Places to stay in Fife
Sit outside watching the waves with a cosy fire on chilly evenings. Climb the oak library ladder and drift off to sleep to the sound of the sea. Curl up next to the log burner with a good book, or stroll along the beach to spot seabirds and seals.
A welcoming and cosy atmosphere awaits, with a log burning stove, tasteful and comfortable furnishings. The kitchen area is well equipped with 2 burner induction hob, combi microwave oven for baking, cooking and grilling and under counter fridge/freezer. Eat at the dining table which seats four while enjoying the sea view. The comfortable king size bed is on the mezzanine level accessed by a library ladder which conveniently slides away when not in use. There is a spacious shower room with heated towel rail and sliding oak barn door. Fast WiFi, Bluetooth speaker and digital radio included. Outside, the private terrace has comfortable reclining chairs, a dining set, bbq and fire pit and of course the stunning view! The cottage sits in the large garden of the main house which is divided into upper and lower apartments. The lower flat is listed on airbnb as Beach Cottage. Both properties have separate street and beach access and the right side of the garden is for the use of the lower flat while the left is for the Weaver’s Cottage. There is a shared utility shed with washing machine and dryer.
Explore the beaches and coastal path and breathe the fresh, salty air. The adventurous can try the chain walk en route to Elie, or take the coastal path, have lunch at the 19th Hole pub, and get the bus back. Climb Largo Law for some stunning views.
  • This was the cutest wee cottage I’ve ever stayed in will definitely live to come back! Location was amazing just a couple steps down into the beach and cottage felt so homely and spotless! Would highly recommend a wee weekend break here to totally chill out 💕

  • Great cosy cottage

    Ben2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect stay in a lovely cottage. The location couldn't be better. Only real issue was getting up and down the ladder to the bedroom level, but we mastered that fairly soon We visited some local villages such as st monans, Elie and made the trip up to cambo which was lovely.

  • Marks so helpful and friendly and the house is absolutely wonderful! The kitchens excellent for cooking and the location is fantastic. The beds are so comfortable too!

  • Mark is amazing, the house is gorgeous and like new. Highly recommend this place for any golfer coming to St Andrews, excellent access!

    Christopher2019-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • This is a wonderful and comfortable place to stay in St. Andrews. It has everything you may need with convenient parking and a short ride to town. The neighborhood was quiet and peaceful. We were able to get excellent rest after our days of long traveling. I highly recommend staying here!

    Suzanne2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Mark was a great host who came and personally picked us up from Leuchars train station to take us to his house. He gave a short driving tour around the town on the way to the house and pointed certain landmarks and gave recommendations. His house was very modern, spacious and clean. It is approximately a 20 min walk to the town centre. There was also a small gym room which I wasn't aware of so that was a nice bonus.

Restored attractive 2 storey c1900 cottage in the beautiful grounds of Historic Scotland listed Bendameer House. Tastefully decorated, well equipped, comfy beds and quality linen. Use of hot tub with amazing views across Firth of Forth to Edinburgh.
Comfortable, open and flexible space. Lots of outdoor space - huge garden with swings, hot tub, vegetables, hens etc. Decoration - whites with muted blues and beige. Comfortable and cosy with all familiar home comforts. Down-filled duvets, pillows and cushions (allergy sufferers please request alternative). Fire pit, barbecue and outdoor seating- logs provided. Please note that the bathroom is on the ground floor.
Easter Bendameer has stunning views, wonderful light and the sunshine is warm. (Yes, it IS warmer here, for some reason!). There is always shipping or sailing to watch on the water. The small hamlet of houses at Ninelums (also the name of the bus stop!) is approximately half way between Aberdour and Burntisland. The very local history is interesting with limestone mines and quarries being a source of employment and wealth in the past. There is still evidence of the tramway to the harbour which passed behind the cottage. Bendameer House itself was owned by the Ministry of Defence for approx 100 years and in the past hosted grand house and garden parties. After 6 years of use as a boarding house for a school, it has been slowly restored by the Stevens family since 2002. There are historic castles and churches in Aberdour and Burntisland. There are great walks to the Aberdour beaches, art galleries and super gift shops. Special mention goes to The Aberdour Bakery, McTaggarts Cafe and the wonderful deli and post office "Post and Pantry," all in Aberdour. For fish and chips, other takeaway food, a reasonable co-op and a super indoor swimming and wave pool with flumes, Burntisland is excellent.
  • This place is so worth the money. Isolated, picturesque, and calm- perfect for those that need a bit of a getaway to either reconnect with themselves or others. It made our holiday that extra bit special, I would highly recommend to come here, I'd love to some back in summer myself!

    Joti2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely cottage, with great views. In a lovely location, with a short walk along the coast to a nice sandy beach. I would definitely recommend this cottage.

    Laura2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Such a beautiful cottage with everything you need! The fife costal route is bang on the door step. The walk to the station on this route is only 20-30 mins. The train into Edinburgh was regular, £6 return and only 30 mins. The only trouble we had was getting back from the train station after a late dinner so make sure you pre book a taxi! Lovely get away from the city!

    Gemma2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Incredible place with stunning views. Ali was a perfect host and we enjoyed every minute. Couldn’t recommend enough. Ali even put up banners and got balloons for a surprise for my boyfriend. Thank you Ali x

    Amy2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage is situated in the most beautiful location facing the sea. The inside is equally amazing with great decor all round. And it’s very clean. It’s a sizeable family home which was perfect for myself, my wife and little one. Good sized bedrooms. Ali is a great host above all. She was very welcoming and willing to meet our requests in advance of our stay. She gave us very detailed information on how to get to the home. We used a combination of Google Maps and the instructions she gave us and we had no problem whatsoever finding it.

Oh.. I do like to be beside the seaside! If there were Michelin stars for sea views and waking up (or going to sleep!) to the sound of rolling waves, enjoying the breath-taking sunrise across the water on a window seat with a view, then this is the perfect place for you!
A beautiful, cosy and peaceful ex-fisherman’s cottage which has been lovingly transformed over the past year, ideally suited for a range of special occasions. Whether you’re planning an event-packed family holiday, a romantic getaway for two, a recuperation or writer’s retreat, a business stop-off to recharge one’s batteries or perhaps a fishing weekend where you partake in a spot of shore fishing at Dysart Harbour for some brown (sea) trout , cod or maybe even a flounder or two then look no further .. ‘Ruby by the Sea’ cottage offers it all!
A period dated cottage dating back to 1850's with incredible period features inside and tastefully decorated with a fireplace set in the lovely village of Dysart with buildings dating back as old as 1600's. A short walk to the Dysart Harbourmaster café for a light lunch while soaking up the beautiful scenery of the harbour followed by a gentle stroll along the Ravenscraig Park and Castle makes a perfect and fulfilling day!
  • Beautiful views over the Firth of Forth, and easy access to walk along Fife coastal path. Great for dog walking. The cottage is very nicely furnished and toasty warm on chilly days.

    Joanna2020-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • If you are looking for a home from home with everything you need to make your stay comfortable, this is the perfect place. Myself and my dog Lucy spent 7 weeks here and absolutely loved the cottage, Dysart and Ravenscraig Park. Just so much to explore and great if you have a dog to walk. Wonderful sunrises from the cottage and lots of interesting shipping anchored in the Forth. If you need a bike for your stay, get in touch with Greener Kirkcaldy as they loan bikes out for free. Enjoy!

    Trish2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • This is place is very convenient coastal path shopping and train

    Alastair2020-01-15T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay here, very comfortable and cosy. It has everything you could ever need and more. Beautiful sunrises looking out over the sea. everything was great. Thankyou

  • “Ruby By The Sea” cottage is a little gem. Situated a short walk from the Fife Coastal Path in the peaceful village of Dysart, it is a walkers paradise. Arrival and entry into the cottage is a breeze and what a surprise you get when you open the front door and climb the stairs. Quite amazing. The cottage is spotlessly clean and tidy, the kitchen is well stocked with everything we needed and, as a personal touch, the Christmas decorations were up and the Christmas tree lit. A very nice touch indeed. A warm comfy cottage, our stay was most enjoyable and would definitely return.

    Denis2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Nice wee cottage close to the sea in Dysart with on street parking that was always available across our three day stay. Spotlessly clean with some nice homely touches, would definitely recommend.

    Mark2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • A cosy and comfortable home from home in a beautiful location. Great for dog owners but plenty to see and do In the area for everyone. Particularly enjoyed the harbour and park walks.

Tiny House with hot tub included on hillside 4 miles from dunfermline, at the foot of blairadam forest. half an hour from Edinburgh. loads to do in Fife and surrounding area.
  • Brilliant wee lodge nestled amongst trees just outside Dunfermline - has everything you would need and a brilliant, cosy and easy to function hot tub making it that bit better! Everything you would need at your disposal and a contact number that site staff respond to almost immediately should you need anything - we would return in a heartbeat - I seen a few reviews previously sort of knocking the decor and saying it could do with being touched up a bit, to be honest the pictures show you exactly what it looks like and are a brilliant reflection of what to expect so I’m not too sure what those reviewers were looking for! You genuinely cannot fault this wee lodge and we are looking to return again in the summer! Thank you for our stay!

    Allan2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • Me and my fiancee loved it here & the hot tub even though it was a bit chilly outside the heat was brilliant. Would definitely visit again. Cant recommend enough.

    Ewan2020-01-30T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing stay here! It’s as cute and cosy as it looks in the photos! We loved the mezzanine bed and the hot tub! Such a relaxing get away and very reasonably priced! Surrounded by beautiful forests full of wildlife, loads of birds and deer! Great location; close to lovely walks and coffee shops.

    Kathryn2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Great tiny cabin with a great hot tub! We very much enjoyed this little escape for two. Great surrounding towns and still close enough to Edinburgh to drive in for dinner.

    Jason2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place to stay, I went alone for a break from everything and it was just what I needed! Secluded but not so secluded that no one is near you for miles, just out of sight! The house was beautiful, and the window where the bed is was so nice at night, luckily I had clear skies so the view was incredible! The hot tub and all the heating was already on when I got there which was great, looking forward to going back some time!

    Lexie2019-11-29T00:00:00Z
  • Was incredible but the hot tub after 2 days not works any more.

We enjoyed the added extras that Lisa had kindly provided for us including Prosecco on arrival, and a selection of breakfast items. Thank you for making our trip to Scotland a delight x

  • Bill and Anne were perfect hosts, so friendly and helpful. They made our short stay a real home from home. We couldn’t recommend highly enough

    Michael2019-11-13T00:00:00Z
  • A home from home. Anne and Bill are very warm and welcoming hosts. Great stay - very clean accommodation with everything you need. Nice location in Kirkcaldy. Anne gave us lots of tips on the local area which really helped us to find our way about. Would definitely stay again without hesitation.

    Elaine2019-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • This was a private room that was still listed even though I had filtered that out of the search. Air B&B is at fault for that. However, I loved our stay and our helpful and caring hosts! The location is excellent, and we had everything we needed there and more!

    Caleb2019-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • Bill and Anne were by far the friendliest hosts I’ve ever met. Made me feel so welcome and at home from start to finish. They have a beautiful and immaculately clean home. The garden view is very pleasing also. My bed was unbelievably comfy complete with my own bathroom inc shower and tub. Little gifts like water and sweets were left in my room which was a nice touch. While I was working nights they went out for the day so not to wake me and even offered to wake me if I was sleeping late. I agreed to a complimentary hot breakfast before I left on my last day which was fantastic. I was also offered food most days. Really lovely couple and a great experience. Would definitely stay again. Highly recommended for such a reasonable price.

A modern, elegantly furnished and comfortable studio flat in the beautifully historic village of Culross. The accommodation affords the most idyllic views taking in the village roofs and chimneys down the river all the way to the Forth Bridges in the distance. The property benefits from a home gym and mountain bikes for rent. A truly ideal spot in one of Scotland's most picturesque, 17th century villages. Don't take our word for it though - look at our reviews from recent stays!
The main house, The Tanhouse (circa 1750), sits within a large corner plot and the Studio flat is situated at some distance away from the house so guests will have complete seclusion for the duration of their stay. The property benefits from secure parking at the studio flat. The studio itself has an open plan layout which means that it is beautifully light and airy with unbeatable views across the village and the Firth of Forth. The studio has a king size bed and a 2 seater sofa and armchair which are ideal for watching the 32' TV + DVD/CD player. There is also a small selection of films, and games in an attempt to cover all entertainment needs. The kitchen area houses a fridge, dishwasher, micro/grill and a 2 burner hob. A table and chairs is situated at the end of the kitchen with ample room for 2 guests to eat (all crockery and cooking utensils are available). If the weather is nice (Scotland dependent...) there is a private outside seating area for guests which takes in spectacular view across the forth. The usual selection of crockery, pots etc is provided. If you plan on eating out in the evenings we would highly recommend booking at the local pub (The Red Lion)! During the summer there are 4 lovely cafes in town. The shower-room has an electric corner shower, velux window, toilet and hand basin. All linen, soaps, towels etc. will be provided by your hosts. NEW FOR SUMMER 2019. We have 2 mountain bikes that can be hired for minimal daily charge so that guests can explore the area by bike! We also have a full home gym that guests can access. The gym has a running machine, rowing machine, kettle bells and a punch bag which are free to use for guests. A welcome pack is provided with local information, a detailed plan of local walks and a guidebook.
Culross is truly unique place to stay. A village which time has passed by; the most complete example in Scotland today of a Burgh of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. Most famously, in recent years at least, the town has been used as a key filming spot for the famous Outlander television series. A stay in town is an absolute must for fans of the television show which acts as the fictional village of Cranesmuir. There are countless things to do in Fife and the surrounding area. If golf is a must - we are within easy commute of many courses - Glen Eagles and St. Andrews are both within an hour's drive. For motor sport enthusiasts Knockhill Race Circuit is only a short drive away. The Falkirk Wheel and the giant Kelpies are also close by and ensure a unique experience.
  • We enjoyed every minute we stayed here. Everything was clean and beautiful. We were sad to leave. The hosts were wonderful. I recommend staying here and enjoying Culross.

    Stacie2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Great little apartment for two! Sophie’s was a cozy and stylish space, insanely comfortable bed, hot shower, and secure location. There is a beautiful view of the fife, bridges, and cities across the water. The village was lovely as was the Red Lion pub and coastal walking trail. It is also close to the abbey and a pretty lookout over some gardens. Perfect for daytripping into Edinburgh too. Just a sweet little area all around. Despite the winter weather we enjoyed our stay and having a warm, dry place to relax in between adventures! Thank you Sophie and Gavin!

    Laura2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay here, the studio was lovely, clean and spacious. Great location to get to different places in Scotland and lovely views from the studio. Lots of information left by the hosts which was nice.

    Shannon2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Sophie and Gavin's stunning wee studio apartment is in the centre of a picturesque village that will take you back in time to the 17th century. Myself and my husband are just back yesterday from our weekend away for his birthday and we weren't disappointed. The apartment was spotless and had everything we needed for our stay, it is beautifully decorated and the space well utilised. Sophie and Gavin were amazing hosts and very discreet. There is a wee pub a couple of minuteswalk from the apartment, although we didn't eat here, we did join the locals for a few drinks, a lovely and welcoming pub. Would highly recommend this apartment to anyone and we can't wait to make a return visit in the summer.

    Caroline2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a real gem. Set in a beautiful village, Sophie has gone the extra mile to make each of her guests feel welcome. Everything we needed was there and more and the views were extra special. We will definitely come back!

  • Had a great stay here, very easy to find with google maps and well organised on arrival. We were provided with everything we needed for a quiet night away! (including helpful tractor ride to the hut!) We would definitely book again - hopefully with better weather!

  • Fabulous host Jared took us up to the hut via tractor which was an added bonus Just one with nature and the stars were perfect .... shooting stars galore .... despite the freezing chill and wind it was cosy and warm in the hut with the peat burning stove. Away from electricity and Wi-fi and a night under the stars was just what the doctor ordered. We will be back Go check it out

This is a true bed & breakfast location, but there is a grocery store a short distance down the road if there is something extra that you want. • A very enjoyable stay. Alistair has thought of everything you might need. Ideally situated for public transport. Bus stop at top of road taking you to Edinburgh or into Kirkcaldy for train station. Flat highly recommendable.

    Andrew2019-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • We booked Alistair's place as part of a week long mini tour of Scotland to visit National Trust & Scottish Heritage sites. It's well located for many sites and we visited Kellie Castle, Hill of Travit Mansion & Falkland Palace all in one day. We went to Edinburgh on the train from Kirkcaldy, about 40 minutes ride as well so Alistair's place is brilliantly located for many sites. The accomodation it's self is excellent! Spotlessly clean, very comfortable and feels much more spacious than the photos would have you believe. Lots of nice touches with a welcoming hamper of food & drink awaiting us upon arrival. Easy access and brilliant communication before, during and after our stay. The area was very quiet during our stay making for very peaceful night's sleep. All in all a great Air BnB experience. Highly recommended. Thank you Alistair 👍

  • Such a beautiful and picturesque cottage in the heart of Pittenweem. We had a great stay with our 8 month baby and enjoyed family time together in front of the cosy fire and breakfasts in the conservatory watching the sun come up! Thanks for a lovely stay Dawn!

    Laura2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful cottage to stay in. We had a lovely relaxing break and loved sitting by the stove. Everything was pristine and the cottage is in an excellent location from the shops and the harbour. All of the lovely wee touches just made it exceptional!

    James2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage is in a fantastic location for pottering about Pittenweem. It was really cosy (even without the wood burner) but there’s nothing nicer than watching those flames. The conservatory has amazing views and was a lovely spot to enjoy a lazy morning.

    Rosie2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • The property is ideally located and furnished to a very high standard. The decor is warm and welcoming and the kitchen has everything you could want if staying in and cooking. I will be back in the warmer months so I can enjoy the lovely summer house and garden.

    Neil2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • This is one of the most beautiful air b n b properties I’ve ever stayed in. It was so cosy with a wonderful sitting room and the kitchen below which gave two excellent communal areas, not to mention the lovely conservatory with spectacular views. Great bedrooms with comfy beds and luxurious towels for the spa style bath! Dawn was an excellent host, so friendly and thoughtful leaving me a birthday card and bubbly for my birthday. We were so lucky to stay there, the house is wonderful inside and out and also close to the harbour and little shops near by. I’d recommend trying the local chocolate shop for a hot chocolate and head to Antruther for fish and chips or Elie for a pub lunch at the Ship Inn. Thank you Dawn for a wonderful stay x

    Briony2020-01-09T00:00:00Z
  • I loved staying at Dawns, she was a great host and I booked at the very last minute, I loved her place which is exactly like the photos. Dawn is a thoughtful host who left lots of little touches, I especially loved bringing back hot chocolate from the Cocoa Tree cafe a few yards from the house and drinking it in front of the fire.

    Claire2019-12-16T00:00:00Z
  • Dawn's cottage was absolutely perfect. Mangle cottage has clearly been renovated to a very high standard (two lovely bathrooms, a great big bath in one and a rainfall shower in the other) lovely kitchen downstairs even with nespresso coffee! The livingroom was the real heart of the place for my wife and I. It looks fantastic and putting logs on the wood burning stove was exactly what we wanted to hunker down in the cold December weather. Dawn was a fantastic host always keeping us updated when necessary and gave us some great local tips for places to eat and putting us at ease during our stay. Pitenween is a lovely picturesque town, and I think Mangle cottage is the best place you could stay while there. The views of the ocean and the sunrise from the conservatory are amazing. I have already recommended this place to a lot of my friends and family and plan to return in future.

☼Burnside Cottage is a quaint 2 bedroomed cottage located between Anstruther and St Andrews in the East Neuk of Fife. ☼It is close to St Andrews with its many golf courses and is an ideal base for exploring the little fishing villages on the Fife coast.☼ It is in the heart of the beautiful hamlet of Kilrenny and is within walking distance of the beach, shops, pubs and restaurants of Cellardyke and Anstruther.☼ It is newly restored and has an enclosed garden close to the village playpark☺
Burnside Cottage dates from 1750 and has been newly and lovingly restored in Spring 2018 by Dorothy and Andrew Murphy installing new floors throughout, new kitchen and bathroom and completely redcorated. It is situated on the edge of the village in Routine Row which is free of traffic and overlooks the grounds of Invergellie House to the rear with the result that it is a very peaceful location a real antidote to the hurly burly of modern life. It benefits from intelligent central heating, wifi, and a state of the art smart television with access to over 70 channels. There is a brand new log burner in the lounge ideal for cosy romantic winter nights.
Kilrenny is a picturesque hamlet consisting of around 65 houses many of them dating back to the 18th century. It is surrounded by farmland and Burnside Cottage has a clear view across parkland to the local Manor House of Invergellie. A 5 minute walk takes you to the beach and the Fife Coastal Path. A ten minute walk takes you to the shops, restuarants and pubs of Cellardyke and Anstruther. This locality is known as Fifes' Golden Fringe due to its lovely golden beaches. It is also known as The East Neuk of Fife. A short drive along the coast road takes you to the fishing villages of Pittenweem , Crail and St Monans and to the Burgh of Elie where the Hoi Polloi of Edinburgh come to play. St Andrews the home of golf is a 15 minute drive away and although you have to enter a lottery to get a chance to play on the world famous Old Course there are many other high quality courses throughout Fife where it is not difficult to book in advance. In Scotland golf has always been a game for everyone so it is fairly inexpensive to play. Fife has lots of historic places of interest. In the immediate locality there is the Fishermans Museum at Anstruther, Kellie Castle and Gardens, The Secret Bunker and Cambo House famed for its spring flowers. A bit further inland there is Falkland Palace , Hill of Tarvit Mansion and Edinburgh and Stirling Castles are just over an hours drive away. For the more adverturous there are all the usual coastal activities, sea fishing, rock climbing, kayaking, surfing and boat trips to the Isle of May seabird reserve. One thing is for sure, you will not be at a loss for something interesting to do or visit in Fife

  • Beautiful, wee cosy cottage located in a quiet village. Tastefully decorated throughout & spotlessly clean. As we visited in January we were unable to make use of the garden, but I'm sure in summer this is a real bonus. We didn't meet the hosts in person but they were quick to respond to any questions that we had & I would love to stay again. Don't hesitate to book!

  • I enjoyed spending a couple of days here in this quiet and beautiful space near the sea. The proximity to the train station was ideal, communication with Elizabeth was excellent, and the studio itself had everything I needed. Would recommend!

  • Fantastic place, Liz is very friendly dly and accommodating and the building is incredible. We had a fun stay, playing in the beach and hanging out in the apartment. 👍🏼

  • Very unique and amazing space— a real gem on Airbnb! A short walk to the station if you wish to go into Edinburgh and very close to Burntisland and Kirkcaldy for local shops and restaurants. Liz is lovely and easygoing and so welcoming. We really enjoyed our stay and hope to come back again soon. Thank you Liz!

  • The Sealoft is a very spacious place, perfect for a family. The room can be subdivided and furniture moved around to suit. We loved the ambience of the artists’ studio/workshop next door. The views from just outside the building are fantastic, great for a walk by the sea. Liz is a very helpful and welcoming host!

    Jola2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • Nice comfortable loft overlooking the sea

    Mélanie2019-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • The quaint aura of this studio and Elizabeth's hospitality are the most enjoyable aspects of staying here. A local friend of mine and myself are both photographers, and she allowed us to take several portraits within the space and as many environmental shots as we desired. She's open to conversation about her most recent projects and offers advice to those who have specific artistic pursuits. Even if you aren't an artist, the bedroom is vastly spacious, the main door isn't disruptive to enter and exit at late hours, transit is easy next to the Kinghorn station, the views of the coast are incredible, and the rain shower felt great. I had several pre-planned excursions during my stay and I wish I had planned less, purely to spend more time dwelling in the space and being present in such a nice environment. I would love to return!

    Jessica2019-12-05T00:00:00Z
  • Stylish different accommodation. Fabulous location by sea, centre of town and by train station. Will return!

    Lyndsey2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Be prepared to be wowed by the stunning space that has been created - what a privilege to be able to stay there. It is very much a working building - Liz's home and studio space , and shared with the residents artists. It is therefore scattered with the equipment, materials, artefacts and useful clutter that go with such a building . This might not be to everyone's taste, but I loved it. The kitchen area is well equipped and in a corner of the studio - so inclined to be chilly if it is cold outside. The steps to bathroom and living room/bedroom and the flooring patterns give an insight into the original cinema use of the building and the original foyer is used for art storage. A door leads into the air bnb room - where the clean white space continues. Room layout is up to guests - it is a long rectangular room with panoramic windows looking into the studio. There are blinds on all the windows. There is an optional foldout dividing wall to separate living and sleeping areas or you can keep it open plan . The room is well heated (we stayed in icy November and the room was cosy) furniture and fittings are modern , and interesting designs. It's a completely unique space , verging on industrial and not for you if you want carpets and frilly sofas, but exciting to be part of . As an artist and a birder it suited us down to the ground . Sadly we could only stay for two nights but hope to return. The views across Firth of Forth are stunning . We walked the Fife coastal path to Kirkcaldy and came back on the bus and also visited the eco centre at Kinghorn Loch. We ate at the Ship Inn in Kinghorn one night (very good) and cooked for ourselves the other - there are also a couple of takeaways in the town . Can't wait to come back

Sunny, peaceful flat with views to the sea and Edinburgh. In a conservation building in the heart of Aberdour village - 5 mins walk to award-winning beach and 2 mins to station - 30 mins to centre Edinburgh; 45 mins to Edinburgh airport by bus/train. Superfast broadband (WiFi). Free parking close by.
The flat is very peaceful and sunny with a pleasant outlook over mature gardens and out to sea, and the Edinburgh skyline. It is on the top floor of an old building from the 18th c. and is easily accessed from the main door on the High Street. NB there is a flight of stone stairs leading to the flat so this may not be suitable for people with mobility problems. The bedroom is small but cozy and has a Velux window, chest of drawers and walk-in wardrobe/cupboard, with storage for luggage, clothes etc. There is a small hallway, leading to an open plan sitting room and kitchen. The kitchen has a washing machine and fridge freezer and an electric hob cooker and oven, microwave oven, as well as a range of self-catering equipment. NB there is no dishwasher. The sitting room has a writing desk overlooking the gardens, towards the sea. There is a small two seater sofa and a leather club chair, bookcase with various board games and local information, coffee table and a small (24 inches) Samsung Smart HD TV (Amazon Prime etc) and a DVD player. I keep my own collection of DVDs in the flat which guests are welcome to borrow. (I also keep a spare set of golf clubs for guests to use- Aberdour golf club is a high quality 18 hole parkland course and the first tee is five minutes walk from the flat.) Hot water is provided by a traditional boiler in a cupboard off the sitting room, though there is an electric shower (instant). The bathroom has a small bath, with an over bath shower. NB the bathroom suite is a bit dated aesthetically (see photos). There is quite a large garden, most of which is shared, including a drying green (clothes line and pegs). There is ample space to leave bikes securely either in the garden or in the passage way. Parking - there is a large, overnight public car park at the station which is about 100 metres from the flat. You can also often find spaces on the street immediately outside the flat.
I lived in Aberdour full time, when I commuted into Edinburgh. I now visit it for breaks. It is a beautiful and historic village, with a special atmosphere. What I love most are the many walks, along the coast and up in the surrounding hills and woods. There are two outstanding beaches and an old mediaeval harbour, as well as a (mostly) ruined Renaissance castle in the centre of the village (used as a TV and film location, including Outlander!) There are excellent local amenities, including a village post office and delicatessen in the same building, a pharmacy immediately opposite, several small shops and a bakery and coffee shop/delicatessen. There are four pubs/hotel bars, which also serve food and there is an excellent fish restaurant close to the harbour (‘A Room With a View’). There are tennis courts and a well-maintained 18 hole parkland golf course about 5 minutes walk from the flat. As well as the beaches, there is a large park with a very high quality play park for children, about 100 metres away. It is very convenient to use as a base for exploring Fife, Edinburgh or further afield, with excellent transport links (the train station is two minutes walk).

  • Lovely little flat with great views and a central location within an idilic wee village

    Marc2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Sam's place is very cosy and clean, with a beautiful view from the desk in the living room out to the sea. The kitchen is well-stocked with anything you might need for cooking, and Sam provided things like towels and shower gel as well. I spent four nights there on a self-imposed writing retreat for my PhD thesis and found it a very productive and relaxing environment — & plenty warm enough in January as long as I popped the electric fireplace/stove on every now & again. Location is perfect for beach walks / exploring the town / exploring the rest of Fife. Highly recommend the fancy deli/post office under the flat and the bakery just along the road as well.

I hope you will love my little cottage as much as I do. The cottage has been recently renovated and is full of quirky touches, the latest being my wine box stair case. I am sure you will enjoy the opulent black roll top bath but there is also a lovely rain head shower too. My place is close to family-friendly activities and great walks. The beds are super comfy and the place is warm and cosy! A good base for couples, solo adventurers, and business travellers.
The house was built in 1760 and albeit it has been altered over the years I think it has maintained a rustic charm and inviting atmosphere. The cottage has a great wood burning stove which guests are welcome to enjoy so would suggest you put logs and kindling on your shopping list. There is also a super range cooker so if you are a bit of a whizz in the kitchen I am sure you will appreciate it. You will notice little nods to Alice in Wonderland all over Wonderland Cottage but particularly in the Alice Room and the newest addition which is a fantastic stair rail made by our local Newburgh Blacksmith. We can also accommodate extra guests in our Bell tent.
Newburgh has the first documented evidence of whisky making in Scotland, come and find out about its fascinating history at Lindores Distillery. You can book tours and at the weekends enjoy a drink in the fantastic Legacy bar overlooking the old Abbey ruins. If you are around on a Tuesday evening why not go along to the Bear Tavern and get involved in the very welcoming local singalong. Don't forget we offer Gourment dining at Wonderland but there are a couple of cafes in Newburgh for lunch time snacks and Perth and St Andrews have some great restaurants. Newburgh also boasts the gate to the Fife coastal path and offers fantastic walks and scenery with the river Tay only a 5 minute walk away.
  • Wonderland cottage is so much more than the pictures and description give. The whole experience was made even better by taking Stella up on the chance to have a private dining experience in le petit chapeaux. Stella is a wonderful host and chef.

    Lisa2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Don't miss out on this beautiful quirky wee cottage amazing host that goes above and beyond!(shouldn't say how good it is because won't be able to get any more bookings lol) fantastic can't rave enough about it can't wait to go back xx

    Clare2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderland is a beautiful, quirky cottage where you will be able to rest, relax, and escape from the world. We were there for a self-imposed writing retreat, and it was absolutely perfect. Although it is in a very small village, there is a co-op, a pub, a bank and a take away less than 5mins walk from the cottage, so you will have everything you need.

    Deborah2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • Stella is a phenomenal host, definitely take her up on the offer of dinner in her private restaurant, you’ll be spoiled rotten. The cottage is bursting with character and is perfect for a cosy getaway, right by the Fife coastal path.

    Emily2020-01-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing time staying at Stella's place. Beautiful, cosy, unique, quirky home, warm with everything you need. Good location for exploring places out with the town, great value for money and fantastic communication. Cannot fault, highly recommended!!

    Halde2020-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderland is a magical place, booking and communication with Stella was excellent, even when we wanted to add an additional few nights. We both felt the magic as soon as we arrived and it brought us back to childhood memories of play, fun and adventure. We arrived with fresh fruit, cereals, milk, bread and even the surprise of Tunnocks tea cakes! Stella cooked us an amazing 4-course meal during our stay and we had to walk it off the next day along the beautiful and scenic Fife coastal path. We look forward to visiting again. Stella had everything prepared to give us a warm and pleasant welcome: fully heated cottage, attentive decor and sufficient provisions so that we only have to land in our wonderful house and enjoy our stay ... Our hostess gave of herself to create this haven of well-being and you can feel it: you immediately imbibe this strength, the joy and the serenity that emanate from it. This is also what the village of Newburgh has to offer, with all the amenities we needed: transportation and store; what made us want: artistic inspiration and hikes; and the icing on the cake: pleasant and friendly inhabitants and a (micro?!) mild climate without lack of character, a rarity in the heart of winter. We have adored! The instant thunderbolt did not go unnoticed when we discovered the magical garden that Stella the beautiful has landscaped, with the same candor and power that the cottage exudes. Because we had opted for a dinner at the Petit Chapeau, the little veranda reserved for the cottage, our hostess, pro chef, amazed us by combining her gift as a decorator with her sensual culinary talents ... of a stone statue before attacking the delicious dishes! In short: we will return, we will see Stella again. Thank you, Stella, for all that you have given us. <3 Dave & Nat

    Michelle2019-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderland is a cottage full of quirkiness and special touches. We were really touched by the arrival package of foods, milk and cereals. You could arrive really late at Wonderland and manage to get by until you can get to a shop. We loved the place.

Unusual bright little house, cosy and comfortable, near historic city of Dunfermline. Ideal location to explore the beautiful Kingdom of Fife, home of golf. Just 20m from Edinburgh and the Festivals with good transport links to the rest of Scotland.
The Wee Hauf offers you a modern open-plan living space with sofa-bed, showerroom, and one bedroom opening directly onto a sun-trap patio and secluded private garden. Lie in bed and listen to the birds sing!
This is an ideal location from which you can explore the many attractions of the ancient Kingdom of Fife, from the golfing heritage of the Auld Course at St. Andrews, to the art gallery in Kirkcaldy, hometown of Jack Vettriano. There's a convenience store in the village and with retail and leisure parks nearby, you don't have far to go to shop, eat out, see a film or go bowling. There are plenty of local events, theatre and arts, sporting activity and motor racing at the Racewall and Knockhill to enjoy. More than lots of things to do, there's plenty of peace and quiet, so you can relax in Fife's beautiful countryside and coastline, including the Lomond Hills and Aberdour's Silver Sand beach. Just 20min from Edinburgh, the Wee Hauf is a short hop to the buzz of Edinburgh, for Hogmany or the world renown Festivals, as well as providing a great base to get out and explore Scotland. In under an hour, you can be in Perth, gateway to the Highlands, visit the C.R.Mackintosh designed tearooms in Glasgow, or relax in Peebles, amongst rolling Borders hills and salmon rivers. We like living here, come and see why!

  • Well located for access to motorway and public transport hub. Parking is on street - which is busy at rush hour and school pick up time, but quiet otherwise. Access to shops and cinema nearby via car or bus. The accommodation is roomy for two, good amenities and immaculate. Not much to do in the actual village but plenty of attractions nearby. Lovely host who responds quickly to enquires. There’s a nice little garden to the rear which must be a sun trap in summer months.

    Ken2019-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice place cozy and tidy, really beautifull house with all the comforts. The only problem for us was the distance because of the holidays and bad bus transportation. The bus station is close to the house

    Dimitris2019-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • A great place to stay. Central to Fife && Stirling plus within easy distance from Edinburgh. A cosy home to return to each evening.

    Lorraine2018-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Wee Hauf is ideal for couples with or without pets, it is clean, tidy, spacious. It has everything just like your own home, the closed in garden at rear of property was excellent for our dogs. The cottage is in ideal location, not far from Lochore Country Park, which is wonderful for walking. There is lots of local amenities within walking distance. We highly recommend this as a holiday home and we will definitely be using it frequently.

XXXX Covid update XXXXX - our cabin is totally separate from other buildings. We are providing additional cleaning products to give extra comfort. It is only available to key workers who need accommodation supporting the response effort. Stay home. Protect the NHS. Save lives. It can sleep 5 adults comfortably. Its set within a small 3 acre estate and has plenty of parking. All modern conveniences (microwave, fridge, dishwasher, oven) but unfortunately no TV, or WIFI due to rural location.
The log cabin is very unique, its a mix of antique wood, with a historically significant painted ceiling, huge fireplace and log burner. Big kitchen dining area, and a recently renovated bedroom. The log cabin benefits from being fully modernised, microwave, dishwasher, double oven, fridge freezer. Upstairs is one big bedroom with three beds and is very warm!
We are on the Fife coastal route, and we have the most amazing farming community. The buffalo farm is close by and you can see the water buffalo from the house. Puddledub Pork are also within the village, so we are blessed with local suppliers that have genuine quality produce.
  • Michaels place is just stunning. Lovely touches, warm and cosy and so peaceful. We loved curling up around the fire playing scrabble. Also took a day trip in the car to Burntisland which was lovely and super close. Absolutely delightful stay and will defo be back.

  • A beautiful place, we had a fantastic weekend. Michael was great, couldn't do enough to help us out. Photos don't do the cabin justice, it a lot bigger in person!

    Chloe2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic place to stay. We had a lovely relaxing time away so chilled out and didn’t want to go home! Can see why so many have returned visits. Bring extra fire wood as it really adds to the visit having the fire on the go the whole evening and the stove is very large - we underestimated how much we would need.

    Tanya2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • This was my second time returning to the log cabin. Michael was a fantastic host as ever. We were welcomed with care which went over and beyond our expectations. The cabin is perfect for a peaceful retreat; the decor is full of character, the amenities are great and it is a hidden gem where you truly feel at home. Highly recommend and will hopefully be returning, many times more. Thanks again to Michael.

    Anthony2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • The log cabin was immaculate in every way. Michael was extremely helpful and added some lovely touches to make our stay perfect. The fire was on when we arrived and he even offered to take our dogs out for a walk whilst we went to Edinburgh! Thank you so much for your hospitality. We’ll be back at some point :)

    Harriet2020-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • We were looking for somewhere for a quiet weekend and Michael’s place was perfect. A dog walk to the Buffalo Farm for lunch, and a cosy afternoon with books and board games in front of the fire. Would definitely recommend!

  • Adorable spot, beautiful location exactly as described. Wendy was a great host, very helpful and friendly. Only downside is that it was a bit difficult to find and with the cold weather I would have preferred an attached bathroom! But it was very charming!

    Amy2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • A brilliant place to get away from it all. Snug on a cold evening listening to wind & rain. I cant wait to come back, it will be just as good sitting out on a summer evening. Highly recommended.

  • The cabin is as beautiful as it looks, better even. We expected the WC to be a bit basic, but it’s so lovely too, and has a shower!! Wendy is great at giving all the info you need, very welcoming on arrival, then left us in peace from then on. In the cabin, everything has been thought about, despite the limited space. And it’s so cosy, but doesn’t feel cramped. It’s modern and rustic at the same time, and set in beautiful surroundings (yes, we saw some deer 🦌 in the morning), with the river at the bottom of the field. It’s also great value for money. I can’t recommend this place enough.

    Brian2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • Wendy's place is just magical- a cosy retreat right next door to nature. Every piece of furniture is well thought out and little touches have been left to make the trip extra special. Wendy is a wonderful host and I would certainly love to come back in the Summer to see the surroundings and enjoy sitting out on the deck. Book it!!

  • Julie's apartment is perfect for our little family getaway! We had everything we needed throughout our stay and nothing was too much trouble for Julie when we called on the odd occasion to ask silly questions! Ideal location and lovely modern interior. • We had a family member stay at Julie's place following our baby's arrival, it was very close and a convenient place for them to stay, we'll be telling friends and family about the place

    Tim2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Myself and my partner recently stayed in this property over the new year period, the place is very well located and pretty central to local amenities including supermarkets and train station. The train in to Edinburgh city centre costs around £5 return and there is free parking for your car at the station or it’s a lovely walk to the station - it took us around 30 minutes at a leisurely stroll. The place itself is cosy and quiet, Julie thought of absolutely everything we could of needed. There’s basics in the cupboard for cooking - we’ve stayed in so many air b&b’s and have had to buy all the little things. Free WiFi, chrome cast on the tv to connect your phone. The place was spotlessly clean and tidy. The only downside was the shower, if you’re any taller than 5ft8 you have to crouch to wash your hair. Overall a fantastic stay in a lovely place! Would definitely recommend!!!

You can enjoy dinner at the award winning seafood restaurant or a a quick bite to eat at the Smokehouse at the end of the street. From St Monans you are a pleasant walk or a short drive or bus trip to other picturesque towns along the East Coast of Scotland such as Pittenweem and Anstruther. You are well served for places to eat, drink, golf, walk, shop.....whatever you enjoy! There is an information book in the cottage with much more about what to do and see in the area, and please don't hesitate to ask any questions about the area before you arrive.
  • Beautiful location. Right next to the harbour on the seafront. Perfect base for us walking the Fife costal route. If your looking for ultra modern then this isn’t for you. For us it was clean, cosy and full of charm. I would definitely go back in the summer. Thank you for being a great host Malcolm.

    David2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely cottage right on the sea front. We arrived in St Monans during quite stormy weather, so it was great to get inside to a cosy cottage. Hope to come back and stay again.

    Katie2020-01-14T00:00:00Z
  • We would highly recommend a stay at Malcolm's cosy cottage in beautiful St Monans. It has such a welcoming atmosphere and is in a perfect spot for exploring the East Neuk of Fife and beyond! If you love being beside the sea, you will love it here 😊

Stylish & cosy ground floor flat in picturesque Fife fishing village. The perfect getaway! Private entrance, own garden, beach walks & WiFi.
Woodside is a ‘home from home’ base for you with stripped floor boards and wool rugs, this ground floor flat is both stylish and comfy. It feels more like a cottage than a flat! The living room has a click clack sofa for an extra guest (please let me know if you have a 3rd guest & I’ll provide bedding etc), comfy sofa and armchair, a little table for suppers, it's fully stocked with lots of books, jigsaws and board games. The fireplace is not now used for real fires but there are a collection of pillar candles sitting in the fireplace so you can still experience that cosy romantic glow! It's an old fashioned seaside 'get away from it all flat'. Do note it’s in an old building so there are squeaky floorboards & sash & case windows...all part of the charm! It’s in a small conservation village (just 2 streets) which is off the beaten track. You’ll really feel as if you have stepped back in time! Woodside is tucked away on a small residential street called Church Street which sits at the very top of the West Wemyss. Please note, for the purposes of accuracy that Woodside doesn’t have any sea views. However, the sea itself is just a 2 minute walk away down through the village. So you are never far away! In the living area there’s a small TV with all the usual freeview channels. There's a digital radio with a CD player & large collection of CDs you can play. There’s also unlimited Wi-fi for your use. The flat has a fresh and bright double bedroom with plantation shutters for privacy and wardrobe, chest of drawers and dressing table for storage. It has a sunny and bright freestanding kitchen with views out to the fully enclosed garden. It is well stocked with kitchen equipment and has a brand new washing machine, new fridge, new oven, new microwave....there's also a new Nespresso machine (a handful of capsules are provided to get you started). There is a sunny shower room with fully enclosed shower cubicle. Shampoo and soap are provided along with towels. The garden has a paved area for sitting out and enjoying the birdsong (there are squirrels in the surrounding trees to watch) and an area of lawn for a picnic rug!
Woodside is tucked away on a small residential street called Church Street at the very top of the West Wemyss. The sea itself is just a 2 minute walk away down through the village. Please note Woodside doesn’t have any sea views. It does however have garden views from the kitchen. The village and surrounding area is a haven for wildlife, including a resident seal colony. Gannets and arctic terns from the Bass Rock can be viewed feeding around West Wemyss in the summer months and dolphins are also frequent visitors. The beautiful Fife Coastal Path runs through West Wemyss, keen walkers can take on the continuous 117 miles across the sandy shores and coastal pathways or can just walk smaller sections of it! Details of the Fife Costal Walk can be found in a guest folder in the flat along with lots of other walking suggestions. There are of course a huge number of local golf courses in the area in addition to the multitude of courses at St Andrews, the home of golf. The nearby harbour of Dysart is within walking distance and was used in the filming of Outlander. There is a Harbour Masters house in Dysart where you'll find soup and a sandwich, lots of information about Outlander and also the Coastal Walk. West Wemyss has a community run pub which is open 3 nights a week. Do come in. We're all very friendly and it's a good way to find out about life in the village. Occasionally there's live music and often there's a domino competition! There's also a small cafe in West Wemyss serving coffee and cake and hot food which is open Thursday - Sunday . You are guaranteed a warm welcome. You'll also find a small heritage centre in the village and Tam who works there will be overjoyed to tell you about the rich history of the local area...not to mention the famous Wemyss caves.
  • This home is very much as advertised but more so. For people who enjoy villages with history set on the coast Woodview is ideal. More suited to someone with a car, it does have bus access and a coastal path for the keen walker. You will not be disappointed: Alison is an excellent host and for a single malt lover the 'wee dram' was most welcome.

    Tim2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Alison's place is a real gem. You are right by the sea and close to lots of pretty coastal villages. West Wemyss itself is delightfully secluded and peaceful - the perfect getaway. Alison could not have been more accommodating and friendly, making our stay really easy. We also enjoyed listening to her music collection, during the storm! We would love to come back.

    James2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • What an excellent little find on Airbnb. The location, property and host were all exceptional. I will definitely stay here again when I'm back in the area. Alison is a great host, probably the best I have booked with by far. The accommodation is in a lovely quiet area, local walks and driving distance to St Andrews and Edinburgh. Perfect for our little weekend.

    James2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Alison's place. Directions were clear and there was plenty of parking available. The apartment itself is lovely, very clean and everything you need. We never got the chance to meet Ali, but she was very fast at replying to any messages and was very very friendly. We would definitely stay here again, and would absolutely recommend to others.

    Aimee2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • MY VISIT WAS MAGICAL! Alison turned out to be the best host I have ever come across in Airbnb. She was kind, friendly and went out of her way to help. Her place is absolutely immaculate. She has all the facilities needed for your stay and the location was just magical. I even managed to catch the seals sunbathing on the beach rocks! But Alison herself, is what made my stay so amazing. I would recommend this place a hundred times over. Come for the location, come for the beautiful apartment but most importantly come to meet Alison. She makes the place what it is. 💙

  • This place is INCREDIBLE, absolutely sparkling, really beautifully furnished. It feels like a home away from home. Alison makes every insurance to guarantee you a stay you will remember. HIGHLY recommend.

  • Nice room, big, comfortable bed, clean, private bathroom, all the elements you need to be comfortable. Craig is a thoughtful and friendly host who has created a nice airbnb experience. The location is an hour by bus from Waverly and perhaps 10 min walk from the bus stop. Some might consider this a negative but in reality it's an asset. You can go all the way with one single bus, the buses are fabulous, have convenient schedules, the drive is beautiful! I would take that bus even if I didn't have some place to go. We would have never seen that part of the country had we not stayed with a Craig so don't let location put you off, way better than staying in town AND more cost effective. Good job Craig!

  • Nice & spacious room in the small family houses area. The additional advantage was the private bathroom. Nice welcome by the host.

  • We only stayed one night but it was very comfortable. The room is spacious and the bathroom (private) is clean. Craig is very responsive to messages. Thank you !

  • Perfect stay the night before flying back home. Nice location outside the city, near fife. Super clean, super comfortable bed, tv with netflix, parking space, clean bathroom with nice shower. Craig is a super friendly host and we felt welcome. Definitely recommend to stay!

    Lianne2019-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • Craig’s guest room and en-suite was spotlessly clean and in a very quiet street. The bed is very, very comfortable and the bedclothes and towels smelled great! I really enjoyed my short stay with them. I slept very well and woke feeling very refreshed. Craig offered use of his kitchen and complimentary hot drinks. I recommend Craig’s room, which is great value for money.

Looking for a great meal? La Gondola is a firm favourite in the town serving homemade Italian food. For Indian food, The Beveridge Park Hotel serves the best curry this side of Bombay. We also recommend The Strathearn Hotel for a mix of different cuisines. Visit the Bothy at Scotland’s largest Buffalo Farm if you're looking for ways to entertain the kids pop along to the Bothy for a bite to eat and a visit to see our lovely animals! We have pygmy goats, lambs, ewe, emus, chickens and of course we can't forget our talking turkeys! Love a good walk? The Fife Coastal Path is right on your doorstep and stretches for 117 miles from the Forth Bridge all the way to the Tay Bridge. Kirkcaldy has two great parks, The Beveridge Park and Ravenscraig Park. Both have kids play areas, wide open spaces and beautiful adventure trails. Rainy day or stuck for ideas? Head to Fife Leisure Park in Dunfermline for bowling, indoor crazy golf, movies, bingo and a wealth of restaurants to choose from. A great day out rain, hail or shine!

  • First of all thank you very much to Allan and Fiona for letting myself and my family stay in their beautiful home. The couple were amazing hosts. I text to ask if we could check in early and this was no problem at all and they responded so quickly. Me myself and kids (5)(9) were amazed pulling up to the huge beautiful house. We were greeted at the door by Fiona who took us through to the garden to show us the amazing view of the beach which is practically their back garden. She then took us in and showed us round the house, gave us brilliant knowledge of the surroundings such as where to eat, where the closest shop was, things we could do with the kids. Allan then came in and greeted us and gave us even more tips. Fiona noticed Ethan (5) playing with some toys and were and got a big bucket of more for him to play with. I had mentioned when emailing them that we were coming up for my parents birthday and when we showed up they had our birthday banners and balloons up for him. We were also giving a snack box with lovely treats inside. I only wish we booked for more than one night because this place is amazing and we had such a good time making family memories here. The next morning just before we were about to leave we realised we have a flat tyre, Allan and Fiona were so helpful they found us a pump and we were sorted. They let myself and the kids stay past checkout time while my partner drove to Morrison’s to pump up the tyre a little more and check her pressure in it before driving home. During our stay we were already looking to see if they have availability to come back June and we will definitely be booking for a long weekend. Thank you Allan and Fiona, it was a privilege to stay in “granny’s house” The Duffy family will see you soon.

  • A lovely flat very well located in Burntisland for the local shops, train station, beach, leisure centre and park. The train station is brilliant for exploring the local area and gets you to Edinburgh in half an hour too. Sacha is a great host, very good at keeping in contact and provided a travel cot and highchair so our daughter could enjoy our holiday too. The surrounding area is beautiful too - in particular Silver Sands in Aberdour, a beautiful beach with a lovely restaurant next to it. Aberdour is beautiful with lovely cafes, coastal walks and a castle. The flat is well located to explore all that Fife has to offer.

  • This was our first AirBNB experience and it was lovely, everything was so easy to do. With everything going on with coronavirus at the moment the host went the extra mile with hygiene. In the local area we went to a lovely restaurant and on a nice hike recommended to us by the host. The Weebothy was quaint but still plenty of space and amenities. The hot tub added an extra touch to an already lovely stay; it was great at the end of the day! We would recommend taking slippers and/or flip-flops to get to the hot tub though as we forgot these.

  • It is a super clean lovely cottage. You will love it too. Nick and Sophie are great hosts. Nick and Sophie's cottage is beautifully decorated. Nick and Sophie are great hosts. The house is super clean and cozy.

  • Our stay exceeded expectations on all levels. The cottage was beautiful and so peaceful, extremely clean too. It was not far from St. Andrews town centre but far enough from the hustle and bustle and a fraction of the price of the hotels. The best part was the very thoughtful touches of a home bake, jam and procesco on arrival. It really made the difference for us. The hosts recommended Forgans and The Peat Inn which we dined in and loved! We loved out stay and cannot wait to return. Roslynn and Max x

  • A perfect place to stay for a relaxing, peaceful few days. The cottage was spotless, very comfortable and felt really well looked after. Definitely the nicest air BnB we've stayed in! Thanks for a lovely few days!

  • We had a really wonderful stay at the braeview cottage. The cottage is a beautiful space that has been kept to an extremely high standard. The wood burning stove was a lovely bonus! Sophie and Nick were extremely warm and friendly hosts who made our trip feel really special, they even baked for us and left a bottle of Prosecco which was so kind! We had an amazing stay and would thoroughly recommend this cottage for a relaxing time away.

  • We had a wonderful time at Braeview for my husband’s birthday. The cottage is very peaceful, but not too off the beaten track and really easy to get to from Edinburgh. The cottage was sparkling clean on arrival and so cosy. Lots of nice touches & very comfortable. Really enjoyed the open plan layout and the lovely views from the patio doors. We had everything we needed! We had lunch at The Peat Inn (an easy 8 mins walk away) and would definitely recommend staying at Braeview if you’re planning a special meal at The Peat Inn and want to make a weekend of it!

  • This is a very comfortable and cosy place for two, and was lovely to come back to after being out on a blustery winter's day. The log burner was very easy to light and added to the cosy feel. The open plan space works really well and the owner's have made it into a simple yet stylish place to stay. Lovely and quiet, yet not particularly off the beaten track and easy to find . Very convenient for visiting St Andrews and Crail. Would love to visit again in warmer weather and get the benefit of the patio space!

  • Stunning little place, really handy for St Andrews and all the walks around it, very comfortable and Sophie and Nick were great hosts. We’ll definitely be back soon!

A charming little newly renovated Bothy with beautiful interior. Kitchen and dining area downstairs with woodburning stove. Bathroom also downstairs with shower cubicle. Upstairs is a cozy loft style bedroom with quite low ceilings so for the taller guests...please mind your heads when climbing into bed! :-) **OUTSIDE SEATING AREA COMING SOON WITH BBQ AND FIREPIT...WILL BE AVAILABLE FROM MAY 2020**
This is a traditional 'Bothy' located in a secluded and very picturesque rural area. We are easily accesible from the Main Route East to West off the A85. Approx half way between Perth and market town of Crieff. We are situated near the Gorthy Woods where there are beautiful walks and pony trekking. Bikers very welcome - indoor bike parking and drying facilities for wet gear also available. Our closest village of Methven (4 miles away) offers a convenience store, post office, indian restaurant, chinese take away and pub.
A very tranquil and scenic area. Peaceful with fresh air and minimal traffic. A beautiful taste of Scottish countryside.
  • Excellent place for a stopover. Very clean and comfortable, very neat decoration, Laura does her best to make you feel at home. We will definitely come back to this adorable little house.

  • We had a fantastic stay at this beautiful cottage. Everything is brand new, super clean, cosy and the little breakfast was an extra touch that made all the difference, perfect airbnb!

  • Laura was a great host. She replied to our request within minutes and provided accurate directions to get to her home. The bothy was warm and quaint! There was plenty of wood for the woodstove and all utensils and amenities included. The cottage was sparkling clean and we couldn't have asked for a better stay. A wonderful country retreat if you're looking to get away from the big smoke for the night. Would highly recommend to all!

Coronavirus Update - in the light of the new rules, we will only accept bookings from local people who need to protect relatives from the virus, after careful discussion. Holmlea is a cosy but airy cottage c. 1840, nestled in a quiet, pretty little road in the friendly village of Freuchie. With spacious, high-ceilinged rooms, Holmlea has an arty, vintage style, and is a comfortable and relaxing space. The cottage is light, and you can park in the road and in a free car park 25 metres away.
Homelea is full of original features, and we have added a beautiful cream Jotul stove with Delft tiling as a focal point for the living room, with sweet little insect illustrations. All of the artworks in the cottage are original, as we are an artistic family, and many are available for sale. Outside, although there is not a garden, there is a bench where you can sit out in the sun, and a back doorstep area where you can also take chairs and a table out for breakfast or in the evening when it is fair. There are also parks close by and a cricket ground. There is a guitar you can borrow if you didn't manage to bring your own! In the bathroom there is a new shower over a bath, and there is lovely antique furniture throughout. There is a new smart TV, so you can access Netflix, Freeview etc. Please note that although the cottage is all on one level, there is one step up at the front door and three at the back. We have aimed for the cottage to be homely, comfortable, attractive and the sort of place we would love to stay on holiday. Coming mid-January - a lovely sofa bed so we will be to accommodate 4 guests!
Freuchie is a very friendly community, and there are local shops for groceries etc five minutes walk away. There is also a 24 hour garage with large Spar shop just outside Freuchie, which sells craft beers, and great hotels and pubs are also nearby - our guests are often adopted by the friendly villagers! The legendary Pillars of Hercules is a short drive away, a characterful cafe/restaurant with a very laid-back approach, delicious home baked food, and health store - lots of tables outside and in. The Lomond Hills are on your doorstep for amazing 360 degree views of Fife (you can walk, or drive up most of the way to a car park and viewing point), and the historic village of Falkland is a five minute drive away and well worth a visit, for its beautiful old buildings, famous tea rooms, gorgeous gift shops, and the fascinating and beautiful Falkland Palace and Gardens, which features one of the oldest tennis courts in the world. Outlander was filmed here. You will find that almost everyone you pass in Freuchie says hello!
  • Very spacious cottage. Super clean and cozy feeling. Bed is very soft and living room with the lmaps on makes a perfect space to spend an evening. Would recommend

  • Such a beautiful cottage, spotlessly clean and nicely decorated. It has everything you could possibly need to feel at home. There is even a bookshelf containing a good selection of books and a couple of board games which I particularly enjoyed. Katy provided all the information necessary to make finding the cottage and checking in super easy and there is even a large free car park really close by so parking the car was not an issue at all. Would definitely recommended staying here and I hope to return again myself in the future!

  • A beautiful property very clean and very well looked after and great attention to detail given in the decoration. I would recommend booking and staying at this property and would love to return and stay there again myself one day

  • We loved our stay at Holmlea. A traditional cottage, cute with period charm. Oh yes. But everything inside works perfectly, and the interior is so beautifully done with lots of caring touches and a bed which was deliciously comfy after a day's coastal exploration. We particularly loved the fire (with logs) and guitar. A wonderful place, and a wonderful weekend. Thank you, Katy.

  • Amazing location with amazing views. The smallest of touches that even I wouldnt think of! Thank you ever so much for a lovely weekend xx

  • A charming, welcoming cottage, friendly village, and perfect location for touring. Wonderful, thoughtful hosts - will definitely recommend to family and friends, and will definitely return.

  • You will open the door to Homelea and feel at home immediately - that is if you are lucky enough to live somewhere as cosy and artistic as Katy’s cottage! You rolling in the Edinburgh or Fife area.will find everything you need of such quality and thought to cook a meal ( shops open late nearby), then snuggle up on a comfortable sofa in front of the fire and perhaps watch a favourite film. The bedroom is also exceptionally comfortable - we’ve had a welcome night’s rest every visit! Every item, from Katy’s choice of crockery to the lovely paintings on the walls by Katy and her professional artist family, are high quality and not the usual items expected in an Airbnb property. Homelea is ideally situated, near commuting train station into Edinburgh and in the heart of the beautiful Fife coast and countryside. From Freuchie you can see the breadth of Edinburgh’s coastline, a hop over the Fife bridge! We will always choose to stay here!
