  • Wonderful relaxing space about 15 minutes outside of Kingham. We had grand plans around the Cotswolds but the space was so cosy and inviting we loved being inside with the Fire! For winging and dining The Wild Rabbit and Kingham Plough are a must as well as The Chequers in Churchill. We enjoyed buying all our food for the weekend from Daylesford which is gorgeous and the kitchen in the apartment has everything you would need. Further afield Burford Garden centre is a must as well as the lovely villages of Broadway, The Slaughters, Bibury and Stanton.

It contains a king size divan bed, a large cupboard with a hanging rail and an Ottoman with two drawers. The Velux window overlooks the garden below and has a blackout curtain; Bedroom 2: At the opposite end of the landing is the second bedroom which has two single divan beds, an Ottoman with two drawers and a cupboard for storage. The garden is accessed via the back door which opens onto a patio area with smart Rattan armchairs and a matching glass-topped table. Mostly laid to lawn, the garden is bordered by attractive shrubs and fragrant lavender, and two mature trees provide shade in the sunshine. A charcoal barbecue is available in the summer months as well. This attractive outdoor space is fully enclosed, however, young children and dogs should be supervised at all times. The cottage has parking space for two cars in the carport and further on-street parking is available in the village.
Voted "England's Favourite Village" in 2004 by Country Life magazine, Kingham is a beautiful, unspoilt Cotswold village, with a large open green and some elegant stone and thatch cottages, mostly dating from the 17th and 18th centuries. It is situated in the Evenlode valley, a short drive from the well known Cotswold market towns of Stow-on-the-Wold and Chipping Norton. There has been a church on the site of St. Andrew's Church for at least 900 years, although the present building is a mixture of ages. The font is 13th century, the Perpendicular Gothic tower 15th century, the nave roof is dated 1774 and the rest of the church was remodelled in 1851-3. The church also has a fine old rectory, built in the 17th century. Kingham has two highly regarded pubs, a village shop and is just a mile away from Daylesford Organic, which is well known for its organic food, cookery school and spa. Kingham is also the only village in the Cotswolds that is served by a main line railway station, which provides regular services to London Paddington station. Food & Drink Kingham is fortunate to be blessed with two of the best village pubs in the whole of the Cotswolds, as well as a welcoming hotel, and is just a mile away from the well known Daylesford Organic Farm: The Wild Rabbit (www.thewildrabbit.co.uk): Owned by Lord and Lady Bamford, and described as "the poshest pub in Britain", the Wild Rabbit has been totally refurbished and boasts a total of three real fires in its dining room and separate bar. The menu reflects the seasons and celebrates everything that is great about local produce. All ingredients are carefully selected for their quality and are organic, where possible; The Kingham Plough (www.thekinghamplough.co.uk): The Kingham Plough has established a well deserved reputation as an outstanding dining pub and has deservedly been recognised by numerous awards bestowed by various different bodies. The modern British food is inspirational, not your ordinary Gastro-Pub menu, where everything is prepared from scratch by a team of skilled chefs. Headed by chef-owner Emily Watkins and head chef Ben Dulley, the menu offers an exciting take on English classics. The kitchen is dedicated to making the most of the carefully sourced local ingredients and everything from the charcuterie to the baked beans in the award winning breakfast is proudly made by hand. Kingham also has a village store, selling a wide range of everyday products, including fresh items, beers, wines and spirits, groceries and confectionery. There are regular farmers' markets held in the village, throughout the year.
  • A relaxing setting in a beautful part of the Cotswolds. The living space is comfortable and makes relaxing very easy, the beds are also very comfortable and the propery is very clean. Two pubs within walking distance, we visited both and had great food in both.

  • Very centrally located in Kingham and very charming. The house is small and the ceilings in the bedrooms are quite low, but overall it was everything we needed. Nice heated floors in the bathroom.

  • If you're considering booking The Old Smithy, don't hesitate! It's full of charm and old-world character with all the modern touches you could need. The shower is fantastic and the log burner works a treat creating a wonderful cosy atmosphere! Kingham itself is the quintessential Cotswolds village benefitting from two amazing pubs...we can highly recommend both; we frequented both for dinner and The Kingham Plough does a fantastic breakfast and is only two minutes walk away! If you do decide to stay in the area we can also highly recommend Dalesford Farm, we found a reason to drop in every day of our stay...either for tea and cake, picking up some fantastic food or for breakfast on our last day before setting off home. We can't wait to return soon!!

  • The Old Smithy is small but perfectly formed and has everything you need. We had stayed a few times in this area and it is definitely one of the best. Very clean and well presented. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend - in fact we have already done so!

Stay warm within thick stone walls by stoking a wood burner nestled under a sturdy timber mantel. Wake up to views of a picturesque village from a bedroom window. Brew espresso in a modernised kitchen and drink it at a bistro table in the garden.
Grade II listed and built around 1700, Westward Cottage has been renovated, furnished and equipped to a high standard. Wait a moment while you're making your way to the front door and, weather permitting, the subtle smell of lavender and the gentle drone of bees will fill the air around you. *Note: The cottage is currently being decorated ready for rental - further (better) photos to follow!* On the ground floor, there is a small but cosy lounge containing a traditional log burner and a luxury Mulberry fabric sofa together with access to Netflix, Apple TV and a Sonos sound system. Similarly, the kitchen maintains a traditional look whilst being equipped with mod-cons such as a Bosch dishwasher, SMEG appliances and a KitchenAid coffee machine. There is a small but pretty garden space to the back of the cottage with just enough room for a table for two. The first flight of stairs leads on to the first bedroom containing some charming traditional features and a luxury double mattress as well as the bathroom with a cosy bath and shower. Please mind your head when showering! The second bedroom is up a further flight of stairs in the loft and comes equipped with a wall mounted TV, Apple TV, a Sonos sound system and a luxury King sized mattress nestled under the eaves of a giant log beam. There is also access to an outbuilding towards the back of the property which contains a washing machine and separate dryer as well as ample space for storing logs and muddy boots. Please note that the cottage is typical of its time and has a few quirks you will need to be mindful of, namely low ceilings and wooden beams (mind your head when entering the front door, kitchen and when showering, for example!) and a relatively steep main staircase…but I think you will agree that this all adds to its crooked and traditional charm. Space in the lounge area and back garden mean that whilst it is more than comfortable to host up to four people, the cottage is perhaps most ideal when occupied by two. There are a number of other of cottages available in very close proximity to Westward cottage (including immediately next door) which could be booked simultaneously, subject to availability. I hope you get a chance to visit Westward cottage and will do all I can to make your stay a happy one!
Westward Cottage is in the village of Kingham, voted the UK's best village by Country Life magazine for its blend of quaint houses, beautiful village green, 14th-century church, and award winning-pubs. Endless nature walks begin at the doorstep.
  • Lovely little cottage, well located in a beautiful area. Has everything you need for a stay and the log burner makes it even more cosy! Parking is easy on the road outside.

  • A lovely cottage in such a good location. We stayed in winter and it was very warm. An easy walk to Daylesford Farm and the Wild Rabbit is literally at the end of the street. The Kingham Plough was great also. Katrina gave lots of helpful tips for walks and places to explore. The house is very thoughtfully arranged, and has a fireplace in the living area. Would definitely go back.

    Caitlin2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful rustic cottage in a lovely little village. Close to a great pub (The Plough) where we had a really reasonable meal. No doors to any bedrooms so have to be fairly comfortable with people you stay with but no issue at all.

    Rosa2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely bijou place to stay

    Matthew2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • We came here for my girlfriends birthday having never been to the Cotswolds. The place was lovely to stay in and just what we were looking for. In walking distance of Kingham Plough and Wild Rabbit and a short ride from a number of other villages so we were able to get the perfect feel for the Cotswolds as a whole. We are already thinking about when to come back!

    Ben2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely cottage , very cozy with the added advantage of being within walking distance to of excellent pubs/ restaurants. Absolutely no need to cook !

    Anthony2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Quite simply one of the best Airbnbs we've ever stayed in, and Katrina is the host that all hosts should aspire to be like!

    Jonny2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • This is a cozy little cottage and gives a sense of the size of the cotswolds dwellings. It is very well appointed. Ideal for couples , too small for a family. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Kingham is within easy reach of all the Cotswold towns as well as being ideally placed to explore further afield to Oxford, Cheltenham and Stratford on Avon.
This is a self contained annexe to the main house situated in beautiful surroundings. We offer a comfortable double bedroom with all bed linen and access to a wardrobe and drawers. There is a huge sitting room with relaxing sofas and a good collection of DVDs. We have recently upgraded our kitchen area to include a full sized oven and 2 ring hob. We provide tea, coffee and milk but we do not provide cooked breakfast (we have had guests ask about this in the past)! Our bathroom has a shower, plenty of towels and complimentary toiletries.

  • Great Location next to some very good foodie pubs within a short drive/train ride from lots of beautiful typical Cotswold walks and villages. Also it's a very well put together private garden room right next to the countryside. Can highly recommend for a cosy getaway in a sleepy area

  • The Garden Room made for a perfect weekend in the Cotswolds. It's location is great, centred between many visitors spots and the place itself has so many thoughtful touches and all the amenities you could need! Would definitely recommend and stay again.

  • A beautiful stylish private space in this idyllic village- great communication and excellent instructions to easily self check in and be at home within minutes- so warm and cosy on arrival on the coldest and wettest weekend of the year so far. Lots of thoughtful touches, very comfortable bed and linens. Beautiful secluded garden space. Perfect weekend retreat-thank you!!

  • We stayed in Nasar's garden room for 2 nights. We found the place was spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated throughout. I especially liked the extra touches I.e. the refreshments and toiletries provided. The husband was impressed with the very up to date DVD collection! The area was very quiet and we enjoyed a lovely meal at the nearby Plough Inn. We also met the host briefly who was very welcoming and helpful. The only slight downside was having to park at the front and walk round to the back to access the property. However, this would not put me off staying here again and I would definitely recommend the place to anyone wanting to stay in the Cotswolds.

  • Fantastic location in a very cute accommodation. Excellent instructions to locate the place too. Would not hesitate to go again!

Cosy Cotswolds cottage with detached garden and small patio. There is a wood burner with free logs as well as central heating and electric blankets. The kitchen area has a dishwasher and there is a washing machine and small freezer. The cottage is very well equipped - a home from home - and essentials are provided. Kingham is a lovely village with two gastro pubs, a church and a village shop / post office. The cottage is just by a bridleway. The bathroom is downstairs and stairs are steep!
The cottage includes a living/ dining room with a kitchen area. The bathroom is downstairs with a shower over the bath. There are two bedrooms upstairs, one twin room and one king size. The stairs are short but steep so not recommended for very young children or the infirm. There is a patio and a secluded garden detached from the cottage.
The cottage is on the bridle way to Daylesford and 5 minutes walk from the local shop and post office. There are gastro pubs in the village and lots more places to eat in local villages or in Chipping Norton or Stow. It is great walking country but also within easy reach of attractions like Burford and Blenheim Palace.
  • Super location. Cottage exactly as described. Great communication. Every amenity we could require. Cost is a perfect description and we loved the log burner!

  • This is a well-equipped and appointed cottage in one of the prettiest Cotswold villages. The landlords live next door and reacted speedily and quickly to a problem with a broken water-pump, even though it was the middle of the Christmas holidays. Highly recommended.

A traditional single-story cottage from the outside, this vibrant home comes to life as soon as you step inside, filled to the brim with eye-catching artwork, bright pops of colour and unique furnishings; all sourced from owners Adam and Rowan’s private, personally-collated collection of quirky international artefacts. Light, bright spaces sweep throughout the property thanks to its many skylights and windows, with 7 bedrooms sleeping up to 14 guests comfortably, including two bedrooms specifically kitted-out for younger guests. It even benefits from a separate studio annex, great for teens or those who simply want their own space. The hub of the home comes courtesy of the spacious kitchen/dining/living space found just off the entrance hall, boasting a well-equipped kitchen, quirky living space with sofas and TV, cosy wood-burner and huge floor-to-ceiling sliding doors; expertly blending indoor/outdoor living by offering direct access onto the pretty outdoor dining veranda. Kids and big-kids alike have plenty of room to burn off energy thanks to the mature one-acre garden that sweeps around the property, with the hottest new-kid-on-the-culinary-block, Kingham, offering foodies the perfect dining destination just a 5-minute drive away. The Living Space The cottage’s contemporary-cool feel hits you as soon as you enter the bright reception hall, with walls filled-to-the-brim with a mixture of eclectic artwork- many of which are owner Rowan’s own works- greeting you as you step into the light-filled space. Just off the hallway sit the cottage’s two main living areas: a cosy snug, complete with log fire, sink-in sofas and vibrant purple walls (plus a cleverly-concealed TV) and an impressive adjoining living/kitchen/dining space spanning the rear of the cottage. This spacious open-plan hub boasts a stylish 10-seater oak dining table (plus a cute 4-seater table for little ones), high vaulted ceilings, beautiful floor-to-ceiling glass doors and a comfy lounge area at the far end; complete with TV and crackling wood-burner. The well-equipped kitchen benefits from a triple oven, gas hob, large American-style fridge and dishwasher, brought to life by vivid green cupboards and quirky mosaic tiles. Leading through the living space at the far end is a separate annexed studio area, perfect for overspill, complete with sofas, wood-burner, 4-seater dining table and kitchenette. Carrying on the impressive contemporary-meets-traditional feel of the property, this additional studio space homes a hidden attic single bedroom- found at the top of a quirky built-in staircase- plus a fully-equipped shower room and toilet, making it great for teens or older guests in search of a little privacy. Bedrooms 7 bedrooms can be found throughout the property, sleeping up to 10 adults and 4 children comfortably: Master Bedroom Tucked away down a book-lined corridor along from the entrance hall is the Master Bedroom, benefitting from a sink-in super king bed, en-suite shower room and French doors opening directly onto the property’s sheltered front garden. In here, the owners’ passion for art shines through the painted mural wall behind the bed; hand-painted by owner Rowan as an homage to her family home in southern India. A stand-alone crib also fits comfortably at the foot of bed for those travelling with babies. Bedroom 2 Found through a unique stable-door just off the entrance hall, Bedroom 2 homes a king-sized bed (configurable as a twin) and bright, Moroccan-inspired interiors, evident through its sparkling lantern lights, cool blue hues and pretty, tiled wardrobe. We love the roll-top bath taking pride of place in the room itself, plus there’s a handy en-suite toilet room, too. Bedrooms 3 - 5 Hidden behind a secret cupboard door in the entrance hall sit three further bedrooms, all benefitting from their own shared family bathroom. Bedroom 3 is great for adults, with its king-sized bed and French doors leading directly onto the garden, whilst Bedroom 4 can be used for big kids or those who don’t mind sharing thanks to its twin-bed setup. Bedroom 5 is definitely best for younger guests, with full-sized bunk beds, a great toy collection and plenty of space for playing, plus its own set of French doors leading onto the grounds. Bedroom 6 A den-lover’s dream, Bedroom 6 is perfect for younger guests or adults who don’t mind a bit of a squeeze. Able to accommodate up to two guests on two mattress-beds (one single, one small double), one is hidden in the rafters up a small wooden ladder; perfect for mini-explorers in search of a hideaway. Located just off the entrance hall, the Rudyard Kipling-esque wallpaper will speak to book-lovers of all ages and it’s perfect to use as a study for those who need a little peace and quiet. Studio Bedroom Another great room for intrepid explorers, this small annex room, sleeping one on a single mattress-bed, is hidden away up a flight of steep wooden stairs in the studio; great for teens and agile adults, not so great for those less mobile. The studio also homes a sofa bed which can accommodate two if needed. Be warned, the sky lights have no blinds on them, so it’s best for early-risers! What’s Outside Brock Cottage offers blissful seclusion by the bucketful thanks to its rural location and sweeping one-acre garden, surrounding the property like a pretty, green cocoon. Mostly lawned (great for kids wanting to stretch their legs), mature trees and shrubbery reward the garden with complete privacy, with a trampoline and swing to keep little ones happy for hours. The cottage’s rear garden, accessed through the kitchen/diner’s sliding doors, also benefits from a large paved dining area complete with outdoor dining table and charcoal BBQ; sheltered from the elements by a wisteria-strewn pergola.
Eating Brock Cottage is located just a short 5-minute drive from the village of Kingham, renowned as the Cotswolds’ newest foodie hotspot thanks to its two excellent, award-winning restaurants - The Kingham Plough and The Wild Rabbit Inn – both well worth a visit. The King’s Head in Bledington offers tasty, seasonal food in a picture-perfect setting just a 2-minute car journey (or slightly longer walk) from Brock Cottage, whilst high-end hangout and favourite of the jet-set, Daylesford Farmshop and Café, is also just an 8-minute car journey, with a delicious all-day dining menu. For those wanting to venture slightly further afield, we’d highly recommend a visit to Stow-on-the-Wold, a pretty market town just 5 miles down the road that packs a punch when it comes to culinary credentials. Check out The Porch House, a 10th century inn in the heart of the town with good beer and a great lunch menu, before heading to The Old Butchers for dinner; a Michelin Guide must-visit where pre-booking is definitely recommended. Walking Somewhat of a walker’s paradise, you’re spoiled for choice when it comes to exploring the Cotswolds on foot from Brock Cottage. The cottage itself sits within Foxholes Nature Reserve, awarding stunning woodland walks right from the doorstep, bursting to life with carpets of bluebells in the Spring. The Oxfordshire Way- winding all the way from Bourton-on-the-Water to the banks of the River Thames in Henley- also passes directly through Foscot; a great option for those keen to join the trail. We’d recommend the 6-mile round-trip from Foscot to Churchill, passing through streams and meadows with a handy stop-off at The Chequers pub for delicious sustenance half-way round. Must-Sees The Cotswolds is jam-packed full of attractions to keep visitors of all ages entertained. For younger guests, a visit to Cotswold Farm Park (20-minute drive) and Cotswold Wildlife Park (20-minute drive) are a must, with the Cotswold Water Park (40-minute drive) the perfect place to head on hot-weather days. For older generations, Chastleton House National Trust property is just 15 minutes away, and we’d recommend that no visit to this area be without a day exploring the pretty surrounding market towns of Stow-on-the-Wold and Bourton-on-the-Water; both renowned for their quaint independent stores, cutesy-cafés and quintessentially-Cotswolds good looks. Daylesford Farmshop and Café is also a must-visit - a beautiful destination store in its own right - crammed to the brim with high-end, artisan produce, delicious deli treats and an impressive restaurant. Just be sure to allow a few hours there; we don’t know anyone who hasn’t been mesmerised by this country-chic hangout.

  • The cottage is amazing! It is clean, tidy and spacious with plenty of beautifully decorated bedrooms and living rooms. My family enjoyed the stay very much. It is perfect for a big family or a group of friends! It is a bit difficult to find the place (it is like a teasure hunt for us!) but once you find the way it is pretty easy to navigate in that area.

  • Thank you for a wonderful stay in this beautiful space. I hosted my three day yoga retreat here and it was perfect. The kitchen was very well stocked, the items around the home were beautiful and so stylish! The big Windows overlooking the trees in the garden were a perfect meditation and yoga view! We had a problem with the heating one night but Adam was super quick to resolve this, communication was great. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone especially families as the kids facilities were great. An added bonus was the punching bag and equipment which meant I could do an exercise class there also! Was a lot of fun and the area is beautiful. I will definitely be using this space again for future retreats and events.

Great little village, nestling in the very hart of the Cotswold's, one of England's areas of outstanding natural beauty and historic significance, there is a local village shop/post office, were you can get cash back over the counter, 3 great places to eat or just have a drink, all have nice outside spaces to enjoy in the sunshine and log fires, lovely village green with small play area and public transport. SO A CAR IS NOT ABSOLUTLY NECESSARY.

On the edge of a quiet, quintessential English village, this spacious 4 bedroom house (with pool!) is the perfect pace to relax and explore Cotswolds country. The village itself offers two award winning pub / restaurants (Wild Rabbit and Plough - 5-10 minute walk to both) and the local area is a hotspot for great walks, stunning scenery and places to visit (Blenheim Palace, Moreton-in-Marsh, Bourton-on-the-Water, Chipping Camden, Broadway, Chipping Norton, Charlbury and Burford to name a few!)
To note: the house has just been redecorated so we're waiting for updated photos to show all the rooms. The house boasts: - 4 double bedrooms (one which can be used as a twin on request) - a huge open-plan living area encompassing the kitchen (with breakfast island), dining area and sun room, as well as a lounge that can be part of the living space or separated off with a sliding divider-wall to create a cosy snug in-front of the fire - perfect for those winter nights! The sun room and dining area look out onto a large garden (with swing!) that is also home to a 7m heated pool (only available to use in the summer months). There are three bathrooms in the property (including one en-suite) and the master bedroom also has its own bath. The entire home benefits from underfloor heating, which is always on, so the place is toasty on the feet at all times. Cotswolds Country House has recently been redecorated so has a fresh, modern feel that is sympathetic to traditional local styles.

  • Lovely spacious accommodation and great location for access to the Cotswolds. This was a great place to relax in for a couple of days while we were visiting for a wedding.

  • I’d booked for a family get together and the house was perfect for the 7 of us. We made great use of the kitchen and dining areas in particular and had good enough weather to sit out on the patio in the early evening. The decor and furniture is a really good balance of comfortable and stylish, and we particularly liked the shower gel! It’s nice to have a hamper of breakfast and other goodies provided. Good straightforward communication with Ian too re arrival and recommendations/directions for walks from the village. Thanks!

  • Thank you for a great stay in your beautiful home, the team loved it! We'll definitely book again when next working in the area! Thank you

  • Beautiful house within walking distance to Kingham village and a five minute drive to Chipping Norton. The host was easy to contact and very quick to reply to any queries.

  • Ian’s place in Kingham is lovely, stylish and very spacious. There are four double bedrooms with lots of storage, large living areas and a well equipped open plan kitchen. Ian was very responsive and helped quickly sort out any issues, which was much appreciated. They also kindly left a great hamper to get us started, with breakfast and snacks. Kingham is a great location to explore the Cotswolds. There are some great pubs / shops nearby too - don’t miss The Wild Rabbit (book ahead!) and the Daylesford farm shop!

The simply stunning loft apartment is accessed by an external stone staircase and enters into a wonderfully light open plan space with limed oak flooring, beams and some interesting arts and crafts period furniture.
Guests have access to our beautiful indoor heated pool and Turkish hammam / steam room as well as tennis court and 5 acres of beautiful landscaped gardens. When you arrive there is a welcome pack of a freshly baked loaf of bread using flour from the local mill and some milk, butter and jam in the fridge.
Kingham village is a beautiful, quiet village which has found itself on the gastronomic map in recent years. The Kingham Plough is a fantastic gastro-pub who's owner/chef, Emily Watkins, was trained by Heston Blumenthal. On the same street is The Wild Rabbit, owned by Daylesford Organics which is in the next door village. Most surrounding villages have excellent pubs, particularly The Kings Head in Bledington and The Chequers in Churchill. Daylesford Spa and Farm Shop can be reached by car in 5 minutes or on foot up a farm track in 20 minutes. The Spa is regularly written up as one of the best in the UK and the farm shop is the best organic food around. There are multiple places to eat here including a large cafe / restaurant, pizzeria and seasonal additions in the form of mobile shepherds huts. It has to be seen to be believed! Kingham is in the Cotswolds, attracting tourists from around the world looking at the 'quaint' English architecture, rolling hills and beautiful towns and villages. Near by Stow-on-the-Wold is famous for its antique shops, Bourton-on-the-water for it's beautiful setting and many other local villages each with their own charm.

At the heart of the Cotswolds' famous 'golden triangle,' The Corner House is a Grade II listed, quintessential thatched cottage, built in 1544 and located in Kingham, voted “England’s Best Village.” It sleeps up to 7 guests in 4 bedrooms, has old-fashioned charm with mod cons, and is 2 mins walk from two award-winning gastro pubs and a great village shop. A mainline station takes you to the dreaming spires of Oxford or a wealth of other famous sights.
The Corner House is a real home from home, situated on a quiet cul-de-sac. You can host a fabulous dinner in the eat-in kitchen that seats 8, take a picturesque walk across the fields to the world-famous Daylesford farm shop, a 20 minute drive to Soho Farmhouse or simply curl up on one of the three squishy sofas in front of the open log fire. It's totally up to you. Downstairs, there's a large kitchen and separate living room, and a small utility room that leads out to a small rear patio. Upstairs are two double bedrooms, one with a double bed and one with a King size bed (both with wardrobes,) a single bedroom and a bathroom with large bath and hand-held shower. There is another large bedroom with King size bed and en-suite shower room with his and hers basins. At the front of the cottage is a small garden with covered well, and the main garden (designed by Marion Ackrill of Chelsea Physic Garden) has a table and 8 chairs and is accessed across a small footpath outside the front door. There is a washer dryer in the house - NO FEE. It should also be noted that as this is a thatched cottage, there is a strict NO BBQ policy which must be adhered to at ALL times. Thank you.
The Michelin-starred Wild Rabbit pub/restaurant is two minutes walk away, and so is the award-winning Kingham Plough. At both, you can either book a table for lunch or dinner, or simply enjoy delicious snacks in the bar areas. The famous, original Daylesford farm shop is a five minute drive, or you can use a pair of provided wellies and take a healthy, 15 minute walk there across the fields at the back of the cottage. Aside from the world class farm shop, there's a really buzzy restaurant there, a garden centre, a clothes shop and a beautiful spa for facials, massages etc. The picturesque Stow on the Wold is just four miles away, while Broadway, Cirencester, Woodstock and Stratford-upon-Avon are between a 30 and 40 minute drive through gorgeous scenery. You can also easily reach attractions like Blenheim Palace, Tewkesbury Abbey, the Cotswold Wildlife Park and Gardens, the Royal Gardens at Highgrove in Tetbury (owned by Prince Charles) and Sudeley Castle. The area is known for the quality and beauty of its walks, and there are several paths that run through the village, including routes to Stow on the Wold, Bledington, Chipping Norton and Churchill.
  • The cottage was perfect for our family get together. Full of character, comfortable and a fantastic spacious living room and kitchen area. Aside from the master bedroom (which is very large) the other bedrooms are a little snug but this just added to the charm. Jill was a great host - great communication and she even left a thoughtful gift for my dad for his 70th birthday celebration. Kingham is a lovely village - definitely recommend Sunday lunch at the Kingham Plough which is just a 5 minute walk away. Thanks for having us!

  • Such a stunning home! And larger than it looks in the photos which was a nice surprise. Jill was fast with communication and met me to explain everything in the home. Jill provided the little kitchen items we might need which was much appreciated as you don’t always get that. Amazing roaring fire and great location. Didn’t want to leave!

  • A Charming, authentic Cotswold cottage, beautifully located in a place of simulation and hyper realities

  • We had a really lovely stay at the cottage. We are 3 couples plus a toddler and generally have to compromise on either bedrooms or living space, however this was perfect; a really great kitchen, comfy lounge and 3 doubles. The kitchen was bigger than appeared in the photos with a lovely big table with plenty of space for us all. The lounge has plenty of seating and is really comfortable. We had everything we needed, including walking distance to the pub! Thanks for a lovely stay :)

Welcome to the comfortable luxury of Weaver’s Cottage. Imagine having an exclusive boutique hotel all to yourself, with a private garden, sumptuous bedrooms plus a gorgeous, fully equipped kitchen. As a valued guest your enjoyment is our priority with everything you’d expect and more, including Hunter Wellies in different sizes and umbrellas for enjoying the local walks, to a warm water tap outside to wash your doggie and a special welcome pack for you from the famous Daylesford Farm.
We believe the house dates back to the 19th century and was the headmaster’s home when the neighbouring Manor Farm House (to the left of Weaver’s) was a school. The cottage was completely refurbished in 2016, converting the original property from a traditional three-bedroomed cottage to a comfortably proportioned two-bedroomed open-plan home. We created a self-contained separate annexe - the Garden Room - at the bottom of our pretty garden. Weaver's Cottage has been carefully renovated to create a serene, relaxing atmosphere and maximise the comfort of guests.
Kingham, “the darling of the Cotswolds”, is a truly idyllic place. Besides being voted England’s favourite village by County Life Magazine, The Telegraph conducted a survey of more than 100 popular villages, balancing beauty with accessibility, landscape with community and good working services and Kingham topped the list as the best village of them all. Kingham is indeed that rare thing, an unspoilt village. The water still flows along the Evenlode Valley, stone and thatched cottages still trim the village green. The Village Store caters for every need and the St Andrew’s church spire looks out over fields necklaced with dry stone walls in an area of outstanding natural beauty. Sitting on the eastern edge of the Cotswolds, unlike most of Cotswold villages that are built on the hills, Kingham is in the Evenlode Valley that runs between two of the highest market towns in the region, Stow-on-the-Wold and Chipping Norton. No motorways or flight paths nearby but Kingham has its own train station, a mile from the centre of the village, which is just 90 minutes from London Paddingdon, making it both beautifully secluded and wonderfully accessible. Kingham and Weaver’s Cottage offer all the tranquillity you could ever wish for, yet with so much to do and see right close by. PLACES TO EAT AND DRINK You are spoilt for choice around places to eat, drink and relax. Here are a few that we recommend: DAYLESFORD ORGANIC FARM People come from far and wide to visit Daylesford Organic farm shop and café which is just around the corner from Weaver’s Cottage. Lady Bamford runs Daylesford Organic, selling milk straight from her Friesians, as well as handmade cheeses, breads, fish and organic greens (not to mention providing holistic health treatments). THE PLOUGH Set besides the older village green, The Plough operates under Heston Blumenthal trained chef Emily Watkins. “The kitchen is a serious restaurant workplace. The bar menu is as fine as any I’ve seen…anyone thinking of opening a local pub restaurant should come here and see the gold standard.” - AA Gill writing in the Sunday Times THE WILD RABBIT Formerly The Tollgate, The Wild Rabbit is part of Lady Carole Bamford's Daylesford Organic organisation. Executive Chef Tim Allen and his Michelin starred food has earned the The Wild Rabbit “Pub of the Year” in the Michelin Eating Out in Pubs guide. THE CHEQUERS, CHURCHILL Enjoy locally brewed beer propped at the bar with friends and family, or rustic dishes in the restaurant using the very best British ingredients in some well-loved classics like the Twice Baked Cheddar Soufflé, Bobby Battered Market Fish and unmissable steaks cooked to perfection in Josper ovens. WALKS Kingham is a wonderful base for walking. You can set out and explore gorgeous countryside in any direction or you can plan your journey with help from the Cotswold Conservation Board recommendations for car-free circular walking routes: Example One – Kingham Short Circular (3.5 miles - 2 to 3 hours) This walk takes you across the county boundary from Oxfordshire into Gloucestershire and along the stunning River Evenlode that runs through the Evenlode Valley. Example Two – Kingham Circular (9 miles – 4 to 5 hours) This is a longer circular walk through Foxholes Nature Reserve, past Bruern Abbey, up onto the ridge at Idbury and Nether Westcote with views down to Bledington. CYCLING Kingham is famous for cycling with many routes ranging through easy, medium and difficult. Cycle hire is available as self-service, 24 hours a day 7 days a week from a number of hubs in the location. By simply using an app on the Bainton Bikes site and Bluetooth on your phone you can unlock and lock our bikes at your leisure. One of the most popular routes is the ‘easy’ circular route from Kingham Station: Bruern to BBOWT Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire Wildlife Trust Nature Reserve (14 miles 2-3 hours). ST ANDREW’S CHURCH Steeped in history, there has been a church on the site for at least 900 years. A place of quiet beauty, St Andrew’s with its gothic bell tower dates back to the 14th century and with an even older 13th century front. COTSWOLD WILDLIFE PARK The Cotswold Wildlife Park & Gardens exhibits over 260 different species of animals and is the largest privately owned zoological collection in the UK. The park is set in 160 acres of landscaped parkland and gardens. It is situated 11 miles from Kingham and can also be reached by bus from Kingham station. HORSE RIDING Just eight minutes from the cottage, horse riding in the Cotswolds is provided by Durhams Farm. Whether trekking out on planned routes, enjoying parents and tots outings or going on pub rides, there is something for all ages and every level of experience. GOLF The Cotswold Club in nearby Chipping Norton was chosen as one of the Top 3 Courses in Oxfordshire by National Club Golfer Magazine. Why not enjoy a game followed by dinner at the wonderful Cotswold Hotel and Spa next to the course? CHIPPING NORTON 4 miles from Kingham, Chipping Norton is the highest town in Oxfordshire, situated on the western slopes of a hillside that was once the site of a Norman castle. The lively little town has a vibrancy about it. It is a real Cotswold town with real shops and fondly known as 'Chippy' to the locals. Chipping Norton offers the visitor plenty of retail therapy including several antique shops and a wide selection of restaurants, inns and pubs. It also has a theatre and a museum as well as the famous Cotswold Farmers Market locating there regularly. STOW-ON-THE-WOLD In the other direction, just 5 miles from Kingham, Stow-on-the-Wold is a delightful market town and along with Moreton-in-Marsh, perhaps the best known of the small Cotswolds towns. At one end of its vast market square stands an ancient cross and at the other the town stocks, shaded between an old elm tree. Around the square there is an elegant array of Cotswold town houses and shops. Stow is an important shopping centre and has many fine antique shops, art galleries, gifts and crafts and also a centre for walking the Cotswolds countryside. BOURTON-ON-THE-WATER Eight miles from Kingham, located in a small valley amongst the gentle rolling hills of the Cotswolds, Bourton-on-the-Water is a must see for all visitors to the area. The village is often referred to as the ‘Venice of the Cotswolds’ because of the attractive little bridges that cross the gently flowing River Windrush, which runs through the centre of the village. MORE THINGS TO DO There is so much to see and do in and around Kingham that we haven’t included. From the fabulous Lido to the Batsford Arboretum, even camel rides and a Crocodiles of the World zoo. And if all this feels like just too much activity, Weaver’s Cottage is an experience in itself that feels like stepping into another world even if you only go out to the local store.
  • You're always dubious whether the photos will live up to reality but with this property, they were spot on and more! Stunning styling and all the little touches of the hamper and Cowshed products made the stay very special. We can't wait to come stay again.

  • Our stay at Weavers Cottage was fantastic from start to finish. The cottage is so beautifully appointed and in a perfect location for exploring the Cotswolds. The pubs in the village are also fabulous. I wouldn’t hesitate to return and also recommend it to friends.

Juniper house is a deceptively spacious, stunning Grade 2 listed house. Dating back to the 17th century this period house is ideally situated on the beautiful village green. With direct train to Paddington and easy road links this setting is perfect for exploring the stunning Cotswolds. The house has many original features and also modern amenities too. The house has a private, lawned walled garden with patio area.
Kingham is a well known villages in the area, having been awarded the "village of the country" by Country Life magazine. We have two michelin starred pubs in the village, and Daylesford organic store and health barn is half a mile away. The village has a well-stocked shop and post office also.Nearby towns are Moreton in Marsh, Chipping Norton and Stow on the Wold - all worth a visit for tea shops and interesting shops. There is stunning countryside all around us here and many good walks from the house. The house has plenty of space and reception rooms making it perfect for larger gatherings. We have parking for 2 cars, and there is a village car park opposite the house on the village green.
Juniper House is set in the stunning area of outstanding natural beauty known as The Cotswolds. Kingham is a picturesque village with a local shop and 2 renowned, award winning pubs. There is a bench-lined village green popular with walkers, families and locals to picnic in the sun or play on the swings. There are numerous walks from the house out into the countryside, perfect for getting to know the area. There is an abundance of cotswold stone villages near here and pretty little market towns waiting to be explored. The famous Daylesford farm shop, hay barn and restaurant is a 25 minute walk from here for a test of luxury or pampering.

  • This place is really stunning, with old original features as well as a modern touch! There were 9 adults and we really felt at home at Annabelle's and the house was kitted out with everything we needed. The pictures don't do the space justice! There are so many rooms to relax in, we had a TV room, a reading room, a puzzle room and a games room so we could all get on with activities we wanted to do as well as all come together of an evening in one room! The garden space is lovely and spacious too! This house is well kitted out for kids (even though we had none we certainly made use of the play room and Mario kart!) The village is very pleasant and surrounded by many beautiful places and nice pubs! We would definitely love to return!

  • A truly unique, beautiful and very special home. Our stay at Juniper House far exceeded our expectations. We stayed for 5 nights with extended family (6 adults & 5 children), the house was very spacious and had everything we could have wanted. The highlight for us was the amazing, very well stocked play room and lovely children's playhouse in the garden. Our kids (ranging from age 1 to 6) had enough to keep them occupied for weeks, which meant lots of relaxation time for parents! The house is well set up for children with black out blinds in the bedrooms, a secure garden and a village green with swings directly opposite the house. Would highly recommend to families. Great location for exploring the Cotswolds too, however we loved the house so much we didn't really want to go out much :-) Thank you Anabelle & Andrew for making us so welcome in your beautiful home.

    Sarah2019-07-11T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Juniper House. The house itself was lovely and well stocked with kitchen stuff and toys for the children to play with. Annabelle’s communication was brilliant and was just at the end of a message during our stay for help with babysitters and check-out. On arrival we were greeted with a selection of Easter eggs which was a lovely touch. The house is directly on the village green where our children spent most of our stay. Nearby we would definitely recommend The Wild Rabbit, The Plough and Daylesford farm. A lovely home, thank you very much.

    Lucy2019-04-22T00:00:00Z
  • A fantastic family space in a beautiful location. Loved the swings and green opposite - and the pub. The house is wonderfully laid out with lots of different entertaining spaces, including a fantastic playroom for kids. Would rent it again in a heartbeat.

    Ross2019-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful house for a large family group. Annabelle was a thoughtful and helpful host.

    John2018-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • Our family pushed the accomodations at Juniper House and it stood the test! Our ages ran from 2 years old to 89, we filled every bed, we cooked many meals, and we even had guests. The weather moved from warm and sunny when we could eat on the back patio, to chilled and rainy when we hung in the living room with a fire. Having 3 common rooms really helped with the crowd. It was especially great to have a playroom so full of toys. In addition to the backyard with a play house, there was a swing set and benches in the green across the street and plenty of space there to run around with a ball. We used the public parking area on the other side of the green and it was easy. Besides the breakfast items we found when we first arrived, the kitchen was stocked with necessities like olive oil, vinegar, sugar, jam, etc. The cookware was iron and enamel-- hard to find in a rental. In addition to the dryer, there were loads of racks for hanging out wet laundry. The kitchen DOES have a diswasher, which we didn’t see on the listing. The house itself was charming and full of natural light, with deep windows that opened and some windowseats, appealing furniture and decor, comfy bedding. Kingham is a tiny town but plenty of people walked their dogs or came to the green, and the Kingham Plough was literally a one-minute walk. Beyond the public parking, there are paths and a community garden. Plenty of picturesque towns were within easy driving distance and we nearly always had good luck with places to eat when we were out exploring. There’s also a walk mostly off-road over to Churchill where we went to Chequers a few times. https://www.oxfordshirecotswolds.org/dbimgs/Walk_AONBwalk8KinghamChurchill.pdf Finding the path at the end of step one in these instructions was tricky the first time, but it’s simple once you know what to look for. Walking on the road toward Churchill, pass a couple of farm drives on the right side of the road. Look for a stile which in this case is a simple horizontal board through the fence. This puts you on the public foot path alluded to on the webpage. (That particular walk continues to Chipping Norton.) There are lots of other walks in the area. The house has numerous reference and guide books! Make sure to look in the living room shelves:  books on the towns, the flora and fauna, the history, the Cotswold Way, as well as two copies of Map 45 of the Public Footpaths which covers the area.  There were also flyers and brochures, and Annabelle and Andrew put together and printed out more information. We had to clean a lot of blue-black mold out of the washing machine's soap tray before we could use it, but that was the only maintenance issue we encountered. Even though they were away in the States, the hosts responded to our email...

  • Ideal for families. We have 5 young children and this was a perfect, restful getaway. Plenty of space, tidy and uncluttered rooms, beautiful, natural lighting and plenty to explore. We highly recommend a stay at any time of year. We came in the winter and spent hours in the pool, exploring the gardens and on the cozy sofas with a wood fire.

  • We had a lovely stay at Duck End for New Year. It is very well located in the village of Kingham and it is a lovely cottage. Anna was a very responsive host and the welcome treats were a nice surprise.

  • We had the most wonderful two night stay at this beautiful cottage in the lovely village of Kingham. We were greeted by neighbour Jackie who showed us around and was so friendly and helpful; Anna and family had also left us a hamper which really was such a thoughtful touch and got the stay off to a lovely start. The cottage is beautifully decorated and has lots of traditional features, including a gorgeous fire place and log burner in the large living room. Due to the time of year we also had the added bonus of stunning Christmas decorations, including 3 Christmas trees! The cottage was the perfect size for our family of 6 adults and 4 young children, all the bedrooms were a good size and very comfortable. The kitchen has a large dining table and was a lovely sociable area that we spent a lot of time in during the day before relaxing in the gorgeous living room at night. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would visit again in a heartbeat, the only downside being that our time there went far too quickly! Thank you Anna and family :-)

  • We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Mandy and Andrew's house in Kingham. The location is perfect, away from the craziness of the very touristy villages, but plenty to walk to (The Kingham Plough, the Wild Rabbit and Daylesford Organic) and so much within short driving distance. The house was lovely with plenty of room for our two families of four. Although it was cold, the children enjoyed the garden once or twice. There was plenty of space for them to play inside. The house is beautifully decorated and the kitchen was amazing and the AGA stove heated the kitchen nicely. Overall, everything was great. Thank you Mandy and Andrew!

  • We had a wonderful long Easter weekend at The Nook in Kingham. The house was perfect and felt like it had plenty of space for both our young family, our dog and a guest. As the weather was so beautiful we also made good use of the large garden and the BBQ which were fantastic. The location in the middle of Kingham is excellent - the two local pubs in the village are fantastic and we did the 30/35 minute walk through the fields to Daylesford a couple of times, which was lovely. We felt like Mandy went above and beyond to make sure that we had a great stay, from communication ahead of, and during, our visit to the lovely welcome goodies from Daylesford and thoughtful card. We would highly recommend The Nook!

  • We had an excellent time over New Year at The Nook. The house is fantastic, perfectly located and extremely well equipped for us and our guests with young families. Kingham is a brilliant location to explore the Cotswolds and with the Plough and White Rabbit Restaurant and Pubs within 5 min walk, it made for a great few days. Mandy and Andrew were excellent at sending information prior to the trip (things to do, babysitters, etc), and were always contactable during the stay, if we needed them. Would thoroughly recommend staying at the Nook!
