Luxurious and spacious apartment in Grade 2 mill on banks of Aire. Master bedroom, hand-crafted wooden 'sleigh' bed, large bathroom with free-standing bath; twin bedroom with en-suite shower room; open-plan living area; hand-crafted bespoke kitchen
Located in the tranquillity of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, this apartment is ideally located for walkers and cyclists. Close to the Pennine Way, Malham's spectacular cove and Yorkshire's Three Peaks, it is a comfortable and cosy base from which to explore this stunning area
Airton is a peaceful village set in the heart of Malhamdale in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. There is a popular village store/farm shop and cafe which sells a good selection of basic provisions and local produce. Many of our guests have commented favourably on it. A public footpath leads through the mill's wetland garden and the Pennine Way, 100m walk from the apartment, can be seen from the main rooms. There is a never-ending variety of walks through the natural beauty of 'Calendar Girls' countryside. The area is popular with cyclists, walkers, horse-riders and climbers. You can ramble along the riverside to Malham's stunning cove, limestone pavement and tranquil tarn. During the summer months, there are numerous rural shows and music and art festivals. Museums, steam trains, ice-cream farm, falconry centre - the variety of activities ensures there will never be a dull moment, whatever the weather.
  • Beautiful home and very well equipped. Great location with walks straight from the front door and lovely view of the river at the back. Lovely bathroom - fab for soaking tired muscles after a days walking. Great location for Malham too. All in all 💯 %.

  • Jesca's home was beautiful and comfortable. The whole family enjoyed the scenic hiking trails just outside the home, the views from the back windows, the small quiet town, the country drive getting there, and the great Farm House grocery store and tea room. This is a stop I recommend if you are looking for special! Enjoyed our stay!!

  • Jesca’s place was perfect for our needs, spotless, well equipped, and in a beautiful location. Jesca was very easy to communicate with, our booking was at short notice, however the booking was completed promptly without fuss. Jesca’s customer standards are high. She informed me of a very minor omission from the advertised facilities. I would not have noticed and had I done so certainly not complained, such was my very favourable impression of her property. Nonetheless, without my bidding Jesca gave me a rebate to compensate my ‘inconvenience’. Quality service, highly recommended.

  • Great host

    Guy2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • Jane's place was just what we were looking for - warm, cosy and with everything we needed with fantastic walks on the doorstep and a farm shop around the corner. We loved the board games, books and piano too and we'd be happy there come rain or shine. My only regret was that we'd booked it for one night instead of a week. Next time I'll be sure to stay for longer. Many thanks Jane for your hospitality.

    Louisa2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Jon and Jane were very hospitable and the house was warm and comfortable. We lacked for nothing and the location was great for walks

  • Juliet’s place is tucked away in the countryside yet close enough to the local village to not be completely isolated. The information pack in the living room is a very thoughtful touch and we sampled the local takeaway ‘Purple Garlic’ during our stay which did not disappoint. The space itself is compact but functional and it’s clear that it has been furnished to a high standard - particularly the bedlinens which were exquisite. We stayed with our 5 month old which was absolutely fine and the travel cot was a lovely touch. I would not recommend it for families with active babies due to the size of the space, but it is a lovely retreat for couples or those with younger ones. Juliet was really helpful throughout and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her and her lovely loft to our friends and family!

    Emma2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean, cosy and bright, Juliet has done a great job with the space. Nice touches like milk and water in the fridge.

    Jake2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • The Loft is so sweet and exactly what we needed - the perfect space for two, so cosy and lovely. Juliet was amazing at responding and giving us specific directions so we could get there easily, the lockbox makes checking-in a dream, and there are great tea and coffee / microwave / toaster facilities which made it such a lovely overnight stay! Everything was beautifully clean and in perfect order, and was wonderful to come back to after a long hike in the Dales! Would thoroughly recommend.

    Hannah2020-02-09T00:00:00Z

  • This was a really beautiful and cosy cottage with excellent amenities and felt spacious. The beds are really comfy! There was a great deal of thought to make all the practicalities straightforward. The location is a great launchpad for day trips all over the Dales. It is in beautiful countryside and so the views even from the cottage became a fond memory of the holiday. Everything was excellent.

5 minute taxi ride to the train station. 15 minute drive to The Dales. 20 minute train ride to Leeds. Local shop.
Modern terrace house, newly decorated and up to date appliances.
I'm on a quirky but steep cobbled road. Neighbours are smashing.
  • Although I didn't meet Sarah, I enjoyed staying at her house overlooking the River Aire Valley and the Liverpool to Leeds Canal. It was a beautiful area of Yorkshire to visit. I found the house easily and my bedroom was spacious and the bed comfortable. The street follows the valley side and is quite steep - remember to "curb" your wheels if you are driving. The local pub is an easy walk but doesn't serve dinner (or at least didn't when I visited). One of the locals graciously gave me a lift to the Airdale Heifer pub and brewery at the bottom of the valley which was one of the best pub experiences I have had in the UK for nice ales and good food. It was only a short inexpensive Uber ride back to Sarah's house. The other must-do whilst staying at Sarah's house is the Liverpool to Leeds Canal tow path walk. It was amazing viewing the Victorian engineering, the wildlife (waterfowl and swans) and the beautiful views. Highly recommended. I would be happy to return to Sarah's house to spend more time in this beautiful part of northern England. Thanks Sarah!

  • Dianne has a lovely home within walking distance of the town centre. The room has a comfortable double bed with lovely views. She made me very welcome, checking in with me before I arrived about the cereals and bread I wanted for breakfast and providing home baking to help myself to during my stay. I would definitely recommend Dianne’s place to stay.

    Karen2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Dianne is a fabulous host and couldn't have been more helpful. The room had everything I needed (including enough plug sockets). On my arrival there were even homemade shortbread!

  • Dianne is very welcoming and makes you feel right at home. The room is comfy and spacious, with a large desk. The kitchen is well equipped. The whole house is kept very clean. Skipton offers easy access to several great hikes and other destinations in the Yorkshire Dales, even without a car. The only negative point is that the house was a bit cold during the day, but Dianne gave me an electric radiator which kept me warm while I was working.

    Julien2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • The place is 10-minute walk away from the Town Centre with several shops and pubs. The room has a lovely view of a hill and is spacious for one person. You get your own bathroom which is clean and spacious as well. Interaction with the guest was excellent (she give local advice, provide instructions for breakfast and is happy to help with what you need) Highly recommended!

My top-floor luxury apartment offers a clean, modern, cosy, and convenient base for business or holidaying in Skipton and the Yorkshire Dales. Firth Mills is an historic converted textile mill located in a quiet residential area just a few minutes walk from Skipton's bustling market high street, dozens of cafes, restaurants, shops, and the medieval castle.
The apartment is stylish and modern yet also cosy. You'll be able to start the day with a waterfall shower and complementary tea, coffee, and fresh milk. Any planning you'd like to do can be easy with the WiFi, and you'll hopefully feel right at home with the full use of my kitchen, dining area, and balcony. TV with freeview, Amazon Prime, and Netflix will also give you plenty of choice for any chilled-out evenings. The tall headboard of the bed provides you the option to put your feet up and read after what I hope will be a lovely day spent exploring Skipton and beyond! You are also welcome to use my gym equipment in the upstairs mezzanine.
Residents of the mill are generally very quiet and only heard when passing through the corridor. Whilst not silent, the local environment is generally quiet with only light traffic and morning birdsong being noteworthy. Just around the corner in this safe neighbourhood are two convenience stores, a lovely fish and chip shop, a bakery, and a curry-house.
  • Beautiful apartment and perfectly located. In very close walking distance to the nearby town centre and skipton Castle. Apartment is very modern and perfectly equipped for any stay. Pleasure to stay there. If returning to skipton would book this apartment every time if possible.

  • Beautiful apartment. Jordan was extremely helpful in the build up providing lots of information about the apartment, the local area, even providing recommendations for food. He's simply a great host. We loved the apartment so much that we've started looking on Property Finder for any more in the building available! For my first time using AirBnB, Jordan made it a very enjoyable experience. Will definitely be using this website again, and Jordan if we're ever up in the area!

  • We had such a nice break in this beautiful house. Such a good location and lovely views, it must be great in the Summer when you can enjoy the garden too. We loved the design and decor of the house and the three bathrooms were perfect. Mary was very helpful and quick to respond to queries and we fell in love with Skipton, so many shops, a market and great walks nearby. Thanks for a lovely stay.

  • This house was ideal for our trip, it’s a classic semi with 2 good bedrooms (1 en-suite) and a third box room with single bed. The downstairs rooms were cosy and well equipped. The travel cot and high chair were much appreciated for our small children. Nice paved patio garden will be nice in the summer too.

Located in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales right on the Pennine way. The ground floor apartment overlooks the River Aire and has amazing views across the river and beyond. There are excellent walk/cycle routes right on the door step. Malham is a 2.5 mile walk along the river. Both guest bedrooms are clean and comfortable. 1 has an ensuite shower room and there is a family bathroom with shower. Both the kitchen and bathrooms are new (June 2017).
Welcome to our comfortable, ground floor apartment in the Grade II listed former Airton mill. Airton is a small village in the Yorkshire Dales 9 miles NW of Skipton (The Gateway to the Dales). The apartment has just finished a major conversion (June 2017) which includes a new kitchen, ensuite shower room and family bathroom and new heating throughout. The mill has communal gardens, a BBQ area and access to 'Frank's Land' which is a pretty wildflower meadow alongside the river. The location is gorgeous and is definitely the best place to be on a sunny day. In summer the river is ideal for young children to play in (supervised of course) and it even has its own 'beach' on the other side of it. It's also ideal for the less energetic to relax and watch all the wildlife on the river and in the field opposite. For the more energetic there are numerous breathtaking walks and bike rides right from the door step. The Pennine Way actually crosses along the other side of the river. Some of the Dales most popular sites like Malham Cove, Malham Tarn, Janet's Foss and Gordale Scar are all within walking distance (3 miles). The nearest shop is the excellent farm shop and tea room which is a 5/10 minute walk. There is a good pub 2 miles away in Kirby Malham.
  • What a lovely place to stay. The river running by the front door was crystal clear and babbling. Very clean, comfortable and well equipped for our stay. A lovely surprise to find a Christmas bottle of Prosecco and biscuit box to greet us. We'll definitely try and book again when we next come to visit our Yorkshire based relatives.

  • A spacious, sparkling clean apartment in a great location! Sarah is a great host and she had thought of lots of extras to leave that are really handy! There was also a really good collection of games and toys for rainy days. The bathrooms and kitchen were modern and in good working order and there was plenty of space throughout the apartment. Thank you for a lovely holiday! 😊

  • Fantastic place, with very thoughtful touches. A lot of toys for children (though that was reducing space for own clothes in the one bedroom). However the flat it spacious and offers a great base for exploring parts of the Yorkshire Dales. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and I can highly recommend it. Sarah was very helpful when we realised that we’ve left something behind and acted as communicator between us and the new guests. Thank you so much.

A unique and eclectic loft conversion in the heart of the quiet village of Carleton, 1.5 miles outside the popular market town of Skipton, 'Gateway to the Dales'. Offering seclusion, privacy and comfort, this is a great base for exploring the surrounding area. Carleton has a pub, a social club, a village store, a Post Office, a pharmacy, and direct bus links to Skipton during the week. The Pennine Way crosses the top of Carleton Moor and sections of 2014 Tour de France are on the doorstep.
The Loft is a third floor apartment, comprising a spacious living room with a smart TV including its own Netflix log in and DVD player, a well equipped kitchen, bathroom, secondary WC, bedroom, and private outdoor terrace. The apartment is very light and airy during the day; extremely cosy on a night, and at its best on a summer day when the terrace comes into its own, which is accessed directly from both the living room and bedroom.
A beautiful village in the Yorkshire Dales with a great sense of community.

Even has it's own Netflix login! And the location is fantastic for popping into the dales for walks. The village pub is across the street. We would definitely stay there again. It has all the kitchen and utility facilities needed (oven, hob, toaster etc and dishwasher, washing machine etc.). All in all, a fantastic place to stay.

Silsden is very pleasant and so close to Skipton and other places of interest. Very good value and great to be able to book just one night at a few days notice. I’d love to take our dog but don’t think he’d manage the steps, and I wouldn’t manage getting him up them... large Labrador! Nice to know dogs are welcome though.

  • A very comfortable, warm, attractive place to stay. The hosts were good communicators. I stayed in one of two available rooms which have a separate private entrance/keys, plenty of tea/coffee available, a large private spacious dining area and plenty of cereal/milk provided for breakfast. The bed was large and comfortable; the whole place was clean. Bathroom a good size with a lovely hot shower. Also an area on the large landing between the two bedrooms with books to read, and a sofa, and table and chairs, to sit at. There are quite a few stairs to climb - an external staircase to reach the front door, and stairs to the bedrooms. A very pleasant place to stay, with attentive and kind hosts. Highly recommended.

Our riverside cottage is on the River Aire in a quiet Yorkshire village near Skipton. It is a haven for wildlife and recently otters have been sighted in the river. Ideally placed for exploring the Yorkshire Dales. In addition to the river, Gargrave is on the Leeds Liverpool Canal and the Pennine Way. The village has two good pubs, a lovely tea room, a fish and chip shop, a local CoOp and several antique shops. Perfect for walkers, cyclists and anyone who enjoys a break in the country.
The cottage is near the village green and through an archway. Tea and coffee is provided.Small well behaved dogs are welcome. Please let us know if you intend to bring a canine friend. There is a returnable cleaning deposit of £20.
The Old Swan provides a friendly welcome and a good dining menu. There is a quaint tearoom and even an Indian restaurant. All are within easy walking distance.

Great location for walking in the countryside and along the canal, with Malham and all the associated walks around there close at hand, accessed either by bus or your own car within about 15 or so minutes. Village has two good log fire dog friendly pubs. Our first time in Gargrave, and would recommend staying here.

  • Gill is an amazing lovely lady ! She is so thoughtfull, social, polite and positive. I came to Skipton for a job interview and she even gave me nice tips for the interview. I felt totally like home and I was so relax even though I was extremely stressed before I was coming. I cant think a better and cleaner place to stay. Thanks Gill !

  • Gill’s beautiful home is tucked into a quiet street less than a five minute stroll from Skipton town. During my stay I arrived late but Gill was so welcoming. She showed me to my cosy single room and talked me through the house. The whole how was so warm and bright. The place was spotless! I was also made to feel very comfortable by Gill. She had brilliant tips on nightlife as I was only there for the evening. Not only that but she had a small selection of treats for breakfast in the morning. I highly recommend staying with Gill. 10/10 host, 10/10 service, 10/10 location. Thank you and hopefully I’ll be back again!

Tucked away in a tiny little village . this is a newly converted one bedroom apartment, all done to the highest standards, ultra modern yet very cumfy and cosy in an old converted mill set in the midst of the yorkshire dales, enjoying long distance views, with the ease and convenience of being only a 3 minute walk away from a small village train station. Also enjoying the benefit of parking for one car, you will be able to sit and relax on the balcony or go exploring in the yorkshire dales
Brand new, yet comfy and cosy apartment with private balcony, with magnificent views of the countryside.
very quiet area, in the midst of the countryside, whilst enjoying the benefit of 2 wonderful country pubs, and a village shop, and for the walkers, there are miles and miles of lanes and fields and moorland to go exploring, and also the Leeds Liverpool canal to have a wander along.
  • Excellently apartment. Can’t recommend highly enough

  • We had a fabulous time at Linda's gorgeous flat. It is a very luxurious conversion in an old Mill with some of the old features like the iron pillars, still retained. The views across the valley are stunning. The king size bed was comfortable as was the huge sofa. The kitchen is very well equipped for cooking. There is a lift up to the second floor and entry to the building is straightforward. We would have loved to have stayed longer and might return in the future. Thanks Linda

Situated in the picturesque North Yorkshire village of Cononley. Two village pubs and a quirky local shop. Train station 3 mins walk and 1 stop from the beautiful tourist town of Skipton. Easy access to Leeds or Bradford.
This is a beautiful, spacious and bright double room. There are tea and coffee making facilities in the room and guests are also welcome to make a cuppa in the fabulous kitchen. There is space to study in the bedroom if needed or you might like to simply relax with a glass of wine in our free standing bath! Plenty of room to hang clothes and there is a hairdryer - all ready for an evening out exploring.
Cononley is a very picturesque village nestled into beautiful countryside, just 3 miles south of the thriving tourist town of Skipton. Most houses in Cononley date back to the 17th Century, with recent innovative redevelopment of the former textile mill. There are 2 great pubs and a park with bowling green, cricket pitch and play area. Cononley pubs serve great food and Skipton is very close if you would like more choice. I am involved in Skipton's Meetup - you would be very welcome to join in any of our social events (Skipton has a great live music scene and some fantastic restaurants).

  • I stayed in Belle Vue House for a weekend visiting the Yorkshire Dales and hiking. The location is very quiet and there is normally an easy parking spot outside the house. The house is very nicely decorated with a huge super king bed and a separate twin room. The kitchen is well appointed and an espresso maker was a great touch. The 4 piece bathroom is a lovely touch with a good shower cubicle and a free standing bath. Nigel was extremely helpful with great communication throughout and there's a full guide to operating all the appliances written and available on arrival which was a very useful addition. Skipton is a lovely market town with lots of places to eat and drink throughout the day. A really good stay at great value.

  • The Railway is very conveniently situated close to the station and there's plenty of parking for those with cars. I was alone and had a lovely single room with every amenity I needed. It all looked very new and the bathroom was sparkling clean with a lovely shower. The bed was really comfortable with two large pillows and a cushion. There was a good choice of items for breakfast in the cosy restaurant. I didn't need the evening meal but the menu board looked like a very tasty selection. Carol was very friendly and helpful giving me clear directions to where I was going. I would fully recommend and definitely stay again.

Low Sanfitt Cottage is adjacent to our farmhouse home, although is not overlooked (apart from the sheep!) and offers complete privacy. We recently redecorated and refurbished the cottage and are delighted to offer a cottage decorated to a high standard.
Surrounded by open farmland and enjoys a quiet and peaceful location on the edge of The Yorkshire Dales National Park. The cottage is fully modernised offering character and charm with exposed beams, wood lintels, flagged floor and a fireplace with a multi-fuel stove for cosy nights in. The bathroom is conveniently situated on the ground floor.
We are lucky enough to live on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales and around 4 miles from Skipton, the gateway to the Yorkshire Dales and a similar distance to Ilkley, a gentile Victorian Spa Town.
  • Holly’s cottage is wonderful place to stay in Yorkshire!!! Fab location, very good facilities and wonderfully host. Thank you Holly, we hope to be back !!!

    Ines2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Holly’s place while in between houses as we had 3 weeks before we could get into our new place. It was perfect for us and our two dogs and did the job very nicely. The place and owners is very canine friendly, with dog biscuits, towels and blankets provided as standard! It is conveniently just off the main road, but far enough off it that you forget it’s there. While it is attached to Holy and Anthony’s house, you would never know it was. They have done a great job in separating them off so you have complete privacy. Ilkley and Addingham (both have loads of great pubs, restaurants and shops) are so close too, as are the Yorkshire Dales - you can see the foothills of the national park from the back windows), while Skipton is about 10-15 mins drive away too. Staying in February we saw the lot; bright sunshine, 50mph winds and 8” of snow on one morning followed by a full meltdown in the same day. The house was a cosy haven throughout and Holly kept us in logs and coals to keep us warm. The house is tastefully decorated and very well appointed, with great use of space. A fantastic open plan lounge/dining area, separate kitchen and a separate little living area on the landing outside the two bedrooms gives you all you need. If anything the photos on here may make it feel smaller than it is (don’t be fooled). As the listing mentions, the bathroom is on the ground floor, which was no issue for us but may be for some. It has very much been considered with a little torch in the bedside table for late night trips to the loo . Holly’s place comes very well recommended.

We went in autumn and enjoyed great days out - lots to see and do all within 30mins or less from this great location - and then enjoyed very relaxed evenings in this fabulous cottage in front of the log fire. Just perfect!

  • What a wonderful restful week we had with our two girls aged 11 & 9. Holly & Anthony were so welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. Our girls loved playing in the orchard with Elsa the dog and will miss her bundles of energy! A perfect location to visit so many places in the area and return in the evening to some home from home comforts. The brownies and wine were much appreciated too. Very comfortable beds and sofas. Amazing views filled with sheep and cows with some entertainment. Thanks for everything. ❤️

  • This is a lovely cottage to stay in. The place is stylish with all you’ll need plus lots of little touches to make the place special. The location is really good; within easy reach of Ilkley and Skipton and a walk to Addingham. Holly and her husband are friendly and responsive but happy to give you your privacy. The cottage was spotlessly clean and it really suited our family of two adults and two young children. I’d recommend it to anyone and would certainly come back.

  • A delightful escape - thank you Holly! Perfect family base for exploring the stunning surroundings of the national park and other local areas. Especially close to Bolton Abbey. Well equipped, very homely and comfortable - we had a fantastic time in the cottage with our young daughter. Great lounge for relaxing and practical kitchen, with comfy bedrooms and spottless bathroom. As well as a lovely little outside space to eat in good weather and great views of the local farmlife. We'd love to stay again in the future.

  • As one superhost to another thanks very much for going the extra mile that we as superhosts do ! We loved our stay with you. It was great to spend time chatting and thanks for the meal recommendation, The Old Swan Inn is lovely. Your house is welcoming, sparkling clean, stylish and has all the facilities we needed, as well as many little unexpected luxuries. We loved the shower room and the breakfast room, which we also spent time in before and after we went out to eat. Please carry on doing just what you do, as it's fab ! We will definitely come back when we're in the area and will tell others to come too.

  • Our visit was just a weekend but the location is great whether you want to visit Skipton, the attractions of this part of Yorkshire or for local walking. We parked outside but even if you drive a van there is a free car park very close by. We stayed in the White room which was fine for a couple and with a very good modern shower room just for our use next door while the other room is en-suite. It was very comfortable, very tastefully decorated by the host, Carol and sparklingly clean. Downstairs there is a tiny corner room with a mini fridge for guests to use if you want to keep something chilled or want to make a hot drink and for breakfast there is a separate dining room. There was juice and cereals available for self service and Carol makes a really good full English breakfast adapted for vegetarians if you ask. It turns out that two of Carol’s children are vegetarian and one is vegan so rest assured you won’t have any problem and I commented on the extra effort she had put into making mine with a really thoughtful touch to make it more enjoyable. Those thoughtful touches sum things up, any Air BnB can be clean, modern and have good amenities but it’s the host that makes it super and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend a stay here - Carol is a super host.
