  • The Old Mill was fantastic! It was a unique experience that my family will remember for many years to come. Sandra and her husband were responsive, kind and helpful!

  • A stunning place with real ‘WOW’ factor. You will be praised and thanked for finding this place! Even better than it looks in the pics! Fantastic for a group get together. Lots of space and all warm and comfortable. Superb dining room for a formal dinner plus extra space to eat informally. Great showers, comfortable beds and plenty of hot water. It will be hard to beat....

  • Great house with lovely spaces, we really enjoyed staying here.

    Lorna2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • The old mill is a beautiful and unique place to stay. It was a perfect refuge from the weekend's storm, with lots of different seating areas , and a great open plan kitchen, easily big enough for everybody to be doing their own thing. Very comfortable beds in the range of bedrooms - privacy is an issue as noted in previous comments but worth it to stay somewhere so unusual. This was lovely for a february weekend break but would be amazing in the summer

    Kate2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • The mill is an amazing place to stay. The property has been renovated to a very high standard I would highly recommend any one to stay at the old mill

    Gav2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • We were a little nervous booking accommodation that would work effectively for 17 people, however the Old Mill was just superb. A classy development of an old and iconic venue that works very well indeed. The dining area at the base of the Mill was a real treat and worked wonderfully for our dinners and the kitchen area worked really well for the other meals. It is very well appointed and unique is lots of ways. It has plenty of space so you are not ever feeling cramped. One thing to consider is the intimacy of the three Mill Tower bedrooms that you have to talk through to get to a bathroom. They are beautiful but would probably need to be folks you know well to be comfortable with it. Sandra was a great host, accurate and timely communication , very reactive when we had a couple of challenges all of which was very helpful indeed. She also decorated the place beautifully for the Christmas celebration. This is an amazing venue for a large group, we would consider using it again. Thank you Sandra and Gary.

  • This was a great surprise to stumble across when a trip to Barcelona I had planned for my boyfriends 30th had to be cancelled due to Corona virus. I felt lucky to have a haven in our own country to go to and when we have the sunshine there really is no need to go abroad. The treehouse is stunning and I would have been happy to self isolate for months there! The hot tub is especially a great touch in the pine trees and when the sunsets it is beautiful! A very beautiful place hidden away - we could have been in Canada! Thank you Katy!

  • Amazing beautiful location and spotless accommodation 5 stars!

    John2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful location! The cabin was cute, clean and modern - the hot tub was magical to sit in and turn off the lights to watch the stars. Spoilt for choice to either just stay at the cabin or go on adventures in the local area.

    Rachel2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Great remote location you feel very secluded and private when in the hot tub and home. Comfy beds and nice living area perfect for a cosy winter stay like what we had and I should imagine great for a summer exploration stay aswell. We would definitely consider coming here again.

  • We spent Christmas at Toad Hall and had the most magical time. The house is so unbelievably beautiful and no picture can do it justice. The house had been decorated tastefully which was a lovely touch. The hot tub was just amazing and was well used on the cold nights! We would definitely go back again without hesitation. Thank you Katy! Xxx

This stunning quaint property is wrapped in 12 acres of private nature filled woodland. With a short walk to hundreds of acres and lakes of Bawsey Country Park. From an open fire to a luxurious hot tub. This wonderful property is about finding time to relax, unwind and make happy memories from beautiful walks that end with a cup of tea as the dog lays in front of the Aga, to stargazing the night sky with perhaps a glass of bubbly while relaxing in the hot tub.
Paradise is situated in private woodlands which is shared with one other property, but is accessed by its own completely separate driveway and front door. Both properties having their own private gardens and hot tubs. Paradise is surrounded by nature and backing onto one of the most breath-taking Country parks.
Nature, privacy, luxury and fun. Its about relaxation and creating an experience that will remain with you for a lifetime and hopefully be the first of many visits. We have succeeded if you are coming back to recharge with us in years to come.
  • Thank you for a great weekend away! Location is amazing! Directions very accurate. Loved the views and walks through surrounding woodlands. Hot tub was amazing surrounded by nature. Definitely want to visit again in summer!

  • We spent two nights at Stephens Lodge and our contact Jane went above and beyond to ensure our stay went as smooth as possible even when things out of our hands went wrong! There are lovely little touches in around the lodge to make your stay so easy, especially if you are bringing a dog with you. It’s these little things that really count. The walk around the lake was as wonderful as depicted in the pictures and we were very fortunate with the weather. The fireplace at night time made for a great cosy feature to really help us all relax. The kitchen is well stocked with essentials and we found cooking large evening meals for 4 people very easy. The hot tub is the icing on the cake, perfect temperatures even in the cold evening chill. We did not venture out apart from our lake walk as the property was just too nice to want to leave. Would definitely return. Thank you!

  • Lovely little place with a gorgeous lake just behind the property for a scenic walk!

    Kristen2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at the cottage was very relaxing, everything we need to get away from life stresses. We enjoyed everything that was on offer! the hot tub we ideal every morning and evening under the stars.

    Aimie2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect place for a getaway, so relaxing. Exactly what we needed to zen out. Loved that it was hidden away behind a main road, this made it hard to find but allowed us to be in our own little world almost.

    Jenna2020-01-28T00:00:00Z
  • What a magical place. Stephen & Jane were lovely hosts and their cottage was just what we needed for a relaxing break. Communication was great throughout the entire booking process and during our stay. accommodating hosts whose special touches are much appreciated -thank you! You are surrounded by nature everywhere you turn: the beautiful Lake just one minutes walk away, deer greeting you as you open your curtains in the morning and looking up at the stars on a clear night while soaking in the hot tub. So magical! The cottage itself is clean, warm and cosy with a fireplace in the living room (wood was provided for us on the first night). The kitchen is well equipped with all you need - tea and coffee and even a bottle of wine was waiting for us on arrival - lovely touch. The beds were a comfortable place to rest your head after a day going on walks and there a was ample space to store your things. The Bawsey church ruins are just 10-15 minute walk away, Sainsbury’s is a 5 minute drive. This is a lovely spot to relax and it exceeded our expectations! Thank you both so much - we would love to return again soon!

  • Had a wonderful, everything was ready and clean. The location was fantastic and was amazing for the dog to have a run around the lake. Then to come back to a nice hot tub was a great end to the day!

  • Overall a great stay. An amazingly comfy bed and a nice location for local amenities and walks however the property was very close to the main road so it didn't feel as tucked away as advertised.

  • This place is well presented and comfortable and was a great size for our family of five. The owners made us feel very welcome. It is the short hop to the lake that makes this place special.

  • We had a wonderful stay! House was more than comfortable for the friends I had there with me, we had a few lovely fires and cooked lots of nice food. The lake near by is stunning and can imagine In the summer with all the sand there it’s amazing! We actually visited in storm Dennis but that didn’t stop us in the hot tub. We had a very good meal at the sandy boy the local pub and have great food at a fish and chip shop called Eric’s. Plus fab beaches close by. What a wonderful 35th birthday weekend away! Will be back and thanks for the owners for getting back to us quickly with questions and just been good hosts! Dale

There's a nice walking route literally on your doorstep and some nearby nice pubs. We really loved our stay and would recommend for a weekend away with family or friends.

  • The cottage was amazing, it had everything we needed! The hot tub on the first night was great, it was a clear sky so the stars were amazing! There's a really nice walk around the lake and a good pub only couple of minutes away! The living room area was big and spacious, would definitely recommend!

  • It is an amazing place to visit if you want to get away from everyday life. I turned my phone off for the whole time and enjoyed everything the place had to offer. The property itself has some great places to wander around and take in the beautiful scenery and wildlife. The Shepard hut was particularly wonderful, it's a luscious small space that was perfect for me and my partner. We couldn't recommend a stay somewhere more than this place! You will love it 😁

    Cassie2020-02-09T00:00:00Z

  • Lovely clean and warm shepherds hut in a beautiful location. Lovely listening to the owls, and other wildlife in an evening. A hidden gem.

    Phil2019-11-22T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely beautiful. The cabin was very clean and cosy. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting a little hideaway trip.

    June2019-11-13T00:00:00Z
  • This place was AMAZING. Gorgeous little shepherd's hut, tastefully decorated and absolutely spotless. A bigger bed than I expected, sometimes the beds in shepherd's huts are diddy but my long-legged SO had no complaints. There was a wood burner inside the cabin that made the place really cosy when it got started. And the showers/toilets were heated which made the stay so much more comfortable, big thumbs up there. I liked the wood fired hot tub but at the time we went (right over Halloween) it took absolutely ages to heat up – the guide said up to 3 hours but it was closer to 5, and it was actually only really warm by that point, not hot, but we'd run out of patience so just decided to jump in. Stargazing in a hot tub is pretty nice, getting out into the freezing cold was not. Interesting though, we checked the tub the next day just to make sure we hadn't left leaves in and the water was still warm after what, 8-10 hours? So if the hot tub was in regular use I think it'd have been much less hassle to get it going. There was lots of info provided about local amenities, but for nature you don't have to go far as there's a forest right next to the cabin! Only had time to walk in there once but we caught sight of a pretty big hare and the tail-end of a deer, absolutely picturesque. All in all I'd love to come back again and would definitely recommend it to others!

    Amber2019-11-01T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely beautiful. If you want to have some time away from the world then this is your place. I have never been somewhere, where I’ve never wanted to leave. We had a beautiful welcome note which is always a great touch! We were provided with so much information in regards to the area and places to see, and places to eat etc. I made two new chicken friends who really made me and my boyfriend feel at home aha! It was nice to have company when washing up!😂 The walks, cabin, scenery and experience was out of this world! Thank you x

Beautiful friendly village with good pub and local events. If you like fishing; fantastic carp tench bream roach & crucians that average 2lb in village pond but respect the local residents some treat the fish like their pets and I understand why. Pleasant drive to Kings Lynn and the wonderful north Norfolk coast.. Helpful, friendly owners even bough us home made jam and scones mmm. Spent a wonderful afternoon going round the open gardens in the village. Will go back "An English country retreat" We had an absolutely delightful stay in the Old School House and can't recommend it enough. It's location in the village of Wereham is stunning - it overlooks the village pond, across from the church and opposite the pub. A perfect English village setting. The property is extremely comfortable and spacious - it has attractive decor throughout and plenty of equipment. Many places we've stayed tend only to cater for basic needs but the owners seem to have thought of everything. This area of Norfolk is largely ignored and yet there 's much to explore. King's Lynn, Swaffham, Thetford, Ely and the North Norfolk coast a little further afield. The National Trust property of Oxburgh Hall is a nearby gem too. However if peace and quiet is what you need you'll find it here. We'll be back. "Great Value" Roomy, comfortable and well-appointed accommodation in a chocolate-box English village setting. I was really impressed by the facilities and equipment available. There are plenty of touristy places to visit within reasonable driving distance. The house has plenty of room and is very well-priced, especially for a large group - a club break, family reunion holiday, retreat etc. The wood-burning stove and stock of games and books make it an enjoyable place to stay even on a cold wet day. ‘Thank you for allowing us to stay in your lovely home. It was truly stunning . What a view and location’ . ‘You have created a magical place’ ‘We had an amazing time in your house. It is really beautiful and perfect for entertaining’ ‘House very spacious and the pics on the internet do not do it justice’ ‘House is so well equipped, every kitchen utensil you could possible need’’ ‘Pub super, very friendly.’ ‘Pub allowed us to take our dog in and made friends with all the locals Guest have all of the House exclusively available to them for their stay. • Booked this place on the day that we needed it, on the off chance that the owner would see the booking. Ian called me straight away completely putting my mind at ease. He was wonderfully helpful every step of the way and a pleasure to deal with in every sense. The place itself is straight out of a story book, on a little pond with ducks and swans, opposite a picturesque little pub. Can’t recommend it highly enough!

  • Great place, lovely scenery and local area, close to king's lynn.

    Abi2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Brilliant house which perfectly suited us as a group of three small families, with a great sized kitchen and living area. Lots of baby equipment which came in handy too. Location right by duck pond is lovely and there are lots of good forest walks nearby as well as a small children's playground in the village. Ian was a very generous host, the house was decorated for Christmas and there was a bottle of prosecco, biscuits and chocolates waiting for us. He also came round to fill our glasses during Wereham's new year fireworks which was a lovely touch!

  • We came here for the weekend to celebrate a 40th birthday. We had a wonderful time. The house was amazing, sparkly clean, lovely and warm and lots of extra special touches. We were greeted on arrival by the hosts who were lovely and left us milk in the fridge and Prosecco and chocolates on the table which the kids loved. The view over the duck pond was lovely. We hope to return again soon. Highly recommended.

  • Lovely House with a real feel of a small town, great living space big enough for entertaining everyone. Great tips of things to do in the local area and more enough to keep everyone happy. Would definitely recommend staying here as Ian is a great host and more than happy to help out if needed.

  • Great home, well equipped and comfortable. Lovely woodland straight from the garden, muntjac and pheasant regularly spotted. We found this a good base from which to explore North Norfolk. Weather was grim, but it didn't matter to us as we had a cosy space to relax in when we'd had enough of wet and windy walks!

  • What a tardis and fantastic space to stay in. With ample parking, and proximity to local villages and Kings Lynn, the property boasts a stunning view from the garden of the woods and a gate from the garden through the woods to the Bawsey Lakes - ideal for walks with the dog. All the bedrooms are spacious and the living space offers family living and a great celebration area!

    Katie2020-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely cottage by a well connected road and backing onto a lovely country park. Not a far drive to the sea and there are an awful lot of beautiful beaches nearby. Everything you would like to have in a house is catered for and it is lovely to try out some of the nice bath gels supplied. Such an original touch. All in all a very comfortable house to stay in, plenty of space and comfortably laid out. Even your dog is hugely welcome, with towels, doggie bags and eating and drinking bowls supplied. Worth a visit!

  • We had a delightful stay, the place was sparkling clean, the hosts were attentive and welcoming. They were accommodating to our late arrival and all round superb. The little touches such as the carnations, milk, orange juice, bread etc were a very pleasant surprise. They obviously were thoughtful enough to think of their guests and went above and beyond. The finish of the place was modern and stylish. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

    Debbie2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • It really is one of those places where the host has thought of everything. It didn't feel like it was being done to make money but to give people a lovely time.

    Jo2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Jasmine is very helpful and kind owner, the house is comfy and clean, and is easy to go anywhere, the biscuit and chocolate are so good.

    Cathy2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • So many thoughtful touches in this lovely home including a basket of goodies and chocolates upon our arrival. We were greeted by an enthusiastic and friendly host, Jasmine who introduced us to the annexe which was very clean, warm and extremely comfortable. We were pleased to see a good sized bathroom with fluffy towels and a good sized bedroom with a very comfortable super king bed. Even though the location is in a quiet village with parking outside the front door, it was still central to the town of Thetford and Tesco supermarket within easy driving distance. Jasmine was very quick to respond to any queries, even offering places for us to visit during our stay during winter. We also appreciated her changing the linen and towels midway through our two week visit. A wonderful fortnight exploring Norwich. Would highly recommend the Butterflies Annexe.

    Catherine2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Our 3rd and definitely not our last stay at Jasmine's beautiful place. Jasmine and Keith are fabulous hosts. The accomodation is first class and you feel at home the moment you arrive.

Our place is close to everything in the town-centre. Very close. You’ll love it's separate hidden cosiness. Smallish but unusual, with own wc/wet-room. Has cuppa-kit, light self-serve breakfast goods, a toaster, microwave & chiller. The annex is good for contractors, business travellers, couples & solo adventurers. Weekends are usually blocked, but your stay may be continued into the weekend on request.
The entry to my home is thru an old building - where you'll be staying. The main picture shows the passageway, with the doors to the room and wetroom. The doors open away from each other, meaning you can pass between invisibly - my kitchen window (mainly behind leaves) is the only one which looks directly on to the annex. Use an entry code to come & go as you wish. Don't be fazed by the lack of windows on the outside - it really is here!
Thetford is a very historic town. There are museums, Dad's Army tours, and High Lodge Thetford Forest Adventure Park (Go Ape, Cycle Trails, Concerts, more) 5 miles away There's a nightclub, cinema and half-dozen pubs within a few minutes walk. There's plenty of eateries minutes if not seconds away, and there's a European supermarket open til 10pm yards away. It's town-centre, but mostly quiet, being enclosed by walls. On the edge of Thetford Forest and at rivers convergence, there's a lot of nature to be found with just a short walk.

    Alex2019-11-22T00:00:00Z
  • Karen's place is quirky but cosy! The room is well supplied with a chiller, microwave, toaster and plenty of cereal. Although only heated by a plug in heater, it stayed really warm despite some really nasty wintery conditions. The shower in the wet room downstairs was great - lots of water pressure and really hot. The alley you need to go down was very dark, so get your phone torch ready if you arrive after sunset! Karen was there to meet me despite me turning up an hour early and was very welcoming, and also provided a little guide to the accommodation in the room to explain the ins-and-outs. The room is right in the middle of town so convenient for the town centre shops and also close to the river, which is pretty to walk along. All in all this was great place to stay and really good value. I hope to be back! Thanks Karen!

    Katherine2019-11-14T00:00:00Z
  • Karen’s place is in a great location, right in the centre of town. It’s a cute annex and nice and secluded and quiet. We had our own private access and our own shower room. And she was super helpful throughout our stay! We’d definitely stay here again!

This little Shepherd hut is fully equipped to offer a base to explore the surrounding area. The village is quintessentially English ! Small church - Village green - a handful of houses - more horses than people - very quiet.
We can offer a spare bed for those travelling with children. it is a funky blow up mattress with bedding. Inflated in a minute !! Amazing to watch. Just let us know if you would like the extra bed. You get a hot tub tooooo .. for a small fee !
It is a small village and no pub or shop for 4 miles. please make sure to bring some provisions with you !
  • Lovely place to stay for a get away. Use of hot tub is a must. The hut has everything you need and more.

    Michelle2020-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • The perfect get away from our city jobs! The hut was cosy, excellently equipped, and exactly what we were hoping for.

  • Had a lovely stay at piano forte, and will definitely be back! The hut is really well equipped, the hot tub is wonderful, and plenty of fun things to do and places to explore around Thetford and Banham. Great way to escape for a few days.

    Genevieve2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • This place is amazing, exactly how it was advertised, clean cosy and like a home from home! Loved every minute here and didnt want to leave. The shepherd's hut was well equipped and the decor was very modern and stylish! It was like being in your own private space and you would have never known there was anyone around! Felt very relaxed in the hot tub without being overlooked. I would 100% recommend adding the hot tub onto your stay. One thing I would say is that the Wifi doesnt reach inside of the shepherd's hut but it does while in garden area, however this didnt affect our stay. I always had quick responses from the host whenever i had a question to ask. I will be recommending Piano Forte to everyone and will be returning.

    Gemma2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Such a lovely little cabin. My girlfriend and I enjoyed celebrating our anniversary at Piano Forté. Great hot tub, quiet, peaceful, clean, private and cosy. Highly recommend it!

    Sam2020-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • Very romantic little spot. Although there are two other properties on the site Piano Forte was very private and exclusive. We felt very comfortable and hidden away-which was lovely. Hot tub is perfect and very clean! The seating areas and ‘hut’ outside are a lovely touch too. We couldn’t get the WiFi to connect inside the cabin at all unfortunately, however 4G (provider EE) worked fine throughout the cabin, and WiFi worked OK outside in certain spots. Unless your avid walkers you definitely need a car/taxis to get around. Closet town was around a 5/10 minute drive but very easy to get to. We were provided with a bottle of wine in the cabin on arrival which was a very kind extra touch! It’s a small cosy space which we throughly enjoyed.

    Summer2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • It was the perfect retreat for a relaxing few days away! Definitely book the hot tub too! Perfect beyond belief xx

My house is in a very quiet private estate but is less then a 10 minute walk to the town centre and less then a 5 minute walk to the bus stop. Norwich is approximately halve an hour drive away. So I believe best of both worlds, peace and quiet without being isolated.
Neighbourhood is quiet and neighbours are pleasant and polite.

  • We judged the accommodation to be fully up to the standards advertised and we have no complaints. Just to be clear, we checked-in but were unable to spend the night because the external event we’d come to attend finished earlier than expected and so we decided to drive home that evening. Our early departure should in no way be considered a criticism of the accommodation or our host. I can confirm that our host was ready waiting for us when we arrived shortly after midday. The accommodation appeared to be modern, clean and tidy. Our host had provided a set of freshly laundered towels and we believe the bed linen to be the same (though we didn’t end up sleeping there). The bathroom was modern and clean. We were told that while we were welcome to use both the bath and shower, the shower worked better. We are shower people so this didn’t bother us. Our host told us that we had the run of the kitchen and could help ourselves to tea, coffee and milk. Based on our limited experience we would have no hesitation recommending this accommodation to others.

    Arnab2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • Mandy could not have been more helpful, check in was made so easy and she was in constant contact making sure everything went smoothly. The rooms and bathroom were spotless and the shower was brilliant. Would definitely recommend to anyone wishing to stay here. Even though Mandy was feeling extremely under the weather and we couldn’t meet i don’t feel she could have done any more for us, great host

The Lodge has all the amentities you need to make your stay a home from home (suitable for 2 adults and 2 children). Duke Lodge is located behind Duke House (Formerly The Duke of Wellington Pub) built circa 1820. Newly decorated with off road parking for one car and a great base for Thetford Forest (High Lodge), Brandon Country Park, The Brecks, Grimes Graves and RSPB Nature Reserves at Lakenheath to name a few. As we moved to Brandon in December, we can give guests an outsiders overview. To us Brandon is a lovely Town, surrounded by Thetford Forest. Brandon has it's own Railway Station, which we both use frequently taking us into Cambridge, in only 35 minutes. In a short car journey you could be at the Norfolk coast. Generally a very quiet town, but definitely with lots to offer in the surrounding area. So far we have tried the Italian restaurant Mondragone and the Brandon Tandoori, which we have found to be friendly, serving good food.

  • Had a lovely stay here! Gorgeous cosy cabin and caught 37 fish (we stayed 2 nights). We brought our dog too and she loved it. Jo was so pleasant to deal with and quick to respond too. Would go again!

  • Absolutely loved staying here. First time in a shepherd hut and it was amazing. Setting is beautiful. Loved the hot tub and waking up to the lake and birds singing in the morning. Everything from check in to cleanliness was perfect. Already looking at dates to return!

    Louise2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • The views from the hut are priceless. Beautiful location and hot tub is an added bonus. Although would be more ideal if there was a path leading up to the hot tub - bring spare shoes to walk up the embankment. Local town was friendly and good value for money. Absolutely loved our stay and will be coming back soon!

  • Had a lovely stay. The place was warm and comfortable. There was ample crockery and storage space. The view of the lake was superb, shame about storm Ciara, but didn’t let it affect our stay. Top tip, bring flip flops to walk to hot tub. Thanks for a great trip

  • What can I say about this little gem. Set in quiet, idyllic Norfolk countryside though close to tonnes of great things to do, we really had a dream stay here. First of all, communication was incredible. All of our questions regarding coming with a little baby were answered immediately. The hosts were so helpful and accommodating and offered us a load of great recommendations for things to do and places to go. The studio was spotless and classily done. Lovely comfy queen bed and all the amenities high quality. Lovely shower room which is important. The high ceilings and exposed brick make it a lovely place to hang out and the underfloor heating was a touch we greatly appreciated. Great value for money and a wonderful New Years away. Would Highly recommend to anyone looking in this area.

  • Just came back from a weekend at Mels place, ‘The Wren’. The cottage was absolutely beautiful, clean and had everything we required for a nice little break. The Christmas decorations were so cute and the guide book was extremely helpful. Mel was great at responding to my messages and I would definitely recommend staying here.

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in The Wren and thought it was in a great location for exploring Norfolk/Cambridgeshire and for getting in some well deserved R&R. The property is nestled in woodland and offers everything you need for a peaceful and nature-loving break. Easy check-in, clean facilities, ideal local amenities and the Christmas touches really made our weekend.

Retreat into nature in Owl Tree Temple, the perfect space for two amongst the trees. Here at West Lexham we have 6 Treehouses and 7 Glamping Bell Tents, all residing in 21 acres of beautiful nature and wildlife. To see all of our properties, please search for our .org website. In Owl Tree Temple you’ll find a delightfully comfortable double bed complete with colourful blankets and plenty of fairy twinkling lights. You’ll be surrounded by splashes of colour and rustic furniture collected from distant travels or reclaimed and hand built by local carpenters - it’s a magical woodland sanctuary to unwind and relax. By nightfall you can cosy up with the log burning stove (we’ve provided plenty of wood!) and enjoy a deep and restful sleep, drifting off to the sounds of the forest. For colder nights, Owl has renewably-powered central heating, making it delightfully welcoming throughout the year. Pathways through the surrounding woodland are lit by night • Please note the pool is closed throughout the winter as it is an outdoor pool. Usually we reopen this April - October Owl has its own ensuite bathroom with a steaming hot shower, with bath towels and organic hand soap and shampoo provided. There is also a small table with 2 chairs and a kitchenette complete with kettle, toaster, fridge, tea, coffee and a cool box. Outside your tree temple you’ll find tables and chairs along with your own gas-powered BBQ. For cooking larger feasts, head over to the fully-equipped, communal Garden Kitchen (Oven, hob, freezer, pots, utensils etc.). Here you’ll also find the wood-fired pizza oven and the nearby communal fire bowl. There’s so much to see and do here at West Lexham. We have a heated outdoor pool from May to October, with many guests choosing a refreshing wild swim in the lake the whole year round. There are also 2 rowing boats for you to take on the water along with a tennis court with views across the lake. We have recently completed a huge Japanese meditation garden - an enchanting spot for a morning stroll or finding a moment’s peace. We have planted every type of tree and shrub indigenous to the UK here and work hard to promote habitats for wildlife. In spring and summer, the site is alive with glorious flowers attracting many happy bees and insects. We are close to some of Norfolk’s best pubs - The Dabbling Duck in Great Massingham is a particular favourite! We love the saturday morning market in our local town, Swaffham, where there are 2 big super markets. We are also just half an hour from spectacular sandy beaches and a short drive to some awesome cultural attractions including Houghton Hall and Holkham Estate. For the kids, there are plenty of adventurous days out. We are 5 mins drive from ‘ExTREEme’ high ropes and the award-winning Hootz House at Pensthorpe is 25 mins away. Please feel free to ask us for recommendations!
There is a love of the land and a belief in sustainability in its most all-encompassing sense at the heart of all that goes on here. We are run on over 90% renewable energy, with heat provided by our renewable wood chip boiler. Our deliciously mineral-rich drinking water comes from our own chalk spring and are grounds are nurtured to be a paradise for conservation and wildlife.

Deep in the heart of Norfolk this much loved holiday home is an ideal place to escape the hustle and bustle of a busy life. WOODLANDS is a modern cottage with traditional touches, it has large light-filled living spaces and comfortable bedrooms. Ideal for families as well as couples wanting a little more space or friends looking to relax and unwind. Woodland walks and cycle rides are on your doorstep and a wood burner ensures you'll be cosy on cooler nights. Well behaved dogs welcome (2 max).
This little piece of Norfolk heaven, The Plantation, is so-called because it is positioned in an oak wood planted by the owner's great-grandfather over 100 years ago. WOODLANDS is the self-contained holiday cottage and makes up half of a spacious barn-style building (the other side is not rented out but sometimes used by the owner's family). The cottage has a light-filled, well equipped kitchen and a large yet comfortable living room with a wood burning stove (we provide a complementary basket of logs for guests in winter). The property has central heating & underfloor heating (downstairs) There are two large doubles - the larger room can have either a Superking bed or Two singles (just let us know when booking). All our guests are free to venture and wander in the woods and we welcome up to 2 well behaved dogs but we do ask for a small pet fee (£20 per stay - see below). The cottage is only 5 miles from the bustling market town of Swaffham with a great Saturday market and a few minutes drive to the beautiful Oxborough Hall (National Trust). WOODLANDS is the perfect location to enjoy the very best of the English countryside.
  • On leaving after our stay I realised I felt a sense of calm and relaxation. That's what 2 days away in a fantastic place like this can do. The accomodation was brilliant; more than enough space for 5 of us. The welcome gift of biscuits was an unexpected but delicious surprise The log burner was wonderful and even when we found all the firefighters had been used, our hosts were very quick to supply some more; brilliant service The grounds around the property were great for our boys to explore, and we even saw a deer in the garden early morning. The en-suite bathroom was wonderfully convenient, along with the main house bathroom. I would like to come back in Summer weather to enjoy the outdoor areas more.

  • We had a lovely stay in their beautiful cottage as a family with our 18 month old, who loved the garden and outdoor space despite the rain! Our car broke down and we were stuck at the house, but it was quite a nice thing; to be stuck in the woods, in a cosy house with a fire and switch off from our usual London life! Would really recommend

  • We had a wonderful weekend break away staying in Sorrel and Kim’s place! The pictures do not show just how great the cottage actually is. We’ll definitely be recommending to friends and family. The perfect woodland retreat along with very accommodating host’s.

    Ryan2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely woodland weekend! The house and garden were ideal for our family. All 4 kids (aged 11 months, 3, 12 and 12 were catered for). The garden and woodland were great for exploring and playing in, and the large open lounge was a nice sociable space. Travel cot, high chair and baby gates were not just made available but all set up ready for us. The whole property was clean and well-maintained. Kim was a fantastic host with excellent communication and useful tips - she even left a bottle of wine as we were celebrating a big birthday! We weren’t there for very long so our time to explore was limited, but the play area in Beachamwell was brilliant. It’d be lovely to stay here again in warmer weather!

    Christine2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely, well-equipped cottage in a beautiful rural setting. Suited two middle-aged couples perfectly. As we were there in November we didn't use the patio or garden, but it must be lovely out there in the summer months. Wonderful walking country all around and a charming old-fashioned pub, the Twenty Churchwardens, nearby at Cockley Cley (but take cash, as they don't accept plastic.)

The Old Fire Station is charming, quaint and quirky. The building has had a varied life ! Originally built to house the town Fire Pump - later converted to the town conveniences !! and later used as a council store. It is strategically placed in the heart of the town, amid all the hustle and bustle.
The space is fully equipped with everything you would need for a 'break away'.
It is quite quirky staying in the old town Fire Station !

  • Gorgeous base for Thetford and beyond. Cosy and really well appointed.

    Zoe2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • When you look from outside, you cannot believe how nice is the inside. It is a tiny studio apartment but tastefully decorated. A very comfortable bed. Everything sparkly clean and good quality. She had a bottle of wine and nice flowers waiting for me at my arrival. I enjoyed staying at Gwyneth's place. However, if you are a light sleeper it is not a place for you. The place has no noise insulation. For a small town the place is on the main street it has lots of semi trucks traveling from one end to another. Also, there is no place to keep your clothes in other than hanging the clothes on the wall. Overall, it is a very clean place in a proximity to everything in the city. Brandon is a nice little town. Thank you Gwyneth for your nice touch and great hospitality.

    Emine2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely property, with everything you need and more. The thoughtful touches, flowers and a bottle of wine were very kind. The property is clean, compact and everything you need from a dishwasher to the huge tv. The location is great and we were able to leave the car on the local car park and catch the train to Cambridge, Ely and Norwich, with the train station just a 10 minute walk away. Two supermarkets are nearby, plus local shops pubs and restaurants, it’s really in a handy place for everything. I have no hesitation in recommending the property and the prompt correspondence with Gwyneth when booking.

  • Great cottage with many special touches. Everything you could need is provided in the cottage. Could not have had a better experience.

    Cayce2019-12-05T00:00:00Z
  • This was the nicest little place we have stayed, would definitely come back.

    Becca2019-11-29T00:00:00Z
  • A warm welcome from owners who are attentive to needs yet also respectful of privacy. It's a cosy traditional space and although compact with regard to the shower facility and kitchen it is a more than functional space and being able to watch TV in bed is a luxury! Appreciated the little touches of flowers, candles and eggs from the resident hens and ducks and being able to watch the wildbirds at the feeders. I would stay again (if they'll have me!).

    Barbara2019-11-22T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place! Although I did not get a chance to meet Alan we communicated through chat and everything was as expected.

  • What a cute cottage close to Lakenheath and the Thetford forest. Loved having a kitchen, washer/dryer, great heating throughout house, wood burning fireplace, and comfortable twin beds. Place can sleep 4-6 but there’s only 1 bathroom which for me was perfect! I also had a little sink in the roo With the twin beds which was perfect for teeth-brushing. Go to Joseph’s for an awesome pizza on the high street, veg or non-veg! and say “hi” to friendly Mark when buying your veggies at rhe thurs and sat am farmer’s market a 3 min walk feom the cottage. And i loved being close To Brandon County Park with many guided hikes. Amazon packages can be delivered to the “the big factory store” down the street.

This little Studio Apartment is fully equipped to offer a base to explore the surrounding area.
It is a small village and no pub or shop for 4 miles. please make sure to bring some provisions with you !
