Some recent reviews for The Farmhouse …… Myself and my extended family stayed at this property from 30/12/19 to 02/01/20. We had the most wonderful New Years Eve. We were met by Anita and her housekeeper on arrival and everything about the property and the local area was explained to us. Shaun then Allen and presented us with bottles of Proseco which was a lovely touch. The property is fabulous it’s so quirky yet so very homely. The space is fantastic for a large group as it can afford so much space and still provide a quiet spot if one needs to get away from the group. It was spotlessly clean and very tidy and so do warm and cosy. Towels were provided and plenty of them for all guests. The kitchen/diner is a lovely space and equipped to a very high standard there is plenty of crockery and cooking utensils and the large range cooker is terrific. I cannot recommend this property highly enough. It is a gem of a property for a large group and with the added bonus of the lovely hot tub it’s a winner. The booking which we did with Phil and Cath was easy and so professional any questions were answered immediately and emails were responded to very quickly. Love love this property Teresa McK - TripAdv1sor Jan 2020 We had such an amazing time at the farmhouse in Doncaster! We had everything we needed to make it a special time for our girl! The lambs, alpacas and puppy made it extra special. Thank you Sarah-Claire Hewitt - FacebOOk We stayed at The Farmhouse for my best friend's Hen Party and we had the best (very unique) weekend! Feeding alpacas and lambs was an amazing experience although the alpacas were rather enjoying each others company (if you know what I mean ;) We had a caterer, PTJ, come to the house on Saturday night and we had a BBQ, Nikki was really friendly and made the best pulled pork I have ever had! We had a really enjoyable weekend and I would recommend to any Hen looking to spend some quality time with her family and friends. Phil and Cath have been amazing and the weekend would have amounted to very little without their help and advice :) Rosie Saunders - FacebOOk I spent last weekend at the farmhouse for my hen do. It was totally amazing! There were 20 of us and the space was perfect. We loved the garden, the cute bedrooms, the great social areas downstairs and enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub and feeding the alpacas. Phil and Cath were good at email communication and the information sheet they sent in advance with tips for activities and travel was really useful. Shaun met us at the farmhouse and he was totally lovely. Thank you for a great stay, I wish I could do it all again! The heated tree cabin is set within a small secluded wood up a steep path. Cedar lined, insulated and oak clad it cantilevers out over a remote mill pond. Wake up in a tranquil heaven only shared with shy wildlife, including deer, hare, the odd badger and a variety of birds. In the cabin are a king-size sofa bed, table and chairs, kitchen area with kettle, microwave oven and chiller. Your own smaller tree cabin, a few trees away, houses a flushing toilet and hand basin with spring water.
Whilst in bed gently falling asleep watch the moon rise over the mill pond through the tree branches and then watch the sun rise the following morning! A romantic getaway for the adventurous couple. Tucked away in a small woodland at the edge of a mill pond you will feel totally secluded as the cabin is difficult to spot from the surrounding areas but the reality is that you are close to a no through road, a village store and the delights of Hebden Bridge. Supplied with electricity and hot and cold spring water you are still part of the 21st Century but at the same time remote from it all. (In fact, so remote, that there is barely any mobile signal or wifi). There is a quality king size sofa bed, chairs for relaxing and dining and a kitchen area with basic cooking equipment and electric heating. Most 'camping style' cooking and eating essentials are provided including a microwave oven and a chiller cabinet. There is also a small portable induction hob and frying pan. A full breakfast is not included, but inside the cabin you will find cereals, fruit juice, milk, fruit yoghurt and of course tea, coffee and sugar. A few trees away there is your own, smaller tree house with a flushing toilet and hand basin fed with pure spring water. Hot running water, face flannels and towels are provided. There is an external hot and cold alfresco shower or for the hardy (or foolhardy!) take a dip in the mountain stream. If the weather is inclement we can usually arrange a time for you to use the shower in the main house.
We are surrounded by public footpaths, bridleways for biking and plenty of fresh air. There is a farm shop under a mile away that stocks everything and is open 12 hours a day. The nearest bus stop with a regular half hourly service to Hebden Bridge is a mile away. We are on a no-through, single track, tarmac road.
  • It's hard to find the words to explain how amazing this place is. Tranquil, beautiful and a little bit of heaven tucked into a gorgeous bit of Yorkshire. It was lovely and cosy and very comfortable. Tony was an amazing host, I didn't get chance to meet Barbara but I will be back so hopefully will get the pleasure next time. The outdoor shower was just amazing. The weather was fairly mild but it was an exhilarating experience none the less. I can't wait to visit again.

  • The pictures and descriptions have literally made me feel excited ever since booking this trip and whilst they were incredibly accurate, nothing prepared me for the overwhelming beauty of the space, as we arrived. Tony was incredibly welcoming and supportive and explained everything to us with so much patience, although we had arrived quite late. The view from the bed in the mornings was probably my highlight, and I don't believe I could put into words how very calming, nourishing and relaxing the little cabin was. On the last day, we braved the elements and tried the alfresco shower and it was such a surreal experience. Despite the cold temperature outside, the water was hot enough to not even notice the cold, and the views were simply breathtaking. Both the main cabin and the smaller "bathroom" were decorated with so much love for details and provided us with everything we could have possibly dreamt of. We had no reception whatsoever, which was great to just be in the moment and take everything in. We went to Hebden Bridge twice for food and coffees and had lovely vegan food and stacked up on some snacks and water. The fairy lights outside the door, as well as the smaller lamps inside the cabin always invited us to stay in, read a lot of books or play chess. Overall this was one of the most beautiful holidays I have ever been on and we are more than excited to hopefully come back next year again.

  • Stunning place even in the rain. Beautiful surroundings truly at one with nature. On arrival Tony & Barbara shared information about the local area and walls. Then to the cabin which was very spacious and tranquil. 100% recommend this place. Would like to book again when I can find a date it’s free, that’s just how amazing this place is. Thank you so much!

  • We had a lovely stay in the cabin and really enjoyed our time there! Feels very secluded despite being close enough to the house in case we needed anything; the perfect balance! Tony and Barbara provided some very handy tips for walks around the area, as well as delicious flapjacks and great selection of hot drinks and breakfast options. Really accommodating of dairy free too, which was much appreciated! Good location, with Hebden Bridge only a short drive or bus journey away. Such wonderful accommodation. Will definitely be looking to stay again next year!

    Harriet2019-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing stay at Barbara and Tony's, really friendly hosts and beautiful location with lots to do nearby. The cabin itself was really unique and Barbara and Tony provided us with useful ideas for walks and were really quick with communication

    Simran2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at the tree cabin for a little break away. It was absolutely beautiful, great location & the hosts were lovely adding thoughtful touches to the stay including Tony’s homemade delicious flapjacks 😃

    Lauren2019-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • You have to experience the cabin to understand it's charms. It was everything the details told us but Tony and Barbara's extra bits were great. Homemade flapjack on our arrival was delicious along with all the tea, coffee etc which was so helpful but on arriving the peace was something else. Absolutely no phone signal or WiFi in the unit helped us relax but you cannot stay in the cabin and not relax. We never touched the car until we left walking everywhere and wallowing in the views but the final joy was on the morning we left jumping into the outdoor shower was an experience that will stay with me for a very long time. Thank you for sharing you little bit of paradise.

    Rosemary2019-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • Such lovely hosts, gave us a proper tour of the area when driving back from the station and invited us in to show us some local routes. A very relaxing stay and well worth the money.

Also worth a visit is Centre Vale Park, which is newly re-open after recent environmental works. With its backdrop of Buckley Wood, it is a scenic delight and provides bowling greens, a sculpture trail, children’s play-area, a skateboard park, a unique bandstand, a tranquil memorial garden as well as a reptile house and aviary. • The house was so beautiful! The photographs do not do it justice! Stayed for a hen do and the house made the trip. It was so special - beautifully decorated, spotless and facilities were excellent. The surroundings were lovely particularly when enjoying from the hot tub! Each bedroom was done wonderfully and each guest felt really looked after and in a 5* stay. The view from the King bedroom was particularly lovely to wake up to! The house offers such a large communal area which was lovely for the occasion. To top it all off, David was so helpful from the day of booking and particular in my last minute flurry or questions. If you want a special trip with beautiful facilities - stay here!

  • Absolutely superb barn conversion. Modern living space with very thoughtful touches. We continued with our stay as we would be isolated and we are glad we did. It’s recharged our batteries before a long stay at home. Sue was a perfect host, messages answered almost immediately. DO NOT pass this Gem by, you will not be disappointed.

  • The barn is a home away from home, it has everything you need! Great value for money and in a great location for a little break away! Some lovely places around to go walking or for some food but the barn also has great facilities if you want to just stay in play games and cook. The views are incredible and can’t forget to mention how cute the animals are especially Sue’s dog! Highly recommend x

    Rachel2020-01-22T00:00:00Z
  • The barn is very stylish, sparkling clean and nicely decorated - modern yet homely. It had everything we needed for our stay, and the fresh eggs were a lovely touch. The barn's location is excellent; you have enough privacy but you're not completely isolated. The local village is a 5 minute drive away with plenty of shops should you need something. Communicating with Susan was straight-forward and easy. There were plenty of recommendations for local attractions/experiences which were very much appreciated. The barn really completed our escape from the city life, and we would definitely recommend staying here - it's great value for money too. Thanks again Susan!

Remote country cottage in West Yorkshire, >5miles from Todmorden & Hebden Bridge. Recently renovated accommodation; kitchen/diner, 2 double bedrooms with low ceilings, modern bathroom, enclosed private garden, well behaved pets welcome, located on valley top with amazing views and immediate access to the surrounding countryside.
Our cottage is located in a lovely rural location, surrounded by walks and mountain biking tracks, with impressive panoramic views across the Calder Valley. Perfect if you love being outdoors in the beautiful West Yorkshire countryside. Todmorden with its fab market and pubs is a 30-40 min walk down the valley, and Hebden Bridge a 15 min drive. The cottage is completely self contained, attached to our farm house, but with its own parking and small private garden area. We live next door in the farm house and will normally be around at the weekends if you need anything, but don’t worry, we’ll give you plenty of space during your stay. Our neighbourhood consists of 2 other stone farm houses on a country track, accessed off the main road - Kebs Rd/Long Causeway. You will pass both of these and cross 2 further fields before you reach the cottage. We are in a remote location, there is no nearby public transport, so if you come without a car please be prepared to pay for taxis. Nearby we have Blackshaw Head village, a few miles along the Long Causeway towards Hebden Bridge, where you can find the New Delight Inn and May’s Farm Shop. The New Delight is a 50 min walk from the cottage and outside the pub is a bus stop for Heptonstall and Hebden Bridge. Todmorden is a market town with an industrial heritage and an eye to the future with its internationally acclaimed self sufficiency scheme known as Incredible Edible. Its indoor and outdoor markets (open weds to sun) has stalls selling local farm produce. The popular Hebden Bridge has many boutique shops, café’s, restaurants, various festivals and an annual Car Rally. Further afield are Haworth and the Bronte country, Keighley and the Worth Valley Steam Railway. Halifax with its Piece Hall and Eureka museum, the National Trust area of Hardcastle Craggs and the Singing Ringing Tree in Burnley; all are within a radius of 10 miles. From Todmorden and Hebden Bridge there are excellent rail links to Manchester, Leeds, York and Blackpool. Available for short term holiday lets we try to be as flexible as possible in accommodating your needs. Please note there is a minimum 3 night booking over bank holidays.
The views from the cottage are pretty amazing, panoramic and far reaching. We have a great local pub in Blackshaw Head which brews its own beer just up the road from the house called the New Delight (http://www.newdelightinn.co.uk/), and a lovely restaurant called the Staff of Life just down in the valley.
  • We had a fabulous stay, the cottage was lovely and the view from the lounge window was fantastic. Very peaceful location. Aisling was a super helpful host. We would definitely like to come back for another visit.

    Charlotte2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • An awesome spot with a great view from the floor to ceiling window. A very warm and cosy cottage to snuggle up and enjoy some dramatic weather. Our lurcher loved the location and we had a great walk around the Bridestones as well as exploring the valley. Directions and communication were great throughout.

    Rachel2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • A Lovely place up on the tops, Aisling is a great communicator and it is always a pleasure to stay threw.

    Lloyd2020-01-30T00:00:00Z
  • We had an absolutely peaceful stay here. The view from the main window is absolutely out of this world- perfect on a summer or winter day. The lodge is very peaceful and very private even though it is on an operating farm. Thank you for your lovely hospitality

    Mark2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • A cosy hideaway in some of the most stunning hills and moors this country can offer - will definitely be staying again, fingers crossed for a thunderstorm next time.

    Paul2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • A remarkable unique stay! Surrounded by folklore this cosy getaway is perfect for getting away from it all, snuggling up and watching the magic mists. Had a wonderful time with my family and kept returning to our favourite cafes in hebden bridge. Picture perfect morning and night walks right on the doorstep. Super peaceful. Will definately consider staying again and friends who visited all enquired about staying in the future!

    Sarah2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Getting to the location can be tricky if you are not used to narrow, twisty roads but when you get to Aisling's directions it's pretty straightforward if a little bumpy! Despite being attached to their house, you feel like place is your own. The conversion is cosy and warm and the beds really comfy. Shower is good too. Views are spectacular with the Bridestones literally on your doorstep. Our two dogs loved the open space and being able to run free safely. Lots of walks straight from the house and Hebden Bridge and Todmorden closee by. We had Sunday lunch at the Shepherds Rest which was spot on with lots of great real ales. Communication was quick and accurate too. Thanks for being great hosts!

  • Jill is an amazing host with a property to match. The cottage has everything you need inside it, and it is located on a private and peaceful plot of land. You can park your car right outside the door, and it has a nice big garden for dogs to play in. The cottage is immaculate and we loved the little surprise treats Jill left for us on our arrival including the dog biscuits for our dogs Coco and Lucky. We had a lovely few days staying at this property and would recommend it. There are plenty of places to eat near by, and we enjoyed visiting Todmorden and Hebden Bridge. Thank you Jill!x

    Clare2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a real gem! Lovely welcome touches like treats for the dog, milk and tea bags as well as chocolate for us. Nice decor with everything you need and no fussy clutter. Great setting. Wonderful walks. The alma inn was great and welcomed the dog. Hosts on hand if you need them but totally respected our privacy too. I would highly recommend this place and would like to return when the weather is brighter.

    Tracey2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage offers a great base for visiting local areas. All spotless and modern amenities close enough to hosts but private too.

  • I had the most wonderful stay. It was perfect for my study break and would be just as great for a break away. I will definitely stay again. Thank you!

  • Jill and Matts place was amazing. Everything from the location to the communication was 5 stars. We booked a last minute weekend away to explore the area with the dog. And it didn’t disappoint. Jill and Matt were so thoughtful, messaging exact directions, leaving us a welcome gift and even leaving the dog some treats and her own towel. The cottage was spotless, it had everything you could possibly need and more. Jill and Matt were both available on the phone should we need anything. We would 100% recommended this place. So much so, we’re going to book again in a few weeks and my parents are looking at staying too, thank you so much to both of you. Ricky, Rebecca and Cleo xx

    Rebecca2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely , cosy little cottage in an idyllic location. There are some beautiful walks in the surrounding area....perfect for dogs!! There are some lovely touches with Jill providing all the essentials that you need in the cottage such as tea, coffee, milk, biscuits and everything needed to cook. Some really useful tips on the local area and good internet and TV......we will return and I highly recommend

    Andy And Rachel2020-01-09T00:00:00Z
  • Very helpful host from the start of the booking to the departure, even allowing us an extra hour to check out. All the little things that you normally have to take away with you for a weekend were supplied ie cooking oil, kitchen towel, toilet roll, hand soap, towels and even a towel for the dog (although I took my own as never imagined these would be provided). A welcome pack which we devoured, this included milk, chocolate, cakes, sweets and biscuits for the dog. The cosy cottage was spotlessly clean, it felt as though we were the first people to stay in a newly renovated place, even though we were not! Very impressed and would highly recommend. Excellent value for money.

    Joanne2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage is perfect for a small family like ours (with a toddler and a 4-year old). The space is super clean, cosy and child friendly. Kitchen has everything one needs for a short stay and more. We particularly enjoyed the stunning walks and local pub. Having the tv in the lounge helped us relax with the little ones at night after long days out. The location is perfect for both urban and countryside experiences. We couldn’t recommend this place more. Jill is a fantastic host.

Private self-contained studio flat in stone cottage. The space has a double bed, 2 comfortable chairs, dining table and chairs, fireplace with electric stove, central heating. There is a small kitchen area with sink, kettle, toaster, combination microwave/oven/grill and fridge. There is a shower room with wash basin, loo and electric shower.
This is a 'granny flat' located on the ground floor of a family house. It is completely separate from the rest of the house, although it is on the same central heating system. It's got everything you would want for a short or even long stay, with a kitchen and dining space and comfortable seating area. The space is perfect for short or long stays. We offer a discount on stays of a week or more. Check in is after 12 noon, but we can be flexible, contact us if you want to arrive earlier, it may be possible. Check out is 11am, similarly talk to us if you want to stay longer than that.
This is a lovely quiet neighbourhood, it feels like a village on the outskirts of Halifax. We look out over the valley, and are on the edge of lovely woods. We're very close to the iconic Wainhouse Tower and are surrounded by lovely countryside and parks. There is a Tesco within a few minutes walk, and lots of good places to eat and drink nearby, including the wonderful Big 6 pub. If you want ideas about places to eat please ask us. The Tower House Hotel is a very short walk away - handy if you are attending a wedding or event there but don't want to stay at the hotel.
  • We had a really lovely stay at Anne's place. The flat felt spacious, attractive and clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable, relaxing stay. And it's in a beautiful peaceful location with nice views but walkable into the centre of Halifax. Anne and John were warm, friendly and welcoming, and took time to give us valuable advice about the local area. And delicious homemade jam for breakfast!

    Juliette2020-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at Anne and John's place was so relaxing! I had an entire flat to myself which was brilliant because I needed to get a lot of work done. Anne and John are super kind. They left me to myself but were always available to answer any questions I had. They know loads about the area and are always up for a nice chat. Anne even agreed to let me use her washing machine because I was going to travel on after check-out, which is amazing, not everybody is OK with that. The view is amazing, you can see the entire valley and Sowerby Bridge at the foot of the hill. And the bed was the most comfortable one I've ever slept in. Definite recommendation from me, if you come to Halifax or Sowerby Bridge, stay with Anne, you'll be well looked after.

We live in the beautiful Calder valley and offer 1 double bedroom, with a King sized bed, plus exclusive use of our second sitting room. Plenty of things to do in the valley, great walks and access to Halifax/Leeds/Bradford/ Manchester... and beyond.
A large Edwardian house with an arts and crafts movement 'feel' to it. The large garden offers a peaceful place to contemplate in all year round. The kitchen, bathroom and shower room are all shared with the resident owners. Exclusive access to the 2nd sitting room with Sky TV. Wi-Fi available throughout.
We love the area not just for the views. The community is warm and helpful, typical Yorkshire hospitality.

Our comfortable traditional stone terrace house is conveniently located for exploring Calderdale. The house has a lounge with a beautiful wood burning stove ( wood not provided) There is a small kitchen, a large bathroom with and one comfortable double bedroom with an orthopaedic mattress. There is Wifi, small patios to front and back with table and chairs. The house is situated in an elevated position above the town of Sowerby Bridge and has a wonderful view over hills in the distance.
Cosy but spacious accommodation for two people. The house is in a quiet street above the town of Sowerby Bridge with far reaching views over the countryside. There is outside space front and back with seating at the front and tables and chairs at the back. Theres free on street parking. The bedroom faces South westerly and has a double bed with orthopaedic mattress. There is a spacious wardrobe and large chest of drawers and generous shelves. We have a large bathroom with corner bath and shower. Lounge has views over distant countryside. Theres a wood burning stove ( we don't provide wood unfortunately as we don't live nearby)
Sowerby Bridge is a small Pennine Town with an industrial past. Situated in Calderdale, on the river Calder, Sowerby Bridge is quieter and less touristy than nearby Hebden Bridge but also has an interesting canal basin and lovely nearby countryside. The town is within easy access of all that Calderdale has to offer. The town boasts several good cafes, pubs and restaurants and is well connected by rail and bus. The nearby countryside offers plentiful walks and there are many excellent country pubs. The house is in an elevated position above the town in a safe neighbourhood and is close to bus stops for nearby Halifax, Hebden Bridge and Ripponden. Bronte country is within reach by car or public transport and it is also possible to reach Leeds and Manchester by train There is an annual rushbearing festival in the town which is well worth experiencing Some popular places to eat and drink in the area include The newly opened and highly recommended Moorcock Inn, Norland, see the review by Jay Rayner in the Guardian Up the road in Warley village is the fantastic Maypole inn, great views from the garden, large portions and great value, this is walkable for the fit on a nice evening ( uphill to get there - 30 min walk). Also in Warley is the Winterburn Pub which has amazing views over the area Gimbals restaurant down the road in Sowerby Bridge, fine dining in a lovely setting. The Village Indian restaurant is probably the nearest eatery , excellent Indian food and they also do takeaways. Another recommended Indian restaurant is Syhiba, also on Wharf st. The Hobbit in Norland - has a Sunday Carvery and views over Sowerby Bridge. Best value and biggest menu choices locally is the Sportsmans inn, Barkisland - also does an excellent Sunday Carvery The Moorings pub in Sowerby Bridge is in an old water mill by the canal which serves food. There's a lovely cafe down the road from us on Wharf St called Moonbean, selling breakfast, lunch, sandwiches, cakes, nachos and with gluten free, veggie and vegan options ( though not a veggie only place). The cafe is licensed and has a large selection of gins amongst other alcoholic drinks. They also do smoothies. The Larder delicatessen on Wharf street also has a cafe attached. Gabriel's cafe, near to the bottom of Gratrix lane ( so probably our nearest) serves coffee and cakes and sandwiches with indoor and outdoor seating. The nearest pub/bar to the house is the Peacock at the top of Bairstow Lane on Burnley Rd. Other good pubs in the town of Sowerby Bridge are - The Hogshead ( real ale brewed on the premises) ; Hollins Mill ( large selection of real ales) ; The Firehouse ( also serves food), The Blind Pig for live music and late opening. The town is also fortunate to have a good Wetherspoons Pub, The Commercial- serving food and drink all day ( including breakfast) . There's a Lidl and a Tesco in Sowerby Bridge- there's other large stores and supermarkets including Sainsburys in Halifax. Halifax is within very easy reach by car or public transport and the newly renovated Piece Hall and nearby Square Chapel are particularly worth visiting.

A lovely quiet self contained large cottage with superb views across the countryside. A comfortable stone built cottage with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, spacious lounge/diner, fully equipped kitchen and a private driveway. We are in a quiet rural area, quite literally in the middle of a field, and sometimes surrounded by sheep! Lots of great walks, things to do, and close enough to York, Manchester, Leeds, Harrogate. Dog friendly. Wheelchair access.
The Gatehouse Cottage is a lovely cosy place in the countryside. We are near to shops, roads and iconic sightseeing areas. But our little cottage has been kitted out to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Wi-fi, TV, games, jigsaws are included. There is a large kitchen which is genuinely well equipped, so that if you want to do your own cooking you should have almost everything you need. Dishwasher, toaster, kettle, microwave as well as a range of pans and pots, crockery and cutlery. There is a downstairs bedroom with en-suite wetroom. The utility area has a free to use washing machine, and small tumble dryer. up a steep narrow staircase is a second bedroom, with their own bathroom on the opposite landing. We originally fitted out the Cottage for my parents, and who needed wheelchair access. So the threshold to the Cottage is only 0.5inch. Most of the doors are wide to accommodate a wheelchair user. The downstairs bedroom is easy to get around, with a sliding door into the wetroom, which is wheelchair accessible, and has a shower with a fold down seat, and also has grab rails in appropriate places. Outside the kitchen is a small area under the stairs, which can be used to store/recharge a wheelchair/mobility scooter. Access to a patio with views across the valley. Electric BBQ.
We are 15 minutes from the centre of Halifax. The renovated Piece Hall and Square Chapel are well worth a visit. We have local shops and several restaurants and take-always in West Vale (in fact West Vale has become so trendy, the locals call it West Vegas!). From Thai, Indian, Fish & Chips, Bistro, Craft Beer, Tapas and Street Food and all on offer. Or try eating at The Moorcock off Norland for some mouthwatering famed local food! York and Harrogate are about 55 minutes away, Leeds 20 minutes and Manchester 35 minutes. You have great access to the Yorkshire Moors, and nearby Ilkley Moor. If you are a shopper, then Manchester, Leeds, Old Trafford and a couple of outlet centres should create ample shopping opportunities! Closeby is Holmfirth (Last of the Summer Wine), Emmerdale studios, and if you are a Last Tango in Halifax or Happy Valley fan - many of the sets were shot around here. Old Trafford Football Stadium, and the RHS Harlow Carr Gardens are good to visit as well. To be honest, there really is such a lot to see and do!
  • Well equipped, clean , spacious, very welcoming and helpful host with lots of thoughtful "touches".... good location for exploring, walks etc etc Recommend highly

Gorgeous Yorkshire views come rain or shine and the exterior of the property itself is breathtaking. The continental breakfasts were always delicious and there was plenty to choose from. Set in the steep and stunning Luddenden Valley within 13 hectares of beautiful Calderdale countryside, Jerusalem Farm Barn is a barn conversion set close to Jerusalem Farm Campsite and is surrounded by a landscape of woodland valleys and high moorland plateaux. With a welcoming atmosphere and accessibility-friendly facilities, Jerusalem Farm Barn is a perfect place to enjoy the local nature reserve, which provides a safe haven for woodland birds, woodpeckers, herons and deer.
Jerusalem Farm Barn was created with people with accessibility needs in mind. The barn is fully accessible for wheelchair users and has facilities including a hoist which runs from the bedroom to fully accessible en suite bathroom and profiling bed . With its own extensive network of footpaths, Jerusalem Farm Barn also makes an ideal base from which to access the wider countryside, which is largely protected for its breeding bird population and can be easily accessed by foot or push bike through an extensive and well marked network of public rights of way. The camp site and the spacious grassy areas below the barn are also accessible by wheelchair. Situated between Halifax and Hebden Bridge, the site is perfect for exploring the surrounding South Pennines, an area rich in both natural and industrial archaeology. The mill towns of Sowerby Bridge and Mytholmroyd (the birthplace of former Poet Laureate Ted Hughes) are nearby, with Hebden Bridge particularly good for day trips, with cafés, galleries and a grand old picture house. Haworth, home of the Brontës, is just a few miles over the moors. "Eureka!", The National Children’s Museum in Halifax (for big and little kids) can be reached in around 20 minutes as can the Grade I listed Piece Hall. The green oasis of Shibden Estate with its park and hall, soon to be seen on TV in the BBC/HBO drama Gentleman Jack. Jerusalem Farm is owned and operated by Calderdale Metropolitan Borough Council
Jerusalem Farm is set in the picturesque Luddenden Valley. This community is dominated by small cottages and farms, and has a extensive network of footpaths which included the nationally recognised trails The Calderdale Way and Pennine Way. Two small villages can be located in the Luddenden Valley. Luddenden with Grade II listed Lord Nelson Pub, once regularly frequented by the famous Branwell Bronte, and Midgley which its community run local shop.
  • This is great if you want to get away from it all. Having no phone signal was a bonus as we all talked to each other and played games. We enjoyed nature being literally on our doorstep. Any questions we had were answered very promptly. We are looking forward to returning in the future.

  • Perfect property for my elderly Mum with mobility issues. Also large communal space for everyone to be together, especially liked that the kitchen area was open plan so if like me you end up doing the cooking you don't feel detached from the rest of the party.

This character cottage is a 10-15 walk from the centre of Hebden Bridge with street parking outside. The property has been recently renovated to a very high standard and includes all amenities of a functioning home. The accommodation has beautiful period features with some modern twists. Facilities include two bedrooms both with double beds, a bathroom with large shower, open spacious kitchen/living room, beautiful garden and plenty of storage inside and out. !!!DOG FRIENDLY!!!
The walk into Hebden Bridge can be done along the scenic canal, with a café and award winning pub just around the corner. Hebden Bridge is a thriving town recently voted the UK's most unspoilt and best independent shopping town.
Originally Hebden Bridge was seen as a "Hippie Hideout" but as the town has changed so has it's residents and visitors. It is now becoming increasingly cosmopolitan and bohemian as artists, performers and the LGBTQ community started following in the footsteps of the first hippies. The town is becoming increasingly popular with tourists/walkers/bikers etc. Furthermore, Hebden Bridge has recently been voted the UK's most unspoilt and best independent shopping town.
  • Lovely stay at Calderside Cottage, so nice to get away from the current uncertainties of life! The cottage feels so homely, we really wanted to stay longer! • We really loved our stay at Calderside Cottage, the house was absolutely lovely and homely and perfect for us as a quiet retreat for the night to take our dog on some local walks and take in the beautiful views of the surrounding area. The house was spotlessly clean, you would not know the house accepts dogs! The little touches and nice artwork around the house were really cool and added to homely feel. We had a walk up to Stoodley Pike and next day to Hardcastle Crags (both of which a 10 min drive to) We would definitely recommend for a quiet night away. Alex was a great host, we had no issues with the house but was always on hand to help if needed with quick responses to messages and helpful info offered. We plan on coming back very soon!

Halifax Town Centre is also a short walk away (20-30 minutes), follow The Cats Steps route for a bygone stroll. The cottage is situated on a peaceful street, with parking directly outside and a friendly local pub just next door. If you’re in need of a restful break I can’t commend Olivia’s place enough. Genevieve2020-01-23T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic! Don’t go for a hotel as this is the far superior option. Bianca and Craig were wonderful hosts and their house was clean, interesting and affordable.

  • Stayed for 2 nights to attend funeral in area. Briana and Craig helped ensure it was as stress free as possible with a fabulous stay with special touches

    Niamh2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • This place is amazing- spotlessly clean, spacious, cosy warm in winter, and fantastic amenities. The bathroom shower is truly the best I've experienced in years of traveling the UK. Craig and Bianca have a truly stylish home, and the extra touches and effort they go to to make you feel comfortable is beyond the expected. We stayed for Christmas week, and found a decorated tree, Christmas hamper and filled stockings for our kids upon our arrival. Just magic! Will definitely stay here again the next time we visit family. Thanks so much Bianca and Craig!

    Sophie2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic! There's not much more to say, this hits the spot in terms of the stated aim of luxury, comfortable, homely and being a bit special. Loved the place - the rooms were spacious, warm and inviting. The facilities were as much as you could ask for and the location was just what we wanted. I'd thoroughly recommend, but then I might find it booked up next time I want to visit.

Attached to Little Nook Farm, the cottage is the perfect base to escape city life. Located in the beautiful Pennine countryside, it is situated on the edge of the Calderdale way above Hebden Bridge, with stunning views over the hilltop village of Old Town, and across the valley towards Heptonstall. The perfect location for walking or cycling on the moors and surrounding area, and we are approximately one mile from the centre of Hebden Bridge.
Little Nook Farm is the home of Gareth & Siobhan. Their home is shared by the resident horses, whom are more than happy to have an ear scratch or a head stroke. There are also numerous chickens and ducks, and the farm pets; Otis, the dog and Milo, Gerty & Chester, the friendly farm cats. The cottage has an open plan living and dining area, which includes a wood burning stove to supplement the electric heaters. A beautiful cast iron spiral staircase leads off the living area to the mezzanine, which houses the sleeping area and en-suite shower and toilet. The kitchen area has a fridge, electric hob, small oven, toaster and microwave. Pots and pans, cutlery and a basic range of condiments are provided. Washing and ironing facilities are available upon request. Tea and coffee are provided to ensure your break starts off perfectly with a brew on arrival. Free Wifi is available. There is a TV, DVD player and Google Chromecast to provide entertainment during your stay. Well behaved dogs are welcome; however we request that you let us know that you are bringing a doggie friend when you book.
  • We had a lovely time at Little Nook Farm. The place was so wonderfully cosy, especislly with the stove lit and with the wind and rain howling outside. The views from the panoramic windows are incredible, looking out over the moors to Heptonstall and Stoodley Pike (which we walked to fron the cottage, about 9.5 miles round trip). We love this part of the world and Little Nook Farm is the ideal place to enjoy it from!

  • This was such a unique place, we loved the cost vibe of the cottage, spectacular views, adorable tiny house atmosphere but lacking nothing. Beautiful location and short walk/drive into Hebden Bridge where there was so many different boutiques, bars and restaurants to choose from. Would definitely love to come again!

A traditional weavers cottage in the hill top village of Midgley overlooking the Calder Valley. An ideal location for hill walking, fell running, cycling or just relaxing in a beautiful setting. A short walk away from Midgley Moor with it's historic standing stones and burial chambers, or a short distance from Hebden Bridge with it's independent shops, cafe's and restaurants. Ideal for a weekend away in a traditional Yorkshire Stone cottage with mullion windows. Well behaved dog welcome.
66 Towngate is a cosy cottage with underfloor heating downstairs. The house is practical and comfortable. The views are absolutely stunning and although the cottage is just below the moor, access to Hebden Bridge and Mytholmroyd is very good.
Midgley is a small hilltop village. The people are very friendly. You will meet the locals, dog walkers, mountainbikers and horse riders. The local shop is run by very helpful volunteers from the area. Next to the shop is the community room which is open at times for tea and cake or an evening talk or quizz.
  • We had a lovely stay in the cottage! A lovely place to stay and great value! Will definitely be back.

Enjoy time away in my beautiful large peaceful attic bedroom. The room is light and south facing with fantastic views over Hebden Bridge. Just a few minutes walk into town or woods. Tea and coffee making in your room. En suite wc and sink. Longer stays welcome. If you are using instant book please tell me a bit about yourself at the same time and the reason for your visit.
I live in a beautiful Victorian terraced house on a quiet street with easy access to town and country. My house is spacious, welcoming and well equipped and you will feel at home when you are here. Also the room is beautiful and private and the views are spectacular.
Hebden Bridge needs no introduction! I live here not only because of its physical beauty but also because of its culture, people and access to nature. The woods are literally five minutes walk from my house but it's also only 10 minutes to walk into town and experience life there. Plenty to do during the day and evening: cafes, theatre, wine bars, cinema, fair trade shopping, pop up arts events; festivals ; Trades Club. Or just sit by the river and enjoy the water and the people who pass by. Great food for vegetarians, vegans and carnivores both here and in our neighbouring town of Todmorden.
  • Quiet and comfortable night in a lovely home. Highly recommend!

    Daniel2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • This is a really spacious room with a jaw-dropping view which has to be the best thing to wake up to. It was also warm and cosy which is important considering much of the week it was around freezing outside. Liz was thoughtful and considerate of my needs. This is lovely if you are looking for somewhere peaceful and quiet, and central to the town.

    Adele2020-03-07T00:00:00Z

The Sanctuary flat is part of Westwood Christian Centre, a 19th century church converted into flats.
Beautiful stained glass window, oak panelled ceiling; full central heating. Ideally for 1 -2 people but can take up to 3 (1 double bed settee, 1 single chair futon). Large studio flat on 3 levels within original Sanctuary of Westwood. - kitchen and dining area; main living area & upper level; separate bathroom (with a bath).
We're set in a lovely little community up on a hill, overlooking the village of Slaithwaite.
  • This was the perfect place for a tranquil weekend. Great location, value for money, and has everything you need. The kitchen is simple but had everything necessary to cook all my meals. There were no spices/seasoning so remember to bring your own. I couldn’t find a chopping board or good knife - but I’m sure Nikki would have responded if I felt I needed these! The bed was big and very comfortable. Will be coming back again in the future!

Nobel Nook is named as such due to the history of the property. Sir Geoffrey Wilkinson (Nobel Peace Prize winner) once resided here. The property has been sensitively restored over the years with its 1853 heritage in mind. stone floors, high ceilings and decorative features remain. The basement apartment style has followed suit and has undergone a full renovation in Spring/summer 2019.
There is an indoor bike store for up to 4 bikes should you be exploring the town on two wheels!
Todmorden is described as a market & mill town at the very end of the Calder Valley, boasting a unique selection of shops, stalls, bakeries, cafe's & bars. Within a 30 minute walk you can find yourself on the Pennine Way looking over vast views of the beautiful town & surrounding greenery & farmland.
