and joins onto the RSPB sanctuary and Nature Reserve.. The Victorian town of Hunstanton is just round the corner, with local shops, supermarkets, garage and services etc.
  • Lifesaving booking after last minute cancellation due to places shutting down. Lovely and quiet location...would stay again.

  • 100% recommend. Location is quiet and picturesque, very near a little village with good bus connections. Rosetta and Gary are amazing hosts, putting chocolates and hot drink sachets in our room, giving us local information, and providing us with plates and cutlery when we asked. The bedroom was lovely, with a fridge, kettle, mugs, and a very very comfortable bed. The bathroom facilities (especially the shower) were great. The pups are adorable and friendly and very soft and love attention from guests. I would emphasise that the communal areas do have quite a bit of dog hair and mud from the pups, but the bedroom and bathroom are kept a staircase away and in sparkling condition. We loved our stay and will definitely come again!

  • An accurate description but it doesn’t do justice to this pretty cottage set in private gardens. The room is cosy and the en-suite bathroom clean and very well stocked. Such a friendly welcome by my hosts and their lovely little pack of gentle dogs.

    Justin2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • It’s a fabulous base to stay, lovely location and everything in the room you could want. Absolute privacy and no expectation to socialise with the host which I really like.

  • If you want a cosy, comfortable room and a warm reception upon arrival, look no further.

  • Fireman's Cottage is tucked away in picturesque surroundings within easy walking distance of Old Hunstanton - just perfect for those who love the Norfolk coast and countryside. Rosetta is a very thoughtful host who makes you feel at home. Heartily recommended!!!

  • Rosetta's place is stylish and provides everything a hotel would with the added benefit of being able to cuddle some dogs! The room was clean, spacious and had a private bathroom. Super comfy bed and linen. Would highly recommend staying here!

At its centre is a large village green surrounded by striking Queen Anne and Georgian buildings, with 2 churches that lie at each end of its broad main street. Unlike many other English towns which are dominated by multiples, Burnham Market has a traditional post office, butcher, baker, hardware shop, fish shop and chemist for all the necessities of everyday life, but there are also over 30 highly original independent and specialist shops, selling a wide range of exciting deli products, vibrant and stylish accessories for home and garden, smart clothes shops, and books old and new. There are some great places to eat, the best being the renowned Hoste Arms which is a 17th Century old coaching house and is open all day. As a result Burnham Market attracts many celebrities and cosmopolitan visitors, getting very crowded in the holiday periods, earning the nickname “Chelsea-on-Sea.” There is an annual summer music festival with professional musicians entertaining residents and holiday makers in various venues such as the lovely church of Burnham Westgate at the western edge of the village. From the end of November the village is beautifully lit with Christmas lights and it makes the perfect place to visit for Christmas shopping.

  • Comfortable, charming, well appointed historic cottage with very modern conveniences. Its location is excellent, with an easy walk to restaurants, shops and pubs on the green. Convenient to the beaches and Holkham Hall, Burnham Thorpe and the seaside town of Wells.

  • Great location and beautiful little cottage. Well equipped with everything you could need and the open fireplace in the lounge was just wonderful. I would keep in mind as it's a character property it does have lower doors ways and a steep staircase, not a problem for us though. Also Burnham Market is a great place for foodies and is only 15mins away from a great beach for dogs. Highly recommended.

  • Beautifully cosy cottage tucked away in the small village of docking. Me as my partner took our dog and found it the ideal location to explore the north Norfolk cost from with beaches and costal walks only a few miles away. A Lidl supermarket was close by and a spar in the village for any last minute bits. Hosts were extremely hospitable as we were treated to numerous extras upon our arrival which went down a treat! Would defiantly recommend and return.

Philip's place is located in Holme-next-the-Sea, England, United Kingdom. You are staying a few minutes walk from Holme Beach - at the last house on Beach Road (the original Peddars Way) - so can swim in the sea at dawn, during the day, at dusk or even by the starlight. Walk with your dog for miles. You'll be right by the Norfolk Coastal path, Holme Dunes National Nature Reserve, the Bird Observatory and the Hunstanton Golf Club championship links course. You can hear the sea from your front door. We are in a Special Site of Scientific Interest (SSSI) and an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), where the Wash meets the North Sea. It's a couple of minutes to the Norfolk Coastal path - so walkers walk to Thornham, Brancaster or further and hop back on the bus which drops you at the top of Beach Road on the A149. You'll soak in the dunes, marsh and sea - or walk along the Hun river and see resident and migrating birds. You could also hear the natterjack toads and see butterflies, moths and dragonflies, as well as a large number of interesting plants including mulleins flowering in our wild garden. If you are a golfer, you can play Hunstanton Golf Club's superb championship links course. It's 125 years old and rated as one of Britain & Ireland's 'Top 100' courses, with the rolling fairways nestling in a stunning landscape of dunes and links grassses. You can also play at the Heacham Manor. If you secure a round at the Royal West Norfolk Golf Club at Brancaster, you'll need to park your car and walk when the tide is high. Various military remains from WWII can be seen at Holme, including the remains of a target-railway used to train artillery. Much earlier remains have also been discovered including an ancient walkway, Roman pottery and saxon fishtraps. In 1998, a well-preserved Bronze Age timber circle, now known as ‘Seahenge’ was uncovered by high tides. The timbers were treated in the Mary Rose laboratory and are now in the museum at King's Lynn. King's Lynn was a Hanseatic town - and is worth a visit. Seahenge 2 is difficult to discern - and often covered by sand. Walk to the cliffs at Hunstanton for fossil hunting and to see one of 2 boat wrecks easily visible at low tide. The other is on Holme Beach between Gore Point and the Firs. Birdwatchers may see wintering thrushes on the sea buckthorn, or avocets, a beautiful black-and-white wader with upturned bill and long legs, on the freshwater. Wheatears and warblers are common in spring and finches and thrushes in the autumn - sometimes there'll be scarcer migrants such as the ring ouzel, wryneck, yellow-browed warbler or barred warbler. It's a great place to seawatch for gannets, skuas, terns and divers. Knot, golden plover and oyster catchers can be seen on the beach. Our wild garden is alive - with our sparrows and starlings nesting in the roof. It makes the front door and the bench a little untidy sometimes! If they have a safe migration, you will also hear the cuckoos in spring and the turtledoves in summer. ✯ 2019: Cuckoos arrived safely - and one is still calling in July. ✯ The turtledove have safely arrived from their perilous migration. You'll hear their distinctive purring and may be lucky enough see them too. ✯ On warmer nights, the Natterjack toads call. ✯ This is the only part of the east coast of England where the sun sets over the sea, providing lovely views in both summer and winter. Great communication and everything was so easy, from check in to departure. The studio is comfortable, cosy and absolutely gorgeous, even better than the photos!" "Delightful accommodation in a lovely setting and perfect location. If you are looking for a place that has the feeling of being miles from anywhere but which has a pub/restaurant and bus stop a shortish walk away, this is for you. A longer walk along the beach will provide you with even more choice of places to eat and drink. Truly ‘the best of both worlds’." "A real gem! Very cosy and comfortable accommodation in a brilliant location. Spotlessly clean with plenty of throws and personal touches to make you feel at home and welcome. The host is friendly and nothing is too much trouble. I will definitely be returning." "Book this place now!! It was great, me and my girlfriend stayed here for one night and we really wish we had stayed longer! Location is quiet, right next to the beach, a 3 minute walk. We walked down to the beach last night and it was beautiful, empty and great. We didn't meet Ermine, but communication was fantastic, check in details were great and amenities are perfect. Book this place now, it's perfect." "We had a wonderful time in this lovely place - it has everything you need and beautiful coastal surroundings for exploring and walking. Ermine is a really thoughtful host and there are many thoughtful touches such as a well stocked bathroom cabinet, dresser stocked with teas and coffee and the microwave oven. If you need a peaceful getaway this is it!" ✯✯✯✯✯
  • Fantastic communication with hosts following booking. Clear instructions on location, check in/out procedure, facilities etc. Wonderful location, secluded beach behind the cottage. Place was immaculately clean, spacious and the fireplace was a wonderful little luxury. Highly recommend, we will definitely stay again.

  • The cottage is very comfortable and cozy and the fireplace makes everything more charming. The location is great and very close to the beach. We had great walks there. Philip has always been very helpful and kind and gave us very quick responses anytime. As a suggestion for everything to be even more perfect, it would be good to install a shower in the bathroom. We thank Philip and Ermine for their hospitality and we definitely recommend their space. Lucas & Andrea

  • Just returned from a relaxing stay at the Cottage. It really was a home from home (only much nicer). Some lovely additional personal touches and a welcome hamper add to our stay. The deli opposite is out of this world. You can get a meal there or buy one from the store. And don’t miss out on the Rocky road slices.

  • Thornham Cottage No.2 was exactly how it is presented in the photograph, a delightful little terrace right in the middle of Thornham. It was the perfect size for me, my partner and our little dog and had everything we needed to have an amazing trip to North Norfolk. The cottage was beautiful inside with everything finished perfectly. We found all the amenities that we could ever need provided for us which made the stay effortless. Finishing touches such as having the log burning stove prepared with kindling and newspaper ready to light really made this stay special!

  • Beautifully located smack bang between Hunstanton and Brancaster. Really enjoyed our stay which was only 0.5 of a mile from the North Norfolk coastal way. The place was in immaculate condition with a small BBQ outside if desired and for the colder days a log burner, we didn’t need either due to the mild February but always good to have the option. Would say check tide timings before attempting walks. The Deli is over the road which offers much of what you need. Overall would highly recommend and would stay again.

  • Cottage No.2 in Thornham was a wonderful place to spend a few days. The house is beautifully decorated and incredibly comfortable. With handy parking just outside the garden gate and lots of pubs, delis and restaurants within walking distance, we were spoilt for choice but we actually ended up staying in much more than we had originally planned as the house was just so lovely. It was lovely to be welcomed with a few supplies from the deli across the road such as fresh orange juice, milk and delicious bread. We also found the kitchen to be very well stocked with essential items. All in all, we had a wonderful baby moon and returned home feeling refreshed after a quiet few days in the country. Thank you Janie!

  • Beautifully renovated & decorated cottage. Very comfortable bed, fantastic bathroom, a lovely kitchen/sitting room with everything you would ever need. A short walk to 2 great pubs and the Coastal Path, and opposite Thornham Deli, which is amazing, and the bus stop for the Coastliner bus.
