The "Casita in Ojo" is staying open during this time of the Coronavirus. Extra cleaning precautions are being taken, as per the CDC guidelines, washing with the recommended disinfectants. The casita is a 1-bedroom cottage with a private patio and only a 12 minute walk to Ojo Caliente Mineral Springs and Spa. It is easy to find and ideally situated to see the sites such as: Rio Grande del Norte Monument, Santa Fe, Taos, and Ghost Ranch, all of which are one hour away.
This casita is perfect for vacations, sabbaticals, or time away to get your book done, to plein air paint or photograph the area (Carson National Forest is a five minute drive away). It has a queen size bed and a love seat that converts to a small single bed. There are four local establishments to eat just a short walk away and a post office and a convenience store are a bit further. The casita is ideally situated to explore the magnificent, enchanted area. The host has degrees in history, traveled extensively and speaks English and conversational German. He lives in his own home on the property.
We are a 12 minute walk (or 2 minute drive) away from the Ojo Caliente Mineral Springs and Spa.
  • David’s casita is the best Airbnb Ive stayed at. At an incredible value, and 2 minute drive to Ojo Caliente Hot Springs, you cannot beat this deal! Quiet, so cozy, well equipped kitchen, bathtub, comfy living room, soft bed and lovely, private patio area! Enjoy yourself!

    Valerie2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • The Casita is a lovely little home away from home with special touches of local art work adorning the walls. The kitchen was well equipped enough for me to cook all my meals and I saved lots of money by avoiding the $200 plus rooms at the spa down the road. I enjoyed walking to the hot springs and the enclosed patio is nice to enjoy if it is warm enough. David was very responsive to all communications and gave good directions.

    Jenn2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Words cannot describe how amazing this wonderful Casita is and how great our host David was with everything. If I could give 11 out of 10 stars I would. We hope to be back soon. Highly recommend!

  • We had a very relaxing getaway to celebrate our birthdays at Ojo Caliente. It was a nice walk to the hot springs from the casita.

  • Little gem in Ojo! A 2-minute drive to the springs or a 10-minute walk. The casita has all you need and is super cute. A perfect retreat place. I will definitely be back!

  • This place was cozy, featured great local art, and we loved being able to cook in the full kitchen. The place was plenty warm with space heaters, we had the kitchen supplies we needed, and the location was right around the corner from Ojo Caliente hot springs. I would definitely stay again. :)

    Molly2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • David's casita is a comfortable, sweet home-away-from-home that is perfectly situated for enjoying Ojo Caliente Hot Springs or jaunts to Santa Fe, Abiquiu and Taos. Lots of art on the walls and interior touches made the place visually nice. Very private and quiet.

    Leah2020-01-20T00:00:00Z

The Taos Cool Bus (Tilly) used to deliver ice cream treats all over Taos. She was a popular fixture among kids of all ages. Sadly, Tilly had to retire in 2013. It is with great joy then, that Tilly has "reincarnated" as a unique Airbnb rental. 100% off-grid, she is powered by solar and wood. She even has a portable flush toilet! Tilly's resting place boasts amazing sunset views and tons of tranquility for guests who want to have an authentic, off-grid, Taos hippy experience.
Tilly is an authentic, converted hippy bus. There is no electricity but she comes with a solar phone/laptop charger, solar-powered lights, an outdoor grill and charcoals for cooking. Inside there's a woodstove (with a hot water reservoir) for warmth and cooking. The "bathroom" is outside and consists of a private, enclosed, portable toilet and a solar shower (if you aren't familiar with a solar shower, please look it up so that you understand their limits). Your experience in the bus is more like camping than staying in a motel and we've priced it accordingly--less expensive than many campgrounds but with more privacy and amenities. Plus, there's no set-up to do, it's in a beautiful setting, is very cozy, and the sunsets and views are amazing!
Tilly is located within walking distance of a post office, the historic Ranchos Church and the historic Ranchos Plaza. Also within walking distance (1/2 mile) are the Ranchos Grill, Oh My Garden restaurant, Old Martina's Hall bar and restaurant and a few galleries.
  • This place is sooo cute. I will definitely be coming back. Perfect little spot to enjoy nature. The host Kelly is very attentive to your needs. Checking in and out was so simple.

    Jennifer2019-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • The value for this unique experience can't be beat. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay in Tilly, as it had been unlike any other place I have stayed before. Tilly was exactly as I had expected and in a nice, quiet location. Thank you to Kelly for allowing me to add Tilly to my first New Mexico experience!

    Shane2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • A fun and funky place to stay! Nice views, very cozy and totally unique!

    Nancy2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • This place is amazing! If you are looking for the hippie experience, Tilly the bus is the way to do it. Great location just t the south of Taos and the drive into town is absolutely gorgeous with the mountains in the backdrop. Kelly was great to provide us with everything that we could possibly need. Even setting us up with firewood in the wood stove in the bus. Thanks again!

    Angel2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • The bus is a cozy spot for a night in Taos. A quick ride from historic downtown it’s the perfect place to sleep in the outdoors without camping. The fire pit was a great bonus! I even got dog and cat snuggles which is my fav! Kelly was very responsive. The bus has cots which were great. I used my bed roll on it and slept soundly. It’s a gorgeous spot to wake up and start your day!

  • Kelly & Teddy are super awesome folk with an awesome spot there just on the outskirts of town, it's absolutely, I will be staying there again next time thru!!- DASHDOWN

  • Incredible stay. This beautiful house has everything you could want or need for some time away, and is situated right on a peaceful river. Gorgeous views, relaxing atmosphere.

    Mairin2020-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • Ah, so nice to hear the Embudo River and step right out onto the deck from the casita. Just 30 minutes from my new favorite restaurant in Penasco called Sugar Nymphs! Gary was a great host! We hope to return again when our time allows.

    Marla2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • I knew I was going to like this space but I never imagined how magical it would be. From the interior homey feeling to the spectacular deck over looking the river and that hammock! A walk away to Vivac Winery and a great hiking road, I cannot wait to go back!

    Lisa2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Gary was such a pleasure to speak with and was extremely helpful in helping us find wonderful things to do locally. The house was in pristine condition and very pleasant to stay in. The sound of the river at night was one of the highlights of our stay! Along with Gary's homemade cookies! We would definitely return to the Riverside guest house.

    Jackie2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Cute house with all that you need for a nice stay. The view from the bed in the morning was amazing and the stars at night were great.

    Martin2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is awesome and being right on the river was so peaceful. Gary was so easy to communicate with and made sure everything was in order and went above and beyond making sure everyone was comfortable. He gave different options on directions in case we wanted to take the scenic route. (You should always take the scenic route!) Looking forward to visiting again!

    Wendy2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Gary is a sweetie. He left a personal touch that was really sweet for us to walk into later. He came over and helped us get the hot tub going when we had a problem. The river and view of the mountains is gorgeous and the hot tub is fantabulous (great showers too.) Rejuvenating to be in nature like that, my sweetie and I luved it.

Roybal Ranch is a gated property that is just off of the main road, offering a quiet setting. Come relax in this cozy upstairs space in beautiful Northern New Mexico! Enjoy the mountains, enjoy the scenery! This area has plenty of outdoor activities such as hiking, fishing, rafting, geocaching, camping, skiing and snowboarding and is just off of the famous High Road toTaos. We are located an hour away from Santa Fe and a scenic 30 minutes from Taos.
There are two bedrooms in this upstairs apartment along with a futon in the living room. Wifi, basic satellite tv, and some board games are provided. Please note there is no kitchen or cooking space, but there is a mini fridge, microwave, and Keurig machine available. Upon arriving, you will find a small complimentary goody basket (keurig pods one per person per day, and a combo of candy, chips, granola bars, sodas, ect.)
There are no grocery stores in town. Taos would be the closest area (just to keep in mind if you want certain foods or snacks). We do have a Family Dollar store along with a locally owned general store as well as a few restaurants and gas stations in town. We live in a quiet part of town and a wonderful area for star gazing!
  • Great place! Perfect for what we needed. Would definitely stay again and hope to soon!

  • Awesome place and great host! Definitely a great place to stay!

    Shea2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • The pictures don’t do this place justice. It is very well kept & the bedrooms are huge! A serene location with a quick 15-20 minute drive to Sipapu, is exactly what we wanted.

    Rachel2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Thanks!

    Rebecca2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • This place was wonderful, took a guys weekend trip to go skiing at Sipapu. We arrived right where it said it was. (Google Maps) It’s nice and spacious and when you walk in you feel right at home. There was nice touches like snacks and water, each room as it’s own Keurig, which is nice so early risers don’t disrupt others. I stayed in the bed adjacent to the bathroom, the bed was super comfortable and bedding was nice. This place was great will definitely be staying here again! Thanks Andrew and Justina!

  • By far one of the best AirBnBs I’ve ever stayed at. The communication and hospitality from the owners are five star.

    Jon2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place, very accessible to all the local ski resorts

    Dalton2020-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • We used “The Ranch” for a ski trip to Sipapu and the whole family had a great time. Helpful tips like the local Sugar Nymphs restaurant were great (fantastic pizza) and great rates. My youngest loved feeding the cat and I loved the price.

Tucked behind the Dixon Plaza, and situated directly above the Acequia de la Plaza, the Long House is one of the true gems in Dixon. Built in the 1700s and lovingly renovated in the 1990s, the Long House offers a unique and historic experience in the heart of Dixon. Centrally located off the Dixon Plaza, you'll be a five minute walk to the Coop, library, post office, and Zuly's Cafe. It's a great place to relax and enjoy Dixon and as a home base to venture and explore northern NM.
3/28/20 Update: Due to covid 19, orders given for people to stay home and my concern for my family and the communities of northern New Mexico, I have made some temporary changes. Since access to testing is a challenge and the symptoms can mimic the flu, if you or anyone in your party are sick in any way prior to your arrival date or, if you are traveling from a known hot spot of covid 19, please cancel your reservation as soon as possible. I've also removed the Instant Book option so that I have the option to connect with you prior to accepting a reservation. I increased the minimum stay to 5 days with a day blocked out on either side of each reservation, and I've also blocked out the rest of April. The extra day will allow for the additional cleaning and disinfecting that is recommended in between guests. Guests should still reach out to the caretakers prior to their arrival date, but face to face interactions with the guests will be kept to a minimum and phone calls and texts with the caretakers should be used. Since the washer and dryer are in the caretakers' living space, I've removed access to it to protect their them. I hope that you understand the intention to keep you and everyone safe during these unprecedented times, and hopefully soon, things will return to normal! While some businesses have temporarily closed, the Coop and Sugar Nymphs have remained open and are offering pick up and curb side options so you can get what you need. Call ahead to any of the places nearby to find out if they're open and their hours of operation. **** Having recently traveled to Europe and Canada, and having stayed in airbnb listed apartments managed by hosts who manage many properties with minimally equipped kitchens with sparse furnishings, I realized that the airbnb experience of being a guest in someone's home is becoming less common. The Long House was my mom's house, where my family and I have gathered since the early 90's. I built the Addition on the back of the Long House where she painted and practiced her photography and entertained friends and family from the area and all over the world. In that spirit, I have opened up my family home to the airbnb community. I am proud to let you know that this is my home and I live here too! The art and the furnishings and the kitchen (without a microwave!) are the way that I want it because I return each year with my family for extended stays. I work on the house and the property so that you too can enjoy being in this special place! New for 2019, I'm super excited to share that I laid flagstone on the back patio! I bought 4 tons of Colorado red flagstone from my friend Mark Saxe at Southwest Stoneworks, just up the road in Rinconada, and worked on leveling the ground and installing the flagstone. I've wanted to lay flagstone on the back patio for a very long time and I'm so happy that I had the time this year to get it done. In 2017, I replaced the kitchen countertops with granite and an undermount sink and new pulldown faucet, added a great, new sectional couch with lots of pillows and other new furniture, more lighting and floor coverings, and a new refrigerator to make the Long House even more comfortable and inviting! Check out the photos to see the new countertop, sectional couch and comfy chair in the living room, and all new photos of the rest of the house. Time spent at the Long House is the kind of quality time that we so rarely get elsewhere. The thick, adobe walls help to keep the house quiet and cool in the summer and warm in the winter. As there is rarely any traffic by the house, you will be amazed at how quiet it is. This summer, we awoke to the sounds of the Rio Embudo as there is still snow runoff rushing down the valley. The acequias are full, and the sounds of the wind and the rain and the thunder greeted us every day. The front porch is a great place to enjoy a morning cup of coffee and to greet the neighbors on their morning walk. The back porch is my favorite spot as the house is perched above the acequia and the lower fields that run to the river. The expansive view of the Dixon valley and the hills beyond is an inspiration. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are always a treat on the back patio table. The beauty of being in Dixon is that time seems to move more slowly. A walk up to the Co-op for some food or a little bit farther to La Chiripada Winery to get a bottle of wine for dinner is enough to break up a perfect day spent enjoying time being at home. Our neighbor's dog, Romeo, loves to make the rounds in the evening and will often stop by to say hello! He's super friendly and loves a good scratch by his tail. He's getting older now, and unfortunately is no longer able to control his bowels, so keep an eye out for him and his droppings! Named after its construction, the Long House was built by adding one room at a time from east to west in the 1700s. As the original family expanded and grew, another room was added next to the last room built. Room to room access used to be through doors that opened to the exterior, as there were no doors between rooms until much later. You’ll find that each room still has a door that opens to the exterior (except the bathroom), although the yoga room’s old exterior door now opens into the sunroom, which I added in the 1990s. Unique and lovingly renovated, the Long House encompasses 1800 square feet of living space and boasts traditional vigas with split cedar and rough cut, plank ceilings, 2.5’ thick adobe walls with traditional mud plaster on the exterior, and diamond point plaster on the interior walls. The secluded back porch area offers a wonderful setting for meals and a gorgeous view of the Dixon valley and Rio Embudo, while the front porch offers a wonderful view of the sunsets. As someone who loves to cook, the full kitchen has everything you'll need, including a new natural gas stove with oven, coffee grinder and maker, toaster oven, blender, frig/freezer and all the cooking utensils and pans you’ll need to enjoy a home cooked meal. A microwave you will not find, though. The master bedroom has a king size, Sleep Number bed, with a new, gel foam mattress topper, a wood stove to take off the chill, and private access to the back porch. The second bedroom has a queen size bed, private access to the front porch, and connects directly to the yoga/meditation room (with yoga mats included) and the adobe sunroom added onto the front side of the yoga room. The entire house is heated with radiant and baseboard heat, and each room has its own thermostat (except for the sunroom). The bathroom features a clawfoot bath tub for long, slow baths and modified for showers too. If you need to do laundry, the washer/dryer are located in the Addition, where my caretakers live. Just coordinate with the Gabrielle or Noel and they'll give you access to the laundry.
Early November each year, the Dixon Studio Tour features the renowned, local Embudo valley artists and their work. Visit their studios, talk to the artists and see their work from the past year. It's an exceptional opportunity to go places in the area that are only available during this weekend, and to purchase art directly from the artists. November in Dixon is not to be missed! The website has the listing of the artists and a map to their studios and a preview of what you'll find. Use your favorite search engine to check out the Dixon Studio Tour (for some unknown reason, airbnb won't let me show you the website address) According to my neighbor down the lane who teaches archeology at Barnard College and spends his summers in Dixon, the Dixon Plaza was the prior location of the Picuris Pueblo. Old pottery shards can be found on the lanes and pathways as you walk. And if you have the pleasure of visiting in the summer, be sure to check out the farmer's market each Wednesday starting around 3:30 pm in front of the Coop in June, July, August and into the fall!
  • This place is amazing, So unique! We loved staying here! It feels like a home away from home. I definitely recommend you come and stay. It was great to have a yoga room and a beautiful view outside the back porch. Thank you we will be back!

    Brian2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • This stay exceeded expectations. David and the caretaker were very communicative before my arrival. The drive to get there is STUNNING. As soon as I pulled up, I got excited because the view off the back porch is incredible! I quickly ran inside and was greeted by gentle, welcoming music. The house is darling. The bedrooms are spacious. There’s plenty of room to stretch out and get comfy in the living spaces, and I cooked a bunch in the kitchen. Lots of cooking utensils, pots, pans, and slices were available. The little town of Dixon was secluded enough to make my stay feel like a getaway but close enough to Taos and Santa Fe that I could have day trip adventures. I heartily recommend this place to anyone looking for a quiet, peaceful stay in the mountains of Northern New Mexico.

    Courtney2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful New Mexico stylings abound in this house. Noel, a young man who works is part of David’s family came to check on us shortly after we had checked in, and he told us the 200 - year old history of it. Despite having been added onto twice over that period, the kitchen is modern and very equipped. We had everything we needed to cook meals on a high - end gas range. Communication with David and Noel was top - notch. I would definitely stay again here!

  • Fabulous spot, we enjoyed this trip so much we starting thinking about when we could return! The house was clean, there were items in the kitchen which were helpful, the hosts were amazing, and we loved the feel of the place!

    Hanna2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful peaceful retreat. Would love to come back

    Conor2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • An amazing home, what a privilege it was to stay here in this wonderful community. Great place to stay. We had snow on our second morning but that just served to make it even more magical. Go..you will not regret it.

    Craig2020-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • A great and comfy place to stay in the countryside of Northern New Mexico. Great location to get to skiing, wine and other outdoor activities. The historic house is obviously loved and cared for, the colors inside are so peaceful. It was a cold weekend, but the radiant in floor heating was a treat after skiing. A well stocked and appointed kitchen made cooking while away from home a breeze.

Escape to the natural beauty of the Embudo River Valley in this private, quiet casita on a 5+ acre property in the foothills of the Sangre de Cristo mountains. Located in the village of Dixon, this is the perfect jumping off point for ski trips to Taos, Sipapu, and Sante Fe, for snowshoeing or cross country skiing, or visits to Ghost Ranch and Ojo Caliente. Visit local wineries and the majestic Rio Grande del Norte National Monument. Enjoy long mornings and evenings relaxing by the fire.
Bosque Cottage is our beautiful property which includes the main house, a small art studio, a tiny house, a garden, and the casita. The property is on the Embudo River and the bosque (forest) that lines the river. The approximately 900 square foot, straw bale casita is bermed into a hillside approximately 50 yards (150 feet) from the main house and is situated for maximum privacy. When inside, the thick, straw bale insulated walls add to the quiet and keep the space cool in summer and warm in winter. The space has a mini split air conditioner for those hot summer days. In the winter the casita is warmed with radiant in-floor heating, the mini split heater, and a wood stove fireplace. The artist owned and decorated space features a modern aesthetic with rustic touches, a rotating collection of small-scale works of contemporary art, and a beautifully designed patio with sunset views of the surrounding hills and mesas. The patio has a chiminea fire pit, a charcoal grill, shade, seating, and lighting. The shade is removed in winter to let in more sunshine. Off of the patio is a short trail that leads to an arroyo which can be explored by guests. One bundle of firewood and firestarter are provided for the chiminea and/or wood stove. Additional firewood (with firestarter) can be purchased for $5.00 per bundle. The kitchen is stocked with organic olive oil, organic cooking oil, coffee, coffee filters, sugar, salt, pepper, and some other basic spices. We also provide basic cookware, dishes, utensils, a coffee maker, and an ice maker. There is a stackable washer/dryer in the kitchen with eco-friendly laundry detergent. Note that the washer is appropriate for light loads only. The television streams Netflix, Hulu, and Hulu Live, which provides many cable and local channels. Guests can also play music using the Pandora app on the television. In the bathroom we provide Trader Joe’s Tea Tree Tingle shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. Stairs lead off the living room to the loft bedroom with a queen sized bed. Downstairs in the living room, a chair folds out to a comfortable twin bed (this is the “sofa bed”).
Dixon is a small, agricultural community famous for its orchards. The community is very diverse and peaceful. The Sipapu Ski Resort, a favorite of locals, is just 30 minutes away. About the same distance are areas good for sledding, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing. The casita is just 25 minutes from Taos and 45 minutes from Santa Fe, and all of the cultural attractions these cities have to offer. Drive 20 minutes in another direction and you will be high in the Sangre de Cristo mountains where opportunities for hiking, fishing, and enjoying nature abound. About one mile from the casita is the Dixon Co-op Market, a small but well-stocked grocery store and deli. The village has a restaurant, Zuly’s, which has excellent New Mexican food and a patio. There are three wineries very nearby, one within walking distance. Access to the Rio Grande National Monument (a.k.a., “the gorge”) is approximately 10 miles from Bosque Cottage and not to be missed.
  • This is a real jewel of a rental, and Dixon is an ideal location to explore the entire northern NM landscape. We spent most of our time journeying around to different spots... rivers, gorges, hot springs, towns, hikes, and just driving around the high road to Santa Fe. The casita is newish construction, but with many items that retain a "colonial era" feel -- massive wooden doors, adobe-stlye construction, wood burning stove, etc. The heating system, convenience of the kitchen, bath, and seating are modern and very comfortable. The quality and effort into the design of the space is evident, and very appreciated. It was especially good to have household recycling, as we've been carrying items from place to place while on a long trip ... and now finally able to unload them to be recycled. We would revisit here anytime we were coming to the area. Great value, great location.

  • Rachel and Bart are wonderful hosts. Very comfortable and relaxing place to stay on a beautiful property.

    alex2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • The house was very clean and welcoming. Good location for skiing at Sipapu with an easy 20-30 minute drive in good road conditions. The house feels spacious even with a small footprint and sitting in front of the wood burning fireplace is a great way to unwind after a long day.

    John2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • What a dream. This land and space is what life should be for us all. It is a perfect place for rest and recharge. So peaceful. The design is very thoughtful and welcoming. We really enjoyed playing the boardgames that were in the house as well. Will return!

  • This home is beautiful, from it's antique floor-to-ceiling doors to it's beautiful cottonwood shaded location. You will not be disappointed.

  • This casita is absolutely adorable and inspiring. The setting is amazing, the attention to detail superb and it's one of the best short term rental properties I've stayed in, and I've stayed in a lot! Hope to stay in the tiny house on the property next time!

    Tracy2020-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • Such a cozy space. Love that firewood was provided. A great touch. The minimalist and relaxing aesthetic was wonderful. Gorgeous bathroom. Comfortable couch. We appreciated the radiant heat floors, washer and dryer and simple guidebook to the workings of the house.

    Jordan2020-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • The casita is hands down the most impressive Airbnb I have ever stayed in. The casita itself is taste fully decorated and has all the small creature comforts you could want, down to the cooking supplies in the kitchen and soaps in the bathroom. The bedroom loft is pleasantly warm, even in the dead of winter, and the property surrounding the home is stunning. It feels like you can see every star in the sky from the back porch. Rachel and Bart were excellent hosts and provided very clear instructions on how to find the home; they also offered local tips on where to eat. I am extremely happy with how our stay in Dixon went and I would love to return for a longer stay sometime soon.

  • I enjoyed my stay with Robert! He was a wonderful host and make sure we had everything we needed. The place was very clean and had a beautiful view!

    Haley2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • The sunset was amazing from the view of the porch! Worth it for that alone!

    Alicia2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Incredibly lovely and warm oasis

    Jane2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Robert's place is conveniently located close to Taos plaza and not far from Taos Ski Valley. Though it was chilly and rainy outside, the unit was warm and there were plenty of blankets. Although I didn't personally meet Robert, he called me around check-in time to make sure I understood how to get into the unit and to ask if I had any questions about getting around Taos.

    Rhea2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • The place was exactly as advertised, great location every point of interest in Taos is less than 15 minutes away. On the final day we had limited hot water (which wasn't an issue) However Robert offered to cover a day at the local spa for us to freshen up. Overall 10/10 experience and look forward to coming back.

  • Beautiful cozy Adobe in Taos. We stayed in the coldest time of winter and even with the heat it’s a little chilly waking up in the morning but it’s just part of the Adobe way :) would absolutely stay again. Appreciated the beautiful view and close proximity to town.

    Sarah2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was better than expected. Robert has such a cute space and was perfect for my final evening in New Mexico. Would definitely stay again!

  • Awesome Airbnb in a quiet area, was a bit hard to find at night but would definitley stay here again. Robert even brought us some snacks for our ski party!

This beautifully appointed traditional style Mongolian yurt is on acreage that borders the Embudo River in Dixon, NM. Walk with your coffee to the river and meditate. Breakfast served each morning. Dixon is a lovely community known for its history, culture and art. We have 3 Vineyards and a brewery within a few miles. There are many beautiful trails and river rafting. NOTE: If you take advantage of the 3rd complimentary night special breakfast does not come with the complimentary night.
I am committed to this simple, light footprint and love to share it. We only use natural simple cleaners. Our sheets and comforters are cotton and down. Everything is washed in environmentally safe detergents with no scents and dried in the sunshine. The floors are wood. Our food is local and organic whenever possible. We avoid disposable products unless they are compostable. We surround your stay with natural beauty, natural local body care products and local art! The Queen size organic cotton mattress is a firm bed. We use 500 count cotton sheets. This yurt is off grid. Lighting is solar or USB. Cell phones can be charged by USB. There is power on the outdoor kitchen. Cell phone service can be sporadic on site, but it is better in town which is 1.5 miles down the road. There is is WiFi on site. The library has computers, wifi, copies, scanning and faxing. There is clean water available in the yurt in a water dispensing crock. Tea and coffee and a coffee press ate provided. Water can be boiled in the outdoor kitchen space. It is expected that guests will enjoy the local restaurants rather than preparing meals on site. There is a cooler provided in the yurt and a kitchenette area for simple meal preparation such as cheese platters, sandwiches and cold foods. During cooler weather, the wood stove can be used to cook and heat water. The outdoor kitchen has running water for 3 seasons and it is drained for the winter. Do not consider staying during cold weather unless you are proficient with a wood stove. The primitive bathroom is a greenhouse with a composting toilet and a solar shower. Note: this is a yurt and glamping with full amenities, although there is not air conditioning. If you come during the summer it is wise to learn from locals. Rest or sit in the river or visit one of our beautiful wineries or our local brewery during the heat. We have built rock pools in the river to relax and refresh in. Remember this an eco vacation with a small foot print for people seeking such an adventure.
We are located in a rural agricultural valley...known as the apple basket. Dixon is an hour north of Santa Fe and 40 minutes south of Taos. Sipapu ski valley is 40 minutes away. We are 40 minutes from Ojo Caliente Resort and hot springs. All drives are lovely...we are on the Taos High Road Scenic Route. We have rafting, paddle boarding, hiking, galleries, skiing, fishing, shopping and so much more. The annual Dixon Studio Tour just completed. Book early for next year. Stay with us and ski Sipapu! Even in the winter we have beautiful sunny days!

  • This is a great little farmhouse to stay at if you’re thinking of visiting Taos, Santa Fe, or both while enjoying more of a private/secluded feel. Jessica and her family are extremely welcoming and kind. There’s a book in the living room that gives local tips as well as a quick run down on how best to enjoy the place (you shouldn’t be cold at all like some other reviews if you read through it). Dixon locals are very friendly and there’s even a brewery right around the corner!

  • The cabin is wonderful! A great location, quiet, and beautiful. Jessica's place is exactly as described. It was cold, but the heater kept the cabin warm. There is plenty of hot water. The whole place is cute and communicating with Jessica is easy. Check-in and check-out were easy and fast.

Our rustic little cabin is located in a small residential neighborhood 4.5 miles outside of the town of Taos (10-15 minute drive)--off the beaten track, but still on the outskirts of town. The cabin is a charming one room structure including a full bed and single (twin) sleep sofa, dining area, kitchenette, and full bathroom with stall shower. As a writer's or artist's retreat, you may be inspired by the sweeping mountain views, the light and the sheer magic of the area.
The cabin, a pebble's toss from our own small house, was originally a Ute Valley Park, Colorado, summer camp cabin, moved here about twenty-five years ago. Sunrises and sunsets are daily marvels, and at night the stars shine bright. The romance of the area has been enough to have inspired guests to elope while here or to become engaged! Visiting the nearby yet remote Ponce de Leon Hot Springs is a must. The hot springs are a 1.5 mile drive and then a short hike away. It is a peaceful, quiet, remarkably private outdoor place. Our guests have told us that this off the beaten track destination was the highlight of their trip to Taos (and it is a sacred place so remember to be respectful if you visit). There are biking, hiking and walking trails nearby, also within reasonable distance to the Ski Valley, the little mountain villages in the Picuris mountain range (the High Road to Santa Fe), and the Rio Grande. The beautiful San Francisco de Asis Church, an old and impressive adobe Mission building, is not to be missed, and it's just a mile down the road in the Ranchos Plaza, which has shops and restaurants, including our own Two Graces Plaza Gallery, full of art, books and curios of the Southwest. The town of Taos has museums, galleries, shops, and lots of great places to eat.
Llano Quemado is an old residential neighborhood outside of and to the south of Taos. We have big, wide-open views of the mountains all around. The Acequia Llano Quemado runs a few feet from the cabin on its way to water the fields of the community. The little farm right next door raises sheep and goats, and there are dogs, cats, chickens, and horses, too. Even Georgia O'Keeffe found found this neighborhood charming--she was a frequent overnight guest of one of our neighbors!
  • Had a wonderful and peaceful time!! Great getaway!

    Sasha2020-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin is too cute for words! The views are absolutely stunning and Holly was super communicative and hospitable during our stay. The home was cozy and had everything we could need. Close to Taos proper as well, the value for this place truly can't be beat!

    Claudia2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • This little cabin was my personal heaven. It has such a warmth to it and I loved all the wood and unique decor! Holly and Robert could not have been sweeter (one of these lovely people scraped ice and snow off my car before I even woke up!), and I had a beautiful morning hike up to the hot springs among many other things. It was a gorgeous experience in a gorgeous place. If you’re seeking peace and beauty this place will be a salve for the soul.

    Jenni2019-11-29T00:00:00Z
  • Cute cabin near a fantastic hot spring we were lucky enough to have all to ourselves 2 mornings in a row.

    Luke2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • The Cabin on the Hot Springs Road is lovely, comfortable and charming. The hosts, Robert and Holly, are artists, have a knack for decorating, and a gallery in downtown Taos. They welcomed me in person right away, and were very responsive to my questions and needs. Highly recommended.

  • This was an awesome place to stay. The view is amazing, the place conveniently located just outside of town and all the little necessities were there. I would highly recommend staying there. And all for a great price. It was hard to leave!

    Sarah2020-01-09T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing views from the apartment. The space is super clean with heated floors (key for the winter)! John and Cheryl were very responsive. I would definitely recommend staying here for a place close to town but also enough away from it

    Cecilia2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect getaway with an amazing view of Taos mountain from the bedroom. Well-equipped kitchen, relaxing living room and spacious bathroom. Radiant heat floors took the chill off nicely and made walking around barefoot in December a real treat. John and Cheryl were gracious and their communication was quick and much appreciated!

  • This is the best possible place to stay if you're in Ranchos de Taos. The views are fantastic, and it felt like a place where someone could live long term, rather than a hotel room. There is a lot to do nearby, and our hosts were very helpful. Highly recommended!

    Travis2019-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • One of the best places I have stayed. Roomy, clean, modern, private with wonderful views outside of Taos. I highly recommend this place.

    Susanne2019-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I stayed at John's place for our anniversary. He was very accommodating of our dog, Daisy and provided her a few treats too! The place was clean and welcoming when we arrived and had also had a washer and dryer which I didn't expect. The amenities are great and included coffee beans, a grinder, creamer and cinnamon! I was thankful for that because I forgot to bring mine. The shower is also quite wonderful! Overall, we enjoyed our stay and had a wonderful time in Taos. Thank you for everything, John!

    Jami2019-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful place to stay during my Taos visit. Hosts were very responsive and nice. I always get lost but their directions made it easy. The views are breathtaking! Cute, comfortable, convenient micro home; 1 block from the famous San Fransisco Church. Fully equipped kitchen, washer/dryer, DishTV, WIFI, air conditioning. Quiet neighborhood - a quick drive from Taos Plaza, less than one hour from 2 world-renowned ski resorts.
This affordable micro home is the perfect place to stay while enjoying everything Taos and the surrounding areas have to offer. Our bright and cheery space takes full advantage of all the New Mexico sunshine with skylights and a large window. The space is about the size of med-sized Airstream, and features a fully equipped kitchen, including dishware, gas range, oven, microwave and refrigerator - everything you need to cook! Comfy double size bed and linens sleeps a single or a couple. Robes and slippers are provided. There is also a washer/dryer. The building is tucked behind the main gate to the property, and shares the driveway with the main house. Guests enjoy the experience of living in an exquisite tiny house. It's perfect for two people for short visits, or one person for extended stays. Please inquire about special monthly rates ( 28 nights +) too! Taos has many exciting tourist attractions, but if you chose to stay in, take advantage of the lovely yard and seating areas. It is located in Taos' oldest neighborhood, Ranchos de Taos, one block from the most photographed church in the southwest. It is also just two blocks from the bus stop (bus runs Mon-Fri.) if you don't have a car.
"Ranchos" has the oldest buildings in Taos Valley and three of them house restaurants. Old Martina's is a good choice for their early dinner special (and sometimes they have music and dancing in the dance hall. The Trading Post Cafe (sign in front says ITALIAN RESTAURANT) is not really very Italian - it is my favorite neighborhood restaurant. Also there is great New Mexican food at the Ranchos Plaza Grill which looks onto the Church. I can never decide which is better, the green or red chili so I ask for both ( referred to as Christmas) on the blue corn chicken enchiladas.
  • This quaint little place is a perfect getaway in Taos! We came for a long ski weekend and the location is perfect. Just a short drive to Red River and Angel Fire. The fresh flowers and snacks were a perfect touch and Pat was very accommodating! We will definitely be back!

  • The gate house seems much larger on the inside than it does from the outside. It's a very well curated space with all the amenities as listed. Girlfriend thought it was very cute. Pat left some treats as I mentioned we were on a birthday trip. Very thoughtful. I'm 6'3", and I had enough space to sleep and shower. Very comfy bed.

    William2020-01-07T00:00:00Z
  • Pat was a great host! The place was perfect for my needs and in a perfect location (cross country skiing). The backyard view of the mountains was marvelous. Pat was great with communication leading up to the trip and also while I was there. This will definitely be my home base again next time I visit the area.

  • Pat’s tiny house is adorable and so comfortable - we were happy campers for a few days with two of us. Ranchos de Taos is a great location; it’s a quick drive into town and it’s so nice walking to Ranchos plaza. Most importantly, Pat is incredibly thoughtful and hospitable. The tiny house was full of treats and personal touches, and Pat was so helpful.

Adobe Mtn Retreat is a warm ,cozy home nestled in a small valley high in the Rocky Mountains of Northern New Mexico.Back yard perfect for picnic, campfire, setting up your tent, or relaxing in the hammocks beside the creek. 15 miles to Sipapu with the best ski pkgs. in NM. Just 47 miles to Santa Fe and 30 miles to Taos. Both have an abundance of world class art galleries, restaurants, night life and more. Yes, we warmly invite you to come and experience the allure of your vacation getaway. WiFi.
The back yard was the main attraction for us to Adobe Mountain Retreat. The grass surrounding the creek, the bridge where we sat and dangled our bare feet in the cold mountain stream above the cutthroat trout, imagining family gatherings around the campfire. The first step through the front door said “This is your home. Welcome”. During our 7 years here we’ve done a lot of remodeling. The wood stove mesmerizes, lighting and warming the hardwood floor. The coved log ceiling beams, called vigas, reflect centuries old architecture. The quiet speaks to reflection on today, yesterday, and tomorrow, on life and purpose. The dark looks back through milleniums of time and displays an eternity of celestial bodies (starry skies). Yes, we warmly invite you to come and experience the alluring appeal of your Vacation Retreat. The 1600 sq ft make for a spacious 2 bedroom house that is wheel chair friendly. All rooms are large. The cozy, comfy living room has the wood stove with plenty of firewood. TV’s, DVD’s, and VCR’s are in both the living room and Buffalo Room The Buffalo Room also serves as an extra sleeping area. It also allows for either individual program viewing or unified family viewing. A number of family friendly movies are on hand. An HDMI cable is available to connect your own personal device. Board games are in the entertainment center in the Buffalo Room. There’s also the opportunity for wildlife viewing from the Buffalo Room and dining room windows. Many times we’ve seen elk, coyote, and birds. Humming birds are a real attraction at the feeders outside the window. The cool summer nights, the thick adobe walls, and moderate daytime highs mean air conditioning is not necessary. However, there are 4 ceiling fans and a free standing fan if necessary. A special note: bedroom 2 (with a queen bed) is accessed through master bedroom (also with a queen bed). The Buffalo Room is on the other side of the house with a double hide-a-bed and 2 single beds. Absolutely no smoking is allowed in the house. Designated outside smoking areas are provided. Gas heat and wood stove. Plenty of firewood provided. Well stocked kitchen includes; coffee maker w/ coffee, Keurig, blender, crockpot, electric skillet, mixer, food processor, toaster, citrus juicer, cake and muffin pans cookie sheets, etc. refrigerator w/ ice maker.
Neighbors are descendants of Spanish conquistadors and for the most part are friendly but like their privacy. A Family Dollar Store, 2 mom and pop stores, and 3 gas stations will fill most of your needs. Sugar Nymph restaurant is chef owned and well known for it’s delicious home cooked meals.
  • Jim & MariLu went above and beyond to make us comfortable and help us out when we were dealing with a broken down vehicle. Their home was beautiful! We would love to stay again under more pleasant conditions on our end.

  • Wonderfully quiet home off of the beaten path! Perfect place for a quiet getaway that is still close enough for a short drive to skiing or shopping.

  • Mari Lu and Jim are extremely nice and helpful. They answered any questions we had in timely manner. The cabin was clean and cozy. We definitely would stay again. There was plenty of room for the 5 of us and felt right at home. All amenities we needed were available in the home. Also they make a mean salsa and guacamole. It was delicious! Highly recommend!!!

  • We had a wonderful stay! Awesome house and host! We will be back!

  • We had an amazing time staying in this house. Jim&Mari Lu were both thoughtful and helpful with whatever we needed. They are willing to come out of their way to help even later in the evening times. The house was clean and spacious. Our kids loved staying here as well. They have a good variety of family games and movies to watch. We were able to enjoy the snow in their yard with their sleds they rented to us as well. I would highly recommned this place and will go again if we revisit this area!

  • Jim and Mari Lu’s home was the perfect home base for our day trips to Sipapu. The home was spacious for our group of six and had all the amenities we could have asked for. The kitchen was fully stocked and the rooms had additional blankets for colder nights. Jim and Mari Lu were extremely helpful when we had car problems, and brought us delicious homemade salsa. I look forward to returning next year!

Humming Bird Haven is only 5 (maybe 6) miles to Ojo Caliente Spa. It sits on 10 acres and is right off 285. Only 720 sq ft, it offers two bedrooms and great kitchen plus washer and dryer and full bath. It is 59 miles to Santa Fe, 35 miles to Taos. 3 RV hookups for extra charge. Horses allowed for extra charge. High speed internet! Use your cell phone off wireless. Water is scarce. We haul water to a cistern and it is our tested but please conserve.
It is true that once in the cabin's life, it was a "trailer" as it had wheels. But.... it has 9 foot ceilings, 2 x 6 walls and lots and lots of windows. The Tiny House TV shows fascinated my husband and me, but when we went to establish our New Mexico retreat, we picked this "big" Tiny House for its style, livability and features. We have not been disappointed.
My neighborhood is unique because there is not a lot of neighborhood there. Surrounded by the Carson National Forest ( forest being used loosely as there are not huge trees), gives one the feeling of vast space and openness Georgia O Keefe's Pedernal lines up with Mesa Vibora for a very O'Keefe landscape, but it is not for the faint of heart.
  • If you’re looking for a remote stop between Taos and Santa Fe, Ojo Caliente is for you. No service, lots of stars, and lots of gems! Wonderful space to relax and enjoy the view.

  • Amazing location. Woke up with Elk 30 yards outside the window. Great walking around the property and spending time going to Ojo Caliente. Loved our stay!

  • Marsha's place is wonderful! It is very cozy and comfy with great views! We had such a relaxing time, we did not want to leave! Marsha was a great communicator and we cannot wait to go back!

  • Beautiful private cozy and very special place

    Barbara2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • Marsha's space and property were terrific. Nicely isolated and quiet, yet less than 10 minutes from the Ojo Caliente hot springs. From the bedroom windows you can't see any evidence of human presence - amazing! The house was comfy, well outfitted for cooking, and has a great view. The property is great for walks, and for bigger hikes, the springs or the national forest are very close. Marsha is a highly attentive host who went out of her way for timely responses, and helpful recommendations. I had a wonderful time.

  • Craig was so nice. On our first morning we had issues with the coffee maker and he came over to check on it and made sure we had our morning coffee the next day (it was user error). He also gave us a good recommendation for a burger spot in town. His house had everything we needed for our stay! Check in and out was so easy!

    Stephanie2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Cute little guest house! It was a perfect space for two couples. Super close to everything and normally it was less than a 15 minute drive into town.

    Michelle2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here! The home was very clean and had everything we needed. Great central location for us to visit some of the local ski resorts.

    Rachel2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place with equally beautiful views. Craig is an excellent host, even checking in on our stay part of the way through. His communication and the amount of local guides was impecable.

    Andrew2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • My recent 4 day stay at Craig's casita was perfect and relaxing! The location was great and not too far from Taos center city. The full size kitchen is roomy and is stocked with everything you need to cook meals, make coffee, and even do some baking. The kitchen opens up to the living room area with a great double recliner where I spent an entire day relaxing, reading, and working. Both bedrooms are roomy, I slept in the master and the bed was super comfortable! The master also has a roomy walk-in closet with extra blankets, and in the corner is a closet with stackable washer and dryer. Having washer/dryer worked out perfectly for me as I like to do my laundry before heading home from my monthly road trips. The bathroom is spacious, and the shower is roomy. Last, but not least: the view! The view of the mountains is amazing and especially beautiful during sunrise. I made sure to open the shade in the master so that I could experience the sunrises every morning. Follow your morning sunny welcome with a cup of coffee on the front porch, the best part of my mornings! I also sat out on the front porch and enjoyed the starry nights. Be sure to buy a nice bottle of wine down at Parcht Wine Bar (below The Gorge Restaurant) located on the Taos Plaza to enjoy whilst you star gaze on the casita's porch. Craig was an amazing host who was always available by message or phone and communicated with me very quickly when I reached out with questions. Parking is extremely secure (not on the street) on the property between main dwelling and casita so you are super close to the front casita door. I travel alone or with my teenager, so my/our safety is something I consider paramount. I felt super safe here. I will be returning to stay at Craig’s casita again soon. Oh! Wait, did I mention the recliner? The recliner is amazingly comfortable, so much so that I didn’t want to get up for anything. I highly recommend his place!

    Sandra2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Quiet and relaxing. Close enough to town to enjoy all of the amenities that Taos has to offer.

This beautifully appointed Colorado style yurt is on acreage that borders the Embudo River in Dixon, NM. Walk with your coffee to the river and meditate. Breakfast served each morning. Dixon is a lovely community known for its history, culture art. We have 3 Vineyards and a brewery within a few miles. There are many beautiful trails and river rafting. NOTE: If you take advantage of the 3rd complimentary night special breakfast does not come with the complimentary night.
I live in a yurt full time on the property . The Queen size memory foam bed has 500 count cotton sheets. There is power in the yurt. Cell phone service can be sporadic on site, but it is better in town which is 1.5 miles down the road. There is is WiFi on site. The library has computers, wifi, copies, scanning and faxing. There is clean water available in the yurt in a water dispensing crock and a Brita water pitcher. An electric kettle is provided as well as tea and coffee and a coffee press. It is expected that guests will enjoy the local restaurants rather than preparing meals on site. There is a hot plate for warming up food. The outdoor kitchen has running water for 3 seasons and it is drained for the winter. The separate bathroom is now usable all seasons! Hot and cold water cast iron tub/shower....soak with local herbal products. Do not consider staying in during cold weather unless you are proficient with a wood stove.
  • Wow! What a host...what a place! Peaceful. Serene. Close to heaven. I blogged about it upon leaving. Was memorable. Find my Roosters and Yurts blog here and you will get all the feels. Www.paulaestellejackson.com

  • LisaAnn's yurt was so fun and she's a great cook. The breakfasts feature food from her gardens and eggs from her hens. Absolutely delicious. We were there in late October and she provided endless wood for the wood burning stove in the yurt. The location is private and beautiful with a small river at the end of the property. the view is beautiful in every direction.

    Sara2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • If you're thinking about booking with LisaAnn, consider this your sign to do it! You will not be disappointed. LisaAnn is an incredible host AND cook. The yurt was clean, the bed was soooo comfortable, and the overall experience was something that I didn't know that I needed. While we enjoyed exploring the beautiful state of New Mexico, we would have been completely content with staying at the yurt and lingering along LisaAnn's property for the whole weekend. We will be back!

    Jessica2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • LisaAnn’s place is unique and very special. It was really cool to stay in a yurt and very cozy and romantic to fall asleep with the fire in the wood burning stove lighting the room. And her homemade breakfast made with local ingredients including her own eggs were exceptional, served in her outdoor kitchen.

    Nancy2019-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • Such a dreamy place! The yurt itself is so cute and cozy. The mattress was especially comfortable and more than enough blankets to keep us warm through the night. The breakfasts in the morning were SO delicious and LisaAnn was considerate of certain dietary restrictions :) ! I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a place to unwind and chill for a bit. Also a plus, its a quick drive to Taos! 10/10 you should stay here. :)

    Jennifer2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I stayed a few days while hiking the area. We enjoyed the space and the wonderful breakfast.

    Sherri2019-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • Wow, what a great first yurt experience! VERY clean - hardly even a speck of dirt or spider in the separate bathroom. Had a relaxing hot soak in the tub, slept deeply in the comfy, warm bed (and the night it rained that was like a lullaby), started our days with local YUMMY coffee & the sun on the deck, a short stroll to the river where our dog had a blast, OH, and not least...THE ABSOLUTELY SCRUMPTIOUS BREAKFASTS!!! Dixon is a beautiful, peaceful town - wineries, the coop market, Zuly’s, and the view while walking on the county road was amazing. Hammock reading time in the warm but crisp afternoon was delightful. Star gazing. Thank you, LisaAnn!

Be the first to experience this remodeled section of a 100 year old Adobe House, providing all the modern living amenities while keeping the old world flavor & architectural details. This is one of 3 bedrooms available sharing a luxury bathroom & access to laundry room, as well as a coffee/tea station area. Twins size bed. Private keycode access. River Rafting on Rio Grande, hikes on BLM land (across), private yoga & art classes, massage & hypnotherapy are part of Un'U Center potential choices.
Memory Foam mattress, brand new everything! And the room with stunning views. Ojo Caliente is just 30 minutes away, and so is Sipapu Ski Valley. Taos Ski Valley (voted among best in the country), Santa Fe (with all its attractions) are about 50 minutes away.
The rooms are part of Un'U Retreat center, that is the gathering place to reconnect with the Oneness (Unu means ONE in Romanian. It also means You and You -encountering & integrating of your higher self & other selves). Situated only 45 miles north of Santa Fe (and 20 miles south of Taos), Un'U Retreat Center sits by the mystical Rio Grande Valley in Embudo, New Mexico - right on the river (providing its lush green appearance within the high desert landscape of Northern New Mexico) & surrounded by granite mountains. Its unique location gives easy access to world class Art Galleries, restaurants and various day trips for skiing, hiking, river rafting and sightseeing. Taos and the nature around is a wonderful place to nourish the souls (this place is called The Land of Enchantment" for a reason).
  • Clean and quiet bedroom and bathroom. The place has quite a bit of rustic charm! The river in the backyard and mountains all around are quite beautiful. There is an outdoor shower which adds to the experience. I enjoyed my interactions with the host family particularly around their fire pit in the backyard.

  • This place is exactly what I was needing. I was visiting Santa Fe and was going to be driving out to Taos the next day, but every hotel in Santa Fe was booked. This was the only place I could find available last minute. It ended up being perfect. Easy check in. It was a bit hard to find driving in the dark, but the host called to walk me through where to turn. The room was very small, but I only needed it to sleep for the night so that was ok. Very clean, bed extra comfortable, and AC was perfectly cold.

  • totally happy and grateful! quick responses, easy to find place. beautiful house right next to the rio grande. easy check-in and cozy small room but perfect for me. i would definitely stay again!

  • Cris and Sam were wonderful hosts, and the place was indeed magical. The room was charming and comfortable, with a beautiful view from the window. I could not get enough of the willow, the hammock underneath, and the extraordinary experience of the river. Oh! and birds and bunnies abound. I very much recommend this stay if you find joy in nature, sanctuary and a place to renew your spirit.

    Ilene2019-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • The hammock right on the river was a magical place to relax. Beautiful room and views, though it was smaller than expected. Also note that there’s no wifi or workspace, if that’s something you need. Sam was very accommodating and offered to let me use his phone as a hotspot though. Super friendly host—I would happily stay here again.

Farmhouse Casita in scenic Llano San Juan 10 minutes off the High Road to Taos. Full kitchen and bath with washer dryer. Private fenced yard with garden, patio table and lounge chair. Fire pit with wood. Spectacular mountain views and 10 farm acres to roam. Pets are OK but only small dogs inside. (kennel and/or fenced yard available for bigger dogs or ones that shed profusely). The Farmhouse Casita can sleep 4 ( one queen and a double sleeper sofa) An extra loft room in my house (queen mattress & twin bed) can be rented in case you need extra space. The Casita is part of an artist residence... art supplies are available upon request. We are in a quiet neighborhood on a dead end road so it is very quiet and peaceful with dark skies at night for star gazing. Our farm is next door to the old HogFarm commune (now an organic farm with taiji classes) and the Road Hog (a famous historical bus) is on our premises. Several friendly donkeys summer here. I pay a local woman a living wage to clean before and after each visit.
Peñasco (the nearest Village) has several art galleries, the Sugar Nymphs Bistro (an excellent eatery), the Peñasco Theatre, several gas stations and mechanic shops, two small grocery stores, a hardware store, and a Family Dollar. There are many churches available as well as a Family Health Clinic and Forest Service Office. Picuris Pueblo is located right down the road and visitors can visit. They have fishing ponds, and exercise room and a bison herd that is sometimes visible. Their annual feast day is August 10th. Santa Barbara campground is right up the road with a river for fishing, space to camp and hiking trails leading into the Pecos Wilderness. The High Road Art Tour takes place the last two weekends of September and is an excellent time to visit over 30 local artists in their studios.
  • We stayed for six weeks at Jean’s charming & cozy casita, while we searched for a permanent place to live in the area. The location was peaceful & scenic, helping us to feel like we were on holiday, while we explored and researched. Jean was so friendly and helpful to us during this whole experience, even inviting us over for her family Thanksgiving dinner. We will always remember our special time there!

The best views in Taos--mountains all around. A truly private and impossibly romantic getaway. Traditional adobe casita with vigas and latillas, situated on a paved road, at the edge of the mesa overlooking town. Only three miles to the Plaza, with easy access to Taos Ski Valley, the Rio Grande Gorge, Ranchos, and the road to Santa Fe. Sunrises and sunsets are spectacular. We offer a great experience--just look at all the wonderful reviews by our awesome guests!
The traditionally styled portal, with hand-made columns, welcomes you to the casita. Inside, our guests are greeted with traditional vigas, latillas, and a Saltillo tile floor warmed by radiant heat. A kiva-style fireplace, while non-functional, completes the ambiance of the spacious room. Radiant floor heat will keep you toasty warm in winter. The kitchenette includes a microwave, bar sink, small refrigerator, toaster oven, and a Keurig coffeemaker. The bathroom features a small clawfoot tub with an overhead shower, as well as a colorful New Mexico-style sink. Because many guests are yoga practitioners, we keep two yoga mats in the closet for impromptu sun salutations.
The property borders the magnificent Millicent Rogers Estate, with unobstructed views of the Sangre de Cristo mountain range, including Taos Mountain, and the edge of the mesa, dropping down to pastureland and the Rio Pueblo below. Some important historical sites, including the Martinez Hacienda, are in the valley within a mile or two. There is a hiking path from the casita, wonderful for a morning or sunset stroll, from the mesa toward the Rogers Estate and back, about three quarters of a mile. Be careful of the cactus! You are seven minutes from town but a world away from hustle, bustle and traffic.

During the pandemic we will entertain long term guests though there will be a 72 hour gap between guests.
Our light filled Country Cottage is a stone's throw from our house -- Los Pajaritos -- and sports a sleeping loft with a queen sized mattress and a separate bedroom with a queen sized bed. One bath with shower, + a sunny living/dining room wrapped in glass and with views of Taos Mountain and Picuris Mountain complete the picture. In terms of the setting, we are a short hop into town, but like a recent guest said, the coyotes visit daily--the other day they spotted the magpies chasing one. And our outdoor cats come over to visit even though they are not allowed in. To cut the edge of the summer, we do have A/C. Your own beautiful and private outdoor patio let you relish and drink in the big Taos skies by day or warm by a fire in the outdoor fire pit and watch the stars at night. Sunrises and sunsets are yours to enjoy and come nightfall, all those stars look close enough to pick out of the sky. A short stroll across the field you can enjoy wine and hor'd oeuvres at a picnic table. If you stay with us please use the directions provided; do not attempt to find us via mapquest or a smartphone. And if you are a light sleeper and sleep late we have earplugs - our rooster is an early bird.
A quiet country neighbourhood on the edge of Taos and Ranchos de Taos with big, wide-open views of the mountains all around. The Acequia del Rio Chiquito runs by and in summer evenings you will hear the splash of water on its way down to the fields to the west.
  • Perfectly set up to cook or grill. Lot's of pots, pans and plates. There is a nice outdoor fireplace stocked with wood as well. The master bedroom is cozy and enough space for 2. The loft area has a very short ceiling and probably best for kids to sleep. There were many nice touches to the cottage. It was a great value and a joy to stay in.

Winter has arrived in Northern New Mexico bringing cold, crisp nights below a stunning star-filled sky and sunny, mild days that are perfect for exploring. From Lyden you will be only a stone’s throw away from a multitude of attractions and activities: national monuments, modern-day Pueblo communities, Georgia O’Keefe’s home, Ojo Caliente Mineral Springs, hiking/biking trails, ski areas, birding and fly-fishing hotspots, and local restaurants. Check out "The Neighborhood" for more on this area!
The kitchen has all the utensils you might need to prepare your own meals. If you can’t find something you need, I’m happy to lend anything from my kitchen. Please wash the dishes and leave the kitchen as you found it. The tap water in the casita comes directly from my deep well. It is pure and fabulous. Guests will find a pitcher of cold water in the refrigerator and fresh mint to enjoy with it much of the year. There are two friendly dogs and two cats on the property. They may come around to see you, but please, don’t let them into the casita. Some guests may be allergic. Please hang your wet towels on the hooks in the bathroom.
Located in Lyden, New Mexico, a traditional community along the Rio Grande, this beautifully restored adobe casita offers unique access to some of the hidden wonders of Northern New Mexico. Casita del Bosque is a quiet getaway halfway between the must-see attractions of Santa Fe and Taos and just a scenic drive away from the Georgia O’Keefe home and museums at Abiquiu and Ghost Ranch. The casita is part of a two-hundred-year old adobe house that shares a wall with a capilla, San Jose del Bosque, a small chapel built to serve the early Spanish settlers of the village of Lyden, formerly known as El Bosque (The Woods). Restored in 2007 to reflect its early New Mexico beginnings, the casita has ceilings of vigas (log beams) and split cedar latillas between the vigas, and brick floors. The kitchen is fully equipped for those who wish to prepare meals. Guests will find an assortment of breakfast foods to prepare as well as homemade goodies, coffee and a variety of teas. Casita del Bosque sits at the base of the massive Mesa Prieta, which harbors tens-of-thousands of petroglyphs dating from the very earliest inhabitants of this region. Adventurous visitors who hike up its rocky slopes gain a spectacular view of the valley below and the Sangre de Cristo Mountains beyond. They may even experience the thrill of encountering ancient petroglyphs or a lone coyote along the way. For a more choreographed experience on the mesa, the Wells Petroglyph Preserve, less than a mile away, boasts the largest array of flute player petroglyphs ever recorded. The Preserve offers twice-weekly group tours as well as private tours that can be arranged in advance on their web page. If a tour is not available during your stay, hundreds of petroglyphs can be easily viewed from the road. Just a few miles to the south are the Pueblos of Ohkay Owingeh, Santa Clara and San Ildefonso, where practicing traditional Native American artists offer their sought-after artwork for sale. If the timing of your visit is right, you may have the privilege of experiencing a Pueblo feast day with traditional dances that are open to the public. In addition, several Pueblos operate thriving casinos for more modern entertainment options. A short drive away, the town of Española offers an appealing array of restaurants, many featuring traditional Northern New Mexican cuisine. While in town, stop by the visitors’ center and enjoy the gallery and gift shop operated by the Northern New Mexico Regional Arts Center at the Plaza de Española or the one hundred-year-old Chimayò Trading Post. A few minutes outside of Española is the beautiful Santa Cruz church where you can see the lovingly restored retablos and paintings that are precious to this vibrant church community. Fifteen minutes to the north of Lyden is Dixon, a tiny town known for arts and crafts, its thriving theatre scene, its wineries and its award-winning community library. Just beyond Dixon at the village of Pilar, is Orilla Verde National Recreation Area, the southernmost extension of one of our newest national monuments, Rio Grande del Norte National Monument. The road through Orilla Verde winds along the Rio Grande providing birders and fishers a unique opportunity to indulge their favorite pastimes. Alert visitors may even spot Rocky Mountain bighorn sheep along the canyon walls. You may access the famed High Road to Taos from Española. Once you turn east, you find yourself winding through beautiful New Mexico mountain villages including Chimayò, famed for its Santuario de Chimayò and traditional weavers. It is also home to Rancho de Chimayò, a favorite restaurant with locals and visitors alike. As you travel the High Road, you will be awed by the beauty of Truchas, nestled in the Sangre de Cristo range of the Rocky Mountains at 8,000 feet. Here you turn north, passing through several small villages. At Las Trampas take time to visit the San José de Gracia Church, a designated National Historic Landmark. As you leave Las Trampas, look carefully to the east to see an ancient aqueduct made of hollowed-out logs that still brings water from a mountain spring to irrigate the fields below. You will find endless opportunities to indulge your fancies in any direction from Casita del Bosque, whether they lean toward hiking, biking, skiing, historical exploration, petroglyph viewing, birding, fishing, rafting, photography, visiting with artisans in their studios and galleries or enjoying a scrumptious meal. The Casita del Bosque Guidebook provides you with contact information, including web pages, for many of the sites mentioned as well as many others in Northern New Mexico. Your time at Casita del Bosque will provide a memorable experience, one that you won’t find in a city or a hotel. Reserve today!
  • Great stay at Mary’s place. She provides lots of great information on things to do and see in the area. Very clean with a well stocked kitchen for anyone staying in and cooking. Mary was very quick to respond to any questions. Thanks again for a great stay!

    Erik2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent space, excellent hostess, beautiful secluded location. Thanks Mary!

    Neil2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Mary was such a great host. From the homemade snacks left in the fridge to the maps and guides of the area. The place itself was perfect, and near some great hiking trails. We would absolutely book again. It was the best Airbnb experience I’ve had.

    Sean2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • This house is truly magical, and so is the area where it's located. Mary had great suggestions for trail runs, food, and a back route to Ojo Caliente, and I loved exploring the local brewery/winery scene, where people are so very friendly. Don't hesitate to book this spot if you need a quiet retreat. I loved the starry skies and the homemade cookies Mary left.

    Kati2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • Mary’s place is off the beaten path, quiet and cozy. Mary definitely deserves the “Superhost” title. She is very thoughtful, helpful and quick to respond if you need anything. Her place is between Taos/Angel Fire and Santa Fe. If we hadn’t stayed at her place, we’d have missed out on Pajarito Mountain and Bandelier National Monument. We definitely enjoyed our stay!

    Angela2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean and comfortable space. The accommodations were excellent and as advertised. Would 100% stay here again.

    Nicholas2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Mary’s casita was everything we hoped for and more. Cozy and surrounded by scenery with a charming decor. Lots of homey and welcoming touches.

    Rikki2019-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • This wonderful adobe home is very well located in the countryside outside Espanola. Day trips to Abiquiu, Santa Fe, Taos are easy and Ojo Caliente is only 30 minutes away. The casita is spotless, bed is extra comfy and Mary is a wonderful hostess. The kitchen is well equipped and well stocked, Mary backed delicious goodies for us. Everything was perfect and we will go back. Gratitude to Mary and the enchanted land of New Mexico.

  • Elisabeth has a really interesting and amazing home that is a destination in and of itself. However, as a hostess, Elisabeth tops even her house. We arrived on a snowy day after dark, and before we even left for her house she was expressing concern about the driving conditions, and said that if we needed to cancel it wouldn't be an issue. At her home, she did a great job of explaining the unique features of the house. She prepared a very nice breakfast and kept offering us seconds until we said no. We'll try to reserve a stay at her place any time we are overnight in the Taos area.

    Rob2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • Elizabeth was an excellent host! We had a great time in her earth ship, and learning about the sustainable living in them. She was very accommodating of my partners allergies, and was an excellent sourceof conversion. I reallycannot reccomend a stay with her enough.

    John2019-11-29T00:00:00Z
  • It's worth it to make the detour to Elisabeth! Super experience in an earthship.

    Vanessa2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • Elisabeth was an amazing host and her earthship is so cozy. She made us breakfast and told us what to explore in the region — Taos pueblo, etc. Would definitely recommend!

  • Elisabeth was a wonderful host. I enjoyed staying at her place and had a lovely time. The room is very comfy and cozy. We had dinner together and wonderful conversation. It was a nice retreat and I loved learning about her earth ship. I’m an animal lover and Baby, Bella, and Otis are wonderful. I was made to feel at home. She gave me private space and was available as needed.

    Tan2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Elisabeth is a fantastic host! We loved our conversations, the food and the space was better than expected. Thank you for your hospitality.

Rest, re-set and explore on an organic fruit tree and lavender farm beside the Embudo River. Enjoy a private stay with all the creature comforts. 1 hour north of Santa Fe & 20 minutes south of Taos, we are close to all the best that New Mexico offers.
The kitchen has a gas stove, full refrigerator and is stocked with organic olive oil, organic coffee, filters, sugar, honey, salt, pepper, and lots of spices; cookware, dishes, utensils, a coffee maker, french press, crockpot, nutri-bullet mixer, etc. Washer/dryer and outdoor clothesline with eco-friendly laundry detergent. We provide soaps, shampoo, conditioner. A queen bed with quality linens and extra blankets for cold desert nights. We provide a space heater and air conditioning for your comfort. While cell service is available here, it can be spotty. Verizon seems better than AT&T. Wifi is provided as well as a (shared) landline you are welcome to use. This casita and surrounding land holds a very healing and unique space and opportunity for restoration, especially for couples. Healing sessions, Massage & Craniosacral Therapy - if you would like to arrange a session during your visit and my schedule can accommodate, I would be happy to work with you. I am a licensed massage, craniosacral and trauma therapist. Our sessions here may include bodywork, working with the medicine wheel, soul medicine for individual and couples.
We are approximately 2 miles from the center of town. Dixon is sweet rural community offering a public library, local co-op, Zuly's cafe, Vivac and Chirapada wineries and Blue Heron brewery. Be sure to visit the Rio Grande. Ask us some of our favorite spots to find a beautiful vista and solitude to watch eagles fish. Taos is 20 minutes north. Santa Fe is 45 minutes south. Ask us about a local petroglyph project in Pilar, nearby caves, wild hikes and hot springs to explore!
  • Stephanie and Simon's casita is fantastic. Situated on a beautiful plot of land, near several other houses but far enough away and situated so it feels very private. You can hear the river running just a few yards away. Dixon is a great little (very little) town, with an amazing food co-op and cafe. Stephanie recommended a hike (Vista Verde) which we did nearby and loved. Great spot to base yourself for some exploring of amazing Northern New Mexico.

    John2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely secluded space for a quiet getaway!

    Stephen2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • This is a beautiful Casita with everything you could possibly need… I was a little disappointed by the proximity to the highway, somehow I pictured being in a little more remote location… But I had a fantastic stay nonetheless.

    Robert2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Stephanie's place is fantastic! The space is a part of a retreat center and the entire area is beautiful to walk around in! Stephanie is a great host with lots of local tips!

    Brian2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Stephanie's place is a treasure. There is a palpable sense of peace reflected in the natural beauty of its' surroundings. The place was perfectly clean and filled with beautiful things. Looking forward to coming back.

    Christopher2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Stephanie was an amazing host, and her casita was magical. Everything was sparkling clean, and there so many thoughtful touches. I think it is the best kept AirBnb I've ever stayed at! It is private, and very relaxing. I loved the little patio with chairs, I sat there and listened to the river while I drank my coffee in the morning. I hope to come back!

    Sam2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Stephanie’s casita is wonderful! So colorful and homey. The bed was very comfortable and warm. We will certainly stay there again.

    Cassandra2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • What a magical place. Stephanie was a perfect host, and even though we never met, I felt that I was in the most reliable hands. Her place was welcoming, warm and so pleasant. There is a lot of thought invested her place including in the small details and this made a great different. The place was clean, and pleasant, the design was beautiful for the eye. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed, and there was also a washing machine that helped. The location was perfect for us – it felt quiet and a part of the nature around and within an hour to any direction we could discover different gems this land had to offer. I would definitely stay again.

Springwild is a three-acre property at the end of Boyer Ln, which is a short 5 minutes from the plaza and 30 minutes from the Taos ski Valley. The Casita has a small kitchen, large artistic bathroom with radiant heat, and a sleeping and dining area. Springwild is the perfect place to relax and unwind with a great view of the mountains, a variety of outdoor seating, and a wonderful vegetable and herb garden.
Springwild is a 3 acre homestead surrounded by open fields that roll to the Rio Fernando and it's red willows, thousands of migratory birds and mountain views that will take your breath away. The colors at the end of the day and the views of the incredible Sangre de Cristos at sunrise are what brings artists to Taos. Springwild Casita is perfect for a couples getaway, or for an artist or writer looking for peace and quiet. The Casita was built by artist, sculptor, architect, landscape artist, philosopher, gardener, dietitian, cook, poet and steward..... Malcolm Brown. He described life at SpringWild as an experiment in transition to a world of peace, happiness and fulfillment for all. Following his architectural style, we added on a bathroom with beautiful mosaic tiled shower and sink, and radiant heat. The main room consists of a queen size bed, dinning table and a comfy chair for reading. There is a small kitchen with a gas two burner stove. There is also a toster oven. We provide farm fresh eggs from our chickens, coffee, tea and half and half. During the summer enjoy fresh vegetables and herbs from our organic garden, just a few steps from your casita. The property also has a main house which can sleep up to 10 guests if you are looking for a bigger space to share with family and friends. You will love this enchanted place. You are 5 minutes from town where there are lots of art galleries, shops, grocery stores and restaurants, and 30 minutes from the Taos Ski Valley. Close by is river rafting, hiking, hot air ballooning and a links golf course. Ojo Caliente Mineral Springs Resort and Spa is 45 minutes away. Abiquiu, where Georgia O'Keeffe lived and Plaza Blanca, where she painted, is an hour and fifteen minutes from Taos.
We are at the end of Boyer Lane, where there are open meadows, horses, and mountain views. It's a wonderful place to wake up to the musical sound of the birds. The Taos Plaza is 2 miles away, on easy back roads. We are also minutes away from several grocery stores, shops, and local restaurants.
  • We stay in a lot of airbnbs on our travels and this is the first time that I checked off all 7 of the categories on the "was anything extra special" page of the review. I think that pretty much says it all. We'll definitely stay again!

    Kevin2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin is like a cozy little hobbit home—just charming! Incredible bathroom with heated floors that were much appreciated. Fully decked-out kitchen with pretty much anything you could possibly think of or need. I was blown away by how many tools and amenities could fit inside such a petite kitchen space. And truly a lovely view of the mountains right outside the front door! We worried about the dirt road getting too muddy to drive on after it stormed the second night we stayed, but it ended up being fine. We loved being close enough to the city to enjoy it, grab a bite to eat, but far enough away to enjoy some quiet in nature. I will say if you have a considerable fear of spiders this might not be the space for you—we saw a few littles in the bathroom and kitchen but didn’t mind them, pretty much to be expected when you’re in a cabin! If you love nature and are looking for a place tucked just outside downtown Taos, I definitely recommend checking out this casita!

    Lauren2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • This is a beautiful, magical house! The hosts were fantastic and easy to communicate with. The location is perfect, with a fantastic view, good access to skiing and downtown Taos. Will definitely return.

  • The quaint cottage we stayed in was cozy and had good energy (for those that beloved in it). Thoughtful touches included warm cookies, fresh eggs and tea. We were happy to find this listing and would love to come back to stay in the larger house; it looks like a fairytale cottage. If you are looking for a charming and unique stay, book with Dan.

    Ruth And Chris2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Springwild Casita is a lovely little spot just outside of Taos. It feels like a getaway and a private spot without being too far from the comforts of town. Dan and Diane are attentive hosts who respond quickly when needed. The casita itself is surprisingly roomy without losing comfortable charm. Everything is well-stocked and maintained. Had a great time away.

  • This was my fourth stay at Vincent’s place. His place makes a stay at Ojo Caliente a reality for me as i am not much of a resort goer. I love to eat well and stay in practical, earth friendly comfort. Vincent’s place gets two thumbs way up for my style of travel.

  • Well last time I gushed about their hospitality and what attentive hosts they were. They are still every bit of that. This time I think I should confess that Dawn serves some of the best meals that money can buy. That surf and turf paella she made was to die for. If you are thinking about staying in the are of Ojo Caliente this should be your stop. If you like Santa Fe and great food stay here, Santa Fe is only 45 minutes away. Or if you live in Albuquerque its only 2 hours away. What a restful weekend you could have...

  • Graham and Dawn were wonderful hosts. Their home is full of loving and thoughtful touches. They really think of everything! Extra towels and robes for the hot springs, hot kettle, tea and cups in room plus so much more!! Graham was helpful in brainstorming great places to hike. Highly recommend if you are looking for a welcoming, comforting, cozy stay!

Over a bridge and steps from the Embudo River, this beautiful, well-equipped cottage is nestled in a private canyon amidst cottonwood trees. Relax by the river and listen to its sound as you fall asleep. The quaint town center is just a mile away.
What we love best about this private canyon is the spectacular canyon wall, the trees and shade, the river that runs through it, and the constant sound of water. Through most seasons, you can hear the sound of the river from the open windows of the cottage. A private patio with table and chairs and bench is just outside the back door. A beautiful deck overlooks the river. During the day, you can venture out to explore the open landscape -- enjoy the sun, heat, and arid climate, and the attractions of the busy, neighboring towns-- then retreat to this canyon refuge and find relief in its cool river, light breezes, shade trees, and birdsong. The property is densely populated with cottonwood, pinon, and juniper trees; in spring and summer, the fragrance of these and other native plants (e.g., sage) fills the air. Right outside the front door is a long porch (portal) that faces the canyon rock face with benches for relaxing and watching the sun rise. Although the owners live on the property, wood screens provide the privacy needed in the outdoor seating areas. The interior space is an open plan (living/dining/kitchen) with high ceilings and exposed beams throughout. The kitchen and bathroom (with shower) are new and fully equipped; the bathroom has quality towels and the bedroom, quality bedding. The bedroom is spacious and includes a king-size bed and full closet. A single (very comfortable) bed is located in a corner of the living area. We also have a comfortable single mattress to accommodate an additional adult or child and the couch may also accommodate an additional young person, if needed.
Dixon is perhaps best known for its vibrant artists' community, though its extraordinary beauty, organic farms and orchards, vineyards, and access to other popular tourist destinations and outdoor activities are all also a big draw. We love the seclusion we experience here along the river. The people in Dixon are very friendly, open, and helpful. We have a noteworthy library that won a national award for outstanding service to its community--look for their evening lecture schedule. The Cooperative Market has all the basics and some gourmet items as well as local organic seasonal fruit and vegetables. The market's deli makes burritos, sandwiches, pizza, and soups. Nearby Zuly's is an excellent cafe (with wine/beer). All these facilities are only a mile away. Also within a mile are two wineries (one with homemade truffles), and down the road is the Blue Heron beer brewery to the north and the Black Mesa Winery to the south. A pretty 15 minute drive will take you to Penasco where the chef at the The Sugar Nymph Restaurant (casual, home-style food), was once a chef at Green's Restaurant, a famous establishment in San Francisco.
  • Another amazing trip to this wonderful place! The home and the hosts are so warm and inviting it’s always hard to leave and head back home when our trip is over. You won’t find a better value or location. The home is perfectly situated between Santa Fe and Taos. We enjoyed exploring the cities and then being able to come back and relax in peace listening to the creek at night out our window. We will definitely keep coming back!

  • Don't hesitate, book this place! Kris and Cedric's place is even more beautiful than the pictures! You can tell they put lots of love into their place. It was the perfect place for my husband and I to getaway and enjoy time together. The kitchen is fully stocked and we enjoyed cooking our dinners, hanging out, and playing games at the house. The bed is so comfortable, I slept like I was at home. The location is perfect for seeing many different places in northern New Mexico. There is also lots of information/recommendations provided for things to do and places to eat for the surrounding areas. We drove the Enchanted Circle one day and the other day we had brunch at Sugar Nymphs and it was absolutely amazing! Thank you for being wonderful hosts!!! We hope to return in the summer and take advantage of the deck on the river.

  • We fell in love with New Mexico and Kris&Cedric’s place as well. New Mexico is very beautiful and so does the house. The house is charming, clean, spacious and stylish. Everything we need was provided; soft thick towels, different types of pillow (thank you for providing thin soft pillows!), thick blankets for cold winter nights, hairdryer, kettle, tea, spices, butter, milk, even rice and pasta. We were surprised how well stocked the pantry was. Kris, Cedric, Sawyer and Dixon were very welcoming and friendly. We truly enjoy our stay there and wish we could go back again one day during summer.

  • Kris and Cedric’s guesthouse was incredible! The location is amazing, and the home very cute and comfortable. Kris was very helpful in prepping us for our stay. We hope to stay here again!

  • This is a beautiful guest house in a very sweet small town. Don't miss out on booking this location if you have the chance.

    Colleen2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • I’ve stayed now at dozens of airbnbs, and Kris and Cedric’s place is up at the top. Beautiful, aesthetically pleasing house; gracious hospitality; gorgeous surroundings; and even less than a mile from a wonderful winery that offers generous tastings! What more can you possibly ask for?

The Treehouse (a bird-lovers paradise) is a newly renovated casita that sits nestled under beautiful established trees on a lush, spacious property close to the Rio Pueblo. The interior is beautifully appointed and will leave you feeling rejuvenated and pampered. The outside features a wrap-around deck with gas grill, fire pit and lounging areas, and a private hot-tub off the bedroom. It is located a short drive away from both the Historic Taos Plaza, and the Historic Ranchos Plaza.
The property is conveniently located at the south end of Blueberry Hill Road in Taos, with a direct route to Taos Ski Valley, a 30 minute drive away, a 10 minute drive to the Historic Taos Plaza and a 10 minute drive to the Historic Ranchos Plaza, where one can visit the historic and architecturally significant San Francisco de Asis church, built between 1772 and 1816.
The neighborhood is unusually lush and green for Taos in the summer months, and a winter wonderland from November to March. There are magnificent old Cottonwood trees on the property and you'll be surrounded by calming, pastoral views.
  • This little retreat is perfect. The place is very spacious and is clean and beautifully decorated. The hot tub is an amazing treat after a long day of skiing and the stars are absolutely gorgeous. Lesley was such a gracious host. Highly recommend!

  • If you are looking for a semi secluded place close to town with modern touches the tree house is a beautiful place to stay

    Kaleb2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • The Treehouse was everything we expected and more! Stayed here with my GF and had a wonderful couple days enjoying the house. Bed was comfortable, hot tub was great in the evenings, outdoor space was nice for relaxing and making us feel at home, home and kitchen were well equipped with everything you would need, and Lesley was a very responsive and well coordinated host. Would definitely stay again if back in town!

  • A wonderful stay in Taos! The treehouse is very clean and well decorated. The hosts are great communicators and have put thought into making a special stay.

  • The place was great! Loved the decorations, the bed was big and comfortable and the kitchen had great appliances. It was very convenient to town and to the ski mountain. The host was very nice, communicative and had quick responses to any questions. Would definitely stay here again!

  • What a great little space. Very nice Air bnb. Great space, comfortable bed, and the hot tub is a very nice touch. Didn’t spend too much time outside since it was cold, but I could see how this would be fun in the summer as well. The gas stove heats the whole place up very nicely. Great place.

    Alan2020-02-16T00:00:00Z

  • What a beautiful corner of the world. We enjoyed lounging by the river and watching the birds. The room was very clean and the beds were comfortable. We were the only guests there during our stay, so we had the place to ourselves which was nice!
