Excellent value for money, and cul-de-sac parking. Sally is very easy to talk and makes you feel very welcome. One shop and 2 takeaways within walking distance, plus the rugby club for drinks. Best part is the bed is comfortable and there absolutely no noise - so you should sleep very well. I would visit again Alex

Thank you very much Sally for this nice visit at your great place. Only drawback was the 20min traffic jam between Rogerstone and M4/A48, when driving into Cardiff in the morning, but I liked the nice and relaxed landscape living in Machen very much ... much nicer than in the city ... .

Sally was one of my best hosts ever. She was very friendly and trustful. We had stimulating talks and she gave me good tips for my business. The breakfast was excellent.

Had a great stay. Maxine communicated well before hand and was totally flexible on or arrival time. She gave us all the info we needed. lovely house and ideal location for getting to Cardiff. Could happily stay here again.

We had three nice days at Maxine's apartment. She was a very welcoming and helpful host. Very calm and peaceful surrounding. The train station is only 10 minutes away where you have access to the trains to Cardiff (45 minutes). Thanks a lot!

We really enjoyed the stay at Maxine's place! It was clean, functional and well equipped, and the comfy bed and quiet neighborhood guaranteed an amazing night's sleep. Maxine was so friendly and welcoming. She has a lovely house- the tile in the kitchen and bathroom was just gorgeous, the whole house very clean and modern. She is in just the right spot for someone driving cross country from London to Wales, heading into Cardiff to take in the Doctor Who Experience and other fun things south Wales has to offer. We also found some great restaurants in the area that were open late. All around, a great experience. I'd definitely stay with Maxine again if heading back to Wales.

If your looking for a great spot to go mountain biking or walking/running. These guys have a perfect house in a great location. They put out a lovely breakfast spread for us and made us feel most welcome. Hopefully we will find the time and go visit them again. Thanks guys.

I like and support what Gary and his family is doing, upgrading an Old Hotel but the room (probably the cheapest in the hotel) where I stayed seemed like it was a work in progress as there was no trash bin or mirror, I had to shave in the public toilet. These are easy to fix and I'm sure they have been fixed but do not expect to much. The room was very clean, the Pictures on the wall were very cool and Gary and his wife were very gracious.

Place was lovely. The people there were very accommodating. Came with tea, biscuits, shampoo and shower gels. Wifi was great. Overall, great place to stay and would recommend to anyone looking for an affordable stay over.

I did not stay at the original booking listed as there was a problem with the room. I was relocated to the Solar Strand Hotel which Gary also runs. This was obviously a different type of accommodation to the original.

Lovely little terraced house, only 15 mins drive to Newport. The house has all the basic needs and was really clean and tidy. Very quiet on an evening. There's a Tesco superstore close by and petrol station. Would definitely stay here again.

Geraldine made it super easy to check in, the property was clean and exactly as described. She was also nice enough to let us know that one person in our group left a set of keys and help us collect them after check out. Overall a great experience. I would certainly stay with Geraldine again!

Lovely 4 bed terraced property with surrounding mountain side views. 20 min drive to Cardiff. Relatively close to motorway. Property is well presented, clean and tidy, has Wi-Fi and satellite TV . Geraldine was a great host, very accommodating. Thank you!

Good overall experience. kitchen could do with a overhaul and limited parking but superb view of the hill. We forgot our boy's teddy and Geraldine returned in the post which was very kind and we are grateful for.

We had a great stay at Crosskeyes. The town is small but it is a great base for exploration of South Wales. The house was very well equipped. We had all home comforts.

Lovely house in a nice neighbourhood. suited the needs of our 6 person party for the length of our stay of just over 1 week. Comfortable, warm and handy to public transport to Newport and Cardiff. Small shop and takeaway food acros the road and more available at Risca, a long walk or short bus ride away. Neighbourhood seems safe and secure. No problems cooking, only issue for us was lack of laundry facility nearby, not a fault, just something to be aware of if on a long stay. Geraldine did research and provide information to us on options a litte further away. Geraldine and Steve greeted us on our late Sunday arrival and were very helpful with advice during our stay. We would have no hesitation staying here again or at any other property provided by these hosts.

Lovely stay. Geraldine was an excellent host, communication was clear and easy, and everything ran very smoothly. Everything was as shown on the pictures. Beautiful scenery nearby, and Cardiff was just a short drive away with lots more to do there. Nice to have essentials provided, like loo roll, washing up liquid etc. Weather was beautiful for the whole of our stay!

The accommodation is great and largely met our needs as a group of 5. It was neat and kitchen was well equipped. Will definitely recommend but note that second toilet is outside, and the property is on a busy road with very limited parking space. However, we were always lucky to find parking space on the street when we needed it. Hosts responded to queries very timely and were very helpful. When we needed an extra HDMI cable they were so kind to make one available. Had a good stay overall.

I stayed at Luke's house for 3 weeks whilst waiting to move into my new place. I had the most amazing stay. Luke and his family are so kind, welcoming and polite. From the moment I arrived I felt at home. Luke's house is absolutely amazing!! it's pristine in terms of cleanliness and is beautifully decorated with all the mod cons. It's genuinely like a show home. The location of Luke's house is perfect. The shop is round the corner as well as two lovely pubs with in walking distance and a lovely park behind the propery. I had complete privacy and felt safe and comfortable throughout my stay. I cant say thankyou enough to Luke for welcoming me into his home and all his help with me adjusting to moving to a new area. Whatever you are looking for in a stay I would highly recommend staying at Luke's. I would say my stay here has deffintly been my best AirBnB experience by far!!! Oh and did I mention the garden!!! it's perfect to sit out in the sunshine with a glass of wine or coffee on the decking. Thankyou Luke!!!

Me and my boyfriend were supposed to arrive together in Newport, however, a day before I found out I would be going on my own. I've already booked the room with Luke by then, when I told him that I'll be attending on my own. The communication between me and Luke was fast, clear and easy. On the day of my arrival, I received the address of the room where I would be staying, when I discovered, it was too many changes for me to get to the place from Newports train station, and actually Newport where I wanted to be the most, as also Cardiff. I messaged Luke asking if there could be a possible refund made for me as I was gonna change my mind. Luke's response was: "I'll make a refund to you as soon as possible, and fair enough if you want to stay close to Newport". For those reasons, I am writing this review, although I never got a chance to stay at Luke's, but I stayed in a hotel room on my own, I will definitely come back and hopefully then I will be able to finally meet Luke and stay at his beautiful house. And the hot tub just sounds way too good to give it a miss xx

The flat was stylish and lovely; warm and homely and clean. Lovely to spend a couple of nights, plenty of space to chill and relax! The host was very good with communication; responding quickly to my queries. We had breakfast items left for us by the host which was a lovely touch. If I'm headed that way again I would definitely see if the flat was available!
