  • My boyfriend and I went to stay for a romantic getaway to celebrate his birthday. The pods were simply gorgeous, even better than they look in the picture. Elaine greeted us and we were made to feel so welcome. Everything was spotlessly clean, could not fault this hideaway it was perfect. Had our own private hot tub and the owners had even left a bottle of wine for us to celebrate which was a lovely touch. After a great nights sleep in a really comfy bed we had a fantastic breakfast hamper delivered. Warm croissants, jam, tea, milk, orange juice.....fantastic start to the day. Could not recommend this place enough, thank you for a wonderful stay and we will definitely be coming back ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

  • Really nice set up in a beautiful spot. Having a private hot tub was wonderful after a day of hiking around the local area. Very good directions and great with responding to questions. We are telling everyone we know about this place and we hope to be back one day!

  • Such a tranquil place to stay and relax. The extra touches were so lovely breakfast basket hand delivered in the morning with hot crossiants, and fresh milk and juice in fridge for you on arrival. Both really lovely hosts. Hot tub is amazing and the views spectacular. We're so lucky to live in such a beautiful area. Can't wait to come back and stay many thanks Tina

    Linda2019-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • We wish we could stay longer! The pod is immaculate, super clean and cosy. The location is blissfully quiet. The host went above and beyond with the bottle of wine and breakfast hamper. 100% recommend staying here, and no doubt will be staying again in the future ❤️

    Laura2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • The pod was amazing, so clean and stylish and just the right size for myself and my boyfriend (and our dog). Jon and Elaine were very helpful and friendly, they answered any questions (both prior to and during our trip) quickly and had excellent local knowledge about where to visit and eat. We loved that their was a fire bowl to use so in the evenings we could lit the fire and get in the hot tub and just relax. My friends have seen photos I've posted online and have asked where it is and how to book, so they're impressed too! Thank you for a great weekend away!

  • We stayed for 4 nights, it was a lovely place. We cooked a lot, the kitchen was really good, has everything. It’s a home away from home. The beds were comfy and it was clean. We are from the city so it was nice to be in touch with the nature again. It was a lovely stay. Thanks Marcus.

  • A beautiful house in a beautiful setting, really peaceful. Lovely little towns nearby if you fancy coffee and a cake or a stroll around a church. If you go during winter bring some logs with you or buy en route for the wood burning stove - this made the house really cosy. Amazing cooker and plenty of crockery for guests. Would 100% stay again!

  • This is my second time staying here and Tim & Rina’s house is truly a home away from home. Except the view is likely better than anyone else’s. The entire house is warm and just beautiful in every sense. We’ve become friends now and saying goodbye is always so difficult because they are such lovely people and it always feels like there’s not enough time there.

    Ashley2019-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful home with stunning views over the valleys and hills. The owners have converted an old Welsh longhouse into a very comfortable, spacious home. There are plenty of walks straight from the front door and many places of interest nearby. A unique experience.

    Vanessa2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • We held a really glorious retreat at the Highlands. Everyone was blown away by the view, the land and the glorious house. Tim & Rina are such happy, fun hosts. Their home is full of character, books, music and joy. Thank you for the opportunity to stay in such an incredible space!

  • We had a fantastic stay here. The views and scenery surrounding the property is truly spectacular. We made the most of being outdoors by sitting out and using the bbq. The rooms are well equipped and beds comfortable, with extra camp beds if needed. The hosts were fantastic- helping out with the shopping as we were all running late! We will definitely keep this property in mind for any future group trips and holidays!

  • Fantastic property with huge character- the facilities are excellent, there’s a great sauna and the location is perfect. We’ve been twice now and look forward to going again.

  • One of the joys of Airbnb is the individuality of the stays, and I've stayed in a few Airbnb now and have always been impressed. I have to say though Airbnb really undersells this place. It's so much bigger, grander and interesting than we expected. Richard and his wife were exceptional hosts (even offering to put us up an extra night at no additional cost when we had a small disaster with one of our cars). Highly highly recommended. Great for get togethers in a secluded but accessible part of the UK. Lovely roaring fires to keep you warm. A breakfast ready to be cooked awaits you on the house! Even a sauna which came as a surprise. Like I say, pictures don't do this place justice, and I can't stress enough how welcoming Richard and his wife were to us. Genuinely nice people; a genuinely lovely stay!

    Callum2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • If you are looking for a stylish rural retreat then look no further than this fabulous property. The house itself is a delight to stay in and the Shropshire hills are stunning. A brilliant place to meet up with friends, forget real life and unwind. I hope to be back in the not too distant future. Many thanks Richard! Until next time...

  • Beautiful house in a glorious location, with every home comfort. Richard's welcome was lovely, and so helpful to know everything about fires etc. Now wishing we'd had a longer stay.

    Claire2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing location! It's a little chilly inside but the abundance of fires inside make it a very cozy place to be. Perfect for families and groups... I would absolutely recommend this!

Gaer Hall with hot tub(sleeps 14-16 plus child's beds and cots} is a fantastic place for groups of friends and families to explore the area, relax, unwind, and have fun. For the energetic, we are an hour and a half from Zip World/Bounce Below and 10 minutes away from Offas Dyke path. Ideal, too, for hen/stag parties. Walks start at the end of our drive. Dog and child friendly. Kids love our picnic area across the fields. A supermarket/ PO ,and 2 pubs serving food are within 15 minutes walk.
What makes this space unique is the space. You can bring your parents and kids for the weekend and not find them again until Monday! The sheer size of the place means that different elements within your party can do their own thing in their own space, unlike some holiday homes where the bedrooms are cramped and everybody shares the same living area. The Hall is a unique restored Montgomeryshire barn with vaulted ceilings, endless beams and inglenook fireplaces complete with woodburners. Set in 11 acres, there's plenty of space outdoors too to let the dogs off the leash and the kids - large and small - can enjoy a game of 5 a side in the garden, picnic by the stream or relax in the hot tub.
Guilsfield is a beautiful ancient settlement in the Severn Valley, Mid Wales. Gaer Hall is part of the Gaer Hall estate. Its' position is not overlooked : you can enjoy uninterrupted views of open countryside as you wander through our fields picking blackberries or, in a good year sloes for your sloe gin. You can let your dogs off the leash in the fields and picnic by the stream. If you run out of tonic water, the Costcutter is 2 minutes drive away and open 7 30am till 9pm. Gaer Hall - it's peaceful and welcoming, but at the same time accessible. We are about an hour and a half from Liverpool, Birmingham and Manchester.
  • Super host, extremely helpful. Will stay again when we are back in the area

  • Incredible house for a large group with lots of space

    George2020-01-11T00:00:00Z
  • 14 of us (including a toddler, baby and dog) stayed at Gaer hall over New Year and have just returned. Margaret is an absolutely wonderful host, so thoughtful and helpful throughout the whole process - a godsend when you are trying to organise lots of people with different requirements. She kindly left us homemade cake, cheesecake and fizz which was so lovely. The house is very charming, with everything you need for a long stay. There was nothing missing at all. The location is quiet and only 10 mins walk to a lovely pub (Kings Head) with nice food and very good service and a warm welcome. There is also a cost utter a few mins before that with lovely staff and good amount of basics. We would also recommend taking the first track on your right having turned left out of the drive - keep going and you'll find a fab path up into the woods with lovely views and scenery. Our whole group loved the place and would like to thank Margaret again for being such a great host and making our new year one to remember!

    Maddy2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful house with great spaces for large get togethers. Margaret was a great host and there were nice touches as extras, cake and wine on arrival. Dogs welcome which was fab and great outdoor space for them to run around.

    Pam2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Andrew's home is located in a village in the middle of Galles. Wonderful nature around and many opportunities to do activities outside. It is not far away from the main station (only 20 min walk) and there is a nice path along the river. The home is big, spacious and really well maintained. The is a big bathroom and kitchen. The small garden is simply lovely. The bedroom is quite big and the bed is comfortable and large. I hope to come back soon and to spend more days in your lovely home Andrew! Thank you very much again!

  • Best place I’ve stayed Andrew is very welcoming and helpful his house is very clean it feels like a home away from home

    Ryan2019-07-19T00:00:00Z
  • The house is located on a small housing estate about 1.5 Kilometers from Newtown centre where you can find all of the usual facilities. For adventurous guests there is a pathway that starts just a few hundred yards from the house that follows the river Severn into town, which takes about 20 minutes. This is also part of the official Severn Way Path. The house has all amenities, a spacious kitchen and lounge with Sky TV. There is also a bijou back yard for sitting and relaxing in if the weather is nice and it is what you like! Upstairs there is a comfortable bedroom and a nice bathroom with a large shower and an equally large bath which I did not use because I did not have the time but it looked very inviting. The host allows free access to the fridge and its contents, although it is advisable to provide food and drink to suit your own personal tastes, as I did. I think the accommodation will suit most peoples requirements and they will be made very welcome.

  • We stayed at Garn Lodge for the weekend for my boyfriends birthday. Philip greeted us on arrival and showed us around. It was a beautiful little cosy lodge with everything you need. We had an issue with signal on the TV due to the weather but Philip did go out of his way to do what we could to sort the issue, which we were very grateful for. We had welsh cakes made by Lin which were lovely and complimentary wine for the TV issue which was appreciated! We’d happily visit again! (Hopefully with better weather!!)

  • Friendly, helpful hosts. Very comfortable bed and sofa. Warm, clean and cosy lodge. Lovely location and great for walks

  • My stay at Garn Lodge was everything I expected and more. Philip is a great host, he greeted me upon arrival, showed me how everything works and presented me with welsh cakes (baked by his wife; which were amazing!) and then altered the heating timer settings to suit my needs. The lodge was spotless, cosy and very warm!! The shower is nice and powerful, the bed is comfortable and there are little additions that make it a perfect stay, like the hairdryer, steam iron, toiletries, large soft towels to use, as well as having mint water and fresh milk in the fridge! The only slight negative would be the wifi, as it had a tendency to drop in and out of connection if you used more that one device i.e. phone and laptop. This was a slight hindrance for me due to a high workload needing to be completed but if it was just a leisurely stay I can't say it happened frequently enough to be an issue. Overall a perfect stay.

  • This is an amazing place in an amazing location. Close to Newtown and so peaceful and quiet. If you are looking for somewhere to stay in Mid Wales and switch off for a couple of days then this is the perfect retreat. Everything was 10/10. You can’t beat that! One word summary. Fantastic

A tranquil and secluded bespoke-built Shepherd’s Hut in an enviable location with stunning views. The hut has its own wood fired hot tub from which you can star gaze on clear nights. Our Shepherd’s Hut has been decorated in a comfortable “Laura Ashley” style by the owner – a retired designer. You will find a comfortable double bed, table and chairs, kitchen, shower room and toilet. The Shepherd’s Hut enjoys spectacular views from all windows across the Welsh countryside.
A continental breakfast is included for the first night and is available to buy after that if required. There is a dedicated parking area close to the Shepherd’s Hut with easy access to the accommodation so guests can come and go as they please. The farmstead is south facing with only one Shepherd’s Hut, which is not overlooked. Rather it is in its own secluded space. The farmstead is approached by a long driveway (don’t rush) then through gates. Our home was previously a working farm but the owners retired and sold most of the land to a nearby farm, so expect amazing uninterrupted views, lots of sheep and occasionally cows over the fence. The hot tub can be filled and the fire lit during the day before guests arrive for their first night. The tub is cleaned, freshly filled for each booking and the Shepherd’s hut is deep cleaned. We also always allow two days between each booking so guests can be assured of a high level of cleanliness.
If you can tear yourself away from the hot tub there is plenty to do in the area. Dolforwen Castle ruins are 1.5 miles away, Montgomery Castle ruins 8 miles, Powys Castle (National Trust) is 12 miles away near Welshpool, and Chirk Castle (also NT) is 35 miles. Glansevern Hall and gardens with its Courtyard Restaurant (Wed to Sun) is 7 miles. The Laura Ashley Factory Shop, Oriel Davies Art Gallery, Newtown Textile Museum, Robert Owen (Father of the worldwide Co-operative Movement) Museum, a cinema and a range of shops, pubs and restaurants are available in Newtown, 4 miles away, with Tesco’s and Morrison’s supermarkets only 3 miles away. The Bull and Heifer pub in Bettws Cedewain is 2 miles away.
  • The shepherds hut is set in the beautiful hills of Wales, surrounded by fields full of sheep and wild birds including blue tits and woodpeckers. The hut it’s self is modern inside complete with hob and heater. The mirrors and windows help the light flood in meaning you don’t need to use the lights until dark. Beautiful country theme inside with comfy pillows on the bed. The outside is decking with table and chairs perfect for eating whilst admiring the views. The wood fired hot tub is ideal anytime of day complete with colour changing light for the evening. The hosts are very welcoming and will try their best to help you with any needs you have, including lighting the hot tub for your arrival.

  • A beautiful place with a beautiful view! Warm welcome, cosy, lovely breakfast hamper and great value!

    Steffan2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely amazing stay at Allan & Yvonne’s place!! Everything was perfect, the bed was very comfy & cosy & all the extra amenities like the food hamper was great! The hot tub with a view was unreal & the logs provided lasted us all weekend. Would recommend this place to everyone, me and my girlfriend had such a relaxing weekend and the pictures don’t do it justice. Allan & Yvonne were great hosts, really welcoming & helpful!

    Luke2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • We had the most amazing experience, our accommodation was extremely stylish with everything we could need, breakfast hamper & complimentary toiletries were very nice touch. We thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub with amazing views across the countryside, with an exceptional host who ensured that we had enough logs to keep our fire going and provided us with nice hot water and hours of fun. A big thank you to Allan & Yvonne for allowing us to stay in your beautiful Shepherds Hut, you were both the perfect hosts and we are already looking to book our return trip in the summer.

    Claire2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • A hidden little gem in the welsh countryside, you couldn’t find a more cosy and romantic spot if you tried. Allan and Yvonne did such a lovely job on the design and decorating of the hut, you will so nice and warm in this sweet hut. Perfect place to relax after a stressful week, brilliant hosts and would highly recommend to anyone.

There is a playhouse, slide, swing and trampoline in the back garden.
We have available, a comfortable, dual aspect double bedroom with TV and a single bedroom with velux window (great for stargazing!) We also have a travel cot (suitable for a baby up to 2 years old) or child's inflatable bed (suitable for a child up to 8 years old) that can be set up in either the double or single room if required. Please state whether you would like just the double room or both rooms when booking. We can comfortably host 3 adults and a child, or 2 adults and 2 children -please message and enquire. The Airbnb site allows only 2 adults, 1 child and an infant to be booked but we can accommodate a second child up to the age of 8 at no extra cost. A continental breakfast is served each morning to be enjoyed in the kitchen, conservatory or outside on the patio. You can relax in the conservatory, where there is a work space, a selection of books, and a great view of the birds in the garden. If you fancy, unwind in the bubbles of the outdoor Lay-Z-Spa hot tub and soak up the scenery. (Just let us know at least 24 hours in advance so we can make sure it's up to temperature for you; available April to September.) In cooler evenings, settling in front of the cosy log burner in the shared living room is a pleasant and relaxing way to end the day. Free wi-fi is available throughout your stay.
This is a beautiful rural area in the hills, within easy driving distance of the sea. This is a great location to visit the quaint market town of Llanidloes, Clywedog reservoir, the Centre for Alternative Technology, Elan valley, the steam railways at Welshpool and Devil's Bridge, Hafren Forest, Lake Vyrnwy, Powis Castle, the source of the Severn, and Severn way cycle routes 8 and 81. • Sarah has been a wonderful host, exactly what you need after hours of driving and hiking in Wales. She has been incredibly friendly and stayed up to chat with us, and she made a fantastic breakfast the next morning inside a lovely conservatory. The house is Beautiful, surrounded by green meadows and very quiet and the bedroom is really really cosy and clean. Hope I'll have the chance to come back in Wales to stay again there, it's worth it. Grazie!

  • Sarah was really a wonderful host, very quick responses and gave all required information and direction to place beforehand. We checked in quite late at 9 , but we were received by cheerful Sarah and took us around the house. Morning view from double bedroom was refreshing! We felt completely at home. Nice continental breakfast in the morning with lot of options and beautiful backyard. Wish we had more time to stay, Would highly recommend this place for anyone planning to visit nearby.

  • Sarah has been a really great host. Her and her family have been wonderful to stay with. The house is immaculate, the grounds are beautiful and the location is nice and private. From the moment we walked through the door Sarah looked after us. Sarah was quick to answer questions about the local area including providing some great tips or recommendations. There was plenty to do at the house. TV in the living room and in the bedroom. We had a few drinks in the garden when the sun set. The hot tub was set up for us for when we arrived, towels provided, and Sarah put our wet clothes and such up on the washing line. The breakfast provided was continental. Plenty of cereal choice, drinks, fruit, pastries, etc. Sarah also offered us more choice that wasn’t put on the table. It was lovely to wake up to. Everything was fresh. Other positives include gorgeous views from the garden, private, gated parking, the host going the extra mile, and a big bath and powerful shower. If we are to come to this area again then I will definitely book with Sarah first. It is definitely great value for the service provided. If you are visiting this part of Wales and don’t wish to stay in a hotel then Sarah’s home is definitely the best place to stay. She will treat you as if you were a member of the family.

  • Mike and Rachael's place is absolutely lovely and they are very kind and welcoming. The place is really stylish, clean and very cosy. We absolutely loved the use of space and the little touches like the record player, telescope, homemade Welsh cakes and farm eggs. Really does feel like you're on a private retreat. We also made friends with the lovely farm animals. Without doubt the best Airbnb stay we've had. We'll definitely go back!

  • What can you say? Heavenly! We stayed at Mouse House in February 2020, just after Storm Dennis, and not even the weather could dampen our spirits, such is this gem of a rural retreat in mid-Wales. Had the weather been better, we'd have no doubt set off on long walks in the beautiful countryside that surrounds Mouse House. But, the rain stopped play. Not that we'd complain. Mouse House is a delightful little place, with relaxing views of the ducks swimming across the pond/lake during the day, and a wonderfully warm log burner for cozy nights. We'd suggest packing a book or two, switching off all links to the outside world, and sitting back to let time pass. Although, if you do want to be connected, Mouse House has superfast broadband, Wi-Fi and Netflix on the huge smart TV. Seriously, we loved our stay and the little touches that Rachael and Mike added to make us welcome. I think it's fair to say we'll be back. Please keep that welcome in the hillsides!

    Ian2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Beautifully decorated place with stunning surroundings and all the essentials you could need thanks to the outstanding hospitality. The bed is extremely comfy and the tv and sound speakers were such good quality. Definitely coming back again 👌🏼

    Sophie2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • The Mouse House really is a tranquil little hidden gem and perfect in every way! The location is well away from the beaten track and perfect for some rest and relaxation, the setting is really beautiful and directions were spot on. I arrived the day after the storms and despite this, Rachael and Mike were perfect hosts, keeping me fully informed at every step. Such thoughtful personal touches really made the trip for me, the personal welcome and tour, local produce and home-made Welsh Cakes. The inside is warm and cosy and décor fabulous, lovely log burner, comfy sofa and amazing bathroom and bedroom, and spotlessly clean throughout, definitely a well deserved 5 stars! I can't recommend the Mouse House enough to anyone wanting to escape for some rest and relaxation, a romantic weekend and just enjoy the surrounding countryside. I will definitely be visiting again soon :-)

    Julie2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • The Mouse House was brilliant - tucked away in the Welsh countryside, lovely little house with everything you need. Mike and Rachael were excellent hosts. Storm Ciara hit during our stay resulting in a power cut in the area but Mike and Rachael were extremely generous, making sure we still had everything we needed and our holiday disrupted as little as possible - even cooking a hot dinner for us! Would massively recommend the Mouse House to anyone looking. Thanks again Mike and Rachael!

    Vicky2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • What a fabulous place! Set amongst beautiful countryside in its own garden by a lake with its own decking and bbq area. Spotlessly clean and furnished to a high standard with everything you could possibly need (and more) to hand. Fresh eggs, homemade jam and chutney along with Rachaels homemade welsh cakes were very much appreciated and were all extremely yummy! Lovely friendly hosts who are on hand if needed but not intrusive in any way. A menagerie of animals including a friendly dog, chickens, cockerel and alpacas. We will definitely be returning and will be recommending to our family and friends!

    Wendy2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • You definitely have to check this little hidden gem out! It is in a secluded area but close to the shops if u need to grab food or want to eat out. The hideaway is a perfect getaway for a long weekend and is so peaceful. Rachael and Mike left thoughtful little touches such as the gorgeous welsh cakes and the welcome note on the board as you arrive. The mouse house is a must visit and i will definitely be recommending it in the future. I can imagine it is even more welcoming in the summer when you get to enjoy sitting outside amongst the wilderness. Book it now you wont be disappointed!

  • Fantastic house for a family weekend away, had everything we needed. Would highly recommend to anyone thinking of staying here.

    Neill2019-06-17T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at the cottage! The house was ideal for us with 4 en-suite bedrooms, plenty of space and all the amenities we needed. My 2-year-old niece (and the rest of the family, to be fair!) adored all the animals and Hannah thoughtfully left us some goat muesli to feed them. All in all, a great place for a family break, I’m sure we’ll be back!

    Leah2019-05-10T00:00:00Z
  • We had a really great stay at Quarry Cottage, 4 generations of our family all thoroughly enjoyed it from a 1 year old baby to an 88 year old great grandmother - and the dog! Loved the land, animals and the cottage was ideal in terms of the space, number of beds, bathrooms etc so everyone had their own space and privacy when needed with a nice big open plan area downstairs when we wanted to be together. Very nicely and thoughtfully fenced off and gated outside so it was very safe for the baby and dog. Some of the best things we did during the week were very close by and recommended by local people we met - e.g. Glansevern Gardens, Maenmawr Hall Hotel (for lunch), Montgomery & Dolforwyn castles and Gregynog. It's a lovely location with lots to see and do without going very far at all.

The fresh bread in our room was a lovely surprise and made a lovely comforting breakfast. The room was very spacious with great bathroom and kitchen facilities! Thank you! Would stay again!

  • Zoe and Phil were great hosts, both really friendly and welcoming suggesting local places to eat and even baking us a delicious loaf for when we arrived. The room was clean and had everything we could possibly have needed - the best equipped kitchen in an airbnb I've seen! It was great to be able to spend time outside and enjoy the weather during our stay and Zoe's home is in a great location for this. Thanks very much!

The bed was large and comfortable, WiFi is available if you want it, there are soaps and shower gels ready for you in the bathroom, and the kitchen was stocked with tea, coffee, and breakfast. Very happy, would stay here again

The appartment was clean and comfortable, with lovely treats such as delicious home made bread and port included. Zoe and Phil gave us a very warm welcome. Despite the peaceful rural setting, we had everything we needed such as broadband, local shops etc. We had a lovely time and would definitely stay again.

  • Our stay with Zoe and Phil was lovely, the apartment was more than we hoped for. Clean and had everything that we needed including freshly baked bread upon arrival. Brand new conversion of an old brick barn, Ty Mochyn is a lovingly created self catering holiday accommodation. Luxury, style and comfort in a beautiful, peaceful, rural setting with friendly hosts to welcome you and take care of any needs and interests you have.
Ty Mochyn (Pig House) was completed in 2017, a conversion from an attached old brick pigsty and barn that made up part of the 17th century farmstead to create a self contained self catering holiday cottage. Ty Mochyn is attached to the owners 17th century cottage and is set in the stunning mid Wales countryside in a secluded location with views over the rolling Welsh hills. With gorgeous contemporary retro furnishings Ty Mochyn has been designed with your comfort and ease of use in mind. This two storey/ one bedroom/one bathroom/ open plan living room and kitchen diner has all the mod cons including wi fi and Sky TV, whilst retaining its original charm and character. There is parking at the property, and we are putting finishing touches to the garden to include seating with fire pit and BBQ.
We live a mile and a half outside Newtown with all its amenities, and one mile from the village of Kerry. Access to our place is down a private track, so we are not overlooked by anyone. The mid Wales countryside has much to offer and benefits from miles of scenically gorgeous quiet lanes showing off rolling hills, mountains, lakes and forests as well as castles, pretty villages, steam railways and more.
  • This place will knock your socks off. It’s amazing!! The house is incredible, the views are stunning and the hosts are super friendly with super fast communication. We loved every second of being here and will be back again and again. Great location, quiet enough to escape from everything but everything you need is just a quick drive away. Honestly cannot praise this place enough, we loved it!!! (Also loved the chocolates and other bits and pieces there for our arrival!!)

    Lesley2019-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • Wow! Just, wow! What a place. Ty Mochyn is a stunning escape, tucked away down a long ferny drive, with beautiful views of surrounding countryside, yet just a short drive to the centre of Newtown. The lovely superhosts Andrea and Haydee went out of their way to accommodate me and were an absolute joy to meet and chat to. Communication with them was excellent and very friendly. Petal and Busy, the two friendly resident dogs gave a warm welcome too and provided much entertainment :) I felt at home immediately in Ty Mochyn, which was designed by the amazingly talented Haydee. The property is located a couple of doors down from the hosts stunning 17th century home so they are never far away if you need anything. Equally, it is quietly tucked away enough to also be very private and not at all overlooked. The house is flawless, sparkling clean, comfortable (especially the bed) and so stylish, crammed with personality and gorgeous art made with the lovely Andrea's own fair hands. A balance of cottage charm and contemporary style. Ty Mochyn boasts a lovely powerful shower and a fully equipped kitchen complete with some very funky lighting. The outdoor space is stunning and full of character. Sky TV and Alexa were much appreciated touches as were the fresh flowers and refreshments upon arrival. With views of the countryside from every window it's a beautiful place to wake up to and a welcoming place to head home to after a long day exploring the wonders of Mid-Wales. It really is a special place ran by fantastic hosts. Go and see for yourself, you wont regret it!

    Alex2019-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • Andrea's place was fantastic for our stay. The place was clean, furnished beautifully, easy to find and we had quick communication with Andrea. I would highly recommend for anyone visiting the area.

  • Paul and his wife welcomed us to their beautiful home and made us feel like family. Their dogs are loving, quiet and very well behaved. They all made us feel comfortable and nothing was too much trouble. The house has amazing views across the local countryside. Unfortunately, it rained some days and our hosts made us feel comfortable in their conservatories - which have the best views.

    Mudassir2020-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • Expect a cosy room with all the amenities you could need and a breakfast with an incredible view overlooking the countryside!

    Ro2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Paul's place was absolutely fantastic. The location is stunning, even on a misty morning, amenities were private and spotless clean, plus the continental breakfast was a dream to wake up to, sipping coffee in a modern conservatory overlooking the Shropshire countryside. I actually can't think of a fault in our stay at all! Our only grievance is that we couldn't stay longer and get to know the hosts, and the area, better. For self admittedly new hosts these guys stand head and shoulders above many airbnbs we've stayed in before. Will definitely return when we get the chance. Thank you so much for a wonderful time, El and Finn xxx

  • The Cabin was lovely and cosy. Hele left a surprise for my partner and I as it was our anniversary. The bed was huge, the place was comfortable and warm and had everything we needed. It was better than expected and we’d definitely stay again. Hele was really helpful sending directions prior to us arriving and reassured us she was a phone call away should we need her

  • Had a great stay here for 2 nights, highly recommend.

  • We really had a peaceful stay at Hele. If you like to wake up with and have a beautyful view in the morning while taking waking up, this is the place to be;)

    Erika2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Hele and the family are wonderful hosts. Offering tips on the local area and nothing was too much trouble. The cabin was even better than the pictures and had loads of extra touches that were lovely. I said I might like to do some walks when I was there and there were maps left in the cabin ready for me. Beautiful view, lovely accomondation - wonderful stay. Thank you very much, Hannah

    Hannah2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic stay. The bed was so comfy. One of the best night’s sleep I’ve had in a long time. We could both see the time, effort and thought that had gone in to the log cabin(s). We would definitely consider staying again in the future.

    James2019-11-01T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved our 2 nights at Heles cabins, our only regret was not booking a longer trip! Hele is a very warm & welcoming host (as are the animals) & has put alot of thought into the cabins. We have a super king sized bed at home and we're very happy to discover an even larger bed in our cabin, which was extremely comfortable. Unfortunately we DID have to leave the cabin occasionally to get some of the planned walking in but the comfort of the cabin was quickly forgotten when we saw the views. We have never seen views as beautiful as we did at the farm. From the top of the hill by the mini stone henge or from the cabin window or from the cabin deck, which has seating and even an outside burner to use which Hele kindly gave us the wood to burn. It was a lovely romantic break & we will definitely be returning to Heles cabins again

  • Charlotte even went to the trouble of waiting outside for us to arrive in the cold. Charlotte put the heating on for us as the weather had taken a turn and it was very much appreciated. The kitchen had everything we needed as we ate all of our meals in. The beds were very comfortable and the shower worked efficiently and was piping hot. We enjoyed relaxing in front of the DVD player each evening and when we stay in the area again we would definitely stay with Charlotte.

There were lovely homely touches, in the children’s bedroom there are some fabulous unicorn lights around the bed and and some toys. Thoughtful first aid kit also provided. Charlotte and the kids were really welcoming and friendly, helpful hosts who showed us the accommodation and are there if you need them. Thank you for the fresh eggs too!

  • The cottage was lovely. Just what we needed whilst visiting whales. Dawn was amazing at keeping in touch and answering all of my questions of where to go and see the autumn colours, wow! The cottage was cosy and clean. Thanks again

  • If you’re staying in the local area or looking for a base to explore from then look no further. Thoroughly recommend staying here. Debbie was an excellent host and went above and beyond to make sure my stay was an enjoyable one; even collecting me when I couldn’t arrange a taxi. The house is set within very peaceful gardens, making for a relaxing stay. The single room was tastefully decorated and exceptionally clean with plenty of space.

  • Myself and my partner had a beautiful stay here. The hot tub was amazing and the location was perfect. So peaceful and relaxing, even more so with the sound of the natural stream running next to us. The hut was very clean and had everything that we needed. Our only problem is that we wished we could have stayed longer! Will definitely return one day. Haf was very accommodating and nothing was too much trouble, thank you!

    Emily2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely beautiful location, myself and my boyfriend felt so relaxed after our stay. The cabins are so well looked after Haf should be very proud. I would totally recommend.

    Molly2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • The pods are super cosy and really cute, a perfect getaway for couples. Haf is a great host and the hot tub was already warmed up for us by the time we arrived. Make sure you go prepared as it's a few miles to any shops. The kitchen is really well equipped and the bed is super comfy so it really is like a home away from home. Can't wait to come back here again!

    Janine2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing stay with lovely hosts. Would highly recommend these pods as a break to anyone, we had a great stay!

    Lauren2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Haf’s for three nights and we loved every second. Haf had the place all clean and lovely homey touches. We did go in winter but still made some use of the hot tub. It was the best place to go and get away from everything. Bring plenty of food and you will be fine to bunker away in the cold weather. We will most definitely be back to see how beautiful it is in the summer.

    Chloe2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Great little pod, we went for the optional hot tub which was well worth it. The pod is a nice cosy little space that was great for 2 and our small dog, we only stayed for 1 night. Host was excellent and met us at the entrance for a quick show around and then we were left to enjoy. Thanks.

    Jamie2019-12-14T00:00:00Z
  • Haf’s Rainbow Pods are the perfect getaway. Haf is a brilliant and accommodating host and we had everything we needed/wanted. The pods themselves are lovely, cosy and extremely well built. The hot tub was amazing and even in December weather we had a really chilled night and morning enjoying the view of the welsh countryside. Would totally recommend. Great location 30 mins from lake Vernwy which is a great walking/sightseeing spot. Thanks Haf!

A beautiful two bedroom old Welsh stone cottage, set in the hills with stunning views and sunsets, with one acre of shared gardens situated in the Welsh hills, beautiful sunsets and star filled nights. One bedroom has three single beds in it, the other bedroom has a superking size bed which can be unzipped into two singles to make this room into a twin room. Large kitchen, two bathrooms, cosy living room with log burner, large dining table, large front porch.
A relaxed and peaceful space, it's a perfect place to unwind. Outside there is a large shared garden to enjoy with plenty of quiet places to sit and rest with views across the valley. Also on the land here is a gypsy caravan, wooden cabin and pod, and the Fiber Art Studio where guests can book personal one to one or small group workshops in creative crochet, wet felting, woodland weaving, handspun yarn & drop spindle spinning, amongst other things.
The views are absolutely stunning we get the most beautiful sunsets across the valley, also on clear nights sometimes I feel dizzy looking up at the stars as you can see so many it's quite unbelievable if you've grown up in a city or town like myself. The people of Montgomery are so friendly and very welcoming. There are some wonderful eateries and shops in the little town and the castle ruins are lovely to wonder round. Montgomery has been described as a place where time forgot and I totally understand why. It's the perfect place to get away from it all, whilst there is still plenty of wonderful places nearby to visit.
  • Lovely cosy cottage. Best nights sleep for ages. A bit cold the first night but Luke was great getting the boiler going again and lighting the log burner and making sure we had plenty of wood. We loved our stay even if the weather was at its worst (thanks Storm Dennis!). Thanks for the thoughtful touches too (milk and welsh cakes) - always lovely.

    Philippa2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely cottage, much bigger and nicer than pics show. Situated next door to hosts but felt very private. Very homely and warm even with december weather. The cottage has all you need, with comfy beds. Location is beautiful, we visited powis castle during our stay. Friendly hosts who had great communication prior to our stay. Would highly recommend! We were a party of 4 adults and 1 3 year old. Almost forgot, lovely christmas tree which was a lovely touch, not to mention milk and welsh cake.

  • A charming cottage in a beautiful location hosted by a lovely family. We had a great time exploring the area. I’m afraid our photos of the stars didn’t come out very well, but nothing beats seeing them in the flesh in any case.

  • A charming cottage. Cosy and warm (we stayed in October 2019). My Waze sat nav got us there without a hitch. Would highly recommend it as a base for exploring this part of Wales. Comfortable and peaceful. The Milk, Welsh cakes, tea and coffee there on our arrival was a thoughtful touch.

No 2 Frankwell Terrace situated in the old weaving district of Penyglodffa, is the ideal property in which to spend time enjoying everything Newtown has to offer and with the opening of the Bypass the coast and North Wales are but a few hours drive away. Built in 1895 and belonging to the curator of the nearby Textile Museum it has been sympathetically restored and offers great accommodation on three floors including private enclosed courtyard with seating area. Wifi has recently been added.
  • This is quite a unique property as the decor is historic, attractive and very quirky. The upstairs TV room is a nice touch while retaining the period feel downstairs. It has a modern kitchen with all facilities but still very in keeping with the rest of the house. Nothing here is generic or mass produced. The outside area is private and catches the afternoon sun. Newtown itself is one of the nicest Welsh towns we have stayed in. The town has excellent access to good walking and two Sustrans cycle routes (though neither is flat!). We thoroughly recommend staying here.

  • Great location. Very comfortable.

    Gaylord2019-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • Stephanie’s place is lovely! We had a great stay there and enjoyed the garden in the sun very much. Unfortunately it was a bank holiday weekend so we couldn’t visit the local museums and gallery’s, but we still had a lovely time.

    Alex2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • What a lovely house in a great location. You can see that Stephanie has invested a lot of time and money into this. Lots of lovely shops just a few minute walk away and the comfiest bed I’ve slept in.

  • Thank you so much Stephanie - absolutely fell in love with your lovely home! Clean, stylish and perfect for a short break away while attending a wedding nearby. You have thought of everything and we felt so comfortable for our whole stay. Everything is brand new and so well thought out - luxury touches meant we had the best nights sleep! Thank you so much for hosting us xxx
