  • What a beautiful cottage! We thoroughly enjoyed cooking meals in the kitchen, playing games in front of the fire and looking at the stars whilst sitting in the hot tub. The eggs, bread and butter were also a lovely unexpected touch. Would strongly recommend and hope to come back some day

  • Very good and clean cottage. Great for couples in a fairly quiet location with plenty around it to do. Hot tub was great.

  • Lovely cosy little cottage in a quiet rural location. We loved the hot tub and the real log fire! A great base for exploring the local beaches and other sights.

    Simon2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Just spent the weekend here with my daughters. We all loved it! The cottage is spotlessly clean and very cute. Shelley had left bread, eggs, butter and milk for us. The cottage has neighbours either side but is very private still. The hot tub is amazing. Lovely and warm even when the ground was frosty! Would definitely book again! Thank you Shelley :-)

  • A quiet home near lovely food and locations.

    Nick2020-01-08T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful, cosy cottage in a perfect location for a getaway. Still plenty of things to do in the area and coming back to the hot tub was a real bonus! We had everything we needed (we’d forgotten our deck of cards but luckily there was one there!). The cottage was very clean and well kept. Perfect stay thank you.

Sandy Lodge is a home set in the sand dunes with a terrace and gate leading directly up and over to the beach. It has three bedrooms, a sunny lounge with wood burning stove and well equipped kitchen and bathroom. Check us out on Vimeo 'Sandy Lodge Sea Palling'
Our home has 3 bedrooms, can accommodate 4 adults only in 2 double beds and there is 1 single bed, but as this room leads off of the double we consider this a children's room. There is a sunny lounge with a wood burning stove heating the lounge, kitchen and front bedroom. The two back bedrooms (one leading off the other) have 2 small plug in radiators. The kitchen is well equipped with a dishwasher and washing machine. The bathroom has a bath and powerful shower fitted over it. There is a heated towel rail that can be switched on and off, but it's hot so take precautions with children. We will supply enough wood and kindling for one nights fire and then you can purchase any other wood and coal from the local shop in Sea Palling or local farm shop. Please take precautions with children as there isn't a fire guard around the hearth or stove. PARKING for 2 cars ONLY at any time and please consider our neighbours when entering and leaving the parking space. Do not park sideways in front of the gate. Please keep noise to a minimum on the terrace in the evening. Only guests booked into the chalet please as it’s a relatively small space. THERE IS NO CLEANING FEE so PLEASE leave everywhere as CLEAN and TIDY AS YOU FOUND IT also if you move anything could you put back where it was originally. If you use the wood burning stove or BBQ please leave clean for next guests and don’t tip ash onto bank behind as this is a Fire Hazard STRICTLY RECYCLE PLEASE READ THE PROPERTY MANUAL LISTED ON THIS SITE BEFORE YOUR STAY
Sea Palling is a friendly village community. It is a stunning location all year round with a beautiful beach. There is a seal colony at Horsey, opportunities for birdwatching and stunning skies day and night. A 10 minute walk into the village leads you to a well stocked shop and post office, beach bar with ‘pub’ food and amusement arcade and cafe that are OPEN ALL YEAR. In season it's possible to hire bikes, buy fresh fish and there is a fish and chip shop/cafe. There is a lovely cafe a couple of miles left along the beach at Cart Gap called Smallsticks and another if you turn right, in season, at Waxham Barns. The popular Nelson's Head Pub is a few miles away at Horsey, near the National Trust wind pump. The Lessingham Star, a couple of miles away in the opposite direction, has previously won Camra rural pub of the year. Stalham is a short drive, about 12 minutes and has a number of second hand shops plus a Tesco supermarket. There are a couple of well stocked farm shops within a mile or so of Sea Palling. There is a good old fashioned safe feel about Sea Palling. If you want to get in the car, North Norfolk is equally stunning and we're on the edge of the Norfolk Broads for boat trips.
  • Very enjoyable four nights in this cosy beach cottage tucked in behind the sand dunes. Thank you.

  • The house is wonderful, so lovely nestled in the dunes, and directly next to a beautiful clean sheltered, white sand beach. Communication and check in was all easy and helpful. We didn’t meet, but Karen is a great host. Our first morning there we walked to the beach and we saw a rainbow and a seal, in the evening the stars are stunning! we were there in early January and the weather was nice, we played on the beach all day. Shops and food are a short walk away. great arrangement of space in the house for sleeping, cooking and relaxing by the fire. Fast wifi and nice garden. Horsey beach is a short drive to see the amazing wild seal colony with their babies. I was there with my parents and a two year old, we all loved it so much. This is what air bnb should be like, thank you to Karen for sharing your lovely place!

  • The Lodge is in a lovely location down a quiet lane and to get to the beach you go through the gate straight onto the steps that lead over the dune onto the beautiful beach There are loads of things to go to, experience and see nearby including the seal colony at Horsey The Lodge has a personality of its own, beautiful without being fussy. Karen has added lots of extra touches like hot water bottles, games, waterproof ponchos etc. The wood burner made it feel lovely and warm and cosy. Everything is clean well thought out and well maintained Karen kept in contact with us to ensure we had everything we needed. We loved everything about Sandy Lodge and I would have no hesitation to recommend this as a very nice place to stay

  • WOW! The cottage is beautiful, the location is perfect and our hosts could not be more thoughtful. From the moment we arrived it felt like a home away from home. So comfortable and cozy and all the little touches made it feel really special. The area is so peaceful and with the seals, the broads, the little villages and Norwich itself, it’s a beautiful part of the world. Add in the fact Dawn and Graham are the perfect hosts who exceeded every expectation and it makes Maris Cottage the perfect place to appreciate it all from. 5 stars all round!

A pet friendly brick and flint cottage in the heart of Happisburgh on the Norfolk coast. The Gig House is perfect for summer breaks or winter escapes alike and is ideally located just 10 minutes from a glorious sandy beach.
The Gig House sleeps: 2 adults and a baby/toddler. We welcome pets - up to 2 large or medium dogs or 3 small dogs, 2 cats and any pet in a cage - and charge £25 per dog or cat per visit. We live across the courtyard and, hopefully, will be there to welcome you and to deal with any questions or requests at any time during your stay. It is located in one of Norfolk's most picturesque coastal villages. The village itself is now famous for the oldest evidence of human activity outside of Africa with footprints discovered on the beach to be over 900 thousand years old. The cosy local pub, within 50 yards of the cottage, echoes the local connection with Sherlock Holmes author Arthur Conan Doyle who visited many times and wrote one of the detective mysteries here. There is also a small shop and post office in the village. In fact the local villagers will proudly boast of the number of other illustratrious visitors who have been drawn to this unique place from Robinson Cruso author Daniel Defoe, cricketer W.C. Grace, sculptors Henry Moore and Barbara Hepworth, poet John Betjeman, writer PD James and even the Queen Mother once arriving by helocopter to visit a cousin who lived in the village. The village is a must for those who enjoy the English countryside and its beaches in all seasons. Parking is in the courtyard or on the very quiet lane outside the house. Bus stop 20 m from Albion Cottage but with an infrequent country service. Train station 7 miles away. All week long bookings start on a Saturday and short breaks start on a Monday or Friday, except at Christmas. We do not accept short breaks (less than a week) at peak times (school holidays). Out of season we can be more flexible with length of stay and start day. If you have a larger party this property can be booked in conjunction with Albion Cottage at a special rate (property also on Airbnb).

  • A lovely little retreat to stay in a lovely village in Norfolk. We loved the thoughtful touches which included fresh flowers and scones with cream and jam. A cozy place just right for two people and a dog. It was very well equipped, very clean and had homely touches. Located in a quiet village, a quick walk to the sea.

    Helena2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • A great little cosy stay. The house is small but for two adults, a 6month year old and a big dog, we had plenty of room. Small kitchen with everything you need. Bedroom was warm and cosy and bathroom was really nice and very clean. Location was great. A five / ten minute walk to the beach and easy drives out to the main areas. Very quiet little village with local shops about a ten minute drive away

  • Cosy little spot. Walking distance to the beach & pub. Would love to return in the summer.

    Maggie2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Such a lovely home with thoughtful touches. Liz gave us some tips on the local area meaning we got to see seal cubs on the beach, experience great walks and enjoy good pub food. Would definitely recommend!

  • A lovely stay in this quiet, cosy location only a 10 minute walk from Happisburgh beach. A lovely base from which to explore the Norfolk countryside and to then retreat to at the end of the day. A lovely space with nice touches such as scones and clotted cream on arrival, fresh flowers and spare blankets. It was easy to find and somewhere we loved spending time. Would recommend it to anyone!

    Adam2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • The Gig House is a splendid place to spend a few days. Cosy, and with everything you could want for break from the everyday. It sits in the lee of the huge Happisburgh church tower and is close by to a very good pub with excellent food. The beach is a short walk away and there are any amount of footpaths. We saw great flocks of birds passing overhead at dusk and great skeins of wild geese coming in from the sea in the mornings. Lots to do in the general area, but a nice quiet traditional village to come back to! The Gig House is clean and attractively furnished, Liz, the owner was welcoming and eager to make our stay a success. We’d thoroughly recommend it as a base to explore the area or just as a bolt-hole from the pressures of the daily round.

  • We had a great stay at Liz's characterful cottage. It is amazingly well-equipped and felt like a cosy home from home. Loved sitting in front of the fire with a glass of red on a cold night! Liz made our dog Ernie feel very welcome and there were lots of great beaches and walks nearby, as well as excellent pubs. Happisburgh itself is lovely too - very quiet and peaceful. We hope to return!

  • Exactly as it looks in the pictures, but hard to see the attention to detail. From the Morris wallpapers to the wick trimmers and chestnut roasting pan the house is true to its' roots. The fires were easy to light; cosy and snug, just what you need after a bracing walk along the sands. ..... UK winter breaks don't come much better than this and Liz's tips were spot on..... go on.....book it!

Happisburgh, pronounced without the p’s ‘Haysbro’, is a quiet and attractive village on the Northeast Norfolk Coast. Master this pronunciation to be more quickly 'accepted' by locals. The village has a local pub and microbrewery that serves food, a carvery, coffee shop, local shop, a tea hut, and a nice cafe at the southern end of the beach called Small Sticks, as well as some good recreational facilities. There is another pub which is a bit further to walk, the Lighthouse Inn, which does food. If you prefer more of a restaurant standard, the Shipp at Mundesley, and Swan at Ingham (check in case its still closed for refurbishment) are a short drive. A bit further are towns of Stalham, North Walsham and Wroxham that also have options for eating, and there are some other establishments scattered around. For access to the sea, the sea cliff is 500m from the cottage as the crow flies. The best way to get there is to walk up the farm track. Turn left as you leave the cottage and follow it until you reach the cliff (0.3m), then turn right for Happisburgh beach via the cliff path, or left for Walcott. To get to the beach you can continue on the above until you eventually reach the lighthouse where there is a ramp down to the beach, or for a more direct route, walk or drive through the village itself (0.7m). The cottage is nestled amongst other properties that once formed part of Church Farm, including the grade I listed farmhouse, Granary, and other barns. The farm once hosted 20th-century sculptors Hepworth and Moore who holidayed there in the 1930s and gathered ironstone. Eroded, holed flint from the beach is also believed to have inspired their art.
  • Gorgeous cottage on the coast - Barnie and Cheryl were great hosts and extended the check in/check out times. Beautifully decorated, a lovely relaxing weekend in a homely cottage near the sea!

    Daisy2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you. I would highly recommend.

    Emma2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Cheryl and Barnie’s place is a lovely cottage with plenty of space for 6 adults. The cottage was as described, located in a quiet village with local pub within walking distance. We hadn’t noticed when we booked that both bathrooms were en suite without a separate toilet, but this wasn’t too much of an issue for us. Communication was good with a very detailed handbook available, and we were appreciative of a slightly later check out. Overall a great stay.

    Sarah2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Church Farm Cottage. Communication before our stay was brilliant and we were well prepared for our arrival. Our needs (for 6 adults 1 child and a dog) were brilliantly accommodated for and our stay was very comfortable. The house itself is absolutely lovely and had all the old world charm but with modcons to make it comfortable and enjoyable. Would recommend Church Farm Cottage!

    Natalie2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Beautifully equipped but a technical nightmare!

    Amalia2019-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely clean cottage with plenty of space and lots of lovely touches (cake on arrival and tea in the canisters). Barnie called beforehand with really detailed instructions on finding the place which helped us get there (it’s a bit tucked away but that’s lovely). Lots of tips for places to visit too. Beach is awesome and a short walk - if you visit during the summer try to walk up the lighthouse on an open day.

    Angie2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • You could not wish for a more glorious setting than this corner of North Norfolk, in a village that combines tranquillity with breathtaking views and wonderful walks, where meadows meet cliff tops, with great beaches at their feet. Church Farm Cottage is wonderfully comfortable, delightfully pretty (we loved the pictures and sculptures and mottos on the walls, especially in the children's bunk bedroom) and extraordinarily well and thoughtfully equipped, from the kitchen utensils and appliances, to the astonishing range of games for children - and for grown ups, and drawers full of DVDs; plus TV we think in every bedroom, as well as the huge screen in the living room. Not that there's much time to watch TV. There is so much to do in this part of Norfolk (and Cheryl and Barnie have left leaflets on every activity, place of interest and beauty spot for miles around) and yet it is totally unspoilt. The village is espeically friendly and the local pub especially welcoming too (the local seafood is a highlight - don't miss the village's own seafood shop!). As our daughter-in-law texted to us afterwards 'such a wonderful, brilliant family holiday. We all had a such a great time full of treasured memories'. Thank you Cheryl and Barnie, for a truly memorable and special stay. From Judi and Steve Herman and three generations of the Herman family (+ one family dog!)

  • A lovely little cottage near the sea. Beautifully decorated with plenty of space. The area is quiet and near the beach with a lovely enclosed back garden area (a little suntrap!) Lovely little town within walking distance. The cottage had everything we needed and we were even greeted with tea and biscuits laid out ready for us. Easy to check in and out and the owners were on call if we needed anything. I would recommend to others as it's super good value for money

Great country location situated on the bridle path and approximately 1 mile away from Happisburgh village and beach, there you will find the famous lighthouse which can be seen for miles around, a warm and welcoming dog friendly pub, village post office and fresh fish mongers. 10 Miles from the Norfolk Broads where boats are readily available for hire, some of the more larger nearby towns are Stalham, Wroxham, and Cromer where you can try some Cromer Crab. With plenty to do and see all year round, the grey seal colonies come to give birth on the sandy beaches of Norfolk and can be seen just a few miles away during the winter months.
  • Cosy and warm. All amenities as described with a thoughtful welcome hamper. The stars at night are a real treat.

  • What an amazing place at the kestrel, so cosy, quiet and perfect for walking the dog. I encountered my very first lighthouse on our Christmas day walk, which was on my bucket list of things to see/do (super excited about that). Loved looking out of the skylight at night whilst in bed just watching the stars. A perfect place to wine down and distress. Will definitely return. Also a big thank you to Marcel for the welcome pack of Christmas treats and even a little something for marlie our dog. Very much appreciated. What a perfect way to spend our Christmas away.

  • Had a fantastic few nights at Kestrel holiday barn. The accommodation is clean, bright, warm and comfortable and is equipped with everything we needed. The enclosed garden is ideal for the dog. The whole place is great for anyone who wants a break at the Norfolk coast.

  • This was an absolutely gem! The host is extremely responsive and helpful and his suggestions of where to visit and things to do made our trip absolutely fantastic and better than we had hoped. Perfect not just for dogs but for our newborn daughter too. Would absolutely revisit

    Jess2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • A clean, roomy and warm accommodation with everything you should need for a perfect stay. On arrival already had milk in the fridge, plus tea/coffee/sugar, and a welcome basket for both humans (and canines if you're bringing them). It was very quiet all around so slept very well. A good size Tesco store is 4 miles up the road with the cheapest fuel in the area plus you can shop for your provisions very easily instead of bringing it all with you. On this occasion I didn't get to visit the beach and beyond for some walking due to all the rain but you are also within 40mins each way of plenty of places to visit including Great Yarmouth, Cromer, and several National Trust properties so things to do in all weathers. Would highly recommend a stay here. If there are more in your party there are other properties to hire within the same grounds so you can all be together in up to 4 different homes.

  • What a lovely place! Very dog friendly with some extra unexpected touches. Comfortable stay and a great location for some brilliant walks. We had a very relaxing stay. Thank you Marcel!

    Jodie2019-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful location situated a few minutes from a very quiet beach. The Kestrel was as described, very clean and thoughtful touches for children and dogs. The bed was very comfortable and we had a travel cot set up for our son, although we were also offered a single bed for him! The kitchen has all the utensils and dinner-ware you need for a stress free holiday.

    Philippa2019-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is secluded enough while close to the beach (by car) and very dog friendly. The patio is enclosed so dogs can play safely. It has a shared sauna that was surprisingly comfortable and well made. The cottage itself is light and modern, and while the bathroom is less modern it has a lot of accessibility aids which may help those with issues. Kitchen well equipped and a lot of nice touches like coffee, tea and milk and even a bottle of wine.

  • This is a lovely little get away, amazingly close to the beach which is perfect for everyone and especially dog owners. The place is very well kitted out and stylishly decorated and the hosts were fantastic. We’d definitely recommend this place and we’ll likely come again too.

  • Chalet One is a beautiful holiday home in a great location, just a few minutes from the beach. Despite horrible weather we were warm and cosy inside and could barely hear the wind howling outside. The bed was really comfortable and everything was furnished well. Daphne and Sarah have gone to a lot of thought with the extra touches and you can see the love they have put into the chalet. The kitchen was well equipped with some really thoughtful snacks left for us and the dog! The beach at Bacton is lovely and long making it perfect for chucking a ball for the dog. The site itself was quiet and clean and I'm sure it's beautiful in the summer- you can see the sea from the chalet windows!

    El2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Super well thought out space great base for local area and access right to the beach for the family or a couple to enjoy, local cafe was dog friendly and they were super kind. Many thanks

  • My little dog and I stayed at Chalet One during the throes of Storm ‪Ciara‬, possibly the windiest day of the year! The chalet was warm and cosy, and we spent a lovely weekend walking, chilling and reading. Saturday was glorious and we were able to hike for miles on the beach which is just a few minutes walk from the chalet. It is wonderful - completely unspoiled. The chalet is compact and has a nice beachy feel without being overly ’themed’. There is unlimited Wifi and Daphne and Sarah have thought of just about everything to ensure a restful stay - including a really comfortable bed. I would definitely book again.

A bright and spacious family house, self catering, set in a beautiful mature garden within the sound of the sea and next to Happisburgh church. The house is a ten minute walk, through the pretty village of Happisburgh, to a large sandy beach beneath the iconic Happisburgh Lighthouse. The house itself has a large open plan kitchen/diner, which can sit ten, with underfloor heating and a joining snug. There is also a generous living room and a downstairs bedroom with disabled access wet room.
The house has been renovated in the last five years, and the downstairs redecorated this Spring. It is a very good house for family gatherings. We also provide: - All bed linen, hand towels and tea towels but please bring your own bath towels - A selection of maps and books for the area - Travel cot and high chair on request - Games, jigsaws - Free Wi-Fi throughout the house - Telephone line (with honesty box) - Tea, coffee, sugar and welcome pack of local goodies - Comprehensive information on places to visit, walk and eat
The house is a short walk from the Hill House pub and the village shop. There is a lovely walk from the house along the cliff top to the excellent Smallsticks Cafe which serves a range of freshly prepared meals and cakes. There is a very good fresh fish shop down the road from the house. In the summer a vintage caravan called Burgers at the Beach serves a range of amazing burgers (including a crab burger and a vegan burger) next to the beach car park. Great for children and dogs, just opposite the house is a playing field with cricket pitch, bowling green and small play area. There is another great play area near the beach car park with a zip wire and climbing frame. The beach is a short walk away and very easily accessible (NOTE: The ramp suffers storm damage, but is regularly replaced. When the ramp is not usable there is access along the cliffs at Cart Gap) From here you can walk for miles either up or down the coast or do circular walks inland. Or just stay on the flat, clean sands and have a paddle or swim.
  • An absolutely fantastic host, we had an amazing week. Brilliant communication and fast responses from Helen, which was super helpful. The house itself was stunning with some lovely interior design and some lovely old pieces of furniture. The location was just as beautiful, and the local pub had an amazing vibe: a traditional country pub at its finest. I hope to return one day!

It’s styled with quirky and interesting pieces dotted around the house and is incredibly well equipped with everything you could need (and more!) for your stay. It’s cosy, charming and we loved that we didn’t need to use our cars for the whole weekend as there’s so much to explore on foot. The home made cake was delicious and very much appreciated, we will definitely be back! Thanks very much for a fantastic stay

  • This was the perfect last minute mini break that I needed. Not too far from home but right on the coast which meant my Labrador Leo and I could do lots of walking and we were so lucky with the weather too and the gorgeous Wolf moon on Friday. The cottage was clean, the fireplace amazing,it was so cosy when we arrived as the Host had ensured the heating was on prior to our arrival. Thank you for my bottle of wine and Leo's treats which he loved. Definitely coming back.

    Dena2020-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • Stayed here for 4 nights for a mini get away. The communication was fantastic, key easy to obtain and lovely little space. Upon arrival there were some dog treats and a bottle of wine which was a lovely touch! Although a little cold on arrival, once the heating was turned back on the rooms heated pretty fast. The dog had lots of lovely walks and location was great for all the sea side towns we all know and love! The only thing of note is the cobwebs, which are inevitable in a property like this. My only suggest would be some concurs in the corners of the room to try deter them! Thank you for a lovely stay.

    Kirsty2019-12-17T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely property, clean and everything we needed! Beautiful location- perfect and as described. Excellent communication with the host

    Carly2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Great property, different from anything we had stayed at before. There was Norfolk flint inside and out which really reminded us about the history of the building. The outside space was beautiful with raised flower beds and access to it from the lounge and master bedroom. Fortunately it was lovely weather for us so we could open all the doors to the back. Very clean and comfortable and suitable if you have dogs, or not. I would recommend this to anyone wanted to stay in a rural location close to the sea, but also provide something a bit special in terms of history of the building. Would definitely stay again

  • Two of my contractors stayed in Louise's property and they loved her home. It was clean and overall a great place to stay. Would recommend. If returning to the area for work i would book again, Louise is also a great host.

    Hannah2019-12-02T00:00:00Z
  • Wow what a place, Goldfinch really is lovely, perfect for our stay, good size rooms great living space, shower room, big spa bath in separate bathroom and everything there you would need for your stay. Louise goes the extra mile to make you welcome, Birthday cake and card for my wife on arrival. and it doesn't stop there the little touches that make a weekend more than just somewhere to stay and sleep. Excellent place would 100% recommend Thank you

    Michael2019-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • Great location and lovely little touches that made the stay even more special. Thank you!

    Emilie2019-11-20T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful space to spend quiet time in. Local pubs, shops and beaches not far away. Quality furnishings and very clean - photos on the website dont do it justice. Louise was very thoughful, leaving a basket of goodies for us as it is almost my Mums birthday and also goodies for Mums dog. Most importantly milk in the fridge for that long awaited cuppa on arrival! Communication was so good there was never a need to ask Louise any questions. Check in was easy with the key safe and code. A place to return to!

This spacious and quiet park is situated within 13 acres of mostly grassland which is perfect for family games and dog walking. An ideal base for relaxing and visiting the many varied attractions of Norfolk. We are also pleased to announce that free WIFI will be available from spring 2020.

There are National trust properties like Blickling and Felbrigg Hall and the nature reserves along the North Norfolk Coast which is also within easy travelling distance. A great place to stay whether you choose explore or just chill!
Our favourite place to visit for a treat is Sugar and Spice, where as well as delicious breakfasts and lunches, their cakes are really scrummy!! Bacton Fish and Chips, all cooked fresh to order. Oriental Garden Chinese restaurant friendly service to eat in or takeaway. Poachers Pocket pub in neighbouring village of Walcott, excellent food and friendly staff. Village shop, well stocked with a good variety of food, drink and more.

  • Was an amazing place to stay for my partner and I! Lovely and quiet, the place was spotless and very home like. The beach is less then a 5 minute walk which was lovely. We had an issue regarding WiFi which I messaged Gaynor and she messaged me back within 10 minutes sorting it out for us! Would recommend to all my family and friends!

    Alice2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • What a great little place. Perfect for beach walking and a quiet get away. The place is spotless and so many thoughtful finishing touches made it super lovely! Would definitely stay here again

  • Our stay at your cottage was lovely. Especially all the thoughtful extras :)

    Hannah2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Gaynor's little chalet is the perfect base to explore the North Norfolk coast. I don't remember the description saying that it has a sea view so that was a very lovely surprise. The place was absolutely spotless, and given that they welcome dogs, there's absolutely no evidence of any previous four legged lodgers (except the basket of doggy items provided) - a bonus for non dog owners. We didn't need to use much of the kitchen (as we have family nearby) but it was extremely well equipped. The plates, bowls and cutlery for kids were a bonus too. The beds are very comfortable (and I can be difficult to please in this area), the pillows and duvets just right, there's enough storage available, it's lovely and warm and the sofas are comfortable enough to sit and read for hours (as I did in the evenings). We only wish it was less windy so we could have sat outside and watched the boats go by whilst the kids played on the square (they were up, dressed and raring to run around and do cartwheels on our first morning). Gaynor, your kind gestures were very much appreciated when we arrived and for our first morning. You really have thought of everything and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend your lovely little place to others.

    Hannah2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • This was our first Airbnb booking and we were not disappointed! Gaynor kept us well informed throughout and the chalet and location was perfect. Lovely little touches like eggs, cereals and bread when we arrived, spotlessly clean and literally 1 minute away from the beach! It was our first time taking the pup on the beach and he had a great time. We’ve been to Norfolk before but never to Bacton and we are in love! Local shop and pub are within walking distance, the food at Poachers Pocket was good and the staff were very friendly. So glad we found this place, would love to return in the summer if possible.

    Neil2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful place to stay with great gestures of the hosts. Had a lovely hamper of food which wasn't expected but so truly thoughtful. Would definitely recommend a stay here.

Welcome to Our Peace of Norfolk!! We are on the beautiful coast of North Norfolk at a place called Bacton. Our newly built chalet is modern, quirky and airy. We are very close to the beach and you can hear the sea from the chalet. The Chalet Park is privately owned so no noisy clubhouse or bars on-site. Everyone at the park is very friendly. The site is very peaceful and relaxing just like our chalet. It’s a lovely space to just sit and read a book or cosy up and watch a dvd and eat chocolate!
We lovingly rebuilt our chalet from foundations up! Blood sweat, swearing and tears! But here it is and it’s lovely even if I do say so myself😁. The chalet is light and airy and just peaceful to be in. We are complete animal lovers and that’s why we took the decision to allow your family pet (s)whether it’s a pooch or a moggy to stay too. We are restricting the chalet to 2 dogs and 2 cats. There are things for you to do at the chalet........ swing ball for the kids and for the adults too (can get quite competitive!) There’s a DVD player with various dvds for everyone. Books and colouring books. Jigsaws and board games to play. Badminton set, bowls and lots of other bits and bobs. A BBQ for the nicer weather is available also. We are a stones throw away from the sandy beach of Bacton. You can walk for miles. You can have a shower in the chalet but there is not a flushing toilet BUT we have toilet blocks everywhere on the park. Separate ones for male and female. All maintained and clean. Our block is LESS than a minute away. WE HAVE NOW installed a brand new camping toilet which is in the bathroom. It’s very handy to use if you need a wee in the middle of the night.. (Like us ladies) All we ask is that you please empty it yourself into the toilet block loos. All cleaning stuff, disinfectant, disposable gloves are provided. We provide tea, coffee, milk, all bed linen, towels, hair dryer and even a dog treat for your pooch😀 We have not provided WIFI at the chalet at the moment as it’s nice sometimes when you are away to put your phone away instead of being glued to it. There is 3G if you can’t live without your mobile. Internet coming SOON early 2020!! If you have a special occasion coming up like a birthday or anniversary and you want us to provide a surprise for someone in the chalet then let me know and we will see what we can do. This may incur a smallish extra charge depending on what you want. Message me for further information :-)
The beach is lovely! A great place to just go for a walk and not have to think about much apart from how nice the view is! There is a great cafe/restaurant approx 10 minute walk away that serve the best CAKE!!! and a mean breakfast! A bit further up the coast but in walking distance is a great pub where their food is lush especially the carvey on a Sunday. There’s also a fab Chinese and fish and chip shop too all in walking distance. For your bread and milk and bits and bobs there is a convenience shop There are various walks to do and places to visit. A great safe and peaceful area to stay at. Whether you are wanting a family getaway, a couple with your beloved pooch(s) or a walker or a cyclist fanatic Bacton and our chalet is the best place to be.!! If you want to visit the city centre, Norwich is less than an hour away where you can shop till you drop or grab a bite to eat in the lanes! Sheringham and Cromer along the coast are definite places to visit! With Cromer having its own pier where you can grab a coffee or an ice-cream or try a famous Cromer crab! Further a field you can visit the Queens Beach at Holcombe........... Norfolk is definitely becoming more of a popular holiday destination, there’s so much to do with beautiful places to view and visit. Come here and see for yourself.............
  • Beautiful chalet, sparkling clean, amazing amenities and fabulous beach, we walked along it for miles!

  • Ruth was a great host, the chalet was super clean and had everything we needed and more. There was a lovely hamper on arrival and the fire and fairy lights were on to greet us. Our dog also had a bed, toys and treats provided which was unexpected and lovely. Bacton beach is great and a couple of minutes walk from the Chalet. We walked on the beach to Mundesley and had lunch at The Ship Inn. Visited the seals at Horsey. Sea Palling beach is wonderful too. Dinner and pool at The Poachers Pocket. Breakfast at Sugar & Spice in Bacton was great and their cakes were amazing. Overall a great stay, I definitely recommend it!

    Kate2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Beautifully located chalet so close to the never-ending clean sandy beach. All the amenities you could want and super clean. We stayed during a cold spell in February and could easily keep the chalet warm in all the rooms. A well-stocked convenience store is only 50m away with lovely places to eat nearby. Will definitely stay again. Great communication with the host and clear instructions.

    Lizette2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Ruth was a great host, the direction we got were great and the Chalet was easy to find, we stayed in the Chalet over Christmas 2019 with our girls, Ruth was so kind to put some Christmas decorations up and even a tree, The chalet was immaculately clean when we arrived and the cupboards were full of little things to make our stay easier (tea, coffee, sugar, hot choc, marshmallows, cereal, shop 50 metres away if you need anything) All the cleaning equipment was available as well, we didn’t have to buy a thing. The Chalet was lovely and warm on arrival, although it got a little chilly at night but what do you expect staying in a chalet over Christmas. (I’m sure Ruth don’t mind the heater on 24/7 but I like to turn it off at night) I cooked a Christmas dinner for the family with ease and each of the other nights , literally every utensil under the sun, The beds were comfortable and loved the darkest at night, toilet block is just behind the chalet so no trek is needed. Little toilet in the bathroom for number 1’s, My girls loved the bunk beds as well. Our stay was absolutely perfect, maybe one little pain is no phone signal or internet, not a problem for myself but the my children wasn’t so keen. (Never spoke to them so much haha) All in all it’s such a great place. I probably missed a load of things out but nothing was forgotten. Thanks Ruth

    Marcel2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you so much - we had a fabulous time. The location to the beach, your beautiful chalet which has been so thoughtfully restored, the well stocked cupboards and the hamper with all the human and doggie treats - perfect! The guide book was great - lots of useful info and recommendations. We had a perfect, peaceful break and couldn’t have asked for anything more. Highly recommended and we will be back. Thank you 😊

My partner and I stayed with our 2 year old and it was the perfect airbnb for this in terms of layout etc. We enjoyed walks to the local beach and playground. We also drove to Hickling Broad nature reserve which we would recommend, and enjoyed a delicious lunch at the greyhound pub, then visiting winton on sea beach and dunes .

  • The place is very nicely done, it's clean and cozy. It's very close to the beach and lighthouse. There is a little garden in front of the accommodation, which I didn't know about. It was a nice surprise and our toddler had great fun running around there :-)

  • Lovely location, it's nice a quiet and stone's throw from the beaches, you really can't go wrong. Highly recommend the property and the area. 👍👍 Thanks to you both!

  • Horse Barn was ideal for our ‘get away from it all’ week. Ideally located in a lovely quiet area close to the coast it is immaculately clean and well appointed. It has a private garden, and the TV and WiFi work well. The bed is comfy and the shower works well. We recommend it to anyone who wants peace, quiet and privacy. Thank you John and Brigitte!

  • What a lovely little gem, all the facilities you need, in a lovely location, with your own garden area and only a short walk to the beach. Definitely recommend this converted barn for your stay if visiting Norfolk. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and would stay here again in the future if returning back to the area.

  • The cottage is right next to the beach,so the views are brilliant from sunrise to sunset, then a great dark sky at night. The beds are very comfortable with good bedlinen and there is plenty of hot water. We were warm and comfortable even in December. It is well-placed to explore the Norfolk coast, especially the eastern end down to GreatYarmouth on foot or by bike. We could only stay for a few nights, but would love to stay longer next time. Thanks again for a really lovely break!

  • What a wonderful location and a beautiful property—we had everything we needed for a perfect family Christmas, and can’t thank Sam enough for hosting us. The pictures give a great sense of what to expect and yes, the sea really is that close. Wonderful experience, terrific hosts!

  • Right on the Beach. Literally. Go to bed and wake up to the sound of surf. Sit in the living room and watch the ships and seagulls (and the occasional dog walker 😊). Bed room cozy, bunks for 3, and 2 comfy couches. Good central point to explore the coast, from Cromer to Horsey.

  • We were after something clean and simple for a short family beach holiday over the Bank Holiday weekend. Sam's house was just about perfect for this. In terms of location, great views of the sea from the kitchen and lounge, and quite literally a 30 second walk to the steps leading down to the beach. The beach has also just undergone some serious work so is much bigger now, with the high tide stopping quite a way down (so you can be on the beach at any time now). A very short walk away is a great shop, and a fish and chip shop and amazing cafe (Spice) which served brilliant food with a serious smile. A 20 minute walk along the beach takes you to the Poachers Pocket, a lovely little friendly pub with great food. The walk back is great if you do it in the evening. All-in-all, I can't imagine we'll find anywhere better for a simple beach holiday. Hopefully we'll be back again soon.

  • If you want to stay in a place next to a quiet beach this is ideal. You can't get any closer to the sea and the beach was nice, clean and surprisingly very empty when we stayed. You can sit in the garden and watch the sea, fantastic.

  • Pot Luck is a stylish chalet filled with thoughtful extra touches to make your stay feel really luxurious. Newly built, Pot Luck is a good mix of brand new house with a lovely homely feel. Polly has gone to great lengths to make sure you have everything you could need or want here to make you comfortable, so you can relax and enjoy your break. We loved the outside space; the big Norfolk skies under cosy blankets or watching the kids playing on the lawn from the verandah. In the evenings, we loved getting cosy beside the wood burner on the comfy sofa. The location of this house is perfect. Just across the dunes is a beautiful, sandy beach which is where we spent most of our days. Or, you could walk 20 minutes to Sea Palling to find a chip shop, playground, pub and arcades. Something for everyone! My family and I can't wait to come back here in the warmer weather. I wouldn't hesitate to recomend Pot Luck to anyone looking for a comfortable, restful Norfolk break. Pot Luck is a little gem.

  • I can’t think of a more perfect spot to hunker down, wind whipping over the dune behind this surprisingly spacious, elegantly appointed beach house. Polly has thought of absolutely everything, outfitting the kitchen so thoroughly that we weren’t even tempted to go out for food and just stayed in making lovely breakfasts and meals to have while the wood burner cast a cosy glow. It was even warm enough in the mornings to have coffee on the back patio, the dunes creating a wind-free sun trap. Polly is the consummate host, really lovely to deal with and it’s clear that she’s put so much thought into Pot Luck, whether its visitors are families with young children, couples looking for a getaway or a group of friends. The proximity to the beach makes Pot Luck even more special, and we were rewarded with glorious views in all directions and acres of smooth sandy coastline. Bird-watchers can see dozens of species that flock to this part of the North Sea coast, and there’s often a seal or two bobbing around not far from shore. The proximity to the beach was too tempting, though, and we were rewarded with glorious views in all directions and acres of smooth sandy coastline. Bird-watchers can see dozens of species that flock to this part of the North Sea coast, and there’s often a seal or two bobbing around not far from shore. Across the dunes and inland, flat, marshy Norfolk stretches for miles, with its beautiful skies occasionally pierced by a church tower or windmill. A few miles up the coast, the red-and-white striped Happisburgh lighthouse is worth a visit, especially on the Sundays when you can climb to the top.

Spotlessly clean, comfy bed, high pressure shower, beautiful touches such as a loaf of homemade bread, jams, milk and juice were all appreciated. A lovely quiet cottage. Plus our dog pips had a gated space out the front which was useful too. Linda and her husband were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Thank you for allowing us to stay 😊

The caravan is beautifully laid out with a lot of personal touches. The local area is perfect - it has a lovely Chinese restaurant, a great local store, cafe and fish and chip shop. The best part was the excellent (and nearly abandoned) beach, it is really an unspoiled secret. All in all, it was a great holiday and we are looking forward to returning.

Stone Cottage is a traditional cottage with a modern interior located right behind the sand dunes and beach. It has a sheltered, walled garden and a conservatory.
The bedroom is spacious with views over the walled garden and the sand dunes, and has a king sized bed. The room has a TV with DVD player, wardrobes and plenty of cupboard space.
Sea Palling's stunning sandy beach is popular all year round for nature lovers and dog walkers alike. The large colony of seals at Horsey is just four miles away but Sea Palling gets its fair share of seals too. Sea Palling is close to the Northern Norfolk Broads. There are wildlife tours at both Horsey and Hickling.
  • I really can't fault Jason's place and can recommend stone cottage without hesitation, its clean, warm, cosy and a real home with every thing you need and if you have dogs the garden is superb. The beach is two minutes walk away, turn right and walk to Horsey to observe the grey seals or turn left and walk to Eccles or Happisburgh or further. The local pub is just great, its like stepping back in time, the people are just so welcoming and friendly, it's just a beautiful part of untouched England.

  • This was a lovely well cared doe cottage with all that was needed to make our stay comfortable. If the weather had been bad it would have been a very comfortable place to be. The conservatory was lovely and there was so much space in the garden. The area is beautiful and the cottage is so close to the beach, beautiful beach walks. It was lovely to be able to entertain our friends, thank you very much Jason for being happy for us to do this. I will definitely recommend to friends and would book again if we stay in this area again.

  • Well equipped, perfect location for the beach. Jason's cottage was clean, cosy and very comfy bed. The dogs enjoyed the large enclosed garden. A gem of a place.

Situated in the heart of the Norfolk broads, surrounded by stunning farmland ,the detached pump house was part of the original mill complex. Set over two floors it has a sitting, dining kitchen area, with a shower room leading from it. Steep stairs lead to a twin bedroom, with two single 3ft beds and storage. Just one mile away is SeaPalling village with its glorious Blue flag beach,pub/restaurant, and post office shop. Unfortunately definitely not suitable for dogs.
We live in the mill house,so are not too far away if you need anything. Please note that phone signals & WiFi in this area can sometimes be unpredictable, but we have a landline available for emergencies.
Five mins drive from us there is a farm shop and a farm butchers. Within 20 mins drive there are several country pubs / restaurants. Lots of broads facilities ie boat hire , canoeing, fishing, birdwatching, beautiful beaches, country houses and parks. Seals with pups can be seen at Horsey beach which is 5 mins drive away , from Oct to feb.
  • A cozy little pumphouse that overlooks farmland and forest, only a few minutes to the coast where we saw the seals pupping. Derek was kind enough to provide some very thoughtful amenities. 10/10 would recommend/come back in a heartbeat.

  • Lovely little place, perfect for a short stay. Del left a few bits in the fridge (eggs/ milk/ butter) along with some lovely bread and biscuits! Really clean space and very peaceful! Would definitely stay again 😊

  • A cute cottage nestled in the middle of norfolk countryside. The cottage had everything i needed, a welcome gift of bread, butter, milk and eggs was a special extra touch. Views from the porch were anazing, spotted a barn owl and a kingfisher. Farm shop close by for supplies and Sea Palling for miles of sand and so many seals. I loved it.

  • Just go for the quiet and amazing views from the property. For a small building everything worked really well, it was clean and functional with nice personal touches. The stairs are quite steep, but no problem once you get used to them. The hosts were on hand if you needed them. If you want peace and quiet, beautiful views, then this is the place

  • Derek was a fantastic and very helpful host and we had a wonderful stay at the Marsh Mill Pump house, such a beautiful and quiet place. The house has everything you need for a short to medium stay and lots of local recommendations were provided. All the Norfolk beaches and the Broads are only a short drive away, a fantastic location to explore Norfolk. We would definitely recommend staying here and hope to be back at some point.

  • The pump house is in a lovely peaceful rural setting. It was so relaxing looking out over the fields on the decked area. Compact but comfortable, characterful and clean We found it convenient for exploring this part of Norfolk - we had a lovely short break and would love to return when we get the chance.

    Linda2019-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • My girlfriend and I loved our two-night stay in the Pump House. It was very clean, a charming size and Derek even left some eggs and bread for us for breakfast. The WiFi is good, the beds are comfortable and the little decking area is the perfect place to enjoy your morning coffee from. Or a glass of wine in the evening.

  • Wendy and Graham were genuinely lovely people who clearly enjoy hosting and sharing their beautiful self catered property. It was very tastefully decorated with lots of lovely homely touches. The property had everything we needed, was well located in a lovely quiet village. We thoroughly enjoyed our few days stay and would definitely go back to stay.
