Places to stay in Glenbrittle
An original Skye Croft House, overlooking Loch Harport & views to the Cuillins. Its just a three minute drive from the village of Carbost with its Old Inn & the Talisker Distillery, furnished with my mix of old with modern & of course the essential log fire
Bright, , not a drop of tartan in sight, a calm house with lots of space for 4, room enough for the children inside and a private garden for them to burn off energy,, for older kids and adults the land all around is open access, just remember its "working" land so you will share it with sheep!
Absolute silence, the constantly changing light on the water and mountains.
  • Great location with stunning views. Carbost has a great little coffee shop and a local fish and oyster shop. House is very clean and warm. Loved our stay on Skye.

  • Perfect. A wonderful hideaway in a great location.

  • Grant's place on Skye is really lovely - cosy, warm and welcoming. There are amazing views from the living room to the hills opposite, loch and to the Cuillin, and lovely comfy chairs to enjoy it all from. The location is perfect, and there are nice places to visit in Carbost and nearby, and it is also a great base from which to visit the further places in Skye, knowing that you'll return to a warm cottage at the end of the day. Grant provided plenty of logs and kindling, and was very kind and responsive during my stay. I would definitely stay here again when visiting Skye. Thanks Grant!

  • We had a really great stay at Grant's place. We were there during Storm Dennis, which included there being a lightning strike which knocked the power out in the whole village for about 5 hours. Grant messaged straight away to check we were ok - we got the wood burner going and had a nice cosy evening by the fire! The house is lovely, really spacious, clean, and very comfortable. Had everything we needed, really good cooking equipment etc. Even though we were there when it was pretty cold outside, it was always lovely and warm when the heating was on or the fire was lit. We'd definitely recommend the cottage, and might look to come back again (maybe when there are fewer weather warnings out..!)

  • Outstanding property in a fantastic location: there are sea views from every room. A thoughtful conversion of a traditional croft, with stylish decor and original touches: modern, but cosy at the same time. This place is very special, one of the best holiday-let properties I’ve stayed in, anywhere. Thank you Grant, had a great short break, hope to return soon.

The Blacksmith's bothy is a traditional black house with thick lime washed stone walls. These compliment a modern kitchen and wood burning stove. Set in a peaceful location, the building is over 100 years old. It is surrounded by croft land and spectacular cliff top walks. Situated very close to Spar cave and 5 minutes drive to Elgol. A private, screened deck area and hot tub is adjacent to the bothy with sea views through a wooded glade. Perfect as a romantic retreat.
The Blacksmith's bothy is a renovated traditional old blackhouse bursting with character. You will find a bright clean space containing a brand new kitchen, a dining area, rocking chair, state of the art CD player music system with a wide variety of music, a battery operated DVD player and selection of films as well as a beautiful bespoke day bed so you can be cosy and comfortable in front of the wood burning stove whether having a romantic evening or relaxing during the day. The house is decorated to reflect the owners passions for art. Some of the prints are the owners own work. There is also a display of blacksmith tools from his own workshop. Creative workshops are available by request if booked in advance but the bothy is a completely private space for you to enjoy and relax. The kitchen is equipped for you to fully self cater and contains a microwave, a fridge and two electric hobs. There is also a kettle , toaster and a cafetière for coffee. You will not however find an oven, a grill or a freezer. We want to make you aware of this so you can plan your shopping. There is a small ice box which would fit one or two items only. Adjacent to the bothy you will find a raised deck area with a wood fired hot tub lit with fairy lights and optional insect screening. Also you can enjoy dining out at a table with two chairs and a bbq. A selection of wetsuits are available to borrow should you wish to swim in the sea at the bottom of the croft.
Glasnakille is a spectacular secluded village in South Skye with commanding views over Loch Slapin towards the Sleat Peninsula. There are also views of the small isles of Eigg and Rum nearby. `The mountains of knoydart can be seen in the distance. There are very quiet roads on which it is possible to walk or jog. You can walk the coastal path to Kilmarie which then takes you into Camasunary bay and the heart of the Cuillin . It is possible to have a quiet stroll or a big adventure without even taking the car. However Elgol is a five minute drive away with its famous boat trips to Loch Coruisk. Stunning views of the Cuillin can be seen along with walks to Prince Charlie's cave and amazing honeycomb cliffs near the pier. Glasnakille is home of spar cave, a 50metre long cave which can only be accessed at low tide. It has a fascinating flowstone staircase contained within it. Our nearest supermarket is 15 miles away. The co operative supermarket in Broadford is open till ten pm. This is also where you will find a 24 hour petrol station. However our area is remote and peaceful and there are no shops or restaurants or pubs within walking distance. We believe this just adds to its charm however. Bookings can be made for evening meals at Coruisk house in Elgol but these need to be made well in advance.
  • James is an amazing host, so friendly and hospitable. Location is beautiful and the bothy is stunning. 5 star🌟

    Charlotte2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • The bothy is a beautiful, quaint and cosy space situated in a remote yet accessible location. The surrounding scenery and trails are breathtaking and the wood burning stove and hot tub made this an unforgettable stay. James was quick to respond to any questions and was extremely friendly and inviting. Highly recommended.

  • Great place to stay! Lovely views and plenty of local walks near, very peaceful and relaxing. Was good to have the log burner with the cold weather would definately go back.

    Craig2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • The bothy is in a lovely remote part of Skye. Very cosy. James really went out of his way to make sure I had everything I needed. 😊 thanks!

  • A beautifully cosy space perfectly suited to an island adventure on stunning Skye. Would definitely book again 😊

    Lisa2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • A fantastic, secluded place to stay in an out of the way place with lovely scenery. Log burner was lovely after being out in the rain all day! James was a great host and very friendly, his directions were easy to follow and we found it with no problem. Go well prepared and stock up with food, nearest shops are 30 mins away in winter months! Would recommend for a restful, away from it all, few days.

    Jane2020-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • James's place was wonderful. We wanted peace and quiet and that was exactly what we got. We arrived in the dark so didn't see much of the view from the drive down. But the following day was a real treat! The directions to the Bothy were clear and precise and we found it in the dark with very little trouble. Logs and kindling were plentiful, so each evening we had a fire and heated up the hot tub twice. The shower and toilet were very clean and only a short walk away from the Bothy. A great place to stay, fantastic location and well worth the drive from the village.

The Studio is a contemporary eco building, cosy whatever the weather, with a wood burning stove. It has been designed by award winning architects Rural Design. The Studio is close to The Cuillin mountains, Talisker Distillery, Loch Bracadale. You can walk out from the studio directly into the landscape to the beach, sea cliffs and beautiful birch woods. The inside is thoughtfully and beautifully designed. A great space for couples and solo adventurers. We offer wifi internet connection.
The Studio is a contemporary architect designed space. It is cosy and warm whatever the weather. It has very low energy requirements and water consumption, using a Swedish waterless loo. Relax in a secluded private spot. Read by the wood burning stove with a cup of coffee, or walk directly out into the beautiful landscape around Loch Bracadale.
Loch Bracadale is a beautiful sea Loch with beaches and cliff walks. Sea Eagles nest not far along the cliffs. Gannets are often flying and diving for fish in the summer months.
  • If you looking for some ‘Hygge’ then the studio is the place, the perfect setting to watch the west coast weather pass by all whilst toasty warm by a wood burner! A great base for exploring Skye, had everything we needed. Nick was quick to respond and provided plenty of useful local recommendations. (The waterless loo got a little getting used to but was surprised by how well it worked.)

  • Lovely modern studio with breathtaking views! Perfect get away from city life. Had everything we needed and the host was very friendly and helpful. Sad we had to leave and couldn't stay forever!

    Henry2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • The Studio is a compact but perfectly put together modern space. It’s comfortable and practical...it wastes nothing. The windows give the most gorgeous views...on a clear night the moon and stars are beautiful, and during the day the view to the loch is amazing. The decor and design (everything from the blankets to the crockery to the way the bathroom works) really standout, and in the same way that trying to photograph Skye just doesn’t really do it justice, the Studio is so much better than the Airbnb listing shows. Whether you use this place as an amazing base for exploring the island, or snuggle up on the sofa in front of the wood burner this is a lovely warm space that will stay with you long after you’ve visited.

    Liam2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • We had a really great time at the studio. The studio itself is really cosy, and the view is stunning. Nicholas was really reactive and gave us good tips about Skye island. Was a really nice stay!

    Zoé2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • The studio is beautiful just like the surroundings. The fire makes the studio very cosy. Carbost is a nice village with the distillery, Paul’s Oyster Shed, coffee to go and the Old Inn. Good location to see many high lights of Skye. Don’t miss out on Jann’s Cakes in Dunvegan if you like sweets as much as I do. Nick is very friendly to. A place to recommend!

    Michelle2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Nicholas and Kate’s Studio is a beautiful, comfortable, and cosy place from which to experience the Isle of Skye. It had all the necessary amenities to cater for oneself and plenty of space in which to relax. Even going during what turned out to be a storm, we had an amazing time, cosied up inside, reading and drinking wine. It is also worth noting that the bed is very comfortable. We slept excellently despite the high winds and rain. Nicholas and Kate are fantastic hosts. They are quick to respond to messages and queries, attentive upon arrival, and extremely friendly and helpful. They provided us with all the information we would need to make the most of the Studio and Skye itself, including concise directions on finding the address, as it is situated in a very quiet area.

    Eleanor2020-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic stay in the studio. Easy to get to and great communication from Nick. The studio was stylish and cosy. Perfect surroundings, we were able to star gaze at night and explore Skye and it’s spectacular scenery in the day. Perfect location for a couple wanting to have some peaceful time away together. Will definitely go back!

  • Perfect Airbnb experience from start to finish! This perfectly formed little studio kept us toasty and warm from the battering winds outside. It's a lovely, relaxing place that is very well thought out. The open space with the woodburner and the big double door feels open, but very private, with an excellent view of the wild land/seascape beyond. The kitchen and dining area has everything you need and we had a very nice steak dinner with oven roast vegetables etc without a fuss. A small kitchen is easier to tidy up! The bathroom with composting toilet and walk in shower was spotless and the heated towel rail works quickly. (If you haven't used a compositing toilet before, it doesn't smell at all and it's eco friendly. It has clever fans that extract any smells! No risk of being woken by a flush in the middle of the night!) The bedroom is lovely and cosy. A window by the bedside allows cool air in and the space can be completely blacked out for a great sleep. The Harris Tweed curtains keep the bedroom cool if the living area is toasty. We didn't get to explore the surrounding area but we know it well, loads of great things to do and see. If you're a couple looking for a perfect hideout/ place to relax, whether you've spent the day playing Scrabble or climbing munros, don't hesitate and book if you can!

Red Mountain Cottage is beautifully and quietly situated on the edge of Carbost village, with stunning views overlooking Loch Harport and towards the Cuillin Mountains. This is a small, modern, but very well appointed cottage/cabin has been lovingly created to a high specification, including handmade beds and sills and a feature wall. The cottage sleeps 4, but is ideal for couples seeking a romantic break, as well as for sight-seeing, walking, climbing, fishing, mountain biking and kayaking.
The cottage is equipped for a maximum of 4 guests. The cottage is double glazed throughout and is heated by modern electric wall heaters. The cottage has a comfortable and modern sitting and dining room with stunning views over Loch Harport from the large picture window. Smart TV and Wi-Fi is available if you can tear yourself away from the view. However, please note that our WiFi signal in Carbost is currently very poor. The kitchen also affords guests more lovely views over the loch. It is very well equipped, including a gas hob/oven, extractor fan, fridge, microwave and washing machine. The pretty double bedroom has fitted wardrobes, a lovely bespoke larch headboard and window sill (made by our son) and lovely views towards the Cuillin Mountains. If you are awake, you can watch the glorious sunrise over the mountains. The bunk bedroom, has adult-sized beds (again, made by our son), over-bed reading lights and a double wardrobe. The modern bathroom has a walk-in shower, shaver point and heated towel rail. There is a hair drier, iron and ironing board. Babies/Children: We love children, but unfortunately the cottage is not suitable for children under the age of 10 years of age. All electricity costs for heating and hot water is included.
Red Mountain Garden Cottage is perfectly situated: In under 10 minutes, walk to the wonderful Old Inn (famous for its traditional music, hospitality and good food), to Talisker Distillery, Loch Harport shore, Carbost Pier, the village shop and post office or to the medical centre. Twenty minutes walk from home is the famous Oyster Shed and farm shop, where you can enjoy a variety of reasonably priced sea food, including locally caught lobster, langoustine, mussels or scallops. The major walking and climbing routes are just a short drive away or maybe you would prefer to kayak in the loch. There are wildlife or fishing boat trips available from Carbost in the summer season, as well as from Elgol (stunning drive) and Portree. Within 20 minutes or less, guests can visit the lovely Fairy pools, Glenbrittle and Talisker beaches, Dunvegan Castle or the peaceful Glen Eynort. There are mountain bike trails nearby. There is a small but perfect cinema at The Aros Centre (also a music venue and visitor centre with a cafe and little indoor play area for small children). The Aros is situated just before you reach Portree. If you would like to join in a Scottish Ceilidh then you can do so at the Sligachan hotel on most Saturdays in the tourist season. From the cottage, we regularly see Sea/ White Tailed Eagles, Golden Eagles, Hen Harriers and herons. If you are lucky, you may see otters in the loch. When the mackerel are in, you might see porpoises or dolphins.
  • MAGNIFICENT ! The Cottage is in a great location with a heavenly view! Bedding at the top, Cottage at the top (impeccable cleanliness, complete equipment, near essential places). Not to mention the generosity and sympathy of Linda and Allan who are ready for anything for the well being of the occupants! I highly recommend !

    Alessandro2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • I can’t say enough about this place. We were planning a trip to Scotland and wanted to see Edinburgh, Aberdeen, and finish at Isle of Skye. When I saw Linda’s and Allen’s Airbnb listing in my online search I immediately fell in love and the place did not disappoint in person. We visited in March and the weather was gloomy and rainy but the views were breathtaking anyway. Linda and Allan’s hospitality was exceptional and the place was clean, specious, and filled with all the amenities you would need. One random detail that I absolutely loved was the water pressure. Everywhere else we stayed had little to no pressure and showers were not a pleasant experience. This was by far our best Airbnb on this trip and I would highly recommend. We were very sad to check out and will greatly miss this little cottage.

    Lily2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Unfortunately due to unforeseen circumstances we weren’t able to stay at Linda and Allan’s place but Linda went above and beyond organising alternative accommodation. She took time to research for us which we appreciated so much. Throughout our trip Linda also messaged with tips for around the island and the village, including opening times of shops etc and also to see how we were. We could see Linda and Allan’s house from the village it is the perfection location we felt as it’s so close the village which has a pub and shop and is a short drive to local tourist spots. It is a beautiful house they have and we would love to come stay in future!

    Erin2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • A fantastic location! We enjoyed the Isle of Skye very much. Very welcoming and the house was very clean and pleasantly decorated. Highly recommended!

  • Linda and Allan’s place was accessible, clean and well-appointed. Thanks for a wonderful stay, Linda and Allan!

  • The view is STUNNING! The cottage is cozy, clean and well equiped, perfect for four persons. Linda and Allan gave us all the information we needeed to come and enjoy our stay. They took great care of us during the storm and made everything easy for us. We recommend this place! The view is beautiful ! The cottage is charming, comfortable, clean and well equipped, perfect for 4 people. Linda and Allan were very attentive and gave us all the practical information for our arrival and our stay. We had a storm and they were considerate. We highly recommend this place.

    Pierre-Gabriel2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • You can expect a sweet location and a very cool small bar within walking distance from the cottage. The views are beautiful and the hosts were so nice. Very clean comfy space.

    Kristina2020-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • Linda was the most wonderful host who welcomed us with open arms. It really was a home away from home. The personal touches were so special. We felt safe and very welcome. We arrived late evening and Linda still took the time to show us all of the wonderful places on the map to visit. Very pleased with the air B and B and highly recommend.

  • If you‘re are looking for a place to stay on Skye, which is in reach of many great locations and at the same time a very quiet place, you‘re absolutley right. A perfect place for two, very clean, with a well equipped kitchen. The host awaited me at the day of my arrival, to give a short introduction about the location. If I‘ll stay again at the Isle of Skye, this would be my first choice again.

    Norbert2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • We go to Skye 3 times a year. The studio was lovely and comfortable. We like to do out own cooking and everything was to hand to do this. Its lovely spot and we loved sitting at the table by the window looking at the spectacular view that Storm Dennis provided! We had a power outage on the day after our arrival when the Island was hit by a massive electrical storm. Craig was waiting for us when we returned to the studio having been out all day and were not aware of the lightening strike, with candles, torches and a primus stove and kettle and gave us regular updates regarding when the power was likely to be back on. This was the advantage of having the owner close by to look out for us. Had it been a management company we would have been on our own with no idea of what was happening. Would definitely stay again, particularly as a warm welcome was given to our dog Bella with welcome treats, and special towels. Thank you

    Mark2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Tereska and Craig are great hosts. The studio was amazing, very clean and had everything you would like. Also due yo the island being quite remote it was very helpful to get very accurate info before arriving there such as hot to get to the place exactly, shops and cafes nearby etc. Due to the weather being quite bad they were very thoughtful and even brought us candles and a gas hob in case of a power cut. Would totally recommend a stay here. ❤️

    Larisa2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Great place with everything you need for a quiet getaway. Great local knowledge and good tips, lots of thought put into the welcome pack. Amazing views just outside your window and private space for us to let our dog out. We had a great time!

    Andrew2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean and everything you need for a stay in Skye. Lots of information on the surrounding area. Private garden area was great for the dog and location was ideal for our trip.

    Samantha2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful quiet location. Spectacular view. Very well appointed and cosy space. Also a warm welcome from Craig and Tereska. Normally we like to try new places but would definitely stay again. Thanks!

    Gary2020-01-08T00:00:00Z
  • The accommodation was the best equipped self Catering stay we've ever had. Wifi music, fire stick, tv and DVDs for dreary, rainy days -we were lucky to only get one of those! . Every utensil you could need for cooking in house, all very clean and well maintained. Its not huge so don't expect a mansion but perfectly sized for the two of us and our Jack Russell, Pixie who had a whale of a time. Stunning walks here, there and everywhere. Its a long way from us but the drive through the Highlands is beautiful, so not a complaint. New additions on the way of wood burner mainly for effect as heating was cosy enough for us. Also in the pipeline a drying room with washing facilities, an excellent idea. The accommodation was fab, with the surrounding countryside, scenery, wildlife and sheer awe inspiring spectacle that is the Isle of Skye all of these will definitely bring us back to Craighaven and Skye in the future. Highly recommended.

Greyhound Cottage is an ideal base for exploring Skye with many things to see and do close by. It is perfect for couples, families (including dogs) or groups of friends.
Greyhound Cottage is situated on the shore of Loch Harport and has great views down the loch towards the Red Cuilin Hills.
Greyhound cottage is situated on the loch side of Carbost, with splendid sea views. It is two doors along from The Old Inn which is open all year and serves breakfast lunch and dinner along with fine ales. It has music on twice a week in the winter months and more often in the summer. Talisker Distillery just 500m down the road and Skye Spa Therapies is just opposite the cottage and offers beauty and massage treatments. The Cuillin Ridge is just 9 miles away with walks starting from Glenbrittle beach or Sligachin, including The Fairy Pools.
  • Greyhound Cottage is an outstanding place to stay. Well equipped and clean with beautiful views of loch Harport and the mountains . Ideally placed for a peaceful break but with a great inn serving good food next doors. Mary Ann is a friendly and welcoming host.

    Michael2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic allround.

    Beth2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Greyhound cottage is clean and homely - full kitchen and a great shower! Check in and check out were really smooth and hosts were friendly and communicative via Airbnb messaging. Would definitely stay again!

    Rebecca2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely time staying at Mary-Anne and Angus' place. It's a beautiful wee cottage overlooking the water in Carbost, right next to the Old Inn and well located on the island for driving around. Mary-Anne is lovely and will go out of her way to make sure you are comfortable :)

    Danielle2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Easily my favourite Airbnb so far! We were so cosy and comfortable here, the cottage is spacious with big comfy sofas and beds and we slept really well because it's so quiet. Carbost is a great location for seeing the island, and the pub next door is a massive asset - really friendly and great to be able to get a tasty well priced meal after a long day, when most of the other dog friendly places we showed up to hoping to eat were shut with no notice (off season and all that). It was a pleasure meeting Mary-Anne, comms were easy and thoughtful and it was nice knowing she was nearby if we needed anything. We're so glad we chose Greyhound Cottage :)

    Kate2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • We spent 3 days in Carbost on the essential Isle of Skye in the pretty house of Mary Anne and Angus. The view from the cottage is magnificent and the location is perfect on the island: fairly central, about 20 minutes from Portree by car, and close to beautiful walks. Mary Anne and Angus gave us addresses and recommendations for our stay, and remained very available if necessary. I highly recommend !

    Lisa2020-01-23T00:00:00Z
  • Great location for the distillery which is a must do and The Oyster Shed which seafood is fabulous. Shame the local pub was closed but plenty of usual local choice to fill up with naughties to enjoy in the comfort of the cottage and enjoy the views over the lock. Comfy, very clean and warm. Mary-Anne was really friendly and thoughtful bringing over candles and a torch in case of a power cut due to storm Brendan but all was ok. Very welcome break to blow away the stresses of city work. Would stay there again if we go back to Skye. Thanks

    Ing2020-01-15T00:00:00Z
  • Greyhound cottage was lovely, great value for money and everything we needed. Mary-Anne met us on arrival to make sure everything was ok. Beautiful location on the loch in the small village of Carbost and easy to reach where we wanted to go on Skye. I would highly recommend a stay at the cottage.

Peat-cutters Cottage is a traditional, 100-year-old, stone cottage with a larch clad kitchen extension. It is situated in a corner of our garden, surrounded by croft land and 5 minutes drive from the village of Elgol.
Inside there is a cosy sitting room with wood burning stove (some fuel provided) and tv with freesat channels. However, please be aware there is no mobile signal or WiFi in the cottage. The kitchen has an electric oven with gas hob, fridge, freezer, toaster, kettle and cafetière. There is a small double bedroom and bathroom with WC and bath with shower overhead. Peat-cutters cottage has two portable oil filled radiators as well as the wood burning stove which also heats the hot water. There is also an immersion heater for the water when you don’t have the stove on. The village of Elgol has a local shop serving coffees, cake etc, crafts and groceries. Coruisk House (winner of 2019 Taste Local Awards for best restaurant with rooms) is the only place for an evening meal, in the village, and needs to be booked well in advance. Elgol pier is also the place to take boat trips into Loch Coruisk and out to the Small Isles. The nearest supermarket is 13 miles back down the single-track road to Broadford so we suggest that you buy your provisions before you come! Broadford is also where you will find the petrol station, chemist, post office, various local craft and gift shops and a selection of restaurants.
  • Great little spot away from everything. Loved how quiet it was here :)

  • The cottage is an amazing place to stay, on a beautiful part of Skye. The log burner was amazing to come back to, and had been lit for our arrival which was a lovely touch. The cottage is very spacious, with great facilities and a homely feel. The drive to the cottage must be one of the most spectacular in the UK. Thank you for being fabulous hosts :)

  • Amazing cottage very cosy and comfy. The location is perfect if you want to relax and explore Isle of Skye.

  • I don't think I've ever had such an amazing view while drinking my morning cup of tea: the cottage looks out onto the sea and mountains beyond, and there's hardly another house in sight. This is the perfect place to stay on Skye if you're looking for somewhere remote and beautiful where you can spend the whole day either walking or sitting by the fire. Inside the cottage is simple and very comfortable, and Susan has filled it with thoughtful touches like the little lights in the sitting room and peat for the fire so it's cosy enough to enjoy the long winter nights. The disconnection from mobile phones and wifi felt like luxury - the perfect escape from the rest of the world.

  • The peat cutter’s cottage is absolutely charming - we didn’t want to leave! Great communication around check-in, and really appreciated the local tips, cozy fireplace (+ peat!), and beautiful views. Kitchen was well stocked and shower piping hot. Highly recommend if you are passing through!

Cottage directions and key information are emailed approximately 14 days in advance of the arrival date.
  • Spent Late-December and Early-January here. Such an amazing place. The cabin is so cozy and comfortable, the welcomed the days when the weather was too bad to go out as it gave us an excuse to just relax in the cabin. Lots of beautiful walks very close by and the journey round the island is just constant amazing views. Highly recommend!

  • An old cosy comfortable cottage set in beautiful countryside with amazing views. Lots of nice touches: milk, eggs, cheese, biscuits and wine on arrival. Lots of books and games and local info. Perfect away from it all holiday.

  • Wonderful place to get away from it all. Very relaxing and cozy. Had a bit of trouble with our car (the road can be a bit treacherous for tired Yanks) but the locals were very friendly and helped out and we were having such a lovely time in the cottage and walking in Elgol that it was still a great time.

    Bryan2019-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • Small charming house a bit far from everything. Be careful for big interior doors are low. Not really sea view, shame.

    Michel2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay here, perfect place to get away from it all but a nice distance from the quay at elgol for boat trips. The bed was very comfortable and we didn’t go wanting for anything whilst we were there. Courisk house was also a very nice treat and is a stones throw away. A perfect place to stay off the main tourist routes on Skye.

5 Harport is a waterside house on the banks of loch Harport, opposite the Talisker distillery in the beautiful village of Carbost, centrally located on Skye. Tastefully decorated, it has stunning views out over the loch to the Cuillin mountains especially from the decking. There’s a Smart TV with Netflix. Close to local amenities including a small shop and The Old Inn pub which serves food all day and has live traditional music 3 nights a week. 10 minutes to the cuillins and 20 miles to Portree.
As soon as you open the patio doors out on to the large decked area overlooking Loch Harport and the Cuillin Mountains, with handmade drift wood and whisky barrel table, you'll know you've booked the right place! Relax on our large comfortable sofa in front of the log burning stove and watch some Netflix on the smart tv. Or just turn it off and enjoy the views out over the loch.
Carbost is a small village famous for the Talisker distillery. It has stunning views, a nice coffee shop and village shop. The Old Inn pub a few doors down is the probably the best pub in Scotland(we think) with live traditional music 3 nights a week, great beer and great whisky!
  • Beautiful spot on the water, super views, fantastic house with every amenity .

These are what to expect when you book Tom and Lynsey’s place for a staycation. Their cottage is located at a walking distance to a grocery shop and proximal to the main tourist attractions. Definitely a place to stay when you’re in Skye!

  • A great place for kids, they had lots of toys to play with which is a very thoughtful touch! Loved being right on the water and centrally located, everything we wanted was just a short drive away! Lynsey also sent some helpful tips about local music and events for the kids. Thanks for being great hosts!

  • Wonder stay with Debbie. Has some initial trouble getting in (quickly sorted with all from a neighbor). The views, feel and comfort of the cottage cannot be overstated. It was fantastic! Very family friendly as well, with cot, high chair, and nice tub for the kids. It's a wonderful homey feel with wood stove, books, and a great kitchen. We absolutely loved it. The seclusion and drive was a plus in our books. A+++

  • This is truly an incredible place to stay! The most fantastic views, cosy fire and comfortable beds. After a long day of sightseeing this beautiful part of the world, there was nothing better than coming back and snuggling up by the fire with a book and a glass of something! The views of the sea are just outstanding, it's a place you go to and instantly relax. Deborah was so helpful and kind during our stay. We can't recommend her beautiful place enough. We will definitely be back! Thanks again.

    Lucie2019-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • There really aren’t words to fully describe how incredible this place is. The location in Elgol is a secluded treasure next to mountain and sea. The house was very spacious, clean and had everything we needed and more for our group of six friends. We shared so many special moments in the house and in the outdoor areas surrounding. Our first morning we awoke to the most amazing sunrise and a double rainbow right in front of the house!! We didn’t want to leave and look forward to staying here again next time we visit.

    Lisa2019-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • This place is nothing short of outstanding. We absolutely loved it. The house was comfortable and spacious and decorated with very beautiful local artwork. The kitchen had everything we needed, and is situated with views of the sea and mountains in every direction. The house is solid, functional, beautiful and is obviously well-loved by the families who own it. It is personal, but you don't feel like you're intruding in anyone's place. The views were stunning. We took several walks near the cottage, and took a boat tour into the Cuillin Mtns. and loved it all. Being on this side of Skye was wonderful because it was off the beaten track, but as pretty as can be. I wish we were still there! Deborah was very accessible. We highly recommend this cottage. Certainly there are other places that are nice, but I can't imagine why anyone would look further than here; it is perfect!

A renovated simply furnished property in a sheltered location on the outskirts of the isolated village of Elgol. Suits four adults or a family with children more than eight years old. Wonderful views of The Cuillins and islands from near the property. No mobile phone signal. There is a large front garden for guests to use and a shed for bikes, boots and clothes drying. There are relaxed coastal walks and more challenging mountain routes.
Elgol is a small village with a shop and café open in the summer only. It has a pier from which boat trips go out to Loch Coruisk and the Small Isles. Wildlife seen from the boats or shore includes seals, puffins, eagles and sometimes minke whales. The Black Cuillin Ridge and Rum can be reached by boat for walking, scrambling or serious climbing.
  • I stayed at Margaret's Airbnb for 5 nights and had such a nice stay. The area if Elgol is stunning, for the size of the property and location this was a great deal. Check in was easy as Margaret gave very thorough directions, will definitely be going back!

  • This unit is great, and well-appointed for a couple or small family. The kitchen is perfect for cooking meals, and the wood-burning stove (with plenty of provided wood) was a nice touch every night. It’s located a short drive from Talisker, but the drive from the main roads to the cottage is breathtaking, as are the views of the water from the bedroom windows. We drove all over Scotland and the outer Hebrides, and this is one of the best areas we experienced anywhere. We’d highly recommend staying here. Also, lots of cute sheep and some cattle are outside the window for viewing as well.

  • My wife and I loved this cottage. We are both in very busy jobs, coupled with a bereavement last week of my grandmother, we really needed to get away from it all and relax. Shepherds cottage was perfect for that, we were incredibly sad to leave. Caora Dhubh coffee company in Carbost is an absolute must if you like your real coffee! The local shop in the town is grand for essentials too. We explored the fairy pools, coral beach and other amazing places. We will be back some day!

    Scotty2019-07-03T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage in the style of a croft was charming but also modernised with a wood burner, central heating and such thick walls it was toasty warm. the kitchen was well equipped because it is a few miles drive to the nearest restaurant so cooking is required. The location is superb. Beautiful views, quiet with only 4/6 dwellings within a mile. We were given some local walks and the Glenbrittle 8 mile is a must on a bright day. We couldn’t have asked for more during our stay in Skye. PS the Skye Museum of the Island is a must if you want to understand more of the history and culture on the island.

  • Everything was just great! Great place, everything was there what you need. Everything was clean and tidy. The cottage is a great place to relax and have a good time with the family. Our little daughter was totally happy and in love with the many sheep and lambs. We have made many walks and observed animals. It was really nice! Sitting in front of the fireplace in the evening, reading and just enjoying the peace ... great !!! Thank you for the great time.

  • Beautiful house, great location, incredible views from a very comfortable sunroom! Large modern kitchen very well outfitted. Dishwasher, clothes washer and dryer, meant less time working and more time exploring Skye. More than enough room for just the three of us, so bring friends with you to share the views with! An easy “Top 5” airbnb stay for us.

  • We had a delightful time in this beautiful home despite the crazy wild weather. We loved watching crashing waves from the sun room, cozying up by the fire, and hiking in the area. What a wonderful corner of the world. Hope to return to Skye and this house again!

  • House very spacious and pleasant, including the veranda overlooking the loch and sunset. Ideally located if you are looking for authenticity and calm, while remaining at a reasonable distance from most sites to see (walks, castles ...). Our hosts gave us a warm welcome. Thanks to Phil and Joan!

Newly refurbished room attached to our family home. Provides bright and clean accommodation for two people in a beautiful part of the Isle of Skye. We are a working family but will always be available to contact during working hours, with a key box you can come and go as you please! Our community is lovely with local pubs serving top quality food. Talisker Distillery is only 10 Minutes away along with beauiful beaches and walks.
The township of Fiscavaig is quite possibly one of the best on Skye! With beautiful beaches and walks it provides everything you need! We are within 10 minutes of Talisker Distillery and the village of Carbost which provides a lovely coffee shop, post office, pub, doctors surgery and a local shop for any wee bits and bobs you may need! We are also within reach of Glenbrittle beach, The Fairy Pools and Talisker Beach. Within a 40 minute drive you can also reach Portree, with the larger amenities, and Dunvegan which has the castle, gardens and beaches!
  • It appears that Sharon did not receive a notification for our arrival which is why we found the accommodation uncleaned. However Sharon was super reactive and offered to clean the apartment during our visit to the pub located 10 minutes away. In addition, she gave us a free night to be forgiven for the inconvenience. Sharon is a very attentive host. We recommend this accommodation, the room is cozy and the bed very comfortable.

  • Driving down to Sharon's place is a beautiful drive. It's away from any traffic and is really relaxing!

    Omar2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our time at Sharon’s place. Great location on the Isle of Skye within short driving distance to the main road. The apartment is super cozy and warm with so many thoughtful touches (even fresh flowers). We just felt like home and would definitely stay there again. Highly recommend!

    Sarah2019-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • We made a very late booking and arrived at the end of the check-in time, however Sharon was nothing but warm and welcoming on our arrival. The room was large, had a great comfortable bed, a fabulous en-suite and was warm and clean with thoughtful touches to make our stay even easier. If we make the long trip out from Australia in the future, we would definitely stay with Sharon again :)

    Leisa2019-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • Sharon is delightful host and the room is beautiful and very comfortable! My only recommendation would be to bring along some fruit, spreads and bread for breakfast. We overslept each day and missed breakfast at the only cafe in town.

    Kerrie2019-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • Very cozy room where we like to rest after a nice walk on this beautiful island. Everything is there. A haven of peace ..

  • We really liked our stay here. We stayed two nights. It was a nice location, there area is beautiful. The bed is good, nice shower as well. And very clean. Donald and Sam were very kind. We also really liked the breakfast items. It is also nice to have your own place with own entrance. In the pictures it seemed maybe low but even with my tall husband (1.93m) it was perfectly fine. It is langer than it appeared on the pictures.

Carbost Holiday Apartments are situated in beautiful, rural, surroundings with stunning, elevated views across Loch Harport. The property is newly renovated throughout and should have everything you need to have a fantastic stay on Skye. You will have access to the entire apartment, a decked area and a private garden.
In each apartment there is an open plan living room that is light and spacious. There is an ‘Oyster’ armchair, a double sofa bed with removable arms, coffee table, side tables, double French doors with blackout curtains leading out to the decked area/garden and a 40” Smart TV with FreeSat. The apartments feature lots of original photographs, taken around Carbost and interesting artwork. On the other side of the living room there is a fully-equipped kitchen for self-catering. There is lots of space for your groceries including two large storage cupboards and a single fridge-freezer. There is a breakfast bar for dining with four bright, Tolix stools. In the kitchen there is an oven and grill, 2 ring hob/stove, all crockery and cutlery, pots & pans, toaster, kettle, microwave oven, sink and a dual recycling/waste bin. Dish cloths, cleaning materials and kitchen paper are supplied. There is a double bedroom that is tastefully designed and has a large Isle of Skye wall hanging above the bed, created by myself. There is room to store suitcases under the bed and bedside drawers with a lamp on each side, a cactus strip light and an alarm clock. On the wall is a full length mirror and stool for getting ready. There is a wall locker on each side of the bed for your personal possessions and a roller blackout blind. There are 8 sockets in the bedroom including an extra 4 USB ports. Just off the bedroom, there is an ensuite bathroom behind a hidden, pocket door. There is a large rainfall shower with a separate shower head. Finished off with a modern sink and toilet, it’s the coolest room in the house! There is a Bluetooth, LED bathroom mirror with shaver point that you can pair your phone with and listen to your music whilst in the shower. Hand wash, toilet paper, cotton buds/pads, bath towels, hand towels, bath mats and face cloths are provided.
Carbost village is situated on the west coast of Skye, fairly central on the island. It is home to the world-famous, Talisker Distillery. (Where my husband just so happens to make Talisker Whisky..) Tours of the distillery are available throughout the day. There is an informative visitor centre and a shop to take home some goodies! The Cuillin mountain range being on the doorstep attracts a lot of hill-walkers, climbers and adventurers to the area. The Fairy Pools, Talisker Bay and Glenbrittle Beach are all within a 10/15 minute drive- these prove hugely popular with visitors all year round and are definitely worth seeing. The Old Inn is a great local pub 5 minutes walk away, with delicious food (served until 9pm) and a fabulous selection of local beer/ales/whisky. They host traditional, live, Scottish music sessions Wed-Fri which are a must-see for any music lover. If you want to go slightly further up the peninsula to Portnalong (3 miles), you’ll find the gem that is the Taigh Ailean Hotel and the Munro’s Bar. The food here is exceptional and we can highly recommend visiting here for a good time and top hospitality. You can buy fresh seafood (cooked and ready to take-away) at the Oyster Shed which you can see across the hillside from your apartment. This is within walking distance. You can take a boat trip from the pier in the village; self-drive boats or if preferred, a guided tour to see Skye’s abundant wildlife and beauty from the water. Portree is the nearest town at approx 18 miles away, it’s about a 20 minute drive. You will find a supermarket there as well as other amenities. We advise purchasing your food/shopping before you come to Carbost as most places have limited opening hours. Carbost village has a small shop/petrol station for essentials, a Post Office and a Doctor’s Surgery for any emergencies. If you are travelling without a vehicle, there is a local bus service twice a day although please be aware, there is no bus service on a Sunday. We have a new, local Taxi service, Carbost Cars. Tom is a wonderful driver and he’ll look after you and your requirements. Hitching is popular on Skye and islanders are generally very kind at aiding this. If you decide to do this, please be very careful and aware of any risks. There is so much to do on Skye! This is all local information so you can only imagine how much there is on the entire island. It’s best seen over a few days, which is why we have a two night minimum stay. Anything less, you’d be doing yourself and Skye a disservice!
  • Dani's place is great! You would not expect such a stylish place in the middle of a small town in Skye. We spent 3 nights there during our road trip around Scotland. The place has everything you need and Carbost is a great place to stay in Skye. It is a really quiet place and the landscape is amazing. There is a little shop and a pub just 5min walking, and Portree is just 20min away by car. Dani was a really good host also. Definitely would stay there again if I'm back in Skye!

  • Such a well thought out apartment and it’s clear Dani has spent a lot of time thinking about everything. From the minute we arrived and she pointed us in the right direction for the pub (a few minutes walk away), we knew we had chosen the right place! We can’t fault our stay with Dani and definitely recommend her to anyone wanting to explore Skye!

  • The Holiday Apartments are perfect for a short or long stay - so close to everything Skye has to offer. Definitely visit the Old Inn while you’re there - the Haggis is expertly prepared. A trip to Talisker after a wintery walk around the Fairy Pools is also a must do! Definitely would stay here again.

  • Dani is a cheerful person who provided instructions to reach the place well in advance. She greeted us when we arrived and helped us until we settle in our accommodation. Location is bit remote but it is in a beautiful settings in front of a lake. Carbost village is few meters away which has got good restaurants and shops to meet all basic requirements . Apartment was sparkling clean , modern and minimalistic. Bed room was bit small and no luggage space in bedroom .Whereas living room was spacious. Tigh na Talisker is a new, luxuriously equipped, warm, detached, self catering, holiday cottage in Carbost on the Isle of Skye with fantastic views over Loch Harport and the Cuillin. The famous Old Inn pub is just a 5 minutes walk away. The house sleeps 5 and is ideal for families, walkers, whisky enthusiasts, nature lovers, readers, writers, couples, foodies, photographers, philosophers, climbers, romantics, mountain bikers, artists, birders, beachcombers, thinkers and doers.
Our house on the Minginish peninsula was built to a high standard in 2011 and is therefore a very well insulated eco-house. With two spacious doubles and a single bedroom Tigh na Talisker can easily accommodate 2 couples and a child. The oil-fired central heating system keeps the house warm and provides plenty of hot water. To make it really cosy and romantic on those chilly autumn and winter evenings you can light the wood burning stove in the living room. There is private parking for two cars. Tigh na Talisker is in the centre of Skye, so within easy reach of all its attractions and beauty spots. Some of the attractions are within 5 minutes walking of the house in Carbost itself. The Old Inn is a great pub with excellent food, live music on Fridays and jam sessions once a week (so bring your guitar, flute, fiddle, or any other instrument you play.) A couple of minutes further is the world famous Talisker Distillery which, like our house, takes its name from a relatively unknown beauty spot just 10 miles away: Talisker Bay. Just up the hill from the distillery is the Oyster Shed, where you can buy very good local shell fish, other seafood and local products.
Carbost is a small Scottish crofters village on the Isle of Skye with 170 inhabitants. We have a shop, a doctor's surgery, a pub, a filling station, a coffee shop, a delicatessen and a distillery. The views are spectacular and if you are really lucky you might see the Aurora Borarealis (Northern Lights).
  • This place is perfect for a family vacation! We went with three kids (5yrs,3yrs and 1yr) We loved pottering down to the park, walking along the shore collecting shells and popping into the local pub or coffee shop for a drink. It is also an ideal base for seeing the rest of the island as it is very central. The house is very peaceful and architecturally interesting (makes the most of surrounding views!) So we enjoyed chilling in it in the evenings with a glass of local talisker whisky. We will definitely back! Thank you Rudd!

  • We had a fantastic stay in Skye at Ruuds place. The house met all our needs and is situated in an ideal location to explore the whole island. Great sea views as well as views over to the Cuillins. If your looking for a get away to Skye this is the place to go!

  • Communication with Ruud & Di was excellent from the outset. We were grateful for the local tips and the welcome supplies. The location was perfect making it possible to walk to the village attractions such as The Old Inn, Talisker Distillery and The Oyster Shed. It was our first visit to Skye so we toured the Island by car and enjoyed walking the Fairy Pools nearby and Neist Point Lighthouse and the east coast including The Storr. The locals were always friendly and the cuisine excellent. We were blessed with fine weather throughout and even managed a barbecue. Many thanks for a memorable week.

    Steven2019-06-29T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great cottage in a great location on Skye. It was very clean and had everything we required. I would really recommend staying here and look forward to doing so agin myself.

  • Brilliantly situated, we stayed as a party of 4 in this holiday home for a full week. It was an excellent starting off point for all our activities during the week and an excellent home to retire to after a long day on the Cullin ridges. Fully equipped, we couldnt have asked for better. Ruud and Di had provided loads of information and advice for our stay in Skye, and all the personal touches were highly appreciated. We will definitely be returning to Skye in the future and this will be the first place we look at to stay.

Karinya is in a fantastic location for visiting Skye. Out of the hustle of Portree, it sits with a view toward the Red and Black Cullin Hills. There is a sauna for 2 downstairs, a fire in the living room and a well thought out layout with a BBQ outside. Located 15 minutes from the Talkisker distillery and about 20 minutes drive from the Fairy Pools on the main circular road around the north end of the island. Only 2.5 miles from the ever popular Sligachan, which is a central point for embarking on any walk or expedition in the Cullin Hills. Ideal for your exploration of Skye and venturing into the mountains, or indeed to get away from normal life. We are delighted to add Karinya to what we can offer here on Skye.
  • This Skye vacation home is simply spectacular. It is amazingly huge; tons of space for everything you need. And let’s not forget the sauna and fireplace with all wood readily provided!! All top-notch. It has everything one may need. It is also quite luxurious with regards to fluffy and comfortable bedding/beds and bathroom towels. Lastly, we had a somewhat difficult time finding the house because we were traveling at night; however, the Skye team (Ben, in particular) was so patient and helpful to find our way. Thank you so very much for a wonderful time, and I can’t recommend this house enough. As stated before, it’s amazing.

  • We really enjoyed our stay here and felt that it was a great location to all Of Skye’s must see’s

    Jackie2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Very beautiful accommodation, we had an amazing stay in the house! Communication was easy and efficient, and a bottle of wine was waiting for us. The fireplace and sauna warmed us up after a day on Skye. A bit difficult to find but got there eventually, I would totally recommend for anyone willing to stay there!

    Maya2019-12-10T00:00:00Z
  • Gorgeous cottage in a quiet area about 20 mins drive from Portree. We loved waking up to a view of the mountains on a clear day (although in winter, those are hard to come by!). Lovely furnishings, clean and modern bathrooms, and a well-equipped kitchen if you’d like to whip up some meals. And on top of the heating throughout, the fireplace kept us nice and toasty.

    Cherylene2019-12-09T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing property, the house is beautiful and the location is stunning. Within minutes of arrival we wished we had booked for a longer stay.

    Robert2019-12-05T00:00:00Z
  • Honestly, this was just the loveliest property and the nicest AirBnb we've ever stayed in - surrounded by the stunning landscape of Skye. The newbuild design is very open and airy but also cosy - the underfloor heating was great; the whole place was spotless and very well fitted out; beds were super comfy; WiFi good and the communication was fantastic. Sidenote: In case you're interested in Astrophotography, on a clear night, the house is far enough away from light pollution that you can see the band of the milky way quite clearly, right outside the door. Gorgeous. Will absolutely be back.

    Jen2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • What a lovely place! Very beautiful spot on the side of a hill with a nice view of the mountains from the front. It was very clean and the kitchen was well equipped. It’s in a good location in the middle of the Isle of Skye. We loved our stay and wished we stayed for longer

    Carrington2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you so much for our stay at Karinya Cottage. We really enjoyed our trip and felt it was a home away from home, lovely and cosy. It was lovely to come back to the cottage and warm up in the sauna and in front of the fire after a day in the mountains.

  • We stayed at Anne's place on Skye in Sept 2019. She met us on our arrival and made sure everything was good. It was! The unit has lots of space. I especially liked the bedroom - comfy bed and duvet, divan and arm chair, desk with a light, big window and skylight and LOTS of storage space. It was great to have a washer, dishwasher, oven, stove and fridge. We ate breakfast and dinners in, and there was everything available for cooking and eating. Anne was very helpful and kind. We had one small issue with the unit. We let her know and she helped us resolve it right away - no problem! We would definitely recommend Anne's place to anyone staying on Skye because it was right off a main road, fairly central to the island, and yet very quiet. We had an amazing view of the stars at night!

    Chris2019-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • Anne has created a wonderful place to stay while exploring the Isle of Skye. The place is extremely spacious & comfortable for a couple. Having spent the last several days in hotels or B&B’s, it was a welcome sight to find a well-stocked kitchen so we could prepare our own meals. Highly recommended!

    James2019-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • We highly recommend this spacious, clean, lovely accommodation which had everything we could want. We loved the location - so quiet and scenic. Anne was an amazing host.

  • An idyllic and quiet place to unwind with superb amenities not far from the Bog Myrtle Cafe! It feels like a home with its wonderful kitchen and kitchen equipment. The bed is cosy and comfy and a nice modern bathroom tops it all up.

    Mathias2019-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • This home was warm and cozy and the perfect spot to come home to after rainy, beautiful hikes. It is located in a nice central area which makes getting around rather easy. the drive up to the house was amazing so be sure to have your camera ready!

    Briana2019-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice, clean and spacious place. The equipment is great (dish washer and washing machine, 2 couches, TV with DVD player, games, complete kitchen, some snacks, tea). I can definitely recommend it, alsoif you're staying for longer. Isly of Skye is of course great with a lot of stunning places to see nearby. Only thing that was not so great was the Wifi speed, but that seems to be a general problem of the area. We could use mobile data in 4G speed just fine.

    Florian2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay while in Skye! Anne is very responsive and easy to get ahold of. The apartment is very spacious, clean, and has all the amenities you could need.

    Tony2019-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • Anne's cottage is sparkling clean. The kitchen was enormous, with a lovely sitting room and dining table. The bedroom and bathroom were perfectly appointed and we really enjoyed the ability to spread out in Anne's cottage as we had stayed in small hotel rooms for the first part of our trip. The location is secluded but off the main road and easy to find. This is a great location for trips to Talisker Distillery or the Oyster Shed.

The apartment has everything that is needed and the provided folder with all sorts of information and even maps was very useful. Lin and Mike are super friendly and I got additional tips what best to do during my stay on Skye.

  • It was a quiet and nice place to stay with a few minutes to a very good Pub, the Old-Inn and the Talisker Distillery. From there we could reach every place at Skye very easy and managed to see a lot. Before sleeping we enjoyed watching Amazon Prime and in the morning we got a perfect breakfast with some eggs from her own chicken which was very nice! We also had a very warm welcome and would recommend this accommodation to other guests.

  • This place was nice and cosy. Electricity, heater, kettle and toaster provided. There was also thick foam sleeping mattress, so you only need a sleeping bag. Bathroom and toilet were also nice and clean. Frances was friendly and welcoming.

  • Frances is the most kind and gracious host and the wigwams have the most breathtakingly spectacular views to catch the sunset/sunrise. It was so peaceful and quiet. The wigwam offered wonderful warmth and shelter with a two second walk to a great restroom and shower. Wonderful place to stay!

    Allison2019-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • The stay in a cabin at Frances´place was great. The location is quite remote, however that is were we enjoyed the untouched nature of Isle of Skye the most. The cabin was basically equipped and cute and Frances was friendly and the communication with her was easy and smooth. I recommend it!

  • Great location, great accommodation and great hospitality!

  • We had a lovely stay in the wigwam, on the beautiful Isle of Skye. Would definitely recommend if you'd like to step out of your comfort zone for a while but still want something nice and cozy. We were welcomed by Frances and her daughter; they were very kind and helpful (and Scampi -the family's cat is absolutely adorable!! )

There are 8 sockets in the bedroom and an extra 4 USB ports.
  • Fantastic apartment over looking the loch. Spotlessly clean, wonderful host and great amenities with absolutely everything you need. Loved Skye too and with in walking distance to a good pub. Great way to start the New Year!

  • A FANTASTIC place to stay in Skye! Felt authentic and not touristy at all. Skye is changing so much so quickly so if you're looking for an authentic local spot, Dani's place is the place to be. My only regret is that we booked only 2 nights here. Dani's place is chic and cozy, VERY clean and it felt a lot more spacious than we expected! We woke up to gorgeous views, sheep hanging out in the neighborhood (just watch out for sheep sh*t lol), and the best part is that Dani's place is just a 5-minute walk (there's a little shortcut through her backyard) to Talisker Distillery, the local pub which closes at 1am and has fantastic food, a legit coffee shop called Caora Dhubh Coffee (The Black Sheep) - if you're an espresso fan, their blends are excellent and they also have Oatly (I'm a sucker for a good oat flat white!). Back to Dani's place: comfortable bed, stocked kitchen, cable TV, good shower pressure, etc. Bathroom sink is small but we had no problem using the kitchen sink to brush our teeth and wash our faces before bed. Wifi was fast but sometimes a little intermittent at night, but it'd always bounce back after a while so no major issues there :) Highly recommend this place -- if you plan to stay longer than 2 nights, stock up on your way there as the nearest grocery store/market is about 20 minutes out in Portree. We'd stay here again! Wonderful, hospitable and kind hosts!

  • Great space! Modern, clean and creative. The host was very responsive and positive. They had great recommendations and the place was close to all the hiking adventures we were seeking.

    Alyssa2019-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • We have been very comfortable, the views were very cool, very quiet. The food in the pub was very good, 5 minutes from the apartment. We would go again.

    Javier2019-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • The place is just incredible! It's clearly noticed that all amenities were thought with very care. The view in front of the place is just like a postcard. I totally recommend that for as many days as you intend to stay in Skye.
