Accommodation is in a spacious Victorian house, built in 1870. It is part of a courtyard with a deli, smokehouse and award-winning seafood restaurant. The house is beside the A78 road, backing onto the Fairlie moors.
The house is self contained with own entrance and garden, while being attached to the old farmhouse which is occupied by the owner. In the courtyard there is a farm shop where you can find fresh fish (locally caught by Bernard), seafood, smoked fish and other local produce. There is also an acclaimed seafood restaurant "The Catch at Fins". Fencefoot is ideally situated for exploring the Clyde Coast and Islands.

  • Bernard's cottage was fantastic, well placed and the proximity with the restaurant was an absolute delight. The scenery around it is very enjoyable too. I loved getting up in the morning and smell a discreet but very mouth watering grilled fish being prepared in the kitchen. Bernard is a caring and kind host and was very quick to respond to any question. On our last night they were kind enough to let us order a late meal at the restaurant and brought it to the cottage so we enjoyed restaurant food in front of the TV and next to the fireplace. We definitely recommend this place for a getaway weekend as a couple or with the family. Thank you Bernard :)

  • Amazing place to stay. Right next door to a farm shop and seafood restaurant. Amazing cottage to stay in with a wood burner just what you need with the traditional Scottish weather. Everything that you want is provided here and Tom and Bernard are amazing. You have to try the freshly baked bread and homemade jam amongst other things from the farm shop. You can't stay here and not visit the farm shop or restaurant

  • This place was huge, spacious and yet cosy. The restaurant food was to die for. Always go for the chefs specials. They are very special !!! Bernard hasmade sure you stay nice,warm and comfy with plenty of books,netflix, games and wooden logs. The walk up the hillandthe views are mesmirising.

  • We stayed for 4nights at Bernard's house with our dog and we had a great time. The house is fantastic with the living room/kitchen being really cosy, especially with the wood burner in full use! The bedrooms were great as well with plenty of room. We loved the fact that the farm shop was right outside the front door and if you stay with Bernard and dont eat in the Fin restaurant, you are missing out! There is plenty to do within a close drive of Bernard's house even if the weather is terrible (storm Ciara didnt stop us having a great time!) There is a main road right outside the house but it didnt cause any issues, either while we were in the living room or with sleeping. Thank you Bernard, we had a great, relaxing week.

    The cottage is located at the bottom of the main house's small private garden. It is quiet & secure. Half a minutes walk from Largs train station. Fully equipped for self catering. This studio style cottage has a shower room with towels ,shower gel, toilet rolls and handwash supplied. A small kitchen area with electric cooker, sink, fridge with ice box , kettle and toaster. The kitchen cupboard is stocked with complementary tea, coffee and cereal. The fridge will also be stocked ,fresh milk,etc.
    Suitable for a single traveller or a couple.
    The cottage is within easy walking distance to all of the local attractions, 100 yards from the promenade. Shops, bars & restaurants are close by. The local area is busy during the day and quiet at night We like 'Scotts at the Yacht Haven' for alfresco lunches !

  • This is a lovely, welcoming flat - beautifully decorated with a relaxing beach vibe. The kitchen was well equipped, and the complimentary bathroom toiletries were a nice touch. We loved the cupboard full of board games! The beach is literally on the doorstep, and the big bay window gives amazing views out to sea, whatever the weather! It’s a great location for beach walks and for exploring the beautiful west coast of Scotland. Highly recommended - we would definitely stay here again.

    Newly refurbished 2 bedroom 1st floor apartment in lovely quiet village 2 minutes to the beach and 5 minutes to the train station, with links to Glasgow and Edinburgh. very central location, for visiting Isle of Arran, Cumbrae, and Loch Lomond and the Trossachs. Near Largs, a seaside town and marina, both offering good restaurants, pubs, and family activities.
    Two bedrooms double beds, plus sofa single in lounge, extra guest using single is £15, per night, there is also travel cot available, and high chair.
    Fairlie is a small seaside village, very near to Largs marina. It has local pub, which serves food. There is also local sandwich/hot rolls, soup, etc. There is also hairdresser, beauticians and garage, with shop.

  • We loved the views across to Cumbrae and Arran and enjoyed early morning walks along the shore. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed. Can recommend the local pub for dinners, Michelle's for breakfast rolls was 5 mins walk and the hairdresser and beautician at No 75 were very close and very good. A lovely spot.

    The Beach Pad is freshly decorated beach apartment, on quiet lane and two minutes walk to a beautiful Beach with great views of wildlife and surrounding Islands. Friendly Village bar and restaurant 6 minutes walk along The Ayrshire coastal path. Reasonable priced quality food and drinks, Family and dog friendly too. Dogs very welcome, max of two. Fee £40 per dog per visit. cash on arrival. Bus stop 3 minute walk. Train 6 minutes walk. Marina 30 minute walk. Pub 5 min walk. Garage 10 min.
    The Beach Pad apartment is in a solid stone Victorian building. The location is on a quiet side street but still very near all your required amenities. The apartment has central heating and an electric fire. Fairlie has a stunning beach with many yachts in the summer. There is a sofa bed in the lounge. The apartment is all on the level. And only one step off the street.
    Fairlie is great village on Scotlands west coast. Lots of outdoor walk/cycles/golf courses/sailing and also good bus/train services to travel further/local islands/ferries/cities of Glasgow, Ayr/Troon and Edinburgh. largs Sailing Marina with bars and cafes. Friendly Village bar/beer garden allows dogs also restaurant, food all day and night menu.

  • The place is a fantastic find for me and my son. A small Village, very close to the beach. We were very much at home with the flat and had all the things we needed to stay comfortably. A nice touch of delicious scones with jam on our first day, as well as coffee, milk and cold drinks on the fridge. Good communication with the owner Toni who took time to meet us and gave us suggestions regarding places to go, visit and eat. Definitely could comfortably accommodate 3 or even family of 4 if using the living room, well depending on what the owner allows! There are plenty of places to see, parks to play and a nice walk to the beach in Fairlie alone. We loved the park nearby with tennis and football court. For someone with an electric car, it's few minutes drive to Main Largs Town centre and you can charge for free at the Vikings Centre or pay for charging at the Yacht Club parking area. Definitely worth staying. We are looking forward to coming back in future summer holidays. Really worth the money paid.

Toni is an amazing host and for my first use of AirBnB it’ll be hard for anyone to top the wonderfully warm welcome me and my partner received. Toni’s pad was immaculately clean with a lovely modern interior. A stones throw from the beach and lovely views of the isle of Aaron at the end of the road. With a lovely garden perfect for any four-legged visitors. Would definitely stay again!

    This light and airy apartment benefits from a new kitchen and shower room. It is on the first floor and from the bay window in the living room you can see the Cumbrae ferry coming in and out of Largs. The flat is in a quiet area but central to all of Largs amenities. It is suitable for visitors to Largs on holiday or business travellers alike.
    The kitchen has a hob, oven, kettle, toaster, microwave, fridge and washing machine. The heating is electric and easily controlled in each room (no need for a carbon monoxide detector). The shower room has a brand new Mira shower.
    The apartment is 100m from the shore and all of Largs restaurants and coffee shops are minutes away.

    We are currently taking a break from hosting due to family issues but regular guests should still get in touch. Make yourself at home! We want you to feel this when you're here as if you're staying with friends, free to use all the facilities of our house. Less than a minute to prom & close to the Cumbrae ferry. We can store bicycles in garage (motorbikes in our locked garden out of sight) and there's ample on-street parking. We also have a double bedroom listed. We have a small friendly dog.
    DUE TO CORONAVIRUS WE ARE NOT BOOKING UNLESS LONG TERM AND YOU SHOULD CONTACT US RE DATES The space is a very popular and decent sized single bedroom and very comfortable and all our guests show this in their reviews. Situated opposite the shared bathroom. We have people return to it many time as they like the peace and quiet of it. Every review we have is a genuine review from a guest we have hosted. This is a 5 star 🌟 apartment full of art and everything we hope you'll need to make you feel comfortable and at a home from home! This comes from Rodrigo and Kristyna who stayed in July 2018 from Prague in our double room (also listed); “Five stars don’t make this place and the hosts any justice. They deserve way more. Amazing hosts, quite responsive and they made us feel like at home, as if we were staying with friends.” The apartment is on a first floor of a block of 4 apartments called "villas” built in, or around, 1877. It really is a beautiful apartment and we get so many returning guests as a result. There is a wide 21 stair staircase to the apartment of with hand rails but the apartment is on one level for guests. As hosts, we have ensure we are significantly cheaper than local B&B and Hotels in the area and are a genuine Airbnb and provide breakfast. We have many guests staying for months at a time (also in our doubles room which is listed separately). Please also be aware we are not in Glasgow so please be sure you are booking correctly. We are around 50 mins by car or train from the city and although many stay here and travel to the city if you want to be in Glasgow itself do not book this room. IF DATES YOU WANT ARE BLOCKED PLEASE ASK AS WE CAN ALWAYS SEE WHAT WE CAN DO TO RELEASE THESE SO YOU GET THE STAY YOU WANT AS SOMETIMES IT CAN JUST BE US AWAY FOR AN EVENING AND HAVE NO ISSUES WITH GUESTS WHO ARE HERE MORE THAN A NIGHT BEING ALONE IF THEY ARE HAPPY WITH THAT. Remember here you're paying for the room and use of other facilities in our home and have a sitting room shared with other guests. So, we see it as a unique offer! We don't expect our guests to stay in their rooms! We want you to make yourself at home here. Breakfast - this is a breakfast of teas, coffee, cereals, muesli, porridge (on request) and croissants with jams and marmalade. Breakfast cereals and croissants are suitable vegetarian (verified by Tesco Vegetarian Food report Sep 2016) We don't allow Orla (our small dog) into the room unless guests invite her in! Orla is jack russell cross who will bark if the door bell goes otherwise she is as soft as possible and a big hit with our guests. Remember here you're paying for the room and use of other facilities in our home as you have a sitting room for guests and full use of the kitchen. So we see it as a unique offer! We don't expect our guests to stay in their rooms! Please note cleaning fee is a genuine one and is used to pay Angel Dust Cleaning Company who clean the apartment and we keep this cost low. We have tried to have a one night v longer fee but Airbnb only allows one price so I hope you understand this. It is essential to us that every guest finds the apartment in mint condition and so all cleaning fees go directly to Angel Dust Cleaning Company in Largs. Please do ask any questions and ask about longer stay discounts. We want to make your stay as comfortable as possible and look forward to welcoming you to lovely Largs.
    Brisbane St is lovely - quiet and friendly and just a minutes walk from the bus stop and about 5-10 minutes walk to town hosting great coffee shops, restaurants and bars (depending on your walking pace!) Everyone in Largs says hello and always happy to chat to visitors! We are less than a minute from the sea front! About a 8 min drive to marina or lovely walk to the marina so ideally placed for those sailing or wanting to celebrate at their amazing restaurant. Largs itself is just beautiful and everyone who comes here loves it! Perfect for cycling and walking and touring around the West of Scotland and if nothing else for just getting that essential time for you! We also have Largs Food Festival annually, which is fantastic (URL HIDDEN) Also we are right next to the Viking Festival that happens annually (URL HIDDEN) Then we have Largs Live with tons of venues of live music annually (URL HIDDEN) Close to Glasgow too - 50 minutes by train or around 1 HR by car. Glasgow Airport is 40 mins away only. 2 hours to Edinburgh and many of our guests come from or to there as a stop at a genuine seaside town.

  • Colin is a superb host. He went out of his way to be helpful and accommodating. I booked both rooms for 5 nights, one for myself and the other for my friend. Both rooms were immaculately clean and beautifully furnished. The bed linen was sumptuous and the shower was amazing. Indeed the whole of dear 61R Brisbane Street was such a pleasure to come back to. So many thoughtful touches and a wonderful atmosphere. We were made to feel welcome and at home. Orla, the little dog made us smile from the moment we met her. My friend does not usually like dogs (to put it mildly) but for some reason, Orla became her best friend. Indeed she has told me to be sure and sing Orla's praises in this review. Colin also prepared a fine breakfast every morning and gave us invaluable local knowledge. We had more than ample private space, including the lounge, well stocked with books on the arts, and a whole array of films on request. Great paintings hang from every wall. Such great value and location is spot on for the town centre, just beside the railway. Lisa was a fantastic host and checked in on us to make sure we made it etc. Weather was crazy (storm Dennis) and Lisa so kindly let us have more time in the flat on the day of check out which was so kind and massively appreciated! Can’t wait to come back and hopefully get a trip to Millport when it’s no blowin a’gale!

  • The flat is easy to find, convenient for just about everything, the station, town, sea front, supermarket etc you don't need a car, but easy nearby parking. Flat is spotlessly clean, well equipped with good TV broadband fully equipped kitchen, decent shower comfy bed, it feels secure and is quiet. Lisa had left bread and milk and breakfast food for us. It's great value and I wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

    Cottage is just of the main A78 between Seamill and Largs. Seamill Hydro Hotel,Waterside Hotel,Arran Ferry, Largs Marina, Millport Ferry and Kelburn Country Park are all close by as is West Kilbride Golf course.Burns Country and Culzean Castle approx an hour away.Glasgow city centre 40mins on the train. Bus stop is across the road and Train station is approx a mile away.
    Cottage has ample car parking space to front of property and a large private patio area looking on to country garden where you can see wild rabbits and birds.The patio can be accessed from patio doors in lounge and also from kitchen.
    The main house is next to cottage and the area is very quiet and private. There is a cycle path runs past the cottage which is also used by joggers, walkers and horses.
  • I love coming back to this beautiful cottage, and will even change my travel plans if the dates I'm looking for are already booked! I just wouldn't want to stay anywhere else, and could not recommend it more. Annette and her husband are the warmest and loveliest of hosts and the cottage clean, spacious, very tastefully decorated, with lots of lovely personal touches that Annette adds too. There's a folder she's put together for her guests detailing things in the area you might be looking for, and I find it's a great location not just for West Kilbride, but also for the neighboring towns along this part of the west coast.

  • We are regulars at Annette's cottage and to be honest, before discovering this little gem I had stayed in the Seamill Hydro, the Waterside and a local guest house too, but now there is no other place I'd go. Although you have complete privacy, the welcome we receive through Annette's thoughtful little touches really warms your heart. We arrived Christmas Eve this time, and from the twinkling outdoor lights, the jolly Christmas wreath, the Christmas tree and all the little Christmasey touches she'd tucked in around the house, we were so delighted by the warm and festive atmosphere she had created and obviously put so much time and thought into. As ever, all the practical things you could possibly need are there too and you have the l peace of mind that if you need to contact her for anything, she will always get back to you right away. A thoughtful, dependable, warm and very lovely host.

The cottage was perfect for us and ideal for anyone looking for a quiet getaway on the West Coast. There was milk in the fridge, fluffy white towels and the heating was on when we arrived. We can store bicycles in our garage (motorbikes in our locked garden out of sight) and there's ample on-street parking. We also have a another bedroom listed.

Situated directly next to the shared bathroom. Fully re-decorated In August 2018. We have many returning guests, as they like the peace and quiet of it. Every single review we have is from a genuine guest. This is a 5 star 🌟 apartment full of art and everything we hope you'll need to make you feel comfortable and at a home from home! Please be aware we charge a per person rate despite Airbnb preferring a room only rate. We do this because we do not want single travelling guests to pay more than we feel is reasonable in this room and we keep our prices low so you can stay longer! Please do ask about longer term stay discounts. The apartment is on a first floor of a block of 4 apartments called "villas” built in, or around, 1877. It really is a beautiful apartment and we get so many returning guests as a result. There is a wide 21 stair staircase to the apartment with hand rails but the apartment is on one level for guests. As hosts, we have ensure we are significantly cheaper than local B&B and Hotels in the area and are a genuine Airbnb and provide breakfast. We have many guests staying for months at a time (especially in our single room which is listed separately). Please also be aware we are not in Glasgow so please be sure you are booking correctly. We are around 50 mins by car or train from the city and although many stay here and travel to the city if you want to be in Glasgow itself do not book this room. It is essential to us that every guest finds the apartment in mint condition and so all cleaning fees go directly to Angel Dust Cleaning Company in Largs. We don't allow Orla (our small dog) into the room unless guests invite her in! Orla is jack russell cross who will bark if the door bell goes otherwise she is as soft as possible and a big hit with our guests. Breakfast - this is a breakfast of teas, coffee, cereals, muesli, porridge (on request) and croissants with jams and marmalade. Breakfast cereals are suitable for vegetarians. (verified by Tesco Vegetarian Food report Sep 2016) Here's a private comment we received from Shelley Lowther who has agreed to us sharing it - "“The room is beautiful with luxurious bedding and soft furnishings. There was a range of complimentary toiletries for my use which was very convenient as I had travelled by plane. Little touches like fresh flowers in the room along with magazines made my stay very relaxing. The whole apartment was exceptionally clean with the added bonus of well equipped kitchen containing a range of appliances including an ice machine. I was able to use my laptop anywhere in the apartment and receive good wi fi connection. I would highly recommend this comfortable home from home to other users.” This was a review from Frida who stayed in June 2016 but missed the 14 days to enter her review: "I am SO glad we picked your place for the last stop! I only wished we had found you sooner. All three of you (yes, also Orla) made the last days count even more than the rest. You were beyond kind to us, and helpfull with ANYTHING we needed.     Brisbane St is lovely - quiet and friendly and just a minutes walk from the bus stop and about 5-10 minutes walk to town hosting great coffee shops, restaurants and bars (depending on your walking pace!) We are less than a minute from the sea front! About a 8 min drive to marina or lovely walk to the marina so ideally placed for those sailing or wanting to celebrate at their amazing restaurant. Largs itself is just beautiful and everyone who comes here loves it! Perfect for cycling and walking and touring around the West of Scotland and if nothing else for just getting that essential time for you! We also have Largs Food Festival annually, which is fantastic (URL HIDDEN) Also we are right next to the Viking Festival that happens annually (URL HIDDEN) Then we have Largs Live with tons of venues of live music annually (URL HIDDEN) Close to Glasgow too - about 50 minutes by train or around 1 HR by car. About 2 hours to Edinburgh and many of our guests come from or to there as a stop at a genuine seaside town.

  • Colin is a superb host. He went out of his way to be helpful and accommodating. I booked both rooms for 5 nights, one for myself and the other for my friend. Both rooms were immaculately clean and beautifully furnished. Indeed the whole of dear 61R Brisbane Street was such a pleasure to come back to. So many thoughtful touches and a wonderful atmosphere. We were made to feel welcome and at home. Orla, the little dog made us smile from the moment we met her. My friend does not usually like dogs (to put it mildly) but for some reason, Orla became her best friend. Indeed she has told me to be sure and sing Orla's praises in this review. Colin also prepared a fine breakfast every morning and gave us invaluable local knowledge. We had more than ample private space, including the lounge, well stocked with books on the arts, and a whole array of films on request. Great paintings hang from every wall. It is an uplifting and inspiring place to be. We just had a great time and I can't recommend the host and the place highly enough. We will be back for sure. Elizabeth (Irene) and Maxine.

  • This apartment is fantastic. It's very homely and in a fantastic location in Largs. The amenities are superb and the apartment is very clean. It had everything we needed and more. Kenneth is a great host and made the stay very easy. There is plenty of room to park your car along the street. I have seen a couple of negative points about the steep stairs, but me and my partner managed to get up them fine whilst carrying our dogs (Greyhound & Vizsla) we Kenneth kindly let stay at the apartment with us. The shower is lovely and the kitchen has everything you need. There are plenty of takeaways close by if you don't fancy cooking.

    A 2 bedroom, ground floor flat in a traditional Victorian tenement with fantastic sea views overlooking Fairlie Bay. Fairlie is a small commuter villlage about 30 miles away from Glasgow situated on the Firth of Clyde. It is our main home but due to work commitments we stay in Glasgow during the week and when it is rented out with airbnb. There are two double bedrooms, the lounge with a double sofa bed, shower room and fully fitted kitchen.
    The apartment in on the ground floor of a traditional Victorian tenement and has direct access onto the beach from the small private front garden. The views over the Clyde estuary can be amazing on a sunny day and you can sit in the bay window in the lounge watching sailing boats, dogs on the beach, the comings and goings of the port and the spectacular sunsets. There is no TV (the ariel blew down in a storm and we decided we rather liked it without) but there is WiFi throughout, a DAB radio and a record player with a staggeringly bad selection of records for your to listen too. For the less clement days, help yourself to jigsaws and board games to pass the time whilst stoking the open fire and watching the sea. The front bedroom has a king size big and allows you to fall asleep to the sound of the waves. The back bedroom has a double bed and there is also a single fold out bed and a small double sofa bed in the lounge so you can configure your sleeping arrangements as you wish. The kitchen is fully equipped with oven, gas hob, large fridge freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble drier and all the pots, pans, utensils, crockery and cutlery you could need. There is a small internal shower room decorated with my gran's 'saucy' seaside post card collection. As you will probably notice from the photos, the decor and furnishings are somewhat 'retro'; our family have owned the apartment since 1942 and we rather like it like this, but it is important to note that it is not a pristine holiday let but our home full of happiness and memories (and rather a lot of unnecessary retro clutter). However, the views are fantastic, the neighbours wonderful, the beds are new and the shower is powerful and hot!
    Fairlie is a quiet coastal village in North Ayrshire with hourly trains to Glasgow and beyond. It has an excellent pub, The Village Inn, which serves tasty pub food and is less than 5 mins walk away. There is also a roll shop, beauty salon and garage/grocery shop within 10 mins walk.

    I am close to the local Train Station, bus route and the Ferry Terminal should you wish a Sail over to the beautiful and picturesque Island of Cumbrae.

    This secluded residence at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac in a quiet village next to Largs is surrounded by trees and greenery with a large lawn. Within 200 yards of the beach in the village of Fairlie the house is modern and luxurious with solid wood flooring and new carpets. The kitchen is equipped with Siemens appliances and includes ice maker, wine fridge and marble tops. The TV’s in the Lounge and Bedroom 5 have Apple TV, access to Netflix and Prime and Sky Sports and Sky Cinema.
    We hope you will love our house. The fittings and finishes are of top quality and there is no owners clutter anywhere. The house is dedicated to pleasing and providing a quiet, homely atmosphere for our guests. Fairlie train station is approximately 200 yards away as is the beach. The hills behind the property with Fairlie Castle close by again are only 3 minutes away.
    Fairlie is a quiet village on the west coast of Scotland, overlooking the Firth of Clyde, the Isle of Arran and the two islands of Cumbrae. It lies just 2 miles from the town of Largs famous for the Viking Invasion of 1263 celebrated at the Vikingar. There are many quality restaurants, fish and chip shops, cafes such as the famous Nardini's, Kelburn Country Centre, amusements and Largs Yacht Haven the largest marina in Scotland. There is also the ferry terminal for Great Cumbrae and 10 miles south of Fairlie the ferry terminal for Arran and Campbeltown. At the back of the house you can walk up to Fairlie Castle and Southannan Waterfall then just continue up the hills wherever the mood takes you. Golf is everywhere in these parts with Prestwick, Turnberry, Dundonald, Royal Troon and Loch Lomond between 25 and 75 minutes away by car. Within 10 minutes of the house there is Largs Golf Club, West Kilbride Golf Club and Routenburn Golf Club.

  • It's as good as the pictures look, and massive. 2 conservatories, one of which is the biggest I've ever seen, a fully kitted out kitchen, and a quality living room with comfy sofas, a lazy boy, and even sky TV. The master bedroom also has an unreal bathroom, with a walk in shower that was so good everybody in our party had a shot in it. One of us even had a Jacuzzi in the bath. 12 of us came here for 4 nights over New Year and loved it. The house has got plenty of space around it so you're guaranteed privacy, but at the same time its a 1 min walk to the train station, 5 mins to the beach, and maybe 10 to the Village Inn, where we spent Hogmanay in the company of the extremely friendly villagers. Very close to Largs as well, where there's a Morrison's, so you'll not be short of supplies if you're there for a few days. Graham is a great host too, went out of his way to arrange the rooms for us in such a way that the 5 couples that came on our trip could all sleep in double beds in their own rooms. He also gave us recommendations of local bars we could head to to watch the football, very thorough and attentive. We were very happy and comfortable here, all with enough personal space when we needed it but at the same time feeling very cosy when we were all in the house together. Would highly recommend a trip to Fairlie and a stay with Graham for a big group trip!

Cafes are located in the Barony Centre and Cherry Orchard. The Village Chippy, India Cottage and the Regent all provide take away food. During the daytime, snacks can be purchased from the wee deli, the kandy bar bakery and the sweet shop. The Seamill Hydro Hotel, The Waterside Hotel and the Seamill House Hotel are located on the outskirts of the village and all have excellent restaurants. Portencross is a hamlet on the edge of West Kilbride which is home to the Iron Age Portencross Castle which is well worth a visit. Seamill and Portencross have stretches of sandy and rocky beaches which are a 30 minute walk or 5 minutes drive from the property. Ayrshire was the birthplace of Robert Burns so West Kilbride is an excellent base to explore Burns Country.

We were visiting for a wedding taking place at the Waterside and it was very cheap to grab a taxi to/from the venue, and the local village bakery was a great spot to check out for some proper Scottish pies. The apartment itself was a really good size for the two of us, with absolute stunning views out the front and a wonderful green space view to the rear from the living room. There are some special little touches around the apartment which make you forget you're away from home, and help you feel truly looked after. 10/10 we would book again, very happy with our stay.

Only 35 minutes drive from both Glasgow International Airport and Preswick Airport. It is a 55 min. journey by train into the center of Glasgow. Please note: we are on the mainland. You need to take the ferry to go to the island of Arran, bute or Cumrae.
    You have key for your own entrance by the rear patio door. The living room with large smart tv sofa bed and dining table. Bedroom with en-suite. Sole use of a fully equipped spacious kitchen. The town center is a 10 minutes walk.
    It is the rear half of a bungalow in a nice quite area with plenty on street parking with no restrictions.

    Waterside is light and airy with a stunning view from bay windows overlooking Arran and surrounding islands. 5 mins easy walk into town and far enough away to be quieter during busy times. The living room was a great place to watch the world go by and the flat is really handy for everything you need locally, including the famous Crocodile Rock and the fabulous Crocodile Chippy, as well as pubs, bike rental and the Garrison museum which is really worth checking out. The kitchen is small but has everything you need for self catering, Jayne not only provided a few basic supplies but also invited us to use whatever we liked from the cupboards if we needed - we were made to feel very welcome :) We booked the property for 3 people and found it spacious enough, for two it would be very comfortable. The wood burner was also lovely - I'd definitely recommend Jayne's place to anyone visiting Millport.

Towels are provided and there is tea/coffee making facilities in the room. WiFi is available and you can find the password next to the TV. Breakfast is not included in the price but the kitchen and all appliances, microwave, electric double oven and hob, fridge freezer are available to use. I can provide a travel cot. The property is home to two inquisitive but friendly small dogs. This is a no smoking home.
    West Kilbride has a selection of independent craft shops. Beautiful countryside , sea views and beaches and is popular with golfers. The Seamill Hydro and The Waterside Hotel are a 5 minute drive away. Prestwick Airport is 25mins away by car and and 1 hr 30mins by train. Glasgow Airport is 35 mins away by car and 1 hr 15 mins by train. The ferry terminal for Arran is a 10 minute drive away. West Kilbride to Glasgow Central by train is 40 mins.

    Largs is a vibrant, lively town, there's so much to do! The Ferry terminal to Milport is literally across the road from the flat. There is a Leisure centre 5 minute walk away, Kelburn Country Park is a short car ride away, Vikingar, amusements, and the flat is surrounded by shops and bars. So many options of places to eat a stone's throw away from restaurants, to cafes, to chip shops and ice cream shops!

    Welcome to The Mooring in the lovely coastal village of Fairlie on the Clyde. From the large bright windows in the lounge and both double bedrooms, enjoy the peaceful views over the shore-side cottages to the Clyde estuary beyond where yachts sail past. Watch the sunset behind the island of Great Cumbrae. The coastal walk passes the road end at the beach and public transport bus and train can be used to return to Fairlie if walking one way.
    The Mooring is a one-minute walk to the shore and a ten-minute gentle stroll along the shore to the Village Inn where meals are served daily. Sleeps up to 6 people plus infant in two bedrooms (king bed and twin beds which can create a further super king if preferred) and a double sofa bed in the lounge. If only 2 people are booking, either the king bed or twin bed room will me made available please request at time of booking. A travel cot is available for infants at no additional cost upon request at time of booking.. The train station is a ten-minute walk with hourly trains to Glasgow and Largs and the coastal bus stops right outside the Mooring Parking is not available onsite but free parking in lay byes just two minutes’ walk are readily available. (You can park at the main entrance to the apartments whist loading and unloading the car).

    Beautiful 2 bed apartment located on a quiet street within yards of lovely Largs town centre just two minutes from the railway station and minutes to the promenade and the many shops , restaurants and pubs Largs has to offer. All the buses stop in the town centre just next to the railway station and taxi rank just yards from the apartment. If you are travelling by car we have private parking on site for your convienance.
    A communal entrance with secure entry is in place at the apartment. The lounge is furnished to a high specification in a modern style with pleasant aspects towards the town. The bedrooms are beautifully decorated and are of good proportion. The apartment has gas central heating and a modern fully equipped kitchen. The bathroom has a large walk in electic shower.
    Largs is a wonderful base for a holiday if you want to visit Islands and cities alike or just relax by the seaside. My husband and i are reasonably well travelled and would never live anywhere else.

  • Stayed at 10 Bath Street Largs. A lovely little cottage run by host Lindsay. Heating and lamps were on when we arrived. Making it warm and cosy. Beautifully decorated with attention to detail with matching ornaments and throws. On arrival there was a bottle of wine, cake, chocolates and biscuits. In the well equipped kitchen there was bread, jam and marmalade,tea, coffee and milk. We only stayed for two nights but would definitely stay there again, longer. Highly recommend it.

    The house is well situated only 2 minutes walk from the shore line and lovely promenade.

  • FABULOUS LOCATION FOR LARGS TOWN AMENITIES, FERRY TO MILLPORT AND TRAINS AT LARGS STATION. FROM MY BACK BEDROOM I COULD EVEN SEE THE TRAIN WAITING ON THE PLATFORM AND GET TO IT IN LESS THAN 5 MINS. THE FRONT VIEWS HAVE THE SEA AND THE RUSHING LOVELY GOGO RIVER. GREAT BREAKFASTS.

  • I can’t say enough good things about Pica and Tigh An Struan. Such a convenient location-a stone’s throw away from the train station and the shops and pubs, so everything was a short walk away. Pica herself was so sweet and helpful and it’s clear that she really loves her home and wants her guests to as well. I’ll definitely be back in the future.

  • I had a very nice and easy stay. Very close to railway station made it very convenient. Rooms are beautiful and clean. I had the single room, which is quite small but with everything I needed. View on railway station which I quite enjoyed :). Also lovely to habe a common shared space to chill. Great hospitality and lovely breakfast.

    Beautiful, quirky, well equipped Cottage located on the edge of the woods. Boasting it's own Private Garden for Guests and their Pets. Large comfortable Lounge with Dining Area and Log Fire, 3 sofas, TV, DVD, Freeview, Wi-fi, Books and DVDs. Kitchen with everything you need. Washing Machine and small Freezer in Hall. Beautifully fitted new shower room with Walk-in Shower, etc. Upstairs are two double bedrooms, One with double bed and. Second bedroom with two single beds.
    Away from it all in the peace and quiet - only sounds are the songs of the Birds,
    Secluded neighbourhood but minutes from Beaches, Restaurants, Shops and Pubs
  • June and George were great hosts, really understanding and helpful. Millport is a beautiful place to visit and this little cottage is in a great location. It is equipped with everything you need for a trip to the island.

  • What can I say, Just back from staying here and we had a lovely time. The cottage is so cosy and very quiet, surrounded by trees only the chirping of a few birds so very relaxing and peaceful, hard to believe your only a 5 min walk to the main street. June & George were fantastic hosts, nothing was a bother, went above and beyond to make us comfortable. The cottage is just beautiful and the beds so comfortable, Mum kept saying how great a sleep she had and was wanting to take it home. Harris our yorkie had the garden to run about while we relaxed with a glass of wine outside as the weather was so lovely.. Even had our own barbecue which was fab, would highly recommend and will definitely be back Alie,George,Margaret and wee Harris the dog

  • Hobbits Cottage is cute, quaint sparkling clean and in a lovely location. The hosts are so friendly and enthusiastic about life In general which is a pleasure. Nothing would be too much trouble although we didn’t need anything that wasn’t in the cottage.
