Places to stay in Dalgety Bay
Lovely, bright, quiet room on the top floor of a modern apartment block on the seafront in Granton Harbour 3 miles north of the centre of the city. Well connected by buses and walking routes, free parking, magnificent views. Continental breakfast included and free wifi. We also live in the apartment. Guests use the main bathroom and we use our own ensuite. Guests have access to the kitchen, dining and living areas. Sometimes if we have visitors they will also use the main bathroom.
Lovely big room (Approx 17' x 11') with private balcony in top floor penthouse with superb views overlooking the Forth. The apartment is the only flat on the top floor of the building. It is modern build, completed in 2011, with three bedrooms, two bathrooms and an open plan lounge kitchen diner. The apartment is well insulated, double glazed and cosy and warm even when the weather is terrible. Free Wifi. The room comes with reading lamp, LED television, fitted wardrobe, armchair, hair dryer and free wifi. Underfloor heating with individual temperature controls in each room. The bathroom is directly outside the room with shaver point and over the bath shower. Towels and breakfast supplied - the bathroom is not exclusive use as it is shared between two bedrooms so you would only have exclusive use if there is no guest in the other room. Let us know if you have any dietary requirements and we will try to cater accordingly. The lounge is very comfortable with large screen TV, dining table, open plan kitchen and wraparound balcony with further panoramic views of the Firth of Forth and North Sea. Outside dining is possible in fine conditions (see pic) The apartment is in a quiet part of Edinburgh, three miles from the city centre. There is ample free parking outside and buses run regularly into the city from a bus stop two minutes walk away. There are lots of walks in the area and beautiful beaches and parkland to explore just a few minutes away. We moved here from the city centre and love the peace and tranquility. There are supermarkets and shops about 10 minutes walk away or two minutes by car as well as a variety of take-away food outlets. Restaurants and pubs are slightly further afield with a massive selection available the nearer you get to the city centre. Other nearby attractions include the Royal Botanic Gardens, Royal Yacht Britannia, Cramond Island, Ocean Terminal, Old Town and New Town World Heritage Sites. Buses run from right outside the apartment. The 47 goes to the city centre in about 20 minutes and through the West End to the south of the city. The 24 runs on Sundays to the City Centre. Other buses run from a stop 5 minutes walk away at Granton Square and go all over the city. Bus fares are £1.60 for a single journey or £4 for a day pass on all Lothian buses. Exact fare only - no change given. Lothian buses website is a great resource and the Transport for Edinburgh app for iphone and android provides bus arrival and departure information from your local bus stop in real time, sells tickets and allows you to use your phone as your bus ticket. Edinburgh is fantastic for getting around on bikes. Sustrans has a great website and maps of all the dedicated bike routes. On the whole Edinburgh is a very safe city and there are no unsafe areas. That said it is sensible to take the usual precautions when out alone particularly at night or when withdrawing cash from ATMs. The apartment makes a great base for exploring the rest of Scotland. Oban and Fort William can be reached by car in approximately 3 hours and Inverness and Loch Ness in about 4 hours. Scottish money is interchangeable with Bank of England money - all notes are accepted everywhere in Scotland. It is very unusual for Scottish money not to be accepted in England although this can occasionally happen. This apartment is a fantastic place to stay in the City of Edinburgh and still feel the freedom of the outdoors and freshness of the sea air. We hope you will enjoy your visit. Dan and Alex. LGBT friendly and all are welcome here.
The neighbourhood is on the coast about 3 miles from the City Centre. There isn't much else in the direct vicinity. A couple of shops two minutes walk away and more local shops and takeaways 10 minutes walk away. Lots of walks and cycleways in the area. Nearest pub is approx 20 mins walk. We have hundreds of rabbits and lots of other wildlife can be seen from the flat. Foxes, birds, hawks and sometimes if you are lucky seals and whales.
  • Amazing flat with superb hospitality, highly recommended.

  • Fantastic location and lovely and clean. Couldn't ask for better for our stay during a work conference.

  • For starters, Agie is the best host! She communicates & checks-in with you all the days leading up to your arrival to make sure everything is perfect for when you arrive. She provided my friends & I with the best local recommendations of places to eat, things to do & transit options. Ok , now for the apt, it’s absolutely breathtaking! It’s just like the pictures but even better in person. It’s decorated as if you are staying in an art studio, minimal but makes a statement. The apartment is very clean & has everything you need for your stay including Netflix 😉 and there are so many windows so the lighting is great. Trust me , once you stay here you will wish you could stay longer 💛

    Jackie2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Fabulous, central apartment. Agie was super helpful host and we had a fantastic stay. I would definitely stay again.

    Chloe2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • What a great stylish warm comfortable spotless flat. All the things you may need to hand. Situated with many amenities near by . We especially loved the Mexican just up the street called ‘The basement’ fabulous. Easy walk to Stockbridge which is well worth a wander to. There is lots to see and do in Edinburgh and easy access to safe luggage store at Waverley Station/Mall in between checkouts and travel. Agie could not have been more attentive with support and details would definitely recommend.

    Sue2020-02-20T00:00:00Z

Beautiful two bedroom, two bathroom mews house with private garage for parking. Located on a quaint, cobbled street tucked away in the heart of Stockbridge, Edinburgh. The house has recently been refurbished to a high standard. It is well located and is just a 2 minute walk from the fantastic cafes, restaurants and shops of leafy, bustling Stockbridge and a 15 minute walk from central Edinburgh. The house is a real "home away from home" and is light, warm, cosy and comfortable.
The property is on two floors. Upstairs is a large, open plan kitchen dining sitting room with high ceilings and velux windows that let the light flood in. There is a large dining table plus bar stools on the counter in the kitchen. Downstairs there are 2 bedrooms, both with king sized beds. There is also a shower room and a bathroom with a power shower over the bath and underfloor heating. The property also has a private garage for parking. The kitchen is well equipped with dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, hob, oven, microwave and large fridge freezer. There is fast wifi throughout plus Sky TV and Apple TV. High quality bedding and bath towels are provided. We also provide a travel cot and high chair for guests with kids and there are some toys in the toy box.
Dean Park Mews is situated in Stockbridge, just north of the city centre. It’s one of Edinburgh’s most popular and charming areas and was recently voted by the Sunday Times as the best place to live in Scotland. It has a really fun vibe with lots of great restaurants, cafes, bars and independent shops and has a long history of style and individual flair, highlighted also by a Times’ newspaper poll which listed it amongst Britain’s Top 30 ‘coolest’ places. It’s a beautiful spot and, as one of the greenest areas of Edinburgh, Stockbridge has a real village feel to it despite being only a 15 minute walk to the centre of Edinburgh. The Water of Leith flows through Stockbridge, and there are some very pretty walks along it, and the world class Royal Botanic Gardens are just a few minutes walk away. Inverleith Park is just across the road, which has brilliant views over the castle and a great children's playground. Stockbridge is also where the first ever international rugby match was played. The match took place between Scotland and England on the 27th March 1871. It's a beautiful spot to explore during a weekend break to Edinburgh.
  • Lovely peaceful location but within easy walking distance of the city centre. Spotlessly clean. Well equipped kitchen. Pint of milk in the fridge and toiletries in the bathroom a thoughtful extra. Would definitely recommend the house to others.

    Kirsty2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Loved this cottage which was spacious and immaculate throughout with the added bonus of a decent size garage as no street parking in the area. We would happily return and I highly recommend this Airbnb.

  • What an amazing property! This property is stylish and nipping clean. The location is just perfect, a lovely 10 minute stroll into the centre of Edinburgh. The added bonus of a garage so no parking headaches. Local shops, cafes and pubs. The communication with the host is excellent and there is plenty of information to help you enjoy your stay.

  • This is a superb place to stay in the heart of Stockbridge. The house is of a very high standard, good bathrooms and very comfortable beds makes all the difference. Dean Park Mews is a very quiet location but a short walk takes you into Stockbridge where there is everything you need. Beautiful en-suite room in a 200 year old flat with all modern comforts. I'm an artist so you will see some of my paintings on the walls amongst others. The flat is grand, quirky and relaxing.
High ceilings with chandeliers makes this flat extra special. There are working shutters, original fireplaces and floorboards. Historical flat in the World Heritage New Town. The flat's on the second floor with no lift so two flights of stairs to climb. I am there whenever you would like to give guidance and recommend all the fantastic places nearby. Being a World Heritage site, as you can imagine, the area is extremely beautiful and a destination in it's self. At the end of the road is Broughton Street with lots of independent shops, cafés, bars and restaurants. At the top of Broughton Street, about 5 minutes walk away is the tram terminus straight to the airport. Waverley Station is a 15 minute walk away.

  • Great location! Insanely cool place to stay, tessa was on hand whenever we needed her but also gave us privacy over in the west wing of this gigantic place! Felt very cosy and at ease, would recommend to anyone!

  • Tessa herself and her place are absolute gems! One of my favorite places, if not favorite, I've stayed. Her flat is unbelievably beautiful and she is the kindest, sweetest, most accommodating host I've ever had. She is BEYOND lovely! And the location is perfect! I will definitely be returning and hopefully staying longer. Thank you, Tessa!

  • Definitely the most beautiful airbnb I've ever stayed in! Tessa was really welcoming and the flat was in a great location. Can't wait to stay again!

    Rachel2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • It is an indescribably beautiful and clean accommodation. The whole apartment has a stunning charm and Tessa is a helpful person who always has a tip. We would always recommend the accommodation to friends. The location is perfect! In the middle of the city but still quiet. We will be back!

    Kim2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place and Tessa was super friendly! The tipps were also really helpful. And she baked the best bread ever!

    Vera2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay. The flat was very convenient being a 10 minute walk from the station, with a shop on the corner and a range of eating places in the adjacent street. The room was warm and we loved the quirky decorations and big comfortable bed. The bathroom was amazing with a big walk in shower and we especially enjoyed the homemade bread for breakfast!

    Susan2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Tessa’s place was beautiful, even better than the photos! Conveniently located, and so many thoughtful extras from Tessa like fresh bread every morning and a late check out. Thank you so much Tessa for a fantastic stay!

    Claire2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Tessa's space is stunning- beautifully decorated, cozy, and in the heart of Edinburgh's new town. It was incredibly easy to get to via tram from the airport and is perfectly situated to walk everywhere. We would stay here again in a heartbeat. Unless you're planning on venturing quite far, everything is walkable from here- not to mention all the historical sites and small eateries not far from your doorstep! Everything was incredibly clean throughout the space-in the kitchen area there are small nibbles, in addition to tea & coffee provided for the morning should you feel a bit peckish. Tessa is also super kind and has great recommendations/books/maps to suit whatever your vibe is for city exploring. We had a wonderful time. Thank you Tessa!

Wake up refreshed in the sun-yellow bed at this Georgian Mews with a retro vibe, a perfect fit for this historic city with a modern outlook. Nestled in the heart of the New Town, the peaceful, light, cozy space has hardwood floors, and exposed stone.
10b Gloucester lane is a complete self contained Georgian mews house located right in the heart of Edinburgh’s historic New Town, and it is so handy for walking to most of the main sights, being only 10mins walk from the city centre and train stations. Yet the surrounding area is so peaceful and quiet and comfortable with everything you should need while you are here.
This beautiful home is located on Gloucester Lane which is tucked in a quiet corner of Edinburgh’s New Town. It's a five-minute walk to both Princes Street and Stockbridge and about a 10-minute walk to the city centre and train stations.
  • A wonderful place to stay. Very convenient whilst being very peaceful. Very cosy and comfortable and extremely well equipped. Would definitely stay here again when next in Edinburgh.

This sumptuous property has been completely renovated to the highest standards. It is luxurious, warm, homely, unique and offers the latest in mod cons. Perfect for any trip to Edinburgh. Just a short walk to all the cities' main attractions in the City Centre, Leith, Old & New Town. Our apartment is surrounded by trendy, quality cafes, restaurants & bars. A great base for exploring all Edinburgh has to offer! The flat is central yet quiet and peaceful and can be your sanctuary...
There are two bedrooms both with kingsize beds, a family bathroom with a rainfall shower and bath, a second toilet room, a modern & spacious open plan kitchen and dining area with a door to our private patio garden. The lounge is a comfortable place to relax after a long day of sightseeing. It has large windows street side to a private forecourt. The bedrooms overlook a quiet garden to the rear and a private forecourt to the front with large windows in each. Both bedrooms have new John Lewis king sized beds with top quality linen and towels and wardrobes. There is a baby cot as well.
Since my boyhood, I have watched the surrounding area transform into a place bursting with trendy & delicious restaurants, charming cafes and unique shops… everything is walk-able and ideal for the Fringe Festival. The New Town has some of the finest and least spoiled Georgian architecture in Britain and continues to be one of the most popular residential areas in Edinburgh. Leopold Place sits within a lively and varied cultural neighborhood. It is right in the heart of all our city has to offer: art galleries, specialist shops, the famous Lyon & Turnbull auction rooms and Edinburgh's premier comedy venue, The Stand are all nearby. The National Portrait Gallery and main shopping areas of George Street, Princes Street, as well as Edinburgh Playhouse and the Omni Centre and its cinemas are all just round the corner. You are close to the delights of bohemian Broughton Street offering a plethora of outstanding restaurants, delicatessens, cafes and pubs. There are great opportunities for interesting walks to Calton Hill, Arthur’s Seat, Holyrood and the Castle, the Old Town, and not much further afield are the highly acclaimed Royal Botanic Gardens and walkways alongside the Water of Leith. We are also conveniently placed for Edinburgh’s central business district and the Scottish Parliament and University buildings are all within easy reach. Whatever time you arrive there are a couple of local mini-markets with a couple of minute's walk. There is a large supermarket slightly further away - a longer walk or a short cab/uber ride.

  • Paul's apartment is conveniently located by Calton Hill, very central and within walking distance to many attractions, shops and restaurants. The apartment is very comfortable with floor heating which kept the place very warm, great to come home to after being out in cold Edinburgh winter. We especially loved the big open kitchen/dining room which led out to a lovely back garden perfect for hanging out on drier days.

  • We really enjoyed our stay here! Beautifully decorated, comfortable and WARM apartment (that last part was very key for an autumn stay in Edinburgh :) it was spotlessly clean, and very spacious for 2 couples. Easy to find, and the laundry was great after our 2 week trip in Scotland. Easy to grab a bus or walk to the sites, and one of the best restaurants in Edinburgh was right across the street! Comfy bed, hot shower, and lovely kitchen for cooking in...really can’t fault anything. Would stay again on my next trip to Edinburgh

    Kirsten2019-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • We were lucky enough to stay in Paul’s amazing home away from home in Edinburgh. His attention to detail from the fluffy white towels to the quality beds and Linen is 2nd to none. The home is tastefully renovated and furnished and is in the perfect location to visit all of what Edinburgh has to offer. In addition Paul provides you with a comprehensive guide of all the attractions in Edinburgh with handy discount codes. The overall experience was truly five-star and above our expectations we look forward to coming back to stay on our next visit to the city.

The location: In the heart of vibrant Stockbridge on St Stephen Place. The apartment is surrounded by amazing independent cafes, bars, restaurants and shops. A short walk to the city centre, old town/festival venues. Perfect location for a quiet, central stay in Edinburgh! The space: There is a great sized lounge, sunny dining kitchen & king sized bedroom with en-suite shower. Full of charm!
The flat is a 1st floor, 1 bedroom apartment, brilliantly located at the top end of Stockbridge, within a 10 mins walk of George Street and Edinburgh's city centre. Stockbridge enjoys the best of Edinburgh's bars and restaurants, it has a friendly village vibe despite being a stones throw from Edinburgh's main central attractions. The stunning Botanical Gardens and Inverleith Park are all very close by. Perfect for a romantic stroll, a jog or a trip with kids to the park. The flat is set back from one of Stockbridge's highlights- St Stephens Street- a speciality shopping street, with quirky one off shops, antique shops, beauty salons and some treasures of small eateries, tucked in the basements. Two of Edinburgh's most infamous traditional bars are on the street- the Bailey and the Antiquary- where you can enjoy a proper Auld Scottish pub (with a selections of fine ales and whiskey and regular folk music nights). But whilst there is an active community on your doorstep, the flat is set back on St. Stephens Place so you can enjoy a quieter time and a good nights sleep. The flat is best suited for 2 people but has a comfortable 'proper' sofa bed for 2 extra guests in the lounge if required. It is equipped with everything you need for a short or long stay. It would suit a business traveller for a longer stay very well. In contrast to the view over to St. Stephens Street in the living room, the kitchen overlooks a quiet courtyard at the back and is lovely and sunny in the evening. Perfect to enjoy a glass of wine and meal following a hard days work or touring the city. The flat is the perfect base to introduce you to all that fabulous Edinburgh has to offer. Please note that Hen and Stag parties are not accepted.
Edinburgh is exploding with life during the famous Festival Fringe and the New Year Hogmanay party. However there is so much more to Edinburgh, making it an ideal all year round holiday destination. The apartment is in the heart of Stockbridge, just to the North of the City's central New Town - and there is plenty to see and do right on your doorstep. Stockbridge has its own market every Sunday, with premium local produce and Scottish crafts. It also has its own annual Stockbridge Festival for 9 days at the end of June and the famous charity duck race where 1000 ducks are launched into the Water of Leith, which winds it's way through the area. It is an area that has traditionally attracted creative professionals. It houses the coveted ' Stockbridge Colonies', 11 parallel streets built to provide housing for the artisan class working on Edinburgh's flamboyant New Town Mansions. As such, whilst lesser in scale the buildings of Stockbridge were generously detailed by this highly skilled community of craftsmen with ornate cornicing, Georgian sash windows and stunning quality architectural features. There are many fabulous cafes, restaurants and bars in the area, and plenty of takeaways for business travellers- a choice for every taste. Inverleith Park, The Botanical Gardens and the Water of Leith are all within 5 minutes offering stunning backdrops for a stroll, jog or picnic. The flat is just off St Stephen Street, a curving Georgian street of flats with the basements and ground floors accommodating a series of antique shops, bars and offices. St Stephens Place is a small spur on its north side, it once lead to the old Stockbridge Market, of which the original entrance stone archway still stands which the flat overlooks. At the end of St Stephens Street, the St Stephens Street Church is a prominent Edinburgh Landmark, designed by Architect William Playfair. From here it is only about a 10 minutes walk directly up Howe Street to George Street, Princes Street and the main attractions of the city.

  • Great place to spend time in Stockbridge. I stayed for two months, and it was quite comfortable, and was incredibly convenient to get around to the shops and walks around the area.

  • Fabulous location in a vibrant, attractive part of Edinburgh with good public transport links. We enjoyed a morning out on Crammond beach, visited museums and had a wonderful walk along the Leith waterway. Mint's apartment is clean and inviting.

  • We again enjoyed staying in Mint's well equipped, beautiful appartment in Stockbridge. The appartment has all you need for a city trip and its location and surroundings are great.

  • As our first stay in an Air bnb we could not have asked for better. Perfect stay from start to finish. The flat is in a prime location for exploring Edinburgh but is just outside the hustle and bustle. Thanks for having us, we will be back!

    Rachel2019-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • This charming flat was perfect for our purpose. The location is outstanding; right in the heart of Stockbridge with many excellent restaurants and shops nearby. It’s a quick and easy bus ride to Princes Street or the old town; it’s also slightly removed from the crazy busy tourist areas. The flat itself has everything you need and the space is decorated very nicely. I hope we’ll return some day.

    Susan2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Totally loved out three night stay at this lovely apartment. Sparkling clean, perfectly located for an abundance of amazing restaurants and walks, beautifully proportioned, comfy king size bed, great shower and lovely dining kitchen which had everything you could possibly need. The sofa in the sitting room was so comfy that one evening, after a full day of walking, we nearly decided to cancel our dinner reservation and just curl up on the sofa for the rest of the evening! Hunger prevailed in the end! 😄

  • Julie's apartment is perfect for our little family getaway! We had everything we needed throughout our stay and nothing was too much trouble for Julie when we called on the odd occasion to ask silly questions! Ideal location and lovely modern interior. Flat was clean with plenty of fresh linen and towels for the duration of our stay. Will be coming back for sure! Pleased to have found this little gem near to our family in Dunfermline! xXx

  • Great place to stay. Very clean , Julie met us at the location and was very helpful she went out of her way to help us out. Would stay again

    Simon2020-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • We had a family member stay at Julie's place following our baby's arrival, it was very close and a convenient place for them to stay, we'll be telling friends and family about the place

    Tim2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Myself and my partner recently stayed in this property over the new year period, the place is very well located and pretty central to local amenities including supermarkets and train station. The train in to Edinburgh city centre costs around £5 return and there is free parking for your car at the station or it’s a lovely walk to the station - it took us around 30 minutes at a leisurely stroll. The place itself is cosy and quiet, Julie thought of absolutely everything we could of needed. There’s basics in the cupboard for cooking - we’ve stayed in so many air b&b’s and have had to buy all the little things. Free WiFi, chrome cast on the tv to connect your phone. The place was spotlessly clean and tidy. The only downside was the shower, if you’re any taller than 5ft8 you have to crouch to wash your hair. Overall a fantastic stay in a lovely place! Would definitely recommend!!!

Bright double bedroom with its own en-suite shower room. My house is in a very quiet cul-de-sac. Please feel welcome to use kitchen, sitting room and outdoor decking area. Dalgety Bay has easy access by car, bus or train to Edinburgh (25 minutes). Ideally situated for St. Andrews, Carnoustie and Fife Coastal routes.
Please feel free to use the sitting room but if you just want privacy this room is ideal as it is quite separate from the other living areas.
My home is a short walk to the sea. Dalgety Bay has many lovely walks to explore in addition to being part of the Fife Coastal Path walk. It also has an active sailing club. Aberdour is a neighbouring village and is home to two beautiful beaches, a harbour, castle, golf course and a choice of traditional pubs and shops. If you want a bit of history, I would recommend visiting Dunfermline, the ancient capital of Scotland. It has a wide number of historical venues such as the royal palace, a 12th century abbey (which is the final resting place of Robert the Bruce) and the burial site of 11 other Scottish kings and queens.

  • I loved my stay at Agnieszka's cosy home! I needed somewhere quiet and peaceful to relax during the day as I was playing in a show during the evenings, and that was also convenient for Edinburgh. Agnieszka's home is lovely, quiet, full of interesting decorative touches and ornaments, with a lovely kitchen with everything you could need, including more herbs and spices than I've ever seen! :-) With Virgin TV, Netflix and a big selection of DVDs there was plenty to watch. She was very helpful and friendly, and as nice when I met her as I'd anticipated having seen her home/kitchen/books/etc. I'll definitely be back when I play the same show next year. :-)

  • Victoria and Derek have a great flat in a quiet residential area that is right next to the Fife Coastal Path. The inside is well appointed and was spacious enough to accommodate my party of 3 (2 adults and one toddler). We were met by our hosts on arrival and they were in contact with us at various points of our 2 week stay. They were good enough to have bread, milk, cereal, and a very nice shortbread selection for us, when we arrived. As I'm from Scotland, I hired a car for the duration of our trip. We didn't utilize much of the public transport options but there are plenty of busses and the train station is a 20 minute walk from the flat. Both will get you where you need to go. There are grocery stores and takeaway food options nearby as well. Victoria offered to come and change bedsheets and swap towels out for us, as we were staying for a longer period of time. We contacted her around the half way point of our two weeks and it was taken care of. We made use of the washing facilities and made several meals in the kitchen - everything worked great. All in all, we had a great experience and felt very much at home. Victoria and Derek were great hosts and I wouldn't hesitate to book with them again.

The studio is a very unique space, it is a detached, self-contained wood and glass structure. Once inside the space is modern, bright, cosy and very private. The main living area comprises a double bed, dining area and kitchenette (fridge, microwave, toaster, kettle). Off the main living area is a WC/shower room. The parking space is right next to the studio, though the same gate you will use for your private access. The garden is small but perfectly formed with a lawn, frog pond and apple trees. Our home is at the other end of the garden. If you have any questions about the space we would be very happy to answer them.

  • Gavin's garden studio is a very cozy and lovely place. There was plenty of options for food in the area, and the pantry was well equipped for making an easy, light breakfast. The studio was well isolated from the main road traffic-noise, so you felt very undisturbed by the outside world. Gavin was a very kind and helpsome host, he was quick to answer textmessages and when our luggage went lost on the flight to Edinburgh, and we were away, he gladly accepted the bags for us and put it in the studio. All together a deeply satisfactory stay, we would very much recommend for couples and would happily stay at the studio again if we were to return to Edinburgh someday.

  • Couldn’t have asked for more from Gavin and his beautiful studio. Everything was easy from booking to check-in and there are so many little touches that make it a great place to stay. I would absolutely recommend booking - and it’s very conveniently located/connected to the city!

  • My mum and I had two fabulous nights at Heather’s beautiful welcoming home, at either end of our cruising holiday sailing from Rosyth just down the road. From the moment of booking Heather was so friendly, helpful and approachable and happily accommodated our different arrival and departure times. Heather’s home is beautiful! Such a stylish, welcoming and relaxing place to be especially after a long journey. Heather’s breakfasts were served in her lovely kitchen-diner with lots of lovely extra touches such as fresh Scottish raspberries, croissants or toast to order and a selection of cereals and granolas-perfect start to the day with freshly brewed coffee. We visited Heather during beautiful weather and her garden is stunning-like a National Trust garden in miniature, where we sat with our tea as we waited for our taxi. Heather was so helpful with her local knowledge of the area and public transport too. We spent a day in Edinburgh at the start of the Fringe and Heather’s home is ideally situated for Dalgety Bay station which brings you into the heart of Edinburgh at Waverley station for around £6 return. We can’t wait to go back to visit Heather and can’t recommend her home and hospitality highly enough -thank you Heather so much, such lovely memories 😊.

The included welcome pack of tea and coffee basket is charming and welcoming. A nice and spacious lounge with an attached small, cute kitchen is suitable for everyday food and drink preparation. Our lovely flat is located in a listed building on Aberdour's Main Street. There is a 5 minute walk to the station and the village centre's pubs and shops, 5 minutes to the Fife Coastal Path and 10 minutes to the beach and harbour. Edinburgh City Centre is 30 minutes by train (airport 45 minutes). We have off street parking and are next door to a corner shop. The flat has free WiFi . There is a wood burning stove in the living room and the flat has been recently decorated in neutral tones.
You enter the flat through a small hallway, which has some hanging space for coats and bags. The living room has a lovely comfortable 'L' shaped sofa and armchair . There is a West Elm coffee table which has a section that you can raise up to act as a desk. You can use the wood burning stove, internet television and Amazon Alexa. There are some board games and books that guests are welcome to use. We will leave a log for the burner so you can get a fire started. You can buy more logs at the garden centre in Dalgety Bay or the petrol station at Dalgety Bay. The bedroom has a double bed with Indian Cotton bedding. There is cupboard with drawers and shelves. There is no wardrobe hanging space but there are some hooks over the bedroom door with 6 hangers. There is a full length mirror and a hairdryer. Aberdour is a lovely community, there are golf, tennis , bowling and sailing clubs in the village . The Silver Sands Beach is award winning and has life guards during peak season. There is a cafe on the Silver Sands that is open for breakfast and lunch - the view is stunning. Aberdour is well positioned to access lots of beautiful walks including the Fife Coastal Path. There is information about some of the walks and an OS Map in the flat. The village has a good real ale pub the 'Foresters Arms' and 2 hotels, The 'Aberdour Hotel' and the 'Woodside' - both do good food. • Warm, cosy flat in a great location. The beach and coastal trail walks are minutes away. We had a great few nights away and would return.

  • Julia is an amazing host, very responsive to enquiries and very friendly. The flat was absolutely perfect, very clean and in an ideal location..I would definitely recommend this place to everyone.

  • A lovely flat with great character. We had a nice weekend away and with the completely horrible weather it was lovely to come back and light a fire!

    Carrianne2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • The flat was beautiful and spacious with a well-stocked kitchen and a lovely fire place. We were not there much as it mostly served as a crash pad for a new year's holiday, but it was very comfortable and we enjoyed our stay. Just a note for those who look for these things, the bed was quite a hard mattress. I would not presume to make this a negative in the review, but I wanted to mention it for those that it matters for.

    Abigail2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great cosy flat with everything you need, we would return!

    J2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Julia’s place is fantastic and just the job for accommodating the oldiwonks when they are visiting. It has everything you need and is handy for all the local amenities like the shop, beach and train station. Private parking is a definite plus!

    Paul2019-12-16T00:00:00Z
  • The description and photos of Julia’s flat are accurate, so the space was as I imagined. Absolutely no disappointments. The little touches were great - breakfast products, honesty fridge and toiletries. Plenty of soft towels. The wood burning stove was great, especially for the cold evenings. Being there in December was not the best to appreciate either the flat or the surrounding area, although we did manage to get a walk in on the 2nd day. The flat was ideally placed in the village, for the station, places to eat and other local facilities. Great for the Fife Coastal Path.

Picturesque seaside cottage, steps from the water, 5 minutes from the train station. Ideal base for exploring Edinburgh (20 minutes away by train) or visiting the beautiful Kingdom of Fife (Aberdour, Anstruther, St Andrews). The property has a private back garden in the shadow of the Forth Rail Bridge (now a UNESCO world heritage monument), and is situated down a quaint cobbled lane that is closed to traffic. A little piece of heaven under the three bridges.
The property is traditional on the exterior (dating from the late 18th century), but inside is modern. Open plan downstairs, two separate bedrooms and bathroom upstairs. Main bedroom is large and features a chaise longue and a desk area. Both bedrooms have built-in wardrobes. Bathroom has bath, shower, sink and heated towel rail.
Steps away from a great cafe/deli for morning coffees and tasty lunches, and just round the corner from a Michelin-noted restaurant (https://www.theweerestaurant.co.uk/) serving first class Scottish fare. Just across the Forth Bridge is Port Edgar, Edinburgh's harbour for sailing, windsurfing and kayaking. Deep Sea World is 5 minutes round the corner.
  • We love this little house. It’s cosy, clean and really well kitted out. There’s some lovely design touches and it feels very homely. North Queensferry is a lovely spot. The cafe at the end of the lane is great, and The Wee Restaurant is lovely too. There’s a brand end playpark for the kids at the end of the road, as well as a lighthouse and little beach. I highly recommend this house, you won’t be disappointed!

  • Awsome location!

    Craig2020-01-09T00:00:00Z
  • We booked the cottage for Christmas week. A lovely cottage down a cobbled street in the most peaceful village. Andrew had taken the time to put up a Christmas tree & other decorations, which was a thoughtful and very much appreciated. The cottage was clean and well presented with modern decor and a comfortable size. The cottage is dog friendly, however please be aware, the local pub isn't. we would return to the cottage should we need to escape the madness, again. we would recommend the cottage & Andrew as a host.

    Victoria2019-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • Stayed here with my wife and our toddler for a few nights. The cottage is located right in the heart of the village in the shadow of the Forth Bridge. Yes - you can hear the trains but it certainly doesn’t disturb and for us, enhanced the visit. The cottage itself is homely yet beautifully presented with lots of wonderful Modern Movement touches, including a Corbusian chaise in one of the bedrooms. The kitchen is well stocked and there’s even a little garden which caught the afternoon sun long enough to enjoy a couple of glasses of wine before dinner. Communication and check in with Andrew was super easy. Would highly recommend.

    James2019-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • A cosy cottage in a brilliant location with everything you need. Ideal for couples or families of 4. Only 7 minute walk to the railway station and from there 25 mins into Waverley. Great place to stay.

    Douglas2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • When we arrived at the house our eyes were out on stalks, not only at the mind blowing setting of being literally in the shadow of the forth bridges towering above, but at the utterly charming picture postcard cobbled streets and lanes. The house itself is really clean but above all very tastefully decorated. The train station is a five, eight minute walk where you can take the train into Edinburgh. Our only problem was having to come to terms with the fact that we'd been so stupid in not booking a longer stay here. Fabulous. Highly recomended.

    Irina2019-08-20T00:00:00Z
