I would highly recommend staying here. Host is welcoming and very responsive with communication. The photos do not do the accommodation justice as it is larger than it looks. Spacious open plan area, spotlessly clean, great shower and comfortable for all the family. We all slept very well and hope to return soon. Fantastic views and lovely area. A lovely converted brick barn, warm, cozy, clean and tidy, very well kept. Being welcomed with fresh eggs from the chickens in the garden, bread, tea, coffee and milk made our short stay all the more relaxed.

We had a great weekend here! The barn is much bigger than it looks from the photos, and very well equipped. The chickens are very friendly and we enjoyed the delicious fresh eggs left out for us! This was a great base for us to explore Dorset.

This is a lovely place to stay and Maryanne is the perfect host. There was fresh flowers, milk and home made cakes to greet us and Maryanne even gave us extra towels for the muddy paws on our 4 legged friends. The kitchen in this property is also brilliantly equipped! So nice to be able to prepare real food as all the utensils are available! I’d definitely go back here again!

Staying at Ridge Farm Annexe was a delightful - after staying in apartments or one-room accommodation it felt very luxurious to stretch out over multiple rooms! Wonderfully clean, a comfortable sitting room to relax in, charming and communicative hosts - would definitely recommend, and stay there again if we get the chance.

Thank you for being a greats host, would highly recommendand stay again. We were there during storm dennis so lots of floods about and we ended up staying extra night. Mark and Madeline were excellent at making sure we were ok and had everything we needed. Very dog friendly super area for visiting Dorset. Would stay again 😀

A great location for exploring Dorset towns - Sturminster Newton, Sherborne and National Trust houses. Farm annex spotlessly clean and everything you could need for a relaxing break. Right in the countryside for great dog walks - highly recommend.

We loved staying at the Ridge Farm Annex. The place was spotlessly clean and very well equipped with everything we could possibly need. It is surrounded by beautiful farm land and greenery. We went on lovely country walks nearby. Madeline and Mark made us feel very welcome and offered lots of useful information. They were very patient with the additional noise that our 3 month old created and provided a cot, in which she slept very comfortably. We had a great stay and will be coming again when in the area.

We had a lovely stay at Lockett's Farm in beautiful Dorset countryside. It was nice to wake up and see the horses just outside the window. Everything was clean and the kitchen was well stocked with utensils. Communication was great and we appreciated the use of the travel cot - our 9 month old slept like a dream!

Beautiful little flat with the added touch of a bottle of wine on arrival, which was hugely appreciated. Extremely clean, bright and welcoming place with the added charm of chickens, horses & dogs running around. We couldn’t have chosen a better location and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Huge props to Lucy & Mike for their beautiful home and letting us stay.

Just returned from a fantastic three days at Lucy and Mike’s stylish apartment, in a stunning setting . We loved being surrounded by their horses and dogs. So peaceful, with lots of lovely little touches, such as complimentary wine, fresh flowers and fresh eggs and bacon. Bed so comfortable and long walks behind the farm! We’ll be back!

Lovely, calm and quiet. Home from home

Katie was a brilliant host, she looked after us very well. We had a really lovely time in the warm cosy annexe, even through storm Dennis! It was spotless, and a really great size. We went to the nearby Cerne Abbas brewery for some delicious beers, and then up to see the Cerne Giant! We loved the beautiful pub Brace of Pheasants in nearby village Plush too! This was an idyllic place to stay! Exactly what we needed for some well needed peace and quiet. Katie and her family were the perfect hosts. The annex was private, clean and extremely comfortable. Had everything we needed. Set in beautiful gardens and over looking fields. There were even deer! The village was lovely as were the surrounding ones. Loads to do and explore. We would definitely love to go back again.

An amazing place for a relaxing get away. The annexe was spotless and had everything we needed for a short break, plus personal touches throughout which were lovely. There is lots to explore locally and some great pubs. Chris and Jenna are clearly such thoughtful people and wonderful hosts, and Jennas cooked breakfasts was simply delicious. We can't wait to return for longer next year!

What a great little find! The annex is perfect for a couple of nights away and set in a beautiful area. Particular highlight was the cooked breakfast and cuddles from the various dogs there. Planning to return to explore more of Dorset.

Chris and Jenna's hospitality was exceptional. Although we only stopped for one night we got the feeling that nothing would have been too much for them both. Being set back from the road the accommodation was very quiet. There were many little extras provided such as tea, coffee, drinking chocolate, milk and a choice of shower gels etc. The breakfast which is included was fantastic. We would definitely recommend and consider visiting again.

The location and ambience of the home is outstanding, accompanied by excellent communications and an amazing welcome. Everything is as listed, but the attention to detail on the amenities (speciality teas, cake, etc) were above and beyond our expectations. Not forgetting the awesome breakfast. The welcome and local knowledge that was shared by Chris & Jenna was also very useful, but surpassed by the friendly welcome yet professional approach that made the stay perfect.

Chris & Jenna were perfect hosts, we chose Bed & breakfast option, breakfast was 'to die for' with fresh duck eggs and enough to keep you going for the day. Accommodation was perfect, lots of little personal touches, lovely thought out space. Perfect location to explore the beautiful Dorset countryside. A definite return in future years to explore more.

Breakfasts are absolutely gorgeous. Hospitality is first class. Accommodation is extremely comfortable. Peace and quiet and views across the fields are amazing. From the first point of contact on arrival to good byes when you go were extremely delightful.

We really enjoyed staying @ the Bolt Hole. Arabella, is a great host. She answered all our questions and helped us settle in in no time. Very good knowledge of the local area and what her guests need. Best of all, the location is perfect to just turn off and relax. Private space and garden that we enjoyed. Easy access to the seaside: highly recommend Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door[get there before 1 if you need parking on site]. You’d love it if you want to go for a run or walks. Bella recommended all the best places. I could go on and on: easily 5-Star Host and location!!

Manor Farm is accurately described. Clean and comfortable. Fantastic scenery and lots of places to visit. So we had a great week at the ‘estate’ of our lovely hosts Jeremy and Arabella (thanks for the bouquet of flowers).

The property is located in a very beautiful rural area and on a great farm with a great garden. We rented the small apartment. This is really small but well equipped and quite comfortable. We spent three nights at the farm and would prefer more space for a longer stay. The hosts are incredibly warm and helpful and have great tips. For the area of England to explore a good choice.

The name says it all, ‘The Bolt Hole’, it’s a little haven in a rural area in Dorset but by car it is possible to get to everywhere you may wish to visit. The accommodation was comfortable, there was a very welcome breakfast welcome pack. We had an enthusiastic welcome and very congenial hosts. We would go back again.

My partner, myself and baby had a very restful stay. Arabella was a great, attentive host who greeted us with brownies and basics in the fridge to make our stay comfortable. The bolt hole is clean and the surroundings absolutely stunning. Would definite revisit. Jane

Patty’s place is very lovely, the property feels as if it’s been well cared for, the grounds are stunning and the tropical fruit house is so lovely and warm on a February morning! Would definitely stay again.

We enjoyed two nights in the Coach House, after long blustery walks on the Jurassic coastline (about 40 mins drive away). The photos on the listing do not do the grounds of the property justice - the gardens and surrounding fields are outstanding. We also indulged on Patty’s cooking on one of the evenings - highly recommend! There is also a pub 3 mins away which served decent pub grub. It was our first time exploring Dorset and we can’t wait to come back.

Gordon and Patty are excellent hosts and made us feel very welcome. Their home is beautiful and the gardens are a delight to walk around. The accommodation is self contained, very clean, comfortable and well equipped.

If you are looking for a truly rural retreat this is the place to come to. The views are magnificent across the Dorset countryside with horses, sheep and cows happily grazing in the fields. Patty is an excellent host, a delight to talk to but not in the least intrusive. She left some lovely touches of fresh eggs from her free range hens, homemade marmalade, bread and milk.

The most dreamy escape to the English countryside. We were blown away by the beautiful grounds, the local sights and the cozy carriage house. From the line dried towels to the fresh eggs from the farm, Patty thought of everything! Just what we needed for a relaxing stay away from the city.

We were looking for a short break during the half term, with lots of indoor and outdoor activities for our kids (10 yrs, 6yrs, 7 months). The indoor heated pool and the activity room were god sent especially because couldn't do a lot of outdoorsy stuff as our little one was under the weather. The living space was spacious and clean and the location was stunning. Great getaway for all of us! Would love to revisit!

We had a lovely weekend visit with our three kids aged 10 and under. We particularly enjoyed the indoor heated swimming pool. Claire was helpful in answering questions about nearby activities before we arrived to help us to plan our stay.

We had a lovely family break with our three children, 13,12 and 11 years old. The pool, outside space and indoor games room kept them busy. Claire made contact before we arrived and was there to meet us on the eve and showed us around. Lots of freedom to explore the grounds and do your own thing. Lovely and clean cottage and plenty of space.

Beautiful accommodation in rural Dorset. Spotlessly clean with everything you need for a relaxing holiday. Great facilities with warm pool, sauna, trampolines and games room. Went as a family of 5 (3 kids aged 8 and under) and would definitely recommend.

Great cottage, beautiful location and exceptional host

Piers cottage is a peaceful and wonderful place in the countryside. Perfect for bigger groups or two small families. It is well equiped and very clean. The village Ibberton is also worth a visit. It has a nice pub with good food and a lovely historic church just behind the cottage up the Hill. If you go further you reach the Dorset Ridgeway with fantatic views. We enjoyed our stay very much and would love to go there again! Bit: It takes half an hour to drive to the Coast.

In one word: Fantastic !!! The location in the beautiful nature, the tranquility, the space, the cottage. Carolyn and Koos are extremely helpful and involved with a very personal approach for their guests. The cottage itself is equipped with all comforts: nothing is missing here, everything has been thought of. Nicely decorated with a lot of love for detail. It is also a fantastic stay for people with disabilities because there are many facilities available. Special beds, lowered counter top, no thresholds or stairs. There is even a swimming pool with a special lift. In short, highly recommended ....

We recently stayed at The Victorian Barn over Xmas with 7 adults, and 2 kids. We stayed in Beatrice cottage on the Victorian Barn. The property is amazing, with all the amenities you could ask for. So nice to enjoy a lovely spa after a day exploring the coast. The barn is only 40minutes from Lulworth cove so perfect for exploring. Claire and Penny were great with communication and so accommodating to anything we needed. Would definitely recommend!

A family of 9 stayed in Beatrice, had a lovely stay, the setting is beautiful and the facilities are very good. Ideally located to visit Poole, Bournemouth & Weymouth. will be returning.

Beautiful cottage/barn. The space is great for large groups and all the rooms very good size with en suite. Facilities are great, private hot tub and shared pool and games rooms were fantastic. Location is perfect for country walks or trips to the sea. Would highly recommend.

Our stay at Beatrice House at the The Victorian Barn was very comfortable and perfect for our hen party weekend. Beds were cosy, kitchen had everything you would need for a group of 10, hot tub was amazing and the space matched our need a perfectly with a long table that could fit us all round with plenty of seating. Will definitely use again !

Huge open plan downstairs, hot tub a welcome addition to a winter evening! We had a great stay, even though there were others staying at the Victorian Barn, it seemed very secluded.

We were a big group and all our friends had a fantastic time. Weather wasn't good but that didn't stopped us ti explore indoor and front side open space and amenities. Everyone really had a good time. We love to go back again .

Honestly amazing place, so clean, every room had an en suite, huge and lovely! It was perfect for us as we were here for a long weekend but the closest pub is a 30-45 minute walk, there’s a big Tesco around a 20 minute drive away and you have to book taxis a few days in advance if you do want them, so if you’re planning on staying longer or going out a lot, bear that in mind. Overall amazing stay and we will be coming back!

This is a lovely cottage! Perfect for a winter getaway as the two wood-burning stoves make it very cosy. Lovely decor and setting, and very good communication from Eliza. We stayed over Christmas and she'd put up a tree, which was a lovely touch.

The cottage was beautifully situated with the most divine garden and lawn. The summer house was a delight for the kids and I would highly recommend this place. Everything was thought through really well.

What a great cottage. Amazing gardens, quiet hamlet, lovely log fires and lots of logs ready to go. Very well 'done' inside with a great style. Small shower not suitable for larger frames if you have one (you've been warned!) Wi Fi not working on our visit at all so if it's essential for yours check with host first that it's fixed. Bedrooms great size, lovely country kitchen, the conservatory is cute and a nice place to spend time. Upstairs bedroom is open plan (no door separating from hallway on floor below) so bare that in mind for noise transfer (cough cough). Village has ZERO amenities, no phone reception but neighbours are lovely and their sheep William likes to come over to the summerhouse for a biscuit or three! Local pub the Antelope is rubbish really so you will have to drive to the pub. Local shop (Spar) is small and only really for non-perishable items but Sherbourne (20 mins) has a Waitrose thankfully! Overall a really really nice and cute place and would 100% stay again.

Thank you Eliza for our wonderful stay over the new year. The house was a perfect rural getaway to see in 2016. The house was as described as on the air bnb website, if not better on our arrival. The cottage was fully equiped for our stay and was the perfect place to relax. There was ample room for the 6 of us and the bedrooms were beautifully made up with extra blankets and bath and hand towels left for us to use also. Your excellent communication and information really helped us make the most of the cottage and our stay. Many thanks.

Lovely place. Very clean. A lot more spacious than we thought. Must be prepared to travel to places as very remote. Good job we had a satnav as would have got lost. Saying that it was a very quiet peaceful place & didn't hear a thing at night. Get a very good nights sleep here!

What an amazing gem of a place in the middle of Dorset. Easy to find, loads of amenities with super professional hosts. Our house was clean and has everything you need. Ample amount of room for a family of 4. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay while taking in that incredible view. *****Five Stars *****

Very peaceful welcoming setting, pool sauna and hot tubs are very clean and well maintained. The lodges are comfortable and basic but have everything you could need.

Can happily recommend the Victorian Barn for a family get away. Amenities were great- the grounds are lovely (check out the fishing lakes!) and the cottage we stayed in was thoughtfully equipped. Our car broke on our second day there and although this meant our planned day trips were cancelled, the kids had plenty to keep themselves occupied onsite. The games room is well stocked, there's a huge playground, the heated pool is lovely and clean and we had so much fun wandering around the site we totally forgot to try out the hot tub! Claire and her husband were very helpful - driving off to pick up my stranded partner and kindly relaying messages to us over the next 24 hours as our (vodafone) mobile reception was poor. Result: what could have been a complete disaster of a long weekend turned into a hugely relaxing and fun stay.

Great location and amenities especially for children. The accommodation had everything we needed and was in the perfect location to explore all Dorset has to offer. Kids loved the pool and games room as well as the outdoor activities. The only issue I think I must mention is the bed, possibly the hardest we have ever slept on, we even swapped with our 8 year old children but they also complained how uncomfortable it was.

8 of us (and a toddler) has a wonderful, comfortable stay. The facilities are amazing with loads of different fun, family friendly things to do.

This place blew us away! Penny and Claire were so hospitable and communicative. The property is gorgeous! This place was the highlight of our trip! We loved the beautiful trails, animals, and sites all within a short walk. The pool, playground, and private hot tubs kept the kids happy. And there was plenty of space for our family of 7 in the barn. We will be talking about this place for years to come. I hope to visit it again in the future.

The Victorian Barn was a great place to stay for our family of 8 for a week. The large property had plenty of fun things for the kids to do such as swimming, playing on the playground and in the game room and using the hot tub. The surrounding area is beautiful and offers plenty of sites and activities to keep a large family busy. Claire was a fantastic host and made sure all of our needs were met beyond expectation.

Such a beautiful, tranquil place for all the family, with added fun from the pool, the jacuzzi, the play area and barn. The Helena House was well equipped, very clean and spacious! Given the miserable English weather we enjoyed for the bulk of our trip, we didn’t have to go far to entertain the children and tire them with the fab pool. The main supermarkets are around 20mins away so would recommend stocking up or getting a delivery. Would highly recommend the Victorian Barn for families.

Idilic setting with brilliant facilities, the open space, park and pool was perfect for the children. The barn had everything we needed and was great to relax in the hot tub at the end of the day! We had some fabulous days out from here, beaches, towns, museums all not too far away. We would definitely return!

This is a beautiful home set in tranquil surroundings. We were a party of 14 (Adults & kids between 11 to 17) and stayed in Victoria and Albert barn. Everyone loved it! Place was huge and kids enjoyed playing in the indoor pool, games and sports hall. The barn is well equipped and we could just spend time cooking and relaxing. The communication with host was very good and we had a great time. I would definitely go back and recommend this place to everyone.

The cottage was very attractively decorated, spotlessly clean, very well equipped, and beds were so comfortable with good quality sheets and duvets. It had two showers with good powerful showers. The surrounding gardens were beautiful. It was in a very quiet location and was very peaceful and relaxing. It was great to have a welcome pack which included marmalade and a chocolate cake made by Tracey. We loved everything about this cottage and would definitely recommend it to others.

We had a lovely stay in Jasmine Cottage, the accommodation was perfect for us, the pool was delightfully warm and the hot tub was so relaxing!

Jasmine Cottage is a semi-detached cottage forming part of the Victorian Barn. The house is very well sized with excellent amenities including a private hot tub (but note it does face onto the backs of other properties) large living room, plenty of space for 6 people and en-suite bathrooms to every bedroom. The location is beautiful if a bit remote. You’ll need a car for getting around - even the nearest pub is a good 20’min walk. There’s lovely walks in the area and the communal pool and games room are excellent additions. We had a brilliant time over New Years as a group of friends and would recommend it.

If you want a quiet relaxing holiday, this is your place. We loved the fact that we had lovely countryside but we had several day trips to Weymouth, Bournemouth etc to keep the children entertained. We made full use of the pool, it was just the right temperature, even for our disabled son, who normally finds the water too cold Fabulous find we would love to go back

The Victorian Barn, is a lovely tranquil place. Very scenic, great for families and great facilities. We appreciated having a hot tub after a long cycle ride. The cottage is love, furnishing is simple, but have all the equipment you needed. Location is very scenic and beautiful. Nearest shop is about 10-15mins drive away, so don’t forget the bread for breakfast, like we did! I recommend the Victorian barn and would look forward to staying there again in the future

A lovely house just perfect for us, loved the fact the rooms were all en suite. The kids loved the cake on arrival! The indoor pool was amazing and brilliant when the weather wasnt so good, plus the games room and play ground. Penny was very helpful and always around if we needed anything. A very comfortable place to stay, with lots of wonderful views of countryside around, well appointed kitchen, and a selection of books and DVDs that made me want to stay much longer.

Our stay at Maryanne's was just what we needed; convenient, cost effective and cosy! There was lots of room for us to spread out with our baby and dog and was located close to the walks and pubs we had planned for. Maryanne was welcoming and the cottage was really well set up for any type of traveller. We only wish we had a bit longer to stay.

Owl Cottage was, in my opinion, simply perfect for my recent trip to Dorset. It was a great base for touring Dorset and I even ventured as far as Devon. The place was as described and was just what I needed as a single traveller. Would also suit a couple. I would definitely recommend Owl Cottage. In addition I found Maryanne very warm when I met her on check-in. My one regret was not getting to say goodbye to her but I ended up leaving a day early due to a personal issue. I would love to come back here on another occasion.

We stayed at Maryanne’s place for 3 nights. Her place is delightful. We were greeted by Maryanne. Communication was excellent. The large settee was very comfortable as was the huge bed. The place was lovely and warm and very clean.

Maryanne is very welcoming and the cottage has everything you could possibly need for your stay. Amazingly comfortable bed. Spotlessly clean and so wonderfully peaceful. I highly recommend.

This is a lovely cosy cottage in rural Dorset. It is comfortable, well equipped and very clean.

It’s a lovely place to escape to the country, so quiet and peaceful. It’s also within a 45 minute drive of so many great places to visit like Weymouth, Dorchester, we had a great afternoon at Monkey world as well. Highly recommended this place if you want to spend some time in a lovely part of the UK and escape the city. Ruth was lovely and couldn’t have been more friendly and accommodating, thanks Ruth

A whole house with loads of space, books and toys. Great garden as well. Mappowder might be a bit remote but there’s loads to visit and to do in the surrounding towns and at the beaches. Great location for walking (public footpaths starting around the corner). Lovely quiet location for an ultimate relaxing holiday!

This is a fantastic home for a family to stay. We felt instantly comfortable and relaxed. The location is perfect for exploring the whole area. We hope to return and spend more time at this fabulous cottage.

This apartment was absolutely lovely and the location was unbelievable. We were visiting for my daughters 2nd birthday and they had got her a card and some chocolates which was a lovely touch. The swimming pool is brilliant, however, it was closed quite a bit due to private lessons which was rather annoying. Overall it was a lovely stay and would recommend it.

This is a fabulous place in a beautiful countryside setting. The apartments (we were in the Byre) are simple yet stylish with plenty of room for a 4 person family and contain everything you need. The grounds are great for young families - a perfect pool, good playground and a lovely walk up and around the lakes. We'd love to come back.

We had a fantastic stay. The Victorian Barn is rather isolated (but that could be exactly what you are looking for!), however the pool and the kids play area kept ours amused. I went running at 8am and came across 1 car in just under 30 mins... ...1 car! Perfect. Our accommodation had people above us who frustratingly arrived at 12:50am which woke us all up, that said, the hosts cannot be blamed for that, especially when it states that “quiet time” (as its family friendly) is between 11pm - 8am. The accommodation was clean, warm, and very welcoming, I would certainly recommend The Victorian Barn to anyone that asks. 👍

Very welcoming and helpful hosts with so much to do onsite! A fantastic break and scenic location!

We got tea coffee and sugar readily available by the host in The Stables which is where we stayed. A jug of fresh miThe tub was on the patio and very private surrounded by Hedges and fencing. Our back garden overlooked the farms and it was very relaxing watching the cows grazing from the conservatory every morning whilst having breakfast. The lakes was full of wildlife from fishes to blue dragon flies, yellow butterflies and Canadian geese. There was a white barn owl we saw fly by at night and also a hawk we managed to get a picture of. The beds were comfortable and the sheets were crisp and clean. The towels were made up for when we got there with hand towels as well. The kitchen was as described full of cutlery and dishes. We used the gym and pool. There's a trampoline and outdoor slides for kids and a games room. Lots of parking . Walking trail in the countryside was blissful. There is a SPA village shop about 4 min drive away that sells lovely home baked bread.

Stunning place in a beautiful location. The Hayloft was a very spacious, clean and modern barn situated in the scenic country side. Only downsides of the location being the poor phone signal and that you need a car to get around which are both to be expected! The site itself was incredibly well kept and great for local walks. The communal jacuzzi and pool were immaculate and we had it to ourselves most of the time unless there were kids’ swimming lessons. Claire was a friendly and helpful host. My partner and I really enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it however there are a lot of rules/FYI’s to be aware of before/upon booking.
