The accommodation is a separate annex to our cottage and benefits from private access, bathroom and of course bedroom. The accommodation is accessed up some external steps and thus regrettably is unsuitable for less abled guests. The main accommodation is a large room with conservation windows looking out onto our wild flower and pumpkin patch. The room has a double bed, chaise longue, smart TV, fridge, kettle and an assortment of teas (including fruit teas) and drinks.
Mayfield Cottage is situated in a conservation area. The views to the valley are spectacular, with elevated woodland within which is the Hermitage. In the spring, the woods are awash with bluebells and attract much local admiration. The valley is a haven for ornithologists - merlins, hobbys and ravens can be seen within the valley together with woodpeckers and the ever circling buzzards. We have a resident tawny owl in the garden, frequently seen during daylight hours.
Dale Abbey is an exquisite monastic village located in open countryside between Derby and Nottingham. There are beautiful views of the ancient abbey ruins, the remnants of which make up many of the properties in the village, including our own.
  • Amazing cute little place with perfect hospitality from the owners! The best part was the breakfast hamper in the morning & the check out time to be able to enjoy both the accommodation & the hamper :) a great little touch! The owners are very nice people and helped us where needed. Highly recommended, very clean, easily accessible & in the countryside. Lovely to wake up to :) Thank you!

  • What an incredible, beautiful, cosy and quiet place this is. The little touches were perfect, small fridge and plenty of choice for a tea or coffee and the breakfast hamper was delicious, fresh bread, butter, jams, marmalade’s as well as fresh orange juice and a choice of cereals. The space was warm and comfortable as well as being immaculate. Will definitely consider staying here again.

  • The best airbnb experience I have ever had. The bed was amazing, the facilities to make tea, with milk in the fridge on arrival and the room was heated for us to walk into. Cannot recommend enough.

    Tom2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Tim and Alisons Airbnb and hospitality was brilliant, we felt really welcome and could not have hoped for more during our stay. The breakfast hamper was really thoughtful, as well as the mini Lindt bunny’s on the side. The room is nice and cosy, very comfortable bed and quiet surroundings. We would love to stay again!

My home is in a good location. Close to shops and outdoor spaces. It is open plan so unless I’m not in the house your privacy would be limited.
The house is on the outskirts of Nottingham where there are good transport links into the city centre about 8 miles away. I am close to East Midlands airport. A taxi will cost £25 each way. I may be able to drop off or collect for a small charge.
I am in easy walking distance to Giltbrook retail park where you can shop at Ikea, Decathlon, Next, TKMAX amongst others. There is a Starbucks, Costa, Frankie and Benny’s, Pizza Express and Nando’s. Close to J26 of the M1 so good transport links and a good base to explore Derbyshire Peak District and Sherwood Forest.

Highfield Cottage is a perfect destination to enjoy at any time of the year
  • Bob and Marion were great hosts and were able to provide great local knowledge. House was great and would recommend to anyone.

    Kenn2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Highfield Cottage was one of the nicest AirBnbs I have stayed at. Not only was it a great location to get to Derby or Nottingham, but the house itself was outstanding. Very stylish, particularly the kitchen and bathroom, and it was packed with everything you'd need for a stay away, and then some. It was extremely clean and a well thought out design which made it wonderful to stay in. On top of all this was the icing on the cake, Bob and Marion. The friendliest hosts I've met and they were genuinely interested in us and making us feel welcome. The muffins and prosecco on our arrival were such a thoughtful touch. If you're thinking of coming to this area, Highfield Cottage should be number one on your list!

    Thomas2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • Bob and Marion’s cottage is fabulous! Warm, comfortable, very spacious , spotlessly clean, a real home from home with absolutely everything you need. I would wholeheartedly recommend a stay here. Many thanks Bob and Marion. X

Our family den can be yours for the night if you wish! Tucked away on the side of our house, it's where we come to unwind, but we're more than happy for you to use it for a night! Inside, you'll find a nice sofa bed, shower/toilet utility room with washing machine/dryer and an iron if you need it. Being a den/man cave, its got Satellite TV, DVDs and (a rare treat) a plethora of Video games consoles ranging from 1980's Atari's to modern day Xbox's - you're more than welcome to play!
There's on road parking right outside the house, a private entrance onto a little decking area.
Our house is on a quiet little street about 5 minutes from the main road serving Eastwood town center and down to the A610 junction. Across the road is a pub that in the very near future will be doing food - it's 'local' but friendly. We're about a 5 minute drive from the A610, 10 minutes from the M1 and a 5 minute walk from a bus stop serving Nottingham City Center within around 40 minutes. There's also a great butchers 2 minutes down the road that does fantastic hot cobs, sandwiches and cakes if that takes your fancy.
  • Very nice family room was always clean N they were ever so helpful Very quick on replying and very helpful in local knowledge

  • Great hosts, Great space, Great stay! With having my one year old son with me I needed an en suite, so was happy to find ‘The Den’ at such a great price. Hosts were great, very friendly and helpful. The sliding door from The Den goes into the hosts kitchen but they were so respectful regarding any noise. The room is great, lovely and warm all the time, fab shower, it even had a chalk wall for my little one to draw on. He loved it! We stayed for three nights and will definitely return if I need to be in the area again. Thanks for a great stay guys 😊

Situated in the beautiful village of West Hallam, conveniently located near to East Midlands International Airport, and with great transport links, our house is the perfect venue for work or leisure. Guests will benefit from an impressive array of friendly, traditional pubs, cafes and shops all within easy walking distance. Private: double bedroom, shower room, large, comfortable living room with log burner and views over the countryside beyond. Shared beautiful open plan kitchen diner.
The large living room is totally private and for your use only. I'm an avid reader so there are lots of books to read if you forget to bring your own. I'm a particular fan of D.H.Lawrence (whose birthplace is only a short drive away) so there are a few of his books on the shelves. The log burner makes the room particularly cosy on cold winter nights and with uninterrupted views over the garden and the countryside beyond you can admire the view from the comfort of the large sofa.
West Hallam prides itself on its community spirit and hosts the Well Dressing Festival (with a scarecrow trail) every year at the beginning of July; The West Hallam Show, (a gardening extravaganza) in September and the Christmas Light Switch On in early December. There are several well attended churches, successful football and cricket teams and the usual groups for youngsters. There is a very small shopping area in the village where you'll find pretty much everything you could possibly need: doctors surgery, pharmacy, Tesco Express, post office, Chinese takeaway, a fish and chip shop, a pizzeria and an Indian takeaway.

The bed was the most comfy thing I’ve slept on! We literally knocked out as soon as we got into it! I’d 10000% come and stay here again! Perfect for a little get away! We even got complimentary breakfast! What more could we possibly ask for!

  • Firstly I like to comment on how incorrect the last review was, Emma is very good at communication, I messaged her a couple of times and both times she answered my questions, I was up here visiting family, we were eating in Belper which is less than 5 minutes away in a car. The bungalow itself is beautifully decorated and has some lovely features, there is cereal, bread, butter, jam, milk, orange juice, tea, eggs and coffee provided. The bed is so comfortable and the walk in shower is amazing. It is private and not overlooked by any houses. I love the fact I could let myself in via a keysafe as I chose a self-contained place as I love my privacy. I will definitely be back as it is a wonderful place to stay.

From a section of breakfast options, a bottle of sparkling non alcoholic wine on arrival and luxury shower products Ros has done an amazing job at making the place so welcoming. We will be back again! Thank you for having us.

  • A fantastic stay

    Lauren2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at the White House Garden Cottage on New Years Eve and what a lovely evening we had celebrating the new year! The cottage was immaculate and the finishing touches made it feel like a home away from home! We especially enjoyed watching the free roaming chickens! The place itself is only 10 minutes away from Derby town so we decided to spend our evening being wined and dined before retreating to the peace and quiet. In the morning we took advantage of the location and went for a walk at Shipley Country Park not far away. If you don’t fancy the short drive there are plenty of other places nearby to get some fresh air! The cottage itself is beautiful and the hospitality was second to none. We would recommend this stay in a heartbeat! Thanks so much for having us Ros and family!

A double bedroom with views over fields and an archway leading to a sitting room area. Various teas and coffees are provided, and there is a table which can be used as a desk. There is also an en-suite bathroom with a bath/shower.
We have a hot tub in the garden, and a small indoor swimming pool. The pool is kept fairly cool and is bliss on a hot day. It has an Endless Pool current generator to enable swimming. There is also a shower in the pool room. We can also offer Electric Vehicle charging.
We are close to the Derbyshire towns of Belper and Ripley and are about ten miles north of Derby. We are about a mile from the Denby Pottery.
  • Delightful from start to finish. Marianne is a wonderful host. Incredible value for money. We used the hot tub into the early evening which was fantastic, and had the most wonderful breakfast made by Marianne (including her delicious home baked bread). We will definitely be recommending to others :)

  • A lovely home, where you get to enjoy being treated as one of the family. The room is great, in fact its the size of a hotel suite, with separate chill out area and a work-space too. You can chill and relax into the night with quick swim and then a hot tub, then a yummy breakfast awaits you in the morning. I look forward to returning next time I am in the area.

  • Booked a very last minute stay (booked day before) and Marrianne was flexible with our arrival time. Arrived to the smell of freshly baked bread which we enjoyed as part of the lovely breakfast spread the next morning. Went straight to the hot tub as we arrived, was lovely and relaxing even in December. Everything we needed was provided in the room, towels, robes, toiletries and flip flops for pool/hot tub. There is TV, radio, a sofa, kettle, games and books in your room. Comfortable bed. Can't fault the stay! Took a trip to the nearby Denby Pottery Centre the next morning. ☺ Thank you Marrianne it was just what we needed. Would stay again x

  • Marianne and Ed have opened their home and their warmth to us during our stay. They offer such a pleasant and friendly experience and the breakfast is to die for! Would thoroughly recommend.

    Charlie2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • A great little retreat! We visited Nottingham to celebrate a birthday before driving across to Kilburn. I contacted Marianne to tell her we would be arriving later than originally planned, she replied very quickly saying it wasn't a problem. On arrival, we had a warm welcome by Marianne who was baking bread for the next morning! The room was exactly as stated and extremely clean. Marianne and Ed had even left a birthday card! Everything had been thought about, from your essentials such as tea and coffee, to those added extras such as robes and flip flops to use for the hot tub. The hot tub itself was perfect, just a short walk down the garden (past the ducks!) and you arrive at a large, clean hot tub, perfect for a cold evening. The bed was very comfortable and the house is quiet. A continental breakfast the next morning was brilliant. Served with the amazing fresh bread baked the night before, along with a wide range of cured hams, cheeses, fresh fruit, cereals and much more! Highly recommended accommodation for a get away.

Sizeable bathroom with bathtub & shower. Use of the kitchen with tea, coffee etc provided. Basic breakfast available. Lounge with TV, dining room, patio and deck. Close to local bus links to Nottingham and Derby and station with regular trains to Nottingham, Sheffield and Leeds. Canalside walk/cycle path 2 mins walk away.

Ilkeston is a fairly large and lively town with shops and lots of pubs & cafes. The house is a 2-minute walk from the delightful Erewash canal with many charming properties and a number of pubs backing onto it; a popular route for canal boats in the summer - and a few year-round canal boat dwellers - the canal toepath has recently been upgraded as a cycle path and footpath.

  • Joanna has a lovely home, very modern and clean. She is most welcoming.

    Lee2019-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • I booked at very short notice but this didn’t bother Joanna at all. She was very welcoming and made me feel at home from the minute I arrived. The houses is immaculately decorated and furnished, as well as spotlessly clean. The bed was very comfortable indeed, and the shower was easy to operate and basically first class. Very good indeed overall.

  • We thoroughly enjoyed staying with Joanna. Her hospitality was exceptional and made us both feel very welcome. The property is beautifully decorated, and in a lovely quiet new estate. I would thoroughly recommend Joanna's Property and would not hesitate to stay with her again.

Small, comfy room in quiet home in the Derbyshire countryside. Near to walks, shops, pubs and easy access to A38 and A610 if travelling. 30 mins from the Peak District. Close to Derby and Nottingham. Suitable for single females or couples. Dog friendly, with a large fully enclosed garden.
Located in Denby near Denby Pottery and set in lovely countryside, this make a perfect place to relax for a few days or with its easy access to A38 and A610 a homey nights stop travelling the country. The bedroom is located upstairs and though the bathroom is not ensuite it is private and in separate nook along with guest bedroom. There are tea and coffee making facilities in the bedroom though guests are more than welcome to use the kitchen for a cuppa and also cooking (as long as they clean up after themselves). We do have a dog, Leia, she's a cockapoo so hypoallergenic, and very friendly. She'll be following us around so she shouldn't bother you. I offer a breakfast of cereals and toast but if you would like a cooked breakfast let me know and we will be happy to whip one up for you at an extra charge, please let us know of any dietary requirements. We are a 10 minutes walk from a few gastro pubs or only a couple minutes drive, if they don't take your fancy we can always make a little extra of our dinner. The room has TV and of course wifi. Guests are also welcome to have use of our DVD’s, PS games and books for other entertainment. We happily accept dogs, but they would have to be friendly to get on with our dog. We have a large, fully enclosed garden and plenty of walks right out the door. The room is on the small side so probably not so suitable for larger dogs. We’d prefer females or couples please. We also have a small single room available if needed for an extra charge of £10 for an extra person or £5 if two of you don’t want share. It is further down the hallway but would still use the same bathroom.
We're a village nearby to towns so a nice get away without being too far from the shops. We have two good pubs nearby all with friendly locals. Its a very safe area, all the neighbours know each other and we keep an eye on one another.
  • This was our first experience of using Airbnb, in our trip we stayed in 3 other properties and this was by far the best. It was like a luxury hotel, lots of little touches that made it far better than we could have imagined. This was not just for the two legged guests but our four legged friend. Alex has a wonderful understanding of dogs and their needs. Cannot recommend this property more highly.

    Diane2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • Highly recommend! Alex was a fantastic, welcoming and accomodating host! The house was great too, really stylish, warm, cosy and comfortable. Sparkling clean too!

  • This was our first time staying in an Airbnb and certainly won’t be the last. This was booked for my birthday and we had a brilliant time making use of the fantastic facilities. We particularly enjoyed the pool table and cinema room! Dan and Laura were extremely helpful and could not have done more to accommodate us during our stay. Even down to the thoughtful welcome gifts. The local area is great too, we went to the lion hotel for champagne breakfast which I would recommend. Would love to stay here again, thanks very much for a brilliant getaway!

A spacious Victorian house in Kimberley, Nottingham. Only 2 minutes walk to local buses to Nottingham or a 5 minute drive to free park and ride tram service to Nottingham. A warm, authentic victorian room furnished with antique writing cabinet and drawers, 3/4 double bed, bedside table, underdraw and external wardrobe. Full use of the house offers a good sized bathroom, living room and large kitchen. The garden is work in progress over the summer months. There is off road parking available
The room is very spacious and Kimberley is a lovely Brewery town with some great pubs. The property is 150 metres away from countryside so great for country walks and an excellent bus route for going into Nottingham City, Rainbow 1. There is also a night bus that runs over the weekend.
  • Lovely stay, super easy and flexible check in, lovely host (Danielle). Didn’t meet Luke but Danielle went above and beyond for us, lovely place great value for money.

Cosy self-contained annex 1 mile from Belper Town centre with pubs, supermarkets and beautiful walks nearby. It is large enough for a maximum of two guests. Free parking and WiFi. Not suitable for people with mobility problems due to the stair case.
The self contained annex is on the side of my property, you have your own access. Downstairs is the kitchen with a breakfast bar and lounge area. The kitchen has a fridge, full fan oven and a 5 burner hob as well as a microwave and a washing machine. Upstairs is a double bed - word of warning - there is restricted access to the far side of the bed due to the eaves, you do have to duck your head on this side. There is an en-suite with shower, wash hand-basin and toilet.
This property is within walking distance to a local pub which provides great food. Belper town has many cafes, shops and restaurants.
  • Really went the extra mile, really pleasant place to stay. Jane was a great host. Would highly recommend.

  • Very pleased with my stay at Jane’s place. I stayed for three weeks as it was located perfectly for work. The property itself was clean and Jane was very welcoming and accommodating at all times andchecked that I had everything I needed. The place is fully equipped and Jane made a point of ensuring all bedding, towels and toilet rolls were changed each week. I would highly recommend the property. You can’t control whether the heating is on/off as this is done from the main property but Jane made it very clear that I could contact her at anytime to request it. Thank you for such a lovely stay!

Chatterley House is so named due to its close historical links with the famous author D.H. Lawrence, who was born just up the road. In its former life the building has been a school and a hotel, then In 2014 this extensive property was converted into a very large family home by the current owners. Two en-suite double rooms with their own separate entrance are available in this very large Rural Family Property, and the current owners have opened up part of their extensive home to guests.
The property is well situated between the cities of Derby and Nottingham. There is a train station within a 5 minute walk, which takes 11 minutes direct into Nottingham City centre, with all the attractions such as the legend of Robin Hood and Nottingham Castle, plus the galleries of justice and Nottingham caves. Nottingham also has great night life, with many bars and restaurants to visit. Derby City is only a 20 minute car or taxi journey, and we are well situated for plenty of 24 hr supermarkets, bars, fast food outlets and retail outlets such as Ikea, Next,Decathlon, Costa's, Pizza Express and Pappa John's pizza, Nando's, KFC, Mcdonalds (24hr opening), and more close by.... In this semi rural location, you can enjoy walks or cycle rides down the canal, and free use of our gym and full size table tennis table to keep adults or kids occupied during your stay. The property is also on the edge of the Derbyshire countryside, with tourist towns such as Matlock and Buxton just 30-45 minutes drive away. We also have a kitchen/diner for use next to the rooms, that can be used by guests, containing microwave, kettle, fridge, washing machine, toaster and unlimited tea/coffee making facilities (Please see photo's). Although please note that there are no cooking facilities and WE DO NOT provide English cooked breakfasts, we provide items within this kitchen area for guests use, such as cereals, toast, jam, eggs, tea, orange, coffee and milk that allow guests the flexibility to do their own breakfast as and when they require. We find that this offers more flexibility to guests, especially with young children, and makes a great place to eat food or takeaways, as it can seat up to 8 guests, and has a large TV with Netflix (allowing guests to log into their own account, plus multiple tv channels.
  • Great place to stay with a nice room to make your own breakfast with cereal and bread provided. Very easy check in and check out process. Great stay.

    Rebecca2020-02-23T00:00:00Z

  • What a delightful place to stop! The place was beautifully appointed, tasteful, modern, quiet and comfortable. The hosts were very friendly and easy to chat with, ordering a taxi for us and even greeting us with a bottle of beer following our nightmare train journey. The breakfast choice was lovely (we had cereal and fruit juice and even boiled a couple of eggs for the return journey). An idyllic setting, literally a few minutes walk from the train station and great links into town. Would highly recommend for a relaxing break or overnight stop! Five stars for sure!

    James2019-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • A great annex off the main house with beautiful bedrooms, a great kitchen/dining area and a huge space with gym equipment and ping pong table. We stayed with our 9 month old daughter who had lots of space to crawl around and explore. There were lots of extras and my parents (who were babysitting while we went to a wedding) found lots to do around the accommodation all day. A really enjoyable and easy stay and highly recommended. Richard is so welcoming and kind and I would 100% stay again x

    Becky2019-02-03T00:00:00Z

Take refuge at The Coven - a lovely spacious Victorian Terrace. Conveniently located between Nottingham and Derby. Your private room is spacious, bright and peaceful with a comfortable double bed, black out curtains, bedside table, mirror, clothes rack and TV. Within walking distance of shops, gym, swimming pool and country park. Easy connections to local cities by bus or train or 20-30 minutes drive if you have a car. My partner, our very mushy Labrador and I look forward to hosting you.
Your private room has a comfortable double bed on the 1st floor, bedside table, cupboard, clothing rack, large mirror and TV in the room, there is wifi throughout the house. The shared bathroom is downstairs on the ground floor with a toilet, bath and shower. Guests always come first and there are fresh towels in your room. Please help yourself to tea, coffee, fruits, cereal, bread, butter, jam etc. As well as spices and oils if you feel like cooking! The dining room is ideal for relaxing meal times but also feel free to use the table if you need a space for working in... it seats 6 so plenty of room to spread out work and the room has a really nice energy to it. Whether you are travelling for work or leisure I hope you'll feel at home here and please feel free to make use of the other rooms especially the kitchen, dining room and living room and outdoor terrace area (which is a bit of a sun trap!) as you please.
In the small historic town of Ilkeston, the house is a 2 minute walk to Aldi and Tesco as well as the main high street, where you can find banks, pharmacies, clothes shops, pubs, a small cinema etc. and a market on the weekends. There is also a lovely little cafe round the corner called The Factory Kitchen, they do a great breakfast, lunch and they are open for Tapas on the weekends (they also have some great veggie and vegan options!). Alterantively there is a also a great chippy, dominos, chinese, thai and inidian within walking distance. If you fancy a Sunday Roast, head round to The Durham Ox or walk over the Newdigate through the park. If you enjoy a short walk, there is a beautiful Victorian park round walk to stretch your legs or if you fancy walking a bit further you can walk into Shipley Country park from here and stop off at the Nutbrook Cafe en route! The old Cinema "The Scala" is very cute and at £6 per ticket worth checking out what is on - they only have 1 screen so if you're looking for film choice head to the city!
  • Clean and welcoming. Very close to town centre yet quiet. No en suite but great value and great hosts more than made up for that. Thoroughly recommended.

  • A lovely local town home that is clean, spacious and friendly, and with an easy walk to the high street or local park. We were welcomed into their home with a lovely cuppa, and there were such lovely touches such as a greeting chalk board, roses in the room, water and snacks. Kristie and Chris are wonderful hosts, with plenty of international travel experience and providing local information, great conversations and personal privacy balance. Totally recommend a visitto kristie and Chris' home if you're looking to stay near Nottingham / Derby and experience the local hospitality.
