Your very own private, peaceful warm light and spacious 1 bedroom studio apartment which sleeps 2 people comes complete with a luxury shower room & fitted kitchenette which is equipped to a very high standard. The accommodation is set in a beautiful rural county side Llanover within the Brecon Beacons, we are situated 10 minutes from Abergavenny town centre. We are pretty rural so a car is advised.
  • Great quiet location. Perfect for walkers.

  • Incredible apartment - highly recommend it!

  • Great location. Even though it is out of the way, we felt comfortable and safe coming in and out. Being out of the way was also an advantage because you are surrounded by scenery. The place is Perfect for watching the sunrise. Thank you Leann for helping me in sorting out the little surprise, really appreciate you going out your way to organise that. It was a lovely stay overall.

  • This place is a real gem of an apartment. Stylish decor, fantastic quiet location, really well equipped apartment, clean, tidy, secure everything you could ask for, and as for the leather sofa ...well what can I say, I wish I was sat on it now. Oh and thanks for the Welsh cakes, really yummy.

  • Amazing little cottage. Set in a beautiful area. True hidden gem. Views from the hot tub are amazing. Everything you could possibly need is at the cottage. Janet and Mike are amazing hosts

    Necia2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Felt very welcome, the house is very cosy, and the countryside is stunning. Unfortunately the hot tub wasn't operational due to high winds which was understandable.

    Simon2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely fantastic break! Myself, wifey, children and Trigger the dog had such a great time at Forest Cottage. Janet and Mike are such lovely people and great hosts! Not that we needed much as we had everything we wanted, but if there was anything they were always there to help. The log burner was so nice, Mike was always topping the logs up and making sure we had enough. The hot tub was unbelievable, the views were incredible, and an hour a day is perfect! We must have had rain everyday but that did not dampen our spirits or effect our stay one bit. The cottage was so warm and comfortable staying in wouldn’t of been a problem! Although we did venture out with Trigger the dog, and saw some fantastic sights and views while walking the fields. We can’t wait to come back, especially to experience such a beautiful place in the summer.

    Wayne2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Such a lovely cottage with so much character and the most beautiful views from the hot tub. It's my second time staying here and would definitely stay again

    Natalie2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Will no doubt book again in the future, great place, perfect little getaway! FABULOUS!

    Paul2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Janet and Mike were perfect hosts! So friendly and helpful when asking about the local area and added lovely touches around the cottage including the fire being lit for our arrival! Highly recommend

  • Great place, amazing location

    Scott2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Really classy cottage, location is a beauty plus very ideal location if you looking to explore brecon and cardiff city at the same time. Do make sure it’s not raining if you don’t wanna miss the hot tub. Overall, I don’t mind going back again.

Pontypool (Welsh: Pont-y-pŵl [ˌpɔntəˈpuːl]) is a town that is home to approximately 36,000 people in the county borough of Torfaen, within the historic boundaries of Monmouthshire in South Wales It is situated on the Afon Lwyd river in the county borough of Torfaen. Situated on the eastern edge of the South Wales coalfields, Pontypool grew around industries including iron and steel production, coal mining and the growth of the railways. A rather artistic manufacturing industry which also flourished here alongside heavy industry was Japanning, a type of lacquer ware. Pontypool has a notable history as one of the earliest industrial towns in Wales. The town and its immediate surroundings were home to significant industrial and technological innovations, with links to the iron industry dating back to the early fifteenth century when a bloomery furnace was established at Pontymoile During the sixteenth century, largely due to the influence of the Hanbury family, the area developed its association with the iron industry and continued to consolidate its position in the seventeenth century, when the development of the town began in earnest. Throughout the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, the metallurgical and extractive industries of the area, along with the development of the canals and railways, provided the impetus to the expansion of Pontypool and its surrounding villages and communities. its very green here and we love out doors stuff like shooting fishing and mountain biking.. the walks are bracing or leisurely based on your inclination and the people are really friendly the outlying areas vary from the true Valleys where Tom Jones was born to buzzy Abergavenny and Usk
  • We have just came back from a long weekend at Serafinas b&b. Really relaxed the whole time. Bed was so comfortable and so was the sofa, couldn’t decide which one to sit and watch Netflix on. Choice of breakfast is provided in your room with tea coffee and also orange juice! I really recommend if you’d like a relaxed weekend away. Food at the Lower new inn is also a great choice for dinner, we went both nights! It’s about 5-6 minutes drive from the b&b. Thank you for a great stay.

Luxury Cabin is actually a hot tub room that came with the house - used the hot tub twice and stuck the thing on Ebay . Cabin has wifi , power, heating , a Tv and loads of DVD's . There is a double bed. There is an adjacent basic kitchen and a rustic WC and shower . The garden here is massive and full of poultry . We are in the wilderness of South Wales so if you visit in January bring a coat. Whilst the cabin is not the Savoy we are at least friendly.
Think of the cabin like comfortable camping with a bed electricity wifi and heating - and no packing up !
Holly Tree cottage is located in the south wales valleys on the edge of the Brecon Beacons - there are some fantastic cycle tracks around here and Garn Motorcycles (where Richie works) hire out push bikes so if you fancy cycling about let us know before you are coming and we can sort bikes out for you
  • Desperately needed a little get away! And we hit Jackpot!!! This was PERFECT! We only stayed for the night and it was a stormy rainy night at that, absolutely amazing nostalgic feeling with the rain and wind thrashing around the shed, it wasn’t to loud or anything because it’s fairly sheltered anyway! Was just perfect and cosy. We didn’t expect all the little extras either! And it was so well kitted out, warm inside, electric blanket, drinks and snacks, ‘kettle!’ TV & DVD player with an epic selection to choose from! We drove to a local pub for food and it was 10/10, everyone in the area was lovely and hospitable! The hosts were such friendly salt of the earth people, literally made you feel at home, so welcoming and attentive. We got to help ourselves in the little out kitchen and make Breakfast in the morning, we were joined by some lovely majestic Turkeys, hilarious hens, the cuuuuutest cats and even a random sheep! We’re going back! We recommend it, and for those who love the country, love that outdoors vibe and raw earthy feel, this is for you! Book now, enjoy as much as we did :-) Thanks again so much Rich and Hester. See you soon x x

We didnt mind the lack of sink in the bathroom previous guests have mentioned as we liked the wet room, clean and tidy and a comfy bed. Sharon and Jay shared a lot of handy information before our trip and we really liked our time here.

This old cottage was built in the 18th century, and boasts classic low ceilings, stone walls, and wooden beams. The newly converted house remains true to its historical past whilst adding a modern twist. The kitchen has been renovated as well as the bathrooms and bedrooms to provide you with the best experience. There is a bus stop at end of the road, a chip shop 2 doors away with delicious food. There is also local pub 5 minutes away that offers fantastic service.
The house is newly renovated. Comprising of 3 floors, walking in you will be greeted by a stone chimney with an electric fire. There are 2 sofas and a laundry area, with toilet joined. The kitchen leads to a spiral staircase which welcomes you to the second floor. On this floor you will find a single bedroom, a king size bedroom as well as the main bathroom. The steep staircase takes you to the attic conversion that has a double bed and en suite toilet. Historic wooden beams are visable on the top two floors, as well as the low ceilings. Additionally, there is a small back garden large enough to host a table and 2 chairs.
The neighbour's are great and there's a fantastic chip shop next door! There is also a lovely pub down the road. The road can get a little busy at school times due to parents collecting children but there shouldn't be too much traffic otherwise.

Perfectly located house close to Cwmbran town centre that can accommodate 2 guests in a comfortable double bed in a clean and fresh room
Welcome to my home and I hope the following gives you an idea of what you’re going to book? The House: I live in a 2 bedroomed house and you will have use of my second bedroom that has recently been decorated and has a new comfortable double bed. Downstairs there is a cosy yet bright living room which we will share and there is a TV with terrestrial TV plus Netflix & Amazon Prime....I’ll even let you have charge of the remote control :-) There is also a small stereo unit for entertainment plus Alexa devices throughout the house. There is a downstairs toilet (to save that dash upstairs!). Upstairs are the 2 bedrooms (yours and mine) and a bathroom – well actually a shower room with a good sized shower cubicle. In your room I will leave a towel to save you having to pack one as they take up so much room, some toiletries if you’ve forgotten anything plus there is a small / medium sized wall mirror for that last minute check on how gorgeous you are! There are hangars available on the doors to hang clothes from, plus you will also have the use of a number of drawers in the tall set of drawers to put your bits & pieces. There is a desk and chair in the room should you need a workstation and please be advised that although my computer is in your room but I won’t ever use it when you are occupying the space – your privacy and comfort is important to me. You will also find a folder with information leaflets in about things to do in the local areas (and some things a bit further afield). Outside is a patio area with table and chairs plus a parasol for those hot summer days (as the back garden is south-facing and gets lots of sun). I occasionally fire up the chimnea on chilly summer evenings when it’s too nice to be inside – just make sure you don’t sit too close to it or it’ll warm your wine or beer up! Location: The house is conveniently situated very close to Cwmbran town centre and you can easily walk there in just 5 minutes where you will find a good range of shops and most of the town is under cover. If you need to drive to the town it will take you about 2-3 minutes to do so and it is all free parking. There are 3 supermarkets within close walking proximity with one of them being open 24 hours should you have forgotten anything. In town is the main bus station (although there is a bus stop just 3 minutes’ walk from the house) with regular services to Newport (10 - 15 minute journey), Cardiff (approx. 30 minutes) and to other towns in South Wales. The railway station is a 15 minute walk from the house (or less than 5 minutes if you take your car and there is free parking at the station). ‘Downline’ is Newport (approx. 10 minutes) and Cardiff (approx. 20 minutes). It goes on to West Wales if you fancy a day out. The train line also goes ‘Upline’ to Manchester and calls at various historic towns / cities along the way. Cwmbran is conveniently situated for jumping on to the M4 and you can drive to Cardiff in under 30 minutes or Bristol in about 40 minutes. Other things to see or do in or around the Cwmbran area are: •Roman Amphitheatre and museum in Caerleon (just 15 minutes away). •Tredegar House & Duffryn Gardens in Newport (approx. 20 minutes away) •Heritage Railway in Blaenavon (approx. 15 minutes away) •Big Pit and the Iron Works in Blaenavon (Heritage site) •Landegfedd reservoir with walks and water sports available (approx. 10 minute drive) •Cwmcarn Forest Drive and Cwmcarn Mountain Bike Centre (less than 30 minutes’ drive) •Lots of castles…well this is Wales after all!! •A visit to Cardiff is a must as it’s a lovely friendly capital city where you will find museums; castle; the Principality rugby stadium; Cardiff Bay and loads more Parking I live in a cul-de-sac so parking can on occasions be tight but there is safe on-street parking. Miscellaneous: If you can’t get about to do some sightseeing as you are staying on business I’m sure you’ll be back at some point to discover what’s in the area. The house rules are fairly simple – no smoking in the house + no shoes / food / drink in the carpeted areas. The most important thing however is…..relax and enjoy yourself! I really hope you enjoy your stay with me and I’m looking forward to meeting you. Carole
Close to town centre and amenities. I live in a 2 bedroomed mid-link house.

  • Danny is an exceptionally good host. Warm, friendly and welcoming. His home is quirky, light and full of charm. Clean and tidy, with everything you could need from a stay. Danny himself is full of positive energy and has plenty of wonderful tales. He'd saved me from a last minute cancellation with another host and I am so glad, as staying at Danny's turned out perfectly. When I arrived I had a flat tyre and he fixed that for me as I am a bit useless with punctures. Communication was prompt and always pleasant in texts. His home is situated in a quiet suburb, with a shop just a short walk up through the paths and the hills are not far if you wish to explore. It's about 40 minutes walk to the station which takes you up to lovely Abergavenny and beyond the Brecon Beacons, worth a visit. I'd highly recommend Danny as a host to anyone needing a home from home in a quiet and safe environment.

    Gabrielle2020-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • Before booking I read Danny's reviews. They all said what a great host he is and I have to say they are correct. I booked the day before and was lucky to find Danny's place. Can't be faulted.

  • Really friendly guy who is out at work most of time. You can come and go as you please.

    Nigel2019-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • In addition to the lovely friendly welcome I received, I would also like to add that as a woman staying away on her own I can particularly recommend Danny’s place. I felt safe and secure.

  • What a fantastic little smart house owned by a generous, friendly guy. I booked this an hour before turning up at 9pm on a Friday night on a whim. Danny was still able to get everything ready for me even though he thought he had the night off! He picked me up from the nearby car park to walk me to the house, (only 1min walk) and the check in process was quick and easy. We stayed up talking for ages and there Danny was making up cups of tea and offering biscuits at 11pm! I’m sure he would’ve left us to it if we wanted but we were a bunch of chatterboxes hanging out in the kitchen. The house was clean and had good facilities including a smart TV in the bedroom. He asked what I wanted for breakfast and went out and bought me food for the morning, and offered to let us take fresh eggs, Welsh cakes and the bread he bought home. Located 15mins to Newport, it was a good location. I’d definitely recommend a stay to anyone, as a young (ish) female solo traveller I felt completely safe and comfortable here. Thanks Danny! See you again sometime I’m sure!

Cosy and bright single room available in modern house in a quiet cul-de-sac on the edge of the Monmouthshire countryside. There is room on drive to park your car (and room in our garage for a cycle or two!)
Little Mill is a tranquil village, nestled in the beautiful Monmouthshire countryside. . From the bedroom windows you can see sheep on the hillside and down the lane there are horses grazing in a field. As well as an abundance of birdlife for "twitchers", there are lovely walks or cycle rides to Llandegfedd Reservoir as well as the historic market town of Usk, where there are several pubs, places to eat, "Museum of Rural Life" and the castle. Goytre Wharf is a short distance away, which is a lovely place to spend an afternoon with a picnic alongside the Brecon and Monmouth Canal. Raglan castle, one of Wales' gems, is within easy reach by car or cycle and Abergavenny is only 9 miles away, with it's majestic Blorenge, Skirrid Fawr and Sugar Loaf mountains, rising up out the morning mist! A walker's paradise! Further afield are the spectacular Brecon Beacons! What more could you ask for in a well-earned mini-break? Or why not stay longer? Diolch Yn Fawr!
In Little Mill, there is the "The Halfway House", where you can enjoy a quiet drink, take part in a quiz and in the summer, play a round of Boules. Additionally, there is a church and a village hall. A short walk along the road you'll find "The Secret Garden" with an array of plants, gardening items, gifts and a tea shop.
  • Susan and Ian are warm and welcoming, and their home is so nice! This was the first AirBnB I've stayed at, and the bar has definitely been set high. As a plus, they're really interesting people! So my brief stay with them was full of stimulating conversation over a cup of tea. If I was in the area for any longer, I would have definitely gone on one of the walking trails they suggested. Would highly recommend, and look forward to going back someday!

Included in price: ~ WiFi ~ Towels ~ Toiletries ~ Hairdryer ~ Washing machine ~ Breakfast (cereal, eggs, toast etc - help yourself) ~ Television in the bedroom with Now TV & Netflix.
The house is 100 years old, with a few quirky features such as a fireplace and original floorboards in the bedroom. Just as a heads up, the floor boards do squeak! You will share the house including kitchen and bathroom with me, my partner Tom, and my cat Magic. You will have your own mini fridge in the kitchen and a drinks cooler in the bedroom. Your bedroom has a lock on the door. You have a television in your room with Netflix and catchup tv, and a digital radio, and Fibre Fast WiFi across the whole house.
The house is at the top of a hill with stunning views. It is on a quiet, friendly street where most of the neighbours know each other. We are surrounded by hills and trees in this area of Wales, it is the perfect location to get away from city life! You are close to a Tesco and a short drive away from Cwmbran, Usk and Abergavenny. You are less than half hour from Newport, and less than an hour from Brecon Beacons National Park, or Cardiff. There is a lot to see and do in the local area, have a look at 'visit Monmouthshire' or 'visit Caerphilly' or 'visit Cardiff' websites. There is a lot of castles, areas of natural beauty, walking and cycling paths, and museums and old towns. I also could recommend some lovely pubs and farm shops in the area!

  • I arrived, bedraggled after cycling from Bristol. Vanessa and Tom are perfect hosts and helped me settle in, in my tired state. I only stayed one night and found them very accommodating. The house is very much as described with a large kitchen/diner with tea/coffee etc and a continental help yourself breakfast, ready for you in the morning. A large double bedroom with nice bedding and towels and a spacious/modern bathroom. Nice and quiet at night so I think you are assured a good nights sleep. The house is an attractive Victorian looking house, elevated with long views across the valley. Can't fault, thank you guys!

We stayed over the weekend when storm Dennis was hitting Wales. • The house was well equipped and very clean. We were secluded and had our privacy, yet we were still just a short drive away from beautiful scenery and the shops. We would absolutely stay here again!

  • We spent six days at Caithness starting on February 15th. Caithness is a fabulous place to stay with family or friends. The house is spacious, well maintained with plenty of space. It accommodated our family very well. It included five Grandchildren ranging from one to nine and the6 enjoyed the games room and the books too.. There has been a lot of thought into making this house as comfortable and well maintained as possible. It is very well equipped with a lot of helpful extras to help in in the kitchen. Although we had poor weather we went to a Pantomime at Congress theatre in Cwmbran and made use of the park and leisure centre. We could see it would be a great place to stay in the Summer to make use of the bikes and canoes. It wasn’t far to Cardiff where we spent a day exploring and avoiding the rain. For a place to stay where you can rely on it being well maintained and reach high expectations then Caithness is a good choice. I hope we come back in the future.

  • We loved staying here as a group of 7! We stayed here to celebrate our graduation at the ICC. We had a perfect weekend as a group in the house ☺️

  • I would have no hesitation in recommending this accommodation. Great value for money and a perfect host in Alex. We had a fantastic time at Caithness over New Year and the couple of welcome bottles of bubbly went down well along with the chocolates. We were a group of two families (4 adults & 5 kids) and had more than enough room. The bedrooms are particularly big and the beds themselves are very comfy. Our boys loved the games room especially having taken their PS4 to run through the projector and the girls turned the office into their own den come beauty parlour. You really can swing a big cat in this place!! Views are stunning from the back of the house down to the canal which is also fantastic for a stroll. I’m trying to think of something you’d need to take with you but I can’t! Proper home from home Don’t think about reserving this place...... just book it!!! well done Alex and thanks again

  • This a terrific house and a great launch pad to explore the beautiful valleys of South Wales, the Black Mountains, Brecon Beacons and the history that surrounds you.

    Mark2019-12-12T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful house surrounded by beautiful scenery! As soon as you step into the house there is a lovely welcome message from Alex sitting on the front table and you're blown away by house big, clean and modern the house is. My family and I were having Christmas early as we wouldn't all be together on the day so Alex very kindly but up a tree and lots of Christmas decorations early for us as well as leaving us a few essentials: Quality Street, Mulled Wine and Mince Pies which was a lovely touch! The bedrooms were all lovely and light with the main bedroom having a huge floor or ceiling window looking out over the canal at the bottom of the garden. The games room was a perfect addition allowing us to get our competetive side out playing pool, table tennis and air hockey! The kitchen was well equipped with everything needed to make a Christmas dinner and everything else in between. We took lots of walks by the canal and we were lucky to have cold, frosty but sunny weather which made it all look beautiful. We would not hestiate to come back, we're just trying to decide when! Thank you for much Alex for a magical weekend!

    Katie2019-12-02T00:00:00Z

  • I would highly recommend linda as a host. My daughter and her friend stayed with Linda for 6 nights while they were attending a summer intensive. Her hospitality was that of utmost excellence. The girls felt very comfortable and relaxed at Linda's. She helped them with all the information they needed to get about Newport. The girls said it was like home from home. Which for a parent it is comforting to know they are ok. They will definitely be in contact with Linda if they are in the area again. Many thanks Linda for everything.

My home is near Blackwood 10 miles from Caerphilly in Cwm Argoed, 1 mile from the Maes Manor hotel, 1 mile from Pen Y Fan pond. Large detached bungalow set in a quiet semi rural location just 1 mile from The Maes Manor hotel which makes my location idea for people attending functions at the hotel. The location is only 2 miles from the former mining town of Blackwood, 1 mile from Pen Y Fan pond which is ideal for walking and picnics, and 1.5 miles from a large caravan park, 10 miles from the historic town of Caerphilly (with good public transport links), 16 miles from the Brecon beacons andonly 20 miles from Wales' capital city of Cardiff. There are good public transport links to Cardiff with trains running regularly from the local train station (3 miles to station). There is off road parking in my private drive for up to 2+1 cars.
The neighbourhood is a small hamlet in a quiet cul-de-sac. Being quite remote, access is via a lane where you turn into a small terrace, go past 12 terraced houses to 6 detached private houses at the end of the road (so you can as much noise as you like!).
  • Jeff is an incredibly welcoming host; I felt right at home and nothing was too much effort. His house is in a lovely quiet location right near the Oakdale Business Parks and has plenty of parking space. Freya the spaniel was an added bonus. I’d happily recommend this AIRBNB to anyone.

  • Nancy was so welcoming, lots of extra touches like fresh eggs and get comms. The accommodation was super clean and very cute. Very rural and you probably need a car. The local village wasn’t that cute though...facilities a bit limited and pubs didn’t serve food on Saturday for lunch.

    Jo2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • If you’re looking for a quite remote place this will definitely be for you , A little daunting first time going up the mountain but well worth it when you’re at the top

  • Had a wonderful stay! Nancy was very accommodating, there was food for breakfast and if you need anything Nancy would help in any way she could. Dispite the weather views were beautiful and we enjoyed how cosy our accommodation was, with reliable heating. I would stay here again is a good location to drive to the national park, Newport and Cardiff. 🙂

    Stephanie2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay at Nancy’s place! Sadly the weather was awful but Nancy greeted us from the car with a nice big umbrella and as soon as we were in, it was lovely and warm and cosy! Fresh eggs were left for breakfast and Nancy was very helpful in her local knowledge and helped us to find a takeaway that would deliver! The roads up the mountain are pretty steep but more than worth it for what I should imagine are beautiful views on a clear day! 10/10 would stay again!

    Dan2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • After winding your way up a mountain road you arrive at a cosy and comfortable retreat. Views across to the Brecon Beacons (if the weather allows!), you will sleep well, eat a nice provided breakfast of eggs on toast and nice cup of coffee. Blaenavon is an old village and used to be a mining and ironworks area. There are museums and many attractions in the area depicting these industries. It's also in the Brecon Becon national park with a great many walking trails and out door activities
  • Lovely little miner's cottage, centrally located to walk into town and many of Blaenavon's attractions, but also easy to get into the National Park or a trip to Cardiff. Well equipped cottage with many thoughtful extras which take it above the ordinary.

  • Unfortunately due to our dog being unwell we had to cancel last minute so didn’t actually get a chance to stay but Josephine’s communication, understanding and response time to questions was excellent. May rebook for future:)

    Mandy2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • A real gem. Warm and cosy and immaculately clean. Close to shops and two really excellent restaurants. Josephine responded really quickly to any queries we had and our dog Charlie was also made to feel welcome, with a dog basket and toys provided! Would highly recommend

  • A well furnished cottage in a nice location. Ideal base for a short trip away.

    Nick2019-12-03T00:00:00Z
  • Josephine’s cottage has everything you need for a walking trip to Wales. It’s a warm and cosy home with a nice fire in the family room. There’s a clean and tidy kitchen with all basic equipment needed to prepare meals, has a great shower, and comfy beds. The village has plenty of interesting places to visit, Big Pit and the Iron Works being particular favourites. With good basic shops and supermarkets near by.

    Anita2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was a pleasant surprise in the heart of Blaenavon with wonderful outdoor drives and activities for the family. The host was very quick with communication and support where needed. We enjoyed our stay. Thanks Josephine.

  • We loved staying at Rachel's place. This self-contained studio is warm and inviting, with lots of interesting touches of African decor. It has everything you could want and is comfortable and spacious enough for a single traveller or a couple. It's located very conveniently for Cwmcarn Forest. Rachel was a wonderful host, very communicative, helpful, and inviting. We would love to stay here again and would recommend others to do the same!

  • You'd never expect such an amazing apartment with such lovely views across the valley from the patio doors, from looking at the house from the front. Lovely African furnishings, a comfy bed, everything you need all in one space! A wonderful place to stay and Rachel was very welcoming and easy to communicate and arrange check-in with. Thanks!

    Miriam2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • Rachel was again most wellcomming host, her place is ideal for my biking trips. Great views from the landing.

    Roman2019-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • If you get a chance to stay in this lovely place, TAKE IT! The space has everything you need but you will probably spend most of your time sat on the balcony looking at the beautiful views. The bed is lovely and comfy, the fridge and cooking equipment are perfect for making dinner and the shower was beautifully clean. Rachel was a perfect host, present but not intrusive and made us feel very welcome. Would definitely stay again.

    Stella2019-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • Nice comfortable studio with little kitchen area and very comfy bed. Nice and quiet and dark so we had good nights sleep. Entrance steps into Studio are quiet steep and shower quite narrow so may not suit those with mobility issues. Very good value and Rachel is a great host. Will hopefully stay again when in area.

  • We really enjoyed staying in Owen’s home. It’s comfortable and you’ll find everything you need in the house 👍. There is a grocery and all the shops you can walk to on the same street as the location of the house, and that is very useful. I’ll recommend this house to friend and my family interested in a house in that area for future trips When our next opportunity of holiday in Wales comes up we will probably stay in Owen home again with a lot of pleasure. Owen is a very kind and reactive host. Thx for all Owen before an during the stay at your home Best regards Yannik

Throughout the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, the metallurgical and extractive industries of the area, along with the development of the canals and railways, provided the impetus to the expansion of Pontypool and its surrounding villages and communities. its very green here and we love out doors stuff like shooting fishing and mountain biking.. the walks are bracing or leisurely based on your inclination and the people are really friendly the outlying areas vary from the true Valleys where Tom Jones was born to buzzy Abergavenny and Ask

My home is near Blackwood 10 miles from Caerphilly in a a small hamlet called Cwm Argoed 2 miles from Blackwood, 1 mile from the Maes Manor hotel, It is a large bespoke bungalow which has a wood burner in the main room. 1 bedroom available (1 single with a pullout that makes a double bed), Please be aware that there is one network that has poor coverage Vodafone, being semi rural there is a short tight lane to get to the village. Please note I work shifts so contact before booking thanks
Large detached bungalow set in a quiet semi rural location just 1 mile from The Maes Manor hotel which makes my location ideal (and much cheaper) for people attending functions at the hotel.
  • Jeff's place is a home not a hotel . As a 53 year old female traveling alone I felt safe and at ease with Jeff and Freya the Spaniel . I love dogs so the combination of a dog and shag pile carpets didn't bother me but some people may feel differently . Jeff had plenty of great tips for days out and local sights . The bungalow is in a cul de sac at the bottom of a steep valley with forest on all sides and a river that can be heard from the bedroom . There are plenty of forest trails to walk and again I felt at ease wandering around for the 2 weeks I stayed , the locals are very friendly and helpful .There is a bus stop on top of the hill with busses every hour or so , Cardiff is easy to get to by bus , a Mega bus ticket can be bought from the driver for £28 and is valid for one week and covers from Cardiff and Newport in the south to the Brecon Beacons and around to the north . Jeff's place is in-between the two , culture and nature , something for everyone .There are plenty of shops 2 miles away in Blackwood , up the hill to catch the bus , this was also a pleasant walk on a mostly level asfalt path surrounded by trees and with great views over the valley . This was my first Airbnb stay , easy to book and honest reviews of what to expect . I already have plans to come back again next year . Thank you again for everything .

  • We only stayed at Jeff's for a single night, but it was as relaxed as if we had been visiting for years. He is a great host and happy to provide where he can. The house is well set up, clean and easy to find. We had both rooms and found the beds very comfy. Freya the spaniel is also a sweetie, and helped with the homely feel. Thank you so much Jeff and Freya!!
