With amazing views of the Yorkshire Dales this is a perfect romantic retreat. With battery operated lights and music and big comfy bed you can relax with your loved one. Shower, kitchen area, toilet, settee and dining set. We have also now added a decking area with fire pit/barbecue for outside cooking. Tea and coffee facilities are included. Hot tub situated over the small car park in a private location. You have sole access. A network of paths go through our working farm with river and forest
The treehouse has one main room and a bathroom with shower and toilet. The double bed is very comfortable! Table and chairs for eating and drinking. Kitchen area with 2 ring hob, small oven, fridge, microwave, toaster kettle.. also suppled are tea and coffee etc. Breakfast items are also provided. There are breath taking views of Nidderdale from your tree balcony. The large decking area allows barbecue and dining as the sunsets along side. Across the car park, a stones throw is our therapy suit with hot tub. Every evening our guests have sole access to the hot tub between 6-11pm. It’s in a completely private location. There is a small additional charge for using the hot tub of £25 for a session of up to 5 hours or £40 for 2x 5 hour sessions. We have 2 qualified massage therapists and a therapy suite on site to offer deep tissue or relaxation massage at an additional cost. See additional information.
It's a peaceful location with beautiful walks in every direction and some lovely quirky places to eat. Nidderdale has so much to offer and we are right in the heart of it.. 3 miles from the town of Pateley Bridge... 5 minutes drive or a beautiful walk along the river side. Around Pateley Bridge there are cafes, bars, restaurants, pubs, a leisure centre with swimming pool, Nidderdale Lamas, Bewerley Horse Riding Centre, Brimham Rocks, How Stean Gorge, Stump Cross Caverns, Studfold Aventure Trail and so much more! Cycling- we live in a private mile long road which is not a cycle path. As much as we don’t have an issue with our guests cycling, other business and properties on the lane do. They do have the right to stop you if you meet them on their stretch of the lane on a cycle I’m afraid and have done in past years.
  • The treehouse is situated with scenic views all around. You can expect complete privacy. The host was great, provided step by step travelling instructions and was present on arrival to run through everything. Very approachable and friendly. The treehouse itself was cute and cozy, it really is how it’s described, if not better, I would definitely be returning and have put it down as one of my top ten places to visit!

  • Beautiful space for a quiet weekend away! Treehouse was lovely, even though the storms tried to put us off we enjoyed it nonetheless. Hot tub in the snow was a new experience! Emma is very helpful and welcoming, would very much stay again, although maybe in better weather next time! 😊

    Evelyn2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Emma’s Treehouse was amazing! We had the best time for my boyfriends 30th birthday. On arrival Emma had put up birthday balloons and laid out some lovely birthday touches which my boyfriend loved! Even though it was freezing outside, with the heater on the treehouse was so cosy! On day 1 we got snowed in, but Emma offered any help getting supplies and also lent us sledges which provided LOTS of fun. Emma also invited us to meet and feed the new baby lambs! It was so interesting getting an insight into farm life! Hot tub is also delightful and a lovely extra. We will definitely return!

    Leonie2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • The weekend my other half and I spent in Emma's treehouse was absolutely spectacular. Exactly as advertised, with some extra little touches she had added in. Everything had been so well thought out. As soon as we arrived we were made to feel incredibly welcome and were even invited to feed her newborn lambs. We stayed during the height of a storm and she could not have been more accommodating, offering us alternative accommodation a little more sheltered from the storm if we wished to use it. We had the use of her hot tub in the evenings and were even lent robes to use to get to and from her tub. We are already looking at dates when we can go back and stay again. I could not recommend this place enough. Absolutely fantastic.

    Danielle2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • The treehouse is gorgeous, lots of personal cosy touches. The farm and nearby areas are also very idyllic. Emma’s directions were spot on and we found the place with relative ease. We were unfortunately quite late on arrival, but Emma is extremely gracious and all round diamond. Couldn’t do enough for us, the hot tub and meeting the lambs are top highlights. Incredibly reasonable prices with hindsight too. Would love to come again and would recommend to anyone wanting relaxation and an explore.

    Catherine2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • The treehouse was everything we hoped for and Emma was very accommodating with super quick replies. On our first morning Emma asked if we would like to see the newborn lambs which was very thoughtful, it was incredible and Emma was very informative and warm. We felt very lucky that Emma thought to include us in a part of what life is like at the farm. This was something that I would’ve expected from a paid experience via Air BnB. Emma also provided us with really good suggestions for outings and good food. The Hot tub was also amazing!!! My girlfriend and I would 100% come again. Thanks so much Emma ☺️☺️☺️

    Will2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Emma was a brilliant host and we had a fantastic time staying here for a much needed away from it all break. The treehouse had amazing views of the countryside and the interior was really nice also. The nice touches of breakfast foods that were left for us alongside other stuff was a pleasant surprise and went above our expectations. Due to stormy weather we were offered alternative accommodation for the second night which was situated next to the hot tub which was also gratefully appreciated. The hot tub was excellent as was the afternoon walk along the farm track then along the river into the local town where we enjoyed lunch and a few beers before the relaxing walk back All in all a fantastic place with a fantastic host for which I’d recommend to anyone wanting a lovely romantic chilled out break. Sincere thankyou Andy & Jude

This is Glamping at its best, get away from it all, in this luxury heated Sleepy Squirrel Pod, essentially self catering, modern equipped kitchen, ensuite, luxurious double bed, quality bed linen, bathrobes, towels, blackout blinds. Spend a wonderful weekend in this unique compact Pod with a woodland view + patio. Self contained, and all with key safes for self-checkin! checkout availability other two listings: Snoozy Owl Pod and Cosy Cottontail Studio Apartment.
Enjoy moonlight and star gazing in this Eco pod with all the luxury of a five star apartment! This pod is 6m x 3m and has a compact kitchen, table and chairs for cosy dining, an ensuite bathroom with a double shower, constant supply of hot running water and a mains lavatory, electric radiators, little electric stove and a heated blanket:) In the spirit of "getting away from it all " the pod does not have a TV but I do provide a radio, books and games Please note: that WiFi is available on the front porch of the pod and the surrounding areas, the signal doesn't seem to permeate the 2 layers of solid wood, layer of foil or the wool insulation. If you require full WIFI signal and SKY Catchup TV, see my other listing "King bed with Ensuite and full english breakfast" in the main Lodge. Sleeps 2 adults in a double bed, and there's enough room for another person or child on a zed bed or airbed or cot bed, this fits in at the foot of the double bed. The pod is made of larch wood, and insulated with a good layer or wool, there's also a layer of foil to keep you Cosy and warm, or cool if soaring summer temperatures need to be kept in check... But this is Yorkshire so we live in hope:)) there's a double glazed bespoke circular door and a window to the side overlooking woodland, this provides you with good natural lighting and air circulation. You will find plenty of coat hooks for walking jackets, a single wardrobe with drawers and a hairdryer. There's head height of 2.5m which gives a feeling of space, unlike the great outdoor tents. The pod is self catering, a local supermarket is just a short walk. Although, in the fridge and on the shelves you will find enough milk to make a warm drink or two, orange juice, bread/crumpets, homemade jam and marmalade, butter and a good selection of coffee, tea, biscuits and chocolates to help you relax! These are complimentary just enjoy :) There are plenty of books and a radio in the pod. The pod has a stone patio area with a table and chairs for you to have breakfast or a late night star gazing experience... Guests are asked politely not to smoke, or light candles, the structure is made entirely of wood , therefore for safety reasons naked flames are not allowed under any circumstances . For ambiance I can provide you with some LED flickering tea lights. Guests are free light candles safely on the patio or garden.
The immediate area is extremely quiet and peaceful, my home is adjacent to a woodland, and a very pretty open (not spooky) cemetery with two beautiful Gothic chapels, one faces North and one South, neither of which are used for any ecclesiastical purposes, but have been converted into office space. The cemetery is used regularly throughout the day and into the evening by dog walkers, and walkers wanting to take a leisurely stroll along the river, or cross the bridge to Middleton Woods (known by locals as Bluebell Woods). From the bedroom window squirrels can be seen scurrying up and down nearby trees, rabbits can be watched playing at dawn and dusk and there's also an owl that can sometimes be heard hooting at night. The pod is in my garden with lawns patios, flowerbeds, trees and the sleeping area overlooks the adjacent woodland. My home is near a Yorkshire Water plant, only water is filtered here to produce drinkable clean water, and any odorous waste is removed and treated at a plant 12 miles away. The wind predominantly blows south to easterly along the river Wharfe, which is in the opposite direction of my home and downstream towards Burley in Wharfedale. Ashlands Road is also the home of the award winning micro brewery "Ilkley Brewery" a bottle of Mary Jane is highly recommended! Although the Pod is self catering, I have left you a supply of tea, coffee, biscuits and chocolates, homemade Jam and Cardamom Marmalade, crumpets, fresh milk in the fridge, enough to start your break. The local independent supermarket is just a 5 minute walk away.

A self-contained first floor flat dating from 1822, just a short stroll from the Nidderdale Way. Darley is a beautiful village in the Nidderdale AONB, perfectly situated for exploring the countryside or visiting the nearby bustling spa town of Harrogate, the city of Ripon or "the gateway to the Dales" market town of Skipton. Also just a short drive away are Brimham Rocks, Fountains Abbey and Pateley Bridge and Otley.
The flat, which adjoins our home, is fully equipped with a fitted kitchen including fridge/freezer, washer/dryer, fitted oven and hob. The flat benefits from it own parking space (for 1 car) and private entrance via a small courtyard, to the rear of the main house. We can offer a small selection of provisions (bread, milk, eggs) on arrival by prior arrangement. During your stay you will enjoy easy access to the Nidderdale Way, and River Nidd. The village also has its own heritage walking trail, and recommended walking routes to make the most of your visit. We have a wide selection of leaflets and will be on hand to give you tourism advice during your stay should you require it. The flat comfortably accommodates two people and the bedroom, with Kingsize bed, has a dual aspect with views across the dale and along the village. We are also happy to welcome well-behaved dogs (on agreement in advance for an additional £20 per stay).
Our local village shop has all your essential needs, and we can even arrange for them to hold a copy of your chosen newspaper for you to pick up daily. They also serve light meals and great tea, coffee and cakes. The shop incorporates the post office where you can withdraw cash. The Wellington is our local pub and is located at the other end of the village, serving meals too. Otley and Ilkley are a short drive away and of course the famous Ilkley Moor. Further afield you can explore the Yorkshire Dales and reach the Yorkshire 3 peaks within an hour's drive.
  • Fantastic stay as per usual!

  • The flat is a lovely place to stay in a beautiful and quiet location. Lisa and Jerry were excellent throughout our stay, being really helpful before we arrived, leaving some thoughtful personal touches in the flat and providing some great advice on the local area. The flat has everything you need for a stay and is a great spot to enjoy all of Yorkshire, definitely recommended.

  • Lisa's place is lovely, with views to the dale. Spotlessly clean with warm hosts who were a fount of knowledge on the area. We would have no hesitation in either recommending or returning here. We loved Nidderdale and the surrounds, and it was a great jumping off point for exploration of all the Dales and Moors.

  • Great wee flat in an excellent location. Close to the Nidderdale Way. The Wellington Pub is a 15 minute stroll away and the Sunday roast was a decent standard. The flat was well decorated, kitchen well equipped, and cosy bedroom. I emailed before arrival for some info on local area and got a good response. Jerry met me upon arrival & was helpful and friendly. Doggie & human treats were laid out for us which was a lovely touch. Would recommend this flat as a good base for exploring Nidderdale. Carolyn.

During this difficult time, I am aware there may be people who need to be away from home. If you are looking for somewhere to stay, be assured that you will not risk any close contact with others. Access does not need any interaction between you as guest, and me as host. The bedroom is situated at the top of my family house. Only you will have access to this floor so your bedroom and bathroom are 'self contained' .
Previous guests have commented that the room is very quiet and they have not been disturbed in any way. The bed is a small double and there is wardrobe, with hangers, and drawer space for your personal items. There is a reasonable desk area which is useful if you need a space to work from and wifi is available . Tea and coffee making facilities are available in the room. The bathroom comprises of a shower and toilet. Clean towels are always provided and there is a small selection of toiletries available if you find you have forgotten something.
The property is situated in a popular residential location well served by the shops and services of Starbeck. The railway station is a five minute walk, giving easy access to Leeds and York. There is a very frequent bus service that will take you directly into Harrogate. The buses run approximately every 7 minutes and the journey into Harrogate itself takes 10 minutes. Many guests who stay, come because of the Conference Centre or to attend events at the Yorkshire Showground. Both venues are easy to reach and are only a short distance away

  • I received a warm welcome from Jess into her lovely home. My room was light and airy, clean and quiet. The bed was soooo comfortable and I slept very well. There is no television in the room, which was fine for me as I enjoyed the space to relax and be quiet, however the wifi is fast and reliable (I had some computer work to do) so I could have watched films etc on my laptop had I wished to. There is a modern, clean, shared bathroom with a large shower unit, and plenty of hot water. The whole house is toasty warm and set in a lovely location - with a parking space! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Jess' place to other travellers.

  • A charming cottage perfectly located for a romantic weekend away full of walking and exploring the local area. Highly recommend.

  • You could not find a more beautiful location to stay. The cottage was a perfect base and was exactly what was needed. To come back from a hike and get the log burner going was lovely.

    Francis2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay at Peters place in Grewelthorpe over Christmas. As has been mentioned in previous reviews, the cottage is indeed basically in the pub car park, but this was not a problem during our stay. We were never disturbed by anyone using the pub. The cottage was fine for us and everything was functioning as it should. We would certainly stay here again.

The End Place is a self-contained cottage adjoining Moorhouse Cottage B&B. Downstairs is open plan, comprising a fully equipped kitchen and a living area with wood burning stove. A glass wall ensures uninterrupted views across Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, as well as starry-night skyscapes. Upstairs opens out into a magical, fairy-lit, vaulted bedroom with a king size brass bed adorned with crisp White Company linen and includes en suite with shower.
The End Place is part of a collection of buildings that were added to an 18th century worker's cottage over the course of a little more than a hundred years and now comprise Moorhouse Cottage. The recent conversion for use as accommodation has retained or re-used original features wherever possible, while ensuring modern standards of comfort. Surrounded by rugged moor and hill-farm land, it's an ideal place to get away from it all, while still having excellent access to local attractions such as Fountains Abbey, The Yorkshire Dales National Park and Brimham Rocks, which marks the far horizon when looking out from the front of the house.
Just down the hill is Pateley Bridge (Great British High Street Awards, village winner - 2016), where you can stock up on award winning homemade pies, bread and cake, or wet your whistle in one of the local pubs. Or, if you prefer, a short walk directly from our door along the Bewerley Industrial Heritage Trail brings you to Coldstones Cut, where you can explore Yorkshire’s highest public sculpture, created by Andrew Sabin, overlooking a working Quarry and with spectacular views over Nidderdale and the landscape beyond. Finish your walk by tasting the delights on offer at Toft Gate Barn Cafe, with delicious homemade dishes and a warm Yorkshire welcome from Caroline and Chris. Or simply relax and enjoy the antics of the alpacas and other animals on this unique and quirky small holding. Within 30 minutes you could be enjoying the delights of the spar town of Harrogate, the cathedral town of Ripon, or Ilkley with its own literary and film festivals. Fountain’s Abbey (a World Heritage Site), Brimham Rocks and Stump Cross Caverns are also a must. Or simply get on your bike (this is the land of the Tour de Yorkshire) or put on your walking boots and explore the outstanding beauty of the Dales.
  • Amazing place to stay. The cozy rural setting with the wood burning fire was ideal. Plenty of walks and the shops were only 10 minutes away. Would definitely go again.

    Rhodri2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Me and my partner had the best long weekend here, from feeding the sheep and alpaca’s to walking around the beautiful reservoirs near by. The end place is a beautiful clean and thoughtfully modernised get away with everything you could need for a comfortable and really memorable stay. Really hope to return again soon!

    James2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful and relaxing place to be! Loved every minute.

    Ashley2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful few nights staying at The End Place. We felt really lucky to see it in the snow - it felt magical! The animals are a delight, we loved putting the ducks to bed and opening the door to their little house each morning, plus we loved feeding Al & Paco (the two alpacas!) carrots. The position of The End Place is absolutely beautiful and it really is the perfect cottage to retreat to after a day's walking in the dales. The welcome hamper was so thoughtful and Jules even made us a cup of tea when we arrived with fruit cake and Wensleydale (a Yorkshire classic!). We will definitely be back again soon :)

    Emma2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • My second visit to The End Place. Such a great place to step off from the busyness of the world, hunker down, watch the natural world from your window, read books and rest. Highly recommended. You can also feed alapaca 😀

    Claire2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • If you're looking for a quiet escape in an amazing hidden corner of the Dales, get yourself down to The End Place. You'll be greeted every morning by ducks and chickens and there's even a good chance to feed Alpacas and sheep. What's not to like? If you want to explore or just spend a whole weekend cooped up inside, you won't regret it. The hosts are amazing and very friendly and will make you feel at home from the moment you arrive to the second you leave.

    Alejandro2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Well what can I say, what an unbelievable experience me and my partner had staying here! It's such a little gem! We stayed for a week for our 2 year anniversary and it was perfect. The end place was absolutely spotless with great thoughtful touches, the welcome basket with bread, eggs, fruit cake, tea, coffee and jam to even having dressing gowns and wellies for you to wear. The different areas to explore around the area are great such as coldstones cut, brimham rocks, malham cove and many more! The hosts gave us so much information about different walks in the area, cafes/restaurants and places to visit! We couldn't of wished for more, absolutely perfect hosts! The end place is gorgeous, I would recommend this place to anyone! Thank you again Trevor and Jules! Hopefully we'll be back soon!

    Natalie2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • The End Place was exactly what we needed - some peace and quiet to recharge but also an excellent base for exploring the area. The cottage is cosy with a fantastic view over the valley and surrounding Dales. Jules and Trevor were brilliant hosts, providing tips on local places to visit and the friendliest neighbours we could ask for. A particular highlight of our stay was feeding and getting to know the alpacas, ducks, chickens and sheep. We will be back!

Towels, bath soak and shampoo provided.
The house is very close to the world heritage site at Fountains Abbey. Ripon, just a few minutes away, is a lovely market town with a beautiful cathedral and wonderful market square where every evening you can witness England’s oldest unbroken tradition of the Hornblower ‘closing’ Ripon for the night. Harrogate is just a short drive away with its fabulous clothes boutiques and world famous ‘Betty’s Tearoom’. Also nearby are Ripely Castle with its renowned ice-cream and Pateley Bridge and the gateway into the Yorkshire Dales.
  • Tom's place is a beautiful country house providing a perfect getaway for peace and relaxation yet within easy access of Harrogate and Ripon. Our hosts were completely unobtrusive whilst also being available to assist us if required. We spent lovely evenings with a glass of wine in front of a roaring log fire. Absolute bliss.

  • I loved the look of this place on the Air BNB website but pictures can’t do it justice, it’s beautiful! As soon as i arrived i was greeted by Sarah who made me feel very welcome, I had some work to do that evening so she lit a fire for me in the front room and offered tea and coffee. The room was great, very clean and i loved the original decor! I would recommend this gem to anyone that is looking to stay in the area, i will definitely stay again when i’m next that way! Dan

  • Martyn’s house is warm and comfortable, much like the hospitality. He has a great way of being entertaining and communicative without being intrusive, always a warm welcome and a smile. It’s a short flat walk into town, and I always found somewhere to park on his street, which is a cul de sac so it’s nice and quiet, I recommend him, but not for the Knitting and stitch, coz I will be there for that !

The room is comfortable and clean with the extra bonus of kettle, water, tea/coffee and a snack! Jean was welcoming and super responsive to messages when I had to find a place to stay last minute. • I have stayed at Jean’s place 3 times this month. The standard has not dropped. I would say she kept improving. Her room is a lovely place to stay in with everything you need inside. She has two lovely dogs. Cleans toilets and bathroom. It’s not too bad getting into town there is a bus stop just outside the house. There is free street parking with access to local shops and Chinese take away. Good value for money.

  • Jean is a great host and the room itself is very pleasant and cozy. Jean also provided a tea / coffee / snacks tray which gave me a nice " self contained " feeling. She also recommended Dougie's Fish Bar around the corner which served me the biggest fish portion I've ever seen !!. I can certainly recommend Jean's place.

  • We are a family of 8 (age ranging from 1 year - 70 years) and had a great time at this beautiful barn. The barn is just as described and exactly like the photos. The barn is in a fantastic location, very close to Brimham Rocks, Fountain Abbey and Harrogate. We had arranged for grocery delivery but also found a local Co-op only 12 mins drive from the barn. Lots of farm shops with cafes nearby too. We went out for a meal at 'The Station Hotel' (one AA Rosette awarded) from owners recommendation and the food was delicious! Thank you for a wonderful stay!

    Catherine2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • This barn is amazing, it's ideal for large party of people we stayed with 12 for my 50th birthday weekend. The barn is high class throughout, beautifully clean with an open living room space and plenty of sofas. Great log burner and fire place, which makes the room impressive. The large bi - folding doors allow you to make the best of the amazing view. The decor throughout the barn is tasteful and elegant but extremely comfortable. Nice touch with the throws for the sofas. The bedrooms are large and comfortable with enough bathrooms for all. 2 ensuites the large master is an amazing space with luxurious furniture and outstanding en suite. The Jacobs ladder is cool, a very large room and guests can use the down stairs cloakroom in the dining area. We were super warm in February, roaring fire as well and we used the hot tub which was brilliant, enough room for 8 comfortably. There is a small shop at the post office and a park. We had 3 dogs who loved the enclosed garden and the playing field at the post office to run on. The Wellington pub was welcoming with great food. All in all a super stay in a beautiful barn. Highly recommended.

Its a large apartment for two people, the local village has some great pubs, coffee shops and a train station 5-10 mins walk away. Dogs are always welcome but be reassured that the place is cleaned to a high standard in between each guest stay.

Tiplady is a small farm with great views and a place where everything is just a little quirky. The Highland Hideaway is a traditional shepherd's hut set by a stream in a small wooded valley. The hut is cosy with a wood burning stove and has a small sitting out area . The toilets and showers are adjacent to the hut and there is a handy fridge, in a telephone box, just outside. Located close to the Nidderdale Way, Tiplady Farm is perfect for walkers and cyclists or simply somewhere to escape to
Most of our guests agree that Tiplady is different, most important of course is a warm welcome and friendly owners willing to help out with local knowledge of places to visit and where to eat. On top of that we love unusual stuff such as our sheep's head carved from an old tree stump, vintage signs and and old Shell petrol pump to light your way. Usually there are a few old cars, lorries or motorbikes around the place and if you like rare breeds, we have Highland cattle and Herdwick sheep (both Viking breeds). You are also welcome to meet with our working horses if time permits. To help you enjoy your break, you have a choice of places to prepare food on site, there's a barbecue area by the Victorian waterwheel, a hilltop shelter with stunning views and a fire pit or there are plenty of amazing places to eat locally. We provide basic firewood for the hut and for a small charge a BBQ, camping gas stove or a fuel efficient rocket stove to cook on. In winter months it is advisable to bring wellies and a torch. Being remote, Tiplady is a pretty safe place but if you'd like, we can lock your bikes, canoes or pretty much anything else up in one of our barns.
We are in the heart of Nidderdale so plenty of walking and cycling routes. Close by you have Brimham rocks and Fountains Abbey both of which are National trust sites. Within driving distance you have Ripon, Harrogate, York, Skipton and Grassington. Pateley Bridge is only a mile away and has a variety of shops meaning you can pick up all the supplies you need. Why not have a visit to the Oldest Sweet shop whilst you are here.
  • Hut was warm, cosy, comfy and clean. The shower block was immaculate and warm. The host was welcoming every time we saw them and had great knowledge of the local area. Already looking at dates to book again. If your looking at staying in a shepherds hut in York i can highly recommend this place.

  • What an unusual little getaway. Perfect for our short stay, love the fridge location :-) lovely underfloor heating in shower block.

  • We loved our stay at TipLady Farm! Everyone was so friendly and welcoming and could not do enough for us. The location is stunning and we needed a break to get away and clear our minds - if this is you, book it! You will not regret it. It is so dog friendly and our little dog even made friends with the puppy on the farm :) we will definitely be back!

  • The shepherd's hut is a lovely space in a wonderful farm setting - almost like a small village. We had a great time here, and enjoyed playing with the friendly cats in particular.

  • Gorgeous location and hut even in November rain! We got shown the vintage motorbikes and the restored circus wagon and we're given lots of useful information for getting around. Thoughtful touches like a set of fairylights tucked in with the cutlery helped me make a birthday surprise that much better. We walked to brimham rocks and then to the pub, was ideal!

  • I can't rate this high enough, Andrew was home and offered to help me carry my things in. He was so friendly and made sure I was comfortable, there was sky TV, I had a cup of tea, it was sparkling clean, the place was the perfect temperature and the bed was so comfy. Highly recommend - and the breakfast the next morning was gorgeous, I highly recommend Andrew's home. Thank you again Andrew!

  • Andrew's home is warm and welcoming. Nothing is too much trouble for him and the house has everything you need. I felt very safe and comfortable, which is important to me particularly when travelling alone. I liked that the house is very obviously a family home and that his grandchildren visit, even though I wasn't there at those times. It made it feel like a home from home. Andrew is very friendly and respectful. Thanks Andrew!

It really was exactly what we needed it to be ... “ a little haven to come & get away from it all “. The Courtyard Cottage is perfect for couples who just want to get away from the rush of real life. Set in the tiny hamlet of Timble but close to Harrogate and Skipton. 'Affordable Luxury' is our ethos. Our focus and attention has always been our guests comfort. Beautiful decor, cosy and comfortable, gorgeous bedding to name but a few. A great location also for walking from the doorstep, cycling and fishing. Oh we even have an award winning pub/restaurant a stones throw away!
Formerly a tailors workshop back in the 1800's, then the school teachers house for the village school, next my son's bedrooms/bathrooms etc., then finally back to it's original intention in 2013, a pretty Yorkshire stone cottage. Our conversion was simple,we just put back what belonged and now we have a fabulous mix of contemporary and traditional features for you to enjoy. The upstairs bedroom is full of light during the day and the lounge is calming and cosy by the log burner in the evening after a long day enjoying the Yorkshire countryside. Luxuriate in the beautiful bathroom or watch a selection of movies - provided for your enjoyment. Full self catering facilities are in the well equipped kitchen or you can stroll down to the village award winning pub/restaurant for your meal. The cottage has a private pretty garden for sitting outside after a busy day exploring the Dales.
The cottage is situated in a beautiful hamlet of Timble. There are 26 houses, set in an Area of Outstanding Natural beauty, with a chapel, village hall and probably the best pub/restaurant in the area. You only need to walk a hundred yards to get to it. A perfect location if you like walking or cycling as most routes start from your doorstep. We like to describe ourselves as being in the 'middle of everywhere' but equally in a quiet rural location with views to die for. You can easily and quickly reach Harrogate, Skipton, Ilkley, Otley, Ripon, Pateley Bridge, Knaresborough and The Yorkshire Dales National Park.
  • Perfect place for a getaway in gorgeous countryside. We walked to the reservoir and enjoyed the lambs skipping around the fields. Definitely recommend.

  • Beautiful cottage, lovely relaxing break

    Bethany2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is absolutely lovely, so quiet, private and peaceful. We enjoyed our time throughly. Close enough to Leeds to have a day out shopping but far enough away from everything to be totally relaxed. Lots of walking and cycling routes close by and the cottage itself is so cosy, we felt very at home. We will be visiting again when we get the chance. Thank you for hosting.

    Natasha2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed here for a lovely few days with our baby. Dawn was a very warm and welcoming host, and checked us in herself. The little touches were a fantastic welcome. Fresh flowers and wine were awaiting when we walked in. The cottage is very cosy with plenty of space for a couple and a baby. The log burner makes for a very cosy evening. The bath was fantastic! The cottage is very well positioned to get out to the dales and Otley and Harrogate are a short drive away. The Ivy is a must visit if you go to Harrogate. We were so sad to leave and will definitely be back!

    Peter2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • This is a perfect little cottage in the picturesque village of Timble and is perfect for a quiet and cosy getaway. Dawn was a wonderful host, extremely responsive and helpful throughout our stay. The cottage has little added touches to make your stay feel extra special - the dressing gowns were wonderful! The nearby Timble Inn does a fantastic Sunday lunch, there are lovely walks that you can do right from the doorstep, and Harrogate and Knaresborough are nearby for trips out. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the cottage and will definitely be back for another visit...

    Anna2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic place! Beautifully presented and had everything you need for a few nights away. Perfect for a base to go and explore nearby towns (we will be back for the walks - the weather was not amazing!). Host was very friendly, greeted us on arrival and showed us around the property. Some lovely touches to the place, will stay again!

    Charlotte2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • We arrived on a horrible cold, wet, windy night in the middle of a storm to a toasty warm cottage with a roaring wood fire already lit for us by Dawn. She was on hand to show us the cottage and answer our questions. We had a lovely stay and would definitely go back again!
