  • Very happy here - loads of space, clean, in great location. Very basic, no frills. Loved the wood burner in the evenings. Good for my wife who is disabled with bad vision and mobility - all very accessible. The managing agents were very helpful when we requested a bigger TV and a side lamp - and sorted it out within 24 hours.

  • Priscilla and Ricardo are wonderfully warm and thoughtful hosts who took great care to ensure we were comfortable during our stay in their lovely garden annexe. The annexe itself is set in their beautiful garden with a light and airy conservatory that looks over a stunning landscape - keen birdspotters be aware, you will LOVE it here. It was spotlessly clean, full of thoughtful decorative touches relevant to Suffolk and really cosy. You’ll have everything you need in this Airbnb including a delicious breakfast in the morning cooked fresh and delivered to your conservatory, prepare to feel spoiled! I want to also mention that my fiancé and I got engaged the weekend we stayed and Priscilla & Ricardo went the extra mile to make it that little bit more special. They both are model Airbnb hosts and we certainly will be returning in the future!

  • Priscilla and Ricardo will give you a warm welcome to their beautiful annexe, where you will find all you need for a pleasant stay and exploration of the area. Breakfast is great too with a peaceful view of the garden and scenery beyond. We couldn’t fault it .

    Marina2020-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • Priscilla's place is like a little oasis. Priscilla and Ricardo provide a beautiful breakfast to enjoy in your own conservator while enjoying the beautiful views and birdsong. They are fantastic hosts and went beyond the call of duty to make sure we had everything we needed.

  • This is one of the best Airbnbs we have stayed at. Priscilla and Ricardo are friendly and thoughtful hosts who want the guests to enjoy this day as much as possible. The room is comfortable, private and spotlessly clean. We also enjoyed eating the breakfast which Ricardo brought to the door of our conservatory each morning. Highly recommended.

  • Fantastic stay at Tui Cottage - comfy and cosy with the log burner. Great location a short walk or drive from Snape Maltings and plenty of walks and pubs in the area. We enjoyed Aldeburgh, Dunwich and Southwold. Tui cottage is well equipped with everything in the kitchen, hairdryer, iron and ironing board, parking and lots of local recommendations. Thoughtful touches like shortbread and Prosecco in the fridge on arrival! Really tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. Easy check in and check out - Jess was super friendly and on hand at any time. We loved our stay and would fully recommend for Winter or Summer as both would be great.

Lots of little touches (bottle of wine, fresh eggs, milk, etc) made our stay extra enjoyable. Loved the log burner on a cold winter weekend. Thanks Jess!

  • Fantastic wee cottage for two. Beautifully presented - a real home from home. Great host & brilliant location.

    Wendy2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Wow, best Airbnb experience. From our initial communication with Helen through to checking out, I cannot rate this cottage highly enough. Helen was prompt to respond to us, checking in was straightforward and the place was easy to find. We received a thoughtful welcome and the cottage felt like a home from home. It had everything we needed, even the log burner was set up ready to light. We enjoyed a cosy night in and ventured across the road for dinner another night. 3 pubs within walking distance means you are spoilt for choice but the cottage is so nice staying in feels like a treat. The facilities are great, well equipped kitchen, spotlessly clean throughout, comfy bed and good size bedroom with upstairs loo and main bathroom downstairs. There is lots to do in the local area and information is provided in the cottage too. Already trying to work out when to return. Thank you Helen and Murray for a lovely weekend stay.

  • The bungalow was perfect for us with my elderly father in a wheelchair being all on one level with two en-suite rooms and our dogs with the enclosed garden. We couldn’t fault it for cleanliness, comfort, and amenities and location. There’s a good local pub, small grocery store and lovely common to walk the dogs. We would return as it’s s great base for exploring Suffolk.

You won’t miss it whilst you are visiting the village!
  • A totally amazing house. We spent 3 nights there for my 50th birthday with family who are a mixture of ages and our Labrador. The house is in a beautiful area surrounded by farmland which is very peaceful. Easy access to Aldeburgh which we know very well. The bedrooms were spacious and had great bathrooms. I really felt at home and could have stayed there a lot longer. Everything about the house was very well equipped and we can’t wait to return thank you

  • This house is immaculate and beautiful. We stayed over the Christmas period and the host left some special Christmas touches for our arrival. Communication is great and all very professional. There was 8 of us staying and there was plenty of room. The dog loved it too and it is just a short drive to the beach of aldeburgh which was glorious. There is everything in the kitchen that you need. the host had lots of games although we took our own - We had the most magical Christmas.

Our family first stumbled across Suffolk nearly twenty ago, as we searched for a coastal location within Britain where we could escape the city. What we found in Suffolk, was the ideal combination of relaxing, peace and quiet, and outdoor activities.
With two bedrooms, our newly refurbished cottage can sleep up to four people, with the optional extra of a cot for the newest members of the family. There is an upstairs bathroom with shower and toilet. No bath. The lounge comes equipped with a large flat screen television, DVD player and a collection of DVD's. Furthermore, to enable our visitors to stay online, we also provide internet access during your stay. The kitchen is well-equipped, with an electric oven and hob, fridge/ freezer with ice box, dishwasher, washing machine , and a dining area with seating for four people. At the rear of the cottage, there is a conservatory area with seating. We also allow visitors to bring a pet for a small additional cost.
Located in the centre of the Snape, the cottage is ideally located when in comes to exploring all of Suffolk's delights. The Snape Maltings is located nearby a five minute walk away , and here visitors can walk along the river Alde, purchase some local organic produce or antiques, and attend a concert in it's world famous festival hall. There are three pubs in Snape with excellent food. The local beaches and coastline of Suffolk can be explored following a short drive. Aldeburgh offers some beautiful local shops, and the opportunity to eat some of the best fish & chips in England. Snape has a lot to offer: a complex of shops, restaurants, galleries at Snape Maltings, three excellent village pubs, two directly opposite the cottage, fabulous riverside and coastal walks, and lots of opportunities for off road cycling near by. Snape is ten minutes drive from the pretty seaside town of Aldeburgh, with it's golf course, sailing and yacht clubs, gently sloping beach and fine restaurants, you can be assured of a really wonderful holiday.

Nice touches like eggs, cookies and fizz on arrival and a quirky Kiwi twist of tropical planting with tree ferns etc around the property! Great location too as nice and central so easy to discover lots of places in Suffolk. Highly recommended.

  • A purpose made barn in the grounds of Jess and Craig’s own large garden. It has been designed well and we didn’t feel overlooked was also handy to have free logs regularly filled up by Craig. The large modern wood burner is effective and fast at heating the place. We cooked every night and the kitchen had all the utensils and pots and pans needed. The TV only has freeview but there is a DVD player so I’d advise taking some DVDs with you as only one at the property. A very pleasant place to spend a long weekend - thoroughly recommended.

  • Stunning house the best I have ever stayed in. The area is breathtaking. Snape Maltings is a treasure and we felt privileged to find it. Barry was a wonderful host with quick responses. The house was incredibly well equipped with thoughtful touches. We felt very comfortable and could not find any fault. The bedrooms were beautiful and the en suite shower rooms spotless. We explored the local area and fell in love with the endless walks on our doorstep. Having a lovely pub on our doorstep was very convenient and found all the staff so friendly. You will not find a better place to stay I can’t wait to return, thank you Barry

  • My husband and I booked to stay at Kiln House over Christmas with our 3 children (1,3 and 9 years old). Barry couldn’t be more accommodating to us in the run up to our break, the house was spotless and is absolutely beautiful. The area is very peaceful and we have had the best Christmas spending time in Suffolk at Barry’s place. We hope to do the same again next year and possibly stay a little longer. Many thanks to Barry for your hospitality and letting us have the experience of staying in Kiln House.

  • This accommodation is excellent - brilliantly equipped, comfortable throughout and loads of space over the 3 floors. Barry was also a brilliant host with comprehensive pre-visit and arrival instructions. Outstanding in every way - if you're looking to stay at or near Snape Maltings, look no further than here.

    Christopher2019-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful find. When we booked we hadn't realised that the house was part of a complex with great shops, tea rooms and a pub! We found the house comfortable and with all the amenities you could require. The private courtyard was a safe space to take the dog out for a short stroll. Please note that the stairs inside the house are steep and narrow. Aldeburgh beach was about 10 minutes away and Thorpeness slightly further away. We hope that this won't be our last visit to Snape Maltings.

  • Great accommodation and if you are going to enjoy a concert it couldn’t be more perfect. You fall out of the door into the pub (or was it the other way around?) and so many great touches making this a wonderful break.

  • Kiln House is a lovely place to stay, very convenient for the Maltings and a great base for exploring the wider area. It was a lot bigger than I was expecting, loads of space.

  • Lovely accommodation - an old building with lots of character that has been renovated with all mod cons. Spacious bedrooms, two with ensuites, good kitchen space and everything you might need for a relaxing stay. The Maltings itself is really nice, with cafe and pubs nearby and pretty walks along the river. The guidebook has tips for lots to see in the local area, we managed quite a few and had a lovely time in Suffolk.

The barn has a small private, enclosed garden. During the colder months the log burner makes it a cosy place to stay any time of the year. There is WiFi and Netflix available.
The barn is close to lots of interesting places. Aldeburgh and and Southwold on the coast are 15 and 20 minutes away respectively. Snape Maltings, Minsmere, Thorpeness offer everything from shopping to great dog walks and bird watching. There are lots of good pubs, coffee shops and bakeries.
  • Trying very hard to find a negative but I seriously cannot. Farthings is spacious, spotlessly clean, comfortable and very stylish. Highly recommended.

  • Brilliant spot just off the Suffolk coast! Kate was very hospitable, ideal place to stay for a couple with dogs!

  • We really enjoyed our stay here. The place was lovely and clean, and quite stylish whilst being full of character. There were lots of leaflets available for various walking routes and attractions around the surrounding area which was a useful for finding new ideas for places to visit. Our stay was very peaceful too, with the barn set on a quiet road which was within an ideal walking distance up the road from Saxmundham for a range of cafes, shops and supermarkets. Would recommend!

    Thomas2019-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay! Fresh flowers on arrival. Cute little cottage with everything you need. Enclosed garden which was nice to sit in and good for our dog. Easy accessibility to Aldeburgh, Thorpeness and Southwold!

    Lorna2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • The photos do not do it justice. This is a spacious barn conversion with some top quality touches - goose down pillows and fabulously comfortable sofa and armchair - all very generous for a one bedroomed Airbnb. The location is fantastic- near all the best bits of Suffolk and only a mile away from a Waitrose! Kate and family are friendly, attentive and non-intrusive. The cycling in the area is fabulous and the local recommendations spot-on.

    Jo2019-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • Thanks very much Kate, we really enjoyed our stay.

  • Farthings Barn is a great place to stay from which to explore the Suffolk area, with easy access to Southwold and Aldeburgh. It is clean and comfortably furbished in a quiet and peaceful rural setting. It is spacious, yet cosy and added to the relaxation and enjoyment of our holiday. It is well stocked with everything you could need for a self sufficient stay, with a decent shower and a comfortable bed. The private garden was ideal for having an early morning coffee and there is ample space for parking. The open plan design and exposed wooden beams added to the impression of getting away from normal life for a bit. I would certainly look to book again if we were ever to return to holiday in the area in the future.

    Timothy2019-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • Expect a perfect, conveniently situated, well kept, delightfully comfortable place to stay within easy reach of all the best places to visit in that part of Suffolk. We stuck to Kate’s recommendations for coffee, beaches and food and we were not disappointed. Well done Kate and thank you. Marco.

Converted cart lodge annex on the edge of the village green. Well located for Snape , Aldeburgh and Woodbridge. Minsmere for bird watching, Tunstall forest for walking and cycling. Comfortable accommodation for relaxing after a day out and about.
Spacious sitting room, fully equipped kitchen with microwave and dishwasher. Bathroom with walk in shower and bath. Bedroom with super king size bed. Ample off road parking. (We have WiFi but do not list it as available because reception can be patchy although most guests have been able to connect to check emails etc.)
The village is well placed for access to the coast at Aldeburgh, Snape Maltings and the river at Woodbridge.
  • The rooms are even more spacious and attractive than they look in the photos. The garden is also delightful (we didn't use it because of the time of year/weather). Parking was easy and just a few seconds from the front door. Everything about this accommodation is designed to be comfortable, fresh and easy to stay in (the kitchen had all that we needed — although a freezer would have been helpful, we were fine without one). Very close to the sea and to Saxmundham. We certainly recommend it!

  • A delightful property spotlessly clean with lots of space, in an ideal very quiet location . The added extras were very generous and our whole experience was one that we would recommend. We tried 4 local hostelry's and found the food good and the staff attentive. The only down side was the necessity to deal with Airbnb - never again !!

Cozy beamy cottage in a quite village, pretty garden, on Tunstall Common, very near Rendlesham forest, Snape music, Orford quay, Aldeburgh beach. Fantastic for walking, cycling, culture, food, lots to do with great country and coastal surroundings.
Downstairs A small cozy sitting room full of beams and original stone floor, with two sofas, an electric wood burner, TV and wifi. Opening into the kitchen with a table to sit everyone. There is all you need to cook as well as a washing machine. The bathroom is downstairs with a bath, shower head, basin and loo. Although guests have given all sorts of lovely suggestions of how to turn this into a shower with a curtain - and we in turn have tried really hard to do it - I am afraid it isn't possible so it is just a hand held shower head. There is a small conservatory porch for you coats, boots and stuff. Upstairs Bedroom 1: Master bedroom with a kingsize bed, en suite loo and wardrobes. Bedroom 2: Twin bedroom (2 singles that can be pushed together) Bedroom 3; Kids bunk bed room. Outside Large enclosed garden, with lockable shed for bikes and lots of parking. Right on the edge of forest and heathland for amazing walking and cycling. Pets very welcome.
On the edge of ancient forest and common land with amazing walks and circle tracks. Half a mile to Tunstall village pub and close to lots of fantastic traditional foodie pubs. Great for relaxing eating drinking and walking, or actively cycling, riding and sailing. It is near beaches, castles, estuaries and culture and renowned for lobsters, oysters, local cheese, meats. Hosting the world famous Aldeburgh Music concert hall, shopping and food festival at Snape Maltings 2 miles away.
  • Fab cottage for a countryside hideaway. Very comfortable & an easy drive to local attractions.

A cosy country cottage with exposed beams, a wood burner and views to die for. However much I stay I don’t want to leave but now it’s your turn. Enjoy breakfast at the kitchen table or coffee in the conservatory. In colder months enjoy the wood burning stove and high vaulted ceiling of the sitting room. In the summer the garden enjoys views across Hazelwood Marshes which is managed by Suffolk Wildlife Trust and is home to an ever changing variety of bird life. How about waking to these views?
Marsh View has all you require to ensure some down time away from the hub bub. But there is still fast broadband and Sky TV to stay connected.
Marsh View sits in an enviable position on the edge of Aldeburgh overlooking the Suffolk Wildlife Trust reserve of Hazelwood Marshes. The cottage is warm and welcoming with all you need for business or leisure. The Sailors Path runs past the end of the drive linking Snape Maltings to Aldeburgh. It has been described as the best walk in Suffolk. Sailing, golf, cycling and retail therapy are all close at hand.
  • House in great location for exploring Suffolk and lots of things to do locally- including early morning trips to the bird hide on the marsh. Well equipped house and cosy (once we mastered the wood burning stove). Great views from the second bedroom and a perfect base.

  • A delightful cottage accomodation, spacious, clean and retaining character. Fully equipped, nice big garden and fantastic location for some beautiful walks. The dog loved it and so did we. One of the nicest places we've stayed.

  • This is a gem of a find! Amazing cottage, amazing views, amazing location! Cottage- beautiful, clean, warm (loved the log burner) with everything you need. Location- just stunning views across the river. And so central to go exploring...lots of walks, towns and places of interest to visit. And great places to eat out, loved it! Highly highly recommended!

  • We stayed 4 days (3nights) at Richard's cottage for the Easter break. The cottage is wonderful, it is nice and peaceful. There are a lot to see around the cottage and we loved the different walks through the woods / beach and around the river. The nature is everywhere !! We enjoyed the sun in the big garden. There are supermarkets (tesco/ co-op) at only 2 minutes drive which was really convenient. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely recommend Richard's cottage.

    Quentin2019-04-22T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our long weekend break celebrating a birthday in Richard's lovely cottage and was pleasantly surprised to find a birthday cake on our arrival! The cottage and the surrounding area were wonderful and if we travel in this direction again we most certainly would book in here again.

    Lynn2019-04-07T00:00:00Z
  • An incredible location- wake up and head out onto the marshes. A huge, beautiful space- modern conversion of a lovely, quirky cottage. Kitchen amenities were very nice, and the living room stove was perfect. Perfectly quiet, but just down the road from Aldeburgh. Water pressure rather weak, but not an issue.

    Susannah2019-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Great peaceful location. We loved the fact ground coffee and tea was supplied. Town is just a 40 minute walk away. There is a co op and Tesco a short drive or walk away too. Such a beautiful town. Great stay. Snape maltings is a short drive away which is worth a visit or you can walk the sailors path and see it that way.

  • I could write a small book on Helens barn but that would be long and boring. Suffice to say this was simply the best experience we have ever had using air bnb. Helens barn is just spot on, spotlessly clean with every single thing you could want. Her communication is on point and polite. There is not one single negative to draw from staying at the barn it is PERFECT. We will be back for another stay later in the year. Thankyou Helen, your barn and your hospitality are simply perfect.

Located within the beautiful grounds of Snape Hall, a traditional Suffolk long house built in 1556, you will find the secret hideaway that is The Bothy. Formerly a fruit barn, the word "Bothy" is known in the highlands of Scotland as "a place of rest for weary travellers." The Bothy has stylish decor featured throughout, this Suffolk holiday cottage is a romantic destination for two, especially for those who are looking to get away from it all and relax in beautiful and peaceful surroundings.
What our guest say: "A perfect location for a well earned break! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, thank you. Would certainly recommend your lovely cottages." "Lovely cottage, great location, good food in the village pubs, helpful and friendly hosts." You are welcomed into The Bothy, down a short twisting path, enclosed in hand woven willow. The front door leads straight onto the bright and cosy open plan living/kitchen dining area, with natural light spilling in from the wall of glass. From here, French doors open up to the south-facing patio where you can enjoy the sunset over the fields beyond. The patio is an ideal place to unwind in the sun. Beyond the patio is the paddock, which features a 1920s era petrol pump, with its sculptural qualities it has been nicknamed as the "Hambling."
Snape is one of east Suffolk's most sought after villages, famous for the Maltings, which have been developed into the home of the Aldeburgh Festival and are now the host for a renowned calendar of music events, but also surrounding the concert hall are many boutique shops – and there are many beautiful walks along the River Alde and a pub, the Plough and Sail to visit. The village of Snape has two excellent pubs, The Golden Key and Crown, both within walking distance of the cottage, and there is also the famous Sailors Path, a wonderful 4 mile walk towards Aldeburgh – highly recommended. Aldeburgh and Orford are both a short drive away and offer a wide range of excellent restaurants and cultural attractions, which in the case of Aldeburgh includes golf, sailing and arts festivals and with Orford Ruth Watson's excellent Crown and Castle, the Butley Oysterage and Orford Ness are all well worth visiting.
  • Fabulous place to chill out, beautifully decorated and sparkling clean, highly recommended!

  • The Bothy is a wonderful hideaway and perfectly placed to explore a beautiful part of Suffolk. Our welcome to the Bothy was as wholesome as the food in the local pub and it's clear the owners who live next door have gone to great lengths to make the Bothy warm, friendly and welcoming. We'll be back!
