I've created a couple (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) maps with specific spots I like in the area and will gladly share with you via messaging.
  • This is an amazing place. We wished we'd planned to stay longer, but we will be back! It's hard to describe the blend of enchanting strangeness and comforting homey-ness they've managed to create within this space. We've probably stayed in a dozen cabin-y get-a-ways in easy driving distance from DC/Bmore, and this is hands-down the best experience we've had yet.

    Andy2020-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • Very cool little getaway. Pet friendly with a very cute artistic vibe. Secluded and private but still close to amenities. Would go again.

  • Mid-century modern with cabin feel. Easy access from the highway. The kitchenette was so practical and well supplied. Sarah and David were very welcoming.

    Susan2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin is absolutely outstanding. An artist's dream home. It's so beautiful, comfortable, with many places to relax, read, make things, and even walk around outside. The sculpture path is so fantastic, we really enjoyed being able to have our own self-guided art walk in our own backyards. This is the coolest Air BnB I've ever stayed in!

  • This is the second time we’ve stayed at Jewel Vinsota and have loved it both times - would definitely stay again!!

    Heather2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful spot for rest, relaxation, and creative inspiation. Easy to find but a secluded feel and beautiful, wooded views. The nature/art walk right on the property was delightful.

    Andrea2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Cool and cozy cabin!

    Lotta2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • What a treat it was to get to stay at Sarah's and David's place. The location and place was exactly what we were looking for in trying to find some peace and serenity. We enjoyed the plethora of books on architecture and woodworking that were neatly organized around the house, as well as the amazing artwork throughout. A morning walk along the creek was just the perfect activity to start the day while exploring the various sculptures scatter throughout the path. We would love to come back.

This is the perfect place to stay while visiting this historic and interesting area! This is the ideal starting point for family functions, weekend getaways or sporting events in this region. We're close to State and National Parks, trails, sight seeing and more. We are bicycle friendly, we have private parking off the street. We are two and a half miles from the Appalachian Trail; less than 5 miles from the Red Heifer Winery, less than 10 miles to Hagerstown.
This is a comfortable spot to relax and unwind before or after events. Includes a full kitchen. A shared laundry room is available.
This is definitely a small town completely surrounded by a small town. This is orchard country right up against the west side of the mountain.
  • Lawrence was great at communicating, and it was a great place to stay. Lawrence and his wife are very sweet, and even invited us to have coffee and cookies with them! They gave us great recommendations on where to hike too.

    Sarah2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Lawrence's place was quite convenient to explore from and offered homelike amenities for us to recharge at the end of the day. We would come back in a heartbeat.

    Jan2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • This was my 2nd stay here and I’m still impressed. They have added a door to privatize the bedroom and living room even more than they were before and it’s a great addition.

    Cheyanne2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a cozy comfortable place to stay and an amazing value for the money. Lawrence is a fabulous host who just made us feel welcome and at home. Lots of historic and recreational spots in the vicinity. If you like peace and quiet in a rural setting this is the the place to stay.

    Dan2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • We've enjoyed our stay at Lawrence’s place. It was clean and cozy…. I especially loved the bed and foam pillow (which was very thoughtful of him). Great value, too. The location is very convenient- close to different restaurants, shops. Catoctin Mountain Park and Hagerstown outlet are just a short drive from Lawrence's place.

    Hwei-Ru2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • The place was clean and spacious. No problems.

    Kelly2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place. Pretty much like having the place to yourself. Quiet and clean

    Lolu2019-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Definitely the best decision I made was to stay with Lawrence and Thais. From the moment of my arrival until my departure, they were watching me. They are great people, we couldn't meet Thais in person, maybe next time. If you want to be in a remote place to rest, for a weekend or more days, this is without a doubt the place you should visit. Everything is equal to the photos and I would say that it is even better! The cleanliness of the site and the details. Of course, it is important that you know you need a car to move! I take the best of Cavetown in my mind and my heart and hope to return one day.

Our neighborhood, Kensington Villas, is in a really great part of town. Being first time home owners, we weren't really sure what to expect living in a townhouse/duplex community. What we found is that our neighborhood is filled with lots of really friendly families and young couples that have become like extended family. What makes our neighborhood special...the people. We love our community and know that you will too!
  • Would 100% stay again. I stayed for 5 weeks and cannot stress how much I enjoyed my stay here. Donna, Mike and their daughter made me feel like I was part of their family. They responded very quickly to any questions I had. They had three cats that I loved.

    Linh2020-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • Donna provided a very clean room and bathroom. She was very attentive throughout my stay!!

    Robert2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing Host! Beautiful room, clean, comfy and cozy. Would def go back anytime! Highly recommend if in the Hagerstown area!.

    Cindy2020-01-17T00:00:00Z
  • Donna was a great host! She has 3 very friendly cats. If you don't like cats or are allergic, I don't recommend staying here. I love cats, though, so in my opinion the cats were a bonus, lol. The bed was comfy, there's a very nice TV in the room, and everything was clean. I highly recommend this Airbnb!

    Tia2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Kindness family that I have ever met. I'm so glad to have met them, spend time with their unique pets and sleep in such a comfy room. Excellent experience!

    Amy2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • A very relaxing area to unwind and watch smart tv! Donna went above and beyond to make me feel at home. No regrets. I will return next week.

    Amy2019-12-13T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome bed, tv, hospitality and very clean. Quiet neighborhood and nice walk in closet! I also loved the cats and how Donna accepted me like family. I'm returning next week.

    Amy2019-12-06T00:00:00Z
  • I cannot say enough good things about my stay at Donna's house. I spent a month staying in this airbnb for one of my rotations and I have to say I am a complete homebody so when I heard the news that one of my rotations was states away I was pretty nervous. I never expected my stay to be so welcoming and accommodating. My hosts always went the extra mile to make sure I was comfortable. If I ever needed anything at all they were always one step ahead of me. I have never stayed in a more convenient airbnb. I loved all of the extra touches like the fact that it is a smart home, having a TV in my room with a lot of options, and the cleanliness. I would stay here all over again! 5 stars!

  • Margie was a great host! She pointed me in the direction of the Appalachian Trailhead, (only a mile or so away) offered dining information, and provided information about healing modalities offered at her Wellness Center. Though my stay was brief I enjoyed the comfortable bed and memory foam pillows and the sitting area in the room. The half bath was close by and the full bath was a bit of a distance, but I seemed to have the place to myself because I was not there during business hours.

    Lisa2020-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • Margie was wonderful! Very kind and helpful. Our stay was short and sweet and Margie made it great. The house was very quiet and peaceful.

    Abby2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Margie's place is as described. It is a private room with semi-private bathroom facilities. It was perfect for my husband and I. We only spent one night and arrived a bit late but Margie was the perfect hostess.

    Marti2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Great room with a comfy bed and lots of room to spread out. Great privacy and wonderful shower. It was fun staying at such a healthy place.

    JEan2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Margies place was fantastic! The drive to Gettysburg was super quick and easy. The place itself was very clean and private. The robes provided were a nice touch and extra towels and sheets were available. Though we didn’t get to use the hot tub, it was still open. Aside from the space itself being so great, Margie was extremely polite and helpful. She gave us recommendations for the area and was super accommodating when we had to check in late. I would absolutely stay here again or recommend staying with Margie to a friend looking to visit Gettysburg!

    Theresa-Marie2019-10-27T00:00:00Z

  • Deb and Reza were excellent hosts and made sure that I had everything I needed to live comfortably during my 10-week clinical rotation. The place was very clean and comfortable to live in. I had everything I needed and Deb even allowed me to come upstairs to do some laundry, which was very convenient. She was accommodating and offered lots of advice for things to do in the area! One piece that I would offer for improvement would be the furnace. Although lovely in appearance, I believe the venting is not hooked up properly and I could not use due to the propane smells. Deb offered advice to open a window during use, which I did, but was not a functional fix. However, there were alternative sources of heat and in the end did not need to use the furnace! Would recommend to anyone looking for short term housing. A lovely home and great couple, would stay again!

  • The mother-in-law suite was very well put together. Much care was taken to keep the suite looking like new. Deborah was very available for all our needs and came down to clean for us. Fresh picked flowers was a sweet gift. There's no laundry in the unit but laundromats are in town.

    Sandy2019-05-15T00:00:00Z
  • I would recommend In-Law Suite for an extended stay. I am owner of Lillie's Garden B&B and have experience and knowledge in what to look for in the cleanliness of a bathroom, towels, bed and sheets, and the good condition of appliances .The cleanliness of the whole apt. was exceptional. There is plenty of closet space and dressers. Requests for any of my needs were met with prompt responses and satisfaction. The hosts were warm and friendly without being intrusive. The neighborhood is quiet and safe. It was a great experience.

    Linda2019-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Deborahs place was beautiful! Upon arrival we were greeted and then helped with our bags which was wonderful because it was freezing out . Once we got in the stark contrast of the warmth compared to outside immediately made us want to settle in for the night. There was WiFi, a comfortable TV area , game room and the bedroom also had some nice touches. We’d definitely stay again!

    Aqilah2019-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Deborah's place is all that is advertised and more. It's in a beautiful area with plenty of wildlife at your door, and the dark bedroom with a queen-sized bed is particularly comfy. Deborah is very responsive to your needs and gives guests their privacy. She supplies fresh linens and vacuums once per week for longer term guests. You do not have access to a washer and dryer but there is a laundry not too far away. You do need a car to stay at Deborah's place. We would definitely stay there again.

    Lynette2019-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • Immaculate space in a beautiful setting. Deborah was on hand to personally greet us and offered a brief orientation, as well as assisting us with our bags. Would definitely recommend this.

  • This place was a perfect little getaway. It’s charm and authenticity make it a special destination location. The two goats that inhabit the property give it that extra unforgettable touch. We loved every second of our stay, would recommend this spot for anyone, and we’d love to come back soon. 5 stars on everything.

    Deb2019-11-27T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was exactly as advertised. The property was secluded and private but close to so much (10 minute drive to the AT, 20 minute drive to the city). We look forward to coming back

  • We enjoyed our stay in this quiet, little cabin. It made for a nice getaway away for our 40th anniversary. We enjoyed the peaceful serenity and cozy accommodations! Also convenient to many points of interest such as Harpers Ferry, Frederick, and several parks with plenty of hiking trails. A great find!

    Miguel2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • This place was great! Perfect for a weekend getaway. It was great to feel secluded while also being nearby everywhere we wanted to go during our stay. The November nights got cold so I was very appreciative of all of the heaters and blankets! The goats were a lovely addition to our stay. Mark was very timely in providing us check-in directions before our stay, and the welcome book was very helpful as well!

    Laura2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was clean, neat and comfortable. We enjoyed our week long stay. The cabin is in close proximity to places like Gettysburg, Harper's Ferry, and several beautiful parks.

Hagerstown is known as "The Hub" for good reason! Our place is conveniently located close to Interstates 81 and 70. You’ll love our place because of the comfortable living space. We want you to feel at home. Our place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and families (with kids).
Our place is close to the Hagerstown Regional Airport; just a little over an hour to Washington D.C., Baltimore and Annapolis; less than an hour to the Gettysburg Battlefield, Harper's Ferry, and Antietam Battlefield; just thirty minutes to Whitetail Ski Resort; and just minutes off of Interstates 81 and 70. Please note this is a private basement space in our home with a private entrance. Also, please note that although this area is furnished with a small refrigerator, microwave and coffee pot, it is not a full kitchen. This space is great for people who don't plan to cook aside from heating things up in the microwave. We do provide coffee, tea, water, and packets of oatmeal, along with paper plates, bowls, cups, and plastic cutlery for your convenience. Also, this basement space does have some areas that we utilize. For short term renters, we make sure this space is kept private. For longer term renters, sometimes we may need access to these areas, but only when it is convenient for the renter.
We live in a quiet, friendly neighborhood, close to many amenities.
  • Wade and Ginny go above and beyond to make you feel welcome and at home. I felt such peace in their home! Everything was so perfect- definitely hope to be back again soon!

    Gabrielle2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • We've stayed at Wade and Ginny's a few times on our way to and from Florida. It is always a restful, pleasant stay.

    Kathy2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely space conveniently located to places. An exceptional value compared to hotels. Thoughtful and caring host. Highly recommend.

    Sophia2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great Space, super clean and fast response to questions. Definitely will stay again.

    Robert2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay with Ginny and Wade. There was so much room for the two of us. It was spotlessly clean, and very well equipped. Our hosts were very responsive. It was comfortable, well decorated, and quiet, but also very convenient to the highway. If back this way we would definitely look for this listing first.

    Brian2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Wade and Ginny have a lovely basement apartment in Hagerstown! I rented it for my bridesmaids to stay in after my wedding. Ginny was quick with communication and incredibly flexible and accommodating for my bridesmaids!

    Olivia2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Spacious yet cozy space. It was sparkling clean and Wade and Ginny were very thoughtful hosts.

    Caroline2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • My friends and I enjoyed our stay. The beds were comfortable and Ginny made sure we had everything we needed. We actually arrived too early, but Wade warmly welcomed us and let us drop off our stuff! Only thing is that the basement had an interesting smell, but we aired it out so it was no problem at all. Great hosts, great place!

If you are looking for a unique place to stay, come visit us at Springhouse 1803. Yes, there really is a spring inside/under the house. After sitting empty for 20+ years, the restoration is to a point where it can be used, it has maintained much of its colonial charm. The house has all the amenities you need for a comfortable stay. THIS IS NOT A PARTY HOUSE, OWNER IS ON SITE.
PLEASE NOTE - IF YOU HAVE MOBILITY ISSUES YOU DO NOT WANT TO STAY HERE. This is a historic colonial house with tight steep stairwells and a few low doorways and ceilings. I don’t recommend it for toddlers and young children as well, because of the stairs. There is no carbon monoxide detector because the house is run on a heat pump, there is no need. There are currently no doors separating the two bedrooms, barn doors are on the schedule for the next restoration project. THIS IS NOT A PARTY HOUSE, OWNER IS ON SITE
The springhouse is located in a small community which sits just outside the city limits of Hagerstown. The city is literally just around the corner. Also around the corner are two shopping centers that would have everything you might need for your stay.
  • Clean and the owner is very nice!

    Sebastian2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Very charming and cute farm house. I love that the property was very quiet and peaceful but also easy to get to. My only regret is not visiting during warmer weather. It would have been fun to explore the property more. Thanks for the relaxing stay!

    Chantal2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • The house was amazing! We all didn’t expect what we got when we walked in, there were little things everywhere that really helped tie in the whole experience. Our trip was last minute due to a hotel cancellation and Rorke opened her house to us, even though it was as late as it was.

    Annalise2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful place to stay. Similar in construction to the Hager House (the original home of the founder of Hagerstown), but with all modern amenities. Very quiet, especially at night. The host was very friendly, and responded to our messages quickly. The house was decorated with some lovely Christmas trees.

Newly renovated private suite in near-100 year old home only 1.5 miles from town center. Welcoming neighborhood of architecturally diverse homes inspired by the Garden City Movement of early 20th C. Near Interstate 81 and 70, Museum of Fine Arts, Whitetail Ski Resort, Antietam, Gettysburg, Frederick, C&O bike trails, wineries and outlets. Great for overnight travel or conferences, Maryland International Film Festival, Blues Fest, Suns (A) baseball and family reunions. Breakfast. Private parking.
Lovely walking neighborhood and steps away from Gordons Grocery, a 3 generation family shop with salads, specialty sweets, deli food, beer/wine, butcher, and the necessary staples.
Sidewalks and old trees make this a great walking and jogging neighborhood. The city bike trail goes through the neighborhood too. It’s quiet. And there’s a lot of birdsong. Many shops and a gym only five minutes away.
  • Dominic and Dale are so very thoughtful! Their place is a home away from home! Attention to detail and little personal touches makes the stay special. Highly recommend their place. You won’t regret it!

  • This place is as nice as the pictures show. Dominic also provided chocolate, Klondike ice cream bars, healthy snack items, yogurt, water and fruit. He and his wife are very friendly and very quick to respond to any questions. The location was perfect for us. I enjoyed walking around the neighborhood and seeing the many different styles of homes. Make time to get to the nearby PA Dutch Market when they are open. So much good food there! Also the Hagerstown Diner is very close and provides good breakfasts.

    Brenda2020-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • Dominic's place was even better than we expected. And judging from all the positive reviews, our expectations were high! He has thought of so many details to make your stay easy and comfortable. His home is in a lovely neighborhood and they are the friendliest. I would definitely stay at Dominic's place if we were in the area in the future and I HIGHLY recommend it. Thanks Again!!

A unique and private mountain top colonial era spring house, with two springs flowing thru the basement. Originally the site of a tannery in the 1700s. Here you can relax, recharge, and rejuvenate. We celebrate all four seasons where you can enjoy Mother Nature's ever changing scenery at 1300' above sea level with fresh mountain air. Our area offers many things to do, or you may choose to stay in and do nothing at all.
The spring house offers an efficiency size kitchen and living area. Decorated in primitive country, our cozy first floor has a dining area and pull out sofa to accommodate an extra guest. The second story bedroom offers 2 queen sized beds with TV, air conditioning, adjustable lighting ceiling fan and a full bath (shower only).
Hike the Appalachian Trail, check out the scenic views from High Rock, or hike the trails to the waterfall at Cunningham Falls State Park. Visit the Gettysburg and Antietam battlefields. Local wineries and ski resorts within minutes. Amish country Lancaster PA, Hersey Park, Inner Harbor, Baltimore MD and our Nation's Capital Washington DC all within a 2 hour drive. The world famous National Shrine Grotto of Lourdes and the National Firefighters Memorial within a 15 minute drive.

  • My mom, sisters, and I enjoyed our time at the Spring House. The home is on the smaller side, but is fully equipped with everything you could possibly need for a weekend getaway. We visited downtown Emmitsburg, went for a hike nearby, and enjoyed the unique history of the little house! We especially loved seeing all of the work that went into the restoration effort. This is a great spot, and I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a unique place to stay. Thanks for having us!

    Bridey2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • I absolutely loved everything about this house!! It’s a historic treasure, built in the 1700’s and restored to a pristine, neat & cozy home. This place has so many neat touches and such a rustic atmosphere. Phyllis supplies all the needs you could imagine during your stay. Linens, utensils, toiletries are included ,as well as beverages and snacks to energize you for the slopes. I recommend this place to anyone who wants to be close to ski resort, relax with friends and enjoy a glass of wine on the balcony. There’s even a wine cellar in the basement with a spring flowing through it!! The home is within a 2-7 mile radius of dining, shopping and skiing!!I cannot wait to return. Best host ever!

We love sharing Walnut Hill Manor with our many guests. Built in 1908, it is a lovely Queen Anne Victorian with original oak floors and chestnut wood trim, a classic 3 story turret, huge pocket doors, 2 beautiful fireplaces, and the most incredible wrap around porch. The house is elegantly decorated with gorgeous antiques throughout. The bonus is the two plus acres of well manicured lawns and gardens in a country setting, all within the shadows of the Blue Ridge mountains.
We have three guest bedrooms, all nicely furnished with beautiful antiques. (see photos) Each room is named after the children who grew up in this house in the early 1900's. In Henry's room the bed has been modified to accommodate a queen mattress, the other rooms have full size beds, all very comfortable. Henry's room also boasts a wonderful stained glass window. Gerty's room is the largest, the bed sits in the turret. Vergy's room in the smallest but very cozy. Each room has its own AC/heat unit, a ceiling fan, and a large closet. Henry's and Gerty's room have TV's.
Many historical sites and recreational opportunities are close, including Gettysburg, Monterey Pass battlefield, Renfrew Museum and Park, Antietam Creek, and the Appalachian trail.
  • This was our second stay with Roxanne and Alan. The house is amazing and we just love staying! Can’t wait fir the next stay.

  • Alan & Roxanne are very gracious hosts. They were responsive and flexible with our arrival and departure times. Their home is beautiful and impressively appointed. The accommodations were spacious, very comfortable and had everything we needed for an enjoyable stay. They provided helpful pointers for local things to do and were willing to provide everything needed to make our visit very nice. We will definitely return whenever we need to visit the Waynesboro are again.

  • Great hosts! House is gorgeous and unique, space was clean, and Alan and Roxanne were very friendly and welcoming. Would stay here again!

    Liz2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • What a fantastic place Walnut Hill Manor is! The house is beautifully decorated with lovely period furniture and you can see how much love and care has gone into restoring the Manor. The bedroom in the turret, where I stayed, is beautiful. A very comfy bed, lots of space and light and airy. You have access to most of the house and gardens and are encouraged to use them. I stayed for over two weeks and was given lots of space in the fridge, a pantry to store other bits of food and there was no problem cooking in the kitchen. The best part of the house is definitely the wrap around porch! There are numerous seats in various locations but the best area is the swinging seat. I spent many an hour chilling and relaxing on the porch, listening to the water fountain, birds and enjoying the peace and tranquility. Alan and Roxanne and incredible hosts, were very warm, friendly and welcoming and also went above and beyond for me. Alan is a fountain of knowledge on the local area and places to visit and it was lovely to chat to them both at times during my stay. There are quite a few places you can walk to from the Manor - local grocery store, Memorial Park, Renfrew Museum & Park - and a fabulous coffee shop in Waynesboro. The review wouldn't be complete without mentioning Ellie Mae their dog! She is adorable, very friendly & well behaved and used to greet with a bounce every morning! I loved my time staying with Alan and Roxanne, wouldn't hesitate to recommend their airbnb and hope to stay again some day.

    Lois2019-10-11T00:00:00Z

The cozy house for the whole family, furry friends included. Quietly located in the town of Waynesboro, a short walk to downtown and excellent Sushi - Sapporo. Eat in or explore Waynesboro's charm. 1.5 hours from Baltimore or Washington DC. 23 miles from Historic Gettysburg. 13 miles from Ski Liberty and 23 miles from Whitetail Ski resorts. Covered carport parking. Perfect for the family vacation or ski trip. Stocked with toys and games. Full line of baby amenities available upon request.
Fully equipped home with cook-in kitchen and organic cotton linens.
Enjoy the benefits of a small town while remaining within 60-90 minutes of Baltimore, Harrisburg, and Washington DC. Waynesboro is situated in the southern part of Franklin County, Pennsylvania, about 2 miles north of the Mason-Dixon line, 6 miles east of I-81 and 12 miles north of Hagerstown, Maryland. During the Civil War, Waynesboro was held for 15 days by Confederates on their way to Gettysburg.
  • The AirBnB was lovely and fit 7 of us comfortably with our own spaces. The kitchen is fully equipped so we had a lot of fun cooking and baking! We also had a Martins around the corner for last minute groceries while Liberty mountain was an easy 20 minute drive. The only tidbit to keep in mind is to leave the bedroom doors open so the heat spreads evenly - some friends said it got cold in the bedrooms at night. Really easy workaround. I would grab this AirBnB ASAP if you’re looking for one in the area, especially if you’re there for skiing.

  • We've stayed here twice now, and our trip was great both times! Kimberly is a great host, and the house and location are terrific.

  • Staying with Kimberly for a second in a row year. I love the space- location, proximity to the slopes and to downtown and absolutely love the vibes with this house, thoughtfully decorated from Kimberly and her family. We always travel with our small Pomeranian dog and feeling welcomed with her is very important for us when renting for a vacation or a short getaway. Thank you, Kimberly, can’t wait until next time! • Kimberly's place is spacious and very clean, and the decor is great. Kimberly was very quick to respond to any questions and communication was very informative, so we had no problems checking in or otherwise. The covered carport was very convenient for the spots of rain that we experienced and we were very grateful for it. We really enjoyed checking out the surrounding area, and the location is very convenient to everything we needed or wanted to do. We would definitely book again!

    Catharine2020-01-17T00:00:00Z
  • Let me just say this the house was sparkling clean. Everything was repaired and laid out for us. And a special touch she had a bottle of wine waiting for us when we got there. Kimberly was very fast with responding and making sure we were comfortable. Definitely would stay here again

  • Great stay for a weekend getaway. Pond is smaller than expected with not many fish, but the location is great for Cunningham falls and other types of hiking. Cabin was adorable.

Trying to make use of our daughter’s room that moved out. Our place is close to the Hagerstown Regional Airport; just a little over an hour to Washington D.C., Baltimore and Annapolis; less than an hour to the Gettysburg Battlefield, Harper's Ferry, & Antietam Battlefield; just thirty minutes to Whitetail Ski Resort; and minutes off of Interstates 81 & 70. Space accommodates up to 4 people comfortably, maybe 5 if family with 3 kids. Perfect space if traveling for work or alone.
A spacious and cozy private suite with a full bathroom, walk-in closet, TV and Wi-Fi. It's just like staying in a hotel, but with the home feel. There's no pets allowed in the suit, the home has friendly dogs.
Up-scale neighborhood in the Hamptons of Hagerstown, MD. Very safe with several police as neighbors.
  • Great room to stay! The mini fridge, microwave, coffee pot & attached bathroom really made the room a great value. Sandy was very friendly. Would definitely stay again!

  • Sandy was very welcoming and courteous for our stay! We were super close to downtown Hagerstown and checking in late was not a problem. She has two lovely puppies who were excited to meet my wife and I, and the room was spacious, clean and cozy! Thanks so much Sandy ~ Daniel & Sasha

  • Sandy is a really great host. She’s warm and welcoming and goes out of her way to make you feel right at home. The room is actually much bigger than it looks in the pictures and is very clean. I would definitely stay here again.

  • Wonderful stay at Sandy's again! We love this AirBNB!!

    Faith2019-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • This is hands down the best AirBNB I have ever stayed at. Sandy is such a gracious host, and her home is just gorgeous! The bed is absolutely luxurious! Seriously, you’ll wish this was your bed at home!! The space is very clean, there is Netflix for the guests, and there is honestly not one complaint I can think of after staying at Sandy’s. We hope to stay again in the future!

  • I stayed at Sandy's place after having been on the road for over a week. I cannot say enough about how comfortable the bed is and how well I slept in it! The room is very private with its own bathroom and even a thoughtful coffee station. I would highly recommend it to any fellow travelers!

  • Awesome stay at the Cabin in the Woods!

    Patrick2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • This was a super cute house tucked away in the woods with a lovely amount of accommodations by the host. We didn’t come with a family, but it was nice to see how family friendly the home was and I could see it being great for a family getaway. Host was super responsive and nice to communicate with. Nicely stocked kitchen for someone who likes to cook their own meals and the beds were incredibly comfy. Appreciate the wood available for the fireplace inside, great for a cold evening. Overall, an amazing place to stay.

    Roman2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was a perfect mid-winter getaway with school age kids. There is a gorgeous view from the front porch and a fire pit out back with plenty of firewood. Tony has an outstanding selection of current kid’s books for multiple ages, and a spectacular set of games. We spent hours sitting around the wood stove reading and playing games. The pantry was incredibly well-stocked; we didn’t have to pack or re-buy every staple as we normally do on vacations. Thanks for a cozy and relaxing stay!

  • Our group of four friends has gone from location to location for our annual get-togethers, but now we think we've found our permanent location for the future. This cabin is perfect -- the natural setting, the comfortable and casual layout, the indoor and outdoor living spaces ... we had a perfect, fun and comfortable time and look forward to our next visit!

  • Great location, wonderful communication. Definitely would book again.

    Katherine2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Tony’s cabin was perfect! Beds were super comfy. None of the kids wanted to get out of them in the morning. We enjoyed the deer running through the property and wished we’d had time to sit on the back patio with the fire pit!

The bonus is the two plus acres of well manicured lawns and gardens in a country setting within the shadows of the Blue Ridge mountains.
  • Alan and Roxanne are wonderful hosts with a beautiful spotless clean home! A friend and I met there (using two of their rooms). There are so many nice Victorian touches and antiques. There’s also a beautiful place to walk nearby and a wonderful small town Japanese place called Sapporo which we loved. Coffee was supplied as was a griddle to make the pancakes we made. They were happy to do our dishes a which was plus! You won’t regret staying here especially if you like beautiful light and comfortable beds.

    Providence2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Roxanne was an amazing hostess. Her home was beautiful and sparkling clean. We enjoyed meeting her and their pup Ellie Mae. We will definitely stay here again!

  • Absolutely beautiful house and well worth staying at. The rooms (we had two on the 1st floor) are lovely and the house is amazing. Alan and Roxanne are the consummate hosts and made us feel very welcome. We've stayed in lots of Airbnb's and this has been by far the best...well worth the money. Highly recommended and we can't wait to return...

    Justin2019-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Walnut Hill Manor! The house was beautiful and it was fun to learn the history behind it. Alan and Roxanne are fantastic hosts and made us feel right at home. The house is spotlessly clean and decorated so tastefully. The price is very reasonable and we had no issues finding the place. We absolutely fell in love with Ellie Mae, she is just the sweetest dog! We definitely recommend this Airbnb and plan to visit again in the future!

  • Dave's place is truly a great camping experience. We thoroughly enjoyed listening to the creek & sitting around the fire pit each night. We had enough interior space and more than enough outdoor sitting area. What's great about it is it's extremely private - you feel like you're really out in the woods but you're very close to all the nearby activities. We spent our days hiking at Cunninham Falls State Park and in the Catoctin Mountains, and visiting a couple of local breweries. We cooked on the grill one night and brought back barbecue from Frederick, MD one night. Great time. Kids would love it!

    Lee Ann2019-11-06T00:00:00Z
  • Once again Dave’s retreat was a fantastic escape from the hustle of DC. We brought friends this time around and they loved how relaxing it was. We will definitely be back in the Spring.

    Ryan & Colby2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Dave's creekside oasis was even better than expected. The camper was extremely clean, included everything we needed, and had more than enough space for the two of us and our two dogs. The creek outside was perfect for fishing and for the dogs to swim and he even has bins that hold the firewood to make sure they're dry for the perfect campfire. We had a very relaxing anniversary weekend and have already booked again for November. Thanks Dave! We look forward to coming back!

    Ryan & Colby2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • One of the best spots we’ve stayed! Would absolutely recommend to anyone looking for a fun, relaxing stay.

    Alex2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Dave’s place is perfect for a little family getaway. The location is beautiful and you start to immediately relax. We were right by the creek and could go fishing swimming hiking or just relax in the hammock. We cooked out on the fire and roasted marshmallows. The location is great and we hope to explore more of it the next time we visit. The trailer has all the amenities you need and the beds are very comfy. Dave was a great host – very responsive, friendly, and helpful.

    Erin2019-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • We loved glamping at this great campsite! Our hosts were great and very responsive to our needs. The location is very convenient - we enjoyed outings to Frederick, Gettysburg and several of the state parks in the area for picnics, hiking and water fun, not to mention a few lovely wineries. Lots of super restaurants nearby. The campsite was amazing and relaxing and our grandkids loved fishing and playing in the creek. The camper itself was beautiful and very well kept, clean and well stocked. We enjoyed great family time around the campfire each night. We loved early morning walks to the nearby ponds to watch the birds, deer and wildlife. Wonderful memories made! Would love to come back in the fall when the leaves are changing!

    Sandy2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lot of fun "glamping" at the RV! Kids loved the stream and watching a movie outside!

    Anna2019-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • Glamping in a very nice 5th wheel camper. Awesome location with a river, swimming hole (with tons of little fish to feed), fire pit (and tons of wood), games like corn hole, my kid had so much fun! Dave was an awesome host, showed us around and brought us some fishing poles/fish snacks.

We especially enjoyed relaxing in the sunroom off of the well-equipped kitchen. We appreciated the easy check-in and excellent communication with Jessie.

We would happily stay here again!

Relax after a day of sightseeing, shopping, skiing, wine tasting, kayaking, or hiking in this elegantly appointed 175 year old National Landmark property. The home features 4 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, exquisite antiques, original artwork, and all the modern comforts you’d expect. The grounds feature an in-ground pool, deck, patios, ample off-street parking (10+cars), and fire pit. Within blocks, choose from numerous taverns, historic sites, antique stores, and a winery.
Why stay ordinary when you can stay extraordinary in a National Landmark? Don't just visit history, experience it as you and your guests enjoy staying in this unique home built by a prominent local merchant circa 1850, on a large lot in the heart of historic Funkstown, MD founded in 1767. Keller House retains much of its original architectural detail while still offering central air-conditioning and modern bathrooms and kitchen. This house twice served the nation, first after the Battle of Antietam, and most notably during the retreat from Gettysburg when the Battle of Funkstown broke out on July 10, 1863. In the aftermath of this large battle, this home, the historic Chaney House directly across the street, and the neighboring Town Hall (formerly Christ's German Reformed Church) were commandeered as hospitals. We welcome you to step back in time and enjoy this spacious, one of a kind of experience in Maryland’s Heart of the Civil War Heritage area.
Funkstown, Maryland is a quaint small town established in 1767 nestled into a large bend of the Antietam Creek. The town has numerous taverns that serve food and drinks, many antique stores, and even a winery. The town hosts numerous events during the year and is very walk-able. Keller House is located on the original lot 1 of the 177-lot town. While many lots have been divided, Keller House maintains its original boundaries with nearly 1/2 acre.
  • Keller House is a historic home located in a small town-Funkstown. Funkstown reflects the history of towns built as America grew westward. We could almost picture the wagons and horses moving along Baltimore Ave. There are several nice antique shops with friendly owners, lovely church bells at noon and 6:00PM and Antietam Creek nearby. All-in-all a nice step back in time with all the comforts of home.

    Deborah2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • This is one of the best stays we have had in a long time. The hosts are quick to response to any inquiry. There is a lot of information about the place, nearby attractions, and restaurants. The house is beautifully decorated and it transports you back to the civil war era. It’s sparkling clean and fully stocked. There is plenty of parking for guests. Electronic locks make it easy to come in and out of the house without worrying about losing keys. Overall we all thought the house was comfortable and homey. We would definitely stay here again.

    Elba2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • The house is gorgeous—amazing touches everywhere. The beds were comfy and the linens very soft. The kitchen and bathrooms were super modern and easy to navigate. Only wish we’d been here in the summer to appreciate the pool, but instead we took advantage of the easy 28-minute drive to Whitetail Ski Resort.

    Erin2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • This place is incredibly interesting, a true piece of American 19th century history. It is a great location to step off to many local adventures. We used it as a base camp for a few hikes on the nearby AT. The host was incredibly attentive and the house was well cared for and very clean. We are definitely considering coming back, maybe for a longer stay.

    Alexander2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • This house is gorgeous, inside and out. There are so many fun aspects to it, from the historical aspect to the little closets, shelves and windows (see if you can find the hidden ironing board!). We found the whole process to be smooth, our hosts super-responsive and available to adjust everything (including the thermostat) to make us more comfortable. There's more than enough room for several guests, and one end of the house can be quite quiet while the other bustles with activity. The area is full of fun places to visit whatever your interests -- biking, checking out battlefields, antiquing. One of our very best experiences using home-share situations. We'll be back!

  • I stayed at the Keller House for the weekend of the JFK 50 mile run. If you're thinking of doing the same, know that the house is a very easy 10-15 minute drive to the starting line. There is a very comfortable bed on the first floor (read: few stairs) and the showers were hot for that post-race recovery. The photos don't do this house justice. We found it spacious, stylish, clean, and very comfortable. I would 100 percent consider it for a weekend getaway from DC, especially in the summer to make good use of the pool. The hosts were super responsive and greeted us with a welcome card with recommendations, a bottle of local wine, and coffee. Overall, a highly recommend AirBNB.

  • This is a huge house - very nice antique touches. Ben has great communication and was very helpful throughout the process.

  • We stayed at the Keller house for a weekend away from the stress of the city. We relaxed immediately with the beauty of the house and the furnishings. The hosts were very responsive and left niceties such as water and chocolate in each room. We toured the battlefields and shopped at the antique stores. We played pool at the bar down the block. It was a perfect getaway spent in a beautiful house.

Our home is just 20 min from White Tail Ski Resort and Mercersburg Academy. For you history buffs, we are less than an hour to Gettysburg and Harper's Ferry. Antietam Battlefield is just twenty minutes away. It also is equidistant between Harrisburg, Washington DC and Baltimore MD, approximately an hour to each. You’ll love my place because of the scenic golf course, quiet neighborhood and beautiful landscape. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers. Dogs are fine.
  • Maryanne is a super host and this home is a relaxing place to go in a wonderful neighborhood which is convenient to everything to include Whitetail Mountain Resort and Antietam- nearby historic Hagerstown and their stupendous Art Museum and Park. • Thank you for letting me stay!

    Andrew2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely room and private bath. Bed is a bit squeaky 😏 but comfortable!

    Karissa2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • My son and our lab-mix dog stayed at Maryanne's place when we went skiing at Whitetail. Usually the dog sleeps all day but this time she was barking so Maryanne took care of her while my son and I were skiing - which was a godsend since it would have been difficult to find a doggy day care at short notice in Hagerstown on a weekend. Her hospitality to us - and especially our four-legged family member - was VERY MUCH appreciated! Thanks!

    Stacy2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • My second time staying at Maryanne’s place. Superb in every way! Location is great. Very nice neighborhood convenient to Whitetail Mountain Resort and downtown Hagerstown. Super Clean! Very comfortable bed and all the amenities you need.

  • Sparkling clean spacious bedroom and private bath. Excellent location near Whitetail Mountain Resort and the Antietam Battlefield. Great restaurants nearby in the heart of downtown Hagerstown. Communication with Maryanne swift and helpful. A plus!

The bonus is the two plus acres of well manicured lawns and gardens in a country setting within the shadows of the Blue Ridge mountains.
  • Great experience in a lovely house with a lovely owners

    Ivan2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • It was wonderful to sit on the porch and relax during the evening. The property is well kept and beautiful.

    Dawson2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • The house was beautiful! An extremely well maintained early 20th century home with tasteful decor. It was comfortable and enjoyable. Alan was an excellent host!

    James2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent place to stay, very comfortable and clean. Very easy going hosts and kind. Would definitely recommend checking out this gem of a place to stay if you are headed to this area.

    Dana2019-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • The Victorian house is beautifully decorated with period antiques. Alan (and a very friendly dog who was very sweet) greeted us and gave us a tour of the home. Everything was very clean and neatly organized. The fresh flowers in the room were a nice touch!

    Tristen2019-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • We had driven all night and spent the day exploring Gettysburg, so we arrived at Alan and Roxanne's place tired, stinky, and sweaty. They welcomed us warmly and provided exactly the relaxing evening we needed. We spent time enjoying the yard and view from the gorgeous front porch, and Alan set a game of cornhole up in the driveway for our kids to play. We could not have asked for a cozier, more perfect place to spend the night. Our only regret is that we only had one night to spend here!

    Adam2019-06-29T00:00:00Z
  • A beautifully restored home that was built in the early 1900's. The wrap around porch was large and our family especially enjoyed it in the early morning and evening. Alan and Roxanne are excellent hosts who keep their home and outdoor living space immaculate!

    Mary2019-05-20T00:00:00Z
  • I'm often hesitant to rent a place without a private entrance, but the beauty of this house overruled my hesitation--boy am I glad it did! Best Airbnb I've found thus far. Gorgeous house, gorgeously furnished. Alan and Roxanne are lovely hosts, very welcoming and accommodating with amenities and use of space. The bedrooms were very luxurious with beautiful mountain views, and I so much appreciated being able to use the kitchen. Close to Catoctin and Liberty Mountain, just enough off the beaten path. My only regret is that we couldn't stay longer--we will definitely be back.

  • Shawn was a great host! She was responsive and thoughtful. We had a great stay and would recommend for a relaxing getaway.

    Taylor2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Shawn's guest suite is fantastic. There is a private entrance, and everything you could need for a relaxing stay. The space has many great details, and it is clear that she has put a lot of effort into making it as welcoming and comfortable as possible. It is especially awesome if you are bringing dogs - there is a trail and plenty of green space for playing, plus a pretty large, fenced-in patio for the pups to hang in if you're grilling. Overall, a great place to stay, and we will definitely keep it in mind for the future!

    Mary2019-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • Our first Airbnb stay and we absolutely loved everything!! From Shawn’s quick responses to all my questions, to all the fabulous details she thought of, to the awesome space both indoors and outside!! We loved it and so did our dog. We can’t recommend this place enough and look forward to going back!!

    Jamie2019-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • I’ve stayed in several Air BnB’s and this is easily one of my favorites. The space itself is incredibly nice and the backyard is picturesque. Several added touches by the host added to what was already a great stay. I will try to stay again next time in the area.

    Christopher2019-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • The place is simply a fairy tale. It’s perfect for a getaway. We didn’t leave the place much because it was so cozy and relaxing, full sense of privacy. Shawn is so thoughtful by providing anything we might need and even more. We grilled out, had a bonfire, cooked, enjoyed the trail, snuggled in the coziest bed with the best sheets. It was just perfect. I’ve stayed in a lot of Airbnb’s and this was one of my favorites. Very beautiful property!

    Julian2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • We thought this was a wonderful place to stay for our few days in Hagerstown. Such a quaint and soothing atmosphere. It was even more beautiful in person, pictures don't do it justice. It had everything you needed and more!! Such a romantic and peaceful place!

Large finished basement with a private room and bathroom with plenty of amenities to provide a comfortable stay. There is also a living room with a fireplace, pool table, and fitness area. Guests will have a private entrance on the side of the house and a patio outside to enjoy the wonderful views. Located in rural Wolfesville, this rental offers a quiet mountain escape, but is only a short drive to I-70. There is plenty to do in nearby Frederick or Hagerstown, and only about and hour from DC.
  • The location was great for breaking up our return to DC after a day of skiing and whitetail and exploring the area. The pool table was a great bonus

    Michael2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Loved this space! Dave was incredibly responsive and the perfect host. The space is the entire basement level of his home on top of a hill in Wolfsville, MD. There is a huge field outside the house, perfect for dogs or stargazing or both. The basement itself was decorated thoughtfully, giving it a home-away-from-home feel. There is a pool table there that we took full advantage of as well as assorted games and a tv. Dave also provided a bottle of wine, some snacks, and bottles of water in a fridge. There is no kitchen, but Dave was thoughtful enough to install a microwave prior to our arrival for us to heat up our food. Finally, Dave was a responsive host, offering multiple suggestions on what to do in the area and ensuring we had what we needed to enjoy our stay. Overall, this far exceeded our expectations and was the perfect place for us to cap off a day of hiking in the beautiful state parks. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a weekend getaway!
