  • You need to spend at least three days here to even begin to explore all special places in this “Garden of Ireland “. Selena’s place is the perfect location with so many attractions within easy reach. We were warmly welcomed by Selena and her family. These peoples are kind and earthy with that genuine Irish instinct for hospitality. Stephen

  • This is one of the cuties places we stayed in Ireland. You really get a feel for the countrysides of Ireland. When we arrived, Tara had a fire going and the bed warmers already turned on. Everything about our stay was wonderful.

    Breanne2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Tara's is perfect for a chilled out, laid back trip away. She was extremely accommodating with us and helpful.

  • Such a nice little cottage tucked away in the country surrounded by fields, donkeys & nice fresh air - all only an hour from Dublin. Tara had the fire roasting & fairy lights on upon arrival and let us enjoy the country air for a chillaxed weekend! Thanks Tara

  • You will not be disappointed if you stay here. Such a cute cottage away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Location was close to many hiking trails and the scenery was amazing! You’ll miss out if you don’t book with Selena!!!

    Charsie2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • The farm of Selena and Alex is a perfect place to switch off, warm up next to the warm oven in rainy weather and go on great trips. All animals are very tame and trusting - you are greeted with love and get your money's worth when cuddling. The fields are what you would imagine Ireland to be, and even in February there were cute lambs. The equipment leaves nothing to be desired - you can borrow shoes on site to explore the farm. Communication works great - that's why it can be recommended without any restrictions!

    Irina2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Selena was great about communicating and had the cutest little cottage room for us to stay in. Fire was nice, but we had such cold days and being out all day it was a bit hard to keep it as warm as we would’ve liked. Although Selena kept heated blankets on the beds and lots of wood to stock up the fire so we managed just fine once we got it up and roaring! We definitely had a good time exploring Wicklow, hiking, and having a can of Guinness while hanging out by the fire at night. Definitely worth the experience if you want to enjoy the real farmland of Ireland. (I really loved feeding the chickens and ducks) :)

    Allison2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • If you’re looking for “rustic”, as I was, this is the perfect place for you.

    Kam2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing opportunity! A chance to really work on a farm was a dream for this city girl. The cottage was very comfortable and quiet. Lots of places right on the farm to walk and explore. Hosts were great and offered lots of info regarding the area and things to do.

    Denise2020-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • SpringFarm is a beautiful and idyllic working farm which considering being located in the rural Irish countryside is only a 10 minute drive from the nearest motorway. The accommodation itself is a 3 roomed traditional cottage with a bedroom, bathroom and a fully equipped kitchen/dinning room which hosts an amazing little log burner fire. Awaiting you is an information book pertaining to the farm and things to do and see in the area as well as pans, cutlery and condiments. The hosts Alex and Selena are absolutely brilliant; despite leaving you to come and go and explore as you please they are always happy to help and assist in any way they can. We felt very comfortable and at home here we did also have some car issues whilst we were over here and they literally bent over backwards to do everything they could to help us out. No areas of the farm were off limits we had a lot of fun venturing through the surrounding fields taking in the breathtaking countryside and meeting all the animals along the way. Long story short this is a fantastic little place to stay for anybody who is looking to enjoy and explore the true countryside. Thank you so much for having us we are very much hoping to come out and stay with you again soon 😁

    Nicole2020-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • Great sheep farm experience with welcoming hosts. The fire was lit when we arrived and there was a great atmosphere in the cottage. All the amenities we needed were there, and we felt very lucky to see the buildings and livestock of a working farm. Way better than a clinical hotel stay. A highlight for us was a tasty cooked breakfast which included black pudding, fresh duck eggs and bacon with the hosts in the farmhouse kitchen. Already missed Selena and Alex’ conversaion while we drove away. Highly recommend this place.

  • Tom’s place is clean and tidy, it has a comfortable layout with everything you need for a couple to stay. We brought our dogs and it was great to see them made welcome also. The fire was lit for us when we arrived which was cosy. The kitchen has lots of bits and pieces in it rather than being bare of food and everything we needed was there. Tom was friendly, made sure we had what we needed and was happy to talk to us about finding things to do.

    Lyndsay2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic cottage in a really nice setting. Really close to a lot of amazing sites in Wicklow, we really enjoyed hiking Glendalough and walking Brittas Bay beach. Facilities in the cottage are great, perfect for cooking a meal and relaxing in front of the fire for the evening. Loads of really helpful tips of sites to see in the area. We really enjoyed our stay here, as did our dog who spent most of the evenings running around with the dogs who live there. We will be definitely be back.

    Christopher2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Tom's place was ideal - great facilities, lovely setting and Tom was really helpful and friendly. Tom and Elli's guidebook of local tips was particularly helpful. Both of us and our dog had a fab weekend and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again for any future Wicklow adventures.

    Krzysztof2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • The place is so cozy. It has all that you need for a relax vacation with your pets. I love how Tom let his doggo welcome us as he was not home to greet us when we checked in. Despite the weather we had a lovely stay at Tom's place. Thanks for lighting the fireplace for us. We for sure will choose Tom's place again. Highly recommend!

    Tuyet2020-01-08T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed in Tom’s lovely cottage for two nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. It’s nice and cosy with a wood stove which really warms the place up, and it has everything you need in the kitchen plus a good sized bedroom and loft area. Tom has thoughtfully left some very helpful local tips on walking trails, local pubs etc, and he’s only too happy to share local knowledge with you. This is the perfect place to base yourselves and explore the beautiful Wicklow mountains area. We hope to be back one day!

    Mitch2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Breathtaking location. Cottage is well equipped. Check in was easy. Lots of local tips provided and Tom was available to answer any questions we might have had. Wi-Fi worked well. Cell phone service was good. Quick drive to a small town with grocery and pharmacy. Definitely recommend!

Imagine a charming guesthouse only 40 minutes by car from Dublin, yet utterly pastoral and romantic, in the heart of the beautiful Garden County and within a few minutes of great walking in famous Glendalough! Unwind in this cosy home and let your hostess spoil you with delicious breakfasts of homemade scones and full Irish included in price...or if you prefer you can self cater!
My space is cosy and imaginatively decorated with feminine colour schemes and homely touches. There is a lovely family-friendly room with comfy king double bed (orthopaedic mattress) and comfy bed sofa which can be used for a child or for an adult. However, the room works equally well as a romantic space. There is another really lovely king double (master bedroom) with added queen single with sizeable marble en-suite bathroom with bath and shower. There are two other pretty rooms one with queen-size 4ft single bed and one with European double 4ft 6". All rooms are ensuite. I think my listing is unique because of the wealth of horse riding, garden touring and walking opportunities in the locality. Apart from the Wicklow National Park and wonderful Glendalough a few minutes away by car, there's also the stunning Brittas Bay beach only half an hour away by car. Ashford itself is a charming and friendly village which boasts the famous Mount Usher Gardens, inspired by the great English Romantic gardens of 100 years ago. Special features of my space are the fact that I can do lovely afternoon teas (in the drawing room or lavender terrace €18 pp) as I am an artisan baker. I can also give baking classes for those who are especially keen to learn to bake. €30 per baking class which teaches scones and soda bread. Dinner is €25 for nibbles hearty country house style main course and small dessert or €15 for just main course. All welcome to BYOB. The maximum my space fits would be 9 people (3 in the family double room 1 adult per single room with queensize 4ft bed 3 in the master bedroom with added single bed and 2 in the smaller double). I also have two handy travel cots for babies.
There is such a wealth of beauty and amazing scenery for the nature lover, it's hard to know where to begin! The absolutely stunning views from the famous Glendalough walks...the lovely little Wicklow villages...the vale of Avoca, the views from the top of Wicklow town which are like Antibes with magnificent coastal views and basking seals. Wonderful Brittas Bay beach is the perfect place for a romantic walk with your loved one or a playful day with children. And there are great horse riding opportunities in Glendalough, in Bel Air Hotel in Ashford and in Boswell Equestrian Centre, (just around the corner from me). Wicklow is also a very popular place for cyclists and there are many beautiful and scenic routes. It is possible to hire bikes locally. Also, there is fine dining in The Wicklow Heather, Laragh, The Lighthouse restaurant Wicklow and the famous Bates of Rathdrum. And for the traditional diner, there is always fabulous Hunters Hotel near Ashford for the perfect Sunday lunch or romantic dinner for two. In addition, there is the charming and friendly Chester Beatty pub in Ashford with a lovely menu, and there is Avoca Garden Cafe in Mount Usher Courtyard in Ashford.
  • I do not know where to start to tell about this lovely place. This is a wonderful house with romantic touches and all necessary amenities. En-suite Bathroom in master bedroom had almost everything I may need, this was so thoughtful and more than I could imagine. The living room with an openfire is a lovely spot that makes you feel at home. We stayed at master bedroom and this room had a corner sofa which we just kept watching the rain and enjoy our cup of teas when we arrived. It was so cosy. Handmade scones at Breakfast was again thoughtfulness of great host Eleanor. She is a energetic person and also very kind at same time. She picked us up from village and gave us enjoyable tour around the village. I cannot recommend enough this place to everyone who looks for a runaway from the city. Keep in mind Eleanor has a great taste of romantic touches you may enjoy.

On arrival there was homemade scones, prosecco and even face masks for us. I would definitely recommend it to anybody looking for a nice peaceful relaxing night away. The jacuzzi and the fire were the icing on the cake. We woke up feeling very refreshed today after it 😁 5*+

We could also visit their organic farm and pet the donkeys, horses and of course dogs and cats. The location is perfect if you plant to visit both Wicklow mountains and the coast. Big room and toilet with plenty of space and very quiet to get a good rest. We hope to come back here in our next trip to Wicklow!

The site is located on our property which is very secure and surrounded by trees and security gates. We also have our local shop directly beside us which also has a deli counter and all the basic shop needs with a filling station attached. The surrounding area boasts a beautiful countyside located only 5 mins to Kilmacurragh Botanical Gardens and 10 mins to Avoca village, (the famous Avoca Handweavers is a must to Visit and their coffee shop and food area is scrumptious !!) There are beautiful picnic areas close by and I will advise you on what are the main events and festivals that are on at the time. Wicklow is a wonderful place for the guest /family who just want time out or the more adventureous who want to track the hills of Glendalough or Avondale. We have a beautiful garden area which is part of the site and where you can barbecue and sit outside to enjoy the day in your own private area. The area has raised flower beds which I am just finishing out which will be beautiful to admire over the summer. There will be a selection of children's and adults books to enjoy with a dvd player and Seorview channels on the T.V.
The local shop, church, school and main bus routes to Dublin airport and the ferry are located outside the property.

Host family were very good to us with little touches left for us and great help for us too letting us know what to do around area. Even tho it says you pay for electricity it is very economical to heat the place. Would recommend it. Children really enjoyed it as well.

  • Staying with Margaret and her wonderful family was very special - even if we were only there for two nights, she made us feel very welcome and her kids and husband were great. The mobile home was better equipped than all other places that we stayed at in Ireland - so best out of seven! Thanks Margaret!

The lone traveler, Wicklow Town, Glendalough one of Ireland's most beautiful visitors' destinations only short distance from my AirBnB, , one room is dedicated to sharing and caring, some times you could have the room to yourself, or be sharing with another lone traveler like yourself. , this was Li said "Love the vibe of the house! The decoration is outstanding! It's cool to see different people from different countries in the house as well
Cool funky relaxed comfortable dwelling. Simple as that
    Very quiet neighborhood
  • Its a great spot for those looking to stay somewhere inexpensive but also enjoy the company of others. He made fresh bread and a hearty dinner! It felt like a family atmosphere with the other travelers there. He’s got so much knowledge of food and mental development. Definitely recommended!

  • Hello, It was great to live with the Airbnb host these few days. It is a place who wants to relax, music ... and is cheap in comparison with the prices of other places! Tasty breakfast, fresh homemade bread, and sometimes even dinner like at home! Super host! With good humor! I recommend to all :) And thanks for Super Host! :)

    Katazina2019-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • Risteard is well deserving of his super host title I enjoyed my stay at Wicklow I felt at home as comfortable.

    Zola-David2019-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • It was a great experience. Risteard is a great man, very helpful and laid back. I came down to fresh porridge both mornings and happened across a dinner he had made for himself and some other guests and he had quickly insisted that I help myself to everything he made. I was feeling a bit unwell, and he offered some remedies to ease my symptoms, as well as driving me to the train station the day I left. The price was good, the place is nice, the host is great, and his dog is a sweetheart, I definitely recommend it.

  • We had a lovely stay. The place was so clean and modern. Special touches included leaving fresh eggs and milk and salt and oil for cooking. Step stools for toddlers in each bathroom. Safety blinds in each room. Plenty of towels provided and shampoo and shower gel. Kids loved the books and board games also. Highly recommend for families.

  • I cannot recommend this stay enough. Incredible location, beautiful scenery, immaculate amenities. Clare also provided wonderful touches with local guide information, signs around the place and it was show room condition when we arrived. The photos do not do it justice, it's impossible to capture how great the rooms, kitchen and bathrooms are. Don't hesitate to book here! Book as soon as you can and for as long as you can!

  • A lovely quiet space with a well stocked kitchen. 2 separate bathrooms and bedrooms for privacy. Not accessible by public transport. Dog-friendly. Warm and spacious. Amazing views. Lovely hosts. Great wifi.

  • Amazing stay, the location is ideal if you're looking for a quiet place. Wake up in the morning staring at the horses. The place was very clean and to a very good standard. We stayed with my wife and son and had plenty of space to enjoy staying indoors on these long rainy days. The place is warm and cozy. Clare is very responsive and super helpful. There is everything you'll need to cook. I'd definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants to explore the Wicklow area, it's also not far from Dublin, and only 5 km to the motorway that connects Dublin to Wexford.

  • A Gem! Located on a horse farm in the country; quiet, clean, comfortable and new/modern amenities. Clare is a lovely host who brought us fresh eggs and we particularly connected with her equine lifestyle. Don't miss this if you prefer peace and quiet in the Irish countryside.

    Donna2019-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • Clare’s space is top notch. Everything is modern, clean and comfortable. A lovely touch was waking up and seeing some of their beautiful horses in the fields each morning. The fresh eggs were delicious, and the bread, milk and butter was much appreciated. We loved using the space as a base for exploring the east coast, especially in and around the Wicklow mountains. I wish we had more time to spend there.

    Ryan2019-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • Kilcandra is a modern, clean cottage in a beautiful area and has everything needed for a comfortable stay. All fixtures and fittings are of a very high standard - worthy of particular note is the terrific main bathroom and shower. I would not hesitate to book again.

    David2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great stay here. The location is stunning and all the rooms were spotless and finished to a brilliant standard. Communication and check in/out were all great, no issues at all. Would 100% recommend!

It sleeps up to 3 people, has a bathroom and a small basic kitchenette, equipped with fridge, microwave, toaster, & kettle, Its at the side of the house with doors leading out onto a covered patio area looking out on a large garden. Secluded from the main house & totally private.
Lador is a large bungalow on a totally secluded, quiet, gated 2 acre plot. It's 5 minutes drive from Wicklow Town, 5 minutes drive from the N11, 5 minutes drive from our gorgeous local beach, Magheramore, 10/15 minutes from Brittas Bay, 25 minutes from Glendalough & the Wicklow Mountains & 50 minutes from Dublin. There is ample parking space for 2/3 cars. PLEASE NOTE; LADOR IS JUST OUTSIDE WICKLOW TOWN AND BALLINTESKIN IS A LOCAL HAMLET. DO NOT DRIVE TO BALLINTESKIN HILL NEAR HOLLYWOOD WHICH IS THE OTHER SIDE OF THE WICKLOW MOUNTAINS!!!
If you want a quiet, secluded rural location which is also close to a lively town, the sea & beach, the Wicklow mountains & the motorway to Dublin, Wexford & beyond, then Lador is for you. I love the fact that I live in a rural oasis of calm near the sea & the mountains, but in less than an hour, you can be in the centre of Dublin enjoying the sites & sounds of a vibrant capital city.
  • The apartment I reserved was unexpectedly unavailable so Michael was kind enough to let me stay in a room in his home. It wasn't exactly what I wanted but he made me feel very welcome and at home. Even cooked me a full Irish breakfast each morning. The property is gorgeous, the area is peaceful and exactly what I hoped it would be. I was provided plenty of tips on what to do and where to eat. Thoroughly enjoyed my short stay with Michael. Thanks!

    William2019-11-26T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place, very well equipped and cosy. Michael is a great host and very communicative.

    Ritchie2019-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • Michael is very hospitable and helpful. The price is absolutely top for this location and the garden studio. The bathroom and the beds were clean. We really enjoyed our time.

    Anna2019-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Wicklow is a lovely part of Ireland with many attractions on the doorstep, away from the hustle and bustle of the town, this lovely peaceful setting, helps to recharge and connect back to nature, it was lovely to hear the birds in the morning. The unit is private from the main house, yet there is access for house should you need anything. Great host and Ben the spaniel is very friendly. The place is very dog oriented.

    Julie2019-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • The studio was perfect for our stay in Ireland. Michael was a very welcoming host... even with our late arrival due to car breaking down! It had everything we needed... lovely clean private studio with lots of space in a quiet location with a very comfy bed. It has its own private outdoor seating area, perfect to sit out in with our dog. We used the studio as we were visiting friends in the area and we will definitely be returning next year.

    Mel2019-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • We had a nice stay in the apartment of Michael. It is really cousy and he had a nice collection of DVDs to watch before bed. It's close to Wicklow town and to the beach really nice.

    Manuela2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • Michael is a fantastic host; he’s friendly and helpful, and has a great knowledge of the local area and beyond. His dog, Ben, is utterly gorgeous. The studio is lovely and comfortable - perfect for a peaceful getaway. Michael has ensured the place has lots of little touches to make it ideal; all of which were greatly appreciated. The location is close to Wicklow centre, which has places to eat, drink and shop. It is also close to other sights, such as beaches and walks. We would definitely stay with Michael again when back this way.

    Carolyn2019-08-09T00:00:00Z

Nestled in a secluded spot near the village of Roundwood Co. Wicklow in the "Garden of Ireland". The Pulpit offers hospitality, peace, tranquility and in the true sense of the phrase "you get away from it all". Close to the ancient monastic city of Glendalough and all amenities. You can chill and have a drink in the highest pub in Ireland or hike away. This is a quiet rural location, there is no public transportation so your own transport is essential. A light cooked breakfast is included
    Use of lovely relaxing garden
Very quiet in a rural setting
  • Graham was a phenomenal host. He gave great advice on locations to drive through with beautiful scenery, rather than us driving the M50 straight to Cork. We saw so much more than we had originally planned for and are so grateful. The company and environment was relaxing and welcoming. Star, his lab, is adorable and steals your heart. Would highly recommend to anyone staying in the Wicklow/Glendalough area.

  • A great place for our first night in Ireland. Stopped here after or flight in. Very easy to find and check in. Walked into town and to harbour. Had supper at the Riverside and then walked back and had a restful sleep. Ian's apartment was very clean, had everything we needed and was very quiet. Ian checked in on us in the morning and was very helpful in quickly responding afterward regarding a lost item. Would definitely recommend this.

Wicklow is a very pretty town just an hour from Dublin with good restaurants, music, cafes, wonderful walks along the coast or cliffs . It's a short drive (35 minutes) to Glendalough and the mountains or there is now a bus. Both Kilmacurragh and Mount Usher Gardens are just 15 minutes drive away.
This comfortable ensuite double room is in a modern home set in a quiet and pretty cul de sac very close to the main street, the river walk and the stunning coast line. The accommodation has a most comfortable double bed and ensuite shower room (with an excellent shower!) A lavish breakfast made to meet any requirements is served in the home's kitchen with access to the sunny garden and visitors are welcome to share the sitting room and television with your host. Wifi is also available. The town, 25 miles south of Dublin, has many opportunities for good eating with cafes and restaurants, some specialising in local, homemade or even raw food. Great local walks along the cliffs, and a short drive away are forests, Glendalough and the Wicklow mountains. Boat trips, canoeing, golf, fishing. Good public transport to Dublin and many easy day trips by car to Wexford, Kilkenny, Kildare. Loads to do from here.
the house is close to the main street with all its shops, pubs and restaurants, the river and the sea.
  • Laia is very nice and easygoing person. She's very friendly and you just know that she loves what she's doing. And her stories were amazing! Our trip was in the afternoon and we went in group of only 4 people plus Laia. She gave us wetsuits and other equipment and explained everything. You can even take a shower after the trip. Unfortunately, we didn't see as many dolphins as we expected and no turtles, but it was due to bad circumstances. Few scooters kept passing by and disturbing the animals. Also I think that maybe in the morning the animals would be more active than in the afternoon. But Laia kept trying to find more dolphins and the best spot for snorkeling. She was really great and excited. :) Also, beware that the paddling is kind of exhausting and you can get seasick easily. But it does not need to be an obstacle - my girlfriend got seasick and enjoyed it nevertheless... The few dolphins that we saw were awesome. Then Laia showed us red crabs on the cliffs, volcanic cave and finally we saw some beautiful fishes. And we even exceeded the two hours just to make sure we see as much as we can. All and all this trip was a great experience and I would recommend it for anyone who likes the sea and animals! Thank you again, Laia! :)

    Jiří2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • I recommend the experience 100%. Not only is kayaking among dolphins and swimming with turtles exceptional, but also dealing with Laia and Luca makes you feel like a family. Thanks guys, we will repeat!

    Mercè2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • A very relaxing paddling trip in a small group with nice people. Everything was very easy going and the sea was calm and cristal clear. The dolphins came close to the kajaks. The snorkling part was a bit short and we haven't seen a turtle..but that's nature. Overall a really nice experience.

    Mireille2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • Loved the location and comfort offered by the host

    Kevin2020-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • It was a great experience. Laia and Luca were enthusiastic themselves. I was upset about kayaking at first, but I was helped very well. Can see dolphins and turtles well.

    Trudi2020-01-30T00:00:00Z
  • The trip was nice. We saw dolphins. They came to say hello to us. The canoe trip was not too long. The water was warm for snorkeling even though it was January. It's a good idea to bring a bottle of water in your canoe. Laia and Luca are knowledgeable and nice

    Lea2020-01-17T00:00:00Z
  • What a fantastic experience. After a short kayak trip you arrive where the dolphins live and get to just sit and watch them go about their day. They came close to the kayaks (within 10m) and seemed unbothered by our presence. Then on to the cove for some snorkelling and turtle spotting. Luca the guide was excellent and really made the trip feel special. An absolute must do trip if you are in the area.

  • Risteard is a caring host who isn't afraid to go above and beyond for his guests. He made oatmeal every morning for all of the guests and was kind enough to give us a lift multiple times when we needed one. The other guests were very pleasant to be around as well and the place was always clean and warm. We felt like we could socialize when we wanted to and spend time on our own when we wanted to. I recommend going on walks down to the harbour and hang out by the water down in Wicklow town which is a short walk from Risteard's place, as well as getting up to Glendalough for a hike in the mountains. Ask Risteard about his cooking! He has great knowledge as a chef and is a delight to speak with about it. - Manuela and Kasper

  • Risteard is the most beautiful person you could ever meet. Extremely kind and caring towards his guests. He is a fantastic host, above and beyond not because he has to, that's just the way he is down to earth outstanding person. He is a chef so we decided to take the cooking class the next day as we had time. Money well spent an outstanding experience. Learned so much. It's what learing in school should have being like. Highly recommend this place if you are travelling around.

Find this special haven, the Coach House, within the unique ambience of a 17th century Quaker settlement. Architect-owned & 1 hour from Dublin airport, in historic, undulating countryside, 10 mins from Wicklow town and 8 mins from the 5km stretch of golden sands of Brittas Bay, we welcome guests to Ballymurrin Quaker Farmstead. Enjoy 350 years of history in stone lime-washed walls, with all mod cons - geothermal heating, power shower, and your very own entrance. Be at home ...
The award-winning architect owners provide accommodation that is special, sustainable and luxurious, allowing the beautiful simplicity of the building to shine through. The Coach House dates back to the 1600s, and is converted to provide a chic, authentic interior of light flowing spaces, whitewashed walls, porcelain floors with walk-in, en-suite wetroom. Guilt-free luxury includes underfloor geo-thermal heating and filtered well water. The bedroom opens onto a small stone terrace, made from the original flag-stoned floor. The double bedroom leads to a small hallway and ensuite. From there, access our newest old feature - the Forge - with clay fireplace, and a cunning kitchen hidden inside a cupboard. Here there is a workspace, sofa and dining table. There is a small fridge, microwave, toaster, a single induction hob and the makings of a cup of tea/coffee. We are delighted to announce that we have just added a secluded, private outdoor seating and barbecue zone in the unroofed cottage behind the house for the exclusive use of guests during summer months.
Close to everything, yet apart, this location will allow you to explore the Wicklow Mountains, enjoy one of the many world-class golf courses, stroll the gardens of Mount Usher, voted “the most romantic garden to visit in the Republic of Ireland”
, and stroll the structured Italianate gardens of Powerscourt. Savour gourmet cuisine in one of the Avoca Cafés, close by, from whence the best-selling Cookbooks derive, or select a different themed restaurant each evening. If coastline beckons, visit the most famous beach on the east coast, Brittas Bay. With no headlands to interfere with the peaceful rhythm, it is ideal for bathing, sailing, walking and never crowded. In Wicklow town, visit the haunted Gaol and prepare to be ‘afeared’; browse in the excellent fashion boutiques; enjoy lavished attention in one of the many beauty parlours or local spas. Or…simply relax ...
  • We enjoyed our stay at the coach house! We came to Ireland for our honeymoon this past summer and loved it so much we came back! We did mainly the west coast last time and decided to use Wicklow area as our base point this time. This is such a great location to travel up and down the coast! The breakfast items for the first day were a great touch. The space is so cute and was perfect for my husband and I. We decided we would make our breakfasts at the place and do dinners out. All items needed to cook were there and easy to use. I would recommend the coach house to anyone else traveling to Ireland!

Highly recommended, we definitely go back if we are in Ireland! Thanks Delpine and Philip

just 50 minutes from Dublin airport, 15 minutes from Glendalough & Brittas Bay Beach, 5 minutes from Tinakilly house & Mount Usher Gardens, 2 minutes from Kilmacurragh National Botanic Garden, with Deputies Pass, Carrik Mountain and Avondale House there is more than enough to keep our guest busy. Car is neccessary as we are in a very small village, with very limited public transport, taxis are available from wicklow town but advance booking would be needed.
My home is spacious/airy, I pride myself on high hygiene standards. my kitchen is available to my guest, with all mod cons. Thereis outdoor patio seating for either an early fresh coffee / yoga or a late night glass of wine, star gazing is amazing on a clear night. There is a fenced playground suitable for any under 10 year old guests. with swings/climbing frame (supervision required..)
My home is set in a beautiful rural setting, with limited noise/light pollution, with instant access to the M11/N11 I a perfectly located to meet any guests holiday requirments.
  • Everything was fine. I have a look for it, when I come back to Wicklow next time.

    Mista2019-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • I had such an amazing stay at Sheena‘s beautiful house! The accommodation is perfect if you come from a hike in Wicklow Mountains for example. Sheena and her daughter welcomed me to their mother-daughter night and we had such a splendid time! I can really recommend their place!

    Patricia2019-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • Very tidy and lovely AirBnb house equipped with everything you need. A good bed and nice bathroom. Sheena is a great host and there when you need her. I had a great stay!

    Conor2019-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • Very helpful even offering to give me a lift. Clean amenities, offering of tea coffee etc. Very quiet. Not far from Wicklow Mountains National Park (car required). Thanks for a great nights sleep.

    Rachel2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Sheenas place and really enjoyed our time there and especially the great conversation.

    Lisa2019-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • Sheena's place is as described. It's away from the main town but not that away. I loved your house and she and her partner is amazing. Got good tips for the area. Overall loved the stay....

    Apurva2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • This was a lovely place to stay, close to many of the touristy things in Wicklow co. Sheena was a wonderful host when I arrived they were having a family get together and I was offered to join them for food and drinks which I thought was very lovely of them to invite a stranger to their party. The place was very clean, quiet and close to many amenities (by car). I very much enjoyed my time there.

    Emily2019-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • It was the quietest night ever. No noise disturbs the night's sleep. The place is a good starting point to eat in Wicklow, for example, or to hike in the mountains, what we did. Sheena is friendly in touch and always gives good tips. The price-performance ratio fits well you can recommend the place well.

Set on the outskirts of the Wicklow Mountains, this spacious 3 bed property with landscaped garden, is ideally suited to walkers and holiday makers alike. It is the perfect place from which to explore this beautiful part of Ireland: Dublin, Glendalough, the Wicklow Way , Stately Homes, Beaches ( 8 miles drive) Waterfalls and Clara Lara water park (seasonal). The house is 5 min walk to the town centre (with restaurant / pubs serving food) ,and 15 min. walk to the mainline station (Dublin).
The house is set in its own grounds with easy parking
In the immediate area there are beautiful woods and river walks, including Avondale, once the home of Charles Stewart Parnell. The town centre has been used as a film location ( Michael Collins / Love divided ) Town facilities include Parnell Park, the quirky Cartoon Pub, two churches, four pubs- one of which serves excellent food, Bates top class restaurant , a supermarket and, don’t forget a visit to the coffee shop – once the coffin shed!
  • James's house was just what we needed. I loved all the little things that made it feel very homely. Great kitchen with everything you need. Super close to town. Lovely stay.

    Alese2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • The house was perfect. A large Irish house in the countryside. Restaurants and pu nearby. A supermarket for shopping. We had rented a car and were able to walk around the county. A wonderful area and very nice people. ++ for Christina who took care of the accommodation and was very responsive. I highly recommend. A real bowl of fresh air

  • Charming house with a very pretty garden. We were 5 and all delighted with the comfort of amenities and bedding. The village of Rathdrum is very relaxing and located 20 minutes from Glendalough and its beautiful views of the Wicklow Mountains. The finishing touch: the pretty Rathdrum Cartoon Inn, which was full even on Sunday nights! In short, perfect experience.

    Victor2019-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • Jame’s cottage far exceeded our expectations. Communication was excellent and check in a breeze. The location was brilliant, within easy walking distance to the village. The place was sparkling clean and incredibly spacious. Warm and cosy with all the amenities you could wish for. If your looking for a great property and value for money you cannot go past this gem in Rathdrum!

  • Very clean and tidy. The living spaces and master bedroom are very spacious and comfortable. All the extra bathrooms with showers and a bath made our stay extra comfortable. The laundry machines are good - they are outside in a separate little shed, just next to the house. Highly recommend! We wish we had planned to stay longer because we were so comfortable.

  • We had a great time at James' house. It's very spacious, well equipped and very clean. The communication with James was superb, he always replied very swiftly. A supermarket, takeaway restaurants and a few pubs are present in walking distance. For us, it was perfect with a short trip to the Wicklow Mountains to hike and a short trip to Wicklow to see the sea. Definitely recommendable!

  • A gorgeous cottage tucked away in the Wicklow countryside, perfect for a weekend escape. Tara's place offers a cosy welcome in front of the fire after a long day exploring. We would definitely stay again, thank you!

    Hal2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely relaxing stay in Tara's place. The place is very peaceful and idyllic. Lovely forest walks near by which we really enjoyed. The stove was lighting when we arrived which was so nice on cold day. Would definitely stay again.

  • Thanks so much Tara, we really enjoyed the stay. It really is a lovely barn conversion, super clean and beautiful scenery around. The only very minor thing would be the heaters in the main room working on arrival but once we got them firing, it was all good. Thanks so much for hosting.

    Gerard2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Tara’s place was the perfect base for our weekend away in Wicklow! It was an easy drive to many popular places like Gelndalough, Avoca, Bray and Greystones. The cottage was beautifully situated, well furnished and very cosy for our winter stay. The kitchen had everything we needed for the time we were there. Tara was very helpful in her communication about our stay and was very accomodating. I would highly recommend Tara’s place to any couple looking for a weekend retreat in the Wicklow countryside!

  • Lovely accommodation for a relaxing weekend away! Great location, close to Brittas Bay and Glendalough. Tara was very helpful with whatever we needed.

    Emma2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Such a lovely air bnb. Location was gorgeous. The property itself was set inside a courtyard so was private and quiet. A lovely cosy space. Tara had the heating on and the fire lighting for us on arrival, which was very much appreciated on a cold, wet day! Would recommend a stay here.

    Aoife2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • An oasis of calm and tranquility, we could not recommend Taras place higher for someone looking for a few days away to recharge or to explore the beautiful surroundings of Wicklow. So relaxing! The accommodation is well renovated, laid out and so welcoming. When we arrived in the evening on New Years Eve, Tara had some lights on, the fire lit and a Christmas tree up which was lit up and it was so welcoming! Also, the electric blanket was on on the bed, a cosy and warm surprise. As a host, Tara was wonderful. Any queries we had, she responded super fast and was so helpful, 10 out of 10!

Swallow Barn is a converted farm building on Ballard Farm that has been host to families for over 30 years in the tranquil landscape of Co Wicklow. The original interior has been beautifully restored, revealing the original thick structural beams and stone work. This allows for a spacious yet cosy ambience, heated by a combination of radiators and a large Waterford log stove. Doors open out onto the farmyard, where the daily comings and goings of farm life can be enjoyed from your morning cuppa.
Ballard farm, facing south west into a beautiful Wicklow valley, has been held by Michael and Denise Sloan for over fifty years. In the early days the farm bred and managed a jersey dairy herd and later changed to sheep and tillage. The farm is situated a full kilometer from the road, with a glorious avenue edged by spring bulbs and mature trees. The farmyard has a traditional courtyard design with the rear of the family house facing stables opposite, flanked by Swallow Barn (originally for livestock) to one side and The Granary (originally a grain barn) opposite. On occasion we have had joint rentals of the two houses to accommodate for family reunions and large holiday celebrations for which the situation of the two houses works perfectly. The substantial grounds, in and around Ballard Farm, are a gardeners delight. Full credit must be given to Denise Sloan, whose creative and natural green touch is evident by the spectacular array of blooms and sweetly scented flowering throughout all seasons, including a productive vegetable garden, orchard and wild flower paddock. The large shared garden is ideal for relaxation, play and shade with the old apple tree as host to an array of jungle ropes, swings and hammock amongst the leafy branches. Since the conversion to self-accommodation of two of the main farm buildings, Swallow Barn and The Granary, we now have many regular visitors and always enjoys meeting new guests. Both houses are open all year round.
Ballard Farm is situated at the southern part of Co Wicklow near to Brittas bay, the first of the many long sandy beaches which stretch down the coast through Wexford. We are ideally situated with plenty of activites to suit all ages near by. Wicklow town (10 minute drive) is a charming harbor town with many interesting shops, laid back cafes, and a variety of quality restaurants and an excellent bookshop to stock up on your holiday reading. The historic town Gaol (Jail) is very popular with the older children, some evenings special scary tours are arranged. Other activities for children include a kidszone, bowling alley, swimming pool and marine activities. There is even a celebrity seal called Sammy who swims into the harbour for his early evening meal provided by The FishMan who stocks an excellent selection of fresh fish and seafood. There are a number of local country pubs all within a short driving distance that do meals also. If you want to get out into the fresh air there is a selection of golf courses from par 3 to international championship courses within thirty minutes drive. World renowned Mount Usher (Robinsonian) gardens and Powerscourt House and garden are also near with many other gardens open throughout the summer. Horse riding is also a popular activity with plenty of trekking centres nearby. Bikes can be rented locally also, although note that whilst the farm enjoys a wonderful elevated aspect, the hills can be tough on the cycling legs so some cycling experience would be recommended! Brittas Bay is the nearby coastline (6 km) with stunning golden sandy beaches and gentle waves, perfect for a walk any time of year. There is a small surfing school, with classes all summer and usually on the term breaks off season. And if relaxation is in mind there is an superb yoga studio just 3 kilometers from us. They offer a selection of levels and class types and dropins are welcome with a quick call before to check availability. For the walkers out there Wicklow is a must with routes that will cater for all levels. Going west, inland to the mountains, Glendalough was one of the most important early christian settlements in Europe and makes an inspiring visit with many walking trails, for both beginners and advanced, starting at this point. Dublin is only an hours drive away although most guests like to opt for the rail route which takes the same time but travels along the coastline. Back on the farm there are bar-b-qs for your use and most weeks there is some seasonal activity happening on the farm.

  • Pascal was an excellent host, always willing to help! He showed us some nice spots in the town and was always there if we had a question! I’m 100% sure he would’ve done even more for us than he already did if we only asked him about anything. The room was also very lovely! Comfortable beds and everything was very clean, so was the little bathroom! If we ever come back to Wicklow Pascal will definitely be our host again!:)

  • Great stay at Pascal! We had a quiet, clean room. Pascal is very nice, thank you again

    Martin2019-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • The room was clean and spacious. We had a private bathroom which was perfectly clean, a good shower and several supplies. The view over their beautiful garden, the churches and the sea is really nice to see when you wake up in the morning. Breakfast is prepared with love and attention. Delicious fresh fruit and homemade bread are being served. Because of good weather sometimes we had breakfast in the garden on the terrace. In fact I never had so much delicious fresh fruit anywhere before. Lucy and Pascal were very helpful and gave good advice. This was particularly nice for us because we travelled only on foot or by public transport. Also with regard to restaurants they knew nice addresses and even made reservations for us. They adapt to their guests and notice well when their guests want some privacy. We shared recipes with Lucy since preparing food was a common interest. During our stay we visited Mount Usher in Ashford and Glendalough, which is now perfectly accessible by the new provided bus line only for a few Euro’s. We also made a cliff hike just outside the town near the golf course. Great views along the shore. We spotted several seals playing in the water or sunbathing on small hidden beaches. The distance from the B&B to the city centre and points of interest of the town are 15 minutes at most. All the people we met were really friendly and helpful.

  • Pascal is a great host. I was using Airbnb for the first time. Pascal and his family made us feel at home. We had a great conversation over wine and got to know the family. They helped us with the directions. Pascal and Lucy are great and wonderful hosts. Highly recommend this beautiful home to travelers/visitors.

Risteard playing guitar on his coffee table and his dancing daughter ended up all drawing! • A peculiar host. The house about 20 minutes from downtown Wicklow but a great experience. If you want to rest and nobody bothers you, maybe it is not your place but if you are looking for a great different experience!

    Andrea2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • I came from Germany and stayed at Risteards for two weeks. In those two weeks I learned more about good Energy and a healthy Food Circle, than I did in the last 3 years, working in a hotel in my Hometown. He gave me great Tips and helped me to create my own little business on Udemy.com, all within a couple of days. The way Risteard looks at Life and how he enjoys it to the fullest in the simplest way, we all could learn a lot from him. I'm very grateful for the experience I earned and I'm proud to call this genius my Mentor. His hospitality is on another level, and his dog Trigger will welcome everyone who takes a little Time out of their day to pet him.

  • My first experience using air bnb. He was quite helpful and accommodating. Offered to pick my up instead of taking the bus, offered a ride to the airport instead of the bus, did laundry for me, made breakfast every day; was just an excellent host. Personality wise if you grew up listening to The Beatles you'll like him. As an American visiting and lost I appreciated his helpfulness. The house is smaller but if you don't mind a modest living it's a good bargin for the price. Plus there is a bus stop out side maybe at most .1 km away

  • Very good place to start a trip to Ireland. The host is a caring person, who has a real sense of hospitality, and with whom it is pleasant to exchange. It is very easy to feel at home quickly. Special mention for the discovery of the vegan lifestyle, which I am absolutely not adept but it is very interesting to experiment.
