  • I had a wonderful time at martins place. The check- in was easy, the communication was perfect and everything was super clean. The house is a little far from the City Centre, but there’s a good bus connection.

  • Good value for a stay in a well appointed modern Galway home

    Vincenz2019-12-05T00:00:00Z
  • Had a lovely stay at Martin’s place. Everything I needed was there, it was a nice and cosy place to spend the beginning of winter and a week exploring Galway.

    Clare2019-12-03T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice private room and great bed, right next to the bathroom, good shower. Coffee and cereal for breakfast everyday made going out for busy touring easier. Martin is a great host, very friendly and personable. It's a beautiful house. You will need to walk and wait for buses to and from the city center, which didn't seem to run too frequently, but otherwise it was a great Airbnb spot. You'll only need one bus to the city center and that drops you off at Eyre Square, and once you're there, you're set for fun and exploring. All in all, a good experience. I recommend this location.

Bright, spacious apartment on 1st floor of a quiet complex. Ample private car parking to the rear. 2 bedrooms with comfortable Queen size beds & each bedroom has a private bathroom & shower. Travel cot suitable for an infant under 18 mths. Location is not in Galway city centre (4km away) but Salthill prom is 2.5km. Perfect for touring Connemara. Bus stop 20 metres, regular service to city centre. 2 shopping centres 6 minutes walk. Local pub and hotel with live music & good food.
9 out of 10 visitors I've ever asked, repeatedly respond the same way when Galway is mentioned...."Galway was lovely and we were sorry that we didn't spend more time there". A couple of the main reasons quoted are that it's a beautiful vibrant city but also that geographically it's strategically situated to be able to visit so many beautiful and diverse places of interest and still return in one day.
  • Very good place, very quick responses, very clean apartment. Easy check-in process the apartment is better than what we were expecting. Was a perfect fit for us, a family with 2 children, in an excellent location, close to supermarkets, and local stores to get a coffee or something like that. Really recommended by us! Thank you so much!

  • Des’s place was great! Super convenient location, comfortable beds, cute apt. We would definitely stay again.

    Sue2019-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • Des' place had everything we needed. We were even able to do a load of laundry and dry on the provided drying rack, as well as iron our clothes. It's quite spacious with comfortable beds, a nice balcony, and easy parking - also super clean! We were driving so the location was perfect for us - short drive into Galway center or about a 10 euro taxi ride. Great location for a day trip to Kylemore Abbey and Conemarra. The apartment is located up one flight of stairs, which was perfect for my mom who has some issues with mobility (one flight is her max). We didn't get to meet Des in person (he was in Italy), but he had great communication and was very understanding. I completely got the dates wrong that we booked and thought we had one more night to stay. I didn't realize my mistake until that afternoon when I got a text about the cleaners needing to get in, and we were located about an hour and a half away sightseeing. He had every right to be extremely upset with us, but he was still very kind and understanding with his responses. He seems like a genuinely very kind man.

    Ramona2019-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Des' apartment. It's comfortable, convenient and really clean. Des was great with his responses, helpful and quick! Thanks again Des! A great first Air bnb experience! Cheers Des!

    Lorraine2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Great apartment, clean, comfortable, near bus 411, and super market. Des is generous and leaves plenty of food available. Only small problem little bus on Saturday even less on Sunday, apartment 5 kms from Galway center.

    Yvette2019-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • We arrived on a rainy night and were thrilled to find a great pub just around the corner. We were able to make use of the washing machine to do a load while we were there. It was a short drive to salt hill promenade which was a great spot for a morning jog and an easy drive to the town centre.

    Emily2019-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • Ideal apartment for a stay in Galway and its region. Owner very friendly, very attentive. Very spacious apartment (large living room, 2 large bedrooms each with a bathroom), very clean and very well equipped (coffee and tea available, towels, ...). Apartment to recommend.

  • Fionn is a very welcoming host, available and concerned about the well-being of his guests. She greatly facilitated our stay in Galway through small attentions (breakfast 5 stars, parking space, advice visits ...). The room and the bathroom are spacious, comfortable and very clean. The location allowed us to visit the Burren, Achill Island and Connemara regions. A very good address, thank you Fionn!

    Lauriane2019-10-17T00:00:00Z
  • Fionn is a warmest host I have ever met in Ireland. She really made us feel at home. Everthing is perfectly good, suited room full of cute details. She also prepared energed breadfast for us. 100% recommend.

    Augustin2019-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Fionn is really a warm host and a great help for its visitors. She is good advice and gives a good boost to discover the region. The accommodation is well located: the bus stop is close and takes you to the city center in about twenty minutes. The room is spacious and nice and the breakfast rich and quality.

    Laetitia2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • We have been in Ireland many times and met a lot of nice people but never have we met such a warm, helpful, kind woman as Fionn. She made our stay in Galway something else. She picked us up in the station, made us wonderful breakfast, gave us peace of good advice about everything - she really made her home our home for a week. If you go to Galway be sure you're staying at Fionns place. The house is well situated just close to the bus stop and in a quiet area. The room is sweet and very clean and the bathroom is huge. All in all just somethin else - 100% perfect.

    Dorte2019-08-20T00:00:00Z

  • Martin was an amazing host and his home was beautiful and very clean!

    Evan2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • This location is perfect if you are interested in being close to Galway City (only about 10 mins). Martin was quick with his responses and his home was just what we needed for a few nights. He has a few bedrooms he rented out so I was afraid it may get crowded in bathroom and loud, but it was like no one else was there! Side note for directions: the GPS may take you to the front of the road(not directly to the house) just keep driving to the back of the neighborhood and you will find it! Overall a very positive stay with Martin! Thank you!

    Theresa2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • It was very nice with Martin. We felt very comfortable. Check in worked perfectly.

    Niamh2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Martin's was a great place to stay. We were welcomed like house members and the facilities were great - especially the snazzy coffee maker! Bus transport into town was easy and Joyce's supermarket just a few minutes' walk away was very convenient.

    Fran & Andy2020-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • We spent one week in this lovely room. The house is beautiful and cozy and Martin was a great host. Everything was perfect. There are great restaurants and Pubs around the corner. Highly recommend!

    Nadja2019-12-17T00:00:00Z
  • Martin's place felt really like Home away from home. He and his partner were wonderful and very welcoming.. Galway is so relaxing and full of nice energy, and I'm sorry I haven't booked at least one more day.

    Jasmina2019-12-03T00:00:00Z
  • A cozy little loft in Knocknacarra with full kitchen access. It's a bit far from the middle of town, but it's near a bus stop with resonably good bus service. A well-stocked Joyce's supermarket that's open late is less than 10-minutes walk away. Good wifi. The only small downside is that the shared bathroom is down a flight of stairs. A good value, overall!

Situated in a lovely safe and quiet location, just as the city meets the country. It's a 10/15 minute drive into the city centre and a 10 minute walk from our house to the bus stop. Spacious bedroom with a large, comfortable King size bed. A new A energy rated house with filtered air. Private en suite - modern, clean bathroom. Tea/coffee making facilities in the bedroom. Free parking in driveway.
  • Clean, quiet, fresh space that's easy to find once you have the right bus stop. Ger was very welcoming the entire experience and very understanding when we had a few key troubles. Lovely spot and I would fully recommend if you don't mind taking a bus out of the city centre to get to and from.

  • Ger's place is lovely, nice house, great location as very close to city and sea as well, parking in the driveway, fantastic check in and check out (self- check in), great communication, Ger gave me few tips on vegan places to eat, thank you so much! Had great stay!

  • Aside from a small issue (just finding her home), this was a great stay. It is outside of Galway city limits, but it’s an easy 10 minute drive. It is a lovely, clean, quiet, and modern place. We had a fantastic chat with Ger, a comfortable sleep, and a nice, hot shower.

The house is detached on the west side of the City, very close to Salthill, which is our local beach and lovely promenade, Salthill has many eateries and activities to offer, Galway City Center is only a 15 minute drive or indeed a very pleasant walk. Our house is a lovely comfortable bright modern home. We live opposite the Clybaun Hotel and very close to a popular shopping Center. The Guests have the use of a separate sitting room from the family which gives them privacy if they so wish.
Due to the size of our home, there is plenty of space to avoid guests feeling they are on top of the family when they would like to have their own space. The house is full light that creates a "good feel factor" . Our guests can help themselves to a Continental breakfast. Our home is great for couples, solo travelers and as I have other rooms available great for small groups travelling together ( 6/8) with their own rooms and bathrooms.
Our home is situated in a residential & well maintained neighborhood, all owner occupied. There is a park quite close to the house ( Cappagh) should one need some outdoor exercise which takes them through the very popular Barna Woods. If our guests have children, there is also a children's park in the area. We have a lovely local Bar & Restaurant- Sheridan's which is a short walk away and great for a meal and drinks.
  • Lovely home, very private bedroom and bathroom both very clean and comfortable. Welcoming guest who was helpful, gave a great local pub recommendation, and could help ourselves to breakfast. We had a car so drove into the city about 10 minutes but there is a nearby bus stop too. Highly recommend if you want a quiet, nice and comfortable base for your trip to Galway.

  • This is a fabulous apartment with stunning views. It was very clean and very well equipped. We did not meet the host as it was self check-in using a key safe. We were sent comprehensive instructions on how to access the building prior to our arrival. Our only slight niggle was that the apartment was freezing on arrival and there were no instructions on how to operate the heating system. We got is sorted out eventually but it would have been nice to arrive to a warm apartment and it was toasty warm once we got it going.

  • Beautiful penthouse, is even bigger in person photos don't do it justice! Great host and no complaints here! Just be careful if you park in the car park, we had a storm and I had to move my car as car park gets flooded, if I didn't the water would have been to window level. There is also a Pizza restaurant near the supermarket. There is a deli service in the supermarket so you can get sandwiches made, or get a take away dinner for eating back at the house. The sea front is only a 5 min drive from the house, and it's lovely to take a walk on our promenade. Salthill, which is where the beach is, is also a lovely area to visit and there are lots of places to eat there, and of course there is O'Connor's pub which is very popular with tourists.
  • The best place I have ever lived in. Lovely room. Close to the bus stop, and a few minutes walk to the seaside. Miriam is very friendly and easygoing, always willing to help you. Had a really lovely time there.

  • The room is a bit on the small side, but everything is immaculate, as is the bathroom. The breakfast is also fine! Miriam has made it work to help the guests on their way with many tips and signage. She even drops her guests in the city if she just needs to be there. Nothing is too much for her!

  • Miriam was perfect for me and my Girlfriends for two nights. We arrived quite late but that was no problem. The House itself is very clean and the room perfect for two people. The kitchen is equipped with everything a kitchen needs. Additionally Miriam prepares a really nice breakfast to start the day! Eventhough we couldn't talk much with Miriam we would always come back to Galway and stay with her! Highly recommend this place

Located directly opposite Salthill Promenade, the apartment overlooks the sea from all rooms with garden area and seating. Of course I am biased but this is one of the most picturesque places to live in Galway. While just off the main road, the location is quiet but central, with all amenities within walking distance for most travellers. If you are planning a day trip to the Aran Islands, the bus passes by here, and you can arrange pick up across the road when booking.
The apartment is located on the ground floor with full view of the sea and access from guest bedroom also out onto the patio and lawn. If you like to have a window open at night time or are a light sleeper, then you might want to have earplugs. Personally I don't notice the traffic noise and I keep the window closed. Weather permitting there are deck chairs to sit out and have a coffee in the morning or relax on arrival and enjoy the sunset. The ensuite has a power shower.
While Salthill is a busy location during the summer season, I am situated just past the promenade in a quiet residential setting overlooking Galway Bay.

  • Best B&B I have had the opportunity to test. Its luxury is not an extraordinary decoration but comfort! There are real cupboards, a dressing table (not only practical in everyday life but especially there is a regular place for our belongings, which do not drag), a plaid in which to wrap between the radiator and the false fireplace. We felt very good, we could have stayed there much longer. The location is really great, near the beautiful Latin Quarter.

  • Fionnuala's place is very private, with a super comfy, bed and pillows. The shower is hot with plenty of water pressure, just brilliant. It is situated in a quiet neighborhood but still close enough to cafes and restaurants. Highly recommended.

  • Really cute little guest house in a nice neighbourhood. Close to the sea and to Salthill.

  • Perfect for a couple, at the back of the owners house, in a residential area of the suburb of Galway, but close enough to the center (20min walk).

  • As stated by other travelers, the pictures do not do justice to this charming place. It was very homey and private. Perfect size for my husband & I. Lovely, safe neighborhood and very quiet at night.

Light airy house with lovely sun drenched garden minutes from Silver Strand and Barna Woods. House is across the road from Bus Stop which brings you into Galway city in 10 minutes by bus or car. There is a lovely playground within 10 minutes walk. It is a 5 minutes drive from the beautiful seaside village of Barna with lots of lovely restaurants. For those who wish to explore Connemara it is a 20 minute drive to Spiddal and other lovely coastal towns en route to Clifden and beyond.
  • There was a problem with the hot water supply. Although I responded at 0700 in the morning, people were already on the doorstep fifteen minutes later to solve the problem. And 2 hours later with a delicious chocolate cake to apologize ... great address nice and clean

  • We enjoyed our time in this area. The hosts were kind to recommend areas for lunch and dinner and were accommodating with check in since we came during their working hours. The house was clean and beautiful and we enjoyed cooking and playing cards at the table late into the evening. We enjoyed having a yard area for the kids to run around in and instructions for the shower and washer were clearly posted and easy to understand. Great home near Galway!

  • We were in August 2019 as a small tour group, consisting of 2 adults and 2 children in Galway. The accommodation is a bit out of the city center, but easy to reach by public bus. The stop "Cappagh Road / Ros Ard" is in the immediate vicinity of the accommodation. A small shop, open until 10pm, is also near the bus stop. In a few minutes you can reach the beach on foot. Already in advance, the communication with the host Uwe was excellent. We got lots of tips for activities in and around Galway. The accommodation itself is very quiet in a small residential area and is ideal for a family or friends, everything is there what you need, from enough towels to games for the kids. The property also has a beautiful and well-kept garden. Everything in the property was spotless and well maintained. The host Uwe was always ready, that his guests feel comfortable, and was always with words and deeds on the spot. We would like to thank Uwe sincerely for his hospitality and hope to come back to Galway someday.

  • We stayed in 5 in this house is we both enjoyed the very quiet and comfortable area because there is a parking space in front of the house is all the necessary accessories in the home. The owners are always available for any eventuality and respond as soon as possible. The house is exactly as it is described in photos. Highly recommended.
