  • The pictures don't do justice to how great Lara's place is. The space is great for a group, and all the rooms were excellent. Lara was very responsive and the information on arrival was very helpful. Would 100% stay again!

  • Great weekend away with some friends. Everything you need, lovely place complete with hot tub, comfortable beds and cosy wood burning stoves. Lara was very helpful allowing us to check in early and check out late. Thanks!

  • Lara was a superb host. Everything was straight forward and easy. Nice touches like a welcome basket and prepared fires in the stoves just made that special difference. Perfect getaway for family and/or friends in a great spot for exploring the cairngorms. Whatever the reason you’ll love the accommodation, warm friendly and welcoming! Can’t recommend enough :)

  • Outstanding stay! With 3 adults and 2 kids, we had more room than we could dream of - the house is even more spacious than the pictures convey. Beautiful decor, so comfortable, cozy and warm, and the hot tub is heaven. The nearby Landmark Adventure centre is amazing for kids (and adults!) Woke up to a red squirrel eating an apple right outside the window. Can’t wait to come back xxx

  • This wonderful house on the riverbank at the edge of the village has a very good layout for families, is very well equipped and has a cosy, comfortable atmosphere. We enjoyed the generous facilities with our family of 10. Renting this house is an exceptional opportunity. Bart

  • This is an amazing house - stylish, spacious, comfortable and well equipped. The hot tub was much appreciated as were the welcome provisions. It really is a house for all seasons and perfectly located in the Abernethy Forest - a really fantastic environment. Many thanks, Lara.

  • Perfect little bothy, comfortable, cosy and very homely. Equipped with everything you’d need for the perfect stay. Spotlessly clean, great hosts, idyllic setting and great neighbours (the deer). Would definitely recommend.

  • It's a wonderful, quiet place. We really enjoyed our stay. One evening, there was a power blackout and Colin helped us by providing candles and a camping stove. Would recommend any time.

  • This was a good place to base myself for a few days. Cosy and warm. Unexpectedly good WiFi! Kitchen had everything needed. Would suit a couple who want to walk perfectly. Google maps didn’t quite find it but I worked it out. You have to have faith and keep following the track! Hosts easy to deal with and discrete

Situated in the heart of Glenlivet with stunning views of the Packhorse Bridge (the bridge on the Glenlivet Whiskey logo) and the river Livet. Cosy Bridge Cottage is perfect for a quiet and peaceful retreat.
Bridge Cottage is a newly renovated crofters cottage in the beautiful Bridgend of Glenlivet. The ancient Packhorse Bridge can be seen from our garden and is stunning every season of the year. If you're into outdoor activities, castles, whiskey distilleries, clay shooting, scenic drives or just relaxing in a peaceful and cosy environment then Bridge Cottage is the place for you.
Glenlivet Distillery is a short drive or walk from the cottage. The bridge on the Glenlivet whiskey bottle logo is located behind the cottage. It’s beautiful and you can see the first bridge from the kitchen window.
  • Very warm and very welcoming cottage! A real haven of peace! I recommend 100%.

  • Lovely cottage. Very well equipped and cosy

    Miranda2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is a clean, comfortable and cozy place to relax. I only stayed for one night and wished it could have been longer! Everything was clean and the decoration is lovely. There were three of us so all had our own room, we found it spacious but still had a cozy cottage atmosphere. There are lots of dvds to choose from and a stack of tourist brochures. The internet connection was great. Although arriving in the dark and leaving promptly the next day, the view of the bridge from the kitchen/ garden was so pretty!

  • The place is cozy, quirky and beautiful too! Your back garden faces a stream with an ancient stone bridge, which gives a special and different touch to the place! I recommend!

  • Good hospitality and nice place along with nice view

    Abhishek2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • A sweet cozy cottage in a beautiful highland setting. We arrived at night, but the view out the kitchen window of the trees, river and pack horse bridge is stunning. It’s an older house, so it has its quirks, but none are bad (the door frames were slightly low for two of us staying there) each space was thoughtfully decorated and I especially loved the Christmas decorations they put up. Little reception, but there’s a huge range of DVDs to play on the TV and wifi. Wish we could have stayed for another night!

    Lauren2020-01-08T00:00:00Z
  • We spent a few days in January at the lovely cottage. The place was very lovely and cozy and the location was magical. Everything was very well-equipped and clean. Carrie and Rob even left us fresh eggs and water in the fridge which we appreciated very much. The communication was easy and quick and the instructions before check-in were very helpful, because there was relatively poor cell phone connection at this location. The WiFi in the cottage is really good so once in the Cottage, the cell phone connection is no issue. There was plenty of information and inspiration about what to do during the vacation even during the winter months. We were sad to leave this place and definitely want to come back. Can highly recommend!

This modern bothy, situated on the edge of ancient forests, would make an ideal retreat or base for adventures. As well as local walks and the riverside village of Nethy Bridge, it's only a short drive to the Cairngorms for skiing, hiking & biking.
The Bothy is recently redecorated and was only built about 10 years ago. It has its own decking outside and front door to enter. There is space to sit out on the decking and outdoor seating. Our house is on the same site and shares the large garden. Downstairs there is a large open plan living area with kitchen, dinning table and sitting area and washing machine. The kitchen is an Ikea style "kitchen in a cupboard" with electric rings, sink, fridge, and a combi oven/grill/microwave. Upstairs there is a king-size bed in a large double bedroom with ensuite bathroom (shower but no bath). There is a small double sofa bed that sleeps 1 adult or a child.
The Bothy is in a quiet area with mostly trees and fields surounding. The woods close to the Bothy are owned by the RSPB and there are some very accessible paths. There is also the River Nethy which runs through the village which joins the River Spey nearby. In the village, there are public tennis courts 5 minutes walk away with an honesty box. There are two hotels in Nethy where you can get a meal and a weekly fish and chip van on a Monday. There is a great new cafe. There is a small shop, a Farm Shop and Post Office. The nearest town is Grantown on Spey which has a range of small local shops or in the other direction Aviemore has a range of facilities. Also the nearby village of Boat of Garten has a restaurant and coffee shop. There is downhill skiing locally in the winter about 40 minutes drive at Cairngorm. You can also get to the Lecht for skiing in the other direction and it is also 40 minutes drive. About 30 minutes away, Loch Morlich is a base for watersports in the summer and also an access point for walks in the Cairngorms. There is some great mountain biking from the door including some local single track and various other locations and trails. There is also some road cycling on quiet roads locally and some accessible cycle tracks. There are many walks short and long including the Speyside way which runs through the village and plenty of Munros to go at in the Cairngorms. There are also various whisky distilleries to visit. For wildlife lovers, we regularly have red squirrels in the garden and various birds. Crested tits visit the garden in the winter and you might want to try to spot Capercaillie in the nearby woods. If you have any more queries about things to do in the local area please don't hesitate to ask.
  • Stayed here for two nights and nothing to complain about! Highly recommend! Peaceful wee town great for a relaxing getaway

  • A stylish, peaceful getaway. This was our second visit and it was just as good as we remembered. The only downside is the shower which could be more powerful.

    Sally2020-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second visit to Yvonne’s beautiful cottage, and we couldn’t have been happier. Glenarder is the perfect spot to switch off and relax, explore the local whisky distilleries and nearby towns. The house is very well equipped and we really appreciated the basics (butter, bread, milk and eggs) on arrival. The views are breathtaking! We hope to visit again!!

    Charlotte2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Glenarder is a really cosy cottage in the middle of the countryside with stunning views and located closely to the Cairngorms. The property is really well equipped with lots of useful instructions and information about the area. We were 2 couples and a 2 year old and there was plenty of space. Would really recommend staying here and we especially loved visiting the lochs and mountains in the cairngorms. *Note: a lot of places were closed until late Feb/March which we were hoping to visit i.e. castles, steam railway etc. Worth checking before booking!!

    Steph2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • We loved this typical traditional stone cottage, set appropriately out in the vast hills with just one distant house visible, yet just minutes from Knockando. We had deliciously cold weather and wind (quoting Adam Nicolson, ridiculous weather) and loved it. The house is really comfortable. Also practical. Very warm, all mod cons. Soft carpet in the main bedroom, rugs in the lounge. Library full of books. Cook books in the kitchen. The best writing spot ever in the kitchen, in the window space, looking over the hills. Just wish we'd had more time there.

    Janine2020-01-10T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage and its location are a delight. It is wonderfully situated to explore Speyside, while providing a quiet retreat. Highly recommended.

    Angus2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • Glenarder Cottage is located at a unique spot surrounded by the impressive Scottish Speyside Highlands. It's carefully curated interior provides the perfect setting for memorable experiences. A fully equipped kitchen, a fireplace and the comfortable beds make it a very pleasant place to stay. Glenarder is a basecamp for nature lovers to enjoy the great outdoors of this beautiful part of Scotland.

    Miriam2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage and location is just perfect for a get-away, especially if you’re running away from a busy city life. Things to consider: 1- You have to have an SUV. 2- During winter, it gets really cold, even inside the cottage. 3- If it snows, transportation would be a bit difficult if your vehicle is not suitable for such conditions.

    Ahmed2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • Yvonne’s place is absolutely beautiful, the cottage has everything you could ever need for a cosy few days! It will always be a lovely memory for me getting ready here on the morning of my wedding and all the lovely touches from Yvonne, hope to come back with family x

Wild Farm Cottage is situated on the beautiful Glenlivet Estate in the Cairngorms National Park. Only three miles north of Tomintoul, the location of the cottage is both exclusive and remote with a hot tub, sauna and plunge pool included.
Whether you want to watch local wildlife, be energetic around the local Glenlivet Mountain Bike Trails, fish in the nearby lochan or just relax in the hot tub and sauna, Wild Farm Cottage is the perfect location. There is plenty to see and do in the area. 'A wonderful haven' - Tony, Andrea, Izzy and Sophie, Oct 2015 'A perfect place to relax and unwind' - Lesley and Helen, Sept 2015 'One of the best views in the whole of Scotland' - Jon, Kirstie and Evie, August 2015 'A stunningly beautiful place and a great place to experience nature' - Greg and Paul, July 2015
The closest village is Tomintoul which is three miles away. It has a good pub but you may wish to do your grocery shopping in a bigger town (Aviemore or Grantown) before your arrival. The remote site of the cottage is great for wildlife, including roe deer, red deer, brown hares, pine marten, wild cat ( very shy ), rabbits, buzzards, osprey fishing in summer, kestrel, hen harrier, tawny owl, barn owl, short eared owl, raven, blue tits, coal tits, great tits, chaffinches and many more.
  • Lovely cottage in a beautiful setting.

    Fern2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing cottage with beautiful views. We stayed 10 nights for our honeymoon. The hot tub and sauna were very relaxing and we really enjoyed the games room too. Most of all we loved the wildlife around the cottage. So many deer and birds, we were entertained for hours. Tilly was very helpful and even came and refreshed the hot tub water for us during our stay. I also got the chance to read 2 of her books about reindeer which were very interesting. I'm sure we will be returning soon!

    Rebekah2019-10-17T00:00:00Z
  • It is a great place. In a remote valley. We had it for my husbands 30th birthday and it was perfect. A cozy house, great walking possibilities and lets not forget the very well maintained hot tub. Thanks a lot again!

    Helena&Lasse2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • This place looked amazing from the pictures but they still couldn't do justice to how beautiful and private the property was or the incredible experience of watching the deer graze right in front of us all evening. Tilly was incredibly gracious and we really enjoyed our "off the grid" yet comfortable experience.

    Chad2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage experience is somewhat difficult to accurately describe, because it is so beautiful & unique. The setting is bucolic, serene & one of a kind. The deer running past through the pastures in front & behind the cottage are breathtaking. Watching the stars at night while sitting in the hot tub is a sheer indulgence & unique experience. We loved our stay so much and hope to return again!

    Michelle2019-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic, peaceful weekend for our family. Beautiful views. Wonderful welcome from our host Tilly. Hot tub, sauna and plunge pool an added bonus!

    Abi2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at the cottage was an absolutely magical experience. We loved the view, the coziness of the space, the hot tub under the stars,... all of it. I would definitely stay here again

  • Tilly was our host for our short stay at Wild Farm. Communication with Tilly was excellent and she kindly met us at Tomintoul so we could follow her to the house. Upon arrival Tilly was very thorough, going through all the instructions in terms of the facilities and the power to the house which we had no issues with after she left us to it. The hot tub was a feature we particularly enjoyed, especially in the evenings. We wish we could have stayed longer to explore the area further as we had a wonderful relaxed time at the farm and would definitely return.

  • We booked the shack for an overnight stay after visiting Dinosaur Kingdom at Landmark Park for our little boys 2nd Birthday. We were greeted by Louise on arrival who was lovely and helpful! The shack was cosy, clean and exactly what we needed to rest our heads. We were also blown away by how thoughtful the hosts were by leaving our little boy a dinosaur themed birthday card and toy! Over and above. Thank you! Siobhan xo

A cosy and contemporary cottage in the traditional highland town of Grantown-on-Spey. All of the town's cafes and shops are on your doorstep as well as the beautiful local countryside and River Spey which are just a few minutes walk away. This hidden gem is tucked down a quiet lane just behind the main street and offers a wonderful base to explore the Cairngorms and the Highlands.
The cottage has a fully equipped kitchen with wood burning stove, oven, microwave, fridge and dishwasher. We don't have a washing machine but there is a launderette a short distance along the main street. The lounge has a Smart TV, comfortable sofas and a fireplace with candles (The lounge fireplace is not operational for real fires). There is a bathroom with mains pressure shower downstairs. Upstairs there are two rooms with built in wardrobes. One with a King size bed and one with twin beds. Outside there is ample space to park two cars and a shed to store bikes etc during your stay. A basket of wood for the stove and electricity/ heating is all included.
Grantown-on-Spey is a small town beside the River Spey. The area is famous for the lovely surroundings, whisky, salmon fishing and highland scenery. The town has a large Coop grocery store and quite a few small independent shops and cafes. There are some lovely walks right from the cottage and a great coffee shop two minutes walk down the road.
  • Lovely little cottage, excellent location for local amenities, walks and access to the Highlands.

  • this is a lovely, cosy and comfortable cottage - spacious for a traditional mid-terrace. very clean and well equipped, with everything you could need (although it is worth pointing out that as there is no washing machine, you would have to use the laundrette along the street and it's quite pricey. we decided not to bother due to the cost and the fact we were only staying 5 nights, as it was doable). The beds were super comfy, the fire in the kitchen was a real bonus - we loved the kitchen! very homely, cosy and easy to use. the shower was excellent! very powerful and hot! we had a mini-blip with the hot water, but Liz was very quick to resolve the issue and it was fixed within a day - very efficient and hassle-free. the area is fantastic, with plenty to do even in winter with many facilities still closed. we travelled with our young child and found enough to occupy us, including beautiful scenic walks along the river Spey. we must recommend the dinosaurs at Landmark Forest Adventure Park, along with the other attractions that were open; the shop and cafe were very reasonably priced and the staff were excellent. and also the Grantown East Highland Heritage & Cultural Centre about 5 minutes by car - a lovely restaurant in a couple of restored train carriages, a shop/museum and a wonderful mini-train track for the wee one (and us!) when the weather allowed. we were lucky to grab a ride on the day we were leaving (cold weather/ice prevented us earlier on in our break). The staff there were outstanding! many thanks to Liz for being flexible with our check-out time; this was highly appreciated and more helpful than she knows. all-in-all, a wonderful holiday let and we cannot recommend it highly enough. oh, and the most beautiful sunsets over the Cairngorms National Park - a truly awe-inspiring part of the country. we will be back!

  • Liz and Dave place makes for a lovely retreat in a pretty town. The house is sparkling clean, nicely decorated and with really enjoyable features for a stay away such as the stove, board games... The cute cottage is spacious and has everything you might need. They provided a cot, high chair, baby spoons etc which was much appreciated to travel lighter. Communication was really easy and Liz recommended walks that were really beautiful as well as good places to eat. Would definitely return !

  • Bramble cottage is very cosy and we had everything that we needed for our short stay there. The location is perfect as it is just off the high street, but also not far from the beautiful woods and the Speyside Way.

    Joanne2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • This was the second time I had stayed at the cottage and it was just as good as before. We stayed for 3 nights over New Year and thoroughly enjoyed it. Communication from Liz and Dave was excellent. The cottage had lovely festive touches and it was clean, comfortable and well equipped as it was previously. We went to the square on the 31st for the street party and I would highly recommend it. It was so well organised and the band and fireworks were brilliant. Even better that we could walk back home in a few minutes as the cottage is so central but also very quiet. Lovely place, friendly people and perfect accommodation. Thanks again!

  • Cosy cottage in walking distance of amenities. Easily sleeps 4. Lovely log burner in kitchen. Simple and stylish design throughout. Very convenient place to stay for the area as everything is close by.

    Amy2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • The Bramble Cottage is THE place you want to stay if traveling to the Cairngorm Mountains, Grantown-On-Spey or in the general Aviemore area. We were able to spend time there over the Christmas holidays - we were a quick drive to everything and a quick walk to the best Co-Op, shops, restaurants and more. We felt like home especially during the holidays because Liz and Dave so wonderfully decorated the home with a tree, lights, and other festive decor. We loved how the heat worked so well and the Cottage was so cozy. We cooked a lot - everything you could need in a kitchen and more. If you're looking for warmth, comfort, and location - look no further.

    Anneka2020-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • Louise's place is amazing, if you're in the area I'd definitely recommend staying here! The fact that she popped out when she saw us arrive to show us about and had lit the fire ready (a welcome gesture since we arrived much later than planned) was next level hostess, and the place was spotless and well organised. All in all, a great find :)

    Ashley2020-01-30T00:00:00Z
  • Really lovely stay! Very comfortable and warm place, the hosts were welcoming and gave us a lot of tips of what to do in the area. The place is in a great location and Louise's place is exactly what you need for a relaxed get away. Will be looking to stay again when vivisting the Caringorms National Park

  • Louise’s place is great. Perfect size, beautifully finished and very well equipped for those who want to use the kitchen. There were also basic supplies available such as milk, tea, coffee and some breakfast things too! The fire is a lovely touch and keeps the place really cosy. There are simple instructions for everything you need too. I would definitely stay again!

Aviemore has plenty of restaurants I can recommend and live music is played at several venues throughout the week. • The birds nest is absolutely stunning. The accommodation is beautiful and it is set in a beautiful location. A lot of love and care has gone into creating this space and it is situated perfectly to feel like you are “away from it all” whilst maintaining a good distance to local amenities and attractions. Cannot think of anything that could or world need to be different. Emily and Alex are lovey hosts.

    Lauren2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • The birds nest was excellent, spotlessly clean, and the bed is huge! Perfect for a relaxing break in the countryside. Cosy downstairs area with kitchen, log fire, armchairs and microwave/oven too. Then upstairs space is large, with big sofa. We were so relaxed the whole holiday, with great walks directly from the cottage, round loch vaa is recommended. And only about 5 minute drive into aviemore, loads of activities to do nearby. So peaceful with views of the Cairngorms and the local cows too! The hosts are very friendly and were available if we needed anything. Amazing they constructed the cottage themselves too! Wouldn’t hesitate to return in the future.

    Lisa2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful hideaway in the heart of the Cairngorms - highly recommend. Both Emily and Alex were very friendly and helped us out with any questions we had. Great base for exploring even in rainy weather - in the evenings we much enjoyed just listening to the radio and reading by the fire which we don't get to do enough! Overall the birds nest was cosy, comfortable and all the added creative up-cycled details gave it a special touch. Thanks for having us!

    Jenny2019-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • Beautifully converted shed in a lovely peaceful spot. Great place to relax and also well located for some activity. Nice to be a bit outside Aviemore.

    Jo2019-11-01T00:00:00Z
  • Emily and her family have created a peaceful oasis. It's perfect if you want to explore the Cairngorms without the bustle of the towns. Our highlight was exploring Loch Vaa and being able to stargaze on a clear night - not to mention the glorious views the Bird's Nest has!

    Jess2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic time at "The Bird's Nest" - Emily and Alex obviously put a lot of work & thought into this place. I can totally recommend staying here!

    Boris2019-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful, cozy hideaway.

    Justine2019-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • The Bird’s Nest couldn’t be in a more idyllic location. We woke each morning to the stunning views of fields, forests and mountains. We stayed cosy and warm next to the log burner and luxuriated in the home comforts so thoughtfully provided. Our hosts were top notch - they personify what makes Airbnb such a cool and amazing venture. I would recommend The Bird’s Nest without hesitation.

  • Betula really exceeded all of our expectations! It is beautifully decorated and sparkling clean. The photos don’t do it justice. The location is also perfect, in the beautiful Scottish countryside, with lovely walks on the doorstep. We really enjoyed exploring the natural environment and seeing the wildlife, we were even visited by a very friendly pheasant! Nairn is a short drive away, with it’s stunning sandy beach. Anna was very quick to communicate and came to welcome us on arrival. We were very comfortable in the cabin, the heating worked perfectly (underfloor heating in the kitchen and bathroom!) the shower had good pressure and the beds were comfy! I can’t recommend this place enough, it’s definitely one of the best Airbnb places I have stayed in. We have already discussed a return trip!

    Rowanne2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • Had a wonderful stay here - the cabin is beautiful. Very bright and spacious, great shower, very comfortable beds and really cosy. It's only a short, easy drive into Nairn for great beaches and shops. Would love to stay again!

Cosy self-catering accommodation sleeps two. Situated between Aviemore and Grantown on Spey in the Cairngorms National Park close to the River Spey and surrounded by woods and farmland. Boat of Garten village is within a mile. Refurbished in 2018 to a high standard, Sycamore Cottage provides cosy accommodation for single people or couples looking for a relaxed break in idyllic surroundings, or for those who want to take advantage of the many opportunities for outdoor recreation. The cottage is in a secluded location with wonderful views overlooking the River Spey and Strathspey Steam Railway track with the Cairngorm mountains in the background. Well behaved dogs are welcome by arrangement.
  • We spent a fantastic couple of days in Sycamore Cottage. Martin met us on arrival and gave us some pointers for the local area which was gratefully received. The cottage itself is perfectly orientated facing the river and countryside to create a private, fenced off area. The location is ideally placed for Aviemore and the Cairngorms and we thoroughly enjoyed our time here.

    Bailey2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • The cutest little cottage and perfect little getaway. Really nice to come back to a warm and cosy place after exploring the lochs and mountains in the snow. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting explore the Cairngorms.

  • We spent a great couple of nights with Briony. Immaculate place, and a very comfy bed!

    Tim2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Briony offers a brilliant location and excellent directions. Thank you again. :-)

    Stuart2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Home from home :) if you're a couple wanting to take in the sites of Aviemore whilst still keeping your home comforts then look no further! There was clear communication from Briony and Martin from the word go, even before we had booked the cottage. The cottage is down at the bottom of their garden, but don't let that put you off. They had fenced an area for our own private garden, bird feed and decking, plus the views overlook the river, not their house, so you feel like your in your own private location. Martin was there to greet us to ensure we were settled in and was to hand if we had any problems (which we didnt). The house was super clean and comfortable, but it was the small added extras that made it... - dog treats, bowls and towels (dog towels came in handy as we had so much rain ours were drenched!) - OS maps so we could plan our walks -fresh eggsfrom their chickens - wood for the fire (although the house was so warm we didnt need it) - a fully stock kitchen, we cooked ever night and wasn't short of any utensils. Was more than happy with the cottage and couldn't recommend enough. Thank you for a cosy cottage after our long days out.

    Kerry2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • We have had a perfect stay at Sycamore Cottage. Briony met us on arrival and welcomed us with freshly made bread and eggs from her chickens. Waking up the following morning to a dusting of snow and amazing views was just wonderful. There's a lovely spot for dogs just out the back of the garden and the cottage is super cosy and warm. Lovely touches like dressing gowns, dog blankets and lots of logs for the log burner. Great location for driving to local amenities and loads of amazing walks nearby. We hope to come back in the summer.

    Eleanor2020-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • My partner and I stayed at the cottage as part of a weekend getaway in the Highlands. Briony's communication was great and the check in smooth despite us getting in a bit late. The cottage is cosy, modern and Briony has ensured that it is absolutely neat (even the cooking utensils are lined up neatly). We appreciated the eggs left for breakfast and the wood burning stove for cosy nights in front of the fire. I highly recommend Briony's place for a peaceful retreat near the Cairngorms.

  • Warm-hearted atmosphere in this family house. Donald and Libby have several rooms to offer, I could even choose mine when I arrived. Libby wasn't there, I met her my last day. Donald welcomed me and took very good care of me and the other guest they had. Donald has a large variety of maps that he lends, giving also lots of tips on interesting walks and sites to visit. I followed his advice and spent 3 very enriching days in the Cairngorms. Breakfast is excellent, with home-made bread and marmalade, freshly ground coffee, and always the hosts' smile and good energy.

    Anne2019-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • I’d give Libby and Donald’s place more stars for Value if I could! Walking distance to everything within Grantown-on-Spey! I didn’t meet Libby, but Donald was incredibly friendly and I enjoyed having breakfast with him the mornings I was there. Thanks for the great stay!

A cosy self contained wing at Mondhuie Lodge. Our self catering accommodation sleeps 2 people and is the perfect forest retreat and base for exploring the beautiful surrounding area. • Good place to stay if you love being into nature. Really peaceful, Susan is a great host and very welcoming! The Den is clean and cosy, we enjoyed our stay. Emilie & Pierrick

    Emilie-Louise2020-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • The Den is a wonderful, cozy place with incredible views of lichen-covered trees right on its doorsteps. The host, Sue, is or has the most incredible cleaner, and made us feel so very welcome. There is a fully equipped kitchen for those wishing to make their own meals (we managed to cook a whole Christmas dinner!) and for those wishing to dine out, there is a comprehensive list of nearby spots compiled by Sue. A few things to note for those looking to book this place: it is, like most places in the Cairngorms, not exactly accessible without a car; the Den is an annex to the host's house and therefore the occasional dog bark can be heard through the shared wall; and the Den is perhaps on the smaller side (though it felt average for 2 city dwellers living in a 1 bedroom flat). Those things considered, it is lovely place to stay with so many incredible things to see and do within a quick drive. 12/10; would stay there again.

    Ayumi2019-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful stay, in a beautiful place with a lovely host. I highly recommend taking a trip to this lovely part of the world.

    Emma2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great time in Susan's place. Its in a really relaxing location right in the woods. Perfect base for exploring the cairngorm and some great roadtrips

    Jason2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely cottage in the middle of the forest. We completely fell in love with 'forest village' Nethy bridge. The cottage has all the utilities you might need, a lot of privacy, views on the woods and Susan is an absolutely fantastic host, making sure you get the most out of your trip by providing advice on whatever it is that you would like to do. Above combination made this stay the absolute best of our trip. Book this thing and stay a while :)

  • We loved Bothan Beag, it had everything we needed for a relaxing break. Very comfortable furnishings, plenty of space, bright and spotless throughout. Great wee kitchen with everything you could possibly need, nicely decorated and plenty of storage, full size fridge, full cooker, microwave and even a dishwasher. We particularly enjoyed the use of the wood burning stove, being in close proximity to all the village amenities, and having so many great walks from the doorstep. Communications were flawless and everything was ‘as advertised’. We look forward to returning.

  • Brett and Fiona are wonderful hosts! The place is clean and cozy, and in the middle of town. The restaurant and cafe are literally across the street, and it's a great home base for exploring the beautiful natural surroundings. Brett was always very quick and helpful to any questions we had, as well as happy to provide great local knowledge. We'd love to stay again!

  • Wonderful place to stay. Immaculately clean. Stylish and very cosy. Everything you could want in a perfect location. Close to lots of stunning walks, great family friendly restaurants and cafes. Fiona and Brett are fantastic hosts. We arrived to some very thoughtful lovely treats in the kitchen for ourselves and our 3 year old son! We've had a fabulous week and we'll definitely be back. Thank you.

  • Lovely clean cottage in a lovely location would highly recommend

    Steve2019-11-01T00:00:00Z
  • As a family of 4 (2 adults/2 children) we totally recommend Brett's place for ALL the key features one needs from a holiday rental on Air BnB eg. response time, finding the place, checking in, being briefed on how everything works, where to go, value add with those finer touches, luxury, cleanliness, homeliness, comfort etc. Location was ideal for access to all main attractions in the Cairngorms, yet quaint, quiet and cosy at Nethy Bridge. A lot of value for money and left us feeling very at home during our stay. Both Brett and Fiona are extremely helpful and hospitable at any point during the visit. You'll love it!

    Justin2019-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage is in a wonderful location. It has all the amenities you could wish for. The hosts are excellent and gave us lots of information about Nethy Bridge and it's surrounding area. We would gladly return. Doug and Pam (Nottingham)

We live out in the lovely countryside of Nairn and Cawdor, with many scenic walks, quiet roads and wildlife. Situated only 7 miles from Cawdor, 9 miles from Nairn and 20 miles from Inverness, our home feels like hundreds of miles from all the hustle and bustle of towns and cities. If you are an outdoor enthusiast and you're looking for a little simple, but cosy space where you can relax and get ready for your next adventure, you might like it here!

  • A great place to spend the night, with the added bonus of snow- Would definitely recommend this location for people who are passing through the cairngorms on a road trip! We really enjoyed getting to know and chat with the Fiona and Steve, and meet their lovely dogs! The breakfast was excellent, and there are plenty of things to do nearby- walks along the river, distilleries, restaurants.

Highland Shepherd Huts are located in the heart of Cairngorm National Park, offering the ultimate glamping experience. Perfect for two for either a well needed escape or romantic break. Experience nature and adventure in our shepherd's huts situated in 16 acres of woodland at Mondhuie near Nethy Bridge. We do accept well behaved dogs and the hut only has room for 1 large dog or 2 small dogs. We have to charge for this and the cost is £15 per dog per stay.
Hand-built to a high standard, this magical shepherds hut has all the essentials for a peaceful, revitalizing few days away. In Coorie the bed is king size and comfortable, the shower is large with a rain shower head and the kitchen is fully equipped for cooking. The only source of heating is a wood-burning stove. This adds warmth to an enchanting interior. You'll have everything you need for a great stay and in a fantastic location to explore the surrounding area of the Cairngorm National Park.
Our huts sit in 16 acres of mixed woodland. Nethy bridge is only a 10 minute walk away with a local butcher, coffeeshop and local convenience store. Aviemore is accessible by car and takes around 15 minutes to reach by car or alternatively hop on bikes and enjoy a 45 minute ride in some lovely landscapes full of pine trees and heather.
  • A superb little shepherd's hut in a beautiful part of Scotland. A very clean, comfortable, well thought out space with cracking views. The hut is in a secluded, yet very accessible spot, that was easy to find. We were greeted by Nic who was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about the local area. We really enjoyed our short stay and will definitely recommend to friends and family.

    Amy-Louise2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Genuinely can’t say enough good things about this little hut. Arrived in the evening to be welcomed by a little path with fairy lights into the hut which was already warm and cosy due to the fire having being lit prior to arrival. The hut has all the amenities you need and has such a well thought out design. With little touches most places often lack. We had a fantastic nights stay and cannot wait to come back for another visit in the future. Couldn’t recommend the place enough.

    Hannah2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Great place. Zoe has thought of everything. Would 100% recommend.

    Mike2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • A perfect cosy cabin to retreat and wait out stormy weather. We booked the hut at short notice but Zoe got straight back to us and made everything very easy. A little expensive although we only stayed for one night so were perhaps a little more stung by the service/cleaning fee. We loved it and wish we could have stayed longer!

    Annecy2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • The shepherd hut is great! Lovely location with great views and walks nearby. We will definitely be back.

    Ross2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • This place is really something magical and close to anything you want to see in the cairngorms. You can hide out from the world, but still be close to farms hops andthe best lochs and trails. Loved it.

    Do2020-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic break in the Hut. It is super cute in the most stunning of locations. Our stay was over a freezing January weekend and we were so cosy with the log burner on. The shower is amazing and the bed very comfy. The number 34 bus makes it easy to get back from the pub in either Boat or Nethy too. We’d recommend the trail to get to Boat though. Just on the door step and gorgeous.

    Nicola2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Zoe is an amazing host and the property is out of this world. She took a lot of time sending us suggestions of things to do in the area, and also sent us another message the following day to ask how we were getting on and of we needed anything else. The property is everything it promised to be and more! We would highly recommend to anyone visiting Aviemore or the surrounding area.
