Danny is a nice guy he is always happy to help and is a good host. his place isn't bad either, but if I'm being honest I think the room was quite small for the price and the house is located down a footpath so the parking is on a car park near the house. Overall it was a good stay for a couple of nights.

Such a wonderful spacious room in a lovely quiet location. It was close enough to visit Cwmbran, Abergavenny and lots of other lovely places in the Valleys as well as the Brecon Beacons. Warne is a wonderful, attentive hospitable host and we felt as if we were home from home. Wish we had a longer time to spend painting, visiting galleries and countryside etc..hopefully next time. I had a pleasant stay at Warne's house. The room is en-suite, very clean and quiet. Warne is a great host, since I was on a motorbike he even went an extra mile and offered me to leave the bike in his garage. If you are looking for a place to stay in the area, Warne's house is the best choice.

Great Location, Nice and Friendly

Lynne and her partner were lovely, they even rung round all the pubs in walking distance to check if they were serving food as it was a Sunday evening. Luckily for us they weren't as it turned out that eating our home cooked dinner in the patio garden was one of the highlights of our trip! The cottage was clean and comfortably and felt a lot bigger than we thought it would. Would definitely recommend as a countryside get away.

Great lodging in a rural environment.

Lynne's cottage is a great place to stay! We were really lucky with the weather, so we spend hours just sitting in the little garden, cooking etc. The cottage is well equiped and kids can play around. Pontypool is just 10 Minutes away where supermarkets and shops are. We enjoyed staying at Lynne's place very much and would always recommend it to other travellers!

Yet another perfect Airbnb experience. Not only did Gareth fill our fridge with welcome goodies, but he took the time to show us everything we needed to know when we arrived late Thursday evening. On hand to offer helpful advice, guidance and ideas on where to go and how to make the most of our short trip, Gareth and Ceri were awesome hosts and the accommodation met all our expectations. Comfortable bed, immaculate finishing and attention to detail, every utensil you could possibly need and fabulous heating and hot water. The location was perfect for what we needed. Would highly recommend.

Great place to stay when visiting Brecon Beacons!

We had a lovely time at this beautiful place. So peaceful and quiet and yet not far to reach Abergavenny. Modern and clean interior of the flat, as described. Parking was available on site. Gareth and his wife were very welcoming. They had provided croissants, juice, milk, eggs in the fridge. Throughout our stay they were helpful with whatever we needed, be it more towels or tips for a trip the next day. I recommend it !

Barn that the flat in was very quiet and beautiful with a big garden. The flat we stayed was just immaculate and had a well equipped kitchen, clean, lovely bathroom and a comfortable bed. I highly recommend this place to anyone who wonders this area. Thanks our hosts again.

A little tricky to find, but Garet responded immediately with a text explanation. The apartment is fantastic. Everything looks like new and is of excellent quality. Gareth is a great host. Our car was even under his carport. He gave our good tips about the area and routes. For us were the wonderful days.

Lovely apartment, with off road parking in a gated courtyard. Gareth was very welcoming and gave us a tour of the place, showing us were everything was. He had put some milk in the fridge and left a pack of chololate biscuits. He also allowed us to store our bikes in their garage. I would definitely recommend this place and will consider staying again in the future.

Me and my boyfriend were supposed to arrive together in Newport, however, a day before I found out I would be going on my own. I've already booked the room with Luke by then, when I told him that I'll be attending on my own. The communication between me and Luke was fast, clear and easy. On the day of my arrival, I received the address of the room where I would be staying, when I discovered, it was too many changes for me to get to the place from Newports train station, and actually Newport where I wanted to be the most, as also Cardiff. I messaged Luke asking if there could be a possible refund made for me as I was gonna change my mind. Luke's response was: "I'll make a refund to you as soon as possible, and fair enough if you want to stay close to Newport". For those reasons, I am writing this review, although I never got a chance to stay at Luke's, but I stayed in a hotel room on my own, I will definitely come back and hopefully then I will be able to finally meet Luke and stay at his beautiful house. And the hot tub just sounds way too good to give it a miss xx

I stayed at Luke's house for 3 weeks whilst waiting to move into my new place. I had the most amazing stay. Luke and his family are so kind, welcoming and polite. From the moment I arrived I felt at home. Luke's house is absolutely amazing!! it's pristine in terms of cleanliness and is beautifully decorated with all the mod cons. It's genuinely like a show home. The location of Luke's house is perfect. The shop is round the corner as well as two lovely pubs with in walking distance and a lovely park behind the propery. I had complete privacy and felt safe and comfortable throughout my stay. I cant say thankyou enough to Luke for welcoming me into his home and all his help with me adjusting to moving to a new area. Whatever you are looking for in a stay I would highly recommend staying at Luke's. I would say my stay here has deffintly been my best AirBnB experience by far!!! Oh and did I mention the garden!!! it's perfect to sit out in the sunshine with a glass of wine or coffee on the decking. Thankyou Luke!!!

Photos definitely don't do it justice. The cottage is really cute, spacious, well decorated and spotless! The bed was super comfortable with nice white bed linen. Shower had lots of pressure and heat, the kitchen had all the essentials+good supply of teas and coffees. We brought our puppy along and she loved it as well, even had a play with the owners dog. Helene and Rob were great hosts and very friendly. The location was perfect for us as we wanted to go hike the local hills and The Breacon Beacons while still close to Bristol. We were impressed with the town - Usk. I'd recommend leaving an afternoon to have a look around and see the old buildings and pubs. This is now our first go to place for when we need to get out of the city and grab some fresh air.

We are just home after staying here from Friday to today. The owners Helene and Rob and dad are very welcoming and friendly. The accommodation was spot on, clean bright and cosy. Great place to explore Usk and beyond. We also went to Barry, and Ross on Wye as well as stopping off to look at the river and views. Didn't get chance to visit the gallery as it was closed today but plenty of good writeups about the quality of the gifts, jewellery and glass etc. Would deffo recommend this place. The owners are dog lovers so that helps make the stay more chilled and there are 2 cats, ducks and hens too. We had a present of freshly laid eggs on our doorstep yesterday which was a nice thought. This is a gem of a place to stay! We have just spent 3 days and from the time we booked it Helene has been an amazing host. She was quick to repsond to emails and was waiting for when we arrived despite being 3 hours later than we had planned to be there. The accomoadtion is just as you see it on the website but what made the differece was the little extras that Helene provided. There was a towel to dry our dog , a special balnket for him to sit on , tea and coffee in the cupboard as well as some milk in the fridge and Welsh cakes to eat with our cup of tea. The whole area is beauitful and lots of great walks for our dog. The gallery next door is worth taking a look in and Helene's father will be there to offer a warm welcome and a cup of coffee. I highly reccomend this lovely little cottage.

Beautiful place, peaceful setting and high standards. Recommended.

My family and me, we were looking for the end of world and we found it in Craig yr hafod, a very nice cottage surrounded by wild nature and sheeps; the pet allowance was also an important criteria for us. Everything was well organized by Imogen; the only issue we had, was the Internet: I didn't manage to connect my laptop to the cottage's router. The incoming signal of the mobile telephone system was weak, but strong enough to use an iPhone within the cottage. For us, the cottage was an ideal starting point to explore the Brecon Beacons National Park by car. Within 10 days we made 800 km, including an 1 day trip to the sea / Rhossili. The narrow way up to the cottage was a daily challenge (my car has a width of nearly 1.96m, the outer rear mirrors not included); with (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) Street View you can get an impression following the Oak Lane from the A4042 until (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN)'s view ends at a big tree; from here you still have some hundred meters to drive to the cottage. All-in-all we had a great time at Craig yr hafod and would ever come back.

We had a great stay at the cottage - it is fitted out with all necessary amenties required for a family stay, from bathrooms to kitchen to settling in at night for family games. The surrounding area is well worth exploring, and we had great fun going on a bear hunt with the children. The journey to and from the cottage is a little treacherous and we were glad of the fact we had a large family vehicle. We enjoyed oursleves a great deal and would recommend this to anyone who wants some peace and tranquility.

We had an amazing time in this incredibly secluded spot. Would very much recommend it so rustic and cosy but also very nicely decorated. Great kitchen and dining area. Not loads of indoor seating in the living area. An adventure to get to but that is very much part of the charm and it's definitely worth it. Couldn't have been better home for our group of 8 friends. We loved it.

This beautiful cottage is situated in a stunning location with its own private valley that offered so many opportunities for us to explore. The house itself is very comfortable and we made use of the fully equipped kitchen for big family meals. There was electric heating, but we loved lighting the Rayburn to heat the house and provide a cosy atmosphere. Care does need to be taken driving along the long and winding track, but this did not stop from using it as a base to explore the surrounding area.

We loved our stay at Imogen's place. It was peaceful, snug and had amazing views. We were quite happy to stay indoors and play games but also thoroughly enjoyed exploring the surrounding countryside. All in all a fantastic family holiday! Thank you!

After a stressful journey (probably didn't help ourselves that we had to try locate a rather tricky little location in the dark early hours of the morning) Imogen was a great help and very kindly stayed up to try guide us until we arrived! ... it was all most definitely worth it to wake up a few hours later to what we did- the cottage is so cosy & full of charm but the surroundings and view was just magical, absolutely breathtaking. We unfortunately didn't get the best weather so didn't get to do much exploring but hope to go back again in the future. Great host and communication, thank you so much for a wonderful week :-) x

A great stay in this beautiful barn. The barn is tastefully decorated, spacious and the outside space is beautiful. More than enough space for 6 guests. Quiet and peaceful and around a 10-15 minute drive to the nearest shops, etc. Rhi was very helpful in all we needed. No wifi at the property currently but this will be resolved shortly. We would definitely return for another peaceful weekend in the Welsh countryside. Thanks for a great stay!

We really enjoyed our stay at such a lovely and modern converted barn in such beautiful surroundings. Everything was really clean and easy to use/find. Rhi and Aaron were very welcoming and friendly making everything easy and problem free along with little Alfie (the residential dog). With a short break we just wish we had more time to explore and relax - we may need to return with some family next time!

The house was wonderful. My family really enjoyed staying in a converted barn. We loved that each bedroom had it's own bathroom and there was plenty of room for the four of us. The owners did a great job of decorating the house. The house is located on a lovely piece of land with sheep and cows all around. You definitely feel like you are in the country. This is a great house for kids. My daughter loved waking up and seeing the sheep and cows.

A beautiful setting; so peaceful, with lovely views. A bit off the beaten track, which was ideal for us, with quite a steep driveway leading to the property - no problem during the summer, but may be a little tricky to access in winter. The barn itself has recently been renovated using lots of reclaimed materials in a contemporary style. It was well equipped, and spotlessly clean. Rhi and Arun were great hosts - in touch regularly before our visit and on the day of arrival, so no problem at all with check-in; or on departure. They were always accessible for any queries, but we had all the privacy we wanted. We'll definitely be back!

We really enjoyed our week in this lovely property. There is loads to do in the surrounding area. We loved Usk castle, the nearby reservoir, walking in the hills and exploring Cardiff. Rhi and Arun were very friendly as was their dog who turned up and knocked on the door some evenings for a "chat". A very relaxing place to stay. The only downside was the lack of Wifi in the accommodation whilst we were there.

Staying at Rihann's place was amazing. We all had a fantastic time, the house was perfect. Big, clean and with a very good taste. Rihann also gave us a bottle of prosecco after finding out that it was my partner's birthday. She is also a very fun person and helped us finding things to do. Around the country there are amazing walks in the nature that we truly enjoyed. I recommend this house to everyone that wants peace and quiet and thank you very much Rihann for being a great host. We spent an amazing weekend!

Jo went above and beyond to make us feel welcome at her beautiful home. The self contained studio was impeccably clean, with a comfy queen bed, quality linens, and tv. The bathroom has an amazing rainfall shower, and the kitchenette was well equipped for simple meals with a microwave, mini fridge, kettle and toaster. The property was situated an easy 5 minute drive out of Caerleon, a lovely town with impressive Roman ruins and a museum that's a must-see. The property itself was stunning, with friendly ponies and gorgeous goats, and the area is perfect for country walks. Thanks Jo for a wonderful stay- we recommend this place highly to anyone wanting to enjoy the Welsh countryside with all the benefits of nearby towns and easy access. I stayed for a week with my 8 year old daughter, and we both wish it was for longer! We can't recommend this place highly enough!

Johannas place was a great little spot. Very comfortable and nicely furnished. It was very quiet with only the occasional rural noises- sheep baaing. Great spot to base yourselves when visiting the area. Roman ruins, castles, abbeys and the national coal museum are all within easy driving distance. There are also good pubs and restaurants and a local Sainsbury's. can recommend the Newbridge on Usk, great food but with prices that match.

Johanna and her family are fantastic hosts. I had plenty of communication before and during my stay, which was brilliant. The room is great, very comfortable and well equipped. The views from the property are stunning, even in deepest winter. I stayed for three nights whilst working in the area and it worked fine. The location is very quiet but only a few miles away from shops and pubs, so it has the best of both worlds. It would be a great location to base yourself for walking or touring around the beautiful countryside of South Wales. I had a very warm reception on a very cold January night when I arrived and Johanna was hospitable throughout my stay. I am sure she will be a super, star rated host in no time at all. I would highly recommend this room.

We had a lovely stay at the farm. The room was a medium-sized en suite double separate from the rest of the farm with its own entrance up a short flight of stairs on the outside of the building. There was a flatscreen TV on the wall, a bathroom with two sinks and a shower and a small kitchen-like area which had in it a microwave, fridge, kettle, toaster and plates, glasses and cutlery. Jo kindly left us a few delicious treats in the fridge. The sheets and towels were like new and the bed was comfy. Jo and Mike were friendly and welcoming when we arrived and gave us privacy during our four-night stay. Jo helpfully sent us directions to the farm before we arrived. Although in quite a rural setting, there was a local small Sainsburys a 5-minute drive away from the farm. The farm was in a handy spot, close enough to drive to Newport or the Brecon Beacons.

This little apartment is absolutely fantastic. The bedroom area is beautifully furnished and so restful. We had a wonderful night's sleep! The bed is really comfortable. There is a small kitchenette containing a fridge, microwave, toaster and kettle, which is really useful if you want to have the facility to make some meals. The bathroom has a really lovely, powerful shower. Johanna and Mike were so helpful. We cannot fault it at all and would recommend it wholeheartedly to anyone.

Jeff is a great host, I only stayed one night but I enjoyed my stay and conversation with Jeff and his girl friend. His dog is lovely too!

Jeff was fantastic. He was happy to accommodate a late arrival time, provided decent instructions for locating his bungalow, checked in advance to see if he could do anything to make our arrival easier and was extremely welcoming. Both Jeff and his lovely dog Freya were really friendly and the room was nice and clean with a very comfortable bed. The location is lovely and I would recommend staying with Jeff to anyone looking to stop in the area.

I stayed at Jeff's place with a friend, and we found him an amazing host, and his place was a very nice, quiet house, equipped with everything you need. Jeff was so caring, made us feel at home from the very first moment, gave tips where to go, etc. We wish we could have spent more time with him talking, playing with his dog, or walk the dog (Freya) in the neighbouring forests. He's one of the funniest people I've met, very friendly, so absolutely worth staying at his place! :) Definitely would like to go back, also good location for hiking in Brecon Beacons, lots of attractions in the neighbourhodd (castles, waterfalls, ruins of abbeys, amazing scenery). Hope to see you both soon! :)

It was so pleasant staying with Jeff. As my first Air Bnb experience I wasn't sure what to expect.. but from the moment I arrived I felt completely at home, and was greeted as if I was seeing an old friend. Jeff is a natural host, and has a lovely and excitable English Springer Spaniel named Freya (who was very well behaved) but also loved a good cuddle and play. The area is quiet, and it's a scenic journey to get to the small hamlet where the bungalow is. There's a river very close by and you can hear it when just outside but it's not noticeable from inside. I only stayed one night this time, but will definately be coming back to the area soon and would certainly love to stay over again. Thanks Jeff!

We had a brilliant stay at Kate's cottage. We found it in the dark with her clear instructions, and were immediately welcomed into a cosy space, with toys and books set out for our 5 year old. Fresh home-baked bread and eggs were a lovely touch, and we were able to relax in the cottage for a few days, soaking up the countryside and visiting relatives. The cottage was very well equipped, warm and comfortable, nothing was too much trouble, and we felt very welcome. We will hope to visit again.

The Old Rectory cottage was a lovely place to stay. Easy to get to, quiet inside and with great access to the region's walks and foodie hot spots (do yourself a favour and visit The Walnut Tree for dinner)! And most importantly - the bed was comfortable, ideal for a good nights sleep after a day of hiking and eating. Recommended.

My family and I had a splendid time at the Rectory Cottage. Upon reaching the cottage, we were pleasantly surprised by the loaf of homemade bread and freshly laid chicken eggs which our host, Liz, had prepared for us. Liz was also very helpful and gave us several suggestions on activities to do, one of which was a little walk through the sheep field beside her cottage to the Usk River, which my girls really enjoyed. Though small, the cottage was well furnished and possessed a very well equipped kitchen, complete with a dishwasher (which made washing up much more convenient). All in all, we had a lovely time and (if given a chance) I would love to re-visit the Recrory Cottage.

Rectory Cottage is a great place to spend a few days and enjoy the countryside with kids. It's a very well organized and cozy 2 bedrooms little house, with everything you need, such as television, internet, DVDs, comics, kitchen... The location is good to visit the area, especially the Brecon Beacons national Park which is fabulous for trail, even with kids.

Had a fantastic stay In the cottage at The Old Rectory. Our hosts could not have been more welcoming and the homemade bread and fresh eggs were a lovely touch. Highly recommend.

A wonderful barn conversation, fitted and furnished to the highest standard. We were 3 guys on a hiking weekend. Kate was very welcoming and helpful. Free eggs and homemade bread was a nice touch

Cathy was extremely welcoming on our arrival, and the photos don't do this house justice! It was a lovely stay, peaceful and warm and there were even Christmas decorations put up which really made us feel at home. Would highly recommend this house and will definitely stay again next time we visit the area.

The first thing I have to say is the pictures do not do this place justice. As our lovely host showed us around the accommodation and explained where everything was etc, we followed with mouths open at how amazing the place was. So much space and every detail taken care of. There is an amazing kitchen diner lounge which I have to say is where we spent most of our time when not out. It's a very social space with modern features and in no way cramped for five adults. The bedrooms were all well appointed two with en-suites and the third with a large family bathroom next to it. All I can say is wow! To the attic bedroom shower room!!! On the first floor is a beautiful lounge again big but also cosy feeling. There are all the homely touches too and practical appliances such as washing machine, tumble dryer and particularly handy for us a slow cooker which I used all week ensuring warm meal was available when we got back from hiking or a day out. Having said that there are plenty of restaurants and food outlets close by and Cardiff is less than 30mins away by car. I am sorry for such a long review but this place was amazing not only for how it looked and felt but also for its location. It is ideal for visiting South Wales and beyond.

WOW, these pictures do not do this accommodation justice. It is so big, so modern, so comfy and spotless! My family and I stayed here to celebrate my dad's 60th. We stayed here so we could visit the Brecon Beacons to go canyoning, which was only an hour away. Cathy, was easy to contact and checked we had everything we needed and more. The house was immaculately tidy and equipped with everything we could possibly need. It is certainly more than we expected, and we were so happy spending the weekend here. A big thank you to Cathy for letting us rent her amazing space.

This house is an amazing home! It absolutely blew us away!! This home will exceed all your expectations. It was stunning, clean, spacious, well looked after and Cathy &Steve were amazing hosts/facilitators!! We can't wait to go back!

This is a lovely modern house. Very spacious. Perfect for big families or more than one couple. It's stylish and very well finished. The host has made the effort to add extra touches, tea & coffee making facilities in each room, cookies & mini snacks, toiletries in each bathroom. We didn't stay long enough to make full use of everything or explore the area but I'd definitely recommend this house if you're planning on visiting Monmouthshire.

If you are planning a visit to Cwmbran I would highly reccomend this house. Everything was just as described, spacious, modern, clean. We loved the ensuite in CKings room.

Joanna's house is spacious and clean and the house information is thorough. Her communication was excellent and she was easy to contact during our stay. Four double bedrooms made it an excellent hub for my adult family and me to explore the local area.

Great location. The house was perfect. The kitchen was fully equipped. The communication between the host was excellent. The house was clean with lots clean towels and toiletries. The price was good . Thankyou very much

We had a fantastic night's stay with Serafina & Anil (& Brixton their black lab). Anil was incredibly helpful providing directions and contact details in advance and generally extremely welcoming and generous. The room was very spacious, the bed very comfy and the bathroom large and luxurious. And breakfast was delicious. Two big thumbs up, would love to go and stay again.

Agneta's place is an amazing place surrounded by trees, flower and nice view to the city. It is the place where you could connect to the nature and find peaceful moment. Same time you could also do activities like walking and seeing farm with horses and sheep. My daughter and I really had a wonderful time at Agneta's place. Agneta is a supper lovely and kind host we ever experience. When she knew we came with train, she had come down to pick us up and drove us to get things we need for our stay. She also drive us to get fish and chips. We feel much like home and closed one to her. We will surely come again if we visit the country again. Highly recommended if you look for a place to be peaceful and connect with self and nature.

This place is really nice , clean and comfortable. Rooms and views awesome. We had a great time there and Agneta is very good host !! Breakfast is prepared for perfection. Highly recommended !

My wife, Marley (our lab) and I had a superb one night stay. Ty Shon Jacob Farm is located on top of the hill (approx 1200' above the sea level), surrounded by a country farm with horses and a great car park. The drive to the farm up the narrow lanes was gorgeous and very secluded - if you think it doesn't seem right, continue and you'll eventually see the sign at the top! What a lovely place, there is everything you want and more. Our super room was very clean with a huge comfy bed and chairs to relax in while watching TV or using the free Wi-Fi. The bathroom was huge and to die for. The fresh flowers in the room were a lovely addition. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, wish we could have stayed more than one night and we will definitely return to this tranquil setting when next we visit our daughter. The cost per night is an absolute bargain!

When we arrived Agneta greeted us at the door, asked how our drive was and whether we had found her ok. She was very welcoming of our 4 month Rottie puppy who was extremely wiggly-bum and excited (Agneta also has a dog so is used to this). We were made to feel welcome immediately and were glad to have decided on the accommodation. We stayed in the family suite and all I can say is ... WOW! It really is a suite! It is stunning by day and by night. Decorated with rustic charm, the room boasts a kingsize bed, two singles, two sofas, a BEAUTIFUL open fire place/wood burner at the foot of the king bed, and a giant bathroom that I'm sure would be classed as a studio flat in some parts of London ha! Everything was clean and very cosy. There were blankets galore and Agneta had provided everything from bathroom essentials, towels and lotions; to a bottle of Red wine and a box of chocolates! The room also had a kettle, wardrobe and hairdryer. There is WiFi available although we didn't use it. It is truly a stunning place. We were a bit sceptical on arrival as you drive through a town with only 2 minutes to go according to your Satnav, but then the hill begins. You drive for a few minutes up very steep country roads, the road finally levels off but it is particularly pot holed (perhaps come in a different car if you're particularly precious about your wheels) although our car rides quite low (Insignia) and we survived. As did a fellow guests (MG.) Once you arrive however, you are at the top of a beautiful mountain and the fresh air and scenery just blows all of your journey from your memory. We will most certainly be back again in warmer weather for a longer time too. It's too special for a flying visit in our opinion. X

We hired the whole place out over the easter weekend. The house is beautiful and kept well clean. The host also left fruit and wine for us which was lovely. There wasnt a sitting room area for us all to socialise in together, but I assume this is because it is also mainly used as a bnb. We made it work with the dining room though. The house is at the top of a hill and then off the beaten track so I imagine in poor weather this would provide an issue for most cars, but theres a lot of tractors about and the host is really friendly so id imagine if you got stuck she would probably help you out. We stayed in the big family room with a baby and an 8year old, the beds were comfortable and there was plenty of space, so everyone was happy. To sum up, a lovely place, lovely host, amazing bathroom, beautiful views.

Agneta was a lovely host. The room we stayed in had a very nice en-suite bathroom and the bad was just enormous and comfortable. The Farm itself is in a very quiet and remote location, beautiful surroundings (cats, dogs, horses outside). Breakfast was very tasty and a huge portion. If anyone is after a lovely and peaceful location in Wales, this is your place to be. Thank you very much for everything Agneta!
