This quaint custom built cabin is on our 3 acre homestead. Located on Vashon Island in the Puget Sound just a short ferry ride from downtown Seattle. Repurposed wood treatments and windows make this space an architectural delight. Our farm hosts a flock of laying chickens, a farm cat named Lucy, a large vegetable and herb garden, a small orchard and grounds to enjoy wildlife. Please note the cat does not go in the cabin. She lives in the farmhouse and garage and keeps the mice at bay.
The 200 square foot cabin has a luxurious queen bed (with brand new Saatva mattress), small sitting area, bathroom with shower and private front porch. It is equipped with a small refrigerator, electric tea pot, and a press pot. Tea and coffee and half and half are kept in the cabin. The cabin is a 80' from the main farmhouse giving you lots of privacy. Please note the cabin is not child safe or handicap accessible. We cannot host babies or toddlers. We do not serve breakfast.
Vashon Island is safe rural community filled with art, farming and foodies. The Vashon Chamber of Commerce web site is a good overview of visitor opportunities. The Beachcomber publication "Destination Vashon" is a must have resource for visitors. It can be viewed online by visiting The Vashon Beachcomber website or picked up in your room.
  • This place was adorable! So nice and cozy. Super close to downtown and had everything you need in the place basic dish set items, tea, mini fridge, and local trip recommendation. Perfect for a weekend getaway.

  • CABIN OF MY DREAMS! This place is perfection. It is a perfect example of shabby chic. It has a rustic cabin vibe yet with beautiful decor and the architecture is simply stunning. I was in awe of all the detail in this cabin, the pictures don't do it justice. Natalie has created something very special here. The bed is a dream. The shower is very roomy with great hot water and pressure. Wifi works great. The porch is like stepping back in time, and the grounds are just beautiful. This is also one of the cleanest places I have ever stayed in. You have ultimate privacy, it is SO peaceful. There are so many thoughtful touches that Natalie has left for you. The coffee was awesome. My only complaint was not having more time here! We didn't want to leave. If you want to venture out on the island, the location is absolutely perfect, central to everything and yet still somehow feels world's away. I will be back for sure.

  • This was my first Airbnb experience and I really enjoyed the small cabin, perfect for a cozy place to stay while enjoying the island, I’d definitely stay here again, the only thing even remotely of an annoyance was that the side grill wasn’t working while we were there but that being the only downside makes this place perfect, all enmities listed were there and the property it’s on looks especially nice id definitely recommend this for a group of 2 or less its the perfect size

Beautiful waterfront location. Your rental is the downstairs unit of a duplex located on Beach Drive in West Seattle. We are a mile from Alki Beach and Alki Avenue restaurants and shops.
There are stairs on the side of the house to the lower unit. Beach can be accessed from the deck. The kitchen has an oven, stove, microwave, refrigerator/freezer, keurig coffee maker with K-Cups, pots/pans, plates, glasses utensils. A charcoal BBQ is available for use on the deck.
Beach Drive is vibrant, but not as hectic as Alki Avenue. There are many restaurants and shops along Alki Avenue and up the hill on California Avenue. There are a few parks within walking distance, and the Seattle Waterfront is 20 minutes away.
  • Brian &Amara’s place is amazing. We were there in winter. The place was warm and cosy and the view amazing. We felt like we were on a cruise ship.Nothing was too much trouble for our host.Would recommend it strongly

  • We spent 4 days at this beautiful Airbnb to celebrate our 20th anniversary. The view of the Puget Sound was ah-maz-ing and one of my absolute favorite things to do was just sit and watch the water change from pink to blue to green to gray to orange and to black. There were seals and sea lions, all kinds of birds and ferries and tug boats going by. The main strip of Alki was an easy walk with lots of restaurants and coffee shops to enjoy. The place itself is fantastic. So clean and stocked with everything you might need to enjoy this little hideaway. If you are looking for an awesome little getaway, go here. You won't be disappointed.

  • Should you choose Brian and Amara’s Beach House you will fall in love. Super location, super view. Very clean and everything else you might need. Booking at their place is a must! We will return for sure.

  • As beautiful as the pictures! A wonderful place to stay and great hosts.

  • Brian and Amara’s place was one of the best air b&b stays we have ever had. The amenities were great, including the well equipped kitchen that had anything and everything we needed for cooking. The view was outstanding as well. It was nice to get out of the hustle and bustle of the city at night and come home to you quiet and quaint west Seattle. We hope to make another trip back in the summer for some hiking!

  • This is a cute little bunk house on a beautiful property. The hut is near neighborhoods, but feels very private. We would definitely stay here again!

  • We had such a relaxing stay at Jenny’s place. The space was the perfect size for a couple + a small dog and was very tastefully decorated. It provided the perfect amount of comfort while still allowing us to feel close to nature. We stayed plenty warm with the space heater and heated mattress pad. I would recommend this jungalow to anyone!

  • This place is so cozy and cute! My husband and I enjoyed sitting on the porch and watching the beautiful nature around us! The heated mattress was a life saver because it was absolutely freezing in February. We enjoyed our cozy stay and will look Jenny up again next time we head up to Seattle! I highly recommend 🥰

Our eco-friendly tiny house and bath cabin is an oasis amid towering fir trees on beautiful Vashon Island. Experience small house living first hand. We are 2 minutes from town and close to hiking trails. Our cabin with connected bathhouse is good for couples, singles, and small families. The cabin sleeps 3 with queen bed downstairs and queen bed in the loft. This property is earth-friendly and has toilet, shower and sink in a separate cabin connected by an outdoor walkway.
The sleeping cabin has one queen bed on the main floor in a built-in alcove with another bed in the sleeping loft. It has incredible views of giant fir trees and has a kitchenette with fridge, microwave, toaster oven, coffee maker. The bathroom is in the separate cabin connected by a 10 foot walkway. The toilet is a high-end composting toilet system that flushes with water and feels similar to a regular toilet but is best for our remote location. We have put a lot of effort into creating a beautiful detailed space that has very little impact on our unique island environment. Be aware that there are stairs to enter the cabin and a ladder to the loft if you are considering mobility issues. This space is best for 2 adults and 2 children, 3 adults, small families, couples or individuals.
We are 7 minutes from the Northend ferry, 2 minutes from town and the property is bordered by a Vashon- Maury land trust property that has many linked hiking trails just feet away. It is a great romantic getaway and is also perfect for bikers looking to bike the island for the weekend. We are also close to Dragon's Head Cider headquarters. They have an amazing property with tasting hours on the weekend.
  • Wonderful cabin in the woods! Lots of lovely touches and local tips. A lot of thoughtfulness went into the design of this cabin. It is so very sweet and cozy and the host was a great communicator! Would absolutely recommend!

  • Very cool space, close to town and yet quiet/secluded. Beautifully built and appointed. Excellent communication from Kristen.

    Joe2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Kristen’s tiny cabin exceeded our expectations with so many thoughtful touches. There was a kind note as we arrived to welcome us, plenty of games, books, a microwave. So many little amenities that were unexpected. Would stay there again and again.

    Sarah2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Super clean, cute, and cozy! Perfect home base for our little family of four to explore the island. Would definitely recommend!

    Amber2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Kristen’s place is easy to find, and feels secluded and private. Once you are there you might not want to leave; craftsmanship, comfort, indoor/outdoor living, and a well-thought out space. What a treat.

  • Our stay at the Last Resort was lovely! Perfect place to cosy up and read a book or play board games, which we did! The view is absolutely incredible and being able to sit it the hot tub while looking at the view was the cherry on top.

    Anna2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • This place is fantastic. The view is amazing and it’s just the right mix of rustic and comfort for everyone to enjoy. It’s the best hot tub view you will ever get and the wood stove really makes it cozy inside. We got some much needed rest on this stay.

  • Cozy cottage in the woods. The beach is just below, walking distance. Downtown vashon is about 20 min away and is the sweetest town to explore. I will definitely be back soon!

    Kimjoy2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Simple perfection with everything you need to just relax and enjoy the peace and quiet!

    Tim2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • This place was absolutely incredible. The view of the water from the hot tub was beautiful. The cabin has lots of fascinating little touches like a stained glass window, reclaimed wood, and a beautiful tile entryway. Vashon is a quaint island with a small town feel and we spent the entire day exploring the area before coming back to relax in the hot tub. It really has a very secluded feel to it where you can escape from the rest of the world.

Reconnect with nature in this wood-crafted, sunlit cottage. Gaze out at Puget Sound and The Cascades; watch boats drift by from bed, eagles soar while you dine, or cozy up to the fireplace with the mountains as your backdrop. Leave your cares behind!
Vashon Island is a beautiful, enchanting place, and our guest cottage is set at one of the most gorgeous spots on the island. The view literally takes your breath away; it looks out at Puget Sound, the Cascade mountains, and sunrises that astound. Nestled above the water on a high bluff, the cottage is located near the bottom of a wooded, dead-end road. It is kitty corner from our house, so the view out the front windows is unimpeded by the house, yet close enough to stop by if you have any needs, questions, or just want to say hello. Public access to the rocky beach below is just a short walk down the road. Bald eagles regularly soar by, seals call, and occasionally a pod of orcas will bound through the passage. You can make yourself cozy indoors and out. The cottage is beautifully built with wood everywhere, cathedral ceilings, large windows, skylights, and a peaceful feel. Make a cup of tea and sit by the fire as you watch the boats drift by. Outdoors there are benches (shared with our house), and greenery all around. The cottage radiates an inviting warmth which permeates your being; the perfect place for a writers retreat or relaxing, romantic getaway. You could never leave this oasis and be very happy, but if you are inspired to explore, Vashon is well worth venturing out. Take walks in one of the many parks and wooded areas, or for miles along the beach; bike around the island roads, or take a mountain bike ride on the extensive state lands trails; go visit art galleries, antique shops and restaurants; try horseback riding, or rent a kayak on Quartermaster Harbor. One may find it hard to believe such an island paradise is so close to two major cities (Seattle and Tacoma), but time seems to have stopped on Vashon, and it's a magical place to be. Come and visit, and let the spell work on you!
The cottage is adjacent to the main house, and shares the yard and garden. It lies on a dead-end road; walk up the wooded road just one mile and you will arrive in town. Walking down leads to the beach where you can stroll for miles during low tide.
  • A perfect place for a quiet, relaxing getaway. The cottage was extremely clean and very comfortable. It offers amazing views and close proximity to town. Looking forward to my next visit!

  • We loved our time in this beautiful garden cottage. We also enjoyed the beautifully decorated bedroom, bathroom, thoughtful breakfast items and amenities. The bed was quite comfortable. We especially enjoyed meeting our hosts this time and taking a tour of early Spring blooms in the garden. The bouquet which emerged from that walk was gorgeous! This is a quiet location that feels like a cozy, well appointed treehouse in the forest. We hope to return soon. Thanks for everything! Diana and Warren

  • Marjorie's place is a charming and well-appointed guest cottage in a lovely garden. Very nice sheets and bedding. My only regret is that I was on the island for a seminar and couldn't spend more time in the cottage and visiting the gardens. I'd love to come back to stay again someday.

    Jenny2020-03-01T00:00:00Z

  • We are repeat guests at Marj and Nick's oasis and our second stay was just as lovely as our first. Upon arrival, we were greeted by their sweet pup Rhodie upon arrival and it was great to catch up with our friendly hosts. The property is beautiful and our stay was relaxing and exactly what we needed to take a break from busy city life. We loved the comfy bed, thoughtful touches, skylight views, and the central location that was close to wineries, restaurants, and beautiful parks. Thanks again for such a wonderful stay! We hope to be back again in the near future.

Our place is just a few miles from the Fauntleroy/Vashon ferry terminal, and minutes from the town of Vashon. Tucked snuggly on the West side of the island, the cabin looks west over Colvos Passage. The cabin itself is essentially a spacious studio-- one large room with a loft, a small kitchen, and bathroom. A queen size bed is in the loft, and the couch comfortably sleeps one person. The bathroom has a large clawfoot soaking tub, and there is an outdoor shower. It is extremely cozy!
  • One of the best Airbnb experiences I have had! The cabin was perfect—homey, very clean, charming, amazing view, awesome tub, tons of books—the list goes on! I would highly recommend staying here. Great for a solo retreat or a romantic getaway. Brita was very communicative and helpful.

    Kim2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a relaxing and lovely time! Would definitely return :)

    Saralyn2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • The Westside Cabin was just stunning. I'm going to echo what we wrote in the guestbook there--it truly felt like we were forest bathing but doing it from the comfort of a cozy home! We loved the big tub. Sleeping up in the loft is lovely. There were lots of books and games and we made especially good use of the cribbage board. Plus, Brita gave us such good recommendations for places to eat. We didn't make it down to the beach this time because we were too smitten with the cabin itself, so we'll have to just go back sometime!

    Laura2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • My second time staying, and my first choice for the perfect Pacific Northwest cabin. It's such a quick trip from Seattle, but you'll feel a million miles away. This is the west side --quiet side of Vashon Island! And the clawfoot bathtub, with a nature view, is a dream.

    Rhia2020-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • Second visit as amazing as the first! Moon on the water! Bath tub of dreams.

    Moorea2020-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing place to retreat and unwind! The space is peaceful, beautifully decorated, and stocked with thoughtful touches. The tub and bathroom are perfect - long soaks with the windows open to hear the forest and ocean tide were our favorite! Brita was quick to respond and super accommodating. We would definitely stay here again!

    Lily2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second trip back to Brita’s place, and her cabin is really one of the best in the PNW. Great communication, quality build, strong WiFi and good cellular signals. Can’t wait to come back!!

    Alice2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • This little cabin is a gem; very cozy and was super nice in the rain. We could see the trees around us swaying in the wind during a rain storm and hear the sound of rain drops on the roof. The kitchen is small but has everything you need including stove burners, oven, hot water boiler, coffee maker, and pots pans dishes. Bring your smart phone and you can play music through the Sonos app on their speakers too. Anytime we had any questions Brita was quick to respond to us. The bed is cute and cozy up in the loft but very squishy so could be good or bad depending on your back. Overall, it was a lovely stay for my husband and I and close enough but far enough away from everything. Also the bath is amazing and has the best view so do make use of it!

Stunning two-bedroom home high above the sound on 2.74 acres of waterfront with spectacular views. The house is in an idillyc park like setting with full deck, extending into the sunset. Previously owned by a famous artist, the property is a mecca for creativity, relaxation and watching wildlife including resident deer and bald eagles nesting in the trees. The first bedroom has a queen bed, and the second bedroom has two twin beds.
The house has been professionally decorated by Lemon Design Editing with art curated by Mary Angela. Brand new beds and bedding. Aero-beds available as needed.
Home is in a serene, secluded, setting with gorgeous views of Colvos Pass. You can access a beach about 1/2 mile from the home.
  • Wonderful view, relaxing atmosphere, great home!

    Jennifer2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Great house with stylish details. Beautiful sunset view and deers out the window to entertain the kiddos.

    Megan2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Such a beautiful, airy, cozy, and inspiring place. The views are completely magical, the space is exactly as pictured, the kitchen is well-stocked, and Shannon & Jon are perfect hosts. It felt like a true retreat --- the beach is a short walk from the house, and we saw deer in the yard every morning. We had a power outage for a couple of hours during our stay, and Shannon & Jon checked in with us immediately, updated us on electric company's progress in repairing things, and even had a neighbor check in on us in person. We would absolutely come back.

    Hannah2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • This place was beautiful and just enough of a get away. The space is beautiful and well equipped with kitchen items, bathroom supplies, and linens. The large windows in the living room were so beautiful to sit and look out at the water. It was about 15-20 minutes from most things in town (restaurants, bars, grocery stores, etc.) which was a bit of driving on some dark and windy roads, but not too far.

    Christina2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • This is a gorgeous setting and a relaxing quiet place to enjoy any type of weekend. Everything is exactly as described. The rave reviews are no surprise to me. We enjoyed the sweeping view and wraparound deck. Highly recommended.

  • Amazing hosts! Shannon and Jon make sure that you are taken care of; they give such awesome tips on what to do when you're in the area, super hospitable and overall just awesome. The house itself is gorgeous, very clean and has a breathtaking view of the Puget sound. Would recommend for anyone looking for a getaway from the city or anyone looking to decompress and enjoy nature.

  • What a gorgeous, perfect home for a peaceful getaway! The house itself is beautiful and the views are just stunning. We had our first kidless getaway (we have a 15 month old) with friends, so we wanted nothing more than to cook meals (and eat them hot and all together!) and just chill...mission accomplished! We found the kitchen to be well equipped and the waterfront view was wonderfully mesmerizing and peaceful. Overall a great experience!

    Brynn2019-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • This house is exactly as described. It is very nice and the beds are super comfortable. The path to the beach is steep but not difficult at all. Be forewarned if you hope to eat outside, you must be quiet because the neighbors are just feet away. I would definitely rent there again.

    Cloud2019-08-25T00:00:00Z

A cozy little yurt nestled towards the front of a 10 acre property. The yurt itself is the first finished spot on this newly purchased property (and priced accordingly!). There is no running water but fresh bottled drinking water is provided and their is an adjacent shower house with an instant hot water shower and saw dust composting toilet, not to mention beautiful country spaces to wander through.
A beautiful 20ft yurt. Perfect getaway from busy city life! No tv or WiFi (WiFi is actually coming soon ha) distractions. The property is situated adjacent to a corner store (well separated by trees and fences!), and it’s just a short drive down to the local restaurant and beach.
  • Awesome place once again! The nights are getting colder but the fire helps and the little electric heater was a blessing in the early mornings!

  • This place is the best AirBnb we've ever stayed in. The space is so cozy, but with SO much elbow room. The outdoor spaces are beyond relaxing -- had the weather cooperated, we would have been outside the whole time. Even still, with the view over the water and watching the wind whip things around, it was an amazing stay. The hot tub is fantastic, too! We'll be back 100%.

Read. Write. Sleep. Listen. Welcome to the island of Vashon. We are a ferry bound island that lies between Seattle, Tacoma and the Olympic Peninsula. Awaken to songbirds not traffic. The cottage is a completely separate space with its own entrance. Kitchen and bath in main house 20 paces away.
You've found your own little Magic cottage! With private entrance, sea of a lawn, bird song filled woods beyond, you won't want to leave. Sink deep into your new gel foam bed. Wifi (password on House Rules page) and lots of privacy. Dutch door opens to our garden. Tub and shower a few steps away in the main house. Fully stocked kitchen available for use. There is a separate fridge for your use. Well mannered flea free pets are welcome. $10 per night pet fee. Discounted pet rate for longer stays. See house Rules for more details.
We are on a quiet arc of a street just off the main road that runs from one end of our island to the other. 5 minutes from Seattle and Southworth ferry terminal. The only traffic jams are the occasional Neighbor turkeys who occasionally stroll. No, really. You have landed on one of the sweetest isles in the South Sound. Deep forests to explore, miles and miles of coastline to kayak, a great beach with wonderful view of Rainier and mountain views from every side of our island. Hiking maps available. Peace will ring in your ears, long after you've gone back home. There are First Friday Art Crawls, live music at several venues and several great restaurants - try Snapdragon for incredible baked goods fresh and the size of your head, and a super sweet watering hole in the evening hours when you can find all the locals gathered at their adjacent bar, Home Sweet Home. One of the best Thai restaurants in the NW- May Kitchen-a true gem. Also notable: the Sugar Shack, fab take out prepped by a British chef who has a differnet special every night, Gravy, American cuisine with a Southern influence, and Bramble House, our date place restaurant. Many other culinary delights to explore.

Next to the beach in a quiet friendly neighborhood on beautiful Bainbridge Island. 10 minute walk from Pleasant Beach Village with restaurants, a bakery, small grocery store, etc. On the Kitsap Transit bus line. Separate from the main house with its own entry - full privacy. Firepit for an evening roasting marshmallows. Check our guidebook for local info!
Space is on second floor, exterior stairs for access. There is no shower or kitchen in the space.
A 10-minute walk away is Lynnwood Center. This is a wonderful village that includes a small spa, hair salon, farm store, a small grocery store, several restaurants, frozen yogurt, shops and more. At the end of the road (400 feet from the house) is the popular Lytle Beach. It is one of the few sandy beaches on Bainbridge Island. Located on Rich Passage you can watch the ferry go by, start a fire for an evening watching the sunset or look in the tide pools for crabs. Downtown Winslow (great shopping, more restaurants, etc.) is a 10 minute drive away. There are also over 1000 acres of protected "parks" on the island. Including the Grand Forest which has miles of trails for walking or biking. Seattle is a 35 minute ferry ride away. The ferry is a beautiful relaxing experience. The ferry has a galley that serves food, beer and wine. If you are lucky you might get to see the Orcas in Puget Sound during your trip!
  • We loved staying at this loft guest house. The location was perfect and easily accessible (10 min walk) to a grocery store, restaurants and a cute old-time movie theatre. The Airbnb was very comfortable and private. The owners were also very quick to respond to any questions we had. Would highly recommend.

Masterfully designed tiny home ideally located in the heart of the island, minutes from coffee shops, restaurants & the beach. Prepare breakfast in a sunlit kitchen & dine at the window bar overlooking peaceful, lush gardens. Re-energize yourself after exploring the island by taking a nap on the bedroom window seat or bask in the sun on the private deck with your favorite novel & a cup of coffee. Cook out on the grill as the sun sets, finishing the night under the stars next to a roaring fire.
We wanted to keep the environment in mind when creating the Little Red Cottage so we have used repurposed building materials and furniture throughout the cottage as well as installing a top-of-the-line Swedish composting toilet. Though just 400 sq. ft, the spacious feel will wow you: it has a well-equipped kitchen with coffee (from our local roasterie) and tea provided so that you can enjoy a lovely cup at home. There is also a refrigerator, freezer, stove-top and microwave enabling you to prepare some meals in. In case you would like to dine out we have provided a list of restaurants and coffee shops for you to experience here on the island. Warm yourself by the gas fireplace as you watch your favorite shows on the smart tv, or let your writing juices be inspired at the antique writing desk looking over the beauty and serenity of the garden. Also we have provided a high quality mattress, fine linens and your choice of pillows hoping that you can come and rest well while you stay with us. We hope you enjoy our yard while you sit at your cafe table and chairs out on the private deck or by enjoying the hammock in the orchard.
We are in the very heart of the island: a 15 minute walk to the town center, or a 5-minute drive to the beach. Vashon is accessible only by ferry. The ferry docks are Fauntleroy Ferry Terminal, in West Seattle which docks at the North end of the island or Pt. Defiance Ferry terminal in Tacoma which docks at the south end of the island. The Fauntleroy ferry dock is a half hour drive from SeaTac airport and from downtown Seattle. The island is quite rural with the north end ferry landing being a 10 minute drive to the town center and the south end ferry terminal a 20 minute drive. The easiest way to get around the island is by car. We do not have taxi, Uber nor Lyft services on the island. I do have a contact of someone who periodically does pick up people from the ferry dock. Please let me know if you desire their services for they are not always available.
  • This place is actually perfect. Everything about it. Location and house were so awesome. Will definitely be back. Laura Beth was very helpful as well

  • Well decorated and comfortable accommodations. A great location for visiting all that Vashon Island offers. Serene setting that allows for rest and relaxation.

  • A sweet cottage on a peaceful pastoral setting. The space is just as described and the photos show. Very clean, modern, tastefully decorated with thoughtful touches. Pretty close to town yet in a private country setting. Would recommend staying here for your Vashon Island get away. Laura Beth is very prompt with communication and accommodating.

  • A lovely island and a cozy tiny house, the perfect place for a quiet retreat. Laura Beth's tiny house has all of the amenities we needed for our short stay during the Winter. This was our first time staying in a tiny house and it was surprisingly comfortable; although please note that if you are tall you'll need to watch your head! We're not tall (5'5") and it was just fine for us, but any taller and I think we'd have some issues. We decided to go car-free and though this is possible (we used the local bus and walked a lot) Vashon is hilly -- be prepared for some hiking. Close to the quaint downtown main street and tucked away on her charming property, the space affords you with peace and convenience. Wintertime is sleepy and not much is opened on Mondays and Tuesdays (while we were here) so it's best to bring some books and catch up on R+R. We had that in mind so it was perfect for us. The listing is accurate to description and photos and Laura Beth was very quick to respond to any questions we had. Thanks so much!

  • This is a wonderful little cottage very close to Vashon. The place was very clean and check in was a breeze. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

  • This was an absolutely fantastic night away in a perfect space. The house is quiet, warm, comfortable and clean and set in an absolutely gorgeous yard. The house has all the little extras like *nice* body lotion and even bandaids. The bed is very comfortable. We didn’t hear a peep from any one outside the house. It is easy to find and has easy parking. I really cannot wait to come back here!

  • This is by far one of the most beautiful, enjoyable and cleanest Airbnb properties we have stayed at! The view looking over the water had me in awe while the large yard was a vacation all its own for our dog. The location was perfect; quiet enough to feel like a getaway but close enough to local attractions to feel like part of the local community. Vacasa Washington was quick to reply to any questions I had and worked with us to give us a wonderful experience. I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking to be spoiled for a few days. Just don't book it for one of the many weekends we plan on going back! :)

Beautiful KVI Beach is a short walk, through a tree-lined neighborhood, from my cozy sunlit home. A 10-minute drive brings you to a new Center for the Arts, several individually-owned art galleries, two grocery stories, and a variety of regionally-recognized and locally-loved restaurants. My 100-year-old house has color and character, a wrap-around deck, views of water and Mt. Rainier, friendly neighbors, and lush landscape. A peaceful place for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers.
  • Our stay at Elizabeth's place was excellent. The house was exceptionally clean, had a great location and is a great place to relax and enjoy the island. Elizabeth was very friendly, and provided good coffee and snacks at the house. She provided many resources about the island, restaurants and sights to see. It was a lovely stay, and we hope to be back again.

  • Elizabeth was such an incredible host. Very informative on local places to go, available for any questions I had, and even provided snacks and breakfast items! Everything was organic and I can tell she cares about clean living. The home was cozy and inviting. I loved the wood stove and views of the water. I would definitely come back!

  • Elizabeth’s Artist Cottage was really great. She was a wonderful and friendly host. The kitchen was well-stocked with fresh fruit, eggs, yogurt, coffee, spices, cooking condiments, and way more- everything that you don’t want to bring on vacation. It was super clean, and the views from the main room were overlooking Puget Sound and west toward the Cascade Mountains. Bed was very comfortable. The wild deer wandering around and grazing just outside the window, added a very relaxing ambiance. I highly recommend this place! Five stars, without a doubt!

    Richard2020-01-09T00:00:00Z
  • Host provided a lot of very useful local knowledge - history, hiking, food, ferry schedule, etc. Nice place - very quiet, nice view, and I dug the interior styling. Will be my first choice when I return.

    Mark2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • This spacious and colorful getaway was so awesome I wish we could give Elizabeth 6 stars! The view is amazing, Elizabeth is super friendly and helpful, and so many thoughtful touches like a well stocked kitchen with nice knives and pots and pans to use, as well as travel mugs so the four of us could take hot drinks to the beach. We hope to come back!

Front of house, walk to the left of the house to the back doors. The airbnb access is in the back of the house through the smaller door. There is a key box next to the door where the entry key is kept. When you enter you will go up the steep stair case and at the top you have arrived. Welcome. Your space is private from ours. The door and stairs are about 24 inched wide.
Our small kitchen includes: induction hot plate, pans, micro wave, toaster oven, coffee maker, small refrigerator, nice size sink, cups, plates, glasses, silverware, kitchen towels, other utensils.
The space includes your own bath; tub & show combo, toilet & sink in bath, a small kitchen, a bedroom with a door, a living room area containing the kitchen, kitchen table and 4 chairs, futon, a closet where the vacuum and extra heater are located, an extra room with a single bed is off the kitchen area.
  • This place was small but cozy. The stairs were a little hard to climb with luggage but besides that the place is amazing. The beds were the best part! I would definitely stay here again!

**Note to guests: in response to COVID-19, we are now disinfecting surfaces between visits. We are also supplying disinfecting wipes for guest to use during their stay if they choose. We are keeping the space open, due to it's remote location - complying with social distancing is still easily accomplished. We recommend bringing your own food (refrigerator provided) if you would like to avoid the grocery store and restaurants.** Open to the elements, L.o.V.E. provides a unique experience with nature while staying at our boathouse on Quartermaster Harbor. Watch for seals, otters, herons, osprey diving for fish, and the occasional bald eagle perching on the pilings of the dock. Paddle around Quartermaster Harbor, and explore Judd Creek. Enjoy a glass of wine amid the water's cool breeze, all while taking in the view of Mount Rainier's snowy top. Relax in the hot tub during the evening, and observe the reflection of the moonlight on the water. It's the perfect place to unwind and adventure around the beautiful Vashon Island. Furnished boathouse at the water's edge of Quartermaster Harbor. We are located approximately 3 miles (5 minute drive) from downtown Vashon, and about 1 mile from Burton. Please note that our facilities include an outdoor shower and enclosed chemical toilet. Due to our proximity to the water, biodegradable soaps and shampoo are provided. Our walls are not insulated, and it is possible some sounds of nature (primarily birds) can be heard from inside. Also, in the heat of a summer's afternoon, it can get quite warm inside the boathouse. This is quickly remedied by opening both doors, and allowing a cool cross breeze - and/or keeping a window open. The space does not have central heating, and can get quite chilly in the fall and winter, and even on a cool summer’s night. A space heater is provided, but does need to be turned off while guests are away. We want to make sure your experience meets your expectations. Please consider this and other reservation details before booking. Guests are welcome to use the kayaks and hot tub. Paddles and life jackets are located on the property. It is possible to launch from both the floating dock and the shore, depending on the tide. Please use caution. Guests assume risk for all activities on the property. I love to connect with new people, but also respect desired privacy. We will let you set the tone, and are always available by phone or email. I'm happy to meet you upon check-in, but you are also welcome to arrive and check-in on your own. Vashon is a 20 minute ferry ride from Seattle and Tacoma, but feels like a world away from the hustle of the city. We hope you are able to relax, and enjoy the wonders of this beautiful island. The boathouse contains a fan for warm days, and a space heater for cool evenings.
  • Lovely place being right on the water’s edge.

    Rebecca2020-03-11T00:00:00Z

Private studio space in quiet wing point. the driveway is shared and you park near the door. This space is one level of a triplex. There can be noise such as footsteps from above. Wing Point is private and gourgeous, close to ferry and downtown
  • Everything you'd need all in a convenient location!

    Erin2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • At Kell's studio, you will get a lovely little kitchenette with a mini side-by-side, a small washer, a small dryer, a small microwave, and a toaster oven. The platform bed is firm but comfy with a down comforter. The bathroom is roomy since there's only a stall shower. You'll get a flat screen TV, but Bainbridge Island is so beautiful, you might end up like me and never even try to turn it on. The only problem I encountered was that I had no T-Mobile cell service at this location, and T-Mobile service on the island is spotty at best. But the free WiFi was great, so I survived!

    Cynthia2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • Kell's place was great! I brought my dog along with me and we came for a retreat away from the city. It was really close walk to Hawley cove park. Would definitely come out again for a retreat!

    Nancy2019-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • Even though we never personally met Kell during our stay, he was very responsive to my messages and txts leading up to the trip and during our stay. We did not have a vehicle during our stay and the studio was truly only a 10 minute walk from the ferry ( if even that ). I definitely recommend the short walk to beach in the morning during low tide, it was in the beautiful cove with Mt. Rainier in the distance. We also walked downtown, again just a short walk, and tasted the local beers, wine, coffee, and food. The she studio was exactly as advertised, very comfortable for 2 with ample seating, a lovely fireplace which quickly warmed the entire space, a large kitchenette offering a deep sink, microwave, fridge/freezer, toaster oven, coffee maker, some utensils, and a washer and dryer. The bathroom was roomier than expected for a studio. If you are a light sleeper, you could hear people upstairs, but from reading the other reviews I expected that and it did not bother us. Overall, great quality for the price and would recommend!

    Jes2019-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • The place was modern, efficient and very comfortable. It was a nice walk to town as well as the park and water near the house. Also very quiet. We enjoyed our stay and would be happy to go back!

  • Really cool space. Very clean. Fireplace is really nice to have. Easy walk to ferry/ downtown. Great shops supermarket. And if yer lucky a kitty named Branch...

    Tobias2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean, cozy, comfortable place in a great location. There's access nearby to a trail leading to the beach. It has a gorgeous view of Mt. Rainier and the ferries coming and going. Also a super easy walk to the museum, downtown, and the ferry terminal. A great option for a stay on Bainbridge, especially if you want to do it car-free!

    Sarah2019-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • My partner and I really enjoyed our stay at Kell’s. It was the perfect place for a cozy weekend on Bainbridge Island, the fireplace was a lovely touch. The studio is in a quiet neighborhood, and is within walking distances of the ferry and the strip of shops. Kell was very helpful and responsive during our stay. I’d be happy to stay here again or recommend it to a friend!

We've named our guest cottage the "Bavarian Cider Haus & Rail Road cottage". Come stay for a visit to find out why! Situated behind a key coded entry gate, the property enjoys a quiet country setting surrounded by forests, hobby farms and large acre properties. From the outdoor seating area, living room, and even the bedroom, guests can enjoy the wonderful territorial views including Colvos Passage and Mt Rainier is visible from various spots on the property.(when it's out ; )
The cottage has a spacious kitchen featuring a gourmet Viking stove and dishwasher. There's plenty of counter space for meal preparation, and guests can enjoy dining either in the main sitting room where a drop leaf table is located, or when weather is conducive on the outdoor dining space. Additionally, outside is a heavy gauge BBQ that is one of the best I've ever enjoyed cooking on. It can definitely pump out the BTU's. We are in the process of creating a "grotto" with firepit where guests can enjoy roasting marshmallows or just enjoy the evening in the seating area. The firepit is available to use during development, (just watch your step while on the uneven flagstones as they're not set permanently yet. ) The cottage has a full bathroom with a powerful jetted tub that will certainly be appreciated after a long hike or kayaking. The living area has a large high-end leather sofa with a hideaway bed large enough for two. There is also very comfortable oversized reclining loveseat which is great to cuddle up on and enjoy the wood fireplace (Why yes! ... the firewood is definitely provided - and you can even chop your own if you want to! ). When it's really chilly outside, the fireplace blower can be used, it definitely keeps the cottage warm and toasty. For additional warmth there is underfloor electric heat in kitchen and an electric fireplace in the upstairs bedroom. The upstairs bedroom configuration includes a comfortable queen sized bed, the electric fireplace which is thermostat controlled, rocking and sitting chairs, open style closet a few other pieces of furniture. The bedroom's large glass sliding door opens to a balcony where the expansive views can be enjoyed (hopefully a small table and two chairs will be place on balcony soon.) It's wonderful to have the door open with screen shut to enjoy a nice evening breeze and / or the sound of the wildlife at night (frogs, coyotes, owls.)
The location is really enjoyable for many reasons. The property itself is relaxing and when fall comes and the orchard is full of produce, you are more than welcome to snack on the various apple varieties and graphs from vine in front of the cottage. The immediate area has a great little waterfront convenience store down the hill which has gas and supplies but also a great "local" beer garden that serves many local beers and ciders along with pizzas, sandwiches and pub menu items. You can also rent kayaks by the hour there. Across the street is a lagoon with a boat ramp. Put your boat in, zoom under the bridge and your in Colvos passage and can zoom around the south Puget Sound. Another half mile from the store you'll find the "Olalla Winery". The owners are super great people and their winery has a tasting room and they do give tours. (They make wonderful wines too!) Additionally they host live music most every weekend. 1.2 miles in the opposite direction from our gate is Anderson Park. This is a hidden gem of a waterfront park. As you walk down to the water you'll enjoy a meandering pedestrian only road through a lush Pacific Northwest forest. You then find yourself at sea level and can enjoy exploring the beach and tidal area. A little further down the road is the beautiful event center called "The Edgewater House" where many weddings and celebrations are enjoyed right on the beach. Our location is very convenient to this event center in case you're finding yourself attending any festivities there. For more fun wandering around in forests, be sure to check out the Banner Forest 5 miles away. Be sure to keep your bearings as it is a very large park. It's a great place for humans, dogs, horses but no motorized vehicles. Expanding out a little further you'll find we're very conveniently located to: * Gig Harbor (7 mi), * Purdy (6 mi) * the Southworth Ferry terminal (8 mi) to Vashon or Seattle * Port Orchard (10 mi) * City of Bremerton (Ferry terminal to Seattle) and the many cool naval museums (18 mi). * Poulsbo (30 mi)

Welcome to Genrose Cottage. My name is Sara and I am so happy to be your host! Genrose Farm was a working horse farm but now offers visitors a sweet, comfortable, clean cottage to enjoy while you relax on our beautiful island. I live on three and a half acres of pasture, forest and garden. Lots of birds, my two sheep, a resident doe (Phillipa) and chickens will visit you. It is an easy 1 mile walk or bike to town and our favorite coffee shop is right up the street!
Genrose Cottage is just shy of 200 sq ft , with high ceilings and lots of light. Just right for two people to wind down and enjoy the island. The bath house is a few steps away, connected by a large deck. The cottage is equipped with a mini fridge, coffee maker, water kettle, and plate service for two. Complimentary tea , coffee and half and half will get you started. The floor of the cottage has radiated heat controlled by thermostat providing a warm ,, dry heat. Also provided is an oil heater for a touch up heat and there is also one in the bath house.
Genrose Farm is conveniently located in what is known as Center. We are 1/4 mile away from the Vashon Performing Arts Center; my favorite, historic, Roasterie Coffee shop and Minglemint, an organic grocery. Vashon town is an easy mile via the highway. There is always some thing happening in town! Look up vashonevents.com to find out. Many people bring their bikes to explore the island. Bikes and e-bikes are also available to rent in Vashon town.
  • The moment we got there she approached us and gave us a tour of the farm and the history and then showed us the place and gave us tips on the heating etc. it was cold and windy yesterday but the space heater and floor heating made it comfortable. The space has games and puzzles and many other great touches. A small kitchen area but we went into town and ate dinner at Ruby Brinks which I could not recommend enough. The bed, the cottage, the touches are first class, just wished we had more time, but will be back Such a great stay

  • It was a lovely room, very comfortable and an idyllic setting. Sara was very kind and her communications were clear. I would love to visit again

  • Sara's place is absolutely over-the-top charming and perfect. She's done such a good job decorating it, the building is beautiful, the bed is comfortable, the space is spotlessly clean, the location is super close to town but far enough to feel like a real vacation, and she's stocked it with coffee, teas, great books, etc. We'd stay here again for sure.

    Brittany2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • We so enjoyed our stay at sara’s Cottage! It felt worlds away from everything. The interior was stunning and we loved the view out to the pasture with chickens and sheep. This cottage is central to everything on the island! Thanks you sara for being such a thoughtful and helpful host ❤️

  • Lovely private spot. Perfect for a little getaway.

    Sarah2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Sara’s cottage is a lovely space! It feels really private even with a relatively close proximity to the house and I loved the view of the sheep in the morning. Sara was so considerate in her communication and and gave great directions on a blustery night on Vashon.

    Emma2020-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was so cute and cozy! My favorite part was waking up to the farm animals and wildlife all wandering around outside. I would love to go visit again when it’s spring or summer. Can’t imagine how much more beautiful it could get!

    Erin2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Sara’s Cottage was perfect for our overnight trip to Vashon. Not far from the main strip, but just far enough to feel secluded. Sara greeted us when we got there and showed us around the property. She also gave us some helpful recommendations.

The first timber frame home built on Bainbridge, our 900 sq. ft. guesthouse is a sustainably built retreat. Come live the simple life, with gardens, pond, fire pit, hen house, barred owls, and an ancient forest. Enjoy Brazilian cherrywood floors, a sundeck, full kitchen/dining/living room open floor plan, with tall rafters in the bedroom that is the entire second floor, and fresh eggs from the hens when they're laying. Enjoy the miles of trails proximal to our humble abode.
The private cottage is built from recycled first-growth timbers from Seattle's old Pier 90 and the original Tacoma Brewery. It's cozy and warm with a wood stove and baseboard heating in the winter and sun-filled windows in the summer. The sun deck is a lovely place to enjoy the sunsets, with peekaboo views to Puget Sound. We have a grill on the back deck for your use and a kitchen fully stocked with cookware for the chef who likes to cook away from home. Our Tesla charger is available for those who need to top up overnight, if you let us know in advance. The pond has a sitting area for meditation, and a back yard for playing croquet/badminton or for your daily yoga practice. We are filmmakers/explorers and have outfitted the space with treasures from our Himalayan expeditions, and also from furnishings given through our social experiment, The Buy Nothing Project. Liesl is the co-founder of the project and our property is a testimony to creatively sharing and living with a low impact on the environment. Take a book from our little free library. The ethic here on Bainbridge Island is to tread lightly on the Earth and share our bounty. If you're interested in learning more about the property and how we've forged a life here, visit our blog at pioneeringthesimplelife.org.
We live on the south end of Bainbridge Island, close to Lynnwood Center where there are shops and restaurants for all that you may need. We have a whole network of trails to access from our home and a quick walk down our road to the beach is well worth it, with a Pier to walk to close by.
  • Pete is Liesl’s guest house is a dream destination to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. I loved the wooden architecture and warm color tones of the guest house. I couldn't recommend this aribnb enough. I'm hoping to visit again sometime soon!

  • Definitely would recommend this property to all my friends. Great place to relax and enjoy the quiet surroundings.

    Jerry2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Liesl's place was a great spot for a quiet, relaxing getaway. It was about 10 minutes from the Bainbridge downtown, nestled in a gorgeous grove of trees. It was clean and had beautiful wooden beam accents. The bed was comfortable and the upstairs bedroom had nice natural light. Liesl even stocked the kitchen with delicious fresh eggs from the chickens on the property! Liesl was great to communicate with, responded quickly, and even let us check in early because there were no guests the night prior.

    Allison2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • This was an awesome stay. It was a little chilly when we got there, but thankfully it has adjustable heating. It is well stocked with any cooking or washing materials you may need. Liesl gave us detailed instructions on how to get there, which was great because it's a little tricky to find, especially in the dark! We would love to come back in warmer weather, when we can take advantage of the patio and grill. All in all, a great stay that instantly makes you feel at home.

    Jenni2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Liesl's guest cottage is a really lovely place to stay. It is on a beautiful plot of land within walking distance to the beach and the woods. The cottage is more spacious than I anticipated, with plenty of kitchen amenities as well as places to hang out outdoors. We really enjoyed this quiet spot (including the quiet sounds of the chickens) and its proximity both to nature and to the town.

    Meg2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Liesl and Peter's cottage is a wonderful space in a lovely private location with a little view through the trees to the water and great surroundings among huge cedars and other healthy greenery. Being there in the winter, it was perfectly cozy and soothing hearing the rain falling on the roof and nearby foliage. Kitchen area is well-appointed, there's tons of daylight through large windows. Liesl's suggestions for nearby forest and beach walks were helpful, and I enjoyed hanging out in the nearby Lynwood Center village with great food, coffee, wine, movie house, bakery.

Enjoy the scenic Olympic Mountains from the deck, or watch the tall ships engage in mock cannon battles. Bremerton Naval Shipyard provides a backdrop with the Pacific Fleet docked across the bay. Have your own boat? Moor at beautiful Port Orchard Marina only a 5 minute walkaway. A fast ferry to Seattle- no need for a car. Watch the sun set over the Olympics, go for a scenic drive to Hood Canal, or just relax and enjoy a bottle of wine from the deck.Go for a stroll along the waterfront boardwalk.
  • Nirvana is *lovely*. It's a beautifully designed studio space, with a kitchen a full-sized house could envy (that gas range!). You have everything you need for cooking & for Keurig coffee, but on our visit there was no kettle for tea. Everything else is there, high quality, thoughtfully chosen, and elegantly beautiful while still cozy. The Murphy bed is easy to pull done & put back up again (just pull done the black metal legs on the corners), and that mattress! Bliss of the perfect firm & solid with just the right welcoming cush. The only thing missing for us was some kind of end table for the reclining dual lounge chairs. We got the folding step-stool out of the closet to use as a nightstand at the head of the bed, so we could plug in my phone that we use as a bedside clock & alarm. The location is one block up a steep hill from Port Orchard's charming downtown, but note that the address is officially an Alley, not a Street. Google Maps knows it, but other navigation might not. The listing says "steps", but there are no stairs to get into the unit or inside it. The alley has a very steep bit between Nirvana and the easiest access street to downtown, and the city has some stairways on the hill. If you come by car, there is a wide driveway between Nirvana's door & the main house. Perfect parking! Many thanks to our gracious host. We were just on a quick overnight getaway (we used to live nearby, & were visiting friends), but we'll definitely be back!

  • Cozy space for one or two. Perfectly clean, and terrific view!

    Kjell2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely property with a lovely view!

    Elaina2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Incredible! We stumbled upon this tiny home and were so incredibly surprised by the craftsmanship and all the thoughtful details that were put into this tiny home. There is everything you need to cook a home cooked meal - full size frig, stovetop, oven, microwave and even a Kuerig coffeemaker. The view is unbelievable! On a clear day we were able to see The Olympics. And just seeing the lights sparkle off the Puget Sound at night was majestic! There is also a super comfortable Murphy bed that is in the living room. The only downside is we were only staying 1 night. We will definitely come back and stay a few days to really explore the area. Thank you so much Ron! Everything was perfect!!! A++

Olalla is just 12 mins to the "postcard" town of Gig Harbor. To the north 11 minutes to the waterfront & antique shops of old Port Orchard. Set on 6 pristine acres with a couple of horses and a multitude of chirping birds, this peaceful countryside cottage is close enough to get anywhere quickly.
The Cottage at Orchard Hill is perfectly clean, wonderfully private, and of course fully equipped! Enjoy a mini fridge/freezer, Induction cooktop, 55' Flatscreen TV with expanded cable, WIFI, Coffee, Snacks and a very comfortable Queen-Size bed. Tastefully charming with a friendly host, you may even decide to stay longer. But you'll definitely want to come back again!
Olalla is a quiet community that borders Colvos Passage, the maritime gateway between Kitsap Peninsula and Vashon Island, used mainly by local boaters and visiting whales. Al's market is a local favorite for renting kayaks and enjoying fresh sandwiches & yummy pizzas to enjoy while taking in the easterly facing views of the Puget Sound. Olalla Valley Winery is a mile away and draws thousands for it's Friday evening concerts, wine tasting, and wedding venues in an ideal natural setting. https://www.olallawines.com/ Bremerton Ferry to Seattle is also an easy ride to the Emerald City. Or enjoy the Southworth Ferry to West Seattle/Vashon http://www.wsdot.wa.gov/ferries/schedule/ScheduleDetail.aspx?departingterm=20&arrivingterm=9 https://www.wsdot.wa.gov/ferries/vesselwatch/TerminalDetail.aspx?terminalid=4 Or simply launch a rental kayak from Al's Market in less than 5 mins, and then return and get yourself a handmade pizza or an amazing fresh sandwich. The Sunrise Cottage is a perfect place to get a taste of the Kitsap Peninsula. Please do not hesitate to visit Banner Forest just 2 miles north. Allow about 2 hours for a two mile stroll. Thick woods teeming with wildlife, allow about two hours for a wonderful easy hike, with little grade change. But do be sure to make noise, it helps keep a visiting bear away. https://www.wta.org/go-hiking/hikes/banner-forest
  • Peace, quiet, comfort and cleanliness...Ruth’s place was a perfect place to escape to for a weekend away. The easy access to Gig Harbor and beach walking spots were extra bonuses to this spot. Not to mention the fact that Ruth was super easy to connect with for information or help of any kind. A perfect accommodation for two!

    Laurie2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • This was such a quaint single-room cottage for a quiet get away. Ruth has kept this place amazingly clean and high-quality. I highly recommend staying here for a weekend trip.

    Bryant2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • This location is one of the best in the Gig Harbor/Port Orchard area, Ruth's attention to every last detail is amazing. If she can accommodate something for you she will!

  • Great space, beautiful location.

    Angela2020-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • Well appointed, clean and comfortable space. Provided coffee, tea, eggs, english muffins and bananas on the room breakfast. Ruth was very friendly and a great host. I wouldn't hesitate to return.

    Steve2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • We very much enjoyed Ruth's cottage and most definitely would stay again. I would recommend this to anyone who wanted a quiet, quaint get-a-way. We used it as a jumping off point to explore parts of the Olympic Peninsula. The cottage was lovely and immaculate. Ruth provided eggs, butter, english muffins as well as a selection of coffees and teas along with delicious snack bars. The bed was super comfortable and we slept like babies. The shower provided an abundance of hot water, the heater kept us toasty in December. There was plenty of room to park close to the cottage. We had a fabulous visit and believe you would, too.

  • I'm so thankful we stumbled across your place when we were searching for a place to stay while visiting family over the holidays. The location couldn't have been more perfect, and your charming cottage made or a relaxing "crash pad" after family time was finished. 😊 Thanks again for sharing your beautiful properly with us and best wishes for a wonderful new year!

    Emily2019-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • The location is lovely and Ruth is even lovelier. The fresh pears she shared from her pear tree were delicious! The added touches of fresh eggs and English muffins was great. Would definitely come back! Thank you Ruth for your hospitality and kindness.

One of the three listings on our 10 acre property in the woods just a 5 minute walk up from the Puget Sound, this little cottage is the perfect weekend getaway or writer’s retreat.
The "Little House," as we have always called it, is the perfect quaint romantic getaway or rustic writer's retreat. It's cozy and completely self-contained with one bedroom, a living room that includes the original brick fireplace, and a spacious kitchen with washer and drier. The bathroom features a small (and short!) clawfoot tub. It feels the most 'urban' of our properties because it is closest to the gravel road, closer to the water, and is within sight of a few neighbors, including our great, great grandfather's craftsman style (c. 1897) home. It still feels private since it is tucked into the woods. Through the trees you can also see the water and, if you look carefully, the shores of Lincoln Park in West Seattle. This 1905 cabin used to belong to our Aunty Suzy and cousins Vicky and Brad, our family antique collectors, and we have lovingly decorated it with a number of their curio's. We are just 1.5 miles from the Southworth ferry dock; you can walk here in 30 minutes or drive it in 5. This is a peaceful spot and the ultimate in "slow-life" where you truly step back in time. A cozy place for a couple or perfect for anyone seeking solitude and a slower pace, surrounded by nature. While quite comfortable, we still hand-wash our dishes, bbq using charcoal and chop wood for the fireplace. Only 40 minutes from Seattle by ferry (25 minutes, if you happen to catch the direct ferry), this is a wonderful place to unhook from your fast-paced life and curl up with a book and a cup of tea in front of a roaring fire. It is a short walk downhill to the new Harper Pier which includes a water-level dock with swimming ladder; you can jump off into the brisk Puget Sound! Squid fishermen and local anglers also hang out on the pier or fly fish from the rocky beach. Next to it is a funky coffee shop that is open when it suits the friendly owners. ****************************************************************************************** PETS: **Please note: We do consider pets on a case by case basis. There are plenty of walking and biking trails and parks nearby. Quiet country roads wind through a natural, unassuming and semi-rural woodsy neighborhood with chicken coops and horse pastures. Drivers still wave at one another and when they pass pedestrians. The historic Harper Community Park has a delightful trail that drops down to the waterfront and a small picnic area and baseball diamond. Within walking distance: a small convenience store located at the Southworth Ferry dock (30 minutes walk) and a small and eclectic cafe 5 minutes down the hill at the new Harper Dock.
