  • What a delightful find. This little annexe was just perfect for our weekend away. On a cold blustery day of arrival, the pre lit log burner by Debbie was such a welcome sight. Some nice touches left for us in the fridge too. Very comfortable bed and living space for relaxing during our cosy evenings with a bottle of wine. Debbie is a wonderful friendly host with good communication. We’ll definitely be back.

  • Debbie is a lovely host, very helpful with thoughtful touches. Our dog really enjoyed his visit with some nice walks nearby.

  • Debbie was a wonderful host ~ excellent communication and a really warm welcome for a perfect stay. Lovely location and the lit fire on arrival was greatly appreciated. Very comfortable bed, spotlessly clean and a tasty breakfast for the morning.

    Mandy2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • Debbie’s place is beautifully set out and warm and clean, with useful items such as a microwave and mini fridge, but it’s little touches like the lemon muffins and berry compôte, and the the relaxing, comfortable decor, that made this such a lovely place to be.

    Helen2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Really nice cosy space, very welcoming. Comfortable, warm and lots of nice little touches - excellent tea/coffee facilities, nice range of breakfast cereals and fresh milk and fruit in fridge. Highly recommend!!

    Ellen2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely stay at Debbie’s place. Beautiful location, when we arrived we saw 2 deer running in the field opposite. Great little touches like the chocolate chip shortbread biscuits that Debbie had left on the side for us, tea and coffee supplies and cereals for breakfast. We ordered a takeaway from the local Indian restaurant which we really enjoyed 😊 the walk into Alresford took about 40 minutes and was lovely and the town itself is very cute with lovely little shops and places to eat and drink. We will definitely be back and will recommend to family and friends.

Full of charm and Georgian architecture, Alresford was Selected as the No 1 Best Place to live in the Countryside by The Sunday Times and Voted Country Life's 'Favourite Market Town in the south-east. It's easy to see why. Alresford is a picture postcard, colour washed Georgian market Town situated in the countryside just 7 miles from Winchester. Its specialist shops sell a wonderful range of beautiful gifts, homeware, antiques, wonderful food, and on trend clothes for all ages. Now the home of the Watercress Line steam railway, so called because of its association with watercress farming, in what is now known as the UK's capital of watercress. The town hosts the annual Watercress Festival in May attracting thousands of visitors each year. Alresford is the perfect place for strolling and there is plenty to please the eye - The Fulling Mill and Eel House along the riverside walk, St. John's Parish Church, the Millennium Trail and Old Alresford Pond, created by Bishop de Lucy, Bishop of Winchester, in the 12th century. Close by is Hinton Ampner House & Garden. For foodies there is a great choice of cafes, takeaways, pubs and restaurants including our favourite, the uber cool tapas bar, Pulpo Negro, recently awarded a Michelin Bib Gourmand. And don't forget to visit the Watercress Line steam railway that runs from Alresford to Alton through 10 miles of beautiful Hampshire countryside There are plenty of walks, too, the best of which follows the ridiculously gorgeous River Arle located at the bottom of our garden.

  • A delight, to stay at Ann’s cottage. That is very clean, and neat, with so much character too. Ann’d generously left us groceries, for breakfast, also she’d showed us around, when we checked in. Alresford’s a quick drive, from Winchester, with pretty, pastel houses, two cosy pubs we’d loved eating at. Perfect getaway from London!

    TingXuan2020-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful ancient cottage complete with beams, an inglenook fireplace and immense character. Excellent quality bedding and towels, a generous breakfast provision and a warm and cosy environment, make this a very special place to stay. Ann and her daughter Frances are lovely and welcoming hosts.

    Pat2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • The house was a real fairy tale. My boyfriend and I have celebrated New Years there, and it will be an unforgettable one - we had a great dinner at a restaurant recommended by Ann, had a rest by the fireplace a general quality cozy time. Ann was very nice to provide us the breakfast food and a bunch of local tips. Thank you Ann, and we hope to be back there some day!

    Yulia2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Another great stay at Ann's cottage. As always Ann was very welcoming and friendly. Nice touches like bread, eggs and breakfast cereal, and so on. Even though the weather was cold, the cottage was cosy warm.

    Philip2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Cottage was cosy and warm with an authentic cottage feel. Plenty to do nearby and the village has everything you need. Ann was a great host and parking right outside the cottage which was ideal.

    Suzanne2019-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful and very cosy house in a perfect location. Ann was lovely and we had the most wonderful time! There are some very pretty local walks and it was so nice to be able to come back and relax by the fire. We would love to return!

    Katherine2019-11-22T00:00:00Z
  • Ann’s cottage was lovely, and a brilliant place to get some time out from the city. Everything was on the doorstep, including lots of walks and places to explore - but being inside was always the ideal end for a day outdoors. Really cosy space, log burner and great amenities for cooking and relaxing. Having some lovely pubs on the doorstep also helped. I met Ann a few times and she was lovely - really helpful and welcoming.

    Laura2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • Our second stay in Ann's lovely cottage...she is such a great host, very attentive without being overbearing. The breakfast items she provides are fab...really good quality and a great choice offered too. We love the quaintness of the cottage and it's location is perfect for accessing all the amenities in New Alresford. Beautiful river walk on the doorstep too. We will definitely return!

Light, spacious single bedroom, tastefully decorated. Cupboard with hanging space and shelves. Bedside chest of drawers for storage. An antique comfy chair. Comfortable Single bed
Guests are more than welcome to use the lounge area as well as the kitchen. In the summer we’re more than happy for them to make themselves at home in the garden as well. We really like people to feel welcome, comfortable and at ease. If there is anything that they would like to do or ask, we would welcome requests or enquires and would accommodate it to the best of our ability. We also have a beautiful dog.
Laundry Cottage was built in the early 1600’s and the newer part of the house attached to the cottage used to be outside Laundries that did the surrounding Manor House and cottages, laundry. This part was attached to the cottage in the 1800’s. Winchester is the first Capital of England and a wonderfully historic city boasting a beautiful Cathedral and historical ruins and buildings. We have the most fabulous coffee shops and restaurants in Winchester. There are wonderful scenic walks in and around Winchester as well. There is also a charming small cinema in town. We are a five minute walk from a wonderful Farm Stall that serves great food and coffees, called the Good Life as well a great pub five minutes walk from us called the Cart and Horses. Our guests get a 10% discount when they eat there.
  • I honestly don't know where to start. "A home away from home" would be an understatement. Even before I arrived at the beautiful house (which alone is worth a stay), the communication with Marlene was fantastic and I felt welcome before I even got there. Marlene, Kevin and their entire family are most wonderful and kind and just incredible hosts that will make you feel part of the family but also give you your space if you so desire. The house is utterly gorgeous, cozy and there is so much attention to detail and lots of nice touches. I will visit Winchester again for sure, but mainly for this very deserved Superhost! Some info on getting to Winchester town center: you can walk (about 30 minutes), drive (5-8 minutes) or take the bus (11 minutes). The bus stop is right in front of the house!

    Annika2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Sparkling clean, lovely dog and two amazing hosts. Kevin and Marlene make you feel very welcome in their cosy home.

  • I had a great stay with at Kevin and Marlene's, they went above and beyond to make me feel welcome, comfortable and looked after - such a warm and friendly family. On top of this, great communication, a lovely clean and characterful house, well located. Hope to stay again in the future, thanks again.

One of the best beds EVER, a charming bedroom, wonderful full English breakfast with bacon and eggs, French touch with croissants and jam (& cereals for those who prefer that), in a wonderful big kitchen which is a recent extension to the old house.

  • A wonderful amazing little place, away from all the hustle and bustle. Winchester a short 30 min drive away with easy access to the main roads. Would recommend.

  • .... Warm, welcoming, clean, characterful and beautiful; deep white towels, starched bed linen, under heated oak and stone floors, heavy linen curtains, wall hangings, antiques, chocolate brownies and other thoughtful touches, what more do you need for a luxurious, rural retreat! We used the cottage as a base for events in London and Winchester, both destinations were so easy to get to from the property. The setting is stunning and we’d love to visit again .... when it eventually stops raining! Many thanks 😊

    Elizabeth2019-12-21T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay Garden Cottage. It's so cosy and beautifully decorated, the underfloor heating is such a treat and the bath is spot on. Perfect after a long day of cycling. Thanks so much for a lovely weekend :)

  • Everything you expect from the photos and more! Much bigger, much cleaner, much cosier, much more stylish! Just gorgeous. The stairs to the bedroom ARE steep but that's the only point we would make. So warm and pretty - a proper home from home. One of the nicest places we've stayed at.

This little retreat offering CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST is situated within the walled garden and is adjacent to a charming footpath which leads to the old Church of St Johns where the famous Thomas Lord, founder of the Lords cricket ground, is buried. The barn consists of a large airy room with dual-aspect windows, complete with a charming private en-suite with bath and hand-held shower. A comfy, French-feel with the door leading to a pretty cottage garden for you to relax and make yourself at home.
Idyllic thatched cottage with adjacent guest barn offering comfortable, relaxing, secluded living space, surrounded by a walled cottage garden and pottage for guests to enjoy. A perfect stay for ramblers, cyclists, steam railway enthusiasts or those just wanting to unwind.
This pretty South Downs village offers a small café for breakfast and lunch and a friendly village shop offering fresh local produce and baked goods. We have an award winning butcher and the highly regarded gastro pub The Thomas Lord. We are within walking distance to the beautiful Old Winchester Hill and a well known disused railway track which is a 24 mile round trip, walking/cycle path from West Meon to Wickham, an absolutely fabulous day out, with some lovely watering holes en route!
  • Lovely cosy and in an idealistic area. Beautiful inside and out, a lovely deep bath and even a pretty garden to view. Marvellous food at the nearby pub. Highly recommend.

  • Lovely cosy place in a good area for walks , with a village pub only a couple minutes walk away. The breakfast, tea, coffee etc were very much appreciated and not something everyone would arrange for their guests. Thank you.

  • The room is set in a beautiful village and is perfectly placed to get out and about to enjoy the wonderful countryside. The room is immaculate and clean, the bed comfortable and the little extras such as fresh milk, bread croissants etc make it superb. The bathroom gives a choice of bath or shower, and the whole room is well furnished with everything you need. Bernadette is an amazing host. Very quick to respond, and very helpful with any queries or questions. Makes some great recommendations for dinner etc so if you have never visited before then you will always get good advice and maximise your stay. I really enjoyed my stay here and would certainly recommend to anyone else.

My place is close to art and culture, great views, restaurants and dining. You’ll love my place because of the comfy bed and homely feel. My place is good for solo adventurers and business travellers. I am around to meet and greet you and make you feel welcome. However I will respect your privacy.
My house is modern and newly updated. It is tidy and well kept, relaxing and quiet. The single bedroom has been newly decorated and is clean and bright
Compton is a lovely quiet area with very good transport links in to the historic city of Winchester and Southampton. Surrounded by the most beautiful Hampshire countryside.
  • Lisa is a true superhost. You can expect warm welcome, nice chat and helpful hand from her. The place is cosy and clean. I definitely recommend staying at Lisa's house.

This pretty king sized bedroom is on the first floor of our family home with en-suite shower, toilet and sink. The bed can be split into a twin if this is preferable. There is plenty of space to hang your clothes, a TV and provision to make tea and coffee.  We also have a king and a double sized bedroom listed as 'Great king/ensuite in Four Marks' and 'Kingsized room in Four Marks' if you require any additional rooms for your booking.
Now the last of the children have left our family home, my husband Roland & I thought it would be fun to try Airbnb. Having experienced some great hosts ourselves we will endeavour to ensure we give the same experience to our guests.
Four Marks has a few shops including a Tesco's Express, Co-Op, BP garage/M&S and a few independent shops which include a pharmacy, bakery, butchers and local park. We also have two Indian restaurants’, a fish and chip shop and a Chinese takeaway. Alton is a market town 4 miles away that has shops, banks and rail line direct to London (Waterloo) which is just over a 1 hour away and has links to all other destinations. Petersfield, Basingstoke and Alresford are approx. 15 - 20 mins drive away and both old market towns and they have a lovely selection of restaurants, independent shops and a few chain stores. Petersfield has a direct train line to Portsmouth giving easy access to the Historic Naval Dockyard (this is about 40mins drive from us). We are in beautiful the South Downs National Park, and in easy access of some historic villages such as Chawton, which is a delightful English village with many period houses including Jane Austen's House and the Chawton House Library - which is open to the public. Selbourne also has Gilbert White's museum. If you can jump in the car there many pubs and restaurants in the surrounding towns and villages and we are happy to recommend a few places if required.  The Grange opera is 10 miles away and Hinton Ampner – National Trust house and gardens is only 7 miles away. If you like walking, road biking or mountain biking we have some lovely walks and trails, country lanes etc.
  • We had a lovey stay would recommend

    Hannah2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent choice for anyone looking for excellent service and amazing hospitality. Fiona and Roland were very accommodating, especially when we checked in late. The room was very clean and well designed, with a view of a beautiful garden! 10/10 would stay again!

    Connor2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • I was travelling for work and requested an early check in/late check out, Fiona accommodated this no problem. Fiona and her husband were so welcoming and their house is beautiful. Great location and easy to find, plenty of parking. Room was really spacious and lovely ensuite. I would definitely recommend and stay again, thank you

    Nick2019-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • Fiona and Roland accommodated us very last minute again. They are both exceptional hosts, very warm and welcoming. The room was clean, tidy and ready for us. My partner didn't even make it through one of her favourite programmes - she was sound asleep and didn't stir through the night. A very good sign to show how relaxed we felt. Once again, thank you Fiona and Roland for looking after us. We really enjoyed your company. Xx

    John2019-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • Fiona, Roland and Sigournay - you are absolute legends! Once again our hosts accommodated us at really late notice. Roland and Fiona were on a date night and made arrangments through their daughter Sigournay. A very smooth operation indeed! Communication was prompt. Our hosts are approachable and couldn't do enough to ensure our stay was comfortable. We had a warm welcome from Sigournay who made sure we had everything that we needed for our stay. Parking is on the driveway, plenty of space for our big car and within seconds of the front door. We stayed in a different room to our first stay. Again it was clean. Plentiful items for hot drinks were available (with mugs and teaspoon) as well as glasses and bottled water. The sweet treats were very welcome too. The bedroom looks large in the photos - it is even larger in reality. Plenty of storage for all our suitcases and rucksacks. Lots of surface space at a good height for putting our gadgets on. Great TV reception which was a good distraction for my partner who was able to relax to her favourite programmes after a long day at work. Plenty of sockets, conveniently located to charge up our mobiles. Broadband is excellent and consistent. All the required information for connectivity is at hand and clearly stated in the listing too when one has booked. Local tips and taxi firms are also provided. The bedroom faces the beautiful garden - very quiet and calm. The bed is very comfortable with a medium firmness to the mattress. Another good night's sleep was had by both of us. We couldn't get up for work - or in my case - I didn't want to get up for work. The ensuite shower room with WC is very clean. The Mira electric shower is powerful. Shampoos, body washes, ear buds, 'lady items' etc were also provided - everything and more for those little emergencies! We met the other guest but didn't hear him or when Roland and Fiona returned - no disturbances during the night. Another relaxing stay! Thank you Fiona, Roland and Sigournay for making our stay comfortable again. You are fab hosts. Extra tip for other guests: we had an enjoyable and hearty meal at the Saffron Indian restaurant which is minutes away by car - reasonably priced and excellent service.

Light, spacious bedroom, tastefully decorated. Cupboard with hanging space and shelves. Bedside cupboard for storage. An antique comfy chair. Comfortable double bed. Opposite the bathroom, but private as it’s set towards the back of the house.
  • Beautiful old thatched cottage - and a comfortable stay!

  • Marlene and Kevin's place is what every airBnB experience should aspire to be. They were the perfect hosts- genuine, warm hearted people with a great enthusiasm and knowledge of the area. Rarely have I felt so warmly welcomed. Marlene was very quick to communicate during and in the leadup to our stay, arranging to meet up in town and being flexible about checkin/out. Their home is a gorgeous period cottage filled with nice touches like fresh flowers and a chocolate on the pillow - thank you Marlene! If you are lucky enough to try Kevins amazing breakfast with tomoto gravey you won't be disappointed. Kamber the dog added an adorable friendly (and hairy!) element to our stay, helping us to feel right at home. Thank you all for making us feel like part of the family. We hope to come back one day! Much love, Cat and Matt xxx

    Nicholas2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • You will enjoy staying in a charming, historic cottage, very comfortable bedroom and bedding, quirky decor with lots of interesting pictures and artefacts, and all very clean. In spite of being near major roads it is quiet, peaceful and well equipped with a very good internet connection. Kevin and Marlene have lived there many years and are very helpful and knowledgable about the area.

    Frances2020-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • Kevin and Marlene are warm and friendly hosts that offer flexibility to guests. Nothing is too much trouble. The cottage itself has a lot of charm and the bedroom and bathroom are very spacious. It is one of the best Air bnb places to stay around Winchester in terms of accommodation and value for money.

Our house is a pretty Victorian terrace, situated in Hyde. It is well located for visiting the town centre and many of the beautiful landmarks of Winchester. The city centre is within easy walking distance, 10 - 15 minutes, with the train station a 5 minute walk. A great stop for cyclists and walkers, there is no garage but bike's may be left inside the house overnight. There are several pubs within a stone's throw and a large number of restaurants and coffee bars all within walking distance.
Bedroom 2 is a comfortable single room beautifully decorated, overlooking the pretty courtyard garden and St.Bartholomew's church. Bedroom 2 is only available on the same booking as bedroom 1 (i.e for one family or group).
The area of Hyde is historically rich and has become a place name synonymous with King Alfred the Great, whose bones were moved to Hyde Abbey in 1110. Winnall Moors Nature Reserve is very close by and on walking through it seems difficult to believe you are right next to the centre of town!

  • I had a lovely stay with my hosts, Henny and her mother, and couldn't have been made more welcome. The accommodation was clean and warm, and provided everything I needed, and the bed was very comfortable, so I slept very well too. It is about 5 minutes walk to the centre of Winchester, and not much further to the station so very well located. I look forward to staying there again when I'm in Winchester. I would thoroughly recommend it to others.

I was visiting for a funeral but I will definitely be back for a happier visit to the Christmas Market and Cathedral etc. Thank you so much Henny and Carol! :))

My husband and I live in the house with our two young children. Our home backs onto the Watercress Steam Railway Line - train enthusiasts will love hearing the train pass and seeing the steam... Four Marks & Medstead Watercress station is just a 10mins walk from our home where you can see steam trains passing. Jane Austen’s home in Chawton is 5mins drive away. We are located on the edge of the South Downs 30/40mins from larger towns (Farnham, Basingstoke, Southampton and Winchester).
Our house is situated in rural Medstead village, on the edge of Four Marks village with easy access to the A31 Winchester Road. We are 5mins from Chawton village (the home of Jane Austen) & 10mins from Alton Market Town and station. We live in a newly built house, with open, quiet space to the front of our house and a large garden to the rear which is not overlooked. The room is a spacious double bedroom with a king bed plus an en-suite, looking out to the rear of the property towards the steam train line. Included in the room is a small convenience fridge, kettle with complimentary tea and coffee plus a hairdryer and a safe. WiFi is available for guests also. We also provide a basic ‘help yourself’ style breakfast which includes a selection of cereals and bread for toasting. We have local convenience shops within a 5minute walk plus a range of takeaway options for dinner. Guests are welcome to use or kitchen to eat dinner if they use the takeaway options. There are other dining options a short drive away.
We love living in this area, based in a rural location with a few small shops offering essentials close by. We are lucky to have a range of places to eat in the evening close by including a Curry, Chinese, Fish and Chips and Kebabs. There are also a range of restaurants and pubs within 10/20mins drive which are often recommended. There are a number of independent cafes within a short walk or a longer hike (depending on your preference) which are excellent. Some of these include Loaf, Garthowen Garden Centre Treetops Cafe & Nosh. An adjacent village, Chawton, was the home of the Author - Jane Austen. You can visit her home and garden. Chawton house is also open for visits. Central to the village is an old English pub and a tea room to offer a variety of refreshments. Selborne is a 20minute drive away, the old, quaint village of Gilbert White. Other local attractions include: Alice Holt (biking, running, walking trails including the Gruffalo and Zog trails) Birdworld Marwell zoo Winchester Science museum Lavender Fields Hattingley valley wines Lasham gliding Triple F Brewery with a bar (in walking distance 5mins) The area is a great stop off spot for commuters and we also have local businesses operating in the area, such as Blindingly Simple which offers courses for home furnishing (10 min walk).
  • Being a recent new build, the single room with en-suite facilities is just what one could want from a relaxing stay. The family are lovely and welcoming too, and door service from one of the youngsters was a lovely touch. The views from the room are superb and it was great to hear a Tawny Owl at night.

  • Having never stayed in someone's home before as we generally book a suite or annex we were uncertain but Lara and her family were welcoming and lovely. The room is spotless and comfy, a continental breakfast was laid out for us to choose from. We would love to stay there again if we are that way. Definitely reccomend these hosts and there home.

Perfectly situated in the Itchen Valley between the Georgian market town of Alresford and the Cathedral City of Winchester providing easy access to great shopping and historic venues with the benefit of being in a picturesque village. This lovely eighteenth century cottage has stunning walks right from the front door and a local riverside pub, the Bush Inn just a stone's throw away. We hope you will love our cottage which is an ideal base for families and anyone else keen to explore Hampshire.
You have a parking space and your own door into where you stay what is self contained attached to the main house what I share with my husband Kevin, two children and two friendly black Labrador dogs. There is a sitting room your own double bedroom and a single bedroom. Tea, coffee and a packet of biscuits in the main bedroom.
We live in a very nice place with in the South Down Natural Park. Less than a 5 minute drive away (or a short cycle ride) you will find the beautiful small town of Alresford with its array of pubs, independent shops, coffee shops, small supermarkets and more. Alresford was selected as the No 1 best place to live in the countryside by the Sunday Times and voted Country Life's 'favourite market town in the south-east. Alternatively the historic city of Winchester is a 10-15 minute drive away. Please ask if you would like any recommendations - local area info is provided in your room.
  • This place is perfect for those wanting a quiet, rural space but with the bonus of a thriving little town, only a couple of miles away. It was comfy, warm and well-appointed, perfect as a walking or cycling base too. The hosts are really friendly, as are the staff in the pub just down the road which has a fab menu. Don't forget your torch if you're walking back in the dark though!

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our one-night stay... our hosts did everything possible to ensure we were happy and comfortable, and the place itself was perfect for our needs. They even toddler-proofed the whole house after I told them we were coming with our son! And they left loads of toys for him to play with. They really went the extra mile and we are so grateful for everything. All this, plus the village and surrounding area is so beautiful... we will definitely be back!

    Julian2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • We felt very welcome, and was kindly baked a cake to enjoy on our arrival. The space was very homely, with cute vintage decor. The bath was huge and amazing, and the bed was extremely comfortable. Thank you for the stay, we would recommend this for people looking to get away.

  • I could not have been happier with my stay here. Tom was the most accommodating Airbnb host I have ever had. I got sick right before arriving and didn’t want to share a bed with my friend I was tracking with for fear of giving it to her. So Tom made up a beautiful second bed for us that was just as cute at the official real bed already there. This was so helpful. Really saved our trip. The room was stunning, location is perfect, and check in was smooth. Would give 6 stars if I could.

Tom was a wonderful host - flexible with the check-in and made it extremely easy to get in ourselves and let us know the best spots to get dinner. Everything about this place made our trip perfect - hope we make it back & can stay here again! :)

I absolutely recommend people to take advantage of this beautiful place. Luis

Beautiful barn space in the heart of the Hampshire countryside situated on the edge of a village. On the first floor there is a UK Superking bed which can be split into twin beds at £10 extra cost, a table for two people and shower room. Breakfast items such as fruit, yoghurt, bread for toast, jams, honey, marmite are provided along with tea and 'real' coffee. ** Although there is a small kitchenette, there are no cooking facilities for hot food preparation **
The barn at Lyfield house sits in its own space in the driveway of the main house and boasts the best views of the whole property. There is a king size double bed made with crisp white cotton sheets and an en suite shower room with fluffy bath towels. Being completely separate from the main house means you can relax in total privacy. There is a tiny kitchen where you will also find breakfast staples such as tea, coffee, sugar, honey, marmite, and cereal and on your arrival the fridge will be stocked with butter, milk, jam, juice and pastries so you can enjoy your breakfast in your own time and at your own pace. The kitchen is equipped a small fridge, a kettle and a toaster. The hob is not for use by guests so hot food cannot be prepared. There is a hair dryer, unlimited wifi and a television, a washer/dryer, iron and ironing board are available on request. There is a gym downstairs which can be used by arrangement and at your own risk - I'd always go through machine instructions before use. The tennis court outside can also be used by arrangement.
Medstead is a thriving and large village with a pub and a village shop hosting a post office. Nearby are the larger towns of Alton and Alresford which boast a beautiful Georgian high street and niche shops. We are close to Lasham Gliding and the Jane Austin sites and are only 25 minutes from Winchester.
  • Gorgeous barn in a lovely location, very clean, lovely host thanks for a great stay Juliet. Great for a walk around the area too.

    Danielle2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely place to stay: clean, new and fresh. Juliet left us breakfast things which was very thoughtful and much appreciated. There are no cooking facilities, but there is a kettle and there are lovely places to eat nearby. The Globe in Alresford had great food.

    Luci2019-12-09T00:00:00Z
  • The barn is stunning, situated in beautiful countryside surroundings. The bed was one of the comfiest I’ve ever stayed in! It was easy to get to and Juliet was very informative and helpful. I only went for one night but in future I will stay longer!

  • My Husband and I had a super mini break in this wonderful barn. A compact but beautiful place to stay. Immaculately clean throughout. Bed was very comfy. We had everything we needed. Breakfast supplies were plentiful muesli, cereal, bread, fruit, yogurts, fruit juice etc. Shower was wonderful with two different size shower heads. Radiator/heaters were very effective on a cold winters night. Views from the barn were amazing looking over the countryside. Juliet was extremely helpful and prompt with her replies before our stay. We cannot recommend this place highly enough if you are looking for a mini break and some piece and quiet away from it all. Thank you Juliet it was absolutely perfect in every way.

We stayed for a wedding in the local area so really just needed a bed for the night but we wished we'd stayed another night! Everything was thought of and nothing too much for Juliet. A home away from home. We hope to return very soon. It was also very good value too. Thank you!

  • This lovely little place feel like you’re totally secluded and you’ve got your own space, yet you’re only a stones throw from a lovely little high street with loads of great amenities, little coffee shops and nice local shops. The hosts were brilliant; great communication throughout and popped around to say hi without being at all imposing. Beautifully furnished without feeling overly fancy, comfy beds, lovely shower and plenty of parking. Little tricky to find despite the very detailed instructions but we did arrive very late and it was very dark! Would highly recommend, a lovely weekend away.

Warren Farm is 2 miles from Alton, which is famous for the Watercress Line steam railway and the home of Jane Austen. We are also on the edge of the South Downs National Park and within easy reach of Winchester and the Historic Dockyards and ferry terminals in Portsmouth. The Stables has it's own entrance from the beautiful garden room which adjoins our barn. There are country views and footpaths if you are feeling energetic! We look forward to welcoming you.
There are seating areas in the garden and the garden room which guests are free to use but these are shared with us and occasionally our grandchildren too. With only one close neighbour we are situated in the beautiful north Hampshire countryside. It is a quiet rural area but guests should be aware that, although well screened from the road, traffic can sometimes be heard but is not continuous. We have a no smoking policy both inside the Stables and in all outside areas.
Within easy reach there are good country pubs that offer excellent food and drinks. Closest is The Sun at Bentworth while the Yew Tree at Wield and the Royal Oak at Lasham are a little further. Lasham is home to one of the largest gliding centres and is only 5 minutes drive.

  • If you want a quiet, well presented immaculately clean place to stay then this is for you. Kim is super friendly and very thoughtful; arrived to find cereals, bread, milk and bottled water amongst other things. Everything truly was sparkling and Kim has the softest towels. Highly recommended!!

  • Great property with plenty of space for two. The annexe is tastefully kitted out and a very comfortable stay. Kim was a lovely host, giving space but available if needed. Highly recommend

  • I stayed here while working in the area. It was a lovely haven to come back to after a long day. All the comforts of home away from home.

  • The Old Forge was perfect! It was spotless and seemed like new and Kim has thought of everything. We’ve stayed in many a smart hotel (for work) and this is comparable to a small suite with a kitchenette. There was milk, bread, cereal, tea, coffee etc, dressing gowns and toiletries too. We had a delicious brunch at Nosh cafe, a good Thai meal in nearby Alton and a good walk at the Devil’s punch bowl, about 30mins drive away. A thoroughly enjoyable stay.

    Priscilla2019-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • Sparkling clean and super comfortable, just what we needed after a long and tiring day of work. Kim is a wonderful host and was there to help us whenever we needed.

The annexe is a newly refurbished cosy oasis hidden in the heart of central Winchester. It’s a completely private en-suite bedroom in a quiet leafy cul-de-sac. The theatre and many of Winchester’s best restaurants are right on your doorstep. The train station and High Street are a 5 minute walk away. 5 minutes in the other direction and you can be in Winnall Moors nature reserve.
The annexe is compact yet perfectly equipped to provide the comfort and amenities you need to enjoy your short break. A comfortable double bed with crisp clean linen and towels are provided. The space alongside the bed is clean and open with a fold out table and chairs, perfect for dining or use as a desk. The annexe benefits from an en-suite shower room with heated towel rail. Alongside the en-suite is a built in cupboard with hanging, storage space and a small fridge. On arrival you will find milk, tea & coffee and some complimentary breakfast items.
The annexe is right in the centre of Winchester, but it doesn't feel or sound like a city centre location. Marston Gate is a quiet leafy cul-de-sac situated right alongside the earth bank of the ancient city wall which provides privacy and seclusion despite being just over the road from the Theater and some of the cities best bars and restaurants. The train station and High Street are a 5 minute walk away. 5 minutes walk in the other direction past the River Park leisure centre and you can be in Winnall Moors nature reserve a beautiful spot for a walk along the river bank and over boardwalks laid in amongst the reeds.
  • The Annexe is in a fantastic location for Winchester city centre. Clean and tidy. The hosts are thoughtful and provide a sheet of recommended local restaurants which is really nice to see. Perfect for a couple's break. We would definitely come back.

  • Clean, comfortable, quiet, cosy warm in winter. The space is small (as described), a well-sized bedroom with a small bathroom. Marie has added a few clever details: a small fridge and tea-making facilities with light snacks suitable for an easy breakfast. This is perfect for a short stay in Winchester - a restful space close to public transport. Would definitely stay again!

  • The Annexe is a brilliant spot located a stones throw from Winchester train station. The room is very Bright and has everything you could need it’s amazing what Maire has managed to do with the space. The room was so cosy and warm when we arrived after a long day travelling due to delayed flights and over crowded trains. Lovely touches such as gin and tonic in the fridge and an addition heater on in the room on a cold March day to greet us. Maire was my pleasant, professional and efficient to deal with as a host threw the air b&b service. I would highly recommend Maire as a host and her air b&b

  • Perfect over night stay, close to the centre of the city and the train station.

    Andrew2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • It’s a lovely little annex in a really nice quiet location. Little bits for breakfast provided including tea and coffee which was a nice added touch.

  • Great room at top of house plenty of space, room had bed, table & chairs and a sofa. Large en-suite bathroom. David met us on arrival and was charming. Location very convenient for the city. We throughly recommend this accommodation and will definitely stay again if we are in Winchester

  • Abi and David’s place is set in a great location in Winchester. The room is spacious and the bed comfortable. The shower was lovely too.

    Sarah2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment was exactly as described and expected. It’s very comfortable, on the second floor, and is very conveniently located for the city centre. David very kindly allowed us to check in a few hours ahead of the arrival time that we’d originally given him. David gave us assistance finding the local restaurants and attractions and was helpful. The bathroom was spacious and clean, and there is a kettle and mugs/bowls available. David also offered us space in his fridge to store food. Everything went very smoothly with our stay.

    Dan2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Nice space, very close to the centre and friendly and welcoming host.

    Daniel2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • We were not sure what to expect as this was our first Airbnb experience. David & Abi helped make a three day birthday trip to Winchester very special. Visitors can expect modern, clean, up-to-date facilities in the room with en-suite, access to a fridge, a host that responds to enquiries immediately, lots of local information, close to the city centre, parking included and a good price. Lots to do and see in Winchester and a plethora of restaurants, the hardest thing about the trip was choosing where to eat. Perfect, will book again!

New for 2020. The Horse Hut is nestled in the corner of ‘horse feild’ where the farms shire horses once roamed. Look out over Hattingley valley across to the vineyards and enjoy the beautiful countryside. Take a bath on the veranda or watch the sun set from inside next to the log burner. The horse hut was originally on a lorry and was used at polo and shire horse shows now converted to luxury accommodation maintaining its horsey heritage.
  • We were met on arrival by Ralph who showed us round, The Horse hut is amazing, everything you need is there, it was really quiet and peaceful you can hear the birds singing and see the stars at night. The outside bath is a lovely touch still managed to use it in March. Four Marks is near by for essentials Grocers, butchers, bakers and tesco. The Yew Tree is a lovely old pub not far away had a couple of excellent meals there, plus wine tour and tasting at Hattingley just up the road from the pub. Lots of towns to visit all just a short drive away. We visited Winchester and walked to the viaduct, Marwell Zoo, Aldershot for banger racing and enjoyed the sunsets from the bath. Would love to return some time, can't recommend highly enough.

My house is very close to the city centre, a short enjoyable walk away from St. Catherines hill and the famous Black Boy pub or the Michelin starred Black Rat Restaurant. Only a 5 min riverside walk in to town and located near one of the South Downs Way starting points so perfect for any long distance walkers heading out or completing their journey.
The room itself is a large double (recently refurbished) with an ensuite bathroom and comes with all the usual such as WIFI, TV and Kettle etc, recently I have added a fridge/cooler to the room so there will be space for you to store items that need chilling. In addition to this you will have access to the lounge area if you choose. There will be a permit for on street parking.
It is a very friendly area, an example being that every year the road that my house is on is closed for a street party.
  • Second time staying at this place and great as before.

  • Fab place to stay! Private bedroom and spacious bathroom. Clean, warm, lots of lovely touches like complimentary milk, water, sweets and chocolates! Beautifully decorated too with interesting funky vintage items. Lots of on street parking nearby and Ian provides a parking permit saving £12 a day parking charges. An easy 5 min walk into the centre where there are numerous eateries, shops, historical building, museums and walks. We hope to return!
