Retreat to the deck of this sustainable getaway and gaze at the twinkling constellations under a cosy tartan blanket. AirShip 2 is an iconic, insulated aluminum pod designed by Roderick James with views of the Sound of Mull from dragonfly windows. Airship002 is comfortable, quirky and cool. It does not pretend to be a five star hotel. The reviews tell the story.
The kitchen has a toaster, electric kettle, tefal halogen hob, combination oven/microwave. All pots and pans, plates, glasses ,cutlery provided. All you will need to bring is your food. worth stocking up on your way in as Lochaline is the nearest place to shop which is 8 miles away.
The AirShip is situated in a beautiful, secluded position on a four-acre site. Stunning views reach across the Sound of Mull towards Tobermory on the Isle of Mull and out to sea toward Ardnamurchan Point.
  • We have a lovely weekend! Airship is incredible! Everything was so comfortable and clean! We don't wanna leave :)

  • It was such a good experience staying here, such a peaceful place we both absolutely loved it! Would recommend it to anyone

  • Such a unique place to stay in a beautiful wild location. I feel rested and recharged after a peaceful two night stay. Even the weather didn’t spoil our trip as the airship is even more cosy in the wind and rain - there’s nothing like an afternoon in front of a wood burning stove with a glass of wine or two, some good music on the radio, good company and a sleeping dog curled up at your feet. Excellent - definitely recommend.

  • 2nd visit to this truly spectacular accommodation - Airship 002 The perfect destination for a relaxing weekend away from the hustle and bustle of life. We will be back!

  • Wonderful place to relax & enjoy a hidden part of Scotland. Didn’t want to leave!

    Adrienne2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful, magical and unique experience. Very cosy and comfortable with everything you could ever need and so much more! Such a quirky place to stay and a once in a lifetime opportunity to spend time in your very own airship. Amanda is an amazing host. We cannot thank or praise her enough. Communication and welcome were amazing. Would absolutely love to make a return trip. The perfect get a way for couples.

    Gina2020-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • The Airship 002 is everything the photos portray it to be. We happened to stay there a stormy weekend in February and were more than happy to hibernate in such a beautiful place. The windows really make you feel like you’re in the landscape and every aspect of the design works seamlessly. I’d recommend it to anyone and would go back in a heartbeat.

Three reasons to come in winter: + Star filled skies +Quiet winter beaches +Get your gamblers fix playing with weather
Tobermory is a beautiful coastal town well known for its colorful houses overlooking the bay. It has a lot of nice cafes, seafood restaurants and gifts shops. Sea wildlife tours are available from the harbor as well as many boat visits to the island of Staffa, famous for its basalt-formed columns; and to the Treshnish Isles. You can also visit the Tobermory Whisky Distillery in town.
  • Awesome stay. We loved the yurt, it was so cosy. Staying warm next to the fire.

    Yael2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • The yurt is cosy and homely, brilliantly located for Tobermory and exploring the Isle of Mull!

    Jessie2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • What incredible peace! The yurt was beautiful, and cosy warm, even on a snowy night in February. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook dinner and breakfast, and we had a super weekend. Thank you! Also thanks for the tip of a great route to drive to explore the island!

    Sarah2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • The yert was fantastic!!! It has such good character and is very cleann in a fantastic location. It was a quite noisy in the night but we were staying during Storm Dennis. Hosts therefore let us stay in the cottage for our second night which was also incredible! Brilliant hosts and a brilliant experience, would highly recommend

    Sam2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Great find and thoughtful host couldn’t recommend more

    Rowan2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • The location is great just above Tobermory and below a castle. The yurt is super cute, just as pictured, located on a dairy farm. You have a legit shower and bathroom not too far away. The 2 heaters in the yurt aren't drawing enough power, so it will get cold at night. The firewood was damp so we couldn't get a fire roaring. There was a storm outside during our stay, which sounded really cool, and the yurt held up great. Everyone we interacted with was super friendly, and you will likely get to see baby coos

    Chip2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely location! Extremely cozy and fun place to stay, even in the winter. It's a quick drive from Tobermory and everyone at the farm was very helpful and friendly. Highly recommend it!

    Mark2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Great glamping experience, the yurt had almost everything we needed. We went in January and with 2 heaters and a fire going we had no issues with the cold! Great location, only a 5 minute drive into Tobermory. The cheese farm/shop was great too, would love to see the cafe open in the summer.

  • This will be one of our top favourite stays. Catherine Ann was friendly and helpful, was great chatting with her. The pod was cosy, clean and the view is brilliant too, fridge is a great touch as is the kettle. We Loved it from start to finish and so did our dogs! We'll be back 😊

    Karen2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • My second stay here and, again, it was great. The pod is a fantastic space, nice and warm with all you need for a cosy experience including pillows, kettle, tea, coffee and a fridge inside. There is a microwave for cooking with plates and cutlery provided in the utility room of the main house which is very convenient. The constant farm activities and animals wandering around in the adjacent fields is great. The view from the seating area to the front of the pod is spectacular across the hills and the sandy bay in front. Catherine Ann is a great host who will give you all the advice you need and is just nice to chat with. All in all, will definitely be back for a third visit in future and highly recommend a stay.

  • A comfy and well-equipped cabin in a beautiful remote part of western Scotland. Well worth making the journey for the outstanding hospitality and scenery. It was a bonus for us to see five deer crossing the loch in the gloaming - highly recommended!

    Angie2019-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • Great setting, lovely pod, host really friendly and helpful. Great to be able to make a hot drink and get a good sleep.

    Laura2019-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely setting with friendly host! Loved the animals and views.

    Michaela2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Cracking simple accommodation, fantastic views. If you get clear skies at night, fantastic views of the stars no light pollution.

    Euan2019-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely little pod with beautiful views. A few donkeys as a neighbours, and goats and chickens roaming around just outside. Lovely! Catherine Anne was friendly and helpful, and also respected our privacy. Although no shower, clean and private bathroom and it was really handy to have a fridge in the pod, be able to park my car just by the side and running water. We enjoyed spending a few nights here and exploring the local area. Dog and child friendly

This Tobermory self catering holiday cottage is located centrally in the main town on the beautiful Isle of Mull, one of the largest islands of the Scottish Inner Hebrides. The house is situated behind the famous Mishnish buildings on colourful Main Street, set off from the street which leads to the upper part of the town, on the north side of Tobermory Bay. Back Brae Lodge sits by the rock face which surrounds the natural harbour of Tobermory on all sides. There is an outside decked area with table and chairs for your use. Back Brae Lodge is an open-plan residence furnished to a high standard. The spacious L-shaped upper floor combines the living area, dining area, kitchen and extra sleeping space. We've had many guests in the past who were escaping hectic urban life for a while, but not necessarily for a holiday. Whether writing, researching or working professionally in some other way, Back Brae Lodge makes an excellent office-away-from-home for days or weeks of undistracted concentration, with inclusive landline and fast Internet connectivity. There is Wi-Fi Internet access for your laptop, tablet or mobile phone. Bring your own Ethernet cable to plug into the wireless router if you prefer. There is no limit on usage. Tobermory benefits from a superfast fibre broadband connection to the mainland so the current download speed in Back Brae Lodge is around 37Mbps and upload speed is 9Mbps. There is a 40" HD television with Freesat HD satellite live broadcast channels. We also provide Roku On Demand TV with streaming on-demand entertainment services. Free accounts include Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and BBC iPlayer. NOWTV, Sky Store channels and Google Play Movies are also available for an additional charge, or for you to sign in to your own account. There is also a DVD player with a library of movies to choose from. Playing cards & board games on hand include Trivial Pursuit and Scrabble. Artwork in the house is by Shelagh Boyle, Ronnie Leckie, Bryan Evans, Angus Stewart, Claire Heminsley, Alex Bamford and Norman Wilkinson, with historical maps from the National Library of Scotland.
The house is known locally as “the old chocolate shop”, since it was the original home of Tobermory Chocolate. The building was originally a mason's workshop before it was extended into shop premises for Tobermory Chocolate then Music Scotland. It was converted and renovated as residential self-catering. In the heart of Tobermory, Back Brae Lodge offers easy access to the local Co-Op, arts and craft shops, a bank, museum, post office, four public bars, a range of restaurants, an arts centre... Experience everything the town has to offer, on your doorstep. You can get your groceries and most other essentials in the Co-Op supermarket, 2 minutes' walk away on Main Street. Another useful nearby shop is the legendary Brown's hardware store, well known as an "Aladdin's cave"!
  • Really nice house and a good stay in a good location

    Lewis2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Back Brae Lodge was perfect for our visit - a comfortable space for our time exploring the island. The bed was comfy, living room was light and warm, and the kitchen had everything we needed for our 4 nights. We spend most of our days out walking and having a suitable inside space to dry our gear was just what we wanted after some very wet excursions. It's a 5 second walk from the main street in Tobermory, very convenient for the co-op and evening meals. I would definitely recommend Kenny's place!

    Vicky2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • What a fantastic place to stay when in Tobermory! The location surely cannot be bettered - literally twenty yards from the Main Street! I only stayed for a couple of nights so didn't utilise the kitchen but it's well stocked with everything you could want. The double bed and sofa beds are comfortable and the place was warm throughout without even having to look at the radiators. An excellent choice for tv viewing with Freesat, Netflix, Amazon and more! If you book to stay here you won't regret it!

    Peter2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • I would definitely make another trip to Tobermory and have a relaxing time in this wonderful flat. Apart from a full collection of books and films, we found guides for great walks in Mull. Thank you for making our life easy with these suggestions. After long and eye-opening walks, we enjoyed home made food and evenings watching films. I couldn't recommend more to stay at Back Brae Lodge!

    Federico2019-11-28T00:00:00Z
  • This is wonderful place to stay and the location is perfect! Kenny is an amazing host in many ways including by providing so much information on his place, Tobermory, Mull and Iona. I recommend checking out his website in advance. The set up of the place worked really for us as a couple for a 5-night stay. Very comfortable and we loved the set up as well as the view of the cliff rocks out the back. We felt like we were living in Tobermory for a few days, which is just what we wanted. We couldn't recommend this place more and look forward to staying again! Just a note that if you have any scent allergies just let Kenny know in advance so he can accommodate. He wants to ensure everyone has a great stay.

  • The property is in a very central location, its slightly hidden but the instructions to find it were ideal. There is ample parking on the main street that was close to the property so even with 2 children and car seats etc we had no issues. The property was bigger than expected, very clean and well furnished, the sofa beds were high quality and very comfortable. We were supplied with a travel cot too which was a help. There was every type of amenitiy we needed and clear instructions on how to use them. The property is close to the shop and there are lots walks etc nearby. The booking process was simple and the communication was excellent. Absolutely no issues and we hope to return again!

  • Another great stay!! This was our second trip to Back Brae and can’t fault the accommodation at all. Every need is catered for. The lodge is clean, well equipped and you can’t beat the location. Tobermory itself is really peaceful and a great place to relax. We will be staying here again!

The bottle of prosecco was very appreciated too! We’ll definitely recommend to our friends and family and i’m sure we’ll back for another stay

  • Outstanding in every single way. The house is beautifully designed, and the view from the corner is incredible. Check the little book of walks out, and be sure to go explore... Or, sit in, play chess and watch every variation of weather unfold before your eyes over The Sound of Mull. Truly beautiful, incredibly well maintained, luxurious, and hosted impeccably. Definitely go stay here!

    Angela2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great cottage for four friends, or a family. Comfortable, warm, well equipped. We found everything we needed, and Sarah goes out of her way to make you feel welcome. We already loved the area, and it was a huge pleasure to use the cottage as a base to show some friends who were new to the area what a great place to visit Morvern (and Mull) are (even in winter and in the rain!). Top notch.

    Jo2019-12-08T00:00:00Z

Ardnamurchan’s most famous residents are arguably its huge range of wildlife. They’re part of our everyday life and are more easily spotted here on the Peninsula than most other parts of the country – much to the delight of our visitors. With a bit of patience (and perhaps a pair of binoculars or some local expertise) you might make a sighting of golden or sea eagles, buzzards and other raptors. Owls and bats often make an appearance in the long summer evenings too. Red deer are an almost permanent fixture of the landscape, particularly in the morning and evening. During the warmer months the spotted calves accompany their mothers on nocturnal visits to graze in the fields. In the autumn, rutting season, you’re more likely to hear the deer before you see them. Roaring contests and even duels between competing males is common at this time. Fallow and roe deer, foxes, pine martens, badgers and even the elusive wildcat call this area home. And that’s just a few of the land-dwellers. Look to the coast and its surrounding waters and you might find otters, common and grey seals, dolphins, basking sharks and minke whales. Quite the aquarium. These animals, by their very nature, are wild and while we can’t guarantee every visit will include a sighting – our dedication to the conservation and maintenance of the Peninsula’s flora and fauna means that we’re in a great place for giving you the best chance of spotting something.

  • We stayed for a week in this beautifully presented property in Kilchoan. The views are outstanding and the location couldn't be better. Within easy reach of Sanna Bay with one of the best beaches we have been to. The property was a perfect size for our family of 4. The 2 bathrooms with one at front door meant we could shower straight after a visit to beach. Hosts are quick to respond and helpful. Would stay again.

A traditional Highland cottage, Braehouse is nestled into the hillside and overlooks a vista of islands to the north. Recently refurbished its double room is ideal for a romantic retreat for two. Its elevated position is great for spotting wildlife. From the garden you’re likely to see deer in the surrounding parks, sometimes appearing with their spotted young early in the summer mornings..
  • Wonderfully remote cottage, well equipped and cosy. Good location for walking and exploring the peninsula :)

    Alex2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely gorgeous house in a likewise location. Extremely remote as depicted by the miles upon miles of driving down single track roads touching loch shores and hugging mountain passes to reach the place. First time visiting this particular part of Scotland and I'm very glad I went with these hosts that provide a very welcoming and friendly stay, Thanks again Ross

  • Great to get away from being connected to everyone due to no signal or WIFI. Stunning setting, stags gazing every evening, great views all round, warm and comfortable. Lovely bathroom and wood burning stove.

    Grace2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • The accommodation we really liked. A lot of space, clean, tidy, cozy, warm. Also on the equipment is absolutely nothing. The cottage is very lonely and idyllic (about 1km circumference nothing except sheep and cows

    Cornelius2019-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • We spent three days in the cottage, partly as a base for exploring Ardnamurchan and partly as a place to burrow in and relax. We thought it was well-suited for both but especially the latter. The setting is lovely and secluded; there is plenty of space and pretty much everything you need to stay warm, comfortable, etc. We especially appreciated the conservatory for drying and repacking our outdoorsey things after a few days’ trekking. It is less ‘lived in’ feeling than most Airbnb’s we have stayed in, e.g. no cooking oil or shampoo, but the amenities are otherwise top-notch. Highly recommend!

    Jessica2019-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is exactly as described. Exceptionally clean and everything worked well! It’s in an ideal location to explore the peninsula. Unfortunately for us the weather was against us but we still had a great time exploring.

Aandehul is a beautiful architect designed house with spectacular views across the Sound of Mull. It has an open plan living area with a wood-burning stove, two bedrooms and two galleries accessed by spiral staircases.
The house faces due south - with a large deck and open grassy area looking across to the island of Mull. There are extensive views to the east towards Oban and the hills beyond. The kitchen is well equipped with an electric cooker with induction hob and dishwasher, and a utility room with washing machine and drier. One bedroom has a super king size bed and an ensuite bathroom with bath and shower; the second bedroom has two single beds (can be made up as one super king size bed) and an adjacent shower room. Bedding and towels are provided. There is an additional refrigerator and a freezer in an outside barn. The house is well insulated with triple glazed windows and skylights, and under floor heating. There is wireless internet and good mobile reception (especially for O2 and Vodaphone). The house is well located for walking, bird-watching, cycling, fishing, sailing and kayaking. • We travelled as a family of 3 and arrived to find the lodge very welcoming. Could never get tired of the views across the Sound of Mull and whatever the weather we thoroughly enjoyed it. The place was clean and had everything we needed. Ann provided detailed instructions of how to get there and gave us a good heads up of what there was in the area to do. Would highly recommend.

    Izzy2019-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second visit to this place and it was as special as our first. I don't think we'd ever tire of the views, the tranquillity, the space and the home comforts that Ann so thoughtfully provides.

    Alex2019-11-08T00:00:00Z
  • Hi Ann, many thanks for sharing your home with us. Our stay truly was a family holiday to remember and treasure. The cottage is positioned in a stunning and quiet location with the most breath taking views. It felt like home to us and what better retreat at the end of a busy day walking / sight seeing! Especially with the log burner lit and a glass of wine. The bottle of wine on arrival was a welcome touch as well after a long drive. Many thanks Nick, Sue, Harry and Ollie.

  • Superb caravan, in an exceptionally quiet and peaceful setting. Expect views of the river, birdsong, hens and ducks, plus Tioram Castle just around the corner! Highly recommended!!

    John2019-06-05T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely warm welcome, a stunning, relaxing location; so, from the very beginning there is no doubt that this is going to be a memorable holiday. And so it was. A captivating combination of solitude, punctuated by the rhythm of crofting life: the sounds of chickens, ducks and Dexter cattle. The accommodation is cosy and well equipped. There are walks and strolls from the caravan up the river to the shore or across the moss to Kentra bay. Acharacle is close by for everyday essentials and sits quite centrally for visits in different directions. Peaceful: a place to catch your breath. A place you feel reluctant to leave.

Laga Cottage at Laga Bay , Glenborrodale is located on the remote Ardnamurchan peninsula , a beautiful wilderness area on the West coast of the Highlands with access to hills, sea and wildlife. The Cottage is unique with views of the sea and access to Loch Sunart. It is best used by smaller numbers so couples / two or three adults but also for families with younger children . To explore the area fully transport is advisable but the cottage is good to relax in and as a base to walk and cycle.
This is a very pretty old cottage around 100 years old , which has retained many unique features. It is light and airy in summer and cozy with a wood burner for Autumn and Winter nights. It has a cozy sitting room with TV and DVD player, stove with a supply of fuel , 2 bedrooms, kitchen and modern shower room. There is a lovely sea facing sheltered area to sit outside and an enclosed garden to keep dogs and children safe
There are several other homes nearby but the area is generally remote and very quiet. The Salen Jetty shop is a well stocked shop and cafe which you will pass on your way , 4 miles before Laga. It is open 7 days a week. There are excellent places to eat in Acharacle, Strontian , Mingarry and Kilchoan , as well as the Salen Inn which is the closest to Laga. There are also many beautiful beaches to visit on the peninsula , including Sanna , the Singing Sands , Dorlin and Ardtoe beach . There is also easy access to Tobermory on Mull via the affordable hourly Kilchoan Ferry link. You will see Red deer, the resident Pine Martin and the immediate area hosts a Golden Eagle , otter and much more if you observe for long enough . There is an interesting wildlife centre at Glenmore , some 3 miles west , where you can learn about the area and have lunch or coffee. There are boat trips available on both Loch Shiel and Loch Sunart , trips to Staffa to see all kinds of sea and bird life possible In the summer months , catching fish from the pier is a favourite and some of the local estates have trout fishing available . The area is great for walking , cycling, fishing , kayaking , stunning beaches and generally just appreciating rural life .
  • We had a wonderful week away at Laga Cottage. The cottage was spacious and had everything we needed. Mairi and Johnny were excellent hosts and even offered to help us out when we thought our rental car might fall through. The location was great, we went on a number of scenic walks within a short drive and went on day trips to both Mull and Skye. The highlands were beautiful. It was a perfect place for a quiet, relaxing week away. If you're new to driving in Scotland, make sure to read up on the road rules about single track roads. There are a number of these around the cottage, which might be a bit of a surprise initially if you're not used to them.

    Sara2019-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • This is a really fantastic cottage in the most beautiful location - a great place to get away from it all. We saw seals and eagles the fishing was good. The support we received from Mairi & Johnny was superb they went above and beyond nothing Wes too much trouble - it made the holiday for us.

    Mark2019-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • Laga Bay cottage is a beautiful and cozy house to stay in the Ardnamurchan, near the best places of the Peninsula. Mairi and Johnny are helpful and careful. We recomend this holiday.

    Massimo2019-07-19T00:00:00Z
  • A home from home. We were here nearly a week and it seemed too short. Directions and entry with a lockbox were straightforward. The whole place was squeaky clean when we arrived. The bathroom is big and the standalone shower is knockout. Beds are comfy the quiet at night is remarkable. We used the wood burner a couple of nights and it heats the place beautifully- would definitely keep the place toasty in the autumn/winter. The kitchen is well equipped, the hob and oven work great and there was plenty of room in the fridge, freezer and on the counters for storage. We brought groceries with us but you won’t have a problem getting anything you need from the Salen Jetty shop down the road. Being able to walk down to the bay with the dog whenever we wanted was fantastic. We took outings to Sanna, Castle Tioram and Forestry Commission marked walks- all highly recommended. As expected in a rural place, the WiFi doesn’t hold up for long for streaming movies or TV (podcasts and radio was fine) but, in a first for us at an Airbnb, the DVD collection is really good! We managed to get a huge amount of reading done too- the sitting room, porch and lawn are all perfect places for quiet reading. Mairi and Johnny’s communication was great and we were made to feel very welcome. Definitely our favourite holiday Airbnb to date.

  • Have just had the best week ever in Scotland at the beautifully located cottage. We had exceptional weather, blue cloudless skies plus lovely and warm and hardly any midges!!. The cottage is in a great location offering walks right on the doorstep plus access to all the best beaches at Sanna and Singing Sands plus we were also able to get around to the the beatiful beach and dunes at Cul na Croise due to the low tide https://www.wildlochaber.com/ardnamurchan/wildlife/cul-na-croise Would recommend this cottage to anyone!

  • The cottage is comfortable and well equipped in a great location. If you want to lounge around there is a nice sitting area outside where you can enjoy views of the loch below. You might even catch sight of deer passing by. If you enjoy walking up mountains there is one just 50 yards up the road. The cottage is a great base to explore a region which has so much to offer.

Situated on our small croft and to the rear of our house, with stunning views of Ben Resipole. Our caravan is spacious, clean, comfortable and cosy. It has easily adjustable central heating, and a kitchen/dining area with dishwasher. Kentra Bay is just a 5 minute walk and the little, white sandy beaches of Ardtoe, a few minutes by car. An ideal getaway and base for exploring the breathtaking Ardnamurchan Peninsula, Loch Sunart and Moidart. The small village of Acharacle is a 3 mile drive away.
Please note that due to it's rural location, there is no internet in the caravan and little, or no mobile signal on the croft! Depending on your network provider, signal can be picked up just along the road and at various points in the village. However, in an emergency, you can use the phone in our house. We hope that you will enjoy the privacy in and around the caravan. There is a second caravan adjacent which we are refurbishing at present and hope to have ready for Spring/Summer 2020. A selection of games and books are provided for your use. We have 5 chickens and our dog Luna, who all have their own areas to roam, which are separate from the caravan.
Newton is a remote rural community surrounded by beautiful rugged hills, at the top of which, you will find stunning views out to the Atlantic. Cows are farmed in the neighbouring croft and sheep roam the area freely. Sightings of deer are common and there is an abundance of other wildlife in the area. Acharacle has a well stocked shop/post office; tearoom; craft shop, hotel and restaurant.

  • A wonderful place to stay, Jackie is a fabulous host. The caravan is very warm, cosy and very well appointed with fantastic views of the surrounding area. Expect to hear and see wildlife from the windows, the deer were rutting when we visited and you could hear and see the magnificent displays of the stags in the hills as well as seeing grey heron in the surrounding moorland. There are loads of walks that you can do straight from the caravan or just a short drive away and the cafe (Cafe Tioram) and the gift shop (next to the general store) in Acharacle are fab.

  • Great location, lovely accomodation and exceptional host.

    Natalie2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing location. So much on the doorstep to see. The accommodation is spotless and very comfortable. It is a very stylish caravan, with extra personal touches adding to the welcoming feeling. Time has been taken to produce a very informative handbook of local places to visit. There are beautiful walks, beaches, lochs and rivers a short drive away. We would love to go back.

    Chris2019-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • This is a new, spacious static caravan, literally in the middle of nowhere but in the best part of nowhere! It is very well-appointed and Jackie leaves lots of written tips for the area along with a lovely welcoming pack. You will see deer in the nearby fields, have nice walks along the nearby coast, you can use it as a base for exploration by car. The hosts are warm, helpful and unobtrusively there if you need them. There is no wifi or phone coverage (you can get phone cover by walking mins to the beach), but there is a freebox tv providing lots of channels and radio. It is excellent value for money and we were sorry to leave.

    Brian2019-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • I recommend this a place to stay for everyone, absolutely amazing and thorough thoughtfulness with perfect hospitality. They had their own farmed eggs for us, even a cake made to arrival! The place was meticulously clean and spotless. They gave us milk, bread, felt spoilt! No worrying about needing to buy things immediately on arrival. The beds smelt nice, the shower gels smelled nice and the towels were soft and warm. All you need to take is a shampoo and the rest is a wonderful, relaxing experience with stunning sunrises behind the caravan. Thank you very much, Jackie for being the best host! Our whole group was touched.

Cuil provides simplicity and seclusion. An off grid cottage on the shore of Loch Shiel, in Moidart in the Highlands of Scotland, the house sits at the end of a mile long track and is the perfect place to get away from everyday life.
Cuil is very basic, but extremely comfortable. It is very secluded. There is limited electricity from solar panels (enough to charge one laptop per day), the lighting is provided by wall mounted gas lamps. All the heating and hot water comes from the wood-burning stove in the living room/kitchen area. Wood and coal are provided and stored in a dry barn on site. There are also Calor Gas heaters as well if necessary. Water comes directly from a nearby stream. While the water appears coloured it is perfectly safe to drink. The is no shower, but a bathtub and sink. The house sits at the end of a pretty rough, one mile long track. This track is accessible by car, but must be driven slowly and carefully. By 4 wheel drive car or those with a large ground clearance the track to the house is easily accessible. The small garden surrounding the house is fully fenced in, so perfect for those with small children. The house comes equipped with all the necessary kitchen utensils and pots and pans, cutlery, crockery etc. While blankets and duvets are available, we ask guests to bring their own linen (sheets, duvet covers, pillow cases). We also ask guests to bring their own towels. There is a landline telephone in the house for emergencies and mobile reception is available within 100 metres of the house.
Moidart is a stunning area of the highlands, complete with mountains, forest, lakes and coast. There is a beautiful sandy beach at Kentra Bay, a 20 minute drive from the house. Good walks can be had straight out of the door from the house. The nearest village is Acharacle, 5 miles away, that has a well stocked shop, cafes and a pub. Fort William is the nearest big town, an hours drive away.
  • A magic, unique place. Peace, quiet and adventures! We stayed for two nights with our two kids on our way back from the small Isles and had a wonderful time exploring the hills, Loch and beaches... and the bookshelves at Cuil. This is a world away from a standard Airbnb house, but if you are prepared to bring the basics with you and put time into setting it up and closing it down, you'll be richly rewarded. A soul-affirming place in an incredible location.

    Sophia2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • stunning nature. we were cozy with a fire. we enjoyed the books and coffee!

    Martha2019-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful place for a break but be prepared to be self sufficient. We all enjoyed the efficient lighting burner and comfy beds as well as the silence. Paul and our dog loved the swimming. The only real downside for us was the farmers track which used up a lot of fuel in our loaded elderly Ford so although I would book again for longer it would be with other transport.

    Susan2019-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • Exactly as it appears in the pictures. A perfect retreat for a digital detox.

    Andrew2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • This is a very special place of peace and tranquility. Go expecting adventure if it’s your first time. I was nervous about the access as we went in a time of heavy rain, but my Fiesta managed the track fine going slowly. There are instructions to follow for electricity and the fridge etc, but once we’d worked them out we were very comfortable. The setting is stunning and the garden with delicious raspberries is beautiful. Our dog found this, and charging around by the loch, a joy. The cottage had everything we needed for a restful recharging of cooking, reading, eating and watching the rain. I would love to go back for longer and be able to do more walking in the hills. The jigsaw is fun! We loved the photos of the house and mountains in different seasons and reading the experiences of other guests. Sara’s information is fantastic and she’s cares for her guests. Thank you for sharing your special space.

    Jennifer2019-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • This is an ideal location for a get-away-from-it-all stay! A beautiful secluded spot where we could really switch off. The garden was wonderful to sit out and we sampled the many raspberries and black currants that were growing. It was cool enough in the evening for us to light the stove which made the cottage extra cosy. Loved it.

Branault is every inch the original croft house, and the sense of tradition here is strong. The two stone byres adjacent to the house are still in use, and in spring the newborn lambs in the surrounding fields provide plenty of entertainment. The house has a large enclosed garden where children and pets can play safely, and it’s only a short walk to the beautiful white sands of Kilmory beach.
  • Cosy house in an idyllic setting which was perfect for relaxing come rain or shine! Lack of internet/phone reception was bliss :)

    Victoria2019-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed here for two weeks. The house is comfortable and functional. Warm and welcoming to come back to. We brought our own FM radio and didn’t use the tv at all! Spacious beautiful garden. No mobile phone reception but there’s a landline phone in the house which is good in case of emergencies. Amazing view of sunset every night through the bedroom window, overlooking the isle of Muck, I think.

    Lynn2019-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • Branault House is a fantastic place to stay in the most perfect location! Plenty of space inside and out, our dog enjoyed the garden and the house has everything you need. The beds are comfortable and bed linen is good quality, remember to bring a towel though. Early one morning we saw 6 antlered red deer walk right by the garden fence! The beaches nearby are ace and there are delicious currant bushes in the garden. Would love to come back one day!

    Alexandra2019-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • A cosy remote getaway - we loved the peace and quiet and the wild scenery around us. The house was comfortable and warm and a great place to come back to after a day out in the weather!

    Frances2019-06-01T00:00:00Z
  • A fantastically located house in a very peaceful location. We spent a few days here and left feeling totally recharged. The facilities were fine and the house warm. Highly recommended for a wildlife & walking holiday

    Sarah2019-05-19T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Branault in the WiFi-less peace of this incredible landscape. The cottage is very comfortable, warm and well equipped. Kilomory beach is about a 20 min stroll away and the very friendly and well provisioned Kilchoan Store is just a 15 minute drive away. The beautiful beaches at Sanna and the Ardnarmurchan lighthouse are about a 30 minute drive away. We would definitely recommend Branault for a totally relaxing stay away from it all.

    Angela2019-05-04T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful spot. If you like a Tesco on your doorstep and access to the outside world then this place is not for you. That said however, it is a true gem of a find. No Phone signal, however a short walk towards Kilmory and you can pick up 4G. No wifi. The beach is stunning and is about a mile and a half from the house. The closest place to find a shop is Kilchoan (10 min drive) and it is again a lovely spot. From Kilchoan you can get the ferry to Tobermory. The Ferry stores has petrol, a post office and is a great little shop for supplies. Really friendly owners and staff. Very helpful. The scenery is breathtaking. Accommodation was spotless!! Decor is dated but in a warming way and is more than comfortable. Heating was spot on (we didn't have any logs left for us, however weather was good) If you are above 5ft 6 then you may struggle using the shower due to the sloping ceiling, however bath is fine. Kitchen equipment is more than enough... cooker was a bit tempermental. Loads of board games, books and local info (loved the placemats! Very helpful) gorgeous garden, perfect for evening drinks listening to the wild life. The only thing I would suggest to improve would be milk for the tea, coffee and sugar that was left. After a long journey and using the local roads... It was very much needed. We didn't meet the hosts but that suited us. A great spot to detox, unwind and shut off rom the outside world.

    Lou2019-04-20T00:00:00Z
  • This really is a quaint, warm, traditional property set far away from the noise and madness of the modern world. The large double bed was extremely comfortable with lovely fresh bed linen and the size of the main bedroom is large too. It is just so tranquil and peaceful at this property you will feel like your soul has been cleansed after spending a few days here without mobile phone reception or WiFi. To wake up to the song of Chaffinch and Blackbird and the chirps of the sparrows without any other sound is such a rare thing these days. The central heating was very good, we always felt warm and cosy. Be advised that for tall people the shower over the bath is fun due to the sloping ceiling. TV, washing machine and microwave all provided. Already planning a return trip in the autumn :-)

  • Would highly recommend staying here. It's a fabulous location to explore Mull from and a short walk from everything Tobermory has to offer. Sarah was also very helpful in offering tips for our trip and provided a tasty breakfast too.

    Susannah2019-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • Very recently stayed here with my husband for 3 nights and it was perfect for us. The bedroom space is really cosy, has plenty storage space, and included a breakfast table. We loved having our breakfast in the room and having privacy to do so, which isn't something we've had at any other b&b stay. Breakfast is self service and was ideal for us as you can just get on with it whenever you like! Preferred it to the usual b&b breakfast arrangements. Selection of cereals/muesli, toast, yoghurt, orange juice. The room itself is upstairs and separate from the rest of the house, the bathroom is across the landing from the room. There is nothing else up the stairs apart from the room and bathroom, so you have this area all to yourself and it feels very private and like your own space. Sarah was a lovely host. So friendly and warm. She met us at the door and carried stuff up to the room with us and chatted away. You genuinely couldn't ask for a nicer host and she makes you feel so welcome and relaxed in her house. If we returned to Mull we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again and would love if there b&bs like it everywhere.

  • Sarah's place was close to Tobermory and it was pretty quick and easy to walk to the town. She met us and showed us everything we needed and was very welcoming. The house was just as described and also had lots of books and brochures about Mull to help to plan our stay! We'd recommend Sarah's place if you need a place to stay whilst you visit Mull it more specifically Tobermory!

Romantic hideaway for couples, in a truly romantic location, once the resting place of Prince Charles Edward Stuart during the 1745 Jacobite Rebellion.
The Scottish Baronial mansion of Kinlochmoidart House, occupies a marvellous position amidst some of Scotland’s most magnificent West Highland scenery. It has been sensitively formed into three residences; Glenfield, once home to the estates "Glenfield" generator, has been charmingly converted into a spacious, attractively furnished conversion. Glenfield provides the perfect holiday retreat for which this area is blessed at all times of the year.
Just a short walk away from the house lies Loch Moidart, where vast expanses of sand are thrown up by the sea at low tide. At the seaweed end of this beautiful inlet, sit the ancient ruins of 14th century clan Castle Tioram (once the stronghold of the Lord of the Isles), providing a focal point for gloriously scenic views. Between nearby Loch Shiel and Loch Sunart, a trail leads through the Ariundle Oakwoods Nature Reserve – a haven for wildlife – whilst southwards, the coast is punctuated by bays of white sand, excellent for fishing and shell-collecting, or admiring the views over hill, loch and sea. Fort William, the gateway to Ben Nevis, is a scenic drive away, and the Western Isles, Skye and Ardnamurchan are all accessible.
  • What a fairytale location! It was a dream to stay in this beautiful castle.

  • Very nice stay in a confortable caravan

    Pierre2019-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • We are just back from a lovely few nights stay at Eilidh's caravan. Very remote and quiet which was exactly what we were looking for. Made to feel very welcome. Caravan has everything you could need or want (apart from wifi/3g, but we were happy to be away from that for a few days!). The kids loved the chickens, turkeys and ducks!

  • Eilidh and Stuart are wonderful hosts - friendly and helpful. We arrived to a lovely welcome and a tasty home-made cake was sitting on the table waiting for us. The caravan is situated in a really quiet spot just a couple of miles from local shop, cafes and hotels. All in all the perfect place to base yourself for exploring the stunning Ardnamurchan peninsula.

  • Lovely location next to a beautiful loch. Caravan perfect for our needs. Not far from Ben Nevis which we climbed. Cost and warm with the fire on when the rain was pelting outside. Perfect place for 5 of us with our dog. Lovely pub with excellent food 5 mins drive away.

  • We had an absolutely lovely stay at Wilma and Graham’s. The caravan is in a perfect place to walk to the bay and to see stars at night. We were even lucky enough to see three shooting stars! If we are ever travelling in the area again, and I really really hope we are then we will happily stay here again .

  • We spent one night in this caravan and it was such a fun time. It fit 6 adults just fine. We made dinner as the kitchen had everything provided and spent the night playing some cards! The internet hot spot worked perfectly and we were able to book our adventures for the next day! Would definitely recommend.

  • Very nice place in a confortable bungalow, I highly recommand!

    Thibault2019-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lot of trouble finding. There are a lot of red mailboxes and green cabins. You have to turn left at the church and the host would have to give a mileage.

  • The place is amazing and Wilma and her family even better, they helped us with all our needs and made our stay perfect. The caravan is perfect for 6 people, with big living room and bathroom. Really good choice if you need accommodation on the area.

  • Mobile home located in the garden of the owners, at the end of the world (in the good sense of the word!). View of the river and sheep. Mobile home well done, living room with lots of windows so light. Cute private garden, possibility of barbecue (but too windy when we were there). Ideal location to enjoy the surrounding nature and the peninsula.

    Virginie2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Very sceneric view from the caravan. Clean and tidy. We had a comfortable stay at Wilma’s place. Kids too enjoyed a lot. Will definitely recommend Wilma’s place

Scarinish is a modern comfortable detached home in a quiet residential area. Tobermory's iconic multi coloured main street with its many top quality shops, restaurants, pubs and cafes are only only a few minutes walk downhill from the property...
  • Wow! If you want to visit beautiful Mull then look no further. We absolutely loved our stay. The house is immaculate, a real home from home. Paul and Julie move to the basement but you would not know they are there, you really feel able to fully relax (separate entrance etc). The location is superb with a lovely cafe and gallery just a 3 minute walk away, then you have the fab high street a little further down the hill with lovely shops and eateries. There are lovely walks from the house too; across the golf course to the lighthouse, or to Aros Park past the waterfalls. Top tips for Mull; Calgary Bay, LochBuie, Fionnport (book a table at Ninth Wave if you can), a wildlife trip with Mull Charters, a ferry to Ardnamurchan to Sanna Bay - plus lots more too. On rainy days potter around Tobermory or just stay in the house and relax. If you love cooking, then the kitchen is a dream! Hummus from the bakery is awesome and Spice of Mull does a great curry! And before you get the ferry from Oban, pop to the ‘Local Shellfish’ stall/cafe (green sign) at the port - the most amazing seafood and fish you’ll have ever eaten. Will definitely recommend. Thanks so much!

  • We had a fantastic stay here. The house was well presented. It was very spacious and there was plenty of cooking equipment that came in useful. The hosts had the basement flat but that wasn't noticeable. The hosts gave us lots of great tips for places to explore around Mull. Thanks for a lovely stay!

  • A huge thank you to Paul and Julie for a fantastic week. They provided a very well equipped and modern, sparkling clean house. It had everything we needed and wanted. Great location in Tobermory - short walk down the hill to all amenities. Really helpful host who provided good recommendations for trips and eating out. House is also a short walk from the golf course. We loved our week's holiday in Mull and will definitely recommend Paul's house to our friends and family.

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Paul and Julie’s home. It was very peaceful and comfortable. Paul was very prompt in his communication with us. Highly recommended.

  • Paul's home is lovely. I was staying there with my partner and my parents for a week on Mull. Paul was very friendly and happy to answer any questions and offer recommendations of where to go and what to do during our stay. The house itself is beautifully presented, with everything that you'd need for a week away. The beds were very comfy, and the bath was amazing after running the Mull half marathon! I would definitely recommend Paul's home.
