Bistro 300 is a great coffee shop. I am also close to Port George and Margaretville, if you like ocean sun sets and high tides.

  • It was super close to the highway and easy to get in and out of. Kids really like having their own space, so having 3 bedrooms was a plus for us!!!

  • The bed linen was fresh and bed was very cozy, I had a great sleep! I would definitely stay here again. It is a shared space with a private bedroom, beautiful large house Individual shampoo conditioner and soap was left available for me as well as nice clean towels. Coffee was made available as well as Keurig machine and other nuances. Abbie made me feel very welcomed I met her husband and little girl (brother wasn’t home), a lovely young family.

  • We had a lovely stay at the Wee Craegan cottage. Pam and Mike were super friendly and helpful and very responsive to our questions. The cottage is really sweet, cozy, clean and had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. The bed is really comfy! Two things to note were that the neighbours are pretty close by (Mike and Pam are on one side) so it wasn't quite as secluded as I'd imagined. And the ceilings in the loft are low and probably not ideal for someone who's tall (I'm 5' 6" and had to duck at certain spots). Neither of these things impacted our stay negatively (we had a lovely time and would stay here again) but I always find this kind of feedback helpful so I'm sharing it.

    Simone2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • The Wee Craegan is a great spot for a quiet getaway for two. Its very cozy and quiet but still has all the amenities you need. Its also close to Bridgetown and all that the valley has to offer if you need anything. My partner and I are already want to go back next year.

    Katie2019-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • A spotless little cabin on a beautiful lake. It was very quiet and peaceful.

    Colleen2019-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • The Wee Craegan is a peaceful little space that is perfect for couples or single people that are looking for a quiet getaway away from technology and life in the city. My favourite parts of my stay were reading by the lake while listening to the loons call at sunset and eating breakfast that we picked up from a little café nearby on the back deck with my partner.

    Alana2019-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • Stunningly beautiful location. The waterfront views are just beautiful. The lake is clean and warm for swimming. Not too busy either. The property has trees on both sides, which helps with privacy.

    Rebecca2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Cute and very quite spot ...will go back for sure

    Amanda2019-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing views at this quaint cottage. Clean, well equipped for all your needs. Hosts are right next door if you need anything, yet are not a bother. We fell in love with "the wee craegen" its definitely a couples retreat! ......Keep in mind when booking that this cottage has a loft bedroom! ( not suitable for persons with mobile limitations ) Views from loft are great! Coffee in the morning on back deck or lakeside listening to the birds and loons! Canoe available for use as well as firewood supplied for fire pit. Pam & Mike have also prepared a great binder of places to go and see, with maps! Super Host's indeed!

    Simone2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Kyla and Colin are fantastic hosts! Super quick communication and extremely thoughtful! We arrived on Christmas Day when the stores are closed and Kyla arranged to have a couple basic grocery items available that we couldn't bring across the US border with us in the fridge for our arrival! Small touches like nice cookware/implements, games and puzzles for kids, and even a driftwood Christmas tree complete with ornaments made our trip exceed expectations! We were barely out of the driveway when our kids were already asking when we could come back! We highly recommend!

High quality comfortable home away from home. Centrally located in the beautiful Annapolis Valley makes an ideal base from which to explore not only the Valley, but Nova Scotia as well. Air conditioning is present in the living area; however, during the summer there are window fans available in the bedrooms. Less than two hours from Halifax, an hour and a half from Lunenburg, an hour and 45 mins from the ferry at Yarmouth and 45 mins from Digby ferry service to New Brunswick so why wait.
Well appointed kitchen and living room with two bedrooms serviced by a central bathroom. Air conditioning in the living space with window fans in the bedrooms. Paradise Corner Cafe just yards away is open for the season Wed to Sun 9-5, serving soup sandwiches, afternoon teas and select savouries. Listen to tunes from the vintage juke Box or have a go on the player piano.
Paradise is a lovely country community providing great change from the bustle of the big city.
  • We were only there to sleep but the beds were comfy and there was enough space for the 4 of us. Great location & value for in-between valley and south shore activities.

    Thomas2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Best Airbnb experience I have had to date. If you're looking an escape from the hustle and bustle of every day life, this is it! Marty was beyond hospital and took great care of us. The views were absolutely astonishing. We got to have a campfire, a warm shower, a fantastic sleep and there were plenty of options to bring food and cook at the Airbnb if we wanted to. If I could rate this Airbnb, I would give it a 25/10 for the view and hospitality alone. Sunset before our fire and the most amazing sunrise this morning was absolutely everything. It was the highlight of our little getaway weekend from Halifax! We will absolutely be back!

  • Absolutely gorgeous and clean. Had the most relaxing mini vacation with a wonderful large tub and wood stove. We will return!

  • Isa's place is fantastic. You can tell that it is normally inhabited by nice people who really care about their space, experience and nature. The fire wood was beautifully cured making it such a pleasure beyond just being warmed by real heat. The furniture was very comfortable and information was always at the ready when needed. A great stay. I would recommend Isa's Place to anyone. Many thanks!

  • I only wish we could have stayed longer! Such a tranquil location, very spacious and clean, with the little touches and everything we could have needed available. The dog loved exploring outside and there were lots of books and games to keep us entertained. We definitely plan on coming back, spending a few more days, and enjoying the fire pit!

  • As always, a perfect private accommodation. It’s our 4th or 5th stay here, and definitely our favourite place in Nova Scotia.

  • Great cosy cabin to stay in. Very large functional space with private lot. Only downside is that the wifi is pretty slow.

Our Sunflower Apartment is located in the beautiful Annapolis Valley. The apartment overlooks the Annapolis River and is just around the corner from the Annapolis Valley Rail Trail. You can walk to Winemaker's Tavern, one of the Valley's new exciting restaurants, take a 2 minute drive to Lunn's Mills Brewery or Beaverbrook Winery or enjoy a quiet coffee on your private porch.
A cosy and bright one bedroom apartment, it is tiny but mighty cute.
Our little town boasts a tavern, brewery and winery, so you know we like to have a good time! This spot is perfect for lovers of good food, great drink and beautiful nature. We are also home to the famous Annapolis Valley Exhibition.
  • Dian’s place is cozy and comfortable with many useful amenities to make your stay feel like a home away from home. She was very quick to respond to any questions and was willing to share her experiences of living in Nova Scotia. Most of all, she willingly let me spend some much appreciated time with her two fur babies.

  • A great place, very nice design, super hosting!

    Hanna2019-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • Me and my husband stayed here from August 14th to the 18th. When we arrived we were met by Dian. She was a great host, polite and friendly . Accommodations where perfect for 2 people. Very clean and everything we needed was there. The bed was extra comfortable and it was a very quiet location. We look forward to returning again next year

    Betsy2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Great spot! Kitchen was well stocked, very nice bathroom, comfy bed and a great location. I'd definitely stay there again.

    Clint2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • My girlfriend and I got this place mainly to visit Kejimkujik National Park for the stargazing (unfortunately it got cloudy the day we went). The downside of this was that a lot of other things ended up being a bit of a drive to get to, although it may just be that everything in Nova Scotia is rather far apart. Either way, prepare for a lot of driving if you plan to stay here and visit the coast along with inland stuff. The space itself was very nice. The kitchen had everything we needed, and the white-and-yellow color scheme was a nice touch (as well as the sweet Ikea furniture ;) ). Overall, nothing to complain about, and we would stay again if we were to go back!

    Alex2019-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • Really nice place!! Dian was awesome, would stay again in a heartbeat. Made our honeymoon stop wonderful!!!

    Linda2019-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place to stay and relax. Its was very clean and well decorated. The communication with Dian was perfect! Its not far from all the good winery! Dont hesitate to book your stay!

    William2019-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • Dian's apt is a very cute, clean spot to stay. Bed was comfy and we had everything we needed. Walking distance to the Winemaker's Tavern and a short walk to a nicely groomed trail. If our stay was longer we would've explored more. Dian is quick to respond and very helpful, allowing us an early check-in which we really appreciated. Definitely great value.

This lakeside retreat is perfect for swimming, kayaking, walking, or just relaxing by the water. The kitchen was fully updated to include all comforts found at home. Efficient new fireplace for heat or ambiance along with a heat pump ensures a comfortable atmosphere. Outdoor space includes a large deck off the cottage with BBQ, fire pit on the front lawn, and lakeside deck/dock. There is plenty of outdoor furniture including a tree hammock.
Located on Trout Lake, this pine built open concept cottage is located about 15 min. from Middleton. Oaklawn farm zoo located in Aylsford is about a 35 minute drive and a great place to visit with children. Upper Clements Park (about 50 minutes) is another great place for kids, or perhaps stopping in Historic Annapolis Royal. Bridgewater, Mahone Bay, Lunenburg, and Chester are south shore ocean villages about 45 minutes to an hour drive away. Halifax is about one hour 45 minute drive through either the valley (101 highway) or the south shore (highway 103).
  • Our visit was amazing, fall colors on the lake were so beautiful. Very cozy, has everything you might need, would definitely love to go back next year.

    Katelyn2019-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great location. A rustic cottage with modern amenities by a peaceful lake. This time of year (first of October) is a great time to visit because of all the Fall colours (and no bugs!). Directions to find the cottage were clear and check-in was easy. The nearest town with full services is only 15 mins away, yet you're fully surrounded by quiet nature. I have no hesitation recommending Trout lake Cottage Retreat to future visitors.

    Tom2019-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • Our second time at Matthew's didn't disappoint. Lovely place in the fall, very private and peaceful. Sweet little cottage on a beautiful lake. Couldn't ask for anything better. Thank you!

    Gillian2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely as described! Communication with Matthew was timely and very good. We did not even see him, but we did not need to. The cottage was very clean and comfortable. Absolutely everything we needed was there, from BBQ tools to cheese graters. WiFi was working great, there was a small selection of books, movies and board games, which was great as it rained out whole trip 🙄. The large bed was super comfy with extra pillows and good bedding. Towels were thick and comfy, and there were extra lawn chairs and a fans. The color of the lake water was a little odd but expected. It has a reddish color due to minerals, and the lake is beautiful. The cottages to either side were empty so it was wonderfully quiet, exactly what we wanted. We heard deer and watched a pair of Great Blue Herons over the lake one morning. We loved it and absolutely plan to go back, maybe take the dogs next time. Thank you!!

  • Derek was a great host and Breezy Bay Cottage was a wonderful place to stay on the Bay of Fundy. The cottage is very clean and comfortable with a great sunporch. It was a perfect home base for visits to Annapolis Royal and the Annapolis Valley. (Check out Shakes on Main in Lawrencetown for a super breakfast and Hampton for a walk on the beach!) We hope to stay at Breezy Bay Cottage next time we go to the Fundy shore.

Guest cottage ( not shown) behind the house . Separate entrance , one double bed and bathroom.
The main house was once a dance hall, unique 12 sided building that we would love our guests to enjoy as much as we do. Our deck commands a spectacular vista of the Nova Scotia side of the Bay of Fundy, both the sunrise and sunset can be enjoyed on this property..
  • Liz's Lovely Lighthouse Lookout. Liz is a delightful hostess and the spot is absolutely gorgeous! I would stay there again for sure! Clean, excellent breakfast... and Liz is charming and kind.

  • Liz’s place is charming and very comfortable. Liz surprised us with breakfast every morning and hot coffee. Breakfast was excellent!!! Liz and her husband were very helpful with tourist suggestions. The rental space has views of the bay and you can hear the ocean. We highly recommend visiting the area and staying at Liz’s!

  • If you like being in a pittoresque quiet place by the shore, you will love this cute, new, modern, very clean Independant room and bath. Liz was friendly and helpful. If weather permits you can watch the sun set down on the waterfront from the little front space . Very sweet and refreshing. Every thing is sparkling clean.

  • Nice cottage style space with views of the Bay. Very cozy, private and comfortable. Super nice hosts and amazing breakfast. Thx Liz and Ray for a great stay!

    Curtis And Katharine2019-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • Liz and Ray are easy-going, thoughtful and genuine hosts and we're so glad we stayed here and discovered Margaretsville! Their place is a unique and stunning location not to be missed. We had a restful sleep and a huge breakfast that fuelled us for the day (thanks especially for the perfectly poached eggs and homemade muffins and preserves! ) Highly recommended and don't miss eating at 'by the dock of the bay'. Hands down the best fish and chips in Nova Scotia!!!!!

    Denise2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • This place, along with Liz and Cap'n Ray's hospitality, is unrivaled in the places I've stayed in the Atlantic provinces. I had no expectations and left knowing I will return to Margarettesville. It's a very peaceful, quaint and relaxing community. If you're on the fence, do yourself the favour and book it. Cheers.

  • Wonderful location...peace and quiet! Sunrises and sunsets with a view of the lighthoues

    Christopher2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • You can not beat the view. It is STUNNING. This is a little piece of heaven - a lovely rural non-commercialized location, but yet an amazing cafe directly across the street with delicious affordable food. We loved our experience with Liz and Ray (oh, and Timbit!) . We enjoyed sharing a complementary arrival beverage on the deck and a yummy breakfast with both Liz and Ray. They are genuine nice folks! It is an extra bonus that the room with a bathroom you stay in is in a separate building from the main house. You have that extra privacy of not sharing a bedroom wall ;-) not always available at Airbnb's!! Highly recommend a stay here and we will be back!

Need some time away from it all, just you and the waves? Enjoy 200ft Bay of Fundy water frontage all to yourself. In this 1500sq ft house you're literally on the water, with only your camera lens between you and the Bay. Relax with modern comforts you’d expect from a quality holiday rental: FIBE Wifi, HD TV, wood stove, electric heat, new beds, stocked kitchen. We're following strict guidelines on social distancing (keypad entry) and adhering to heightened protocols on disinfecting surfaces.
Whether you're in need of a staycation, or a work-from-home alternative, this is the ideal space to switch off and recharge your batteries. The super fast fiber optic internet allows you work-from-home or stream the latest binge-worthy television series or movies. If you’re yet to experience the powerful pull of the world's highest tide, then you need to experience here it at 'A World Away'. The privacy and front seat location to the mesmerizing power of the Bay is a game changer. Spending time this close to the water transports you a world away from it all, so the interior and exterior have been designed to maximize Bay views. The well-appointed finish maintains the integrity and charm of this historic home, while providing for modern living. A wall of picture windows in the living room look onto the Bay and the dining room extends onto a large private deck. You'll melt into the breathtaking sunset over the Bay and will feel like VIP guests to a show put on only for you. You might choose to cook up a feast of local fare (lobster and scallops are a must) in the fully equipped custom kitchen or hang out on the deck and barbecue Bayside. In summer months, the herb garden provides a tasty garnish, as does the tomato greenhouse. The east facing deck is the perfect sun trap for savouring your first cuppa of the day. Air conditioning provided free of charge through all North-West facing windows, courtesy of the Bay of Fundy!
The house is located on the Bay of Fundy in the quiet fishing village of Port George, a central location in the heart of the Annapolis Valley. This slice of paradise offers the best of all worlds: a tranquil place to slow down and bathe in mindfulness, while located in the heart the Annapolis Valley with prime access to all this special place has to offer - whale watching in Digby Neck, brewery/winery/cider trails, historic towns of Annapolis Royal / Wolfville / Digby / Lunenburg, Mahone Bay, farmer’s markets, fishing, hiking, kayaking/canoeing, cycling, etc. Alternatively, enjoy your own stretch of sea wall and private access to the volcanic rock beach - perfect for bird watching, seal spotting, rock pool exploring or toe dipping. Port George is a prime fishing spot, especially during the summer mackerel season. Whatever you choose to do during your stay, sitting on your deck watching the seals bob up and down as you watch the sunset is medicine for the soul. Guests have also spotted dolphins from the deck! We look forward to welcoming you! Thanks.
  • Truly a wonderful place to stay!

    Stacey2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great place to relax and enjoy the view. It is a beautifully restored 19th century farmhouse with modern amenities. The stunning views are priceless. Our family spent Christmas here, just recharching, doing a lot of reading, sitting by the fireplace, enjoying home cooked meals, and exploring the tidal pools during low tide. We had a picturesque white christmas, with a roaring fire, delicious fresh lobsters, and the sound of the bay right outside our windows. It was worth the trip! Kate was a wonderful host, who was very thoughtful and helpful.

    Cristina2019-12-25T00:00:00Z
  • Oh my, this would be the place you don't want to leave on every single level. Hostess, view, close to necessities so much space. I so so loved the wood stove. My kids saw the highest tides in the world. A new moon enhanced that further. Their experience beach combing, tide watching and seafood eating was something that my kids got to share with their classmates, which was quite exciting for kids half way across the country! It sure was hard to leave but makes me determined to return asap.

    Jolyne2019-11-26T00:00:00Z
  • In the heart of Port George, literally at the edge of the ocean, this place was wonderful. The charming home had every conceivable amenity, personal touches, and countless kitchen conveniences that you wouldn't normally find in an Airbnb, including endless utensils & appliances. Despite the lovely upper bedrooms, we decided to sleep on the pull-out sofa bed in the living room so that we could enjoy the soothing sound of the moonlit ocean waves, next to the warm & cozy woodstove, sipping tea, while we fell asleep watching a movie. The blazing fast internet speed was a huge bonus not often found in areas like this. Kate is a pure gift, a delightful soul, and a warm host, with a great loving and fun personality. HIGHLY RECOMMEND this place! We loved Nova Scotia and the Annapolis Valley SO MUCH that we are actually trying to arrange things to move from Toronto Ontario to live in Port George. Fingers crossed!!!

    Blair2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • We arrived in a mini snow storm and were happy to arrive. The view in the morning of the rolling waves was breath taking. Comfortable, clean and cozy!

    Rebecca2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • This place is unbelievable, spectacular and a place like no other. The house is literally sitting beside the ocean. It’s like waking up and thinking you are on a cruise ship because all you see is water. I was sad to have to leave this beautiful paradise. I will be back ❤️

    Lisa2019-11-06T00:00:00Z
  • Location, location. Sit back and relax watching marine mammals and local halibut and scallop fishermen.

    Nick2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Best Airbnb experience ever! The house is amazing - the photos do not do it justice. During high tide, the living room couch is less than 10 feet from the water. The dramatic tides of the Bay of Fundy make it so that is really all you need, but thanks to Kate and her amazing hospitality, we had so much more both in the house and during our explorations. The house is stylish and well appointed. Very important for us, the mattress in the master bedroom was of the highest quality and made our 5 night stay as comfortable as sleeping at home. The kitchen is not only well supplied with everything you need for cooking (including spices and oils), but there is a *greenhouse* with veggies and herbs (dependent on the season, of course - we were there in time to enjoy late season delicious tomatoes!). Kate also left us some special treats to start out our time. Much appreciated! Kate also gave us great recommendations for things to do and see on the way into town, while staying in town, and on the way out. I can’t imagine a better place to stay or experience. Highest recommendation for Kate’s place.

  • There is lots of great reviews for this place and it doesn’t disappoint when you arrive. Cute loft space, clean, nice view. There is a vcr with a bunch of movies so we opted to kick back, stay in for the evening, and watch an old Leonardo DiCaprio movie! Bed and furniture were all comfy and clean. I would definitely go back.

    Joan2019-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay in the Loft! We arrived after driving for 9 hours and were exhausted. We got everything up the stairs and had a chance to finally relax. The space was very well appointed, with lots of cushions and comfortable places to sit. The kitchenette had everything we needed, and we loved the conduction cooktop - very easy to use! The skylights were also a nice touch. And the bed was so comfortable! As well, the accommodation was very easy to find, and quite close to the grocery store and other amenities in Middleton. We will definitely be back!

  • My husband had a change to location for a meeting very last minute which required him to travel another two hours very late to be able to meet very early in the morning. Susan not only answered our messages extremely late, she was also a huge help in a find location last minute that would allow him to check in after 9pm. I highly recommend Susan’s as a place to stay!

    Meghan2019-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • Susan made our stay absolutely wonderful. Stayed in her loft apt & we were beyond pleased with the space. The place was very clean, quiet, had everything we needed, beautiful skylights above the bed & bathtub, private entrance & patio deck, cozy seating to relax with TV, bed was really comfortable, extra comforter was provided & A/C! Our stay was during hurricane Dorian & we lost power due to the storm but Susan made sure we had lights, hot water & cocoa, offered us to use her propane cooker to cook food and even offered us to move to her lower apt where she had a fireplace for more heat. She went out of her way before, during & after the storm. The day before we left for home she brought us up a few fresh vegetables to enjoy. The morning we left she sent us off with baby tomatoes & fresh blueberries for our trip. She was very knowledgeable about the area & offered some tips & advice on places & areas to check out. She was there when you needed her for anything but also gave us our space & privacy. The coziness & cleanliness of Susan's loft & property really made us feel right at home. We can't wait for our next trip back & we will most definitely will be staying with Susan in our home away from home. Glad we found this place & we highly recommend Susan & both her rentals. I had a chance to see her 2 bedroom rental & it's a huge space that is spectacular. I guarantee your stay here with Susan will be well worth it.

A quiet, cozy, private cottage overlooking the Bay of Fundy invites you to relax; slow down. Enjoy breakfast and/or yoga on the deck, or just enjoy book in the shade of the umbrellas. Book a luxurious spa treatment at Hairitage House. Feeling more adventurous? Book a whale-watching trip, visit a local winery or brewery, check out a nearby zoo, or sign up for a soapstone-carving workshop. Don't feel like cooking? Choose fast food, pub grub, or homestyle dining -- all within a ten-minute drive.
Compared to local waterfront properties, the cottage is private, sitting atop an incline, overlooking the Bay of Fundy, surrounded by trees, with a brook running to the sea. Where the brook meets the sea is a popular mackerel fishing spot. If you want to try your luck - or even if you want to just roam the rocky beach, please note that the right of way to the waterfront is across the road through a bower of wild roses, to the left of the large white house with the red metal roof. Previous guests have appreciated the especially well-appointed kitchen with its selection of kitchen appliances (including a food processor, electronic scale, slow cooker, blender, hand mixer, panini-maker, coffee grinder), and an excellent selection of herbs and spices. Some liked two yoga mats on hand, enjoying outdoor yoga on the deck, accompanied by the flow of water in the brook.
Known to the Mi'kmaq as "Goolwagopskooch" (Haunt of the Hooded Seal), Port George once had a shipyard, and was a thriving fishing and sea port with bustling trade routes to Saint John, NB, and Boston, Massachusetts. First settled in 1760 and renamed in 1812 for King George, the port declined with the advent of the railway and motor cars. The one remnant of days gone by - besides a few of the houses - is a pepperpot lighthouse dating from 1889, which still features a red light burning through each night.
  • Andria’s “Wit’sEnd” cottage is an R & R haven! We felt right at home from the moment we arrived. The kitchen is so well stocked, even our chef son was impressed! It’s cozy, comfortable and located in a quiet community overlooking the Bay of Fundy. Andria went above and beyond when we were stranded due unforeseen car repairs. We highly recommend Andria’ lovely cottage!

    Kathleen2019-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • Wits End is a wonderful place to stay and Andria has thought of everything you could possibly need while staying there . It is close to the bay of Fundy , peaceful and private but easy to commute to the local sights from . The views are wonderful and the sound of the brook is so relaxing . We loved our stay there and would recommend it to anyone ... we felt so at home it was sad to leave ! Thanks for everything Heather and Peter

  • We love staying in Andria's cottage. Sitting on her deck with the background music of the brook is magical! All parts of the cottage are super clean and creatively and comfortably decorated. We really enjoyed our days at Wits' End and hope to return again next year!

  • My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed our week at Wits End Cottage. We have stayed at a few cottages in the Port George area over the years, and this was one of our favourite. The cottage felt like home during our stay and it was stocked with every imaginable amenity...from every kitchen tool and appliance to bathroom needs...and even yoga mats (which were utilized for daily yoga on the deck) The flowing stream directly beside the cottage was lovely to hear and enhanced the calm peacefulness of our stay. The cottage is perfectly situated to allow for nice strolls along the Bay, or a quick drive into town for essentials...or day trips into surrounding towns and villages. Highly recommend “The Artists Circle” in Margaretsville, which is full of original art from local artists. Thank you Andria for being a great host (and Wits End Cottage) for a perfect place to enjoy the natural beauty of Port George & Nova Scotia. I am sure you will be seeing us again in the future. • The name of this cottage is accurate - as in when you're at your "Wit's End" , it is time to book a stay. Beautuful cottage located in scenic Port George abd a stone's throw away from the Bay of Fundy (literally). We fell asleep listening to the creek which ran along side the property - a sliding door in the master bedroom makes it such an inviting experience. I came down with two kids (2 and 10), my husband and a 120 lbs malamute that our host was so accommodating of. After I had a life changing medical diagnosis this winter, between work, volunteering, medical appointments and being a parent- the cottage was an ideal get away. I curled up on the day bed and read my choice of amazing novels with a hot tea - while looking at the beautiful bay. I can't recommend this spot enough. It was magical.

    Dani2019-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • Andria's place is truly a relaxing and peaceful place to stay at. The babbling brook next to the cottage was a pleasure to hear during our stay and we enjoyed the deck's view of the Bay of Fundy and wildlife. The cottage is fully stocked with items to cook with. Along with tons of recommendations on places to see. I would be a return visitor to this Airbnb for sure!

    Holly2019-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • Andria's cottage is an amazing property that contained everything we needed and some surprises such as an incredible collection of spices! It's very clean and well laid-out with comfortable beds and linens. The detailed notebook of local places of interest was really helpful. We especially enjoyed the sound of the brook from our bedroom and sitting on the deck with the music of birds and the brook in the background. These are some of the reasons we had a wonderful stay and hope to return when we visit the Valley. Thank you, Andria!

    Cherie2018-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • This was a wonderful experience. This cottage is very well appointed and will have everything you could have anticipated you would need and then some. It’s very homey and comfortable. It can’t be beat for privacy. Communication with the host was outstanding and she genuinely cared that all your needs were met. The absolutely best feature is a brook that runs right beside the house. Not only did my boys spend hours playing and exploring in it, but the sound of it bubbling all day and night was so soothing. We splept with the bedroom patio door open every night even if it was cool because it was so relaxing. You could not have a better “spa” experience. We will definitely stay again.

  • Mike went above and beyond, technical difficulties with a water pump, was not going to stop Nova Scotian hospitality. It was all fixed by the time we drove up. He offered us the opportunity to find another place, gracious to the end. We loved the place, the area, the colours. What can be better than the fall colours in the Maritime. Driving around we came across beautiful scenery, history, great antique stores. Short drive to Fundy Bay. Would go back in a heartbeat

A spacious 2-story open concept apartment in the middle of our house with a private entrance and upper deck overlooking large gardens on a country road. Although we are in a rural area, we are only 4 minutes from the town of Middleton and 10 minutes from Kingston and CFB Greenwood. We are centrally located in the Annapolis Valley, close to historic Fort Anne and Port Royal, 20 minutes to the world famous Bay of Fundy, and a 40 minute drive to the south shore.
Enjoy approximately 800 sq. ft. of cozy living space spread out over 2 levels. The gardens are host to a wide variety of bird and insect species and the deck is perfect for bird-watching. Our location is as beautiful in the winter as it is the rest of the year. We have in-floor heat which maintains a cozy temperature in cold weather. Our road is always plowed (with the exception of extreme storms). Guests are welcome to explore the grounds and gardens at their leisure (which are always a work in progress). A variety of coffees and teas are provided. A barbecue is available exclusively for guests. Cable TV includes Netflix. Hot water never runs out as we have separate tanks for each dwelling. No laundry but there are laundromats in the town of Middleton.
  • Steve & Crystal's is an excellent place to stay while in the Middleton area. Met our expectations and went well beyond them! Will be booking here again in the future.

    Laura2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • We loved the apartment; it is comfortable, interesting and loaded with amenities. We booked for one night and stayed for two! It was great to just relax and watch the variety of birdlife outside the windows. We also found a good pub nearby where we had supper and listened to some live music. Steve and Crystal were positive, flexible, friendly hosts.

    Laura2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second stay at this location. Steve and Crystal once again hosted a spotlessly clean, very comfortable stay. Well appointed with anything you would need. Quiet location, only a few minutes from family in Greenwood/Kingston. My wife and I have stayed in numerous Airbnb's across North America, this is probably our favorite. We highly recommend this property.

  • A warm and cozy cabin perfect for a quiet getaway. We had an amazing visit!

    Laura2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Do not underestimate the photos of this little cottage! It is much more than what is pictured: a peaceful, warm retreat into the quiet of the woods and lake. Even with our rubbish weather, we were able to enjoy the hot tub, the heated bathroom floor, a walk in the rain, a canoe ride, and the warmth of the fireplace while doing a puzzle and singing songs. Sonja was extremely quick and kind in her replies and even got the furnace guys to come by to fix it while it unexpectedly stopped working. We had a marvellous and romantic Thanksgiving weekend. Thank you & hope to be back again soon!

  • This is a fantastic and cozy cottage. It has a shared driveway with another cottage, but you would never know they were there. My wife and I did our honeymoon here and plan on going back again and again.

  • What a beautiful location to reconnect with self and nature. And husband! The chalet is perfect, functional, clean, with everything one could need for comfort, sleep and eating. Thank you to the host who answered my questions in minutes. Great service and warm greetings. I highly recommend this magical chalet in the woods. Much gratitude to Sonja, the host, and Gaïa, Mother Nature. Even a beaver and a heron came to visit us! 🙏🏼💫

Our rooms include: Queen Beds Desk Noise Cancelling Machine Ceiling and Window Fan Coffee/Tea Keurig, Sugar and Cream or Milk Microwave (in common area) Kettle (in common area) Bar Fridge (in common area) Continental Breakfast (Bagels w Cream Cheese, Granola. The History and Things to Do in the Area: Built in 1804 we are the second oldest house in Lequille NS. Our house was built by Thomas Easson the grandson of John Easson who came to Annapolis Royal in 1738 as the master carpenter at Fort Anne. We are an Annapolis County registered historic property and upon completion of the house in 1804 it was named The Ashdale. It is because of this that we named our farm Ashdale Acres. The house has historically been used for many different agricultural purposes and was a working dairy farm up until 1968. Scott and I fell in love with this house and property as soon as we saw it. Annapolis Royal, the oldest (and one of the quaintest) towns in Canada, is the home of The Historic Gardens and Fort Anne as well as many unique shops, galleries and restaurants. You can take a local tour like the Acadian Heritage Experience or the Candlelight Graveyard Tour. Have a look at the Annapolis Royal website for more ideas about what to do in Annapolis Royal. We think Lequille is pretty special too. We are a 5 minute walk to the famous Lequille Country Store which is popular for hunting and fishing supplies, but also features snacks, sandwiches, and lets not forget, Ice Cream. Right across the street, and also a 5 minute walk is Still Fired Distillery– it is the first “legal” still in Nova Scotia and it now specializes in the production of the fine, hand-crafted and unique spirits produced here. They have a beautiful tasting room and you can even sample their product in a cocktail, which makes the 5 minute walk very beneficial!
What is nearby: There is so much to do in the area, you definitely will be busy! And no matter where you go, you are guaranteed a scenic drive. In the area there are many art galleries, several wineries, quite a few breweries, antique shops and theatres. Music: You won’t get very far in Nova Scotia without having the opportunity to enjoy the great musical talent that exists here. You do not have to leave Annapolis Royal for live performances, many of the restaurants in Annapolis Royal host live music on a regular basis as does the Annapolis Brew Pub right downtown. Dawn Oman, an artist in neighbouring Bridgetown has purchased an old church on the main street. It houses her wonderful Art Gallery as well as regular music jams. The acoustics in the church are fabulous which makes every live performance a special experience. Lunn’s Mills Brewery in nearby Lawrencetown has regular music events and great food. Below we have categorized a few attractions by their distance from our location. 2 km or less: Downtown Annapolis Royal – drive, cycle or take the rail trail Lequille Country Store Still Fired Distillery Historic Gardens Fort Anne O’Dell Museum – Local history and a geneology research centre with staff to assist you. Sinclair Museum Fort View Golf Course also on the property is the Founders House, listed below. The Founders Restaurant Annapolis Royal Farmers and Traders Market – Wed/Sat in the summer Under 15 KM Port Royal Melanson Acadian Settlement Tidal Power Station Mickey Hill Loop - Hiking Trail Dunromin Campground – canoe, kayak, paddle boat rentals Upper Clements Park Nautical Seafood in Parkers Cove Under 25K Bridgetown Valleyview Provincial Park Raven Haven -beachside-family-park canoe, kayak, pedal boat rentals Bear River – galleries, wineries and cafes A Little Farther: Digby – 35KM with a store named Frenchy's that is Nova Scotia famous. Liverpool and South Shore with white sand beaches – 113 KM Yarmouth – 132 KM Kejimkujik National Park – 50KM

  • A quaint and rustic cabin. Very clean and comfortable. The location right on the shore of the Bay of Fundy was excellent. The hosts were very hospitable and helpful. Would stay there again.

  • It provided a great home base to the various family members that popped in and out, and was in a great location to get to much of N.S. We saw all the stages of the bay, up, down, calm and angry. Awesome, cute place, that we'd definitely consider for our next visit.

    Richard2019-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage overlooking Fundy Bay was a great find for us. Located on a bluff overlooking the ocean, in a small, secluded fishing village, was just perfect for a quiet get-away. The host were very thoughtful in laying in a fire before we arrived to take off the chill of the cool late-summer air. Perfect.

  • Michael and Kathy were great hosts! View of the Margaretsville lighthouse from the dining room windows was great!

  • Casa Nova is a great place in a quaint little community. There is a lovely beach to explore and a lighthouse all within a short walk. The cottage was very clean and had everything we needed. One of the bedrooms is in a separate building outside that we were not aware of prior to booking which would have been nice as we were a group of ladies but it worked out and the bedroom was nice and very clean and our first night the weather was beautiful. The next night was Hurricane Dorian, so no one slept there that night! Lol We had an exceptional view of the angry sea during the storm which was simply amazing! I would definitely recommend Casa Nova as it was a lovely spot and we had a great weekend despite the Hurricane!

    Kim2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Casa Nova is a gem! Gorgeous location right at the top of the cliff on the Bay of Fundy (fenced in, so no danger). You can hear the waterfall as well as the surf. Beautiful sunset & lighthouse views. The cottage is on the small side, but worked well for our family. The hosts provided fleece capes with hoods that we used on a nightly basis for that Fundy chill. Lots of candles. Wonderful dining room with picture-window views of the Bay. Highly recommend!

    Valerie2019-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • This is probably one of the best possible places for the view of the lighthouse and town! The rooms were huge and the extra cabin/bedroom was spectacular!! Highly recommend!!

  • Susan’s place was excellent value. It was very well equipped and clean and situated right on the Annapolis River Susan was very helpful giving us great suggestions for things to do

    Mike2019-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • A great place to stay by the river. Quick responses from Susan. Check in easy. Spotless, homely accommodation is well-equipped and maintained. Very thoughtful touches included fans on before we arrived and a jug of ice cold water in the fridge. A bonus for us was sitting out on the patio overlooking the river and using the bbq. We didn't meet Susan but Dianne was fascinating to talk to about local history and research. Wish we could've stayed longer.

  • The two bedroom apartment is the bottom part of a large house directly on the Annapolis River in Middleton. The beds were comfortable. Everything that one might need for a vacation stay was provided. We used the barbecue to cook a meal one night and visited local restaurants located a short distance away. We stayed for two days during the hottest part of the summer but the provided fans and open windows made the space quite comfortable. The attention to the details and decorations made our stay memorable!

The winter season is upon us, so why not make the best of it. Come to Riverside Retreat for a winter get-away, just five minutes from historic Annapolis Royal (2 hrs from Halifax). The cottage is perfect for couples or young families interested in exploring the natural winter landscape of the Annapolis Valley.
Please come for a relaxing time at the cabin, and sit in front of the electric fireplace with a good book and cozy blanket. End your day sitting at an open fire outside the cabin (firewood included) while gazing at the stars and Milky Way through our crystal clear winter skies, and don't forget to make a wish upon a falling star! Note that 'smores' also taste good in the dark winter night! Either way, this is the place for you to beat those winter-time blues.
You are five-minute drive from historic Annapolis Royal, the oldest permanent settlement in North America and host to Fort Anne, the Historic Gardens, the Habitation, the first tidal power plant in North America, and a quaint main street and waterfront on the world-renowned Bay of Fundy, with the highest tides in the world. You are also less than a 45 minute drive from Kejimkujik National Park, and whale-watching or sea kayaking out of nearby Digby, Nova Scotia. A short walking trail to the Annapolis River starts at your door, giving you access to marine wildlife (beaver, ducks, geese, seals, etc.) and fishing for mackerel, flounder, and 'lunker'-sized striped bass (these tidal waters require no fishing license). There is also an outdoor barbecue and fire pit ready to help you roast some marshmallows.
  • This beautiful little cabin was perfect for our weekend winter getaway. Nice and quiet, just off the beaten path, and within a short drive to Annapolis Royal. We enjoyed several hikes and walks, as well as the experiences in town. His cabin, right on the river, and with stairs' access down to the water. Will definitely have to make a return trip in the summer!

  • Great place nice and clean loved the added touches of local products for breakfast and other amenities a great place to stay

    Chris2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • Jeremy was a great host! He had the place ready for us with some cider, fireplace and music on! We loved the local bacon and eggs he left in the fridge for us. We had a great stay! :)

    Tara2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic get away in a beautiful spot! Jeremy is a super host and it definitely shows, he provides excellent attention to detail (local apple cider in ice ready to go, local bacon and free range eggs for breakfast and a Christmas tree all set up). He is also great at providing recommendations and local must-sees/dos. We will definitely be back!

    Dan2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Jeremy went above and beyond for us. We were welcomed with ciders on ice and local bacon and eggs. Coming down to visit family has never been so easy. He made us feel very welcomed even had a little Christmas tree set up. Just perfection. Thank you for all the laughs.

    Erika2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is comfortable but rustic. Lots of privacy, a great deck for eating out, and a nice path through the woods and down over the stairs to the water. There aren't many walks from the cabin, but it's well located for exploring (by car) the nearby town of Annapolis Royal (5 minutes away) and many wonderful parks, hiking trails, fishing villages and lovely waterside towns all along the coasts of Nova Scotia.

    Barbara2019-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent and attentive hosts in a comfortable and relaxing setting. What more could anyone want? In the last year my wife and I have stayed here on three occasions (the last time during extra tropical storm Dorian - where we were as snug as bugs!). We are looking forward to our fourth upcoming trip in November! We find Jeremy's cabin a great place to stay when we visit Annapolis Royal (where we are treated to wonderful venues at the King's Theatre) and the Historical Gardens while touring the surrounding area. :)

    Owen2019-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • Just fabulous Jeremy make our trip perfect. The cabin is clean and well located. The bed is very comfortable and you have everything fresh for breakfast eggs, bacon and blueberry. Don’t hesitate to make Jeremy’s place, your choice and you will enjoy it!

The entire cottage was very well stocked and functional, the hosts are friendly, helpful and organized. Our kids loved playing with the beach toys and running around , and we grownups loved using the kayaks on the quiet lake and experiencing the beautiful starry sky. We will come back!

    Rhea2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • This is our 3rd summer in a row staying here at the cottage and it's as lovely as ever. Keith and Sarah are communicative hosts who are available if needed but also give us our privacy. (I rated the accommodations "as expected" only because we knew what to expect from our previous visits, and those expectations were met!) I fully anticipate visiting again next summer... it's something we've come to look forward to.

We spent our time reading in the hammock by the lake, coffee on the deck, dinner on the BBQ and ending it with a fire ride beside the cottage. As much as we were getting 'away from it all' the wifi in the 2 bedroom cabin was a nice touch.
