Places to stay in Martley

Places to stay in Martley
Charming, cosy, quintessentially English, family run self-catering accommodation for up to 5 people set in Sir Edward Elgar’s birth village, close to the picturesque riverside City of Worcester. You can be assured of peace and quiet (apart from the dawn chorus/passing horses!), but with the convenience a shop and two lovely pubs within walking distance. Just 3 miles from Worcester with easy transport links nationwide. We are proud to have over 4 years experience and now 350 positive reviews.
We believe The Coach House dates back to the Tudor period, to around 1500 and was the original Coach House to what was Peachley Farm which is now our home, 'Peachley House', a Grade II listed building dating back over 400 years. The Coach House is a fabulous, historical, tranquil space full of timbers and atmosphere but we've ensured that areas such as the kitchen and bathroom have a modern, clean feel. Behind your own front door, the space is on two levels with a modern dining kitchen and bathroom on the ground level. The beautiful, spacious, vaulted timbered first floor loft is a large open plan area containing a comfy double bed and a large king size sofa bed, Smart flat screen TV with freeview channels. There is also a sofa bed in the kitchen so you can comfortably sit in the downstairs area. This can be used as an extra bed if required for a 5th guest (see additional charge for 5th guest) Please mention at booking. Your stay includes heating in colder months, constant hot water, fresh towels and white cotton bedding, a flat screen TV with freeview channels, Netflix etc, DVD player, iPhone/docking station for music, DAB radio, free Wi-Fi and kitchen basics such as tea and coffee. Upstairs, the bed is a comfy double and the second is a king sized sofa bed, there is also a wardrobe and chest of drawers for storage. For Our Younger Guests - I can provide a travel cot and high chair for younger guests - please message me before arrival. There is a permanent wooden stair gate at the top of the stairs which will allow your little ones to roam around upstairs without fear of them taking a fall. I am also happy to arrange a selection of toys to keep young children occupied, just mention it at booking.
The Coach House is located in the small, pretty, rural village of Lower Broadheath, famous for being the birthplace of Sir Edward Elgar, the English composer. Our village houses 'The Firs' his birthplace museum, recently taken over by The National Trust and sits within the 'Elgar route'. Our village boasts two pubs: a nice, family run country garden pub, great for kids! - The Bell Inn (10 minutes walk). A further 5 minute walk away gives you The Dewdrop Inn, more of a restaurant, offering bistro style dining. Both get extremely busy and last minute availability on Fridays and Saturdays is very limited, so please let me book ahead for you - just mention it via airbnb messaging. Both don't serve food after 8pm on a Sunday. If you don't mind a short drive, The Crown Inn in Hallow, 5 mins drive away, is fabulous. We have also recently opened a village Community Shop (Feb 2019) funded by the villagers and run by volunteers - for all your essentials and a cup of tea for a modest donation! There is a Tesco Express with cash point less than 2 miles away at Henwick Park, as well as a fish and chip shop, hair salon and launderette. There is an abundance of walks and bike trails locally to include The Severn Way and Worcestershire Way and walks beside the Severn and the Teme. Malvern and its Hills are a 20 minute drive away. There are also lots of local fishing pools locally, the closest being at The Cobhouse, 1.5 miles away. Currandine Barn wedding venue is very close to us (4.5 Miles). Over the years, we have provided accommodation to many guests attending weddings there. Being in the centre of England, we feel that we are exceptionally well positioned for the M5, M6, M40 and M42 motorways and for further travel across the UK: Malvern and the Three Counties Showground 13 miles Stratford Upon Avon 24 miles Cotswolds Villages 30 miles Warwick 30 miles Ludlow 21 miles Birmingham (centre) 32 miles Bicester Outlet Village 53 miles Oxford 54 miles Bristol 55 miles London (centre) 100 miles South Wales Coast 80 miles Edinburgh 260 miles I have put together a box of leaflets about things to do and see locally which will be available in the Coach House to help you make the most of your stay. We will also be happy to suggest places to visit when you arrive. The tourist information offices located in both Worcester and Malvern are also excellent for information and ideas.
  • Thankyou for making my friends and I feel welcome. We loved our stay. Very comfy bed and sofa beds. Lovely and clean house! Will definitely stay again!

  • Great location for the Worcester area. Rachel was a fantastic host and took time out her way to greet us on arrival. Place was spotlessly clean and could not recommend enough.

    Paula2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed here for one night but we all wanted to stay longer! The coach house was so so lovely, such a great space and so many nice touches such as tea, coffee, shampoo etc etc etc! We walked to the Dew Drop Inn (around 15 mins) for dinner (which Rachel very Kindly booked for us). That was lovely too! We also stopped at the Malvern Hills on the way which was lovely and I would love to spend more time there. At the coach house they also offer massages/facials from a local therapist etc if booked in advance! Such a nice break away from the hustle and bustle. Thanks so much!

    Jodie2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Rachel ensured that both a cot and high chair were setup in time for our arrival (we have a 14 month old). She also put toys out for him, which he loved! The whole house was nice and warm, perfect for our little one. It was also spotlessly clean so we had no problem with him crawling around on the floor up/downstairs. The stair gate was also a massive plus! Overall a great stay for families with babies/toddlers.

    Molly2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Great, cosy coach house! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

    Laura2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect host and lovely, private house which was cosy but still had plenty of space for 5 adults. Outstanding value, especially since it is so close to the Malvern Hills.

    Daniel Michael2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Really lovely, clean, spacious and cosy stay and just 10 minutes from Worcester.

Start the day with a coffee in the courtyard at The Bothy a characterful hideaway with preserved period features, from exposed bricks to arched windows and doors. Light the wood-burning stove and snuggle up after a refreshing country walk.
Modern and bright, with it's best old features kept and made more useable for now, The Bothy is a completely private room with kitchenette and Woodburning Stove, entirely separate from the Coach House (our home) with private en suite shower room. Through a door in the wall of the Victorian walled garden of our home is The Bothy, originally home to the workers that tended the gardens for the manor house, The Noak, and the horses in The Coach House. The Bothy sits in the gardens of the Coach House, a perfect haven for two. Modern and bright, with it's best old features kept and made more useable for now, The Bothy is a completely private room entirely separate from the Coach House (our home) with en suite shower room. Your stay includes your own heated private Bothy; Wood for the wood burner; in-room mini-fridge, kettle & toaster; Fresh (and super soft) towels and bedding; Flat-screen LCD TV with Freeview and DVD player (ask if you want something to watch we have looads!); FREE Wi-Fi; FREE Breakfast cereals, bread, butter, milk, jams, sugar, tea, coffee; Bose Bluetooth Speaker; Mini hob; slow cooker and cookbooks; There's a lovely patio outside your front door with bistro table and chairs. The bed I've been told by many a friend that it's super comfy; Lovely warm duvet, choice of pillows and extra blankets. Free parking on the private drive. Behind The Bothy, through a slightly overgrown part of the garden that we haven't quite started to tend yet, is a working farm. If you're here at harvest time you may hear some noise from the harvesters but it's always short lived and adds to the country feel. Of course if you're here during lambing season, you will hear the newborn lambs saying hello to the world, take a look at some of the photos as our family said hello this spring! An incredible time of year to visit! During the end of summer the garden is full of apple, plum, pear, damson and figs which you're welcome to pick. And of course the flowers are in full bloom and the garden looks lovely. It's not perfect, definitely a work in progress, but lovely nontheless. Autumn and winter leave the garden looking slightly more sparse as you'd expect but with that the walks from here that time of year are stunning with the sun low in the sky and the colours the ever changing landscape offers. Beyond the farm, and at the end of the garden are sweeping fields with public footpaths that take you to stunning views. Just ask for guidance and we have maps ready. There's great walks and easy access to the well know Worcestershire Way Walk (33miles in total,) but not compulsory! You can do bits of it according to how much you're in the mood for! If you're traveling light and want to keep it that way we have a selection of wellies you can choose from if the weather requires it. Plus toiletries in your en suite and if you use the washer we have washing liquids and softeners for you to use. If you're unsure please just ask! Or if you forget a toothbrush or anything let me know I may have a spare (in packet don't worry!) You have your own self contained room with en suite bathroom and wood burning stove so you'll have your own cosy space to cuddle up in! We won't enter your space at all during your stay. Although you won't have absolute access to our home, you'd be welcome to use the washer/dryer-see extra details. We have tried to ensure you have everything you need to make your holiday easy and enjoyable from the start-The bothy has a fridge and kettle and toaster, plus mini hob and a slow cooker. Cereals, tea, coffee, milk, sugar, bread, butter and Jams are provided. We will be here to welcome you and The Bothy is in the garden of our home so you will probably see us coming and going. We will ultimately leave you to enjoy your break but will be easily accessible should you need us! If you're staying for a week or more we will arrange to change the linen and towels and to do a surface clean at a time that is convenient for you. We are on the edge of a small village, very much in the countryside. The village has a shop and post office within walking distance (less than 10 mins there, slightly more back as it's uphill that way!) The closest pub is a good walk away but drivable in about 4 mins. There are several pubs within a couple of miles which are more appropriate for a drive or a bike ride. Closest supermarket is on the edge of Worcester roughly 7 miles. There's golf within 8 miles, walks from a few miles up to the famous Worcestershire Way of 33 miles in total. Fishing within 5 miles. There's a lovely walk to the River Teme in around 20-25 minutes. The Malvern Hills are around 20 minutes drive and some of the most famous villages in The Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty are within an hour or so drive. I have lots of extra info for you when you arrive if you want it, I'm happy to help you find the activity you're looking for ! You can get here by bus from Worcester if you're traveling in on the train as there is a bus service into and from Worcester. We are about 45 minutes to 1 hour drive from Birmingham airport. Around 1hr 45 minutes drive from Bristol Airport. If you need a lift please always ask, we'd be happy to help where possible. We are a family with kids, ages 6, 8, 15 and 17 we have a dog and a cat. The dog is small an uber friendly, the cat is scared of the dog so if the dog is there the cat won't be! We're not rowdy but you're bound to hear us coming and going and chatting and potentially some playing and giggling, so long as you don't mind being on the edge of a friendly, family environment we'd love to welcome you! If you'd like to use the washer and dryer in the utility room of our house you're welcome, just let me know as soon as you can-you can imagine it's a well used area in our family! Pets are welcome but please chat with me before booking. Your own private Bothy and you're welcome to wander around our gardens and grounds. If you need a washer/dryer please ask, it's defintely possible to use. £3 a load, wash and dry to cover costs and liquids etc. We will ultimately leave you to enjoy your break but will be easily accessible should you need us! If you're staying for a week or more we will
The estate is on the edge of a small village in the countryside, with a pub close by & a shop & post office within walking distance. The Malvern Hills are around 20 minutes' drive away and The Cotswold s Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is about 50mins drive away:

  • The effort and detail was amazing. I liked the size of the shower cubicle - lots of elbow room, the cleanliness of the toilet, the bread and milk that was provided as well as the toiletries/ sanitary supplies, the Bose wireless speaker sounded great, good quality crockery. All of this made for a great stay. I would stay again and recommend it.

Situated in the heart of rural Worcestershire, it's the perfect location for guests looking for a quiet retreat. The Lodge offers fabulous views of the Malvern Hills that are quite something to behold. Adjacent to the owners home and located in ten acres of grounds. Various rural pubs are nearby with Worcester city centre being just a short drive away with attractions such as the racecourse and cathedral.
  • What a lovely location, views of the hills and the only thing you can see is fields and the horses. A lovely place to relax and wind down. I am a key worker, every day asking me how I am, banging the sauce pan on a Thursday made me feel recharged. I would recommend to anyone wishing to enjoy the local countryside whilst still being within reach of the local towns.

    Matthew2020-04-30T00:00:00Z

  • Fantastic! Firstly, communication with Jackie is second to none - she was able to accommodate myself and my girlfriend for two nights at short notice and responded to us really quickly. Additionally, the space was ideal to sit back and relax whilst taking in the views surrounding. It is as described and more, meaning a peaceful weekend is guaranteed to be enjoyed. We look forward to staying again!

In the very heart of Worcestershire countryside, a beautifully renovated single storey piggery. Travel just four miles to the centre of our historic city and find yourself on the banks of the River Severn with Worcester Cathedral dominating the skyline. We are very proud of our City and countryside and will endeavour to make your stay as comfortable as possible.
The Annexe is a beautifully bright and spacious, the vaulted timbered ceiling enables light to fill the room throughout the day. Conversely, shut the blinds and curtains and create a warm cosy space to retreat into until the morning. Amenities include a spacious wet room, comfortable kingsize bed, a flat screen television with freeview channels, WiFi, table & chairs, tea & coffee making facilities, towels and plenty of hanging space for your clothes. The Annexe is part of the overall central heating system and we try to maintain a comfortably ambient temperature all the time. If you would like more heat in the Winter there is a very efficient electric oil heater at your disposal. If you are too warm it is very easy to turn the radiator down or off. If you are in the room for more than two nights we are happy to arrange a light clean & change of towels at a convenient time to you.
We are in Kenswick which is a tiny hamlet of the village of Lower Broadheath. The walks and bridle paths are in great supply around here, you may find you way onto a country footpath from the back of our property, this will take you around to the Cob House Country Park (great breakfast) and various other lovely locations. There is much to explore. Lower Broadheath has two lovely pubs, The Bell which has great pub food and a great pub garden or The Dewdrop which is slightly finer dining, I would suggest booking the Dewdrop and would recommend both establishments. Across in Hallow (a couple of miles) is The Crown which is certainly a favourite of ours and the other way in Martley is the Masons Arms which again I would certainly recommend. Finally we have the most amazing authentic Thai restaurant a couple of miles up the road in Wichenford called Chim Doo, you may dine there or order in a great take away. There is a village community shop in Lower Broadheath or a few miles down the road there is a Tesco Express. Next to the Tesco is a fish & chip shop and a launderette. Finally, it would be remiss of me not to mention The Firs (National Trust) this is the Birth Place of the composer Sir Edward Elgar, his home sits nestled in the heart of Lower Broadheath and is worth a visit if you have the time.
  • Clean, airy and comfortable. Nice and private with no unnecessary interruptions or noise, and clear and concise communications from the Host. Spot on.

  • Paul and Tracy are wonderful hosts. Very helpful. The accommodation is extremely clean, very well equipped kitchen, comfortable bed and good quality bed linen and towels. Very cosy lounge. This is a newly built annex attached to the main house but you have a separate entrance and complete privacy. It was a lovely touch to find a supply of tea and coffee and fresh milk. Very appreciated after a long day travelling. There are some lovely country pubs nearby most of which serve good food. Would thoroughly recommend this accommodation.

  • We had such a wonderful weekend at Barbara’s place. Barbara is a lovely host, extremely helpful and very quick to answer questions I had. The accommodation was just as described and had everything we needed. Beautiful location with fantastic walks on the doorstep!

  • Really lovely relaxed weekend. Very comfortable in the annexe and Barbara was very welcoming. We enjoyed exploring a couple of local spots.

    Megan2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • Barbara went out of her way to make us feel welcome. A lovely place in the countryside with the pub just a 30 min walk away, ideal. The fire wasnt a log fire, the only disappointment on an otherwise great stay.

    Mark2019-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely accommodation. We really enjoyed our time, warm and cosy and really quiet. A lovely place to get away.

  • I had a very lovely stay at Barbara’s place. The location is fantastic; peaceful, quiet and idyllic. Barbara strives for perfection as a host and it shows in the delightful cottage. Communication was fab and I felt very welcome and at home, and was super comfortable (the bed is ultra comfy!) . I especially enjoyed the lovely touch of fresh roses Babara had prepared for my arrival! I recommend this place to anyone who is considering a cosy retreat in the Malvern Area of Outstanding Beauty.

Barbara was very welcoming, showed us around and then left us to it - which was perfect - she was at the house if we needed anything though. Many thanks to her.

  • Had a very relaxing few days at Diana's place: such a charming accommodation in a beautiful garden. Private, convenient, and the Talbot Inn pub nearby makes a delicious burger!

    Eleonora2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Diana is a great host. Staying there on my own it was just right. Restful, comfortable and beautiful surroundings... Pheasants, woodpeckers, wrens, jays....:)

    Rachael2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • A really get property with everything we needed in a lovely rural location. Diana is a really welcoming host and was very helpful. We are keen to stay again when it’s warmer as we want to see the garden in bloom.

    Sophie2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay in Diana’s cottage. Diana and her family were so welcoming and friendly. She said we were the first to bring a baby to the cottage (15 months old at the time) and I would recommend this cottage to anyone taking a little one away with them.

    John2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Diana was a great host and the cottage was beautiful. She welcomed us on arrival and was always close by if we needed her. She was happy for us to have our dog with us as well. Situated in a very quiet part of Eastham close to a lot of nature places that we found easy to get to with stunning views. The peacock inn 10mins down the road was fantastic with great food is a must for anyone to try. We had a lovely few days away and it was just what we needed to recharge our batteries. Thank you Diana your home is stunning and we hope to return in the summer months.

    Paula2019-11-21T00:00:00Z
  • A delightful and stylish place to stay. Very comfortable and cosy.

    Suzanne2019-11-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely time at Diana's place. I would recommend researching places to go beforehand as the internet is very few and far between! However Diana has a book of local walks that can be done, which we found very useful. The flat had all the kitchen equipment we needed as well as enough room for the two of us. Thanks for having us!!

    Richard2019-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent Host. Cosy flat with everything you would need for a relaxing get away. Nice thoughtful touches even down to Diana leaving a fresh pint of milk and chocolate biscuits. Beautiful property and location. Driveway could be a bit challenging if you have a low car .

Room with a view. Self contained luxury flat in the heart of rural Worcestershire, but within easy reach of Worcester, Malvern & Stourport on Severn. Come and unwind in this beautiful part of the country. On arrival, sit on the balcony, enjoy the stunning views, whilst enjoying a local ale or a hot drink with home baked cake (if the weather is inclement the view from the Breakfast Bar is equally special). The private flat, sleeps 2, with shower, toilet & bidet. Breakfast is also provided.
Breakfast is self-service - cereals; free range eggs from 'Princess Peck' and our other ex-battery rescue chickens; home made bread (or toast) & home made jams; with unlimited tea & coffee. There is also a microwave. In the summer months a gazebo and a gas B-B-Q are available on request. The flat has twin beds, which can be turned into a double on request - don't worry about the gap - a special bolster deals with that issue! There is a DVD/TV which can be angled towards the bed or the sofa. The bathroom has a shower, toilet & bidet - with complimentary toiletries.
The flat is above the detached double garage, at the end of a private drive. There are only 2 neighbouring properties and as can be seen from the photographs only distant farm houses can be seen from balcony. A footpath takes you to Monkwood Green, itself is a site of special scientic interest and from there it is just a short stroll to the 'Fox Inn' - an extremely interesting country pub. The Fox does not serve food, but many of the local country pubs do fine food. There is also a Thai restaurant nearby, which will also delivers to the property. The City of Worcester is only a fifteen minute drive away with all the amenties you may desire. Worcester is a great place to visit with riverside walks along the River Severn, the imposing Cathedral, the historic Commandery & Diglis Basin - the start of the Worcester to Birmingham canal. For the sports fans Worcester has Premiership Rugby, County Cricket & a historic Race Course, plus numerous golf courses. Closer to the property is English Heritage's Witley Court, with its house, gardens, Baroque church, woodlands & tea room. There are numerous walks from the property or you can borrow our tandem and get further afield on quiet country roads.

The area is beautiful and our host gave us a brilliant and detailed walk to do and the local pub was like stepping back in time and so friendly. The accommodation was private, clean and exactly as described with wonderful views. We would definitely recommend a stay here.

  • Wonderful accommodation. Very quiet and peaceful, spacious with everything you need, and the garden was lovely, with beautiful views! Vicky is a great host; she provided a lovely breakfast for each morning and was even happy to accommodate my dietary needs. She was around to ask questions if needed but respected my privacy. Would definitely recommend.

  • Great place tucked away and marvelous views. We stayed winter but in Spring/summer must be glorious. Very clean and well equipped. Very good shower.

    Anthony2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Vicky and Ben were very welcoming. The place was perfect for us, comfortable, clean and warm. We spent 2 nights. Although attached to the main house, the accommodation is private. Set in beautiful countryside, it is very well situated for visiting surrounding towns and very accessible to lots of walks. We brought our prepared meals and used the microwave. We prefer self catering and would usually cook. But this option , for a short stay worked very well.

    Béatrice2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • The Studio is just as good as it looks in the photographs. In fact better, because the photographs do not show the attention to detail - I could not think of anything else that I needed. Even a pen and notebook were provided. There is no cooker but I knew that from the listing and I arrived with a couple of M&S ready meals to heat in the microwave. It would be lovely to sit out on the veranda or in the garden in the summer. I came during a wet November, so I had to imagine that. I still enjoyed the views though. I can 100% recommend it for a restful stay within easy driving distance of the City of Worcester.

  • A quiet place with everything you need for your stay with welcoming friendly hosts. One more thing the bath towels deserve their own 5 star recommendation.

  • Vicky was an absolutely astounding host from start to finish, she made me feel immediately comfortable and welcome. She was so friendly and she always had great tips for local shopping, food, car parks, sight seeing, you name it, she knew it. As a place where I was only expecting to lay my head to rest I was given so much more. I felt honestly sad to go! Thank you so much for everything. You helped make me trip unforgettable.

The Old Dairy is a beautiful 100-year-old barn with a stylish modern twist. As the name suggests it was originally used as a dairy to milk cows and in the bedroom you will see an original chain to halter the cow whilst being milked.
Light and open, the barn is characterised by the rustic stone-flagged floor, beautiful wooden beams and exposed brick wall. The cottage comprises a country cottage-style kitchen/diner, comfortable lounge area and large bedroom, complete with sky-light, perfect for a spot of star gazing. The large patio doors from the dining area offer a beautiful view over the picturesque courtyard. Outside enjoy a drink and a BBQ on your patio or get truly decadent in your wood-fired hot tub in your private garden area.
We are in a beautiful rural location with plenty to do close by, from walks into the countryside and woodlands right from the doorstep.

  • Barbara's studio is a warm and cosy place with great views. It is well equipped and peaceful. We had an enjoyable stay and hope to return in the future.

    Rick2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • A very relaxing and lovely studio. We were here at New Year and Barbara made the whole place very warm and cosy with lovely touches including sparkle lit jars, a little Christmas tree, lights around the bedstead and the tree outside was also adorned with twinkly lights. Oh, and not to forget a nice cold bottle of wine in the fridge :-) There are lovely walks all around but as we were only over New Year, we didn't make the most of it. But it is ideal for you walkers out there. And for the romantics, just perfect.

    Beverley2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing, cosy and peaceful studio set in rural countryside. Very private studio with a little lane separating the studio from the host’s house. Barbara was a wonderful host who checked in on us enough to make sure we had settled in okay, but also respected our privacy. We stayed over Christmas and the kitchen had all the pots, pans and utensils we needed to cook a Christmas Dinner. We loved every second of our stay. Thanks for having us!

    Charlotte2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely host, I came late & was checked up on to make sure I was okay, also got a cold and was asked if I was okay and needed any medication. Barbara was communicative in the right way, not too much but enough to make sure I’m settled and knew where everything was. Would definitely stay again, the place is really good for your mental health or just to get away from a busy city life.

    Gurpreet2019-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely lovely little house tucked away in a beautiful location. We had a wonderful time enjoying the space that Barbara has created, which has beautiful views of the countryside and a lovely amount of light in the house itself. Barbara was very helpful throughout our visit and even left biscuits out as a thoughtful touch for the dog. (We also enjoyed the company of the chickens in the field out front!)

    Tori2019-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • Barbara's place is absolutely lovely. A quiet spot with beautiful views and access to terrific walks. Barbara is also a fantastic host who was always on hand to make sure we had everything we needed during our stay (including drying out my boots when we got drenched on a walk!). Highly recommended.

    Gavin2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Barbara's place was amazing!! We really enjoyed the peace and quiet and especially the view from the studio over the hills. The location was a perfect startingpoint from where to discover the Malvern Hills, a beautifull national park with great views and perfect for hiking. The Cotswolds are close enough to visit, so we did. The studio itself was perfect for the two of us. Spacious, simple and stylish. I would recommend studio Virama if your looking for a peaceful place to relax.

The Goose House is a private one bedroom cottage in the grounds of Brook Cottage, a small holding, which originates from the 17 th century. It is situated in an 'Area of outstanding natural beauty' and the delightful Leigh Brook runs through the grounds. It has gated access and plenty of parking. It has been fully renovated in 2018 and offers a comfortable stay. A welcome pack includes our own fresh eggs, homemade jam and fresh coffee that we roast ourselves. We have super fast broad band too.
The Goose House is ideal for walkers and cyclists. It is next door to a nature reserve and has the beautiful Leigh Brook full of brown trout running through its grounds. You may be able to spot some of the wildlife including kingfishers which nest in the banks. We have also been visited by otters in the summer months. There are some great nearby pubs a short drive away that offer tasty local produce. We are always happy to give recommendations during your stay. Also we have a local brewery 10 minutes away that brews its own beer on the farm and serves it in its own bar. A great place to visit on a Friday night. The village of Alfrick is a 20 minute walk away by public footpath at the back of the property. There is a wonderful community shop and cafe selling local produce. Holloways, only a 10 minute drive away and well worth a visit is a country homeware store and cafe. The cafe provides home baked cakes, light meals and afternoon tea. The Three Counties Show ground is 20-25 minute drive away. The city of Worcester is only eight miles away with a great choice of shops, restaurants and entertainment. The lovely spa town of Malvern 5 miles away. For walkers the Malvern Hills are nearby and The Worcestershire Way runs close by. There are many footpaths in the surrounding area offering routes through beautiful scenery. Cyclists can chose from many routes, as long as they don't mind hills!
Beautiful rural area in Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Very private but not isolated. In the grounds of our home Brook Cottage in ten acres of land.

  • We loved our time at the Goose House. The cottage is in a very peaceful setting, yet easy access to the Malvern Hills. Communication prior and during our trip was brilliant. The cottage is clean, well equipped and very cosy. We really appreciated all of the extra little touches such as the fresh eggs, bread, jam, coffee and milk. Great idea to stock and allow you to purchase the local beer in the cottage. The Hop Shed is brilliant on a Friday evening, great atmosphere and more importantly, great beer! Highly recommend the Goose House, we would love to come back if we were in the area again.

  • Rebecca & Richard are just amazing. We booked in incredibly last minute and Rebecca accommodated us at the drop of a hat. Her cottage is just beautiful, we couldn’t stop watching the lovely animals outside. We had a fantastic breakfast in the morning with fresh eggs and the BEST homemade jam, really lovely touches which made our stay a memorable one. Thank you so much X

  • Beautiful house and location. Communication was quick and directions clear. Rebecca made everything really easy and created a warm welcome with a sparklingly clean house and eggs, bread and jam ready for the morning. Plenty to do in the area and lots of helpful hints and tips provided in the house - I wish we could have stayed longer to explore properly. Hope to visit again soon!

Our house is a 16th century timber frame house with streamside garden, situated in the heart of rural Herefordshire. We have one ensuite double bedroom and a children's bedroom on the same floor also available (extra charge applies) A cot and high chair are available. Betty our goldendoodle and her son Frankie live with us along with Jingle the cat. Sadly Mr Fox took our chickens but we hope to get more in the spring of 2018. Breakfast will be cereals and toast. Make your own hot drinks anytime.
Our house features many authentic medieval details, and sits amidst glorious countryside.
We live in a small hamlet without shops or public transport.
  • Fascinating 15th century house! Lovely stay with Ruth and her pups! Thanks again for the hospitality.

  • Ruth was very helpful and quickly responded to my questions, She was very welcoming when I arrived a little early. The room is a good size, bed and pillows very comfortable. The toiletries where really good quality plenty hot water and towels. I would definitely stay there again if I’m in the area.

    Jeannie2019-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Ruth’s house is an amazing historic building with so many interesting things about it. It’s a marvel that something the was built so long ago, still endures! Updated and modernized, of course, but very much retains its historic charms and character. Very comfy bed and breakfast included as well as being able to bring my pup along. Betty and Frank the labradoodles were very energetic and friendly and got on well with my border collie. I would stay again if I’m in the area.

  • A beautiful home in picturesque country side. Perfect for getting away from city living.

    Hamish2018-04-15T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay with Ruth and Mark. They were very welcoming of us and our 2 boys, the rooms were lovely and there were books and toys for the children to play with. They loved playing with the dogs and running around outside. The house was located in a nice, quiet village but with a pub within walking distance. The beds were nice and comfy with everything such as sheets and towels being at a high standard. We would highly recommend this place and would definitely stay again if in the area.

  • Wonderful cosy cottage. Host, Alice is lovely. The farm is great with a good games room ( and even better one been built at the moment) No ponies or alpaca which was slightly disappointing but my youngest loved the goats. Stock up well as very remote but so peaceful. Just what we needed. Hot tub a hit with all of us. Would love to come again in spring or summer time, especially with the new shop/licensed cafe opening. Lovely surrounding area. Had a wonderful time, thanks.
