  • This cottage is fabulous. We arrived during storm Dennis in Feb 2020 to lovely cosy log burners waiting for us. It was a perfect base to explore South West Ireland, just 5 minutes into Bantry, with pubs, restaurants, shops & a decent sized Lidl giving us everything we needed. Beds were comfortable, lots of room to spread out as a family downstairs. Jerome quickly responded to any queries & provided plenty of wood to keep us warm for the week. The cottage was very clean & tidy & the WiFi worked well. Very little phone coverage (which was great) I would highly recommend this cottage, Jerome & the West coast of Ireland to anyone wanting a real break from it all. The 18 inch thick walls of the cottage kept all the wind & rain out too.

  • Wonderful stay in idyllic farm cottage in easy distance from the lovely town of Bantry. Very spacious and cosy in the evenings with the wood burner. We had a fantastic time.

  • A lovely home even for a winters stay. Great craic around the fire in this gem of a place. We appreciated the heating was switched on before we arrived as well as the tidy directions.

    Kevin2020-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • Jerome's place is an awesome place to stay. Before we arrived, we got given a whole load of great tips of things to visit and some directions which made finding the place easy. The place is really cosy, particularly with the fire going. The view from the balcony is incredible.

    Jake2020-01-11T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed the experience of staying out of town although not to far out. The people in Bantry were very helpful and friendly.

We are 40 minutes drive to Cork city, 50 minutes Killarney and less than an hour from Bantry Bay.

If you need a soak after a long day then there is a shared bathroom available. Washer and dryer available, one load limit please. Well behaved dogs welcome. No smoking indoors.
Macroom is a small market town on the Cork to Tralee road. Good local restaurants and pubs offering banter and traditional music. For the nature lover we are close to the Gearagh and Warrenscourt woods and only a 30 mintue drive to the spectacular Gougane Barra National Park. Other attractions not too far away are Blarney Castle, the Toy Soldier Factory, Farren Woods, Fota Wildlife Park, Kinsale, Cobh (the last port of call for the Titanic), The Jameson Distillery in Midleton, and of course Cork City.
  • A great stay! We were warmly welcomed by the hosts Desiree and Mark (including dog bug and cat Samantha) despite the late hour and we were initially given a small house tour. The house is really nice and the rooms are extremely spacious. The room and the private bathroom were very clean and stylishly decorated. For breakfast the next morning there was plenty of choice and stimulating discussions with the hosts. We would come back anytime. Many thanks to Desiree and Mark!

Kestrel Cottage and Curlew Cottage are situated on a beautiful one acre field, with, glimpses of the mountains towards Killarney and on the doorstep of West Cork, close to the tiny village of Tarelton. The city of Cork is an easy commute away. Both cottages have been our family home for many years. Each independent of the other, cozy in the winter and sunny and spectacular in the summer. The family live in Curlew Cottage and we would like to welcome guests to Kestrel Cottage.
Kestrel Cottage has an entrance hall, separate bedroom with 2 single beds, an additional guest bed, living room, fully equipped kitchen come dining room and separate utility room. From the windows there are views out into the fields and country side. To the front of the cottage there is a pleasant garden and to the back stretching down to the edge of the field. The cottage is a pleasant place to spend time, and there, are places to sit in the garden. Once the evenings are clear and the weather fine, evenings can be a time to sit outside too. The starry night skies are beautiful (no street lights here) and one interpretation for Tarelton is "The Land of the Stars"
Tarelton village is a 5/10 minutes stroll from Kestrel Cottage. A small grocery shop, post office, bar all rolled into one is the central feature. The bar serves a good pint of Guinness and one can buy the ingredients for an Irish breakfast including the famous Clonakilty black pudding and soda bread made locally. Macroom is a busy small town 15 minute car drive away. There are pleasant walks from the cottage with lovely views to be found. The Gearagh Nature Reserve, 5 minutes by car provides of road walking. Gougane Barra, 1/2 an hour away, is suitable for easy walking or the more demanding Gougane Barra Ridge. About an hours drive away from Kestrel Cottage are ferry crossing points to the West Cork Islands of Sherkin, Cape Clear and Heir. Each island has its own character with lovely walks and coastal scenery, and a pace of life which may not be found on the mainland. Fastnet Lighthouse(most south westerly point) not accessible by foot but by ferry for those who find there sea legs. Killarney offers opportunity for walking from the National Park, to the highest point in Ireland Carrauntuohill. The lakes themselves are beautiful with fly fishing from 15 February to 12 October. Weekly markets are held in many of the towns, the biggest being the permanent, indoor market with its large fish hall in Cork city.
  • We very much enjoyed our stay in the cottage. It felt like home immediately. Spotless clean and with a lot of amenities. Beautiful maintained garden. Eoin and Libby are great hosts and we enjoyed the chats with them. We will be back for sure.

    Ana2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • It's a wonderful cottage in what seems to be the middle of nowhere, but it's only a short beautiful drive to town. There were a lot of personal touches which went the extra mile. It's a pretty centralized location to be able to visit various cities. The roads to get to the cottage are narrow, but there was little traffic so it was hardly a worry. Google maps gave directions to the cottage without issue with the address we were given, so we were never lost, as the roads in the area are a bit confusing.

    Francisco2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Enjoyed very much our stay, Libby made us feel very welcomed, even left fresh eggs, milk and juice for us. Cottage is lovely, would really like to come back.

    Elena2019-11-19T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely welcoming space with good facilities, resources about places to visit in the area and toasty warm.

    Melissa2019-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • Kestrel Cottage is a warm and relaxing place to take a break. I was welcomed by Eoin and Libby when I arrived and they was helpful throughout my stay, I would not hesitate to go back again.

    Darren2019-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely and cozy cottage in top condition with the friendly hosts Eoin and Libby and regional food for brakefast. It's a great base to take daytrips by car to cork, the south- and westcoast.

    Christian2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Eoin & Libby's cottage is sparkling clean, comfortable and relaxing. It is situated in a very quiet scenic part of Cork. Beautiful sunsets and gardens. I was staying just for a few days while I worked nearby and it was a real pleasure to come back there every evening. They even left me fresh eggs from their own chickens, and milk, bread etc. I had more than I could need! They are generous and lovely people. I'll be back again for sure.

    Camille2019-09-19T00:00:00Z

Our property is a luxury glamping experience set in a peaceful rustic rural space. The glamping area is a large, very bright studio with unique wooden features and wood burning stove for cosiness. Very comfortable relaxing and quite space to chill out. NOTE:sink, toilet and shower 30 second walk away from studio in host house through a private entrance. Drinking water provided. Great for road & hill walking, no traffic. Hour to Killarney, West Cork & Cork City. Macroom 6 miles away for shops.
We grow our own vegetables and keep chickens and try to live in a sustainable way. As this area is 1000 metres above sea level and there are lots of beautiful native trees planted on our land you can enjoy amazing fresh air and space. It is a perfect place to chill out and relax in peace and quiet after your day of sight seeing and exploring.
This area is unique because it gives you the feeling of what it is like to experience real rural Irish living while being within an hour drive of all touristic places.
  • I’ve stayed here a few times now and as always it’s brilliant hospitality and a wonderful place to stay. Excellent hospitality Regina and Paul are wonderful hosts and would highly recommend to all!

    Av2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Hands down one of the best Airbnb’s I ever stayed it. The apartment is perfect!! Regina is such a kind and warm host. The stove is so cosy and heats up the space so quickly. Beds are lovely, and the bathroom and shower is only a couple seconds walk away. I originally booked 2 nights but was having such a great time that I booked an extra 2 nights, would of stayed for another week if I could have. Perfect commute to Coachford where I was taking part in a course. Couldn’t recommend it more.

  • I couldn’t make it but my friend stayed and had a lovely time

    Barry2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful recluse, really comfy and easily made to feel at home. Everything worked wonderfully in the space. The area itself is absolutely gorgeous and a walk up the lanes is a must.

    Av2019-12-06T00:00:00Z
  • 2 nights of real peace away from it all in a beautiful setting. What more do you want 🙂

    David2019-11-27T00:00:00Z
  • Regina and Paul's place was the accommodation highlight of my trip: I simply needed a place to crash on route to Cork, but their place gave me the emotional nourishment I didn't know I needed amidst a long road trip. The place is cozy and stylish, reminding me of little California cabins I've stayed at. Regina greeted me, having already started a fire in the little fireplace located in the private unit. It's a small space, but the space is really well utilized. It felt like a regular sized apartment. It's a mini kitchen, but they had everything I needed: Regina had carefully stocked the mini fridge with milk, butter, yoghurt, and jam for my stay, along with some fresh soda bread for me to enjoy in the morning. I was here mid-November, and it was one of the few properly heated places I've stayed at! It's very quiet at night, so I was TOASTY in bed listening to the rain on the roof. It's the kind of place you can really relax at. I regret not having allocated more time to spend here: I would have loved to get to know the hosts more. 'Tis my only regret :)

    Tuna2019-11-19T00:00:00Z
  • This place is outstanding, you feel like your in a log cabin in the middle of nowhere. So snug and cosy!

    Luke2019-11-18T00:00:00Z
  • This place is great! It’s a lovely space with lots of thoughtful touches. Lovely selection of books to browse & a delicious selection of scones or fruit & porridge for breakfast. Regina & Paul are very welcoming & quick to respond to queries.

  • Oliver is an outstanding host, clearly very experienced and great at balancing various requests that come his way. All amenities are available and clearly explained either by Oliver in person or through the notes and folders in the accommodation and amenities. A great base to explore this part of Cork from. Highly recommended.

    Fiona2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Something completely different than you are used to. It was an adventure to find accommodation and more than one to sleep in a hammock, but it was great! The scenery around is great and the experience of sleeping there is something that I would not want to miss. Super friendly hosts, which even drove us to the next supermarket.

    Saskia2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • Super night! Although I was skeptical about the comfort of a hammock at my age (47), I had a great night, warm despite the cool rainy night, reconnecting with nature. The site is wonderful, comfortable and soothing. Thank you Olivier for your great availability and your kindness! I recommend everyone!

  • Tracy and her husband were great hosts, showing concern for us during this strange time of social distancing and closures. We didn't leave the apartment for two days because it was so cozy and comfortable. Netflix was also a very welcome bonus. Oh, and the bed was extremely comfortable!

(Not for driving hire - max 7 nights - not suitable for 4 or 5 adults). Self-catering , sleeping up to a family of 5 (but not more than 3 adults), parked in front of our house with access to shared kitchen/shower/toilet in the Outhouse. Tig Lammax is located in quiet countryside 6km from the town of Macroom in a lightly populated rural area, close to The Gearagh Nature Reserve, a popular walking area, and Gougane Barra National Park. See tiglammax com website for more information.
The Campervan has a high level, curtained, fixed king-size bed, and a small double sofa bed and a single sofa bed in the lounge area of the van, so we can accommodate up to a family of 5 (but not more than 3 adults). Guests have the use of a shared sitting room with satellite TV in the house. WiFi is now available throughout the property. The house sits on 1/2 acre of land with a newly landscaped garden. There is parking your car next to the Campervan. We are ideally situated for travellers between Cork City & Killarney being only half an hour by car to Gougane Barra, 55 mins to Killarney and 40 mins to Cork City. Campervan & Pod guests (see separate listing) have access to a newly installed kitchen in the Outhouse together with shower, toilet, and seating area for your meals . Continental breakfast is also available in the cottage at an extra charge of €5 per person. The accommodation is more suitable for guests travelling by car due to it's rural location. However, we welcome walkers and cyclists and we can collect from Macroom, which is well served by buses from Cork, Killarney, Tralee etc, for an extra €8 voluntary gratuity per round trip.
The district is lightly populated. We have one immediate neighbour and about 10 other dwellings within one square kilometre - fairly typical of rural Ireland. The house is situated in a quiet part of the Cork countryside, 6km from Macroom town and 1km from The Gearagh, a national nature reserve of great natural importance due to it's rich and rare diversity of wildlife, representing the only extant extensive alluvial woodland in Western Europe. It makes for a very pleasant 6km walk. While the countryside is hilly, it is great cycling country so will appeal to those who come equipped, or who would like to hire bicycles from us for a small fee.
  • I recommend Moira without hesitation, very good hospitality and confort !

  • The campervan was a big adventure for our two small kids aged 3 and 5. It is good that there is a kitchen which we used in the evenings after our trips. The location is good for visiting Kanturk Castle or the donkey sanctuary near Mallow.

Her warm hospitality stood out upon my arrival and throughout my stay. Both Deirdre and her family were very helpful I needed anything. I was only there for a week but I met some other guests who are staying longer term for work assignments. For anyone travelling or working this truly felt like a home away from home.

  • I booked a night in the bell tent as a surprise night away for my boyfriend. It was exactly what I was looking for, it gave us a great introduction to camping - with the luxuries of a very comfortable air bed and electricity! Unfortunately we had torrential rain so didn't get to enjoy the amenities- which looked great , BBQ area is especially cool, so we tucked ourselves in for the night listening to the rain belt against the tent while we stayed cosy and dry with Netflix and wine.. perfect escape!

    Rachel2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Overall a fantastic experience that I would recommend to anyone. Oliver is a legend and really looked after us, he offered us a lot of local tips for travelling around. Great serenity and the sky is ideal for seeing the stars at night. Make sure you go in the hot tub but don't make it too hot!

    Fraser2019-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • Such a charming place, a great location to be between Killarney and Cork city. We felt very welcome at Oliver's and joined him for dinner one evening too. Our favourite was the woodburning hot tub, being able to chop down logs and stoke the fire made it all the more special. And finally, the stars- as it's set in a rural location we could see so many stars on a clear night, it made the whole experience wonderful.

    Lucie2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • A nice place away from the 'civilized world'. A good base to explore the fantastic surroundings and the south-west of Ireland.

    Maaike2019-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • Our time in Oliver’s place was very good. We stayed in the tent and it was more comfortable than we expected. The common areas are beautifully designed, it is a place you don’t want to leave. If you want a quiet place in the countryside, this is for you.

    Julieta2019-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • Oliver was very accommodating as my husband and I checked in late. He gave us a wonderful tour around the site and we were told to make ourselves at home. We only stayed for one night, but we had a blast. They have so many different activities including the in-ground trampoline and the hammocks. Great spot to stay for those looking for an adventurous stay!

    Rachael2019-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • The amenities were perfect, a how to manual was left in the tent which made it easy to heat the hot tub, the glamping tent was nice and romantic, we would highly recommend and will definitely be back

THE SINGLE ROOM Your bedroom opens off the study/entrance hall. The room faces east on one side for bright morning light with a window onto the garden on the other. It is very quiet. The comfortable old-fashioned iron bedstead is a single and there is a chest of drawers and some large hooks for hanging. WE PROVIDE: Bed linen Towels Soap Shampoo Hairdryer Iron and ironing board BREAKFAST: Porridge or muesli with yoghourt Toast with jam/marmalade Tea or coffee THE HOUSE AND GARDEN Windfall is a short drive from the village of Rosscarbery. We are close to the Warren beach, Celtic Ross Hotel and Spa, and the great gourmet restaurants and bars in Rosscarbery village. There are other lovely beaches and coves within easy driving distance. Windfall is an old cottage situated in its own wildflower meadow. The garden is an ongoing project against unkempt and rampant growth and years of neglect and there is now a lawn, orchard, flower meadow and the beginnings of formal flower beds. The house has been recently brought up-to-date with large windows so it is bright and sunny though there are wood-burning stoves for chillier evenings. We use only natural Castile soap for all cleaning and no harsh chemicals at all. Windfall is surrounded by beautiful countryside and woodland, perfect if you want to unwind. There is a pleasant walk into the village of Rosscarbery on a secluded country road. This takes about 40 minutes and is perfect if you want to visit the pub. We are happy for you to use the garden and kitchen/sitting room but please read the House Rules below for greater clarification. EATING AND DRINKING Rosscarbery has some great places to eat and drink, such as Nolan’s Bar and Pilgrim's award-winning restaurant. There are also restaurants and bars looking over the harbour in nearby Glandore and great restaurants and cafes all over West Cork. TOURING The house is perfectly placed as a base for touring as it is just off the main N71 road. Courtmacsherry and Kinsale are within easy reach to the east. Westwards are Skibbereen, Castletownshend, Schull and the Mizen Head on the way to Kerry. THE NEIGHBOURHOOD We are very close to the picturesque harbour of Glandore and the fishing village of Union Hall. There are many ancient sites to visit in West Cork, the nearest is the stone circle at Reenascreena and the stunning Drombeg and the countryside is dotted with standing stones and ruined fortified houses such as Coppinger’s Court. You can take a ferry to Cape Clear and Sherkin Islands from the harbour at Baltimore as well as a boat to view Fastnet Rock. Whalewatching is a must with regular sightings of Minkies and Humpbacks. There is a medieval castle, Castle Salem, a few minutes down the road - one of the few fortified houses still lived in - where you can book a personal tour from the owner. Rosscarbery is conveniently situated on the main N71 road from Cork to the west. Rosscarbery is a lovely, quiet village with pubs and restaurants. The local beach, the Warren, is a stone's throw and is a lovely sandy cove reached along a causeway through natural wetlands. There is spectacular coastal scenery, such as the Galley Head, a short drive away and my guests are always stunned by the beautiful countryside all round. There are lovely sandy beaches all along the coast within easy driving distance. There is a small supermarket, post office, gift shop, chemist and art gallery, hairdressers and a beauty salon. A swimming pool and spa is open to non-residents at the Celtic Ross Hotel. For such a small place there are some really good places to eat and drink such as Nolan's Bar and Pilgrim's.
  • Unfortunately I had to cancel my trip at the last minute, so I cannot comment on the accommodation as I never got there. However, I had great communication with Mich, who was very understanding about the last-minute problems that stopped me from travelling. I know the general area, so can guarantee the place is in a very beautiful location :-) and I will certainly book again when I can manage my next break in Ireland.

    Penny2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Mich is an absolute sweetheart who's full of interesting stories and insights. Make sure to sit and have a cup of tea with her in her lovely, stylish and very comfy home - you won't regret it!

  • Me is a great hostess, offers an exceptionally individually decorated house. We were able to sleep in two separate rooms, which was a great luxury for us. A private bathroom with state-of-the-art equipment. There are enough towels, enough closet space and wonderful linens. We got breakfast yogurt fresh fruit cereal, bread, coffee and tea, all very good quality. Interesting discussions and tips for excursions have made the stay in this great area an unforgettable experience. The house was a cottage, has been modernized by me with very tasteful details. • Mich was the most welcoming host we have ever experienced. She was in constant and instant communication. And nothing was too much trouble. Her place is a beautiful house in the countryside. Our room was spotless with and en-suite and had access to the room without even having to enter the house. She made us a lovely light breakfast each morning which was a lovely touch. Her hospitality is exceptional and she is a really lovely woman to talk to and also excellent with providing advice on things to go see and do etc. I would definitely recommend this place and hope to return soon. If staying I would advise to have your own car as everywhere is a small travel but it is very accessible and easy to get to everywhere. It was ideal for us as we wanted to visit clonakilty, skibbereen, mizen head etc. She made our trip to Cork much more than we would have had if it wasn’t for her help and information. Thanks again so much Mich

Mich made a beautiful breakfast for us daily, she is a great conversationalist and we would highly recommend her place to anyone looking for an excellent place to stay.

The Lodge has 3 tastefully decorated rooms in Victorian style furniture. Ideal base for touring West Cork and Kerry. Convenient to The Wild Atlantic Way, Killarney National Park, Ring of Kerry,Dingle and all of West Cork's beautiful coast line including Gougane Barra. This property is located in the grounds of The Mills Inn where you will find a traditional bar and restaurant with superb food served all day. For the thirsty traveller we also serve our own local craft beer.
Your bedroom is located in The Lodge which is situated in the grounds of The Mills Inn. There is a historic castle, beautiful grounds/gardens and a fairy trail all located right outside your door. The bedroom itself is ensuite and is a twin room (1 double bed, 1 single) but a camp bed can also be added if necessary to accommodate a 4th person.
What really makes The Lodge special is that if you enjoy good food and craft beer then The Mills is next door or if you want to get away from it all then this property is extremely calm and quiet. There is a beautiful park located across the road from us with beautiful walks through the woods which brings you to St Gobnaits shrine. Ballyvourney is a traditional Gaeltacht area so you will experience the real Irish village living.
  • Very peaceful, spacious room, en suite with modern bathroom in a lovely location with the pub/restaurant serving great food (since 1775!) on the other side of the courtyard.

    Bruno2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • A nice, clean, comforyable lodge with stylish Victorian decor, literally right next to a castle. It's a short drive to Killarney National Park, so if you plan on going there, stay here instead of the hotels in Killarney. Amazing value as well.

  • My room at the Inn was very nice, had lots of room, and a stylish bathroom. I ate dinner at the inn as well and the food was very good.

  • Nice room at reasonable price. Great location for road bowling in Ballyvourney.

  • My sisters and I loved our stay at the Lodge at the Mills Inn. Ballyvournay is a very scenic town. We loved our morning walk through the woods to St. Gobnait's old cemetery, church, and holy well. We arrived late the night before and Don made us delicious toasted sandwiches even after the kitchen had closed. We enjoyed the sandwiches with delicious local beer from 9 White Deer Brewery. The room was very comfortable and clean. We were in a triple room with an ensuite bath. I would highly recommend staying at this authentic Irish place!

    Helen2019-07-03T00:00:00Z
  • We have stayed at The Mills for many years but this was the first time in The Lodge. The booking process, comms and check-in was smooth (able to even check in a few hours early) The Lodge is a hidden gem within the stunning grounds, if there were other guests there we didn’t hear them, it was clean and all of the staff were helpful. Would recommend and return.

Stylish Guest Suite nestled in the West Cork countryside, within walking distance to local shop and pub, surrounded by local walks and hiking trails. Kealkill is an ideal location to base yourself when exploring both the West Cork and Kerry regions. The village of Kealkill is less than 10mins drive from the main Wild Atlantic Way route between Cork & Kerry in the Southwest of Ireland. Gouganne Barra is 15mins drive, 10KM to Bantry and close to the Sheeps Head Way.
The Guest Suite is a self contained unit separate from my home. It is open plan with double doors opening onto an outdoor space and lawn. All essentials are present to ensure your stay is comfortable, cosy and relaxing. Entrance to Kealkill Park is less than 50m, local pub within 500m and local shop less than 1km. There are a number of loop walks in the area and Gouganne Barra is approx 15min drive.

There is a vibrant local community, the Guest Suite is within walking distance to the local pub where everything from a crisp pint of Murphy's to a distinguished selection of Gins, (Dingle, Hendricks, Glengarriff to name a few) that would rival any city establishment, can be enjoyed after a hearty days activity.

  • Good countryside location and if you like walking plenty nearby plus the beara and sheeps head peninsulas. Well priced and facilities fine. Bed large enough but one has to climb over the partner for loo visits as it's a bit tight fitting. Local supermarket very well stocked in Bantry and also a shop in Kealkill.

Tig Lammax is set in the quiet countryside, well placed for access to West Cork & Kerry. Macroom is 10 mins, Cork City 40 mins & Killarney 55 mins. Macroom town centre & the nearest shops & bus service are 6km away, so car or cycle is essential. See tiglammax com website for more information.
The cottage sits on 3/4 acre of land mainly laid to grass though we have big plans to develop into a real garden. There is parking for two guest cars. The house is a converted cottage with two upstairs bedrooms (one for guests) a large sitting room downstairs with open fireplace, for guest use, and kitchen/dining room/family room. The house was built in 1901 and extended in 1991. We are situated only 30 mins by car to Gougane Barra, 55 mins to Killarney and 40 mins to Cork City and is well placed to explore West Cork and Kerry. Guests have the use of a sitting room with satellite TV. The bedroom has a double and a single bed so can accommodate a family including one child. The bathroom is downstairs and has a walk in shower with a "rain" shower head. The house is more suitable for guests travelling by car due to the rural location. However, we welcome walkers and cyclists and can collect from Macroom, which is well served by buses from Cork, Killarney, Tralee etc, for an extra €8 round trip.
The neighbourhood is quiet without the noise and bustle of the city. We are 8 km from Macroom town and the nearest shops, 1 km from The Gearagh, a national nature reserve, a very pleasant walk of up to 90 minutes directly from the house.
  • Moira's house is comfy and is midway on an easy to drive location for someone travelling to Cork or Killarney. She is a very supportive and generous host. The only thing to keep in mind while travelling with family is that the washroom is downstairs. We enjoyed our stay at Moira's.

    Hansika2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Moira is very kind and welcoming. You can talk about all kind of subject with her and she likes to share her knowledge about Ireland. The mattress was very comfy and breakfast really nice! We liked the more rural location, it is quiet and the surrounding area beautiful.

    Léonore2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • Quite professional with multi-lingual introduction card in the room. Socket extension with USB's very handy and above what you might expect in an old building. If you do go into Macroom to eat - be sure to cycle/walk *around* the Slovene hill, not over it like I did! Secluded location which is what I wanted and good value.

    Alan2019-09-11T00:00:00Z

  • Peter's place is perfect for country-lovers. There are superb views around the area and very few other houses in sight. It's not very far from Clonakilty, if you have transport, and there are plenty of places there where you can eat, enjoy music, etc. There's also a pub fairly close to Peter's house, he explained. The room (en-suite) is clean and attractive and provides tea/coffee-making facilities, books and local information. Peter is friendly and great to talk to and he was able to give directions to a great place for observing bird-life. Peter's place is one to return to again and again!

    Anni2019-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • This place is great! There is WiFi (a little slow) but you don't need it since the house is up on a hill and you have a beautiful view of the valley. Peter is super nice as well, wish we stayed longer!

    Katie2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • We were very happy and happy about our night with Peter. The room was big, exactly as described, it was quiet and Peter is a real original. Super nice and funny! His trip tip was fantastic. It saved us the day! At any time we would stay with him again!

    Michelle2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Peter was amazing, even though the road to his house is not the most visible one, we got delayed and came at night, Peter was so helpful! We managed to find the place at the end but we recommend to go there before it is dark already. But you will definitely enjoy the amazing view from Peter’s house the day after in the morning! We definitely recommend this place.

  • Kitty and her husband are a very nice and welcoming couple. They were very arranging for our late arrival. The house is very big and lovely decorated. The garden is huge and highly maintained. Breakfast was delicious!! On top of that, we forgot our coats in the closet and Kitty found a way to send them to our next trip stop. Really helpful! :) I wish I could give her six stars.

Close to the village but quiet and secluded. The house is a home and full of interest . I love my garden and the hillside around and that at night it is dark and quiet [rather than traffic noise I hear a fox bark or an owl hoot up the hill] We have two cats.
The en-suite bedroom has a double bed and is ideal for a single person or two people sharing. The room is clean and bright and located close to the kitchen and living room. My house seems secluded and quiet since it is hidden behind trees on a hillside , but it is close to the N 71 and Leap village. Glandore and Union Hall are less than two miles away.
I think of Leap as the beginning of wild West Cork. Here the coastline begins to become rugged with endless coves to explore. It is a great base from which to explore . The village is quiet but has several pubs and places in which to eat out.
  • Excellent host, lovely home-made jams and very pleasant accommodation.

    Fiona2019-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • I would be very warmly welcomed. Everything was shown to me and all questions answered. Everything was clean. I will be given tips on where to eat delicious. The breakfast was also delicious. I am very happy to come back :)

  • Beautiful location with clean, cosy room in gorgeous home filled with eclectic art. Wonderful bonus of delicious breakfast involving real coffee, homegrown raspberries and scrambled eggs. Charming, helpful host. Easy access to whale watching, Atlantic Sea kayaking. Turn off to house hard to find so worth asking for landmark.

  • Beautiful countryside setting, hosts very hospitable, felt like home

    Luisa Jane2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • We only stayed for 1 night but we loved it. Joy’s place is beautiful and she is super kind and friendly. She has an amazing garden and lovely character. Definitely will go back soon and highly recommend her lovely home.

    Moisen2019-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • It was a real pleasure staying with Joy. We were made to feel more than welcome. We had a private room, with our own bathroom and a separate entrance so as to come and go as we pleased. Joy was an amazing host, who took the time to sit and chat with us and allowed us to explore her lovely garden. Her home is only a short walk from Leap for anyone wanting to visit the town and Joy gives great directions to find the house. We were travelling around the area on motorbikes and Joy was happy to give us ideas on local areas to visit. On arrival we were given tea and coffee and the following morning, much to our surprise, Joy had a beautiful breakfast set out for us (very tasty homemade jams included). An amazing host, lovely home, and much much more than we expected given the price we paid. We would love to return...

    Andrea2019-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • Joy gave us great tips about the local area and cooked us a lovely breakfast!

    Mairead2019-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • Joy and her partner are great hosts. The room / bathroom has a unusual layout but I didn't mind that. I enjoyed my stay with Joy!
